Businesses Hit By Stolen Check Scam
With a name like Mark Down Furniture, you might expect to find a few steals at Mark Erlenbaugh's business. "I give everyone a deal that walks through the door," he says. Erlenbaugh just never imagined someone would be stealing from him. "It just always stinks when someone that takes care of people gets japped." The owner of the small Moonville store says it's happened twice in two days. A checkbook carrying crook walked into his store first Saturday, looking for a good buy. "She said her dad was real sick at a nursing home, and she had the authority to sign his checks." The same person showed up again Monday, with more in mind. "She bought the bed, the dresser the nightstand, all the pieces to go with it."
It was only when the female customer drove off, that Erlenbaugh realized something was wrong. "I found out by going to Bank of America," Erlenbaugh says. "They said that account is closed. The checks are stolen." Erlenbaugh says the same sneaky thief has hit several nearby busineses in a few days. For him, it's close to $2000 gone from his bottom line. "$1400 might not seem like a lot to some people. But to a small business owner like myself, it's a lot. That will take me 2-3 months to recover." Now, he's spending his time warning others. "If it doesn't seem right, it's probably not right."

They are asking local businesses if they would like to be involved.
By making a donation they will be able to take part in the relay and receive their own torch to keep.
Organisers at the school say they already have about a dozen businesses interested in taking part and the number who get involved will determine the route taken to the school.
Once the torch relay arrives at the school there will be a mock opening ceremony and lighting of the flame.
According to organiser Bernie Sands, businesses can also bid to see who will have the honour of lighting the cauldron at the ceremony.
Then the games will begin.
It is an all day event with fun and games for all ages.
There will be special guests such as the "Queen", the "IOC president" and "Roy and HG" to bring a touch of the Olympic fever. more
Trading time ahead for electronic joint ventures
Local electronics firms say the move is inevitable considering that from next year, Vietnam will allow foreign-invested businesses to import products to sell locally.
Until now, only Vietnamese businesses have been authorized to distribute foreign products. The opening up of the retail and distribution markets, coupled with lower import taxes, may make it more profitable for foreign-invested companies to import goods than to manufacture them locally. The current taxes on most imported products range from 0 to 5 percent. In the 1990s, import taxes were about 50 percent. But not all choose to follow Sony Vietnams path. Samsung Vinas Vice President Nguyen Van Dao said his company would invest in both manufacturing and trading. Products with high local demand will still be produced locally, he said. moreLatest Starting A Dog Kennel Business News

Starting A Dog Kennel Business Questions asked
Resolved Question: why did my answer got deleted for help me!?
Question: I think my neighbor is neglecting her dog.? Question Details: And I don't know what to do about it. They've had this dog for a year and when they first got him, he cried all the time because he was a puppy and hadn't been away from his litter before. That I understood. In the last few months, they've been home less and less and less. Now the dog starts crying and screaming every time they leave the house. And it cries from 7 AM, the time they leave, until usually 7 PM when they get home (I'm not kidding, it barely stops). I'm pretty sure the dog is kenneled and a tiny dog doesn't have much for a bladder and bowel control because they're so small. I'm sure the poor thing is crying because it has to sit in its own pee and poo. But I don't know for 100% certain because I've only seen the dog a few times lately and when I see it, it appears to be clean. I don't know what to do. I hear this thing crying ALL DAY and its not only annoying but it breaks my heart. I've called the manager of our building and reported it on several occasions and she said that she doesn't know what to do either. She said that maybe we should consider calling the Humane Society or the ASPCA, but neither of us know for sure what is going on in that unit, so we're not sure how to approach this. Not sure anything would come of it. The ideal situation would be this lady spends more time with her dog, finds a dog sitter, or gives the dog to someone who has a lifestyle for one (For some reason, they got rid of their CAT which was perfectly suited for their not-homeness). Any idea what qualifies as neglect in Minnesota? Does this sound like something the ASPCA would help with? My other consideration is to call the police and report a barking/nuisance dog, but if that is something that could be avoided, I'd like to. Any ideas? Help? Okay, 1) The lady is well aware the dog makes noise, I've reported her repeatedly and her other neighbors on the other side have reported her, too. 2) The manager said she is 100% sure my neighbor keeps the dog in a kennel. 3) I have a job - I work from home. I'm not unemployed, I don't need to get a job. Thank-you-very-much. 3) I am minding my own business. In fact I'm minding the business of my house and my job. The noise of the dog comes into my house and interrupts my work AND sleep. How is that not my business? If you're not going to be helpful or have a point, why bother posting? I have a German Shepherd. She's 10 weeks old, I've had her for 3 weeks, and she's just not getting it. I know she's young, but I haven't seen any improvement whatsoever. For example, this morning, at 5:30am, I let her outside (she spends the night in her kennel) and she was out there for about 15 minutes while I got her food and water ready. Let her inside, walked into "her room" which is the spare room in my house, and knelt down to show her her food and she squated right next to me and started peeing! I've tried the treats when she goes outside and does her business, but she doesn't care for them. She'll gently take one, walk into the kitchen and drop it, then walk away. Any advice from someone who knows about this stuff? I haven't had a dog since I was little and am unsure of the proper or best way to do this. moreVoting Question: Dog making a hacking sound...like a duck?
My dog is a small breed, a Bichon Frise and Shih-Tzu ; eight years old. We took her for a walk yesterday, and suddenly she started making this hacking sound, sounding like a duck, continuously until she as if gags and attempts to spit out - nothing but saliva. If she stays still, and does not walk around much, she does not cough. It sounds like a cough, a barking cough, but dry. We are taking her to the vet tomorrow, but I just want an idea of what this is? I've heard it might be kennel cough, tonsillitis, a cold or allergies from looking on the computer, and from others. She eats perfectly fine, drinks normally, 'does her business' fine, but sometimes she doesn't act herself. She hasn't had any contact with anything that might be stuck in her throat, she doesn't eat things like that. Today, she's been loving icecubes, so we've been giving her those to give her water. Her tail is up, but I just wanted to know what this might be? Also, she is up to date on all of her shots, and has had no contact to any other dog other than the other dog we own, who also has had no contact to another dog outside of the house. Thanks in advance! :) moreResolved Question: I don't have a human, what should I do?
I am a dog. Normally, my job would have been a household pet. But I didn't want to wag my tail for my living all my life, so I started my own doggy sitting business. It has been very successful, and I have my luxury kennel, unmortgaged, with a plasma TV, computer games, a swimming pool, a fridge and a supply of such delicacies as dog biscuits and kibbles. I have three dogs and two humans working on me. I have a computer with a bark to text software (that's how I type). But I have no social life. The dogs I meet in the park don't play with me: the ones with the humans don't accept me, because I am human-less; the human-less stray dogs do not accept me because I have a place to live. And all of then keep asking me all the time: "When will you get a human? Have you got a human for yourself yet?" and so on. The society pressures me to get a human, but I am happy as I am (besides their constant nagging to get myself a human). What should I do? moreResolved Question: Peer pressure, what should I do?

