Israeli startup turns Asia's three-wheelers green
"Our R&D division (Angstore) spent more than six years on research and development," says Zaidenberg, a maverick entrepreneur who also founded Mutek, as well as Angstore, and has received awards for his inventive contributions to the Israel Air Force and the Israel Computer Society.
He's not the only well known name at the company. Prof. Yuri Ginzburg, the company's CTO, is a world expert in the automotive industry, and a specialist in alternative fuel systems. Eliezer Sandberg, chairman of the board, is a former Israel Minister of National Infrastructure.
Investors in the company include a major Swiss bank, a UK Fund, and an Austrian investment company that specializes in the energy field.
Energtek is the first company to produce a cost-effective Adsorbed Natural Gas (ANG) system. more
Essential New Chemical Industry Market Report for 2008
The UK chemical market is one of the country's largest manufacturing sectors (accounting for around 14% of the UK's manufacturing industry as a whole), and is also one of the largest sources of exports in the manufacturing industry. The UK remains one of the top ten chemical producers in the world. International chemical companies dominate the industry in the UK, with many famous UK names falling prey to foreign competitors.
Momentously for the industry and the UK's economy, Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) was acquired by Akzo Nobel of the Netherlands in January 2008 for $17.5bn. ICI was once regarded as the bellwether company, occupying a huge position in the financial markets and in the economy as a whole. However, the UK remains home to two of the world's most important pharmaceutical firms — AstraZeneca and GlaxoSmithKline — as well as numerous small and dynamic pharmaceutical firms. more
Bentley seeks PLUS prize
Veteran financier and entrepreneur John Bentley plans to bring video games technology innovator Prize Mobile to PLUS.
At 68, Bentley, who rose to prominence as an asset stripper and socialite in the 1970s and later started the UK’s first quoted video rental company, is managing director of Prize Mobile. The company boasts technology allowing mobile video games to build in a points system to reward game players with prizes on a secure basis and to collect and manage consumer data valuable to advertisers.
Prize Mobile says its technology was originally developed for online gambling and achieved a Class 4 online casino licence in Malta. However, the company says it is now firmly focused on amusement games and has no intention to become engaged in casino or gambling games involving wagers. more
It's time to set aside prudish sensibilities
Not the hyper-sexualized breasts that we see in advertisements, magazines, movies, billboards, and even frequently see on young preteens who wander around local malls.
I'm willing to bet that the breastfeeding mom had less visible flesh than many of the bikini-clad pool-goers. And yet she was the one who was targeted.
I disagree strongly with Martin's suggestion that we drop the issue. Publicity of issues like this is what raises public awareness. Just as all other civil rights violations are debated, hashed out and beaten like a dead horse, this one should have as much media time.
This one should raise as much rage and ire.
It is time that we, as a society, stop placing our own prudish sensibilities ahead of the needs of a young infant or child. more

Open Question: Do I have a chance to have an internship in a big accounting firm?
I am an international student from top-tier public university in US, and I don't have any decent work experience except two years of compulsory military service and one year of office work at the school library. I major in economics, and also I have a certificate of both business and east asian studies. so, i have taken most of core business courses. I am considering switching my career path to accounting field and having a master degree in accounting. I have one more semester left before I graduate. Hopefully, I can have an internship experience in a big accounting firm before starting my master's degree. Do you think that I have a shot for an internship in a big accounting? For more information, i have limited accounting background; I took only 15 credits of accounting courses including the following courses: introduction of both financial and managerial accounting (each 1 semester) / intermediate financial accounting I+II (one year) / Taxation (1 semester) And, I will complete two more accounting courses including Cost Accounting(1 semester) and Auditing/Assurance(semester) during my final semester suppossedly before I start internship. Thank you, moreOpen Question: Any ideas what kind of job should I apply for?
