Business district gets council approval

In an effort to spur further development along Central Park Plaza Drive, the O'Fallon City Council gave a tentative blessing to a proposed 39-acre Business District between American TV and Frank Scott Parkway.A special feature of the district is an incentive that would allow businesses to collected a 1 percent sales tax in addition to the 7.6 percent sales tax already levied; the extra sales tax would go to the businesses.According to the staff opinion, written by Director of Finance Dean Rich and City Administrator Walter Denton, the city was "successful in attracting several car dealerships and a couple of large retail functions, but have had limited success beyond Garden Ridge and American TV. Twice in recent years, we were successful in attracting a major retail competitors to Sam's, only to loose them to other communities that offered an economic incentive."With the downturn in the economy and other communities in the area already providing incentives, our property is less attractive to the reduced number of businesses willing to start development in an uncertain economy. more

Internet Business Complaints Questions asked

Voting Question: Reporting an illegal immigrant entrepreneur engaged in criminal activity?

I know two relatively large businesses that are owned by an illegal immigrant who employs other undocumented illegal immigrants and evades taxes. If I make a complaint how likely is it that something will be done about it? I'm planning on calling ICE since I live in the US. He also sells hacked modems without a license and installs illegal internet. Before you go and call me racist, this person is white and I'm a person of color. I know that this individual makes racist comments all the time, so its not an issue of race. He has cheated me and I would really like him to get what he deserves. I have nothing against illegal immigrants. What are the chances that he will get caught?I never bought anything from them. Just borrowed this individual some money which he refuses to give me back. Yes, he installs fake Internet. I don't know how he does it but he installs hacked modems so that people can have unlimited access to internet without paying. more

Resolved Question: What would be best :Need antivirus /security help pls?

Need antivirus /security help pls Was thinking between the two:Norton Internet Security 2010 or Symantec Norton 360 3.0 but didnt hear such great reviews... My mom just got her toshiba netbook and my dad has his new laptop, we have a house computer (but are getting a new one in the next month or so ) So my mom wants to get some sort of antivirus /security for all three. She doesn't know which one to pick between the two. any suggestions would be helpful. If it helps, my dad will be deploying to afghanistan and taking his laptop. My mom will be using her netbook just while traveling and for personal use while home. The desktop will be used for me and my sister on our settings to go to myspace, facebook, disney and some game sites . For my mom it will mainly used for research and business. She also works from home so, if this helps. Thanks. * Or if not these two, what should my mom buy, or if you suggest a free download please provide a link, my mom has to install on my dads computer before he deploys ( we might not have 30 days to try trials, so personal reviews are helpful). He may not have the best coverage to download where he will be.So we have to do this soon. Thanks again everyone. We do have AVG on the desktop rt now, and are using the free edition.Just started , no complaints yet.But we didnt really know if that would be enough for like banking and business too. more

Resolved Question: What is the success margin for working with Vector Marketing?

I'm not dumb enough to think its a scam -- if it was, it would have been shut down years ago. I also know their products are high-quality, and I accept the fact that big business will try big-business tactics and yes, the training is unpaid. (But honestly, if you wanted paid training, go work at Fry's.) The 4-hour talk-a-thon I got trapped in at least seemed more up-front about costs (such as the sample knife set) and realistic than many others', if complaints read on the internet are to be believed. BUT... I'm not a salesman. I have no experience and I'm shy and extremely soft-spoken. I am not the most officious business-style dresser. I like my casual-wear skirts and old worn sandals. I need money. NOW. Not three weeks from now, NOW. I'm screwed, I can't afford to waste time. The training overlaps with my other job's work schedule -- not in hours, but in days. I will be spending my time from Thursday morning until Monday evening awake. I do not have family or contacts within a 2500-mile range that would be eligible to buy Cutco. ... So I need to know facts. What is the success margin for people working with Vector Marketing? Just HOW misleading in the first "interview" in terms of how pushy management is for you to make sales, and how will they require me to make sales to friends and family who do not exist? Do they fire frequently? Does anyone know how badly the market's been saturated in Phoenix/Tempe, AZ? Just HOW bad are gas-to-appointment costs? My office offers 16 dollars an appointment, but will I be driving 150 miles out of town? Does the company has scruples against certain marketing techniques? It makes it very obvious that door-to-door is VERY frowned down on (at least in the initial meeting -- and quite frankly, I have no intentions of doing such a thing), but what about using technology such as Craigslist, leaving business cards with other businesses, and operating a website to offer people the chance to set up appointments? more

Resolved Question: What's the hurry spanky?

