Business leaders react to mayor's departure

Memphis Mayor Willie Herenton's resignation just a few months after the municipal elections is giving business leaders reason for hope.

"I can't help but be optimistic," says Bob Loeb, principal of Loeb Properties Inc.

Though it's not clear who Memphis' next mayor would be, "a new vision, new vigor would be good for the city," he said.

If the move is a prelude to city and county consolidation, it's something the community should consider, Loeb said.

"A functional consolidation, department by department, is worth exploring with a piecemeal approach," he said. "Construction code enforcement was consolidated more than 20 years ago. It helped efficiency and saved money. It could possibly help municipalities become more efficient."

Dick Leike, president of Crye-Leike, Realtors, believes the move will have a positive effect on the business environment and the community as a whole. more

FOSTORIA — Fostoria Community Hospital has been named the American Hospital Association's 2008 Grassroots Champion in Ohio for its efforts to help increase awareness about civic issues that affect hospitals and patient care. Hospital President Tim Jakacki is to accept the AHA Grassroots Champion Award on April 8 in Washington, D.C. on behalf of the advocacy program, GrassRoots Green, which was introduced at the hospital last August. The program was developed to encourage hospital staff, physicians, volunteers and board members to work together to advocate in support of issues important to the hospital and the community. The GrassRoots Green program is a collaborative effort between the hospital, ProMedica Health System and the Ohio Hospital Association. It was piloted at the hospital because of the its steadfast involvement in the community, and is to expand to other hospitals within ProMedica Health System in the future. more

Open Question: What is the easiest to sue a car dealership for damaging my car title by rolling back the mileage?

