moreOpen Question: Editing help......???
If you have a few minutes to spare, could anyone please, please help me edit my paper.
For many years, people have been debating how medical insurance should be paid: Whether private payment or government payment or some combination.
Private payment means one would pay for ones own insurance. Government payment would mean the government pays for ones insurance. If the government were to pay for ones insurance, it would limit ones abilities. Also, Government already has to cover Medicare, Social Security, Government housing, the Federal Housing Committee, and the collapse of the Financial Institutions. To a lot of thoughtful people, the only way to fix the health insurance crisis in the United States is to get the federal government to cover everyone.
In most states, individuals can be denied coverage for any number of reasons, so it is wise to request and compare more than one individual health insurance quote. The extra short-term effort that's required to apply for individual medical insurance plans is easily worth the long-term savings. If one is insuring ones family, as opposed to just oneself, there are some additional considerations to take into account. Even if one does receive coverage through an employer-sponsored health plan, one should consider the cost-saving benefits of switching to a family medical insurance policy or moving some of your family members off of your group policy into a family policy.
Most Americans receive their health coverage through some type of group health insurance. Although large corporations with hundreds or even thousands of employees have the bargaining power to negotiate with medical insurance companies for custom health plans for their workers, the small business owner must still research options and compare prices from multiple providers. Since small business health insurance offers guaranteed coverage to all employees in a given company, it can be difficult and time consuming for a small business owner to find the best policy. Most major colleges and universities require their full-time students to have medical insurance. While many of these same schools also offer their own student health plan, it is wise to explore his or her options. Typically the school will provide the minimum requirements that a health policy must meet in order to waive coverage under the school's policy. As a senior over 65, one is likely covered under some combination of Medicare plans. Changes in recent years to the federal government's medical insurance program for seniors has created a complex system with rigid enrollment timelines.
Currently, we have a mixed system, where the government heavily intervenes in health care. In Canada and Great Britain, they have fully governmental health care systems, but a black market of private medicine exists. The government regulates which drugs are available on the market, through the FDA and through the agencies that fight its War on Drugs. Currently, drug companies are granted monopoly privileges called "patents" that give them the exclusive right to sell their drug for 17 years. A few years ago, Congress passed legislation which actually outlawed the importation of cheaper drugs from other countries and prohibited the federal government's health insurance programs (such as Medicare and Medicaid) from negotiating for lower prices. This provision was repealed by the Democrats after they won control of Congress.
Britain, Canada, Japan and a number of other rich countries do so, and they each spend less money on health care than the United States does. They also do not have major companies, like General Motors, flirting with bankruptcy in large part because of the cost of health benefits
Health insurers made $100 billion in profits last year, and industries of that size are just not legislated out of business, said Jonathan Gruber, an economist. The party that controls the White House and Congress also opposes the idea. Republicans have their own utopian notions, which generally involve letting loose the free market for Americans to demand better care on their own. The discussion has basically been paralyzed for years. In the meantime, the problem has grown worse. In the United States, forty-six million people lack health insurance, according to the most recent estimate, up from thirty-one million in 1987.
Massachusetts changed the terms of the debate. Governor Mitt Romney, a Republican, and the State Legislature, controlled by the Democrats, reached a deal to cover almost everyone in the state. The plan will cut the cost of health insurance for families that do not have it and make it free for many poor families. The state will also require every resident to have insurance or face a stiff fine. The plan breaks free of the usual ideological shackles by dealing with both of the big reasons that nearly one- sixth of the U.S. population lacks insurance. One, many people cannot afford it. Two, some who can afford it imagin

I've been working for this company for 4 years. No one wants to quit at my company, people who've worked there for 10 years work just as hard as they did on their first day to keep their job.
The company gives employees the best in medical insurance, you're pretty much covered for everything with that health plan. It includes dental and the cost of medicines prescribed by a licensed doctor. It covers you, and you family.
There's this engineer, he started a small business two years ago. He and his wife were co-workers, she quit to run the business while he stayed working. The business is ran by his wife while he's at work. The business grew in great proportions in the last 2 years. He makes twice what his supervisor makes.
He has a wife, and 2 children. He says he doesn't leave the company because of the health coverage.
What would you think of him if you were his boss?

What would you change?
NOTE: This is of course a bullet list as YA won't allow a 15 page document to be uploaded :)
Erick: What points do you disagree with? Why?
Princess K: As far as the mandatory service goes, that is really based on whether or not you want the privilege of voting. Note this service is in the defensive national guard, not the regular military. Our Founders said defense of this country is the duty of every citizen and if you were unwilling to do so, we neither want nor ask for your council.
Istainjaa: You pay for the voluntary health care. The program is based on using the buying power of an entire state to create a lower price structure, much like a larger company can get lower rates than my little business with 10 employees.
Currently the Federal government supports unemployment. Federal charity is unconsititutional.
Malcolm Equis: I've sent you an email to help clarify since my response is to long winded for an "edit".
Erick: It is a Federal insurance program you pay into. Actually our proposal uses non-profit insurance providers that bid for States. So technically the federal government only outlines the minimum program requirements and monitors performance - the providers do the rest.
Federal charity is unconstitutional, so any assistance programs would have to exist at the State level.
Pampoulmouse: The 15th week was selected based on the development cycle of a fetus. During the 15th - 18th weeks the fetus develops a cerebral cortex, which allows an individual consciousness to form and therefore the possiblity of emotional harm develops. Prior to that it is little more than a growth.
James L: I do not support isolationism. I do support non-interventionism. The internal affairs of another nation are not our concern, and we should respect their national sovereignty if we expect them to respect ours. Trade is the key to diplomacy. Most of our current issues on the world stage evolved from interference and maintaining a cold war military structure. Bad ideas.
My attitude is we will leave you alone until you give us a valid reason not to. Then we should punish you for it.
Spock for Prez:
1. Why the need to add the bit about transfer of custody? We already have systems in place to allow adoption of a foreign child. My neighbors just adopted a Russian baby.
2. How does your marriage amendment protect liberty?
3. Interesting thoughts on the religion issue.

1. Yes. Yes I expect that if you are going to log into Yahoo Answers, at whatever time you choose to do so, that you will be able to comprehend the questions posted there - regardless of their depth. Considering I posted this closer to 1am in my time zone, at 11:50 you should be rested and ready to go.
2. Yes. Yes I know the agenda set forth here is hard. Does the fact that something is hard make it less worthwhile to do? Where would we be if our Founders had said, "Revolution is hard, we probably shouldn't."? How many doctors would we have if they said,"Meical school is hard, I think I'll quite before I start."? Those who focus on the obstacles never see the goal.
3. No. I am not a Libertarian, but I am an individualist. I'm certainly not a Democrat or Republican. I support the Constitution and the political ideals of our Founding Fathers, but I'm not a Constitutionalist - to much church and state.
4. Are you saying I'm right-wing or you are?