I was just replying to you and was surprised you closed the Q that soon with you thinking you got nasty responses , and I assure you , you misunderstood what H is telling you , H did not mean to insult you. However please read my answer (or now question) below , and answer it if you have further inquiries on this subject. Other members input is always welcome. --- I bet you none of these are actually sent by real Dubai based companies or businesses , most of these are fake from people in other countries impersonating Dubai or UAE entities , to cash-in on the boom in dubai and the coverage it has been getting worldwide, they abuse that and all these e-mail lists and spam servers are not actually based in UAE . A lot of these come from Nigerian, Russia, east Europe, US, India, & Malaysia. The UAE can't reach these people because they are not operating from with in the UAE. Of course there may be some actual or real businesses sending promos, but for the real ones you can simply contact them and ask to be removed from any promo list or just add their e-mail your spam filter. Some times your own ISP/ webmail sends you ads for other companies they deal with , these are not really spam, they are just part of the way the operate. Unless you are on Hotmail they do send a lot of spam on that , try Yahoo or Google or whatever there are thousands of free mail websites not all of them are after spam money. As for operating a "scammer" business in UAE, that is very hard to do and the law is very strict if caught. The UAE has a specific internet law to prosecute any one that does that. But of course nothing is 100% proof , they may find a way but I don't know of any (internet scam from within UAE) , and haven't heard of such cases in a long time. We have several e-mail boxes with a UAE provider , and 1 of them always gets spam as you describe and it is quite annoying to the point we stopped using it, while the other e-mails on the same provider do not have the spam problem. These people who spam you must have gotten your e-mail from an online list some where or from a real company that you dealt with (like if you bought some thing or subscribed to a magazine etc). Where in this company sold the e-mail list of its customers to other parties for profit. Note that for the legitimate spam (not scams or viruses) opening them is not that risky because you need to open those to read how to "unsubscribe" or find out the contact e-mail that you can send a complaint to to make them stop sending you the ads. If you are not sure if has a malicious script in the e-mail then you can stomp that from being activated by turning off the script & java from running in your browser options settings. (this will also turn it off in Outlook e-mail reader -- meaning "options" in IE or Control Panel , it is the same) Just because a spam e-mail has pictures of Dubai does not mean it was sent from there , a lot of travel agents around the world work on commission and pay people to promote their deals TO DUBAI, from their own XYZ country, on the internet , it is not really any one from Dubai doing that. To check from which country & ISP the e-mail is coming from first you need to change your webmail or mail reader program to display full headers (usually not displayed , they are like the caller ID info), after which find out the domains + IPs shown on the headers text and do a WHOIS search on them, this will show the actual ISP and what country it operates from. Once you have done that go to the ISP page (which will be given along wit contact in the WHOIS info), and try to find out from their website how to lodge a span complaint . Send the complaint report to the ISP along with the offending IP of theirs (one of their customers) and a copy of the actual "headers" as proof it came from their service. Also provide exact time it was received because dynamic IPs are shared and they can only find out by the time this occurred. They will start an investigation until thy match which of their users did it and they will suspend their account. Some ISPs depending on the country may actually report the user to police or file a law suit against the spammer if they are a respectable company. Finally UAE domains are limited , and there are only 2 ISPs, namely Etisalat and Du. If your spam shows other ISP names then it did not come from UAE.H, yes I too did not see any other replies so that is why I assumed he misunderstood . But after this Q he replied privately and explained it was because of the name calling , so I don't know exactly may be there were some thing we missed. more

Voting Question: has anyone bought a product that was in stock only to be told it was out of stock after paying for item?

I decided to buy a Wii Fit combo bundle deal of a well known website that is Pay pal verified and has good reputation on the internet. I decided to purchase the Wii Fit bundle on a late Sunday night, when the item was suppose to be in stock and available to buy. Well, when I took a look to see if the item had been sent out to delivery a few days later, the online store stated that my order was on hold and different offer a reason why, my order was on hold. When I checked to see the status of the Wii fit bundles were still in stock on this website, it stated that the online website or store was out of stock the very next day after I purchased the Wii Fit. I have contacted the seller and haven't had any luck. I was wondering if it was legal for the seller to hold my money funds if they are out of stock of the Wii fit? According to their website, they have none on back log or plan on ordering any more. I don't shop online very often and this was a special purchase and I don't want to be ripped off of over $100.00 dollars. I talked to pay pal, but it was suggested that I work out the problem with the seller before filing a complaint or suit with Pay pal. The website or online website stated that my order would be sent the next business day and if there were a problem with my order, that I would receive a notified email about the problem. I haven't received a problem email about my order or no response from the seller. Has anyone ever had this problem or have any suggestions? more

Resolved Question: How can I get my parents to quit being so nagging and controlling?

