Open Question: HOW TO DEAL WITH A F*CKING ANNOYING TEACHER!??!?!?

(sorry if this is long, but i just wanted to post everything she's done to me so that you guys can really understand it) OMIGOD I HATE MY SPANISH TEACHER!!! firstly, she gives out wayy too many tests. like there were two tests last week, there's one tomorrow, and there's another one on friday. i know i should expect to have a lot of tests in middle school, but this is just ridiculous! none of my other teachers give out so many tests. and i didn't do so well on my last test, and i told her it was because i was too overwelmed with other classes and that i was sorry. and wanna know what she said to me? "stop being a lazy bones and go study!" she's always so mean to me. like whenever i miss a homework (i don't miss homeworks a lot, but this is what she does whenever i do miss a homework) anyways whenever i miss a homework, she'll practically shout out to the class, "grace missed a homework! who's ever going to hire her in the working world??" i just think that's really mean. MY grades are MY personal business and i really don't need her shouting it out to the whole class. oh and once, she gave us a study guide to do that night with the answers attatched to the back, but she told us not to look at the back while we're doing it. so i did mine without looking at the back and then the next day when she was checking homework, she looked at mine and saw that i got all the answers right. and she just assumed that i looked at the back and took five points off for it!! i told her that i didn't and that she can't just assume that, but she said, "i don't believe you. you were just being lazy and decided to look at the back!" another time like a few months ago, i couldn't do my homework that was assigned over the weekend because over the weekend, i twisted my knee. well not actually my knee, but it was like the part of my leg right below my knee. so i told her about it on monday, but she still took off points for it! cause she was like, "sorry, but i'm going to need proof for a ridiculous story like that." that is so mean!! and i know i could've just shown her my leg, but i wasn't going to take off my boot and pull up my legging in the middle of class. so i told her that she could just ask my mom, but then she told me that i can't expect my mom to get me out of everything!! SO MEAN!! and she does this thing A LOT where she's like in the middle of a lecture and i'm looking at her and listening, but then she's like, "grace are you listening? are you still with us?" that's so bogus! I WAS STARING RIGHT AT HER!!!!!!!! and i wasn't even daydreaming or anything. and she does that A LOT. and once in the middle of class, i dropped my pencil, so i was like on the floor looking for it (not literally on the floor, but i was just bent over) and then she shouts, "GRACE YOU HAVE DETENTION!" i was so mad!! so after class, i asked her why she gave me the detention and she's like, "you weren't paying attention and instead you were just on the floor lollygagging." i told her that i was just looking for my pencil, but then she's like, "i don't wanna hear your excuses." oh and then today she was going around checking homework. and i wasn't able to do my homework last night because i lost the worksheet. and there's normally this website for our school where you can go on there and print out homework and stuff, but when i looked on there last night it wasn't there. so anyway, she was comming around checking homework and when she gets to me, i told her what happened and she said, "what are you talking about? of course i posted the homework document on the website." and then i told her that it wasn't on there, but she just kept denying it and she started yelling at me and calling me irresponsable! and then she went back to her desk and a few minutes later she asked me who my english teacher was (i don't know why) i asked her why, and then she's like, "don't be fresh with me, just tell me!" how is that being fresh!? i just wanted to know why she wanted to know that. and i didn't even say it in a mean way. oh and last week when we were getting our tests back, i got mine back and i looked at question number 7 and saw that i got it wrong. so i asked my friend who got that question right if she could tell me what she got. so she told me her answer, and i was shocked because our answers were like practically the same but yet i still got it wrong!! so i asked my teacher why i got it wrong and she's like, "go back to your seat, i don't have time to deal with your problems right now." but then someone else came up to her to ask her a question and she was happy to answer it!! so what am i going to do about this? how do i deal with her during class? more

I think I have an idea of what you would call someone who does this but I thought I would double check and see if other knew what you would call someone with this job/business. What would you call a business or person who is kind of like a wedding or party planner but for a small business? They basically help with just the looks and the image of the business? They would take someone starting a small business and help them establish their "brand" by connecting them with sub contractors who can accomplish the things they need for their business? Such as, they would help you figure out what kinds of things you would need for your business like business cards, websites, letterheads, logo, etc? They would maybe start out as helping you figure out the best approach on what your business should look like? Picking out colors, finding someone to make a logo, and then deciding ways to advertise your business online? I realize this is kind of a scattered post but I can't think of what you would call this person or business. Someone who takes care of building the look of the company and sub contracting to programmers, designers, and print companies? Also, what degrees would they have? Would this mainly fall under branding and marketing or would it be a business coach? Thank you :D more

Open Question: Can I "file search" for a file in the "open" dialog box in Photoshop?