I'm in my final year of my study in Bachelor of Communication. My current program is Performing Arts Communication, which basically comprises of 80% business communication management, and 20% stagework (creative writing, voice performance, dramatology, directing, stage & costume design and production management for musical theatre). After being acquainted with the industry though, I'll most likely be working in my 80% rather instead of on stage. If my bachelor's is all I'll ever have, I'd go for journalism or advertising. However, next year I'll be going to Canada for postgraduate studies in International Development; a course in world cultures of developing countries, humanitarian aid and the issues around it, international relations between the developed and developing world, and community development project management. Why international development? Because my goal is to reform grassroots education in my country. I live in a developing country where the public education system is primitive, and real education becomes a luxury (often in English and not understood by the majority). I want to build schools and introduce an education philosophy that effectively connects the intellectual realm and the real world, creating a generation that is well aware of their history and culture but able to envision a positive direction for their country to grow towards and ready to work with what they have and make it unique & excellent. The reason why I didn't go to teachers' college is because teachers here don't have much power to fight the bureaucracy. They're forced to succumb to the system, work long hours, and are poorly paid; so it would be hard to develop myself--let alone others--because I'd neither have the time, the money, nor the power to learn about my country's strong points and what developed countries do with theirs. My real passion is not the teaching itself, but developing community and making a difference. That's why I decided to study business and communication instead. In my country, successful businesses have the power to do anything they want, including community development programs that are better than the government's. I figured that both successful businesses and sustainable development programs thrive because of communication. If I lead a big business, I will be training and mentoring people anyway, and with some tweaks here and there, there's always be a classroom for me (including ones that don't have four walls). But if I become a teacher, most likely I'll just be working for a school all my life; and since the schools attended by grassroots community pay next to nothing, I'd work for the schools where the rich kids attend and miss my point altogether. Over the next 2 semesters, I'll be able to work full time because my bachelor program will only have evening classes twice a week. I want to do something that utilizes the skills I learnt from Performing Arts Communication, but also something that will prepare me for International Development. I also need to save money for my move to Canada next year, so of course well paying jobs would be preferred. Any job ideas? moreOpen Question: Can an international student register a business in australia?

I am too confused to decide what is right for me... at this juncture in life.. Made many study options and then quit them .. and a few on the verge of.. I am a BBA student which is too general which I have realised lately and am in search of something specific. The prime question is what to do after it.. In India these MBA colleges prefer students who receive good percentiles in their CAT, XAT, MAT, etc. And my parents are not ready to send me abroad for my studies. Well I am even further confused on whether pursuing a PG upright or after 2 years of work experience. Another dilema is the field of focus. i.e. Finance, HR, International Business, etc. etc. etc. There are so many options in life that make one so confused. I feel stressed out most of the time coz i'm a person who cannot stick to 24/7 books. Though I've tried to do it, sometimes I can but other times I burst out... I don't find any avenue to went out my energies.... I wanna get into doing something creative, but that again is a no from my parents side, coz d field is wavery. I sketch (Which I discovered a few months back).. Most importantly I stay away from corruption, which again confuses me in the scrutiny of options. At some point of time I also wanted to write the civil services exam to become an Indian Foreign Services officer. I like travelling (long distances) the medium being decent. I am responsible and that makes me a deep thinker. And because of all these traits I end up getting even more confused ... Phew... this is a serious query coz m in d third year and I need to decide now or it may b too late.. Please help me someone!!!! moreOpen Question: Which Master? Int.Bus.Management vs Specific (e.g. China) & at which Uni? (US/UK)?
Hi there, I want to work in an international environment, I have thought about living and working for some years in North America, Asia or maybe also in the Emirates. I have also thought about working in consulting first for a few years, before going into a "regular" job. I will get a BA in Business and Management from Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom summer 2011. I'm not achieving the best grades all the time, but I consider myself to be a (very?!) good student. Average grade UK system 2:1 approx. and US-system approx. GPA 3. With this background info, I have two questions for you all: Should I pursue a general or a specific master degree? E.g.: - Msc/MA International Business (and) Management or - Msc Chinese Business (and) Management (these two are example courses from Manchester Business School, UK, which interested me so far). Which Uni has a good reputation? More important than reputation is to me though, that the faculty staff is qualified and motivating/interesting/innovative. Don't need prof's that teach from 20-year old schoolbooks. (think you get my point, staff should inspire and support new ideas and thoughts, ambiguity in general). I was looking at UK uni's so far since it's closer to me (I'm German), but I'd prefer to study in the US. Any recommendations for the above mentioned courses are appreciated, but with the restriction of tuition fees no higher than 40,000 USD in total (for the whole program). Feel free to suggest Uni's of any country :) Hope some people here have some good advice for me! Would be highly appreciated :) moreOpen Question: What major I should study?

