Business in Brief

The Boston Business Journal reported that the new plans for the property will also save the historic Jacob Wirth restaurant and reduce the tower's size by four levels to 24 stories.

Developer Eastat Realty Capital LLC, led by Eamon O'Marah, has an agreement to buy the land from FitzInn Parking Systems, which will keep its ownership of the restaurant next to the site.

O'Marah plans to build 250,000 square feet of office space, 2,000 square feet of retail space and 174 parking spaces at 45 Stuart St., the business newspaper reported. O'Marah said the project would cost $140 million to build. He expects ground to be broken next summer and the building to be ready for occupancy in February 2011.

High rates, credit crisis hurting business

Australian businesses are still smarting from the lingering global financial market fallout 12 months from the collapse of the US sub-prime mortgage market.

A report released today shows that business conditions have slumped to the lowest level since the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and suggests domestic economic growth will slow markedly.

The latest quarterly business summary from the National Australia Bank (NAB) says global financial market volatility and 12-year-high interest rates are hampering business operations and slowing down the economy.

And there appears to be no immediate relief in sight.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says in its April Global Financial Stability report that financial markets continue to be fragile and indicators of "systemic risks remain elevated''. more

Resolved Question: Can any one translate this from gobbldey goop to English?

business plans structure Title page: Title or heading of the plan and brief description if required, author, date, company/organization if applicable, details of circulation and confidentiality. Contents page: A list of contents (basically the sections listed here, starting with the Introduction page) showing page numbers, plus a list of appendices or addendums (added reference material at the back of the document) allowing the reader to find what they need and navigate the document easily, and to refer others to particular items and page numbers when reviewing or querying. Introduction page: Introduction and purpose of the plan, terms of reference if applicable (usually for formal and large plans or projects). Executive summary page: Optional and usually beneficial, this should normally be no more than a page long (or it's not an executive summary) - the key points of the whole plan including conclusions, recommendations, actions, financial returns on investment, etc., clearly readable in a few minutes. Main body of plan: sections and headings as required, see template below. Acknowledgments and bibliography/reference sources: if relevant (only required normally for very large formal plans) Appendices: appendices or addendums - additional detailed reference material, examples, statistics, spreadsheets, etc., for reference and not central to the main presentation of your plan. business plans - main body sections examples template This sample template is typical for a sales/marketing/new business development business plan. (A business plan for a more complex project such as an international joint-venture, or the formation of a new company including manufacturing plant or other overhead activities would need to include relevant information and financials about the overheads and resources concerned, and the financials would need to show costs and profits more like a fully developed profit and loss account, with cashflow projections, balance sheet, etc.) Where appropriate refer to your position regarding corporate ethics and social responsibility. While these aspects are not mechanisms within the plan, they are crucial reference points. 1.Define your market - sector(s) and segment(s) definitions 2.Quantify your market (overview only) - size, segmentation, relevant statistics, values, numbers (locations, people/users, etc) - make this relevant to you business 3.Explain your market(s) - sector trends, eg., growth, legislation, seasonality, PEST factors where relevant, refer to Ansoff matrix, show the strategic business drivers within sector and segments, purchasing mechanisms, processes, restrictions - what are the factors that determine customers' priorities and needs - this is a logical place to refer to ethics and CSR (corporate social responsibility 4.Explain your existing business - your current business according to sector, products/services, quantities, values, distributor, etc. 5.Analyse your existing customer spread by customer type, values and products/services including major accounts (the 'Pareto Principle' or the '80:20 rule' often applies here, eg., 80% of your business comes from 20% of your customers) 6.Explain your products and services - refer to Boston matrix and especially your strategic propositions (what these propositions will do for your customers) including your USP's and UPB's (see sales training section and acronyms) 7.Explain you routes to market, gatekeepers, influencers and strategic partners - the other organizations/individuals you will work with to develop your market, including 'what's in it for them', commissions, endorsements, accreditations, approvals, licenses, etc. 8.Case studies and track record - the credibility, evidence and proof that your propositions and strategic partnerships work 9.Competitor analysis, eg., SWOT analysis of your own business compared to SWOT analysis of each competitor 10.Sales/marketing/business plan (1 year min) showing sales and margins by product/service stream, mix, values, segment, 'distributor', etc, whatever is relevant, phased monthly, in as much detail as you need. This should be on a spreadsheet, with as many different sheets as necessary to quantify relevant inputs and outputs. 11.List your strategic actions (marketing campaigns, sales activities, advertising, etc) that will deliver the above, with costs and returns. This should be supported with a spreadsheet, showing cost and return on investment for each activity. Tip: If the business plan concerns an existing activity, use the previous year's sales/business analysis as the basis for the next year's sales/business plan. Adapt as necessary according to your new strategic plans. more

