Compromise possible for bypass?
A proposed route for the Monroe Connector that could have taken out six businesses in Indian Trail's Old Hickory business park has been redrawn.
And the revised route could bring compromise to two towns clashing over two proposed routes for the long-planned road.
The proposed change is for the Monroe Connector/Bypass, a 22-mile toll road that would link Interstate 485 with eastern Union County.
The N.C. Turnpike Authority had narrowed a large field of possible routes to two:
Route 18A, which cuts through Stallings and which Stallings officials are aggressively campaigning against.
Route 2, which originally sliced through Old Hickory. Indian Trail officials have been firm in opposition to the original. more

. moreLehman says businesses with green focus to outperform others
SINGAPORE: Businesses cannot afford to ignore the global trend towards being environmentally aware as US investment firm Lehman Brothers pointed out, those who do not keep up may lose investor interest. The investment firm said it expects businesses with a green focus to outperform the others in the near future. Asia is expected to account for more than half of global carbon emissions in 2030, and businesses in the region may need to keep a watch on the carbon they produce. There is growing pressure to be more environmentally friendly in Europe and the US, and firms that do not comply with carbon emission limits may find it hard to get business. Theodore Roosevelt IV, managing director of Lehman Brothers, said: "We don't think we are going to see winners and losers, that one sector is going to disappear and another sector (to) emerge. more

Resolved Question: How do I start up an online merchandise business ?
I have owned a small construction business for the past decade and now have decided to start an online merchandise business ( skateboards and accessories, snow boards and accessories, outdoor recreation merchandise and apparel ). How do I get in contact with the manufacturers of the products and get their products onto my website to sell to my customers ? I don't want to store merchandise in a warehouse. I want to do my business ( taking orders, interacting with the manufacturers, shipping ect. ) over the internet. Anyone know how to do this ? moreResolved Question: Life after the mental health institute?
There’s a good chance my therapist might refer to me to a mental hospital. I meet with my new therapist in a few weeks. I was seeing a counselor again (saw her two years ago too) at my college but got referred to an actual clinic instead since the counselor didn’t think they could give me the help I needed. I haven’t tried to kill myself; and I never would because I could never do that to my family. But I do think about it way too much. Along with that, I’m extremely critical of myself. So much that I’ve lost all self confidence and positive imagine. Instead, I avoid people because I I feel inferior to everyone, I’m always stressed, I’m not motivated and never want to get out of bed in the morning and start my day, my college grades have dropped dramatically because I psych myself out that I’m going to fail and then I can’t concentrate or focus on anything. My counselor asked if I have any hobbies; and I really don’t. I don’t find enjoyment in things anymore so I gave up any previous hobbies that I’ve had. I typically am a good student. I’m a hard worker and I’ve got business sense. When I get out of college I’ll be successful at what I do. That is, if I can control my problems. I’ve tried to ignore them for a long time, but realize I need to fix them otherwise I wouldn’t be able to live up to my potential and probably lose many friends because of my anti-social tendencies. Because I do want to get better, I am willing to do the therapy, and even the mental health institute if need be. But the thing I’m worried about is life after the institute. I’ve worked as an government employee for the National Park Service for four years and want to after I graduate from college. Will I have trouble getting a job with this on my record; or any other job for that matter? I realize this would all depend on my college; but do you think this would set me back in college? I’ve heard the average stay at an institute is 30-60 days. I’m a recreation and tourism major. It’s basically business management for outdoor facilities such as the park service. Pretty much the outdoors version of the business field. A lot of my classes do with legal aspects and how to not get sued for your programs you develop. It’s not so much the fact that being admitted to a facility like this that bothers me; it’s the affects it will have later on me such as finding a job. Do you think this would present an issue? moreResolved Question: how does a young and inexperienced entrepreneur start a business with high OH?
I am a regular 22 year old college student. I have a business idea that would take x of millions of dollars to start. How would i go about getting funds/started in the process of building an indoor sport complex? It would consist of basketball courts, a turf soccer field, and other areas for volleyball and other sports. Winter takes up 8 months of the year here, limiting the use of the outdoor arenas. A lot of people get throught the winter by playing sports. There are limited places(that are nice) to go for sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball...etc. There are 3 recreation centers, a YMCA, and few health clubs that arent even involved with sports. Some high schools rent their gyms out but it is pretty pricy. There is one sports complex that is semi new but poorly ran. They have a turf field and 5 courts for basketball, volleyball, etc., that are made from this weird plastic flooring. I am convinced that if there were another sports complex, that it would be very successful. moreResolved Question: how does a young and inexperienced entrepreneur start a business with high OH?