I just found out that I'm paying almost twice what a male co-worker is for our HMO (at a small business).
We are both single, within 5 years of each other age wise and we have identical coverage. His thoughts were that they charge more for females because of the possibility of pregnancy. That smacks of discrimination to me, but I can't confirm that.

Remove the favorable tax treatment of employer-sponsored insurance and provide a tax credit to all individuals and families to increase incentives for insurance coverage; promote insurance competition; and contain costs through payment changes to providers, tort reform and other measures.

Require all children to have health insurance, and employers to offer employee health benefits or contribute to the cost of the new public program. Expand Medicaid and SCHIP and create the National Health Insurance Exchange through which small businesses and individuals without access to other public programs or employer-based coverage could enroll in a new public plan, like Medicare, or in a range of approved private plans.

Along with some other information that tells more about this type of insurance employers can take out on the employees. Any good suggestions as far as creativity. I probably will not leave because they have people from other places beg from money before you even get through the door. I do not want money just to pass this along.

What Every American Needs to Know
Excerpted, with permission, from James Hightower,"Thieves in High Places"
The owners of one of America's premiere retail corporations is comprised of five of the ten richest people in the world, all from the same family.
Their personal wealth eclipses $100 BILLION dollars. Last year the company's CEO was paid a cool $11.5 million, more than the annual salaries of 765 of his employees combined! The company's profits are over $7 BILLION annually.
In these difficult economic times how do they do it?
* This company runs ads featuring the United States flag and proclaims "We Buy American". In 2001 they moved their worldwide purchasing headquarters to China and are the largest importer of Chinese goods in the US, purchasing over $10 BILLION of Chinese-made products annually. Products made mostly by women and children working in the labor hell-holes China is famous for.
* Their average employee working in the US makes $15,000 a year, $7.22 per hour!
* These employees gross under $11,000 a year.
* The company brags that 70% of their employees are full time, but fails to disclose that they count anyone working 28 hours a week or more as full time.
* There are no health care benefits unless you have worked for the company for two years.
* With a turnover rate averaging above 50% per year, only 38% of their 1.3 million employees have health care coverage. -In California alone it's estimated that the taxpayers pay over $20 million annually to subsidize health care benefits for these employees who get none from this behemoth corporation.
* According to a report by PBS's "Now" with Bill Moyer, their managers are trained in what government social programs are available for these"employees" to take advantage of so that the company can pass on those costs to you and me. It allows them to not only keep their $7 BILLION in annual profits, but to do so by substituting benefits they refuse to provide with benefits paid for with taxpayer dollars.
* This company holds the record for the most suits filed against it by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. A lawyer from "Business Week" (not exactly the bastion for supporting Labor) said, "I have never seen this kind of blatant disregard for the law." They had to pay $750,000.00 in Arizona for blatant discrimination against the disabled! The judge was so incensed that he also order them to run commercials admitting their guilt.
* The National Labor Relations Board has issued over 40 formal complaints against the corporation in 25 different states in just the past five years. The NLRB's top lawyer believed that their labor violations, such as Illegal spying on employees, fraudulent record keeping, falsifying time cards to avoid paying overtime, threats, illegal firings for union organizing etc., were so widespread that he was looking into filing a very rare national complaint against the company. (The company contributed $2,159,330.00 to GW Bush and the GOP in 2000 and 2002. The NLRB attorney was replaced when President Bush took office.).
* Nearly 1 MILLION women are involved in the largest class-action suit every filed against a corporation. Although women make up over 65% of this corporations work force only 10% of them are managers. The women who have become store managers make $16,400 a year LESS then the men.
* The corporation took out nearly 350,000 life insurance policies on their employees. They did not tell the employees and then named the corporation as the beneficiary. They are now being sued by numerous employees, and although the corporation has stopped this practice of purchasing what is known as "Dead Peasant Policy's", a company spokesperson stated, "The company feels it acted properly and legally in doing this."
* They force employees to work after ordering them to punch out. In Texas alone this practice of "wage theft" is estimated to have cost employees $30 million per year. Wage theft or "off-the-clock" lawsuits are pending in 25 states. In New Mexico they paid $400,000.00 in one suit and in Colorado they had to pay $50 MILLION to settle one class-action case brought against them. In Oregon a jury found them guilty of locking employees in the building and of forcing unpaid overtime.
* With 4,400 stores they practice "predatory pricing." They come into a community and sell their goods at below cost until they drive local businesses under. Once they have cap
moreResolved Question: Health insurance after spouse death.?
My wife and I each have individual HDHP. When we have children and add them to one of our plans, what would happen if that individual died and the child in the meantime had developed a disease or condition that is uninsurable. The safest method would be to insure children on both plans, although that is also the most expensive. The cheapest would be to drop one plan and have everyone on a single plan. Can you name both parents as primary so that if one dies the whole family keeps the policy or does there have to be one single primary? My wife and I both own a small business and can do whatever we like when purchasing insurance.
moreResolved Question: Why dont we just do a flat tax and move forward? 20% of what you make...100% access to good healthcare?
No retirement worries. You get X % of what you earned in your lifetime.
No freaking out if you picked the right stocks so you could retire with dignity and not have to bag groceries because the market crashed?
One MONTH off work every year; youryearly vacation....just like the Europeans.
(Yes..those Repubs who haven't been out of your own state...they take off for a MONTH and travel.....a paid vacation)
Millions of Americans lost entire retirement money/benefits by (oft crooked) companies going out of business...or laying off a 25 year employee 6 months or year before they were eligible for benefits
It wasn't long ago, if you worked for a company that had 10 or more employees, they were REQUIRED BY LAW to furnish health insurance. All these laws vanished under the Great Bush Train Robbery. Oh, and this new plan includes total dental....not the discount BS these insurance companies offer.
If you got sick...cancer, etc. You wouldn't get wiped out. If Hedge fund manager makes 100 million...he pays 20%. If you make 20,000 a year..you pay 20%. If Mick Jaggger makes 200,000 a show in the US...he pays 20%. If Google makes 2 billion...they pay 20%
{Maybe it needs to be 25%, but you get a higher quality of life}
Along with this...THE SBA gets expanded. If you have the ability, you can open your own small business.
Right...you can actually get rich if you are smart enough under this 'social support system' plan.
*******Would you take a trade off like this?
There would be more social support systems in place with such a plan, too numerous to mention
(even Warren Buffet says his secretary pays a higher tax rate than he does....Buffet was very vocal about the stupidity of the original Bush tax cuts years ago)
...Let all the accountants go get retrained. They can all go built new roads, bridges and schools.. wind turbines...(ha)