I am starting a pet-sitting business in my town. I've been doing it for some time without solid rates, but have finally decided to make some. Yes, I'm insured. Don't go over how to tell me how to start one, please. The local vets and kennels range from about $15 to $20 to board in runs-- generally on the lower end. So how do my following rates sound? Daily for one pet in my home: $25 -Each additional dog: +$20 -Holiday: +$10 _______________________________________________ Overnight stay with one pet in your home (9pm to 6am): $35 - Each additional dog: $20 - Holiday: +$10 Will water and take trash to curb as requested and generally make the home look inhabited while you're gone. _______________________________________________ Daily Visits (two visits and walks for dogs included): $20 - Each additional visit: +$15 - Each additional dog: +$15 - No additional holiday fee! Will water and take trash to curb as requested and generally make the home look inhabited while you're gone. _______________________________________________ "Holiday" is only the day of, not the days before or after. I'll clarify when dogs must be picked up and what times I do a daily visit between (like not before five am... not after nine pm). moreResolved Question: How can I persuadede my parents to buy a dog?
Now before I start to talk I DO NOT I repeat DO NOT want to hear "you can't" or whatever. Ok, well, my parents say we could get a dog if we had some extra $$$. I offered to sell all my old (new looking) American Girl Doll crap, probably worth $300, because I have a lot. But they don't think that is enough. We already have more than half the stuff we need from our last dog. Now just to let you know, they LOVED our last dog. But they are worried that it would cost a lot to but the dog in a kennel while we are on vacation. I said, what about our neighbors? they would take 10 dollars a day and not 25 dollars. But that didn't seem to convince them. They seem to be worried and keep on saying what about the shots? Now i didn't have anything to say about that. I also offered to start my little babysitting Business early than planned, but we don't think there is enough time and space. Now all I want to know is how I can convince them. moreResolved Question: How would you start up a small business in the animal industry?
College assignment. What factors do we need to look into? Are there any really useful, straight forward websites? Do you have any useful hints for real beginners? Many thanks for the info. So I'm starting a new business as a labradoodle breeder. I plan on keeping 6-8 dogs to start off with but am havinga hard time deciding on how big I should build oth the parent's a nd te puppy kennel. moreResolved Question: How can I potty train my "puppy-mill" dog?
First off, my dog is 8-9 months old, by what the vet has told me. She has been spayed (at 15 weeks old). She is a medium sized beagle, not the large or mini. I don't know why, but the woman had her seperated from her other 2 sisters when I got her. I have already talked with the shelter woman, the vet, and the ASPCA about my problem and I'm tired of being like, "Aww, you peed (or pooped) in the floor. Let's take you outside since you already peed (or pooped) in the house and so you think outside time is your reward for peeing (or pooping) all over the carpet." I'm ready to start something different, maybe punishable. **Sorry in advance to all of the PETA or Animal Activist for anything that I say or any person that answers my question.** Ok, my first way of potty training was going by the adoption papers and taking her out after she eats... yadda yadda. She would wonder off while she was eating and poop or pee somewhere then go back to eating. Then, I tried kennel training. You know, where you put her in the box for so long after she eats and then take her out for a few minutes and if she don't do anything you bring her back in and put her back in the box... Well, that didn't work. She would either use her box, which was also her bed, or she would do it in the floor when I am getting the leash on her. I give her a 1/2 cup of Beneful in the afternoon with a 3/4 cup of water. In the evening, about 6pm, I give a 1/2 cup of Beneful and 3/4 cup of water again. That would equal up to a whole cup of food plus 1 1/2 cups of water a day. As soon as she is done I take her out. Then I wait... Sometimes a very long time, 50 minutes a few times. There has been many times where she wants to go back in and whines and barks until she gets in. When we went back in she ran to a spot in the floor and did her business. I did do what ASPCA told me and I picked it up and did nothing to show it was bad. She wags her tail like it was a good thing. I'm tired of trying to potty train her now. If I cannot find of way of training her then I think I might just take my $250 loss and give her back to the shelter. I don't know if this would cause any issues with her potty behavior, but her potty training was going great until she got spayed. Her crate is only big enough for her to turn around in. If she does use her crate (she knows the word for it as box) she is up against the side and cant lay down unless she wants to lay in her own pee or poop. I have used puppy pads and those made it harder for me to train her to go out. I made a mistake when I said Beneful. I keep calling it Beneful for some reason. It's Ol'Roy's Kibbles, Chunks, and Chews. (Might be cause they look the same or something, I don't know.) I have had her since she was 12 weeks old. I can't remember what else you all have asked me. Hope that is it.I meant to add that the puppy pads made her think that her pillow bed (for when we are home and can keep an eye on her) was for her to go potty on also. The woman that I got her from is a stay at home wife (i guess), because her husband is a Federal Lawyer. She lives in a very rich neighborhood and I don't think she wanted us to know where she lived. We met her in a parking lot and had the other woman to bring her 2 sisters also. I was looking specifically for a beagle. All of the dogs they had with them were very well taken care of. No fleas, no matted hair, gums were pink, and their eyes were clear. They all looked like they were fed very well and hydrated. She even had copies of the vet visit papers for wormer and vaccines. She was a very neatly dressed woman and she had an expensive vehicle. She seemed very serious and passionate about the dogs. apawandaprayer.com is how I found her. moreVoting Question: stuck...should I find my dogs a new home or keep trying?
I have two adult dogs. My husband just deployed. I have 4 young kids under 4 and I didn't expect that things would be this hard. My youngest daughter just got diagnosed with possible cancer and I have to take her up to a university hospital next week to to further testing. I don't know whether it's from the stress of having my husband gone, my daughter being sick, and the everyday stress of having so many young kids or an actual ilness brought on by something else, but I was just admitted into the hospital twice for migraines, and I had that problem where you have swelling with fluid in your brain. My heart rate, oxygen level, and blood pressure all dropped dangerously low, but I ended up being ok a nd they sent me home. I am still having chronic migraines tho, and they don't know why. ANYWAy, here is my problem. My two dogs are wonderful dogs and I love them dearly. They have, however, started going to the bathroom horribly in the house, ecspecially in my kids' bedrooms. I'm talking, my whole house is literally covered in pee and poo and I can't get the smell and all the stains out no matter what I do. I am having to steam clean my carpet several times a week just to get it as clean as I can. They were completely potty trained at once with no accidents at all. Now it's like as soon as they get the chance, even if they don't "have" to go, they'll do it. I took them to the vet and they're both physically completely healthy. I let them go outside constantly since I'm a stay at home mom and praise them when they go outside. Most of the time I even leave my door to the back yard open so they can go in and out freely. They'll just go upstairs and do their business like they've been locked inside for weeks or something. I can't take it anymore. My house smells like I'm a filthy person and I'm so OCD it isn't even funny. It was bad enough with their fur, but I love them so much and it ws my decision to get them so I groomed them regularly and vaccumed and dealt with it, but now my daughter who's 7 months can't even learn to crawl without me worrying about her putting her face and little knees in dog poo and pee. I spend asmuch time as I can with the dogs. I have tried every sort of advice that people have given me to make them stop but they wont. Kenneling them works, obviously, they wont go when they're in it, and they'll go outside, but they'll come right back in and force pee or poo out on the carpet. I don't want to keep them kenneled up or cooped up ina small part of the house because of this. They have also started to get into my baby's diapers (usually I get them outside in the trash but sometimes when I'm really busy I'll leave one on the counter or in the trash inside) and they'll eat it and drag it all over the house so I literally have baby poop/pee and soggy diaper particles all over my floor which is SOOOOO hard to get up. It makes my house smell like a sewer. i try my best to not forget even one diaper but it's beginning to feel like I'm a prisoner in my own home and I have to walk on egg shells to be perfect so they dont' trash stuff. I can't take it anymore. I'm one person at my wits end. i'm so worried about daughter and husband and with my illness, I'm physically almost dead. I love my dogs more than anything and for the longest time Ihave been holding it out and keeping them and doing whatever I can to make it better (even bringing them to training but I can't afford $800 anymore) but I'm starting to think that I can't do it anymore. One minute I have decided that it's best to find them a good home and then the next I'm thinking that I'm just saying that because I'm just drained right now and it'll get better and they'll change or I'll figure something out later. I don't know what to do anymore. I know this was long sorry, but I don't know whether or not I should keep my dogs. I know if I did, there would be a part of me that would always regret it and I would always miss them, but I don't know if it would be better for them and my sanity, and my family. What should do? Please help, thanks. please no mean people I can't take much more drama without breaking. moreResolved Question: I'm getting a 6 year old rescue Schnauzer, what do I need?