Hello! There's one cool tool I love in windows. Typically when I go to file/open, my open dialog box has a "search" box, where I can start typing in a file name, and it begins to load any files/folders with that word. THIS IS A HUUUUUGGE help for me at my business because we have THOUSANDS of directories organized by customer's job number and order name. It's so easy to find a file in every other dialog box, but photoshop won't let you do that! My business is graphic design and printing and looking through folders sometimes takes too much of my time. Is there a way to make the OPEN dialog box have the search box? Is there a fix, or patch, or anything???Let me add that I'm currently using Windows Vista Home Premium.One more thing... I KNOW that bridge does this, but bridge is too clunky, and the idea is to get to where I need to be FAST. more

Lending to investors is one thing because if they make a profit, they can start a business, thus employee people who get fed, and on and on. But giving Americans who don't invest and are just trying to live a fat lifestyle that they do not support, how does this fix the problem? Infact, lending banks was part of the problem. The more they lend, the more debt we have. Why is this? And why should we continue that way? Why can't people see that we pay huge intrest rates for printing our own money? Open Question: How to resolve a city complaint by a neighbor?

Sorry to bug people but I'm trying to find the answer online but can't seem to locate it. I have a registered business in California. I basically sell stuff online and house all my inventory in my own house. Because it is starting to grow a little, I have decided to drop off inventory and boxes to my friends house every morning. He prints all the labels, packages the boxes, and a Fedex truck picks up from his place every evening. There's about 10-30 packages going out every week day and they are not very large. He places the boxes in front of his own garage and blocks no neighbors at all. Fast forward to a month later and all of a sudden, he receives a complaint. A neighbor filed a complaint with the city that he is running an illegal business and an inspector would come out to check things out. So, now my question is, how would I be able to resolve this? I am a legal business and I am just having him do some of the work. Would I need to present my business permit to the inspector? Would I need to register his address when I file? If anyone has any ideas, I would definitely like to hear about it. Thank you very much for your time. more

Open Question: Why is she trying to irritate me?

A good friend of mine got married 2 years ago and yes this guy like me then and know. As a matter of fact he fools around on his wife. As a good friend I stay out their relationship. I am also friends with her. Right before they got married she would follow me and him when we would have business meeting, we work together. She would also pick on me by picking out any flows or weakness that I may have like a spot or something on my blouse she would make a big deal about it. Then she left me alone. Know she has started again. She went to the table and picked up a program that I print out once a month and ask me did we have anymore programs I told her no, it being the last day of the month that is all we need. I told her that I print out programs once a month per my supervisor her husand. The she ask me why is it dated for the first of the month, I told her because that is when I printed the program. Then she ask me about another program I had to explain to her that this so called second program is not a program that it was a news letter then she left me alone. She knows all of this. She knows that I clean the restrooms and she went in the lady's part and came out with a pin and said out loud I found this in the sink in the pipe. The people around her just look a her crazy. You have to really look down the dran to find something in there. My guess she was looking for something to talk or complain about. I know that she has seen her man staring at me or even talking to me normal but looking at me like he want me. He does a lot of women like that. I not sleeping around or anything with her husband! She even gave me a big hugg and sniffed my neck. more

Hi! I am taking my 2009 tax return and investing it in starting out a part-time photography business. I've been researching various brands and models and still cannot decide on what SLR to purchase. Mind you, I don't want to blow my entire refund, but I'm willing to make a fairly substantial investment. That said, I'd consider myself more intermediate, than amateur. I'd like to be able to photograph both outdoors, as well as in, and I'll be working with models. Most important to me, too, is the ability to eventually do fine art quality prints. A professional photographer friend of mind recommended the Nikon D90, but I'm having hesitation about spending that much. Initially, I'd been looking at something like the Canon Rebel XSi. Resolved Question: Should I hand over the reins to the profit-making part of my business to a national company?