Just because someone experienced economic difficulties in their life does not mean they are lazy bums or poor planners that ruined things for themselves! Things happen! Further more, even those whom you consider to be lazy deserve healthcare because they are HUMAN!
How can you expect someone to build something for nothing?!!! DO you know how hard it is to pay for health insurance if you are not one of the select few, plus wait for it for months to go through only to be rejected for some crazy reason? "Get a job" is not that simple! Sometimes working 80 hours a week isn't enough to meet all of your needs, let alone pay for healthcare!
You say that you are hardworking. You say that you don't feel it is your responsibility to pay for other's shortcomings! But how do you expect society to function if there are so many people living off the thin end of the stick? And why the heck are you so terrified of having a little bit of your money taken from you in order to help keep society healthy? Taxes don't slow an economy, in the end they better it by ensuring that everyone has the basic rights that all human beings need, ensuring that children will grow up not worrying so much for mommy because she is wondering how she is going to pay for the medical bills, and giving those in a bad situation a chance to thrive and better themselves through affordable healthcare!
If you were in the position of someone who needed affordable healthcare, would you enjoy being denied it? What if your own kids grew up and something happened and suddenly they couldn't afford to buy health insurance? Would you like that? Furthermore, have you ever been really sick? Have you ever lost a job only to find that you can't afford to buy new health insurance even though you are a hardworking citizen?
You can say all you want about lazy people that leach off the system, but it the end, you are denying your fellow man a basic human right. This country is supposed to be a family, not a divided line. Everyone deserves affordable healthcare. To say otherwise is to say that there are some that are less human than yourself.
My father, for example, owned a small business and one of the core tools he needed to run it was the ability to think quick on his feet, manage the budget and speak to clients on the phone or in person. However, during the economic crisis his business shut down. Shortly after, he suffered a mild stroke that impaired his ability to speak and think. Of course, he could no longer perform the tasks needed for his job and sunk into a deep depression. Oh, did I mention he was also a diehard republican? This hardworking man suddenly couldn't pay his extensive bills and because we lost our business, we had to buy new healthcare, which was incredibly costly to do with only my mother now taking care of us. Shortly after, he developed diabetes and broke his hip in a fall. When we took him to the hospital, they threw him out because we didn't have adequate healthcare at the time, repairing his leg half assedly and leaving him worse off. The rest of our family helped us out the best they could, but were also suffering from economic crisis as well. Now my dad is in wheelchair and stays in a government run nursing home because he couldn't get the proper healthcare that he needed at the time. My mother works as hard as ANY AMERICAN and cannot afford to watch my father. My father was a hardworking man who fell on troubled times and bad circumstances, and his country failed to help him when he needed it most. My mother barely can afford her healthcare and is sick from all the worrying she does.
Don't tell me that it's not your fault. Don't tell me that it's not your job to provide for others. How can you live with yourself and at the same time deny people the right to stay healthy? I'm not trying to force my story on you, but my God, where is your humanity? What is this fear of something being taken from you? Thank god I'm not sick or else I would be terrified! I myself at 21 can barely afford to buy healthcare being in college(which is also ridiculously expensive thanks to your party) and am actually still waiting to be approved after 6 months! How's that for corrupt?
On a second note, this is "rant" is not meant to bring attention to MY family's problems, but to illustrate a point. I can think of countless stories as bad or worse than mine, but I don't have the room to post them. Just talk to people and you will see what I mean, or watch these videos if you are too "lazy" to inform yourself about your fellow man!

How can you say in good conscience that these people don't deserve affordable healthcare! Not only that, but this videos also serve to show how corrupt the health insurance companies are, and the reconstruction they need.
To Jethro and all others- so what if I'm 21? I've watched my parents as well as many others work hard and suffer! And for the record, I DO NOT work a desk job, I am a waitress that busts her ass every day just to help pay the bills and aid my family. And who said that I don't appreciate the sacrifices of the US soldiers? But are THEY being denied healthcare? Probably not in comparison to the rest of us! I don't need to be older to understand what human beings need. As far as paying for college, well, tell me why everyone in Canada or the rest of the civilized world can afford school? Geee, I think EVERYONE in those countries wants to go to school...Hmmm, in fact, more of them are in school percentageise than the US! So what if we are a bigger country, we can accomadate! And as far as for the middleclass, you will not be taxed considerably because you don't make enough money!!!Hello!

moreVoting Question: Bankruptcy for medical bills? Medicaid? Will they take my mom's house?
My dad was just diagnosed with terminal cancer. They have no health insurance. They have applied for medicaid, but my mom is afraid she will lose her home and their small business (their only source of income) if they qualify. Do you think it is better to not go through medicaid and let the medical bills pile up and then have my mom file for bankruptcy when this is all said and done? I was told she may be able to keep her home that way. Anyone been through this before and have some good advice?

A small business owner with less than 10 employees and earning well under $250,000. The owner cannot afford to provide health insurance for his employees or his own family.
What will happen to his business under Obama? Will he be forced to provide health insurance or pay a penalty?
moreResolved Question: how will Obama's health care plan effect small Business?
my husband works at a small business that does not offer health insurance. Will we be effected by Obama's plan?
moreVoting Question: Can you help me decide who the last person to be laid off will be?
A group of over 100,000 small businesses owners have pledged to layoff Obama supporters first when they cut their workforce due to the inevitable rising costs directly associated with the fabulous Obama tax plans.
I have already decided on the first 4 Obama supporters to layoff and they were easy. All four have a bit of a time getting to work. They are either late or call in sick frequently. I am fairly sure 3 of them are either coke or pill heads while the other has terrible "allergies" that affect his eyes, making them very red all the time. lol They are actually not the best workers and I have been wanting to let them go for sometime now.
However, I am having a problem deciding on the 5th one. One is a college student who is pretty dimwitted. She thinks Obama is "hot" and her greatest hero is Oprah. She is a fairly good worker but she is a bit arrogant and not well liked by the rest of the staff.
The second is a single mom of 1 who is constantly crying about money and the fact that she has no health insurance. I do offer health care but she "can't afford" the extra $40.00 per week to pay for it. However, she recently had a boob job that she financed. In addition, she is always groomed to perfection......hair, nails, designer clothing, etc.....she drives a pretty nice car and goes out frequently after work. Her parents care for her little boy while she is at work and play.
So, help me out here. Which one would you layoff if you were me? I need to decide quickly to adjust my schedules before the busy season comes. The people I am keeping will be very happy to have any of the additional hours if necessary but that is unlikley. I will be closing 1 day per week for the first time in 9 years instead of operating a full 7 days a week.
Ahhh, vacation!
FYI** I own a restaurant and have 27 employees.
Do you honestly think I am stupid enough to tell them why they are the first to go? I am closing 1 day per week and I do not need them.