I'm 19 years old. I'm still living at home with my parents, until I move next year. All my life my parents have been excessively-controlling...never letting me do "fun" things everybody else can do etc. I never even got to go to kid's birthday parties etc or hang out with friends. My parents have also always constantly nagged....reminding me about things dozens of times when I obviously remembered after the first time. Okay, so I'm an adult now and this still continues. Even worse, my mother thinks she has to always be into my business...I can't surf the internet on my laptop without her coming into the room and either having to sit next to me to see what I'm doing or pretend she's doing something to peek over my shoulder. My dad's almost as bad. (They're bad at disguising it lol) It's getting ridiculous because I'm almost twenty now, and I've been pretty vocal in my complaints. Their excuse is that while I'm living in their house anything I do IS there business....for instance, anytime I leave the house I HAVE to tell them where I'm going. And the nagging continues. Is there anything I can do or say to convince them to quit being so nagging and controlling??!?! I'm very frustrated.Good point Elmo but I don't want to get kicked out prematurely. And my parents are white. lolYeah maybe I should be more appreciative of my parents, but still I just wish they would give me a little more space.I have a job, but they don't count it as a "real" job....because I work from home. As far as doing nice things....well I do chores...wash dishes....mow the lawn....take out trash....etc. Basically my way of paying rent. lol more

Resolved Question: Do you all think I am a "pit bull" (metaphorically speaking)?

My partner and I have had a problem with a company calling us about a debt with a company we've never done business with, or even secondary business with — so, when they called again today (at 8 am) I did a trace on the phone number over the Internet, found out that the company in question was a corrupt company with a long, LONG history of this kind of behavior and an equally long history of complaints against them; then I went to my telephone carrier's website and got the list of all phone calls this company made and filed complaints against them with the state attorney general's office and the country district attorney. The company called again 20 minutes ago, and I told them what I'd found out about them and what actions I'd taken. All of a sudden I was transferred up three levels of management — and was just told by manager number three that I'm a "pit bull". Do you all think I am a "pit bull" (metaphorically speaking) — and if I am, is that necessarily such a bad thing? (People who know me well know it's a good idea not to f. with me.)Devon: it was clear after ten minutes that the guy with whom I was speaking really wanted to go, but I had absolutely *no* intention of letting him go — not after weeks of these phone calls! more

Resolved Question: What governing body above Verizon DSL can I complain to?

Is there any governing body I can write to in order to file an official complaint with Verizon DSL. I ask because it seems that Verizon DSL has terrible internet and customer service. It took one month before they could actually give me functional internet. I have my business and my first month of internet service consisted of dropped internet connection while in online web meetings with potential clients. The internet was shutting down many times per day stopping me from working because I depend heavily on the internet. Please let me know if there is anyone beyond Verizon I can send my following complaint below to. If you have any other advice, please feel free to let me know.Thanks. My complaint (you don't have to read it all but it's horrible): I recently moved in January from Costa Mesa, CA to West Covina, CA. I had to change my DSL provider from AT&T to Verizon. I was told by an automated voicemail message that my DSL would be activated on Tuesday January 12, 2010. So I was looking forward to have internet as I have my own business (Drakenology Inc.) that does web page development work and heavily depends on using the internet to send customers email and to talk to my customers over the web cam in meetings. So on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, I hooked up my DSL. And I have done this plenty of times as I was an AT&T DSL customer for 4 and half years. So the internet did not work even though Verizon said my DSL was not activated. So I just decided to wait until the next day. So I waited until the next day Wednesday, January 13, 2010 until 2pm. I restarted my modem and my computer and made sure the modem was on and it was directly connected to the phone line. It still did not work. So I called tech support. They did everything in their power to fix it as I was on the phone getting direction from them for more than three hours. After three hours they decided to actually bring a tech service man to come to my house to fix my DSL internet. They scheduled the appointment for the tech service man to come to my house on Monday, January 18, 2010. First of all I was unhappy that my internet did not work as I had to do work for my home business. And secondly I was unhappy that I had to wait 6 days for someone to come fix my DSL internet. I was losing 6 days of productivity in my business. This was ridiculous. So after six days of no internet the tech service man finally shows up on Monday morning around 9am on January 18, 2010. He turned on my computer and saw that the internet was not working. He then told me the action tek modem I had was not compatible with Verizon DSL. I told him I used the same modem for AT&T DSL and it worked fine. I then later told him the modem was a year old and I bought this modem myself and it was not an approved AT&T modem. He just kept on telling me I needed a new modem. He recommended two modems to me which was the westtell and another type of action tek. So I went to best buy and bought the action tek. After a couple hours of troubleshooting it did not work. And then I was getting even more upset since this Verizon DSL Tech told me to buy this modem. He told me it would work and it did not. So I was wasting my time and my money on a non functional modem he had told me to get. So I went out on my own and bought another modem. I bought a modem that the tech service man did not recommend. So I set up my internet and the generic modem (model name zoom ADSL X6) started to work properly and now my internet was working. I then called Verizon to voice my unhappiness and told them that I did not want to get billed for internet starting on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 because I did not have functional DSL internet until Tuesday, January 19, 2010. This was one week late! This cost me time and money for my business. So the supervisor was nice and said a few things to me: She said that the tech service man did not follow standard procedure in diagnosing my problem. The tech service man should have brought a modem with him to check the internet problem. Then she gave me a 25 dollar credit to my account. But I was really angered when she told me that your own Verizon tech person did not follow standard Verizon procedure and bring a modem with him to check my internet properly. He just looked at my modem and told me to buy an approved modem which ended up not working. He could have saved me time and money if he brought his approved modem to really check out my internet the right way. I had to go out of my way and get a modem he approved that didn’t even work. So I started using my DSL internet with the generic modem of my choice (model name zoom ADSL X6) and it worked, but I came to realize that the internet speed was so very slow. I went online to run a speed test. I remember that my previous service provider of AT&T was many times faster. So after a couple weeks I finally decided to call Verizon. It took me so long time because I was wishing that the problem would resolve itse more