When I'm not doing PI work, I'm just a lowly journalism instructor at a junior college but, as a sidelight, started a newspaper in the New York Metro area. The first issue will come out a day after my 40th birthday on Sunday. Anyhow, early on, when I was looking for ways to fund this project, I pitched the idea to a national media company. They loved the idea and we went back and forth with contract details over the winter break and are almost to terms. They would have exclusive rights to sell ads and take 20% of the gross revenue. BUT, in this time of negotiations, I couldn't just put out a paper without ads, so, being a college journalism expert, I sent out an email to potential advertisers I knew at other colleges, explaining my new publication and sold a good deal of advertising right off the bat. I sold numerous ads in all five upcoming spring issues and will make a profit of at least four times my investment with minimal work on that end. Once I actually print an issue and have something to show the more tepid potential advertisers, I could even double that. So now I'm rethinking signing the exclusive contract with the national company. I'm not a pro seller, but can do this myself and keep 100%. My wife thinks it would be crazy not to sign with the national company, though, as they have so many more connections than me and are probably more professional when it comes to sales. What's your take? more

He goes to the sport's bar, which is a recent obsession, and drinks a TON. He think's it's "cool". And ignores the family. This is just the beginning. So basically, he doesn't give ANY money to my Mom, or anyone in the family, and he makes good money, yet we have none. Last month, I was helping him on the computer, and was showing him how to save a print screen picture, when in the pictures folder, had all of this hidden porn, my Mom, was there too. I pretended to not see this, but it was quit sad. On my birthday, he was suppose to pick me up, and bring me to the bank, when he stopped at the sports bar. BTW, he's gaining weight. Which I told him I did not want to do, but he ignored me. And kept me there for 3 hours. He complains to me about how he eat's the same food's as I do, yet gains more weight. I am active, and don't spend all day looking at fucking porn and drinking and eating food. He eat's easily double the amount of food I do. He's creepy too, he will watch tv show's with my younger sister, who is 12, and literally watch it just to see the fucking girls. He's starting to make sex jokes, and talk about how sexy some women are, and point them out to me in public. I'm his fucking son for crist sake, and he's fucking married. Just this weekend, he was picking me up from my friends house, when he eases off the gas and stares to the left, at this blonde chick with big boobs. It's fucking gross to see him do that. Worst part is, he doesn't think I notice it. He will be like "look at that rack on that girl". I fucking hate his guts. He will stuff his face for 6 months, and gain a lot of weight. I get it fixed, and my mom and I wanted to back up the data, when he refused to. 4 days later, he fry's the computer, the Hard Drive won't even work, I hooked it up to my pc, but it doesn't spin, my Mom spen't years on artwork, all for nothing because of his selfish-ness. He had the password for their account that they shared, and she forgot it, and he refused to give it to her. Probably because he has porn on it. My life is pathetic, I try hard in school, and get good grades, and he doesn't aknowledge anything. His parents gave him the money to go to college, but he spen't it on a motorcycle and moved to the west coast. My favorite thing to do, is go to the mountains with my friends. I was going to see a few old friends of mine, which I haven't seen in 4 years, they moved to the east coast, they wen't to the mountains, and I was suppose to go with them, but couldn't because my Dad financially fucked us over. She was crying, and was sad because my Dad was there, and she couldn't open the door for him because he was drunk of his ass. My Mom then arrives, and he immediately causes a scene. My Mom had to threaten to call the cops on him while he yelled, and caused a scene infront of their house. When he get's back home, he act's like nothing happened. Infact, the next day, he couldn't remember a thing. At hiI ran out of space, but here goes the rest of it. At his old job, he was fired because he was greedy. He thought he would make more money by doing a deal (he worked for Monex) with a guy, and selling him gold before the check's arrived, and when the check's arrived, they bounced. He was fired. And didn't have a job for 3 months. He didn't even look for a job. He just worked out all day, and pretty much ignored us. He got a job right before we lost our house, last minute. I FUCKING HATE HIM. He recked my birthday, for his enjoyment. He doesn't even let me have a birthday party, he keeps all of the families income in a separate bank account, and only gives us what we need to survive(and somehow spends the rest). He's ruining my life, and I can't fucking tolerate him. I'm not even saying any of the bad things he has done, because morally to me, that is going TOO far with this. We just started our Photography business in 2009, and are sort of re-vamping for 2010. We don't have a studio and usually meet clients where its convenient (house, coffee shop). Currently we bring 2 sample albums (exact replica of what the clients got), and 2 scrapbook albums with prints, and our laptop, which people can see full weddings if they really want too. We're in a the low bracket for weddings, so I think bringing all of this is sort of our way of proving our quality, since our main way of advertising is craigslist, and most people we meet are scared that we're scammers. But now that we have about 20 weddings under our belt, and most of them have left us reviews on weddingwire, onewed. We were thinking of cutting down. Would you want to see that much if you were meeting a photographer? Or would maybe one sample album and the laptop (which has multiple weddings) be enough? I am a high school student and the school that I go to is in the process of cutting several jobs and programs due to our budget, or lack there of. For 15 years my school and another school in the county have performed a musical at a local outdoor theater. Of course music and the arts are the first things to go in these situations so now our 15 year old tradition is not going to be continued. When our directors announced that this was the first program that was cut, there were a lot of tears and even more very angry students. We came together today and decided to hold a show ourselves. We understand that this will be very hard work and are all going to have to do our best. We are realizing that we are going to have to raise all of our own money and have to create and manage our own budget. Then there are the money issues. At this point we are looking for a show to do but we need a show that is not so popular that the rights are going to be astronomical. In addition to rights we will have to pay for staff, rehearsal space, stage space, costumes, sets, advertisements,and printing costs of programs. We have estimated roughly $20,000. We are just kids but taking this on is basically the equivalent of starting a small business because we will have to pay taxes now that we are not connected with the school systems. We are looking for advice. Anything that will help get this show running. Although I will be graduating soon it breaks my heart to see this tradition end. I am in the market for a color laser printer to use in my home-based custom stationery business. I currently use an inkjet printer with good results, but would like a faster machine, the flexibility of printing on coated paper and ink that doesn't smear when wet. I use 100 pound paper most of the time, but also use 24# copy paper and 80#-110# paper for various projects. I need to be able to print the card stock from the auto feeder....not manually feed it! I print approximately 500 sheets/week during my busy times. I would like to spend no more than $500 or so, but will spend more if a machine is worth it. I've also just started hearing about the Xerox Phaser solid ink printers and wondered if I should consider those? more