i work for myself and can only afford one part-time employee. i don't have any health insurance as i can't afford it. i have taxes to pay, single dad who's supposed to get child support (but the mother hasn't paid in two years), i have to pay for workers comp insurance plus business bonding/insurance, i pay child support for another child that doesn't live with me, i have the business vehicle payment plus insurance, equipment payments, place of business (lease payment), and basically all the other overhead that comes with the business which is my only source of income.
i don't have an employer to get health insurance from according to obama's plan so mccain's credit of 5k so i can go get my own policy obviously is attractive to me.
which candidate's plan better suits me here?

moreResolved Question: Will Catholics Vote for Obama?
What Barack Obama Will Do
An Obama administration will do more than a McCain administration for the cause of life, by drastically reducing abortions through giving women and families the support and the tools they need to choose life. Barack Obama will continue to strive to make a life with dignity for all from the beginning to the end of life possible - by making sure health care is affordable, combating poverty, providing good paying jobs, and ensuring security in life's final years.
Support for Women and Families
Sen. Obama supports paid maternity leave to make sure families won't lose their employment and much needed income from having a child.
Sen. Obama supports legislation to allow 'sick-leave' to also cover one's sick children.
Expand programs like the successful Nurse-Family Partnership to all low-income, first-time mothers. The Nurse-Family Partnership provides home visits by trained registered nurses to low-income expectant mothers and their families.
Sen. Obama has committed to making investment in affordable daycare and supports a refundable Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit would allow families to receive a 50 percent credit on up to $3,000 of childcare.
Sen. Obama will cut taxes for 95 percent of all working families and will cut middle class taxes three times as much as Sen. McCain.
Fatherhood and Responsibility
Obama is a cosponsor of the Responsible Fatherhood and Healthy Families Act, which encourages personal responsibility and includes provisions for domestic violence prevention and improved collection and distribution of child support.
Listen to Senator Obama's groundbreaking Father's Day speech on fatherhood and personal responsibility here.
Health Care
Obama is committed to signing health legislation by the end of his first term in office that will guarantee affordable healthcare for every American.
Under the Obama health plan, no one would be denied health care coverage because of a pre-existing condition. He would change the bizarre practice of pregnancy being listed in many health coverage plans as a "pre-existing condition."
Sen. Obama is a strong advocate for the expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) to provide health care to children in low-income families.
Tackling Poverty
Obama will expand the Earned Income Tax Credit to help lift many families out of poverty. His plan will increase the number of working parents eligible for EITC benefits, increase the benefit available to parents who support their children through child support payments, and reduce the EITC marriage penalty.
Obama supports Catholic Charities USA's stated goal to cut domestic poverty in half in ten years.
Obama will make sure that full-time workers can earn a wage that allows them to raise their families and live with dignity. Obama will raise the minimum wage to $9.50 an hour by 2011 and index it to inflation.
Senator Obama supports the expansion of the leading program that provides nutritional support for low-income pregnant women and their infants and children (WIC).
Supporting Adoption
Sen. Obama has been a proponent of increased support for adoption agencies and an expanded adoption tax credit.
Late-Term Abortion
Obama opposes late term abortions, with a clear exception for the mother's life and health:
"I have repeatedly said that I think it's entirely appropriate for states to restrict or even prohibit late-term abortions as long as there is a strict, well-defined exception for the health of the mother. Now, I don't think that 'mental distress' qualifies as the health of the mother. I think it has to be a serious physical issue that arises in pregnancy, where there are real, significant problems to the mother carrying that child to term."
- Senator Obama in an interview with Relevant magazine, July 1, 2008
Sen. McCain has voted against measures that would support pregnant women and families that need it most:
McCain voted against extending Medicaid coverage to pregnant women and infants up to one year of age with incomes below the Federal poverty line.
Senator McCain voted twice against the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), one of the largest support programs for pregnant women and poor children, which would have provided health care to an additional 3.2 million children and continuing coverage for the more than 6 million children already dependent on the care.
Senator McCain has opposed increases in funding to nutritional support program for pregnant women and infants (WIC) that has proven to be one of the most effective programs in supporting women to carry their pregnancies to term.
McCain voted against increased funding for child care and does not have a plan to help families make child care affordable.
Sen. McCain has voted to increase taxes on local small business nurseries and childcare providers.
He has voted against minimum wage increases at least 19 times and voted to completely repe
moreResolved Question: How will Obama create new jobs?
Explain that to me, please.
But read this article first:
"I interviewed two plumbing company owners over the weekend about Barack Obama's economic proposals for small business.
One has 15 employees and 12 trucks. The other has 52 employees and 34 trucks. They're Joe the Plumber, writ large.
Both owners had the same reaction to Obama's proposed new taxes and mandates. To not have their bottom lines reduced by government fiat, both said they'd be forced to lay off employees.
Specifically, here's what the owner of the larger firm said regarding six of Obama's key proposals for the small-business sector: The average wage at his company, figuring the 52 paychecks of his office staff, installers and service workers, is $31,200, $15 an hour.
First, "Barack Obama and Joe Biden will require that employers provide seven paid sick days per year," states the Obama campaign's Web site. "I give three paid sick days," explained the business owner. His extra cost for this one new regulation would be $24,960 (4 extra days, 52 employees, at an average of $120 per day). "That's one of the women in the office," he said. "I can make up that cost by letting one of the office people go."
Second, Obama states that employers will be required to pay 100 percent of the cost of health insurance premiums for 100 percent of their employees or face a tax penalty. "I pay 75 percent of their coverage," explained the owner. "The family policy is about $11,000. For single guys, it's about $5,000." At an average annual cost of $7,000 per policy, his additional cost for 52 employees to cover the 25 percent of the premiums that he currently doesn't pay is $91,000. "That's the price of three installers," he said. "Just to stay even with where I am, I'd have to fire three more people or raise some prices and fire two."
The result is more unemployment or more inflation, or both.
Third, with the estate tax, Obama is calling for a top tax rate of 45 percent on estates valued above $3.5 million, producing an estimated "death tax" of $675,000 on an estate of $5 million. "You're kidding," he said. "They took half my income on the way up and now they want another half when I die?" He estimated that his business is already valued at more than $3 million, in addition to the value of his home and investments. "Why," he asked, "would I want to grow to 100 employees? What'll stop them from changing it to 75 percent?"
The cost in jobs that will never be created in the U.S. economy because of this single disincentive to growth? Incalculable.
Fourth, Obama's economic plan calls for a hike in the minimum wage to $9.50 an hour within three years. The business owner's reaction? "That's bad for two reasons. I don't have anyone at minimum, but raise the bottom by $3 and a guy making $15 wants $18. Plus it's bad for productivity when people think their pay raises are coming from government instead of from their own individual effort."
Fifth, saying he'll "play offense for organized labor," Obama is proposing that workers should be denied the right to a private ballot at work in deciding whether to unionize. "That'll never be," said the plumbing entrepreneur. "I'm in business because I'm independent, not to take orders from a grievance chairman. I'd shut down."
Sixth, the increase in taxes on this small business owner from Obama's proposed hike in the income tax rate from 36% to 39.8% on incomes above $200,000 and the proposed increase in Social Security taxes comes to $32,000 per year. "That's another employee," he said, referring to the termination of another installer in order to just stay even.
And the jobless plumbers? They can be re-socialized to work for ACORN.
As Obama explained in July: "We cannot continue to rely on our military to achieve the national security objectives we've set. We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded."
As "well funded" as our Armed Forces personnel comes to $119 billion per year in paychecks for "community activism," a lot of money for registering dead voters, caulking windows, making sure that all the guns are locked up at the municipal buildings, and monitoring the airways to make sure that conservatives don't have too many talk shows.
Bottom line, Obama's economic plan doesn't hold water. Neither will our pipes."
So, after reading that, please explain to me how he will create jobs?