Hello. I just got my MBA from harvard business school, got my undergrad from Cornell, and have taken many business management courses. I currently have job offer at Boston Consulting Group as a consultant. I will be working in NYC, and I get to travel every week (I love business travel.). I would love to retire young and very rich. I would like to have my own family, a mansion, and a luxury apartment in NYC. So far, i would like my career to be as follows. 1. I would work as a consultant at BCG for 10 years. Each year, I would be making a six figure salary. 2. After ten years, I would still be with the company and hopefully be promoted to partner ( this company has great job growth rate). 3. I would stay and be partner for 5 years making 1 plus million dollars a year. 4. After five years as partner, I would take my skills I learned from BCG (management consulting, business management), and apply for a senior management position at a fortune 500 company specializing in media such as viacom international (MTV, vh1 , paramount pictures, etc.). After some time at the company, I would hopefully be promoted to an executive level and hopefully make multi millions a year, until I retire at around age 55. I know these are big goals, but they are my goals. Now for the question..... I also have an entrepreneur spirit. I would like to start an online company. The company would be a consulting firm that consults clients regarding their websites, web companies, etc. I am great at determining what a website needs to do in order go achieve certain goals ( revenue growth, target market, marketing, turn over rates). Currently, not to many companies do this, and I would like to fill the gap. Or at least, I would like to create a site where users could post a snapshot of their website and post info on what they want to achieved from there sites. Then other users could review there sites, and give the user some tips. The user who gave the other user tips would receive points which could be redeemed for cash. However, I would make money by selling points to users to post there website on our site. If no one posted on someones site within a month, the user could get refunded or keep the points for later use. Many people tell me that in order to get rich, you need to study hard, get good grades, go to a good college, get a good job, and make your way up the corporate ladder. That is one of my options. And it is a proven way to become very rich. I have the grades, I have the great colleges on my resume, I have a six figure starting job already being offered to me, and I plan on climbing the corporate ladder and achieve wealth and knowledge a long the way. Other people say you should quit your job, start a company, work your own hours, and make as much money as you want. However, starting your own business has huge risk, huge potential loss, and has huge start up costs. However if you do it correctly, you could make many millions. What are your suggestions? Should I go for my career path as planned and climb the corporate ladder to riches, or should I start my own company with risk and hopefully get rich? Some of you might suggest to do the company on the side, however I don't have time due to the many hours of working at an consulting firm. For some people who are making low income at their jobs, I can see and agree that they should quit and start their own business. But with me, with potential career posit s that could make me millions, I am not sure if I should stick with a job, or venture off into my own company? moreResolved Question: how to get scholarships in Norway for international students ?

I have been thinking about going to the Shanghai International Studies University because In the future I plan to do alot of business with Chinese business's so I thought going to SISU would help me. And I plan on going there after I graduate High School as a senior (currently a Junior now). Although I have not been able to pull up real research on this University, so I am asking if it is a good school and how would it be for an American foreigner. Also what would your GPA and SAT scores have to be to go there. If you have any other comments feel free to say, anything helps =) Also, I am not 100% on what the courses are available for foreigners, but I am looking to take a course to learn Chinese and Chinese business. Or something along the lines of that. If you know any information on this, that would greatly help too. ThanksAlso, Like how is the "atmosphere" as an American foreigner attending this university? Like does it feel awkward and uncomfortable, or is it pretty cool and easily adjustable? Or something along those lines, you get my drift lol. Also, If anyone is currently attending or has attended this University that is American and doesn't mind talking to me about it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks =)Also, Would it be better to go to the Beijing International Studies University or any other International University to learn? moreResolved Question: Considering a co-op postgraduate program in Canada. How should I prepare?
I will be graduating with a bachelor's degree in Communication from Indonesia in mid 2011, and I have a pending permanent residency for Canada which I must activate by 2012. My city of preference would be Vancouver, but I really am willing to consider anywhere in Canada. My current GPA is 3.61, and I'm planning to get a scholarship, or at least financial assistance which I can supplement by working in Canada. I am looking for information on a postgraduate program about community development in developing countries; how geography, the sociopoliticocultural climate, and the education of those countries impact the advancement of those nations; and how international organizations and foreign relations with developed countries can help the advancement of those developing countries. In terms of prerequisite, I'd imagine that communication will be a widely used discipline in this kind of studies; plus in my current bachelor's program I have studied subjects like anthropology, sociology, intercultural communication, psychology, Napoleonic law, and politics. I'd eventually want to split my residence between Indonesia and Canada, conducting community development projects in Indonesia by means of education, vocational equipment of young people, and small business development among competent adults. If possible, I'd prefer to not have to ask my parents to pay for anything; which means that I will need to work when I come to Canada. I've been informed of "co-op" programs where international students can come to study postgrad at a Canadian college while working on an internship program and getting paid for it; and if I need more money still, I can apply for additional work on campus or find a scholarship. I'm setting a goal to come to Canada by September 2011. The Canadian Education Services International in Jakarta has told me to prepare mainly a TOEFL or IELTS test, my latest transcript from my current bachelor program, and a college and program in mind; which I will undoubtedly prepare ASAP. In terms of finance, how should I prepare? I've been told that an international student in Canada should expect to spend about CA$800-CA$1000 per month, including room and board, transportation, books, health insurance etc. So I'm assuming that from here at least I should prepare airline tickets, the first installment of tuition fees, living funds for the first month or two and settle with the co-op program to make sure that I have a job as soon as I arrive there? How does this work out? How much could I make on co-op, and what kind of work would it be? How much could I make on campus work, say assisting professors in classes or research? If my program is only about a year, what can I do to get a good scholarship or financial assistance, say within the first three months I arrive in Canada? Any ideas how I can plan a well thought out financial strategy between now and February 2011?Thanks Lisa. I've been told that $CA800-1000 is about an all-in budget for a student living on campus in the dorm, but I wouldn't know. What do you say is a reasonable student budget for Vancouver, and would co-op and/or on-campus work assistance cover that? What are some other things that I will have to take into account in planning my finances to go study in Canada by next year? moreVoting Question: What careers can I have if I major in Japanese and International Studies?

1. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) performed a study that compared the carbohydrate content (as a percentage of weight) of several major brands of corn and potato chips. Fourteen brands of corn chips were sampled and 14 brands of potato chips were sampled. Data was collected and the following 95% confidence interval was computed for the difference in means. Interpret the 95% confidence interval for the difference in the mean carbohydrate content between the Corn Chip and Potato Chip groups. The C.I. is: (27.292,39.836) where m1= the average carbohydrate content as a percentage of weight in corn chips. and m2= the average carbohydrate content as a percentage of weight in potato chips. --If all numbers in the interval are positive then m1>m2 meaning We are 95% confident that the average carbohydrate content as a percentage of weight in corn chips is higher than the average carbohydrate content as a percentage of weight in potato chips. Correct? 2. Questions on a statistics exam are considered good questions provided the questions discriminate between students who have studied for the exam and those who have not studied. Suppose that on a particular statistics exam the students were separated into two groups, the group that studied and the other group that had not studied. Data was collected and a 95% confidence interval for the difference in the proportion of those passing the exam from the group that studied and the proportion of those passing the exam from the group that had not studied. The confidence interval turned out to be (0.005, 0.125). Note that sample 1 is from the group that studied and sample 2 is from the group that did not study. --Following the same rule as above, If all numbers in the interval are positive then m1>m2 meaning We are 95% confident that those who studied had a higher passing rate than those who did not study. Idk if this is right...Theres also the options of: A. The data fails to show with 95% confidence that these questions discriminated between those who studied and those who did not study. B. We are 95% confident that those who studied had a lower passing rate than those who did not study. 3. Hi there, I will probably finish my Bachelor in Business & Management in June 2011 and I would like to study further. Since I love to travel and experience new people, places and so on, I thought it'd be a good idea to go for a (post)graduate degree in the field of international business. However there are, if I'm not mistaken, two possibilities now: 1) Continue studying directly, making a Master's degree instead of a MBA 2) Get work and collect work experience for 2-4 years and then opt-in for a MBA/IMBA As far as I evaluate it, a combination makes little sense, especially from a financial pov. I would very much appreciate any thoughts on how to decide, as I'm torn between those two options. I'm for example lead to believe that it'll be harder to study after some years of break/work, but then on the other hand, in a MBA course the work experience from me and fellow classmates would add much more practicality and applicability. On a sidenote, I'm an average student that is highly motivated, but simply from a financial point and also being realistic, the top-elite programs are probably not really appropriate for me. Bonusquestions: 1) Do internships qualify for MBA's as well as work experience? Or is the lack of responsibility grave? 2) Any thoughts on Hawai'i Pacific University? I met them at a fair and was fairly excited, their costs are also quite okay. I heard both positive and negative things though about especially the faculty body, most specifically some staff teaching in internation business. Thanks for any answer already in advance! :) moreResolved Question: what SATs do i have to take if i want to apply for the following courses.....?

I have been in numerous clubs, including: Spanish Club, International Club, Ski Club, FBLA, NHS and Class Council. I attended a state competition for FBLA for Business Presentation, and placed 8th. I also organized a Key Club (an internationall recognized club like NHS). Next year, I will be an officer for the following clubs: Key Club, and FBLA. I also plan on doing the following clubs next year: FBLA (officer position), Key Club (president), NHS (running for an officer position), Spanish Club (running for an officer position), International Club (running for an officer position), and Class Council. I may also try out for the Academic Team. This summer, I will be going to a business camp (PFEW), to further explore my interest in Business. I will also be checking out College campus'. I'm sure I will do just fine on the SAT's, for I am very good at taking tests, and fairly smart. My teachers will all write excellent recommendations for me, as I know that is one thing colleges look at. Howdy, well im going into six form next year and ultimately I would like to do an international business/Chinese degree (Chinese and or German im not sure which yet) Im expecting mostly B's and one or two A's at GCSE and I REALLY don't want to take math at A level, I can do mental arithmetic easily its just really a struggle for me with volumes and such and I don't think I could keep up at A level. Originally I was going to take Business, English Language, History, German. But... There are 4 option boxes and I can take Business or English language and take either English lit, Math or Economics. The problem with Economics is my six form tutor told me that traditional university's like to see core subjects such as history, German and English language and they expect a minimum of two 'traditional' a levels, but if I take Business, Economics, History, German will that effect me getting into University ? Also, can I take business at university without taking maths? I thought that Business studies at A level would be a ticket into taking it at University without having a Math A level, am I wrong ? Also is it perfectly possible for me who is expected mostly B's one or two A's and C's to get an ABB at A level if I put enough effort in ? Thanks for your time folks. moreResolved Question: What foreign languages would be considered most useful in architecture?