I don't have any license yet, but will get one next week. I'm unemployed so I started selling things around my apartment since a few months ago. And I have also pick up a hobby of crafting, and sell sell the things I made. I was told that I have to file schedule C on internet incomes. I sell my things on ebay and etsy and have all my transaction on paypal. I buy everything and sell everything mainly online. And I also print shipping postage on paypal so I have no paper receipts to keep at all. I upload all my transaction from paypal to outright (Bookkeeping Program) and trying to sort out my expense. I put Shipping fee, paypal, ebay, etsy fees under "Cost of Goods Sold and I also put things that I buy then resell on ebay under "Cost of Goods Sold." After all the sorting, it shows I have $2000 income on the first line. But after all the fees and deductions, I have -$400 loss on "Net profit or (loss)" What's the point of me filing it when I'm not even making money? Is it really necessary for me file this income? The schedule C s very complicated, but plan to file it with my husband's tax return. Turbo tax fee version don't have Schedule C, so I plan to get the home and business edition. Resolved Question: My mom is down in her finances an i can't help! I feel terrible when she calls me to complain. What do I do?

My mom has worked hard all of her life. The majority of it has been in sells where she has always excelled, from car sells to a screen printing business with my Dad before they divorced, to the mortgage and credit business starting in 2003. She has never had a problem making money on straight commission. But since June, she has not been able to close a mortgage loan. Everything she submits is turned down because of the cautiousness of the industry today. She has been making ends meet by using her IRA. She is remarried and her husband works 7 days a week in the cleaning business and he pays his part of the bills, but she is struggling with her bills. She is mid 50's and is looking for something else, but she calls me and complains. I listen and try to say something encouraging but she always comes back with something worse. Problem with all of this is, I can't do anything to help after she had always helped me in the past and I feel like that is so unfair. I am also in my 3rd trimester of a hi risk pregnancy with my 3rd child. My husband lost his job in June and is just now getting back to work so we have struggled too. Its just so unfair that I can not help her financially or even seem to say good words to her. What can I do? Now employers are hiring people and actually out and out telling lies. Three times this year i have herd of people getting a job and all three times these employer tout all of the opportunities in their place of business. Then they find out they were hired on just to cover a persons vacation and then get let go. I just got let go from a job I started last Dec 3rd. They gave me very little hours, but I stuck with it because they said that hours would pick up and they wanted to make me a manager. Then I got a phone call tonight and the man said I was terminated effective immediately. I asked why and they said they did not have to answer that question good bye. So they hired me when the college students were going home and fire me as soon as they come back. I smell a rat. I always showed up. I was always on time, clean and pleasant with customers. I am highly professional and approachable. I even took my training material home like they said and studied on my own time, unpaid. I had to print off all of my own training material and tax forms for the job. They never even took my ssc from me. I know it is just poor business practice. Hello. :) I'm just starting out as a freelance designer, and I'm in the midst of writing up my loan proposal. I've hit a few snags while writing out my expenses/ income, and I need a little bit of input with a few things. I'm using a business plan template supplied by a local lender, and it has a 12-month financial plan with boxes for me to fill in. I calculated my sales, business rent, owner's draw, and utilities. The only boxes left blank are 'Other income' (Would this constitute revision fees and fees for things like printing and mailing, or is that factored into the sales? If so, should I just leave this field blank?), 'Cost of Goods Sold' (IE materials, no idea how much this costs month-to-month), 'Equipment', and 'Business insurance'. As for the equipment category, wouldn't this mean printers and such, and if so, isn't it a one-time expense? Should I just enter the expenses in month one? Also, how much does business insurance cost for a sole proprietorship Graphic Design business that is renting it's 140 square foot office in a 1950's era two-story