Resolved Question: Cho Yung Tea and Colon Cleanser Scam!?

Just wondering how may other people have fell for the scam? And have lost money!? Just lately there have been a lot of private sellers and several business sellers advertising a so called slimming product I thought I should warn you what I have found out from personal research about this so called "amazing" product. A lot of private sellers are selling this because they have been stung by a website on the interenet ,I know this for a fact because I was also silly enough to buy into it.Being desperate to loose weight after having my son and having tried almost every method you can name I stumbeled accross an advert on the internet for a free trial of this amazing product cho yung tea ,it looked ligit sounded great so I signed up agreeing to pay only £1.99 in postage to get a months "FREE" trial, in due course my tea came and I started it eagerley . Now firstly you need to know this is NOT a free trial as I later found out way too late, just over a month after I had my tea. The people at cho yung tea then took my bank details and used them to do there flamin' shopping in Israel via my debit card money, I did not authorise them to take any money apart from the P+P for my "FREE TRIAL" to be sent to me. I was lucky enough for my bank to notice it so they contacted me straight away and gave me my money back and got there Fraud Squad on to it. On doing further research I discovered a whole heap of people on the web who too had been conned by these people some loosing as much AS £48 - £72.50 "a packet of tea" .There is a link on Martins money saving tips website about this (the guy off the tv who exposes people like this). Now I don't begrudge these people who have, like me,been ripped off ,selling this tea to try and get their money back but what I do object to and wanted to warn others about is what Ive since discovered about the tea. It contains powerful laxatives which give you dirrohea and mess with your stomach and bowels ,yes you will loose weight at first but this is due to it literally dehydrating your body of neccessary water!!I Have this on the advise of my GP. It claims to reduce bloating but after a month of being on it you WILL bloat ,you very well may, like me,get incredible stomach pain, you may feel sick and tierd all the time, your breath may begin to smell foul and your tounge may grow a coating as the stomach lining is actually broken down by this foul stuff. All of this happened to me when I drank the stuff ,it also has stuff in it to get you addicted to drinking it. None of these things are mentioned on the packet or on the website or in sellers listings . I lost quite a bit of weight but then it stopped and I started getting ill, blood in the motions, incredible pain in the abdomen etc etc .People, it simply isn't worth it .please please please if you are thinking of getting this stuff ask your Gp about the stuff in its ingredients and be careful. Trading standards are looking into loads of complaints about people not only being ripped off moneywise by this thieving company but also people being ill because of the stuff in this tea something I've not seen any seller yet admit to. Please people DONT BUY THIS STUFF. These are the sites that led me to the tea - Hope anyone reading this hasnt fell for it. mumsweightloss.co.uk http://www.choyung-tea.co.uk http://www.prohealthcleanse.com more

Resolved Question: Motorola Droid vs. Blackberry Tour?

I have had the Blackberry tour for 2 weeks but a few friends have recommended Droid to me. So I'm still thinking. I need help deciding since I have not used Droid before. I use my phone mostly for personal emails, facebook, MSN chatting (very important and BB Tour has that IM app), web browsing, texting and a little bit of gaming. No business related. I also do not go out of country much so global roaming doesn't mean a thing to me. I do not drive so GPS is not a factor. I DO care about the battery life. I had an iphone for 2 months and I absolutely hated it. It was because of AT&T's bad service that caused the constant search of signal, making the battery died extremely fast. I had to charge at least twice a day (I live in NYC, not in the jungle). I do not mind charging the phone once a day, but I want to be able to use it when I need it. I used to have a phone with QWERTY keyboard, iphone with virtual keyboard, and BB Tour with full keyboard. To me, keyboard is very easy to get used to so it's not a problem for me. I like the Droid because of the big screen and seems to be more fun with apps and web browsing like the iphone. I may not like it because it seems a little heavy and bulky. But I figure if it's the size and weight of an iphone, then I can deal with it. My only worry is the battery life since touch screen kills alot of battery. So far, I like the Tour, decent battery life and solid performance. The only complaint is that there is not much free apps and the web browsing is dull and only one website at a time, smaller screen with a trackball. I definitely do not surf the internet as much as when I had the iphone or as much as I would hope to because of that. But again, I think if the Droid has the same problem as iphone (which I doubt since it's not AT&T anymore), I will probably not consider it. Otherwise, I will. Please help. more

Resolved Question: stonebridge college scam?