Me and my family are in the process of getting a rescue dog. He's a standard Schnauzer called Casper. He's only been at the Kennels since Saturday. Before he came to the kennels, he was owned by an old couple. The old man died and the woman said she couldn't cope with looking after a dog. she also said since her husband passed away, Capser (dog) was becoming aggressive to other dogs. However, the kennels staff said they don't believe that because he is fine with all dogs. I'm soon (no date set) having a home check. but i'm not sure what that consists of. I need to know everything basically, so any help would be very much appreciated. thanks. moreResolved Question: What would you do in this situation?
My neighbors have a dog. Yes,he is a Pit Bull, and before you guys say anything about me bashing the breed, you need to read this story. The neighbors have ZERO control over this dog. He constantly escapes and can jump their 6 foot fence. I love dogs, and the dog being in my yard wouldnt have been an issue, but he loves to terrorize my dogs(who by the way are in a secure kennel, because I am a responsible owner). Anyways, the first few times he escaped,we let it go. A few more times go by,and we discussed this with the neighbor. They had no solution to the problem. To them, it WASN'T a problem. One Sunday morning,my wife and I are getting dressed for church. We had a stray dog living with us until we could track down his owners. My wife decided to take him out to do his business before we left. All of a sudden I hear her screaming. The Pit Bull next door had jumped the fence, and chased my wife holding the dog in her arms, knocked over my wife, and began to maul the dog. I grabbed my baseball bat and began to hit the Pit Bull over the head repeatedly and he never let go. The neighbors were screaming at me to STOP HITTING THEIR DOG. ZERO concern for my wife or my animal. Eventually the owner got our dog loose but then the Pit attacked again. So we were back to square one. At this time,my wife is on the phone with the police. We get our dog loose, and blood is everywhere. He can barely walk or breathe. So, I grab the dog and take him to the emergency vet clinic while my wife waits for the police. I get to the emergency clinic and there really wasnt nothing the vet could do. Our dog had punctured lungs, broken ribs, enlarged heart, and a three inch gash on his neck. She stated the best thing to do is put him down,so I did. I returned home and my wife said the neighbors were blaming us and that our dog provoked everything. I asked my wife what had happened when she went outside with the dog,and she said that she had our dog,on his leash and out of nowhere the Pit Bull jumps and chases her. She stated the neighbors were nowhere outside. I didnt see what went down, but I take my wife's word on it. I called the neighbor so we could have a sit down discussion. The first thing I mentioned was that they were going to pay for the medical visit, and the declined,so then I mentioned going to court and then they changed their minds and said they were going to pay. Then the husband started saying that his dog is only "animal aggressive" and not "people aggressive" which is true, but does that really make it ok? Our animals should not have to suffer like that. Needless to say,the talk with the neighbors did no good. Two weeks later,I'm outside cleaning my truck out, when I hear some ruckus next door. I go to look, and the Pit Bull is BACK in my yard, and begins to run after me. I stand my ground and the dog goes straight for my neck. I pushed him off four times before the neighbor came get him, and yes,we called the cops again, which they were really upset about. Sad thing was,the cop on duty had four Pit Bulls,so he was more sympathetic with the neighbors and allowed them to keep the dog,but told them that if anything dealing with this dog happens again, they will take him in(strike 3). A week passes by.I'm doing yard work and the wife(neighbor) is outside with the Pit Bull. He's on a leash. She look over at me with a grin on her face, goes to kiss her dog(I'm guessing to show me that he's "really a sweetheart") and the dog bites her,on her chin, and would not let go. She's screaming for her husband so I take off running toward her. She's yelling at me: "DON'T CALL THE COPS..AHHHH..DO NOT CALL THE COPS! I called the cops, because I thought it was the right thing to do. What if I didnt and that dog would have killed her? Then I would be in trouble for not assisting someone in danger. When the cops her there, she's bleeding really bad,but the whole time she's cursing at me and telling me I was wrong. They took her dog away, and did not pass the temperament testing,so he will be put to sleep. My neighbors now hate me,but atleast I'm safe...hopefully What would you have done? PS..American Pit Bull Terrier is the breed, and no,I didnt hate the breed...until now moreResolved Question: In need of suggestions?
I have had these dogs for about 4ish months now. They are whippets, and both are about a year old. I can't house train them for the life of me. I admit I have fallen off the wagon a bit though. (letting them use the bathroom on the patio/porch) When we first brought them home we were told that they were house trained perfectly, hadn't had an accident in months. When we got them home the first thing they did was poo on the floor. My husband and I both did our best to teach them not too. Every time their was an accident we would take them outside, and wait and wait and wait. We wouldn't punish them for the ones we found after the fact, but only when we caught them at it. (by saying no and taking them outside, we never hit them) However after a while they just stopped sing the bathroom in front of us entirely. On walks, when we just take them out real quick to go potty, they would refuse to go if we were in eyesight. Eventually I found out that they would use the bathroom on the porch, and started allowing them to do their business there.. But I really miss my porch.. I'm constantly having to scrub it down with bleach, It smells bad, even when it's clean the smell lingers. I miss being able to sit out there without being grossed out. Right now I have them on a leash, which I keep tethered to me, so if they are going to use the bathroom, they Have to do it in front of me. and I kennel them at night. Does anyone else have any other suggestions? Words of encouragement? Success stories or Sage advice? I feel as though I am loosing my mind. I never let people read my works, but I'm starting to consider attempting to make a career out of this. Here is a rough draft of a novel introduction I wrote, and I'd like to know if it shows any promise. Thank you for your time. - Not again. Every single time it’s the same… feeling connected with someone, synonymous with them like beauty on a rose. Then there’s the blackness, a brief nothingness that exists only because I do, and before my eyes can adjust I’m deep inside someone else. They don’t realize it, they never do, but inside them I am. Deeply penetrating their inner most desires, only to change them as my need sees fit. Ah yes, the need. Don’t misunderstand, this isn’t the same kind as say, needing to go to the grocery store, or needing to get laid for once on a Friday night. No, this need is deep and profound and all that jazz. My whole existence may depend on it. Or is it the other way around? We’ll just go with objective instead of need, solve that a bit. Enough beating around the Bush… at least that’s what my boss tells me. “Time for a new vessel! Last chance, this one! Get those bastards out of there or else!” Or else what, you’ll send me away to a different planet far away from my family to do a job that’s nearly impossible so you can have more reasons to keep your head off the block? We have that in common at least, my human friend. Hatred of the control units. Bugger! Off topic again! Fine, no more irony, let’s get down to business. You’re likely wondering what the hell I am and why I’m on my soap box, and why you should care. Good news. Those questions can be answered, simply actually. Me scary alien! Me overworked. Me like to vent system. Care not needed of you… but if I had lungs, I’d exhale slowly right now to prepare them to tell you that maybe you at least should care. That is, if your existence is something important to you. See, my purpose here is to not so mercifully rid you of this planet. I know, snooze fest, right? Aliens come to Earth to take it over and blah blah blah. But this is not plural, only the singular, only me. I’ve been assigned to your lovely little sphere, and not for the reasons you’d think. Alas, the job is the same, but I’ve never made someone utter anything about assimilation or vaporization, because it’s just not that easy. No no, it couldn’t be that easy, could it? Nope! Mind control is a bitch, and not just on the receiving end, either. All the work I put in, whispering sweet nothings for years just to see you fuck it up because of all those crazy emotions. And oh hell yeah, I can feel them. The longer I am with a vessel, the more I feel their feelings. Just part of the job, I guess. Let’s say, for example, my job was a letter carrier; emotions would be the rabid dogs, and everyone on my route has an insecure kennel. Although it’s different for me, when I feel them. That nagging impulse to act on them doesn’t exist, just the overwhelming loss of control. Really though, I thought I had it last time. A former cokehead, alcoholic republican in control of the most powerful country on Earth? Slam freakin' dunk, right? Never underestimate how much stupidity can reign supreme in the minds of some. Can’t make a person secretly orchestrate a nuclear war if he doesn’t even know how to say the word correctly, am I right? Suppose you wouldn’t have that knowledge, but trust me, I’m right. That’s the reason I was reassigned, the reason I’m here. And where is here…? moreVoting Question: my own dog training business?