Resolved Question: Do you think the Federal Reserve leads to bankrupt nations..is the US going on its way to bankruptcy?

Do you believe we are in deep financial trouble that we won't be able to get out of? Do you agree with these writings & statements? The Federal Reserve - Fractional Banking System - always leads to bankrupt nations All countries in world have a Federal Reserve, like U.S, All these Federal Reserve are controlled by same 13 families.- Google: Fritz Springmeier 13 Illuminati Bloodlines Links to Fed. Res. articles below. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Federal-Reserve-Money-Creation < - Video - quick overview of how Fed. Res. collapses nations. Federal Reserve is private banks control over Americans. International bankers, with money & control, work together to increase their wealth & power, stripping citizens, governments of capital, property, rights, liberties. In history, it seems our governments have increased human rights, but, in fact, this cabal of intl. bankers has increased their financial strangle hold on citizens, business, governments worldwide. In 1913, the Intl. Banker prompted & passed the Banking Act. The US Constitution requires that our government print money, interest free, and set interest rates. But instead, the Banking Act lets the Federal Reserve, a group of private, foreign banks, issue Fed. Res. debt notes (currency) and set interest rates. Emergences (pretended) of war, famine, etc. make our U.S. government borrow more and more, increasing our U.S. debt (with interest) to them. Fed. Res. is unconstitutional. The 16th amendment to US Constitution makes American citizens subject to pay back these loans through their personal income tax. The more U.S. government borrows money (wars & emergencies), debt & interest increases, our money is depreciated, inflation rages. Huge debts for our children ! Fed. Res. raises and lowers banks interest rates to increase their Fed. Res. profits. Fed. Res. continue to concentrate their power and control. In all areas, banking, food, health, ... there is rapid change where those in power are increasing their power. The stated advantage is the Fed. Reserve is working to protect citizens, business, but they're really just increasing the power, wealth, control of the controlling elites, the bankers, over the rights of citizens worldwide - increasing power of the few over many. In America, we once had 1,000s of newspaper owners. Now just 9 corporations control our mainstream; news,TV, books, movies. In all things; banking, food, health, the world moves towards greater concentration of power & control, the few over the man, with less & less individual freedom ! Fractional Banking How it works to advantage of bankers, theft of individuals Thanks for help. more

Resolved Question: Thesis Statement?

My friend and I are having a disagreement about thesis statments. We are both in this super hard honors geography class (the other honor class gets to make their own finals, and no one has ever gotten close to getting a perfect on my one of teacher's finals, see the difference). And we're writting an essay, due tomorrow, either for self sufficiency for free trade in an LDC. I think that the thesis statment should include all of the topics that will be discussed, while my friend thinks that it should just be an overview. Examples, Mine: Free trade assists Less Developed Countries to develop by increasing their Gross Domestic Product per Capita, allow the country to sell raw materials, and requires businesses to keep up with international standards. Hers: The Free Trade system has more advantages over the Self Sufficiency system for the less developed countries. Our teacher has never said anything to the contrary... so any help would be appreciated!Um, I uploaded my whole essay as a question, here's a link. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiY3UslYglcOoWQQrjORAMwjzKIX?qid=20070416160221AABPkdu more
