African Experiential Marketing Summit
The objective of the summit is to provide marketers and advertising agencies with a better understanding of marketing through experiences, rather than relying solely on the more traditional mediums in their marketing campaigns. It aims to offer insights and best practices through experiences of respected marketers and marketing campaigns, illustrating how carefully crafted experiential strategies can and have been successfully implemented.
This year's agenda features a mix of international and local industry leaders, including:
Bernd Schmitt - author of Experiential Marketing and Customer Experience Management, and CEO of the Ex Group.
Liz Bigham - director of Brand Marketing at Jack Morton, an experiential agency that has developed and executed many B-to-C and B-to-B events, as well as the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. more
A new name, a new brand for Robbinsville
She said the logo, branding and forthcoming marketing efforts will attract more businesses to the area.
"The synergy of all of them will be beneficial for the township," she said.
The next phase of the branding campaign includes marketing the new slogan, including increasing the number of businesses in the township and improving the vitality of existing businesses.
Originally intended to be unveiled at the township Community Day Festival last month, officials wanted more input from residents before deciding on a logo. Council members and the mayor unveiled their choice among several designs at Thursday's council meeting.
In April, the township decided to spend up to $25,000 to develop its "brand" and distinguish itself from other towns in New Jersey and other economic centers in the Mercer County area. more
Building businesses on Brand
It is not just marketing patterns and consumer behavior which needs to be studied and assessed but the right amalgamation of 4ps against the backdrop of technological innovation.Often the name of a person gets lost in the brand name, the one who pioneers the brand. For how many people can actually familiarize Sergey Brin and Larry Page with Google , one of the largest search engines in the world. And then how many do know that Anita Roddick is the one who was the founder of Body Shop. Whenever a new product is created, it enters the first phase of Product Life Cycle. This phase shows off a heavy penetration into the target segment from where it matures and finally reaches the crest which indeed requires an effective brand management and brand building. More so, in the highly competitive market where every other day a new product is introduced, management of a brand has become tougher and caused difficulty to the consumer in choice of a particular brand. more
Fama Signs MoU With Purecane On Sugar Cane Purchase
Badruddin said the PPT, a one-stop centre, would be a catalyst to develop and expand the strategy for the marketing of sugar cane in Malaysia. Apart from encouraging the involvement of farmers in sugar cane cultivation in an agricultural sector that holds much potential, especially when undertaken on a commercial basis, the PPT is also responsible for improving the demand for it, he said. "The PPT, when completed at the end of the year, will be equipped with laboratory facilities to test and maintain the quality of sugar cane for the local market as well as overseas," he said. -- BERNAMA

The problem, says Richard Kitchen, T Freemantle head of sales and marketing, was that pizza is a variable product: different toppings and bases result in different dimensions. Explaining how the issue was overcome, Kitchen says: "Our wraparound sleever wraps the narrow-band sleeve to the pizza. Then we have two fingers at the end of the machine that pull the two ends of the sleeve together before the glue is compressed. In effect, it’s a pack-squaring facility for irregular products." The units installed by T Freemantle are the first in the UK to apply a sleeve to pizzas, and have cut material use by 75%.But the drive to reduce material use doesn’t stop at switching from cartons to sleeves. Kitchen says retailer pressure is also pushing existing users of sleeves to minimise material usage.Short-sleeve formatsT Freemantle has responded to this challenge with a patent-pending sleeving concept that enables a 25% reduction in materials use in existing ready meal sleeve applications. more