As president Teddy Roosevelt broke up the large monopolies and corporations of his day to protect small businesses, ensure fair trade practices and to fight against price fixing. And he made the larger corporations pay their fair share of taxes because he was opposed to corporate socialism.
He believed in a form of capitalism where profit was fairly earned and not at the expense of the American people.
He was the first US president to favor Universal Health Care and wanted a National Health Insurance.
He broke up all the sweat shops and installed the first fair wages laws.
He implemented the first regulations that protected the American people from runaway greed.
He protected the environment from greedy exploiters.
So, my question is: if he were alive today and in politics would be a Republican as Republicans have become today or would he be more likely a Democrat?

moreResolved Question: Did Obama wow you last night? ?
Well hopefully your eyes were opened to his deceitfulness:
WASHINGTON – Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was less than upfront in his half-hour commercial Wednesday night about the costs of his programs and the crushing budget pressures he would face in office.
Obama's assertion that "I've offered spending cuts above and beyond" the expense of his promises is accepted only by his partisans. His vow to save money by "eliminating programs that don't work" masks his failure throughout the campaign to specify what those programs are — beyond the withdrawal of troops from Iraq.
A sampling of what voters heard in the ad, and what he didn't tell them:
THE SPIN: "That's why my health care plan includes improving information technology, requires coverage for preventive care and pre-existing conditions and lowers health care costs for the typical family by $2,500 a year."
THE FACTS: His plan does not lower premiums by $2,500, or any set amount. Obama hopes that by spending $50 billion over five years on electronic medical records and by improving access to proven disease management programs, among other steps, consumers will end up saving money. He uses an optimistic analysis to suggest cost reductions in national health care spending could amount to the equivalent of $2,500 for a family of four. Many economists are skeptical those savings can be achieved, but even if they are, it's not a certainty that every dollar would be passed on to consumers in the form of lower premiums.
___
THE SPIN: "I also believe every American has a right to affordable health care."
THE FACTS: That belief should not be confused with a guarantee of health coverage for all. He makes no such promise. Obama hinted as much in the ad when he said about the problem of the uninsured: "I want to start doing something about it." He would mandate coverage for children but not adults. His program is aimed at making insurance more affordable by offering the choice of government-subsidized coverage similar to that in a plan for federal employees and other steps, including requiring larger employers to share costs of insuring workers.
___
THE SPIN: "I've offered spending cuts above and beyond their cost."
THE FACTS: Independent analysts say both Obama and Republican John McCain would deepen the deficit. The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates Obama's policy proposals would add a net $428 billion to the deficit over four years — and that analysis accepts the savings he claims from spending cuts. The nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, whose other findings have been quoted approvingly by the Obama campaign, says: "Both John McCain and Barack Obama have proposed tax plans that would substantially increase the national debt over the next 10 years." The analysis goes on to say: "Neither candidate's plan would significantly increase economic growth unless offset by spending cuts or tax increases that the campaigns have not specified."
___
THE SPIN: "Here's what I'll do. Cut taxes for every working family making less than $200,000 a year. Give businesses a tax credit for every new employee that they hire right here in the U.S. over the next two years and eliminate tax breaks for companies that ship jobs overseas. Help homeowners who are making a good faith effort to pay their mortgages, by freezing foreclosures for 90 days. And just like after 9-11, we'll provide low-cost loans to help small businesses pay their workers and keep their doors open. "
THE FACTS: His proposals — the tax cuts, the low-cost loans, the $15 billion a year he promises for alternative energy, and more — cost money, and the country could be facing a record $1 trillion deficit next year. Indeed, Obama recently acknowledged — although not in his commercial — that: "The next president will have to scale back his agenda and some of his proposals."