I am posting this semi - anonymously (sp?) due to the fact that the decision has been made to go forward with a lawsuit, therefore I will be leaving out some details (dealer name, model of car, etc.) I will otherwise give as much detail as possible. A Chevrolet sports car was purchased by a member in my family (who we'll call John) in the mid to late '90's. It was a '95 model car and upon purchasing the car, it had slightly over 30k miles on the car. It was purchased with one prior owner before the dealership took hold of the car and title. "John" purchased this car at a reasonable price for these facts. "John" and my family live in a small town in the state of Texas and do not drive the sports car a lot, keeping the miles down on the car. In '05, John sold the car to my husband, his son (who we'll call Peter.) The title was changed over to reflect the new ownership. "Peter" and I have decided to start a family and in order to prepare, we came to the decision that it's necessary to sell the sports car. We listed the car on AutoTrader with all information possible (including the still low miles, under 60k at present time) and with the final price being not far above Blue Book value. Also, the posting had the VIN number for those wanting to look at the "Carfax" report. In nearly two months, there were three calls, only one being a serious offer. After the last person to meet with "John" and "Peter" about buying the car gives a "not interested" excuse after seeing the car and was excited about it, "John" and "Peter" took the car to a different dealership to see how much a dealership would buy it for. The dealership informs them after researching the car, that the title has a red flag for the mileage being rolled back. It is shown on the title that the mileage was rolled back while at the dealership "John" bought it from. More specifically, the mileage stated on the title when the dealership took over the car from the first owner showed just over 50k miles. The title history then shows the dealership selling the car to "John" at just over 30k miles. So now this produces the red flag of "mileage unknown" or "AMU" on a Carfax report while searching the VIN number. Needless to say this was a complete surprise to both "John" and "Peter." The dealership then informed "John" because of this information, they could only give him half of the Blue Book value which was $4k. "John" has now decided to sue the dealership he originally bought the car from, however we are stuck. There are a few things we don't know how to approach: First, are we within our statute of limitations considering we just learned this information? Second, the dealership is no longer in business but, they had been bought out by a larger dealership. Would the purchasing dealership be liable for actions by the prior? Third, what all could we logically sue for and win? Could we possibly sue for punitive damages? I know we could sue for the difference of the full blue book value, but what else? The ligths go out and SDT appears behind him. SDT waits for DJ to turn around and hits him with a vicious superkick right to the jaw. He goes for the pin. 1...2... Kick out!!! SDT goes to the top rope and tries to hit Collateral Damage but DJ puts both his knees up and counters. Both men are down, and both get up at the refs count of 4. They trade some punches, and DJ gets the upper hand. He throws SDT off the ropes and connects with a superkick of his own. The CROWD GOES WILD!!!!!! DJ goes to the top rope and taunts some, and jumps off, and hits with the DISC SCRATCH. Goes for the pin. 1...2...3. ITS ALL OVER!!!! DJ Heroical is the winner of the match. Ok, so this is a topic I thought of after seeing the segment involving Scott Hall, Sean Waltman, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan. You tell me your opinions... Kevin Nash: I had so much respect for the guy in the early 90s. When he had the Diesel gimmick. He was a great superstar and i dreamed of him becoming the WWE Champion. When he left WCW i was very sad, because WWE lost the biggest upcoming star. But... When i seen what he did in WCW i thanked go he didn't stay in the WWE. I had so much respect toward him, but after seeing what he done in WCW to become a top star I really started to hate. I still hate him. From a great star with probably the best finisher in the business, he became a low life that uses backstage politics and friends like Hogan to boost his career. Kevin Nash was, and i repeat was, one of the best wrestlers in the early 90s. But he screwed up his career with the backstage politics. He did the same stuff during his time in WWE. When he was in the so called "Kliq" with Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Sean Waltman. He got his career boosted up thanks to HBK. If it wasn't for HBK helping him out, he would probably never be a WWE champion. Scott Hall: Not enough been sad about the "Bad Guy". He blames everyone for the destruction of his career. Seriously, Scott Hall? YOU SCREWED YOURSELF. From being one of the most favorite wrestlers in the WWE (Razor Ramon), you became a drunk addict in WCW. Your drinking killed your career. You appeared drunk in many shows and it didn't bother you. Quite honestly if Eric Bischoff had brains he should fired you back then. But if he has brains now, he should fire you from TNA. Sean Waltman: The bad boy of wrestling. Another favorite wrestler back in the 90s. 1-2-3 Kid. Some can argue with me that he was amazing wrestler, but i don't count having several kicks as skills in wrestling. His attitude toward everything in wrestling killed his career. He was part of the "Kliq", but wasn't involved in politics the way Nash and Hall did. He had issues backstage with almost every wrestler that was in WCW or WWE. He only befriended those who were in the main event: Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, Hulk Hogan... The only reason he did that is because that's the BEST way to boost his career. Oh, and who can forget the sex tape with Chyna? Sean, that's the lowest any human being can ever go... Hulk Hogan: The American Hero. The Hulkster. Hulkamania. Well, here is the thing... He WAS all those things. He was the Hulkster. He was The American Hero. From a hero he became a zero. He always, ALWAYS, used backstage politics to get what he wanted in WCW. He didn't want to push the younger guys like Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho. Guerrero, Benoit and Jericho left WCW to WWE. There they got there pushes they deserved. Hogan is one of those old guys that can't have enough from wrestling. He can't. And it KILLS him younger guys get the WWE Titles and he isn't. Trust me, I believe he is jealous of John Cena. Hogan looks at WWE right now like it is his enemy? Why? Because he dies with the will to hold the WWE title. Hogan had is time in WWE... Late 80s. Where he was the biggest star in the company. But those times are OVER. Hogan, if you want to start a war with Vince McMahon, you better get your ass ready, because Vince ain't a coward. I'm not disrespecting TNA, Im talking about Hogan himself. Swagger gets pissed after the match and lies outside in disbelief. Match 6 Alicia Fox vs Nikki Bella (w/Brie Winner: Alicia Fox. 5:00. Promo 6 Before Legacy's match with Mark Henry, they attack him on the ramp with steel chairs. Match 7 Legacy vs Mark Henry. Winners: Legacy. 0:04. They drag him into the ring and once the bell sounds, they pin him. Promo 7 Cena and Sheamus are seen walking to the ring backstage on a split-screen. Match 8 John Cena vs Sheamus (non-title match) Cena faces him for WWE Title at Rumble if Cena wins. Winner: Sheamus. 7:53. The match starts with Sheamus getting out of the ring and wasting some time. Cena gets out and drags him back in. Later, Cena hits him Diving Shoulder Block thrice andgets ready for the 5-Knuckle Shuffle. Sheamus knows what's going to happen and when Cena bounces from the ropes, Sheamus connects with the Bicycle Kick straight to the skull. The ref counts 1, 2, and 3. Ok so we have this project for our computer class where we need to create a company, store, product, and yeah. So we have our store name and stuff, and our product, which is a type of magic shoes. The question on the paper is "List 5 new employees needed to produce the new product. For each employee, include job title, responsibilities, and education needed. Voting Question: LLC Corporate Structure/Hierarchy?