I contacted Stonebridge College yesterday - they are an online college and I have never spoken to someone so rude. When I had had enough of his rudeness and lack of help, I asked him to speak to the complaints manager, he simply replied saying they didn't exist and that he would now refuse my business and i was no longer allowed to study with that college - I hadn't even enrolled yet - thank god! I have searched the internet since and have seen some really bad feedback - they must be a scam right? more

Resolved Question: filing a complaint with a private company?

i went to a pc repair place that offers internet service. i was using a port in the back of the store and one of their workers sat down next to me for a full fourty minutes and harrassed me sexually. i was so uncomfortable. finally his boss saw him and asked if i was ok. i said yes just becuase i was so uncomfortable. he was commenting on what i viewed on the internet and saying things like "i wish that was see-thru" in reference to a model wearing a rain coat (i was searching for rain coats). talking about daryl hannah running around naked in some movies from the 80's. and finally asking "what do you do in the evenings?" this isn't sexual but he also went off on barrack obama and said that he was a socialist and WE (as if to include me?) don't like that. i told the manager right after this and he dismissed it. i later found out that the manager had been fired from his previous job for hitting on a 16 year old girl. so i want to file a complain with the owner. i originally went there because my hard drive crashed so now i am concerned he went through my photos. i did have compromsing pictures on there. but they are sexist pigs and i am afraid of being ripped off and offended again and dont really want to be one on one with them. one problem i have is that i forgot the date that this happened on. whats the most efficient way to get this done? and can you give me any tips so that i dont have to put up with anymore shit. a lot of small businesses make a lot of money per week and i think that i could sue and get a settlement.so if someone is so unocmfortable that they become frigid they have no chance of later stating their discomfort. i did tell the manager and he didn't care. more

Resolved Question: Why do we dislike snitches?

Not like blowing the whistle on something important, like for murder, theft, rape, assault, selling potentially dangerous products, computer viruses, corrupt business practice, cult abuse. But for petty stuff, like having a small sip of alcohol, taking a day off of school, putting mail in a friends mailbox, swearing, watching a rated R movie, telling an innappropriate joke, or chat questions on YA. We automatically find them to be a loser, tattle tale, baby, brown noser, uncool, traitors, ect. This is pretty much seen at all levels -Filing a police complaint over a small misdemeanor -Telling the principal for something stupid -Blabbing out someones personal secrets -Snitching little sibbling who tells mom and dad about everything the older sibbling does -Filing a report for breaking a small company policy(Like one day forgetting to wear a name badge) -Making reports on the internet on websites such as facebook, myspace, Yahoo, youtube and other forums on stuff such as a fake myspace page, chatting questions, a dirty picture, or use of a copyrighted song. So why do we hate them. -Because we got screwed over thanks to someone else? -We got in trouble, even though someone else did the dirty deed? -We got in some type of trouble, but its easier to blame others, so why not the person who told -Someone else has forced their ideals on you -Someone else took your rights of privacy away -Because they are usually revered by the ones in high places. -Because its difficult to except unnatural rules, and even more difficult to respect the one who enforces them -It is often complete betrayal -The consequence for the action is worse than the action itself(Getting arrested for speaking ill of the government) more

Resolved Question: What can I do about Invincible Construction impersonating me on Craigslist and accusing me of theft?