I am a soon-to-be high school senior and I would like to know, what language(s) would be considered most useful in architecture and it's associated fields? Associated fields include Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, etc,. I know that the importance of a foreign language depends on the firm, where it is located, and whether it even does international business. If it's of any importance, I live in the Midwest, plan to attend college in the midwest USA, plan to work in the midwest with subdued, albeit intense *desire* to work elsewhere in the country or abroad. I'm currently studying German and have considerable (though not complete) proficiency in the language, and would like to study others. moreResolved Question: Do you think the US govt. should implement a program to stop pregnant women from entering the country?
US Birth Tourism becoming flourishing business By DEVIN DWYER | Apr 14, 2010 Millions of foreign tourists visit the United States every year, and a growing number return home with a brand new U.S. citizen in tow. Thousands of legal immigrants, who do not permanently reside in the United States but give birth here, have given their children the gift of citizenship, which the U.S. grants to anyone born on its soil. The number of U.S. births to non-resident mothers rose 53 percent between 2000 and 2006, according to the most recent data from the National Center for Health Statistics. Total births rose 5 percent in the same period. Among the foreigners who have given birth here, including international travelers passing through and foreign students studying at U.S. universities, are "birth tourists," women who travel to the United States with the explicit purpose of obtaining citizenship for their child. Catering to the women is a nascent industry of travel agencies and hotel chains seeking to profit from the business. The Marmara Manhattan, a Turkish-owned luxury hotel on New York's City Upper East Side, markets birth tourism packages to expectant mothers abroad, luring more than a dozen pregnant guests and their families to the United States to give birth last year alone. "What we offer is simply a one-bedroom suite accommodation for $7,750, plus taxes, for a month, with airport transfer, baby cradle and a gift set for the mother," Marmara Hotel spokeswoman Alexandra Ballantine said. The hotel estimates the total cost of the package at $45,000. Most women stay for two months, Ballantine said, and they make medical arrangements on their own. "Guests arrange and pay for these by themselves," she said of hospital costs that can approach $30,000. For those with the means to pay, it's a small price to give a child the full benefits of U.S. citizenship, including the ability to travel freely to and from the United States, easy access to a U.S. education and a chance to start a life here. "We found a company on the Internet and decided to go to Austin [Texas] for our child's birth," Turkish mother Selin Burcuoglu told Istanbul's Hurriyet Daily News. "I don't want [my daughter] to deal with visa issues. American citizenship has so many advantages." The greatest of those advantages may be the ability of the citizen child to later sponsor the legal immigration of his or her entire family permanently to this country, experts say. http://www.eturbonews.com/15529/us-birth-tourism-becoming-flourishing-business moreResolved Question: How do immigrants move to and succeed in countries with an uncommon international language?
For example, I heard there are many Pakistani immigrants in Norway. How many know the Norweigen language before ever arriving? Are they granted visas there if there knowledge is little? How do they succeed in business, health and education fields where that is clearly the language being used? Or do they adapt quick because they are used to studying many languages? English, French, Portuguese, even German and Spanish, I can understand. But Danish? Norweigen? Dutch? These languages aren't that spoken internationally, yet they have a big diversity of immigrants in their cities.I highly doubt in Thailand or in other countries, they'll speak to foreigners in English or another language in the actual work force. Only travelers. Plus, I'm sick and tired of hearing the quote ''Everyone speaks English.'' Climate and energy bills involving carbon cap and trade systems have been proposed by the US House (Waxman-Markey [WM]) and Senate (Kerry-Lieberman [KM]). Numerous economic analyses of these bills have been performed, as summarized below. Congressional Budget Office (CBO): WM will cost about $175 per household in 2020, and those “in the lowest income quintile would see an average net benefit of about $40 in 2020. The estimate “does not include the economic benefits and other benefits of the reduction in GHG emissions and the associated slowing of climate change." CBO’s estimate also does not include the economic benefits of other provisions in WM. http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/103xx/doc10327/06-19-CapAndTradeCosts.pdf American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (ACEEE): estimates that the WM efficiency provisions alone could save businesses and consumers $22 billion ($170 per household) annually by 2020, and that the net savings of the bill's provisions not included in the CBO estimate would more than make up for the estimated cost. http://www.aceee.org/energy/national/National_Summary_ACES.pdf Energy Information Administration (EIA) on WM: the average cost to households from 2012 to 2030 (discounted) is $83. http://www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/servicerpt/hr2454/pdf/sroiaf%282009%2905.pdf EPA on WM: $80-111 per year per average family. http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/economics/pdfs/HR2454_Analysis.pdf EPA on KL: $79-146 per year per average