I have been working as a dog trainer for the past two years (did a year long apprenticeship). I trained service/assistance dogs and also worked at a dog training kennel. I'm 19 and wanting to start my own "business", but more as a temporary job until I'm through school. I'm thinking of offering services through craigslist for teaching basic obedience and such. What do you think? How should I go about wording everything? I'm not "certified", but I do have the experience necessary. . moreResolved Question: What should I do about boyfriend's annoying FEMALE roommate.?
So here it is... Me and my boyfriend have been dating for about a year and he lives with girl he went to high school with because she can't afford to rent this house herself and his lease was up at his apt. So she was like hey move in with me bc my boyfriend moved out and I can't afford it. The problem is that she gets in between him and his relationships. She always has something negative to say about his ex's, they are b**ches and sluts yada yada I don't care. When I first started coming over she would tell me bizzare stories about how they stayed up watching porno together and said that he asked her if they could have sex and she said not tonight I'm tired ha, ha! Then told me not to repeat it to my boyfriend. So of course I asked him and he was pretty disturbed because she is fat and a slob. Then he tells me that when he moved in she got really drunk one night and asked him if they were going to have sex or what and he turned her down. The whole thing is wierd!! When I first was interduced to him she always sat right next to him and would constantly touch his arm, leg, smack his ass or laugh too hard at his jokes. He would tell her to stop touching and she acted like she didn't hear him say this probably embarrassed. She is not my friend at all and makes comments about my small boobs or said that I was putting on weight one time bc she wanted me to take her to the gym I go to. She told me she thought that I was a slut at first and had to make sure I could be trusted for my bf. He never aked her to do this and just made going over ther awkward. So we have been together for a year and she still does all the old crap. They also both have dogs, over a week ago my boyfriend let the dogs out of the kennel and we noticed that there was a red bloody spot on the side of her dogs face. So I took him outside so I could see and poured some peroxcide on it because I figured in needed to be rinsed out because it looked a little puffy and was probably infected. I love animals and have worked as a vet tech assist. in the past. Her dog has a lot of problems and gets really skittish and tries to bite (not good) he is a pit boxer lab mix so very big. I weight about 90lbs so her dog was freaked out even more than usual bc he was hurt. Her dog has bit my bf when she leaves him out at night bc he guards her door. I think his roommate doesn't have any buisness having a dog bc she never walks him first off, she has had him for a year and will not get him fixed and isn't worried about it even though he could easily jump the fence. she lets her dog and his dog fight until the fur is flying then she says shhh then turns the tv up louder! Me and my boyfriend play with her dog more than she does and he has his own dog also. She can't even walk her dog bc he pulls hmm, I wonder why. So she tells my boyfriend one day that he needs to help her with her dog and walking him. She doesn't do anything but watch tv and drink herself to sleep every night so no excuse!! I've bought over $100 worth of toys that her dog has ate because she doesn't play with him and she thinks the toys are there to be eaten not played with. She broke my expensive dog nail clippers told me that they were cheap. Tells me that they have rawhides on sale like it is my job to buy treats for her dog. So she took her dog to the vet about the spot on his face and she is crying for 2 days about it saying I don't want my baby to die even though it is a small sore the size of a nickle. So about three days after she took him she tells me that I shouldn't have put peroxcide on it. I got pissed and said well I could have sat and done nothing would that have been better and my bf yelled at me and said enough just drop it now! I flipped him off and ignored him, watched a movie in his room. I guess when they were downstairs he told me that she was leaving and invited him to go too the bar with her. This made me so mad I don't even want to be in the same room with her because she gets in the middle of our fights once again instead of minding her own business. My boyfriend said 2 days later she is still talking about the peroxcide thing and he told her that we could have done nothing and then she said well thats not what I was trying to say. But its like if you don't have a point or anything positive shut your mouth. I don't talk to her anymore because she pissed me off bad and I want to scream at her. It so bad that I can't go over too my boyfriends to see him without feeling uncomfortable because of this and he won't really talk to her and tell her about how he feels about everything because my boyfriend complains about her constintly and it is not fare that I have to hear about her all the time. He gets irritated at me when I tell him he needs to tell her but its not going to change if he doesn't and he's going to live there until he gets his finances in order (a while). What should I do? Should I stop going over there because he won't ever com moreVoting Question: My dog is having trouble understanding housetraining. This is longish.?
I got my dog about a month ago at 5 months old, as soon as she came home I started housetraining her, taking her out every so often and taking her to the spot I want her to eliminate. However once I let her loose in the house and stop watching her (because I just took her out and she finished her business a few times) she'll go and eliminate somewhere in the house. I got her from a kennel where she lived in a run with shredded newspaper and where she could eliminate anywhere at any time. I don't crate train her, though she does have one it's where I keep her toys, and no I'm not about to leave her in there while I'm at work. She stays in my room which ends up being the equivalent to a crate, she's never eliminated in here. At night while I sleep and in the mornings she sits at the door and whines to go out to the bathroom, yet when I let her roam the entire house she won't do that even though I make her sit at the door we use to go outside and ask her if she "needs to go out" every time. She's not stupid and I'm tired of cleaning up messes in the house. Sometimes I'll have had her out for a half hour and she'll come in and eliminate somewhere. She knows better than to do it in front of me though, and I don't hit her when she does something bad, I'll yell at her and I praise her a lot when she does something good. There's no reason for this 6 month old dog who I've been consistently taking out to keep having problems. Please help.I DO NOT HIT MY DOG. I did mention that. I wouldn't hit her ever, I use positive reinforcement- lots of praise and treats. And the only time she's ever roaming the house is when I'm home, otherwise she's with my parents or locked in my room. As for consistent timing- I take her out when we get up, after her naps, after her meals and a lot in between. moreResolved Question: I need a business name!?