I post on Craigslist all the time. I invested in some "Sylon Mini-Split Air Conditioners". My ex-co worker who owns "Invincible Construction" is selling the same units. He also sells on Craigslist. I sell mine $50 cheaper. He started to make ads with the same title as mine and looks like mine. In the title he adds (SCAM Stolen Property). He states that the person who posted this ad(Me) broke into his warehouse and stole 10 units. He states that I'm selling these as stolen property and anyone who buys them from me will be charged also. He puts his phone number on the ad and a link to his website or ad. I've probably made around 10 ads and he does it to every one of them. Now I can't sell them because people think I'm a thief now. He's ruined my name and I can't sell the units I invested in on Craigslist. He even made an ad impersonating me. Stating that I was selling stolen AC's and didn't care about the police. He put my name on the ad, my phone number and street I live on. Stated that I leave my garage door open and to come on by anytime. If any of this were true the police would have arrested me by now. He's even emailed me a death threat and stated that I better hope my mother isn't home when he gets there. My mother is disabled and I take care of her. He knows this because we used to work together. My mother is afraid to go of the house. I have all of this copied on paper and in my computer. I contacted Internet Crimes Complaints. They contacted the St. Pete Police Dept. I gave the officer copies of all the ads and emails. I asked about the death threat and he said there was a jurisdiction problem because "Invincible Construction" is located in Clearwater. I have heard nothing from the Police in 3 days. They have all of my evidence. I've contacted other agencies like FTC,IC3,BBB and the Dept. of Justice and Consumer Affairs. I want to know if I have a civil and/or criminal case? This is so out of control. I contacted Craigslist multiple times and they have done or said nothing about the issue. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH "INVICIBLE CONSTRUCTION". They use scare tactics in their sales practices. All of this is allegedly until proven otherwise. What can I do? more

Resolved Question: Why Can't I Subscribe to Specific Cable Channels Online?

After purchasing a TV and computer with HDMI jacks, I quickly realized that I didn't need to pay for cable anymore. There are a wealth of TV shows available on-demand through Netflix Instant, Hulu and Fancast and a variety of other websites for free. They sound great, they look great, and I have no complaints whatsoever. Some of my favorite cable shows (Daily Show and Colbert Report, for instance) are also available for free. That said, there is a wealth of programming that ISN'T available online. If you like a show like True Blood on HBO, for instance, you either have to subscribe to cable (uggh) and then pay an extra premium for HBO or download it illegally from a torrent site. Same goes for Showtime if you like Dexter. My question is, why do networks have to be channeled through a cable company these days? Why doesn't HBO sell me an online subscription directly, and then offer a live stream over the internet? I would be willing to pay a similar rate that I pay the cable company, yet there would be no middle-man to take a cut. Same goes for non-premium channels like Comedy Central or SyFy. Does anyone know the business reasoning behind not offering direct subscriptions? more

Resolved Question: Business Rating: Total Cargo Express in Miami FL?

I'm considering contracting with Total Cargo Express in Miami for an internation move. Checking into things on the internet doesn't really provide any information. Voting Question: Is paypal pulling a scam on me?

I recently bought a fake memory card from ebay. I filed a claim and was asked to mail the product back to the seller. I did. It cost me a little over 10 dollars which is 1/3 of the price of the card. After I sent the tracking information I got this email stating,"Thank you for providing the online tracking information for the returning item. This tracking information has been shared with the seller. Once delivery of the item can be confirmed, a refund will be issued." Now a week later I get a email stating, "To continue with the investigation of your complaint, we must request documentation to support your claim that the item is not authentic. Please obtain a document from an unbiased, third-party, such as a dealer, appraiser, or an organization that is qualified in the area of the item in question (other than yourself), which clearly identifies the item as not authentic. The document must specifically state how the item received differs from an authentic item and must include a detailed explanation of how the person evaluating the item determined that it is not authentic. If possible, the document should include a serial number, and must be on letterhead that includes the name, address, and phone number of the business or organization so that PayPal may contact them if necessary." In a another paragraph it states that they will cancel my claim if not filed by a certain date. I followed the ebay guide and according to the guide in multiple tests that I did myself it was fake. I did not know I needed an appraiser and a legal document to show this item is fake to get a refund. Oddly paypal asks me to send these documents 1 week after I mailed the 10 cent piece of plastic. I don't have these documents. I need to know my options to get my money back, just the 30 dollars. If anyone in the internet can help me, please do. more