Laura - Obama's speech became meaningless when he entered Wright's church and stayed there for 20 years listening to "Black Liberation theology" which is a twisted perversion of the Christian gospel and is heavily racist to the point of wanting to see white people exterminated.
Obama was born to a Muslim father, he had a Muslim grandfather, he was raised
by a Muslim step father, taught as a boy in a Muslim school, tutored by a man who was a sexual pervert and socialist during his early boyhood, attended the church Wright pastored which had many Muslim members, has been praised by Quaddafi and Hamas - Muslim terrorists,
and in an absent-minded moment on tv slipped and said "My Muslim faith."
His friends are terrorists and leaders who hate our nation and want her destroyed from without and within. He has not proven his citizenship, and his biggest campaign issue centered around race. He has promised that his future plans are heavily racial in purpose.
Christian? Never!
Obama voted 4 times against letting a baby receive medical attention if that baby survived an abortion. Fannie and Freddie paid him more than everyone but Chris Dodd and 39 times more than McCain. I believe McCain received a token payment to cover their tracks, and the big three; Dodd, Obama and Kerry were paid to keep their mouths shut or to continue their refusal to vote with Bush
regulate them. Obama has NEVER at any time declared he loves America, but has called our troops terrorists and has downgraded our Constitution. He has lied so many times about so many things
that it is hard to believe he means any of the things he says. He has vacillated on numerous issues, and has never instituted any legislation in his one year that he actually showed up for work in Illinois. He has can speak eloquently about nothing and people look beyond his lack of knowledge and experience like they are in a hypnotic trance. He is a fraud, and unworthy of the respect of any thinking person.
moreVoting Question: Four tax plans in four days? Can someone PLEASE explain this to me?
DEFINITION #1: The Obama-Biden Campaign Says Families Making $250,000 A Year Or Less Would See A Tax Cut
In July 2008, Barack Obama Said: "If You Make $250,000 A Year Or Less, We Will Not Raise Your Taxes. We Will Cut Your Taxes." (Barack Obama, Remarks, Powder Springs, GA, 7/8/08)
In August 2008, Obama Economic Policy Adviser Jason Furman Said That Barack Obama "Would Cut Taxes For Almost All Of The Families Making Less Than [$250,000]." FURMAN: "Finally, and perhaps most importantly, the op-ed today makes a very important point that, while Barack Obama would not raise taxes for any family making below $250,000 -- in fact, it would cut taxes for almost all of the families making less than that -- Senator McCain cannot make a similar promise for his tax plan because, for the first time in history, he would make families pay taxes on the health insurance that they get from their employers." (Obama For American, Press Conference Call, 8/14/08)
In October 2008, Governor Ted Strickland (D-OH) Delivered The Democrat Radio Response Saying That Those Making Less Than $250,000 Would See Lower Taxes. "He'll restore the middle class by cutting taxes for small businesses, and for 95 percent of workers and their families, including 5.7 million in Ohio. If you make less than $250,000, you won't see your taxes go up one single dime. In fact, your tax rates will be lower than they were under Ronald Reagan." (Governor Ted Strickland, Democratic Radio Response, 10/4/08)
DEFINITION #2: On Saturday, The Obama-Biden Campaign Releases A New Ad Bringing The Threshold Down To $200,000 From $250,000
In New Obama Ad -- "Defining Moment" -- The Threshold For The Obama Tax Plan For Families Seeing A Tax Cut Is Lowered From $250,000 To $200,000. OBAMA AD: "The Obama Plan: Families Making Less Than $200,000 Get Tax Cut." (Obama Ad, "Defining Moment," 10/25/08)
Barack Obama: "If You Have A Job, Pay Taxes And Make Less Than Two Hundred Thousand Dollars-A-Year, You'll Get A Tax Cut." (Obama Ad, "Defining Moment," 10/25/08)
DEFINITION #3: Yesterday, In An Interview With A Scranton, PA, News Station, Joe Biden Said That Only Families Making Under $150,000 Would Get A Tax Cut
Joe Biden: "Spreading the wealth was not--he was talking about is all of the tax breaks have gone to the very, very wealthy. For example you have right now, this year, under the old tax policy that was just that was put in by George Bush, people making an average 1.4 million a year, good people, decent people, patriotic they're going to get an $87 billion tax break. What we're saying is that $87 billion tax break doesn't need to go to people making an average of 1.4 million, it should go like it used to. It should go to middle class people -- people making under $150,000 a year." (Joe Biden, Interview With WNEP Scranton, 10/27/08)
· Watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAEE1_IUycs
DEFINITION #4: Today, Contrary To What Barack Obama Is Telling The American People On The Campaign Trail, The Obama-Biden Campaign Said Those Making Between $150,000 And $250,000 Would Not A See A Tax Increase Or Tax Cut
Today, Obama-Biden Campaign Aides Said That Those Making Between $150,000 And $250,000 Will Actually Not See A Tax Increase Or A Tax Cut. "Biden aides say his comments were actually consistent with Obama's tax plan -- people under $150,000 get a cut, and people making up to $250,000 stay the same." (Mark Murray and Mike Memoli, "$150,000 Vs. $250,000," MSNBC's "First Read" Blog, http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com, Posted 10/28/08)

moreResolved Question: How Much Will Obama Cost Us?
How much will Obama's new health plan cost us?
**Mr. Obama's proposed income-based health-insurance subsidies, tax credits for tiny businesses, and expanded Medicaid eligibility would cost another $1.63 trillion, according to the TPC. Thus his tax rebates and health insurance subsidies alone would lift the undisclosed bill to future taxpayers by $2.95 trillion -- roughly $295 billion a year by 2012.
The Wall Street Journal did a great article on how much Obama's plans are going to cost us.
Just wondering if anyone knows how much it truly will cost us all??
How much will his tax plans cost the average American?
**A trillion here, a trillion there, and pretty soon you're talking about real money. Altogether, Mr. Obama is promising at least $4.3 trillion of increased spending and reduced tax revenue from 2009 to 2018 -- roughly an extra $430 billion a year by 2012-2013.
How is he going to pay for it?
Raising the tax rates on the salaries, dividends and capital gains of those making more than $200,000-$250,000, and phasing out their exemptions and deductions, can raise only a small fraction of the amount. Even if we have a strong economy, Mr. Obama's proposed tax hikes on the dwindling ranks of high earners would be unlikely to raise much more than $30 billion-$35 billion a year by 2012.

Excerpt:
Many small-business owners pay taxes on their business income as individuals, and if they are successful and employing people, they will pay higher taxes under Obama. This would be a tax on job creation, at the worst possible time.
Where Obama's 95 percent promise is fundamentally dishonest is in how it discounts the effect of his health-care plan. Obama would require businesses to cover their workers or pay a tax. If the tax is relatively low, employers will choose to dump their employees into Obama's new public program, making a hash of his talking point that no one will lose his current coverage under the plan. If the tax is high, employers will provide coverage themselves, but will inevitably fund it by paying less in wages or hiring less. Obama is proposing a large new tax on employment.
McCain's health plan, in contrast, would amount to a $1.3 trillion tax cut, according to the Tax Policy Center. McCain would tax employer-provided health benefits for the first time, but offset that with a $5,000 tax credit per couple for all health-insurance purchases. Independent analysts say most taxpayers would be better off.