We are starting a business selling rabbit hutches, aviaries, dog kennels, pump sheds, chicken coops, planter boxes and pretty much anything that can be made out of wood and doesnt need to be in perfect condition (eg indoor furniture). We also dont want to limit ourselves to just wood for the future. Our last name is James. Any ideas would be great! moreResolved Question: okay i asked this question earlier and got no help whatsoever on any REAL ideas.?
I have a 4 month old baby and 2 dogs. We took in a friends dog becuase he had left her in a kennel 24/7 just giving her food and water at his mothers house( he has his own reason which is no ones business but they are life and death to his brother) But anyways we took her in abotu a month ago. I tried to train her I have tried even obediance trainers and everything. She wont listen to me. SHe will listen to my husband... now i have a puppy (GSD/rotti) he listens to me but wont listen to my husband. since we got him so young he has always been around my scent and my babies scent. He is great with the baby. Listens very well to me and is super smart. The lab is pretty smart but she just recently started to have a jaumping problem. She ran over my son a few nights ago I punished her. I went to get her from her kennel the next day (they run off and may get hit by cars if not kept in a kennel) and she jumped up on me knocking me to the ground and scratching me. I was shocked. I told her no but all she did was keep jumping. We have asked help form numerous "experts" but they did nothing to help us. I am at the point (this weekend if i get no real help) this dog will be going to her previous owners again. I can not have her doing this my son has been inching crawling and when he does crawl she will knock him over a lot. I had our puppy so early i have been tuggin on his tail and ears and making him lay still when someone is near him so he will be great for our son. Hes VERY tolerant. Any ideas what i can do for this dog... She also was taught to throw balls at ppl so we cant have any type of toys around =( She throws them at any person including the baby. She is not crate trained AT ALL and never had been. I dont wanna leave her outside in a pen all day cause if that happens she is better off with her previous owners (i think anways) I like her but if she wotn listen to me and my husband is gone 14 hours a day this is a HUGE issue. I have tried to play with her, train her with simple sit stay come, I have tried everything i could think of but she wont listen. When she trampled my son that was it. My son is higher in the pack then animals. He has always been on the floor with no issues. Even the puppy at 8 weeks old was great with him. Took only a week to train him to lick the baby once or twice. He has never had a chewing issue or clawing or anything. so i can train a dog. he is proof of that. My son ultimately comes first. Its not my place to take this dog to a rescue center or anything my only options are to keep her or give her back to the previous owners. Would i be doign the right thing taking her back seeing as my puppy would be an inside crate trained dog and she would be an outside dog only coming in to sleep or when weather is bad. Dogs need room to run and need people and honestly i could do that when she was good and not running over people but what happened suddenly to make her do this? nothing changed in our life or life style.... the baby doesnt mess with her and she doesnt mess with him... she just randomly ran over him full run. If she seriously hurt my baby I wouldnt be able to forgive myself for trying to keep her and my son gets priority to be on the floor to learn to crawl and be a baby. So shoudl i take her back and if you think its the wrong thing what can i do to make it right to keep her? Ive tried training, ive tried spending time in playing training attention everything but she wont listen to me and im at my wits end with her. I tried doign the right thing by taking her in and it cost my son one booboo i dont want it to cost him anything serious like a big booboo or worse.okay these dogs run outside on 4 acres of land at leats 3 hours a day they get plenty of exercise includign swimming. my son is never unsupervised besides sleeping. period. and i have stated i have tried to do simple tricks with her and she just wont do them. And if you do not tell the dog no how will they ever know what is wrong or right? moreResolved Question: thinking of starting a pet transportation company...?
so i was thinking of starting a dog walking business, but there are already so many around where i live.. so i thought of starting a pet transportation company. i would Pick up and delivery to or from: airports, veterinarians, groomers, kennels, work your home and or anywhere you need to go, with or without the owner.. that way you don't need to rearrange your schedule or having to take a day off work. do you think anyone would be interested in using this company. how much would you pay for a trip... thanks very much moreResolved Question: 18 Week Female Yorkie---She's a NIGHTMARE!!!?
So in April I lost my previous dog due to a severe lack of intelligence...not on my part. My boyfriends friend was supposed to keep an eye on her while he went to the store (I was out of town) and she ran into the road and was hit... After the wounds healed, I decided to try again. I am a dog owner, and always will be. I got a 12 week old Yorkie puppy, adorable. Well, my late dog was three, almost four so I had forgotten what it was like to have a puppy....She's a nightmare! I am not one who gives up easily so I will try pretty much anything! POTTY TRAINING- We have been working on this a lot! She has learned not to potty in her kennel, which is a start. But, as soon as I get home and take her out to do her business...she goes right back in the house and does it on my carpet. I allow plenty of time because I know puppies have to do it once or twice to clear it all out...I usually clap my hands or make some kind of loud noise when she does it...and then take her out immediately! Am I doing something wrong here? OBEDIENCE-Again, nightmare! I crate her before I leave for work, and she bites the hell out of the bars and breaks her teeth! And then she begins to hypersalivate and screams bloody murder! I leave snacks, toys, food, water and music on to calm her down. I even got a pillow that makes a heartbeat sound! Its supposed to calm puppies I guess....This is a risk to her health, I am very tempted to give her a light sedative so she will be calm until I have been gone a while. She isnt screaming when I got home and listened from the outside, its only when I get inside! ALSO! She is the most stubborn mule I have ever had! I tell her no, push her away and she does it again! She chews everything including the crotch of my panties!!! She has all sorts of toys, kong balls, treats, socks, stuffed animals to play with yet she destroyed my house plant (fake) WTF? My other dog wasnt nearly this bad, what am I doing wrong? Is it just her breed because I have heard that yorkies are stubborn! Beyond that, I am considering dog obedience courses...but that is an all time last resort!*UPDATE* First of all for the jack A** who just trashed on me, get a life dude! I am not an irresponsible owner and I am trying, if I didn't care the dog would be in the pound by now so don't even dare try to judge me!*2nd Update* I have tried the potty pads, and she doesn't want anything to do with them. So I ditched that idea! Also, with her crate, she is okay with it when shes not locked up! She runs in and out of it, sometimes lies down in it...gets a drink or grabs a quite bite to eat..I don't know, this dog is a bit on the neurotic side...the most complicated little thing I have ever had to deal with! And she gets distracted so easy too, and acts like shes not listening kind of like a teenager LOL with selective hearing! moreResolved Question: I need help on whether to stay where I am or switch venues for my dog grooming business?? please help!!?

I have a 2 year old male beagle who won't stop barking in the night. About an hour and a half ago, I let him outside to take care of business. He stayed out for probably 20 minutes, then he was eager to come in. Then about 15 minutes ago, he started barking again. I checked his water bowl, which was full, and gave him some Children's Benadryl to see if that would help, and so far it hasn't. Anyway, eventually, I let him and my other beagle out of there kennels to just roam around my storage room until they fell asleep, but he's still barking. Tomorrow I think I'm going to get a muzzle for him (just to where at night), but what can I do just for tonight?Cats seem like pointless animals unless you need them for killing rodents and such.Well he never barks during the day, and hasn't barked in a while in the night.Sonnie, Just listening to the vet.Okay everybody, sorry for all the additional details but I have to say things. He is a year old, and has always done his business outside. Last month, he peed in his kennel twice. This week he has pooped in his kennel twice. I'm not sure why as 1. he is outside all day until I let him in at night. 2. he is only in his kennel from 11pm to 6am. 3. he has been fine with this for a year 4. we have not changed his diet at all. Why would a dog suddenly start doing this? Normally dogs wont poop or pee in their kennels where they sleep. it's just the perfect size for him, not too enormously big, but not too small either.FYI hippie girl he's in his kennel while we are asleep so that he's not running around the house, eating cat poop from the little box, and getting into other things. moreResolved Question: information on starting my own dog boarding/kennel business?