Good evening! A gentleman and myself are about to file to incorporate as an LLC, for we are starting up another company (but as LLC instead of an S corporation as our last business was filed as). Can you tell me if there is a similar structure in an LLC for the Corporate hierarchy within a corporation, such as a Chief Executive Officer, CFO, CIO, CTO, etc., and then senior/regional vice presidents, etc. From what I can tell, when you file as an LLC, the founders become 'members' of the LLC. Resolved Question: Is age a factor in wrestling when it comes to who holds the World Champion of their respected company?

I wasn't able to do too much research into this, but have only done so for the WWE Championship. I've noticed that many of the wrestlers were either in their late 20's or mid 30's. There were only a couple in their early 40's when gaining their first WWE Championship. I can't say for other World Titles in other promotions, but I'm sure it's most likely going to be the same way for most. With that being said, should wrestlers only hold the World Title when they're in their prime? Also, what should be the target age when a wrestler should get their first World Title? BQ: Should all wrestling organizations start testing their wrestlers to monitor their health, so they can plan carefully how they book that wrestler? The following was from Jim Ross' blog and was what inspired the BQ: "I do encourage all wrestling organizations to instill as stringent a testing program as is possible for concussions, heart issues, etc and to monitor how many days an individual is booked either monthly or annually. Voting Question: How much does an ecommerce operations manager make? need help?