Look at barrera-autosales.com, autoaven, com and stars-auto.com they have made some changes to the web page but it is still a scam site quote Denver News BBB Flooded With Complaints On 2 Auto Auction Sites Stars-Automart, Autoaven Sent Cease And Desist Letters POSTED: 12:41 pm MDT August 11, 2009 DENVER -- The Denver office of the Better Business Bureau said its telephone helpline has been jammed with calls from people across the country who are asking about two auto sales Web sites that claim to be headquartered in Denver. According to the BBB, calls have been nonstop and the BBB has sent a "cease and desist" notice regarding trademark infringement to the company because of a fake BBB report the sites link to that falsely shows the company with an A+ rating. The two Web sites list one physical address as 10701 W. Sixth Ave, but that address actually belongs to BBB Accredited business, Automotive Avenues, Inc. Another link goes to 3925 Monaco Parkway, which actually belongs to Cintas Document Management -- a paper shredding company. The two Web sites, www.stars-automart.com and www.autoaven.com, claim to offer sales of repossessed vehicles. The BBB said customers complain that once a majority payment is sent via MoneyGram to a Denver address, the company ceases communication. The company has not responded to the BBB. An Internet check shows the two domain names are registered to a private registration company in Sunnyvale, Calif. The BBB said it sent out the warning because on-delivery and Internet auction fraud were the top two complained-about fraud types at the Internet Crime Complaint Center. "The BBB takes complaints very seriously and does not want any more consumers to be victimized," a news release stated. TheDenverChannel attempted to contact the Web sites without success. The phone number listed on the site goes to a recording, which suggests callers contact them by e-mail. The same section of the stars-automart.com Web site lists a James Stewart as the owner. To protect from online scams, the BBB has the following suggestions: • Verify any organization credentials with the organization directly, (BBB, AutoTrader, Consumer Reports logos, etc.) • Check the company’s BBB report at www.denver.bbb.org or by calling 303-758-2100. Only do business online with websites you are familiar with and that have a positive track record. • Make sure the website has a privacy policy. It will contain agreements on how the information you provide on the website will be used and kept private and secure. Print this and keep it in your records. • The privacy policy may also contain the company’s mailing address. Only do business with companies that provide a sure method of contact, should something go wrong. • Do not wire transfer any payment. Voting Question: How do you counter online slander?

Background: About 6 years ago I was doing a pretty extensive job search, and was contacted back by a "recruiter" who requested my resume. I sent it in but never heard back, even when I called to follow up. Roughly a year later, so 5 years ago, I had started and then closed a business and was job-searching again. As I googled around to see if there were any new ways to put together a professional resume, any new trends etc, I clicked a link and was slapped in the face when my OWN RESUME appeared on the site owned by "Professional Resume Writers." Seems they place ads for employment, obtain resumes from innocent job-seeking applicants, then turn around to re-sell the stolen resumes to their "clients." I don't know if that's ok or not ok in the legal sense, but I had written mine and I didn't want them selling it. So I contacted the business and requested that they remove my resume from their website. They ignored me, so after the third request (phone message and email), I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and other types of similar online business complaint services. At that point, the business owners came UNGLUED and wrote several dozen pages of miscellaneous slanderous rhetoric about me which they are now broadcasting all over the Internet. Their extensive posting of misinformation about me is pretty much evidence (to me anyway) that they were in fact guilty of stealing other people's original work. Guess I hit a nerve. They easily obtained my employer's name, my home address, my phone info, and other personal data and proceeded to blast articles everywhere that I was a dishonest business person, that I was "deranged", that people should steer clear of doing business with me, etc etc etc. This has caused so much stress for me that in addition to having to change jobs and change phone numbers, I actually was compelled to legally change my name. When you google my old name, because of the wording, the meta tags, and the search engine placement these people have utilized; it appears as though I'm untrustworthy, crazy, and even a criminal. They even have my photo and contact information up on a website that they themselves maintain, that lists all of the slander they are posting about me. Is there anything I can do about this? How can they be using my photo? more

Resolved Question: Brimley Financial scam?

If there were previous complaints how is it they and other firms like them continue to stay in business? One person said they contacted the FBI and they have an "F" rating by the BBB. Obviously they are non-compliant with the State's banking and lending laws, interstate commerce laws and probably mail and other federal crimes. If that is the case they should should have been shut them down immediately or is it the fact that no wealthy people have been victimized like in the Madoff case so the government does not care? It's a disgrace that these predators exist on the Internet causing more harm to innocent people. more

Resolved Question: Are you a victim of cell phone "Premium SMS" text message FRAUD ?