family. http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/economics/pdfs/EPA_APA_Analysis_6-14-10.pdf Peterson Institute on KL: "In our analysis, households see somewhere between a $136 increase and a $35 dollar decrease in annual energy expenditures, depending on future improvements in vehicle efficiency" http://www.piie.com/publications/pb/pb10-12.pdf Heritage Foundation: WM "Will Cost American Families Over $3,000 a Year" (per family of 4) http://www.heritage.org/Research/Factsheets/Waxman-Markey-Global-Warming-Tax-Kills-More-Jobs-and-Kills-the-Economy Institute for Energy Research on KL: "Households would face a gross annual burden of $125.9 billion per year or $1,042 per household," http://www.instituteforenergyresearch.org/2010/06/30/new-study-kerry-lieberman-to-destroy-up-to-5-1-million-jobs-cost-families-1042-per-year-wealthiest-americans-to-benefit/ So basically 3 government analyses put the cost at somewhere between a modest net gain for consumers, and a $175 per family (about $60 per person) per year net cost. You also have 2 oil-industry-funded organizations (Heritage Foundation has received over $630,000 and Institute for Energy Research has received $307,000 from ExxonMobil since 1998), which put the net cost at $1000-3000 per family. If you don't trust government or oil-funded analyses, the only alternative I found was the Peterson Institute for International Economics which "is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan research institution devoted to the study of international economic policy." If you look at their climate change page, they don't seem to have any particular dog in this race. http://www.iie.com/research/topics/hottopic.cfm?HotTopicID=16 Their analysis is consistent with the CBO, EIA, and EPA at between a modest net gain for households ($35 per year) and a net cost of $136 per year. Which economic analysis of the proposed carbon cap and trade bills do you find most plausible?Deniers, I ask that you either answer the question or don't bother 'answering' at all. Here is a sample of a Spoof on the past and latest. The WTF or World Task Force has released a new comprehensive study into all possible solutions to areas stricken with Over crowed schools, huge economic downturns and the increase in School and Business closures across America and globally. After many years of tax dollars and revenues from various state lottery dollars and taxes on revenues from Casinos the WTF published in the WTF Journal on 7/09/2010 a comprehensive solution to the crisis. According to the report from spokes person and client of WTF Mr. Bullshivik the solution is for children to simply "Not Go." According to the findings this will result in the overall reduction of students so teachers can focus on actually intelligent children who will benefit from a more direct eduction, and though as a by product this will mean more hooligans in the streets joining gangs and becoming likely to increase in involvement with illegal conduct such as drugs a d prostitution, the benefits will far outweigh the crisis as providing more intelligent specialized children, increase in robotic technologies to supplant a dwindling work force, a resulting drop in excessive population issues allowing gang violence to increase and life threatening diseases to take out the extra baggage and justify the discontinuation of public assistance networks and services that are bankrupting the economy. In addition there will be better jobs available for those who abandon these regions who have received the education and such as health-care and related public services can be geared more towards the better social stock of the civilization and in the resulting slums allow nature to take its course. These regions can than be isolated and walled up and allowed to crumble and will be policed by armed soldiers and regional marshals to prevent the isolated regions that will be called WCS or World Controlled Sectors or CICs which are Civil Isolation Centers, to keep UIs or Undesirable Influences from Civil City Regions, or CCRs. Those that would otherwise continue to be a strain on the legal system including inmates from various prisons will also be reassigned to a CIC (pronounced Sick in English) which will further reduce the excessive expenses of having to build larger prison systems on valuable lands and potential centers of much needed resources and can be applied Internationally in order to preserve a Democratic Culture and Civil Society. Political Adviser, Harry Dickers agreed and expect the predominant targeted UIs to be the largest resistance in the New World Restoration Effort of House Bill NWRE 187 which also gives clear and decisive power of private vote to the new and intended UPELG-GA or Unified Political, Executive and Legislative Governance of Global Allience once such a program is initiated and will after a swift Military effort be more than sufficient in initiating the round up program called Operation Ditch the Dirt or ODTD and those who have been causing a financial burden not just in the US but in the World economy. This will include the Homeless, and those who are considered terminally ill, disabled, Mentally deficient or challenged, or don't speak the language, as well as addicts to illegal and prescription drugs, as anyone with any observable and irrevocable debts. The WTF and intended UPELG-GA plan on presenting this to countries with all the research and evidence under a secret UN meeting with nations most likely to support the efforts and the program models in exchange to private resources and shared economic benefits to the officials and their families as a UN bill called WDR or World Divine Retribution and believed it will pass with a 9 out of 10 percentile with the elimination of so called outmoded International laws. In addition the policy will allow