Ok, I need help/opinions. I am an ecommerce operations manager for a major retail apparel website. And our area of the company has grown enormously in the last year so there has been more focus and money thrown at us (since online businesses are growing at a rapid pace nowadays). So things have been restructured a bit and I just acquired a new boss. She told me flat out that what I get paid ($45,600) is way below industry standards….so she is going to work on getting me more money. Especially since new people below me will be brought in (since we are much larger part of the business now) at/around my current salary. But she wants me to do research to see what other people in my role are getting paid. I did plenty of research…looked on monster, salary.com, simply hired.com, but didn’t come up with anything informative. When I did searches for my title…it gave me a general salary…which was inbetween $65-80,000 a year. But none of them really came with descriptions. So when I presented this to my boss, she said that because they don’t have descriptions, this information isn’t exactly credible (since those positions might not be exactly what I do). It was 1168 pages long took me two weeks to get through it, easly the Best book that I have ever read, my wife is now reading it, The book seems to really mirror what is going on today's Government, Especially the new Obama administration. here is a quick snapshot of the book from the Wall Street Journal. (WSJ Article) Ayn Rand, who had come to America from Soviet Russia with striking insights into totalitarianism and the destructiveness of socialism, was already a celebrity. The left, naturally, hated her. But as recently as 1991, a survey by the Library of Congress and the Book of the Month Club found that readers rated "Atlas" as the second-most influential book in their lives, behind only the Bible. For the uninitiated, the moral of the story is simply this: Politicians invariably respond to crises -- that in most cases they themselves created -- by spawning new government programs, laws and regulations. These, in turn, generate more havoc and poverty, which inspires the politicians to create more programs . . . and the downward spiral repeats itself until the productive sectors of the economy collapse under the collective weight of taxes and other burdens imposed in the name of fairness, equality and do-goodism. In the book, these relentless wealth redistributionists and their programs are disparaged as "the looters and their laws." Every new act of government futility and stupidity carries with it a benevolent-sounding title. These include the "Anti-Greed Act" to redistribute income (sounds like Charlie Rangel's promises soak-the-rich tax bill) and the "Equalization of Opportunity Act" to prevent people from starting more than one business (to give other people a chance). My personal favorite, the "Anti Dog-Eat-Dog Act," aims to restrict cut-throat competition between firms and thus slow the wave of business bankruptcies. Why didn't Hank Paulson think of that? Now that Barack Obama is in town, he will soon sign into law with great urgency the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan." This latest Hail Mary pass will increase the federal budget (which has already expanded by $1.5 trillion in eight years under George Bush) by an additional $1 trillion -- in roughly his first 100 days in office. The current economic strategy is right out of "Atlas Shrugged": The more incompetent you are in business, the more handouts the politicians will bestow on you. That's the justification for the $2 trillion of subsidies doled out already to keep afloat distressed insurance companies, banks, Wall Street investment houses, and auto companies -- while standing next in line for their share of the booty are real-estate developers, the steel industry, chemical companies, airlines, ethanol producers, construction firms and even catfish farmers. With each successive bailout to "calm the markets," another trillion of national wealth is subsequently lost. Yet, as "Atlas" grimly foretold, we now treat the incompetent who wreck their companies as victims, while those resourceful business owners who manage to make a profit are portrayed as recipients of illegitimate "windfalls." When Rand was writing in the 1950s, one of the pillars Rand, who had come to America from Soviet Russia with striking insights into totalitarianism and the destructiveness of socialism, was already a celebrity. The left, naturally, hated her. But as recently as 1991, a survey by the Library of Congress and the Book of the Month Club found that readers rated "Atlas" as the second-most influential book in their lives, behind only the Bible. For the uninitiated, the moral of the story is simply this: Politicians invariably respond to crises -- that in most cases they themselves created -- by spawning new government programs, laws and regulations. I was at a business meeting and we were joined by employees from our sister company. I was called in as the lead marketer to give a talk on our ideas and where we need to progress in marketing terms. There was this hot blonde sitting in front of me. She was staring all the time at me, then on our lunch break out of no where came over and started to talk to me, all friendly and stuff, this was about for 5 minutes. Me personally, i thought the signs were all there, that there was a clear attraction and i felt the same way too. The problem is, these meetings are very random and they call up different people from our sister company so there is a chance i will never see her again. From the spurr of the moment, in silence, i gave her my contact details secretly while the main co exec was giving his talks. As i had to leave after that, i couldn't tell her anything so i basically given her me contact details and left without saying anything. Her body language once i gave her my details got her all tense and she didn't look at me after that. The worst thing is, i found out that i may have to see her again for another meeting. I wish i could of asked her properly but we are in a professional enviroment where you can't talk because its a full blown, serious meeting. Resolved Question: How do you get used to a richie company in a downtown setting?