Voting Question: I HAVE BEEN WORKING AS A TAX PREPARER FOR 3 YEARS. I WORK FOR A COMPANY WHO WILL BE CLOSING THE DOORS AFTER TH?
HOW TO START A TAX PREPARATION BUSINESS FROM HOME moreResolved Question: How hard would it be to become a Tax Accountant or preparer?
I am a stay at home mom and know some about taxes and have worked in accounting. I was thinking about starting a home business in taxes preparation. I was needing to know if anyone knows how long it takes, how hard it is and where would be the best place to go? Thank You moreResolved Question: How do I create a simple Web Page with a domain?
All I want to do is create a very simple web page - probably just one continuous page with nothing but text. It's for a bookkeeping business that I'm starting in the Connecticut / Rhode Island / Massachussets area and I already have most of the page designed in a Word document. I basically want people to be able to go my site - www.mybusinessname.com - and find a list of my services and my phone number. I also want to make sure it shows up on the first few pages when people google keywords, like "bookkeeping services in Connecticut" or "tax return preparation Massachussetts". So does anyone know how I can do this fast, easy, and for little or no cost? Do I just need to purchase a domain name? Or do I also need a site to "host" the text page? The more I research online, the more confusing it gets. I was hoping to be able to pick a domain name, upload a word document in a matter of minutes, and instantly have a simple webpage that actually shows up when people google it. But I'm starting to doubt it's even close to being that simple. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially step by step instructions. ThanksAfter a few more hours of online research I found my own answer. The easiest thing to do is just find a reliable webhosting company that provides everything for about $50 - $100 a year. The company that I just signed up with charged a total fee of about $80 for an entire year. The fee includes a domain name and professional website building software. It only took me a few hours to build the website, which has multiple pages and looks pretty damn professional. I started with a template and pretty much only needed basic MS Word skills to design the site. The company I signed up with is called Inmotion, but I'm sure there are other sites out there that are just as good, and other sites that are horrible. In fact, for every webhosting site you will find both good and bad reviews. Seriously, it is almost impossible to find unbiased reviews online, but this company had a lot more good reviews than most. moreVoting Question: My dad is starting a tax preparation business and I want to buy him something business centered for Christmas?
what would be a good gift? moreVoting Question: If I can't afford a CPA, then who or what should do my taxes?
For those of us in the lower marginal brackets, who should we let do our taxes? Up to this point, the overriding response (which I greatly appreciate, naysayers included) has been that CD-ROMS are still as innacurrate as the person deciding where the input goes, tax preparers in most states still not need licensing, therefore they are totally unreliable and unverifiable, and even large firms like H&R Block are still abound with errors. If all the aforementioned is correct, then who do I go to if I cannot afford a CPA? Apparently, any alternative to a CPA is no good. While this may be true, the majority of people will never use a CPA unless they absolutely have to, and can afford to do so. So, what if I want to do taxes and I have an accounting degree and one year tax experience, plus 5+ years of online preparation for myself and my family, plus drive and ability? Should I schlep around H&R Block when they are comfortable selling software to the unknowing and uneducated taxpayer? Should I try to work for some tax office whose manager has a GED and a gold tooth? What if these are my only alternatives to starting my own tax business? What if I have a family to feed? What if no CPA firm is currently hiring college graduates? What if I have IRS training, familiarity with a reputable software, produced by company who has a customer-service hotline, and I turn down taxpayers who require a very complex return. What if I could access a large, large base of potential clients with a couple of newspaper advertisements? Could I pull it off? Would I be probably end up being sued? What if I was the most ethical person you ever met? What if I was vehimately opposed to corrupt or questionable tax schemes? And, I made a consicous effort to not prepare returns that were too complex. (Remember, I am an accountant, I have had several tax and business classes, I have been exposed and tested on many tax issues, albeit some more difficult than others.) But, can it work if I work my ass off, I research whenever I get confused, I take proactive steps to limit any errors (such as I'm doing now), and I make sure to remain as professional to my clients as one would expect? Then what? Could it work? Remember, I'm planning on targeting a very large potential customer pool, in several cities. What are my odds? If so many others are doing it (GED and Gold Tooth), why cant I? Please, all opinions are sincerely appreciated. Even if you think I'm still a total idiot, I still really appreciate your opinion, so long as you rationalize. Anyways, thanks again for all your great answers. Please keep em coming. moreVoting Question: Why are so many tax preparers not accountants?
How come I have yet to have an actual accountant prepare my tax return? I've been to places like H&R Block and even to an IRS charity service, but my preparer has never been college educated. Does the H&R Block course really serve as a viable substitute for an accounting degree in terms of tax preparation? Are they that comprehensive? Why shouldn't I start my own tax business if I'm a recent accounting graduate with an IRS tax training course under my belt? What can less-educated people offer the general public that I cannot? Especially if I buy a good software package. How difficult could it be? moreResolved Question: I just finished with income tax preparations..where can I find a tax professional software to start a bussines?

If I try to go for my master's with only ONE concentration in information systems, then I'd have to spend more money and time being in school rather than starting a full-time career. Hi, I've always kind of had an interest in tax preparation, and was wondering in what might be a good route to go. I've already got a B.A. I've heard of the majors like HR Block, Jackson-Hewitt, Liberty, etc. But was just wondering if anyone has any advice who's been there? Is it possible to start a preparation business on your own, or do you need to be an accountant? I was looking at an associate's in accounting technology if that's necessary. Thanks!I do have a BA but correct, not in accounting...I was looking at some online classes, one of which kind of covers the basics in accounting through accounting technology, in the form of a certificate. I think they offer an associate's as well. Or would it be better to get some study guides for the SEE and take it from there? moreResolved Question: is this true Humor about the funny things in life You Know It Will Be a Bad Day When?

For some time, I have been thinking of starting a business by providing a service to help others budget their money. I talking about using the money that a person all ready earns and ways of using it wisely. I was planning to put together a budget plan on what to consider as far as goals and the pitfalls of spending beyond your means. I do not plan to advise people of buying investments because I am sure there are legal requirements and certifications that a person has to have. So what do you think of my idea? Hello All, I could use a little help with couple questions I have. I am interested in opening up tax return filing business. Would like to start with personal tax returns and eventually want to do both personal and business. My wife is in healthcare field and works on 1099 basis so our CPA advised her to open LLC in her name so we can show proper business expenses. Obviously our CPA would not be the best person to ask for me about opening up tax return business so I am asking if you guys think we should just open one LLC with both our field (tax preparation and healthcare servies) listed in business description when I apply for LLC with NJ state. Let me know if this is a sound strategy and whether you would recommend it. moreResolved Question: where can I find tax help for a small business withouth getting broke????