for the discontinuation of trades with all other countries whose conditions and technological underdevelopment have only further served to stress global economic infrastructures and will be effectively cut off and allowed to perish at their own hands, and any of those intending to try and invade or sneak into "restricted countries" will be executed as threats to the Global and International security of the intended UPELG-GA. This report by the WTF has been applauded as an intelligent and un-bias approach to solving the present over all crisis the World is enduring and a Tribunal of members of the UPELG-GA will be considered as privately elected International Presidential Members. In addition Science and Technology will be the only accepted social truth in the new GA for short of the UPELG-GA and any and all religions, religious institutions and so forth will be effectively banned as psychologically detrimental to the over all progress of the New World Agenda. After the successful completion of the Agenda the Aliens will be more open to land and once more interact with the Superior global soc moreResolved Question: What kind of job can i get if i do these courses and degree? My sister is 17 and will be graduating from high school next year (2011). Ultimately she wants to go to Norway to study at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB) in an English language bachelor program called "International Environment and Development Studies", but only after taking off a year or two for a working holiday overseas, preferrably somewhere in continental Europe. When I studied abroad, I used to meet European "gap students"aged 18-19, so I figured that my sister is up for a "gappy" program. But we really don't have much information on what that is, because it's not a very common thing to do in our country. My sister's study will mainly be about understanding how the environment, culture, trade and politics influence development; and learning how to find local and global solutions to injustice and poverty. She has big dreams of making good things happen in our country through human development, education, and business. Apart from that, she is also a performing arts enthusiast who plays great music and acts in amateur theatre productions on and off. She loves volunteering for community development projects in our country like teaching less fortunate kids, reforestation, integrated agroforestry, and mobile health services (where a crew of health professionals and volunteers drive a van of medical facilities to provide free health check ups and basic medicine to poor people in different areas of the province. The reason why she wants to take time off before university is because she is well aware that the education in our country is mostly just a bunch of formality, a checklist to tick off with no real encouragement to pursue the love of learning and fulfill potential in order to make our country a better place. Really good education is a luxury few have access to, and those who can afford it normally come from very rich families with extravagantly self-indulgent lifestyles, who shower their kids with branded items and discourage their kids from working. As a result, many high school graduates who were "well educated" become very self centered consumerists who know very little about the real world, lacking the discipline and maturity to cast a worthy vision and follow it through. My sister is determined that she will not become just another statistic, but that is very hard to break out of if that's all you've known all your life. And so she decides to break the cycle by traveling abroad at a young age to get a job, support herself, gain basic life skills and develop the discipline to do it consistently, and just understand life a little bit better by experiencing how others in different parts of the world live theirs. She believes that a year off or two to pursue these goals will help her know herself better, appreciate her dreams and future studies, and develop the necessary disciplines to sustain her future pursuits that she otherwise would have never learnt in school, and especially not in our country. So, after all is said and done, we'd be grateful for the following information: What can my sister do for gap year, from which she can learn a lot to prepare her for her future studies? Are there any organizations which organize such programs? Would it consist of a long internship with cash allowance, or working odd jobs while volunteering for a development project, involve the management of some kind of entrepreneurship / fund raising, or is it something else? What are some ways that European students spend gap year while traveling to foreign countries outside Europe, and what are some ways that Asian students spend gap year while traveling to Europe? How about visas and work permits for Norway and/or other European countries? What can our family (and ultimately my sister herself) do throughout the following year to plan this carefully and make sure that it follows through? My sister and I are citizens of Indonesia (Southeast Asia). She speaks fluent English and is a fast learner of other languages too. Spent some of her childhood in the States, Australia, and The Netherlands; but will be graduating from an international curriculum secondary school in Jakarta. Thank you! moreResolved Question: Which of these minors would be best for me?

I want to apply for an International Business Studies and Japanese course in University. Having only one year left of 6th Form at school, and no time to study the basics of the language itself, would I be able to apply straight away? Or will they teach the language from scratch, or would they expect me to know the basics already? moreResolved Question: What jobs can I get if I have an MBA with a track in International Business?