Recently I was asked to work with the IKON printing company that is a contractor to another very large and well-known company (Morgan Stanley). The printing company is new to the account and company that they now serve. They won over the bid against a competitor who had a couple of guys that worked there (who everyone loved). When the new company (which is trying to hire me currently) came in and took over, the former employees were with the competitor company for years. They didn't want to lose their tenure with their company in order to keep that job, so they went elsewhere and stayed with the competitor company they had their long history with. The company I'm trying to be employed by (IKON) offered the existing employees to join their company and continue on, but they'd have started over their tenure again and they didn't want to do that. So, they took off with the other company apparently about a month ago. They're trying to replace those two workers, and I am one of the ones they have all but officially "hired" (I have beginning employee paperwork that says "as an employee of _________, I..." but I'm sort of in a probational status for a while after I am officially hired. While waiting for the interview, some big-title lady in the office next door (vice president or something) asked me to come talk to her until the manager I was waiting on came back. She asked me all sorts of personal questions about hobbies, etc. and said, "I'm just being nosey." We talked about all sorts of stuff and I felt that I was very open...but she apparently told the manager that I was waiting on (later on) that I seemed "a little shy." She also stated that they (and also herself) would be very demanding of me. Pays about $12 bucks an hour. They emphasize butt-kissing greetings of high-profile investors and all other employees at the company the contract is with, basically. We would be responsible for the upkeep of all breakrooms, delivering about 300+ pieces of mail to offices per day, and general print, binding, etc. for the big-name people's presentations or whatever they need printed. Of course, that has to be 100% error free. No smudges, the exact colors requested, etc. Basically, they're trying to "win over" the support as the new company, and they are on a bit of a probational status themselves. The company loved the other people. Investors upstairs, I've been told, have to have a minimum of $10 million to open whatever investment account with the company. So they do a LOT of butt-kissing to these people. It seems like "super nice" is not even the word to describe how they want me to be, and I feel that I've been really nice, greeting people, etc. and I'm not sure what's wrong with them that they think I'm "shy." I work at an airport...I deal with thousands of people per day in Customer Service. Shy I am not. Also, my site manager doesn't know how to get me fingerprinted. He basically wanted me to "check around" at local police stations, etc. and find a place to get fingerprinted. But yet also seeming to indicate they'd pay for it. The paper he gave me lists a local police station, but they require a cashier's check or money order and won't take cash. In the interview, he seemed reluctant with that place he gave me because they don't take cash...which made me question why he gave me the freaking paper if he didn't want me to go there and it would be a hassle for him to get me the money order/check to pay for it with. I've also been "hired" via paperwork by the IKON company about a year ago. It took a month to get "hired"...then on the day I was to start, they cut my position before I even started training, due to "economic issues." It was the exact same manager guy that it is now. It seemed like a legit job cut...but they're starting to look very unprofessional and dumb now. The building is a richie-richie too-good-for-everything kind of places. Tile floors, golden stuff, everybody has this almost-fake, giddy, happy approach to being in the office with one another. How do people feel "okay" with this? It's like they are too good to sit in a regular chair - it has to be a pure leather chair with studded crap on it, golden arm rests, etc. But then they wonder why it "costs so much to run the business" and they have to do job cuts at various times. Maybe...buy a simple office instead, and save the millions it cost to make all the offices? *shrug* I don't know...can someone answer me why people like these types of settings? I can't stand them, though I'm trying to get the job because it's better pay-wise than what I have now, and I absolutely need a new job (I'm already in an environment now that is so unprofessional and out of order that I want to just walk out sometimes - but can't). I know it's all part of life and work...but some jobs are better than others. It seems that after talking with all the managers...they are more "laid back" and I seem to be the harder worker that is actually used to(continued) doing a lot more stuff than they've ever done since they were with the company. Their, "Oh...nooooo, it's not like that here. It's definitely not thaaaat busy approach" seems as if they're telling me they are lazy bums and I might not like it there if I like to work hard. lol more