stone building, and has gross profits of less than $50,000 per year? I have been helping families in the Philippines for five years now. I am not working regularly now and can not keep up with the needs of these great people. At this time, their needs are as follows: Maizen (age 16) – Lost her one year old baby Aubrey on 12/7 due to fever for an undermined reason. The fever was not treated since medicine is not administered unless money is paid. The baby died after 9 days. Maizen also has a 2 year old. She was burned on her face a few days after the death of the first child when the house caught fire. Maizen does not live in the home of her family since she lives miles away where she is working; she lives where she works. Note: Pfizer late last year blocked attempts by the Philippines Government to force lower prices for common medication. Sheryl (age 23) – High School educate, the only one in the family, and has a two year old baby from rape. She supports her family which includes; a mother and father, 3 year old Dave, 17 year old Mark, 14 year old Michelle and 20 year old Hazel. I was able to provide them housing on 12/23; they are out of food now since 12/26 and have eaten only one meal since. I have provided Sheryl with money for medication for Sepsis and 4 other illnesses, and an August 2009 a hit and run injury. I also provided funds for her daughter’s asthma and her sister’s asthma. Joann (age 24) – Is homeless since 12/23. The family she supports when she works includes her 70 year old mother and 77 year old father; the father had a stroke a year ago. She has a brother age 34 who works scavenging for almost anything to sell. He does a lot to provide food for the family. He captures stray dogs; the family eats dog once a week. Other family members are her sister age 28 and her sister’s five kids. The fifth child was born as a result of a conjugal visit with her husband who is in jail; he was arrested for selling drugs 3 years ago and has 2 more years to serve; he was selling to support the family. Conditions in the jails are such that prisoners are constantly sick and coughing, have open sores and diseases. None of the kids have ever gone to school. Although school is said to be free, the cost in fact, especially in Luzon, is 540 pesos a month; there are also fees for almost anything that you would expect to have free. Shortly after I met Joann she was coughing a lot and it was determined that she has TB. I paid for her TB treatment, about 70 USD a month for 6 months. She was only given half a monthly dose to take home with her at one time, since she could not refrigerate the medication. She had another brother who died 6 years ago at age 33. I have been helping many Filipinos, mostly young women and teens; working to support their parents. I provide money so they can obtain food, shelter, medicine, travel and education. I have also helped some to start small businesses and I have sent books several times to an elementary school in Mindanao. I visited Mindanao in 2007. I am currently challenged by my own underemployment and limited resources. As it stands now there are few people who I have talked to and have contacted who care enough about people there; I seem to be unique that way. I stick with them as a good family member would through thick and thin. Often last year those who needed medical help had to wait until I could afford to help them. Eventually I will start a non-profit organization. I am now concerned with the immediate effects of not helping them which has brought hunger, homelessness, illness, injuries and even death. Generally speaking 50 to 150 dollars now and another $100 to $200 for a small business would be the solution. When they can eat well, and stay healthy the kids can go to school and work in the expanding family business. I helped open a small photo shop in Mindanao; it is now a large print and business center also. I am also interested in learning more about the psychology of giving; who gives and why. I see it as important that everyone helps someone it the developing world. One person in the United States has the Global Footprint of ten in the Philippines. Were it not for our advantage in doing business with the developing world, we would never have become a wealthy nation. While we think counties such as Switzerland and Japan are grand; Switzerland derives most of its wealth from money laundering and 10% or Japan’s economy is driven by pornography. Dubai gets money from gold laundering! I know one woman who supports an orphanage in Ethiopia; a former Miss Ethiopia. Not mentioned is the girl whose six year old brother is dying of untreated fever. A girl who’s 18 year old brother was recently stabbed by a gang; she is requesting fund to go home to see him, he is 50/50.