Hi all, i have a lab husky mix and hes always been a great dog. He's always been aggressive to others and other animals. He's never bitten anyone and we have been working very hard on his behavior with that. Since we started working on pack structure with him and trying to get him to be less aggressive, he has started handler aggression.Never towards me but to my husband. He knows when he's out of line but lately he's been pushing his boundaries. Last night i got up to go to the restroom and finished my business and saw he was awake and bent down to say hi, well when i did that he growled and jumped on me and my husband heard my panic and woke up yelled at him and grabbed him and kenneled him.Well in the midst of all this he tried doing the same to my husband (attack). Does anyone know what could have caused this behavior all of a sudden? He does dream alot and is vocal when he's dreaming and usually barks. Could this have something to do with it?? Hi This is a pretty long story but please read it and give me your opinion. Ok so I am 17 and I was very depressed for a long time. I tried to kill myself 4 times and I was in a psychiatric hospital for 3 months. I decided to give life another shot on my terms and I dropped out of school and I was starting a boarding kennels. I wanted to put them at my dads house but it needs a lot of work, and my mum who is able to afford it wouldnt pay for it to be done there. My mum said she would pay for wooden kennels and runs in her back garden, which I sort of agreed to,even though I wanted them to be done properly. Then she said she would built really good indoor kennels and pay for it to be done properly. We had builders organized and they were supposed to start the day after tomorrow, but this morning she said she changed her mind and said if I wanted a boarding kennels it would just be the runs and outdoor kennels and we could keep extra dogs in cages in the shed. I would never keep someone else's dog or any dog for that matter in a cage all the time so I said no, that I would not do that. She said she would do it herself and I could do whatever I wanted. I did so much work around her house, it looked like a landfill before and now it is like this perfect little house in the countryside. I know she only let me think she would build the kennels so I would do all this work. I feel so used. And she stole my business plan. I cant even set up a kennels at my dads house now(like my dad thinks I should do) as the two houses are directly across the road from each other and she would be set up long before me, and I would get no business. I dont know what to do. What am I supposed to do? I have no way of making money because the only thing I am good at is looking after dogs. I cant go back to school, and I really wouldnt want to anyway. I just feel so betrayed. moreResolved Question: I need some ideas on what's best for my puppy while i'm at work?
I just got my 5 year old son a 9 week old jack russel puppy a couple days ago. I wasn't quite ready for it since my schedule is very hectic this time of year, but i couldn't say no. The owner of his daycare breeds them, and she brought the pups in for the children to play with, and it was love at first sight for them both. They've spent every moment together at the daycare for the past 2 weeks, and are litterally inseperable. We got her home on saturday night and she is doing great. She had 2 accidents the first night, mainly my fault because i didn't see the signs that she had to go. I've been crate training her, so the first night, i was waking up every 2 hours to take her out. She had one accident in the crate. She pee'd in the one corner and stayed far away from it. The next day went even better. No accidents in the house, and that night no accidents in the crate. She actually lets out a bark to wake me up already. Here is where it gets tricky. I work 8 hour days, and am too far away too come home at lunch to let her out. I asked a dog trainer what my best course of action would be for her during the day when i was at work. I was thinking about setting up an outdoor kennel for her to give her alot of room to play and do her business while i was gone, since i have a nice big yard. The trainer told me that it would actually be very bad for the puppy's health to keep her outside all day, not to mention i live in the country, and there are alot of stray cats and wild animals. She said my only option would be to keep her inside, since she is such a tiny thing. So, either i crate her all day, or set up a x-pen. I would lock her in the bathroom, but i honestly think her crate is bigger. She didn't recommend the x-pen with potty pads because she said since the potty training was going so well, it would almost train her to pee in the house and would kill the amazing progress we made in 2 days. She recomended a larger crate to give her room to play and do her business. So, monday i crated her up before i left for work. I got one of those expandable crates that comes with the divider grates so you could make the crate bigger as she gets older. But instead of using it as a divider, i hooked it onto the bottom of the cage, suspended right above the pull out plastic tray bottom. I put a soft bed ontop of the grate. Now she has a bed with a small stepdown to the plasic tray. I figured that if she had to go, she'd go there instead of on her bed. The first day it worked like a charm. I placed a small bowl of water in there for her, and stuffed a kong with treats along with some other teething toys. I got home monday, and it worked great. She pooped twice on the plastic tray and had a small puddle of pee there as well. Her bed was dry, and she kept her toys on the bed with her. When i got home, again, she didn't have any accidents in the house, and she went potty for me every hour when i took her out. But, right before bedtime, i was getting ready to take her out when i noticed she went right in her crate. I thought that she was learning it was bedtime already and was shocked. Instead, she crawled in her bed, and started to pee. I picked her up quickly and got her outside. I cleaned up the trickle in her bed, crated her up, and went to sleep.....again letting her out every 2 hours during the night. She had a few accidents again, but still did her business for me every time i took her out. The next morning, i cleaned her crate out really good again, and did the same thing i did the day before. When i got home today i found her in a mess. She pee'd and pooped on the plastic tray, but her bed was also heavily soiled. She also had poop on most of her toys. I cleaned and disinfected the crate and toys, and washed her bedding again. She still didn't have an accident in the house and is still doing her business every time i take her out, but i notice she still wants to go in her crate to go potty, which i stop her before she has the chance to. It is now wed. morning, she only had one accident all night, and i'm just wondering what i should do at this point. I feel bad enough keeping her in a crate for 8 hours during the day, but i don't want her playing in her poop and pee all day too. I feed her well in the morning, of course make sure she has plenty of time to play and do her business before i leave. Then i feed her again after i get home, making sure i give her undivided attention all night. I don't let her drink or eat anything past 730. We usually go to bed around 10. What do you think the best thing i could do is? She went from not liking to pee and poo in her crate to rolling around in it in just 2 days. I want to fix this before it gets any worse, just don't know what the best thing to do is. The owner of the daycare said it was ok if i dropped her off with my son in the morning, but she has a couple kids to take care of during the day too, and she doesn't really have the time to devote to the puppy training. My next door neighbors have 3 large dogs. They have them contained in a privacy fence so none of them are ever in our yard, but every time me,my husband,or my child goes outside, they run up to the fence and bark until we go back inside. We can never enjoy our backyard, swim,or do anything. As long as we were in our house, they never barked. Now, my husband got a dog, built him a large kennel cage and now those dogs NEVER stop barking. The neighbors usually let their dogs out at 7am and that's when the barking starts and ends at around 9:30-10pm when they take them in. I know alot of your are probably saying to just "go talk to the neighbor" but it's not that easy. My husband and the neighbor had words one day. The neighbor was cutting his grass and my husband was working in the flower bed next to our house when he heard a noise whiz by him and then shattered our window. My husband went over and politely explained to him what happened and the guy just shrugged it off and went about his business. That's when they had words. Also, the neighbor's father is good friends with the City Judge. I talked to my father about it and he said that technically they aren't doing anything wrong because our city noise ordinance states that loud noises before 7am and after 10pm are prohibited(something to that extent) What do I do? BTW Our dog is over 300 feet away from their fence and he never barks moreVoting Question: Why Is My Dog Throwing Up?