I have a car at my house that belongs to my dad. He's moving, not taking the car because it won't make it there. The car is worth crap, $500-$800 at best. I'm in Virginia, but there used to be an outstanding debt on the car in California. My dad stopped making payments on it about 5 years ago, when he started using drugs. Since then, the statute of limitations for the debt has expired, meaning they can't try to collect the debt anymore, and the bank wrote off (or charged off) the debt years ago. My sister's name was also on title as the co-signer, she has no interest in the vehicle either and she's still in California. Debt wise, I know I'm free and clear, but I can't do anything (like sell) the vehicle since the title is held by the bank still. According to Virginia law, if the vehicle is on your property for 10 days (as an abandoned vehicle), you pay $25 to search for the legal and registered owners, send them a notice and they have 15 days to remove the vehicle from your property, then you have to try to "lien sale" the vehicle for 21 days, if you get no buyer, you can re-title it in your own name. My main concerns here are: Considering the loan was sold by the bank to a collections company, would they even bother coming to get the car? It's almost 4000 miles away from the lienholder, and the cost of getting it back to California would be 3 times what the car is worth, it can't even be driven there. Now, if they didn't come get the car, can I, as a private party, not representing a business, conduct a lien sale? I can't find much for specific info. What I'd like to happen is conduct a lien sale and either sell the vehicle or re-title it to myself and then sell privately, so my sister's name is free and clear of it as the bank would have been notified of the lien sale (in the case they don't come to get it.) Any advice?I HAVE CONTACTED THE BANK--THEY WILL NOT ASSIST ME BECAUSE I'M NOT ON THE LOAN, NOR DO THEY OWN THE LOAN AS IT WAS SOLD TO COLLECTORS LONG AGO. THEY WILL NOT HELP ME. I purchased a used car and a warranty from a dealership in full. The warranty company was a company the dealer does business with and recommended. When I got the car home it would not start for 5 days. I brought the car back after jump starting it and asked if I could please trade the car for one that was in good working order. The dealer said no. I asked if I traded it for a more expensive one and paid the difference could I do that. The dealer said yes but the warranty company would not transfer the warranty over although he would try his best to see if they could since it was only 5 days later. When I picked out the second car I was a few hundred dollars short. The dealer told me not to worry as he would just hold on to the title and I could send him a check over the next three weeks. I paid him off two weeks later and received my title one week after that. I also received information about my warranty in the mail. I called the warranty company and they told me the dealer had cancelled the policy and requested a refund to the dealership and cashed the check. I called the dealer and asked if he could transfer the warranty or not and he said he spoke with the company and they cannot honor a transfer or refund and for me to have a nice evening and hung up the phone. I called him back and I then asked him why he requested a refund to himself and he said he didn't. I told him that is what the warranty company has on their records. He asked who I spoke with and I told him the name and he hung up t5he phone. I called back and asked him why he was keeping the money and he said because I ruined the first car (that incidentally sat in my driveway for five days) so he was entitled to the refund and not me. He then hung up the phone. Have I been a true victim? If so, what is my next course of action if the area in which the vehicle was purchased does not have a consumer protection agency. I currently own a boutique but it's on the verge of bankruptcy. My sales were so poor this year, I sold barely 1/3 of what I did last year. I have a ton of inventory that I can't sell, even at half off. During the two years that I've owned my business, I have not taken a paycheck. My business hasn't been profitable and I'm really concerned that I'm going to have to go out of business. I really want to start making money so that I can save it and start paying off my student loans, but I just can't see that in my immediate future with the path I'm on with my business. I feel like I could get a decent job being an insurance sales person, or working at a title company or something like that. I know that I'm capable, but I just don't know if I should stick it out with the business and see if it maybe makes a profit sometime within the next year or two. I was curious about the actual specifics, I thought Sony had a deep enough pocket to keep hold of the FF franchise's reins? At least having a prior contract b4 this business with MS? If this is the case, is it perhaps plausible to assume that this contract was breached on SE's part? or was it voided when square merged with enix and became a new company? That would explain why no porting has occured to older titles - but if thats the case how come FF12 has not already been ported - but 13 has? and what is preventing Versus 13 from losing its exclusivity as well? I mean Square Enix has already made a habit of lying twice on both exclusivity - and compromise of quality concerning FF13. Open Question: To phone or email, when asking someone you slightly know, about possible job openings?

