End of load shedding for Jo’burg — City Power

THE City of Johannesburg assured residents and businesses yesterday that load shedding was a thing of the past — even if Eskom requested a cut in supply — as City Power had enough additional electricity .

City Power MD Silas Zimu and councillor Roslynn Greeff said the municipality’s mitigation programme had been successful in producing more than 500MW of additional power. “Even if Eskom asked us to load shed, we won’t as the City of Johannesburg,” Greeff said.

Mayor Amos Masondo said the council would approve Eskom’s additional electricity tariff of 20,6% on Thursday, and it would be implemented next Friday. “This increase is a direct result of the National Energy Regulator of SA’s decision to allow Eskom to levy an additional increase of 13,3% on its customers on the already approved 14,2% increase,” he said . more

WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IntervalZero Inc., a new Embedded

Citrix, the global leader in application delivery infrastructure, acquired Ardence's Enterprise and Embedded software businesses in January 2007. Although Citrix determined that the Ardence Embedded products were not a good fit for its Enterprise product portfolio, Citrix has signaled confidence in the IntervalZero's management and in the future of Embedded technology by making an equity investment in IntervalZero.

"We believe there are significant opportunities in Embedded technology, but it is not a core business for Citrix. To continue to grow and succeed, the Embedded business needed both the focus and the investment that Jeff and the IntervalZero team are fully committed to delivering. Their approach to the market and their business model are sound, which is why we have maintained a stake in the IntervalZero," said Lou Shipley, VP and General Manager of Citrix's Xen Products Group, which is based in Bedford, MA. more