I have a 3 year old Purebred American Pit Bull Terrier and she is vomiting. She started doing this last week but it only lasted for a few hours so I assumed maybe she had a fur ball or something so I called my Vet and asked them and they said she may have had one to keep an eye on her and obviously if it kept happening to bring her in. She didn't start doing it again until yesterday and it seems it would come in spurts. What she is throwing up is nothing more then a white, foamy liquid. The strange thing is she keeps licking the carpet, which I assume that may be an attempt to make herself vomit because I know they normally eat grass but there is at least a foot of snow where I live and she can't get to the grass. All cleaning products and medications are safely put away and none of my other dogs are vomiting so I don't believe it is something she got into unless it would have been outside. I don't leave her out there unattended. I have a 6 foot privacy fence and she goes out there and does her business and comes back in- except since the vomiting had occured I have caught her trying to chew on sticks and tree branches. She also ate part of her blanket that was in her kennel. She is still eating and drinking water. She's not very playful but she is a quiet dog to begin with so it's hard to say if her behavior has changed much in that area. I was wondering if anyone might have a clue as to what might be causing this? I will be taking her to the Vet today if she isn't any better. Thank you.I agree that my short haired pit alone wouldn't likely get a hairball from just licking herself but I have 3 other dogs, one who is pretty hairy and he does shed. I have to vacuum everyday and empty the canister on my vacuum several times because it is full. I thought maybe the dog food too but I haven't changed it. I will be taking her to the Vet.Also my dog has been known to have serious seperation anxiety issues. That thought came to my head as well. My boyfriend used to take her to work with him everyday and if he would miss a day she would chew anything she could get her mouth around. The thing with that is he is off because of an injury so 99% of the time someone is home with her. moreResolved Question: Dog parks/daycare/spas/bootcamp?
Putting aside the bad economy for a second... My husband is considering a career change, and he has a real talent with and passion for dogs. He's very good with dogs' behavior problems. He isn't a professional, but we've rescued some dogs that most people would consider hopeless, and he turned them around. We also possess a house out in the country, surrounded by farms, on about 9 acres of land. It's about 30 minutes from very affluent suburbs, and 45 minutes from a fairly big city (about half a million people, metro). I don't think that the city or suburbs have any good dog spas (the kind where you can kennel), bootcamps for training, or especially parks - the kind where you can train dogs for competitions or just let dogs play. I don't know if it's at all feasible and what the zoning issues would be, but it fits very nicely into my 20-year plan to start a no-kill dog sanctuary. Anyone know anything about this business? Is starting something like this 30 minutes outside the major population zone a feasible idea? I figured it might be best suited for a doggie training bootcamp, because (1) people tend to be really desperate to consider them and (2) it's not like they'd have to drive there every single day. But there's also the dog spa, because people may consider driving to a high-quality kennel when they're going out of town just so their dog gets better care. And the dog park idea might not be so feasible for people who just want to take their dogs to a park (there are very few parks in this area that allow dogs FYI), but I figure people who want to train their dogs for competitions will probably be willing to drive. And if my spouse put the effort in to become a professional trainer, he could do behavioral training as well as dog competition training. Any thoughts?Cheryl, thank you so much. This is the kind of info I need. Never apologize for long, detailed answers full of valuable information! I wish more people spent time like this on their answers. I will be e-mailing you soon (thanks so much for offering!) after I talk to my spouse so that I can ask more detailed, specific questions. His interests also sway towards rehabilitation, as do mine because of the dog sanctuary/shelter I want to start one day. (Though I suck at being a pack leader, I've got a business/nonprofit background.) He thinks that dog show training in addition would simply be a lot of fun. I hope you get your land one day. Thanks! moreResolved Question: I've decided to open up a pit bull rescue organization. Question:How do I get grants to start the business?
After watching Animal Cops I've become sad seeing how the pit bulls that people made fight are being put down because the automatically assume their going to be aggressive towards people. I have a spunky pit bull who was dog aggressive when I bought her, but with a little discipline and love she's gotten to the point where she now plays with all dogs. What hurt the most is seeing a 4month old puppy be put down because the owner made her fight. At only 4 months. So instead of just sitting and watching and thinking about doing something to help, Im GOING to help. I would like to start a pit Bulll rescue organization where we not only find foster homes but also help get the dogs therapy and have a shelter with large kennels with toys andtrainingn sessions. Unlike the average shelters where their in little metal cages or a little cubby sort of thing, where they have 1 tore up toy and shredded newspaper. Can anybody please give me information on how to start this business and information on what grants to apply for? Thank you so muchIm also in Detroit, Michigan moreResolved Question: What's a good business to start with these interests?
I am toying with the idea of starting a business. Difficult during these hard times I know but I want something I can turn from a hobby or interest into something I can truly love working at. My interests are mostly in the pet business area. My entrepreneur class focused on establishing a cat boarding business as my project. That I may be interested in. I like the outdoors and was considering a dog walking or dog clean up business. I love animals in general and am concerned for their well-being. I like to see dirty dogs cleaned up to be the best looking that they can be (dog makeovers!) and I love coffee. My ideas were a dog wash/coffee shop combo, either self serve pet wash or grooming available with a waiting area that sells coffee - OR- The cat boarding business, which would require me to renovate an existing kennel to be more comfortable for our feline companions Or dog walking/dog sitting/cat sitting. I have experience as a vet tech so I could give medications to boarders if they required them. What do you think is the best idea? I live in an area that is mostly middle class, but I'm near Annapolis so I think there would be some richer folks that would cater to their animals more. Looking forward to hearing your ideas and or suggestions! Thanks! moreResolved Question: My dog has ingested unsulation... Help?
My dog is a German Short-Haired Pointer, and is about 7 years of age now. He was of a masculine build and very energetic, but for the last 2 or 3 weeks now, his physique and personality has changed quite drastically. He is starting to become thin to the point where his ribs are starting to show slightly, and barely comes out of the kennel except to go to the bathroom. When he does his business, starting about 2-3 days ago it has been diarrhea, but today we noticed that it is also starting to consist of a significant amount of blood. All of this began a few days before Christmas when I happened to take a look inside of his kennel and saw that there was a hole in the wood, and where there was originally insulation, nothing was left. I am now becoming very concerned and frantically looking for a solution. Is there anybody who really knows what they are talking about and that can -professionally- guide me to what needs to be done? Thank you so much!!! Your answers are GREATLY appreciated! Thanks, a lot of you are giving me the obvious answers which I already know, I'm looking more for a vet's answer to this problem however. moreVoting Question: My dog has eaten an unknown amount of installation, and I really need help!?