I'm finishing out my bachelors degree in Paralegal Studies and it has seriously opened my eyes to the world of business. Not to mention, I'd love to have the opportunity to travel to Europe and possibly even relocate there in the future to start a new life. My grad school of choice offers a Master of Business Administration with a track in International Business. I'd also have the option to study abroad in Rome, Italy for a summer semester. Would having a degree in International Business allow myself the opportunities to travel and work overseas? What kind of jobs could I get here in America? If language is an issue, I've been studying to become fluent in Spanish for a while now and once I finish I plan to study Italian. I've been told the transition between the two languages is much easier than English to Spanish. moreResolved Question: I live in California but would like to study in Barcelona . I live in California and would like to study at a private business school in Barcelona, Spain. My parents refuse to cosign on any loan that makes me able to study in Spain due to their constant struggle to be close to me . I love them to death and its going to be hard for me to leave them too but I think it’s time they let me go (20 years of age). I had three questions. 1) Can I get an international student loan for a private school? 2) Can I get a loan without a cosigner? 3) What type of loan would I need to get for a school that’s not in the country I am a citizen of? Actually i m planning to get my further studies through distance learning from BIU I have come to know about by GOOGLE and its offering many online courses that i was looking for since long time.. But As per encyclopaedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bircham_International_University CRITICISM & CONTROVERSY Bircham is listed as a questionable non-accredited school by Quack watch.[24] A 2003 article in South Florida's CityLink magazine reported that Oregon education officials had said that Bircham was "totally bogus" and quoted former FBI agent Allen Ezell, who investigated diploma mills as part of the agency's Operation Dipscam, as describing some of Bircham's promotional claims as "pure hokum".[25] The Oregon Office of Degree Authorization alerts the public that Oxford International University has "no connection to legitimate Oxford University in Great Britain".[26] In July 2007 a Mexican newspaper reported that the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) of Mexico had issued a warning against Bircham International and ten other foreign institutions identified as having committed academic fraud.[27] In April 2008 the Nairobi Business Daily reported that Bircham International University was operating in Kenya without authorization, "wooing unsuspecting students to its distance learning classes". An official of Kenya's Commission for Higher Education was quoted as warning that BIU degree certificates would not be recognised.[7] In March 2010 the same newspaper published a correction, stating that the April 2008 story had been provided by a person "who at the time of publication had a partnership dispute with Bircham over rights to represent the university in Kenya". The correction stated that BIU "is a Spanish institution of distance learning and is in good standing with Spanish authorities that offers alternatives to formal adult higher education specifically aimed at adult working professionals" and that its programmes "can be legalized and validated by the Embassy of Kenya in the USA or Spain despite the institution not being registered by the Commission for Higher Education in Kenya".[7] So anyone knows plz help me on the same. or let me know online universties offering courses in IT enginnering. I am residing in QATAR. Thanks moreVoting Question: How to manage time as a first semester college freshman? Please help!?

Grammar, punctuation, spelling and is my MLA format correct THANK YOU This essay will prove that graduating students in Ontario should only study Canadian literature in a Grade 12 English course. While good writers exist in all cultures, Ontario students should only study Canadian writers. Because we need to become more familiar with our literature. Three reasons for this are; the need to focus on our own Canadian culture despite being surrounded by other cultures, the need to promote and establish our own writers, and the need to encourage younger Canadian authors. Students in Ontario taking English should only study Canadian literature because we are completely swamped by the American culture around us. This is a Canadian tradition because we have always been a “branch plant” of another country starting with England and France meaning that our own culture has never had the chance to develop since we have always been under the thumb of a more powerful foreign culture. So, for years, a student in Ontario would study Shakespeare and other British writers: today they may also study American authors such as Fitzgerald. But many schools limit a students exposure to the Canadian novel to ISP reading lists. In this sense, Canada is an attic in which we have stored American and British literature without considering our own. 1 No wonder a Canadian student has problems appreciating there culture. Often what Canadian literature is studied is very old. This includes works such as Mordecai’s Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz or Lawrences Stone Angel. Fifth Business, which was published in 1970 – over 35 years ago – is still on many courses of study in Gr. 12 classrooms. Atwood’s Handmade’s Tale the most recent of these books was published in 1985; over ten years ago. Again while most teachers allow and may even encourage a student to focus on more modern Canadian books for their ISP, his classroom experience is usually limited to studying these golden oldies. Then there is the issue of these authors being primarily white, English Canadian and not reflective of our modern multicultural society. As Robertson Davies stated, “ Canada is not going to have a national literature in the mode of those European lands where a long history has bound the people together, and where a homogeneous racial inheritance has given them a language, customs, and even a national dress of their own.” 2 We need to look at the work of Canadian authors who have come here from different backgrounds. Connecting with our multicultural student body is really important! As Canadians, we are lost in a sea of international influences – we hardly know who we are. And we do this without realizing it. ‘What is a Canadian? A Canadian is a fellow wearing English tweeds, a Hong Kong shirt and Spanish shoes, who sips Brazilian coffee sweetened with Philippine sugar from a Bavarian cup while nibbling Swiss cheese, sitting at a Danish desk over a Persian rug, after coming home in a German car from an Italian movie..’ is an anonymous saying that practically defines the typical Canadian experience. No wonder that Margaret Atwood can comment that Canadians have issues with establishing their identity! In discussing Canadian writers, she argues that Canada as a state of mind does not really exist: “I'm talking about Canada as a state of mind, as the space you inhabit not just with your body but with your head. It's that kind of space in which we find ourselves lost." 4 In conclusion, given this we should ignore the work of writers in other countries in order to familiarize ourselves with our own writers. While some might view this as ignorant, taking this approach will allow Canadian students to see the value of our authors. Canadian classrooms need to ignore the achievements of American and British authors at this point in time. We can return to studying them once our students have a strong sense of our own writers, culturally.