Another:
The Tax Foundation estimates that under the Obama plan 63 million Americans, or 44% of all tax filers, would have no income tax liability and most of those would get a check from the IRS each year. The Heritage Foundation's Center for Data Analysis estimates that by 2011, under the Obama plan, an additional 10 million filers would pay zero taxes while cashing checks from the IRS.
The total annual expenditures on refundable "tax credits" would rise over the next 10 years by $647 billion to $1.054 trillion, according to the Tax Policy Center. This means that the tax-credit welfare state would soon cost four times actual cash welfare. There's another catch: Because Mr. Obama's tax credits are phased out as incomes rise, they impose a huge "marginal" tax rate increase on low-income workers. The marginal tax rate refers to the rate on the next dollar of income earned. As the nearby chart illustrates, the marginal rate for millions of low- and middle-income workers would spike as they earn more income.

The reason I chose this topic, as opposed to another for the candidate, is because it seems to be one of the main reasons people are voting for him.
When you hear his "tax cut" claims, ask yourself one important question..."What does he mean?" And then go find out. You'll be surprised how words can be used to create illusions for people.
It's amazing.
moreResolved Question: I live with my boyfriend of 3+ yrs, I'm expecting, we share everything, but no proposal. What's up?
Okay, so I know this is going to be long, I like give alot of details so its better to see whats up!....here it goes...
I am almost 25 years old, my boyfriend of over 3 years in going on 27. I am now 3 months pregnant. We live together, we rent a nice home together, just bought a new car together, share bills and responsibilities, I am on his insurance plan, etc., etc, it's almost like we are already married, but no 'real' proposal yet.... I wear a small gold heart ring on my ring finger.... with 7 small diamonds he gave me when he asked me to be his girlfriend 3+ years ago
We have talked about marriage before. At first, he saw marriage as a 'trap', an end to having any kind of fun, a ball and chain, like the theme song and eerie images that go with the theme sone on the T.V. show 'Married With Children.' Now, later on in our relationship, He has lightened his view and words, saying he wants to get married, but he wants to work a little more on himself and his job/money first. He says that when marries, the girl he wants would be me, (obviously). He says he is just not ready yet. I asked him, 'What would make you feel ready? What circumstances do you feel need to feel right?' He just said 'Babe, I don't know, just I'll know when I'm ready, and it will be right. You'll be in the kitchen washing dishes or something, and I'll get down on my knee and say 'you better marry me'" Of course, that little answer melted my heart, but I still can't help myself thinking-WHEN WHEN WHEN...WHY WHY WHY.....!!!!! He's mentioned the more I ask, and bug, the more he gets pushed further from it. So, one day I played along & said "you know, I don't want you to think I am in love with the idea of marriage....just the ring, the special day, all that. I am in love with you. And if you're not ready, neither am I. I am ready when you are. Besides, just because we have a kid does'nt mean we HAVE to get married. And, who knows? Maybe we you OR I are not 100 percent sure." YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN HIS FACE! HE LOOKED SCARED & FREAKED! But then quickly said "yeah, ummm...we have to be sure"
I feel like I am a great catch-
I am attractive, fit, I take pride in how I look- hair done, nails done, nice clothes. I am confident, smart, educated. I have my own business- my private massage therapy/Skin Care/Health Education practice. I can take care of myself money-wise. I never ask him for help with money. I keep a sparkling house. I do all the housework-cook, clean, laundry. I even make homemade meals and pack them up for his lunch at work. I help him take care of his skin, and give him massages. I have a huge sex drive, he says more than any girl he's ever known. He laughs when his friends talk about their girls not wanting to give them any!!
now...it seems all peachy, but we have had our bad times, and we have just gotten out of some rotten beef between one another, and he is a recovering alcoholic. We both go to counseling to make sure we are on the right path and doing positive things. I feel like things are great. I have learned to break my old habits-like calling him all the time when he's at work, or out with his friends. getting mad when he wants to go out, etc. I can tell he is happier now then ever, and I am too.
I have been reading this book called "Why Men Marry Bitches" In it it tells you to have a 'hands off approach' by not getting all sprung, being on his nuts calling him, always being available, following like a little lost puppy... making him your life etc. ....Instead, be busy and make HIM want to work in YOUR life! So, I've been following some of this advice and boy does it work! He is showing me 110% more affection...he comes early, HE calls me when he's out, HE makes the plans. HE tells me how he missed me and just wanted to come home....BUT STILL....NO PROPOSAL!!!!!!!
The thing is, and I have told him this...I'm not looking for a ring, a fancy wedding or anything. I actually DON'T want to get married RIGHT NOW. I want to have this baby, move into a bigger home, get things setttled for a few years, and THEN I want to marry. I just want to be engagded. I want to feel that security. I want to know that a day waits for me somewhere down the line. I HATE not knowing WHEN. I want to have a nice, long engadgement. Why does this scare him too? Everything feels like its here. All the pieces to the puzzle.
I am looking for some advice from some guys out there who took a long time to commit. What made you get down on one knee and say the magic words? Am I doing too much for him? Is that making him feel like he 'has me already anyways?...<---is this true? Ohhhh...so many questions!!! HELP!!!

you mean like the tobacco industry, so? whats wrong with that,?
conservatives talk about personal responsibility but that never happens and the taxpayer always foots the bill like smokers and their health problems always clogging up the emergency rooms so the liberal lawyers sue them and the liberal politicians tax them so they have to pay for it and not the taxpayers. sort of like the health care industry making a certain group of high risk clients pay a higher premium.
so that those that try and stay healthy get lower cost insurance.
so that those that smoke pass it on to their customer/client but so what?
as long as they pay for it first and and i can chose between a nonsmoker with lower cost and the high cost smoker.

Hello,
I am researching Obama's healthcare plan (linked below) more closely. And a question came to mind about a point I read.
His program says that he will: establish a new public insurance program available to Americans who neither qualify for Medicaid, SCHIP nor have access to insurance programs through their employers, as well as small businesses that want to offer insurance to their employees.
My question is: What if you have an employer who offers health coverage but the employee has to pay for it either at a group discount, or a full rate?

The number is $200K/year, (250K is for married couples), and I am and I do. If you make much less than that, then how are you going to hire anyone with a $3K tax credit. Some small business owner making $80K is going to hire someone to get a credit? Obama is a joke.