There are many breeds that are not recognized by AKC. There has been a very heated/violent agrument for years between the ASCA (Australian Shepherd Club of America) and AKC folks that the Mini's are not a true breed. I've researched the entire issue and it's interesting. This all started when ASCA members left ASCA and started their own club for the "smaller" aussies. Some felt that the smaller aussies were not getting fair treatment when it came to events and placements. The smaller Aussies many feel out perform the larger ones, but because they are not "medium" (as called for in the ASCA standard) they were frowned upon and although better lost to the larger less quality/talented aussie. Well because they left ASCA, ASCA in turn now refuses to acknowledge "those" lines, breeders, clubs and it has really been a violent fight. ASCA pulled/denied the papers on all aussies that ever registered with the "Mini" clubs or breed to a registered Mini. Well you can imagine how many thousands of people/dogs that effected. Without ASCA papers, you were pretty dead in the water. MAny who had been breeding for decades suddenly found themselves with kennels full of aussies with no valid papers. Millions lost, and the dogs worthless pretty much. Tempers are high and it's very much not settled and continues right now as I type to you. The Mini is a breed, and it is an Aussie. But until the political games are over and the Mini Australian Shepherd Breeders/founding fathers to the club straghten up and quite attacking ASCA - this issue will never be resolved. If you talk to old time horsemen, the "Mini" has been around longer than the so-called ASCA/AKC Aussie and is by far the better breed! They work better, corner better and the injury rate is much lower. They can move in the cattle and horses, whatever easier because they are smaller. The larger Aussies tend to get hurt and injured at a higher rate. If you go to a herding event put on by ASCA, the herding Aussies are much smaller than the aussies in conformation showing as a rule. So there must be some truth behind all this. I meant my first Mini from a old timer true horsemen/shoe'er. It was the breed he bred and raised for his farm/family/business. It wasn't until I began researching the breed that I found out about all this bullshit between clubs and the who's who of aussie land. LOL To me it's a bunch of shit - honestly. The ASCA folks are vicious and do not care about dogship at all, it's all money and political. To some of thier points, yes I do believe that some of the Mini Aussies have been "created" if you will. Cross bred to Shelties, Papilions, etc...to make them smaller. However there are some very authentic breeders of true "smaller" aussies out there that have protected their lines, bred true and developed some wonderful Mini Aussies. moreResolved Question: I want to start a dog boarding and grooming business, how?
Suppose I have a house with a HUGE backyard and enough money to buy kennels, high quality food, heaters and everything we need. I will be the only owner and i will pay my brother, sister and boyfriend to help me. I will charge very little... I got this idea because I am having a really hard time finding a good boarding place for my dogs. I know that there's a lot of people in the same situation and i love dogs! What do i need? a website? flyers? what???? I'm a college student moreResolved Question: Dog I'm babysitting won't go to the bathroom outside?
I'm babysitting my uncles dog, it's only 1.5 years old. It never does its business outside! Instead it stays in the house and pees whenever someone touches it! I don't know what to do with her! I walk her every two hours for about 15 minutes, but I am forced to put her back in the kennel because I just KNOW she will pee. I feel so bad, because she's trapped in the kennel all day. but i don't know what else to do! She slept with my in my bed for two days and was fine. Also not eating or drinking either, yet she still has pee. ALSO, this morning i walked her for a good twenty minutes. as soon as she came into the house she ran to my room, jumped on my bed and started peeing! ON MY BED! this is why I don't trust her. it cost me 20 bucks to get my comforter cleaned, and she made me late for class. Should I charge my uncle? and what should i do with this dog?! moreVoting Question: I want to start a dog kennel. Where do I start?
I'm 18, I have a small warehouse at my disposal and I want to own sort of a pat hotel business. Owners pay x amount of money for so many days. Where do I start? Do I need legal consent? This is just a summer business with my younger sister. moreResolved Question: My 3 yr. old dog started going to the bathroom in the house.?
We have had her for 3 years, she was house broken immediately an hasn't gone in the house for almost three years now. I take her for a walk in the morning before work to do her business, put her in the kennel when I leave. I come home about 6 hours later, let her out again and let her out periodically to go after that. She sleeps in our room at night on her bed next to ours. She started going to the bathroom (poop) in the middle of the night. I figured I just didn't let her walk long enough, but she did it two more times. I started to put her in the kennel at night to maybe break her of it, but I let her out of her kennel this morning and before I could even get dressed to take her out, she went again. She knows to sit at the door when she needs to go, or she has even woken me up by licking me to take her out at night. Why is she doing this when she is house broken and what can I do to stop it? moreResolved Question: hi, i would like to start my own dog kennel/cattery business, i was wondering, how do i begin?

i' am a Taurus and she is a Pisces. 4 years ago when i first started college 19 i saw a girlfriend from high school and asked her if she had any friends that would like to go on a date. she did and funny thing is this girl she hooked me up with ran throughout my life and i didn't even know it. where i worked she lived pretty much next door, where i grew up her dads best friend was my neighbor and even my grandparents best friends went a mission for religion which brought her parents to this state and her dads friends are my dads business associates and did not even know it. Her and my relationship was very explosive and we clicked on everything and supported each other for whatever we did. Her parents especially her dad is a very strict man being russian orthodox. So it took many years for him to accept me. 3 years until he even recognized me and eventually loved me like a son. My parents loved her just the same and she even spent holidays like christmas together. So i had a childhood friend that was around me since grade school. we went and did alot together. he went to college somewhere and even came back after because he missed chillin with all of his old friends mainly me. We even went out and worked together in a different state for a while. My girlfriend was around him enough to understand him but he always had a girlfriend. I never thought what happened would. Me and her loved each other very much and it came down to this. within the past year she moved to california to pursue her career and we did the long distance thing because what i did i needed to be here. I ended moving there to be with her plus we had chosen out furniture and everything over the past year that we stored a my parents house. I lived with her for a month. Now when i got out there i was really out of my element. so i freaked out twice in front of her and that was a complete turnoff obviously. Because of her job she was able to take anyone she wanted to go on a trip and i just started a job. literally the day she left on her trip was my first day so i obviously stayed in our new place. She was able to take whoever she wanted with her because of her job. everytime other than this time it was me because my job permitted me to go. She took my friend who lived back in my home state and since i had alot of trust in him 15 years worth i wasn't worried. now i was working ya know trying to pay for our own way in a new area in a new place and we had just moved out of her old place cause it was to small for two. she had a dog she had adopted 2 years ago who i took care of partial of the time. so i also stayed so he wouldn't have to be put in a kennel. Now when she got back only after 6 days with my friend. she dumped me and because i was so naive i didn't even connect the two together. So after barely moving to a new place to start a new life with a love i got dumped. i cried and asked her why when she told me she did not want to do this anymore and she really couldn't give me an answer. Saying its me not you. I know that means its me. So to my shock after 4 years with my g/f she dumped me to be with my friend who i allowed to go on a trip together and surprisingly he lives with her in our place only 4 days after we broke up in a different state. I know there is much more to it than that. They do have alot in common like music and style wise and all that but is really over just like that. She even changed her phone number on me. i never bothered her and only called her once about it when i really found out what had happened. I was mad of course because how can this have happened. i gave her all the freedom in the world. i loved her for whatever she wanted and we kept in very close contact even in the long distance time. seeing each other for a couple of days once a month. because of this i'am so heartbroken to have hooked two people in my life up that have been in it for years. i don't know how to feel and i have cried and i don't know how to laugh. iam very depressed and i miss her. it has been two months and i can't believe it. i need help. because of my own personal issues did i push my soul mate away forever. She says she is happier than she has been in a long time. i don't bother with emails and i know what her new phone number is and i know where her place is. and i don't take advantage of any of it. do i just wait it out. what do i do. do i be happy for her. do i drag my old buddy out and kick the sh!t out of him. now my old buddy has done this before with our friend in high school but i had his back of course and on a bunch of other stuff. my heart is so destroyed i can't even find a quantum of solace. i know that i fought with her a few times but isn't a relationship supposed to have fights. is it done just like that. moreTop Starting A Dog Kennel Business Links