I work in a niche job, and recently the company basically went under. I worked on projects that involved other companies and made some basic contacts. One company, that we actually rented space from for about 2 years, seemed like a particularly nice environment. One of the majority owners wanted to include our company in some projects, but in the end, the main client makes those decisions. So this guy, "Joe" was very nice and even mentioned about 3 years ago, that if things didn't work out with my company--it was a rough patch--he said that his company could probably find a place for someone like me, because of my experience. Flash forward 3 years, and now I really am out of a job! I last spoke with "Joe" 5 months ago, just as my company was slipping, we were looking for a new office space. The main company was full up, but he also personally owned some office space near by,and offered it, but things ended up being too far gone. In recent months, I also know that the main company is in a holding pattern--I know 2 people who work there, and they told me that they are still occasionally laying off people--18 months ago there was a big string of layoffs, but then 12-9 months ago, they started to hire back. Anyway, don't know if I should contact "Joe" via email or if I should try his cell phone, which I have off his business card. In the past, his office number is usually fielded by an assistant, who must get paid well for sorting out people---I mean, I know I am not client and "Joe" does have a big business to run. Though, when I have spoken to him, he has always been very kind and helpful. I am also not sure how to approach it, as I am not a clear hire at this point. There is one titled position that my niche experience would be very useful, but I also know that there are other aspects of that position I would need training for. My experience is about 8 years of hands on knowledge and I know that most people don't have what I have. The stuff I would need would be more like accounting and formal scheduling, which I think would be easy enough to learn in a few months in an assistant (or even intern) position. After a move to 4714 Western Ave, Doug Higging came into my shop, we talked and he told me he just received a Masters degree in business and explained that he was looking for investors in real estate. I told him that I had A credit and he told me he been working in real estate for twenty years and he was getting ready to buy an apartment building. Once he purchased the building, it was in my name. In addition, he opened an office in my name, Inmor Investment Corporation. I also invested my credit and credit cards for money he said were to help build the business. He said he wanted to open an office in Las Vegas, Nevada, so the company purchased a house foe me to live in. In December 2004, I left Los Angeles and moved to Las Vegas. After the move to Vegas, he bought a New Van for me, also two new cars for himself, a small truck and motorcycle, all of these vehicles were in my name. He started using my name to purchase more property. One of his employees, Tim Chapman, came to visit me in Vegas with his family. Tim then told me about other property in me and my wife’s name that I did not know about. This information he got when buying the house in Vegas, which turned out to be inn my name only. After I was given the title as Vice President of Inmor, I then found out the payments on my van had stopped, I lost the van. Company opens a new location Company hires three new employees and three existing employees transfer to this new location 1 existing employee has nine years with the company, 1 has 5.5 and I have 4.85 years of Experience Out of the existing employees I am the only one not making the minimum wage for the assignment the other two are above that and the one with 9 years of experience is at the top of the pay scale so he does not get a change in wages. Out of the 6 employees I am the only one that has 4.85 years of experience in one area of the business and all of the endorsements needed plus the same experience of the other two existing employees. Three have no experience and no endorsements or licensing needed and Homeland security checks needed as I have stated I have because the location I came from required this to work there. I need 1 class to be fully qualified for this location and it is one week long. I met two of the three new employees in training, they will be at this training facility for four weeks. They will be trained only 3 days before the opening of the new location on the minimum needed for the new location and I am the only one with all of the needed training for this location. I find out the new hires are being paid the minimum hourly wage that do not have ANY EXPERIENCE with any part of the operations of this company. I am still at my lower wage which I have been told will begin in two weeks which is two weeks before we move to the new location. According to management we will all be getting the same pay even though it will be a year before all of the employees will have all the licenses and Homeland security checks done, plus have all of the company required courses completed. According to the wage scale I should be paid $1.00 more per hour then any of the other employees because of my endorsements and clearances. I would be the only employee that would have more responsibility and job title is slightly different even though the majority of the work would be the same for everything else. I was told that since we all of the employees at this location would all be trained we were all starting off at the same wage for fairness. According to management the next time they would have time to train another person is going to be 7 months from the day we start at this new location. Would this be considered wage discrimination?