Obamanomics Is a Recipe for Recession
By MICHAEL J. BOSKIN WSJ

What if I told you that a prominent global political figure in recent months has proposed: abrogating key features of his government's contracts with energy companies; unilaterally renegotiating his country's international economic treaties; dramatically raising marginal tax rates on the "rich" to levels not seen in his country in three decades (which would make them among the highest in the world); and changing his country's social insurance system into explicit welfare by severing the link between taxes and benefits?
AP
The first name that came to mind would probably not be Barack Obama, possibly our nation's next president. Yet despite his obvious general intelligence, and uplifting and motivational eloquence, Sen. Obama reveals this startling economic illiteracy in his policy proposals and economic pronouncements. From the property rights and rule of (contract) law foundations of a successful market economy to the specifics of tax, spending, energy, regulatory and trade policy, if the proposals espoused by candidate Obama ever became law, the American economy would suffer a serious setback.
To be sure, Mr. Obama has been clouding these positions as he heads into the general election and, once elected, presidents sometimes see the world differently than when they are running. Some cite Bill Clinton's move to the economic policy center following his Hillary health-care and 1994 Congressional election debacles as a possible Obama model. But candidate Obama starts much further left on spending, taxes, trade and regulation than candidate Clinton. A move as large as Mr. Clinton's toward the center would still leave Mr. Obama on the economic left.
Also, by 1995 the country had a Republican Congress to limit President Clinton's big government agenda, whereas most political pundits predict strengthened Democratic majorities in both Houses in 2009. Because newly elected presidents usually try to implement the policies they campaigned on, Mr. Obama's proposals are worth exploring in some depth. I'll discuss taxes and trade, although the story on his other proposals is similar.
First, taxes. The table nearby demonstrates what could happen to marginal tax rates in an Obama administration. Mr. Obama would raise the top marginal rates on earnings, dividends and capital gains passed in 2001 and 2003, and phase out itemized deductions for high income taxpayers. He would uncap Social Security taxes, which currently are levied on the first $102,000 of earnings. The result is a remarkable reduction in work incentives for our most economically productive citizens.
The top 35% marginal income tax rate rises to 39.6%; adding the state income tax, the Medicare tax, the effect of the deduction phase-out and Mr. Obama's new Social Security tax (of up to 12.4%) increases the total combined marginal tax rate on additional labor earnings (or small business income) from 44.6% to a whopping 62.8%. People respond to what they get to keep after tax, which the Obama plan reduces from 55.4 cents on the dollar to 37.2 cents -- a reduction of one-third in the after-tax wage!
Despite the rhetoric, that's not just on "rich" individuals. It's also on a lot of small businesses and two-earner middle-aged middle-class couples in their peak earnings years in high cost-of-living areas. (His large increase in energy taxes, not documented here, would disproportionately harm low-income Americans. And, while he says he will not raise taxes on the middle class, he'll need many more tax hikes to pay for his big increase in spending.)
On dividends the story is about as bad, with rates rising from 50.4% to 65.6%, and after-tax returns falling over 30%. Even a small response of work and investment to these lower returns means such tax rates, sooner or later, would seriously damage the economy.
On economic policy, the president proposes and Congress disposes, so presidents often wind up getting the favorite policy of powerful senators or congressmen. Thus, while Mr. Obama also proposes an alternative minimum tax (AMT) patch, he could instead wind up with the permanent abolition plan for the AMT proposed by the Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel (D., N.Y.) -- a 4.6% additional hike in the marginal rate with no deductibility of state income taxes. Marginal tax rates would then approach 70%, levels not seen since the 1970s and among the highest in the world. The after-tax return to work -- the take-home wage for more time or effort -- would be cut by more than 40%.
Now trade. In the primaries, Sen. Obama was famously protectionist, claiming he would rip up and renegotiate the North American Free Trade Agreement (Nafta). Since its passage (for which former President Bill Clinton ran a brave anchor leg, given opposition to trade liberalization in his party), Nafta has risen to almost mythological proportions as a metaphor for

Since its passage (for which former President Bill Clinton ran a brave anchor leg, given opposition to trade liberalization in his party), Nafta has risen to almost mythological proportions as a metaphor f
moreResolved Question: SO Joe the plumber doesn't make over 250K ?
Obama and McCain repeatedly invoked Wurzelbacher in their final debate as they sought to appeal to average Americans. McCain, a Republican, said Obama's plan to raise taxes on those making more than $250,000 a year would hurt small-business owners like Wurzelbacher.
Obama, a Democrat, said he would make it easier for Wurzelbacher to provide health insurance for his employees.
Wurzelbacher told ABC he's "not even close" to earning $250,000, but worried that Obama would increase taxes for those making less.

That settles it.....Joe the plumber gets a tax cut under Obama.
moreResolved Question: Why are you voting for Obama?
Why are you who are voting for Obama going to vote for him when he
-is going to increase taxes--- so if a small business pulls in $250,000 a year, they are going to have to pay just under $100k in taxes!???
(from an article on the famous Joe the Plumber)
Obama said that under his proposal taxes on any revenue from $250,000 on down would stay the same, but that amounts above that level would be subject to a 39 percent tax, instead of the current 36 percent rate.
"And the reason why we're doing that is because 95 percent of small businesses make less than 250 (thousand). So what I want to do is give them a tax cut. I want to give all these folks who are bus drivers, teachers, auto workers who make less, I want to give them a tax cut," he said.
Wurzelbacher protested, saying he's been a hardworking plumber for 15 years and why should he be taxed more.
"It's not that I want to punish your success," Obama said. "I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you that they've got a chance at success, too."
PLUS OBAMA:
-doesnt have experience
-talks the talk, but will he walk the walk?
-wants to fine people who can't afford health insurance, but when confronted he didnt want to say how much, then on tonights final debate, he just said "thats not true"-----and that was that.
-he wants to have early childhood education which means YOU will be paying for it---- and yet the parents cant choose the school so if you live in a bad area your kid will go to a bad school
-he believes that throwing money around when we're in such a mess will help
thanks in advance!
Because Adam, I am curious to see why YOU would vote for him. Thats what yahoo answers is for and hey, YOU paid attention to my question, lol. Thanks for the answer though!
LOL its just a question people, chill the **** out!
moreResolved Question: Question about government insurance?
I recently became an independent contractor (self-employed small business)
and am building a client base which takes time & I no longer have health insurance for my daughter or myself since I am no longer employed by another company. Because my business is so new, I do not yet have the funds to purchase private insurance & there is no other option even for my daughter because her dad died in an accident in '99. So my question is: if I apply for state insurance but have it ONLY for emergencies (I'll continue to pay out of pocket for our dental/doctor visits) does it still cost the government money just to