Me and my husband did...since last year when I got my new Verizon phone, I started receiving these text messages that I thought were just advertisements for some match-making thing...the texts said something about "soulmate love" and $9.99, but I always deleted those as soon as I received them and never, ever replied or texted back anything. I never thought anything else about it until recently when my husband (who pays the bill online) was comparison shopping the plans so we can upgrade... and he found that we have been charged for over a year for these texts I'd been receiving. I never received any services...no horoscopes, no whatever they are...but we were charged all this time, and it was $20.00 per month and once it was $40 in addition to our normal cell phone bill. He never though much about our bill being $20 more...he thought I'd been texting my Mom a lot (who lives in another state) and he just paid the bills and was done with it. Last December, it was $40 more and he did mention to me about it being a lot higher but I told him I didn't understand and that I had not been texting her much at all. So, by accident he found out that we've paid about $400 more than we ever should...for services we never signed up for or agreed to !! We complained to Verizon and they eventually credited our account for $60 (they could only go back 3 months, they said) and we filed a FRAUD complaint with them. They also gave us the number to contact the company charging these fees, which is MOBILE MESSENGER, who also used names like soulmatelove.com and MMTXT that appears on your bill. They're all the same company and my husband researched the internet and found that the man that is behind this whole scam, and who is cheating tons of people around the WORLD out of money and wasting their time, as well...because they have to fight with their service carrier to get their money back, or some of it...he is living in Australia and there have been lawsuits against him in the past or maybe currently, I hope. He is a millionaire now because of his LOW-LIFE way of doing business, because he's too sorry to get a REAL JOB like most other people ! There are many class-action lawsuits going on because of these fraudulent text charges and we should all be aware and watch your cell phone bills carefully. If you find that you're having this same problem, DO something about it and complaint, file a fraud report, etc. I found this information on the man who supposedly owns this company--do with it what you may : If you'd like to fight back, send complaints to Mobile Messenger in Australia: Eugeni Zhenya Tsvetnenko 19 Hawkins St Mt Pleasant 6153 Australia 0 9364 6646 melissa.valenzuela@mobilemessenger.com david.young@mobilemessenger.com.au or Mobile Messenger in Santa Monica, California: Michael Pajaczkowski 2700 Colorado Ave #450, Santa Monica, CA 90404 mobilemessenger.com CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT VERIZON WIRELESS AND OTHER CARRIERS ARE ALLOWING THIS TO HAPPEN ??? Knowing that there are all of these lawsuits going on and unauthorized charges...and yet they let these THIEVES continue to use THEM to do their billing !! They must make a profit on the transactions, so they are just as guilty UNTIL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND STOP DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS. Have you had similar experiences and if so, please share them here on Yahoo Answers...maybe one day we can do something to stop this junk from happening anymore. Thanks for any input you have ! more

Resolved Question: Anyone else receiving weird text messages on your cell phones and later found that you've been charged ?

I've really got my eye on the Sony Ericsson T707. Any complaints, unsatisfications?? Is it worth buying?? Which other phones would you recommend? Almost the same price as T707 and nice-looking?? No music phone. Camera phone, yes. Business/Internet-y phone, no. more

Voting Question: Whom to complaint about rediff online shopping fraud?

I purchased a cordless phone through rediff shopping from the seller 'electronixmall' on 14th June. They claimed to ship within 7 business days. Till now not shipped. No response for emails. Contact phone number provided by rediff is found to be a not in use number. Contacted rediff customer care. They claimed to respond within 2 business days. No response even after 6 business days. Contacted ICICI bank which I used for making payment and who claims rediff shopping as their esteemed partner. They responded that they made the payment and they have no further responsibility. I also found several similar fraud done by/through rediff shopping in an internet search. more

Resolved Question: Why can't teens understand the original purpose of YouTube?

In the real world, uploading a series of random images accompanied by somebody else's recording is NOT making a video. The founders of YouTube intended it as a site for ordinary people to share their HOME videos - 100% their own work - images and sound. The mass use of copyrighted music was simply never foreseen (music copyright law has been around for over 70 years and the existence of the Internet does not somehow magically change nor cancel existing law). The teen obsession with using somebody else's work rather than creating their own is the principal reason for YouTube beginning to give up on ordinary users to concentrate on large scale and corporate users. There have been complaints on here about the YouTube changes, but the fact is teens only have themselves to blame. Their obsession with getting themselves on YouTube with the minimum of effort and creativity has caused YouTube immense legal problems with record labels and movie studios to the point where if YouTube had not begun doing something positive to stop the misuse of copyrighted material, they could have gotten sued and put out of business. If your idea of making a video is throwing some random images together with a commerically released song playing in the background, your video is likely to get either muted or deleted simply because YouTube has to protect itself from litigation initiated by copyright owners. more

Resolved Question: The ACAI Berry "Free trial" scam DO NOT DO IT?

There is a scammer wrecking havoc on here today named donald. He's promoting "free trials" for both dazzel white and the acai berry. I'm almost positive he works for these people. Do not fall for it. This is a scam. Oprah did NOT promote these products, and her representatives are working on a case against these scammers for using her name! Here's what happens in these free trials. You can google dazzel white complaint, or acai berry complaint, and you will see what I mean. These companies are preying on people who are desperate to change their looks through dieting and teeth whitening, and even wrinkles. (you may have seen the fake blogs where a "mom" finds a dynamic duo, which is always 2 "free trials") Here's how the scam works. The "free trial" is for 14 days beginning the DAY YOU ORDER! not when you get it. You must cancel within those 14 days in order to cancel your "free acceptance" into a membership where they autoship their crappy products every month for about $90. They also may have signed you up for internet clubs that charge 20-30 dollars a months, so check your statements if you've already fallen for this. They are likely charging you more than the $90 a month. Do NOT fall for the "cancel anytime" claims, or even believe you can cancel within 14 days and not be charged. Often you will be charged anyway because they will "have no record of you cancelling". And, a lot of these companies will admit that the free trial is only free if you were one of the lucky ones that didn't open or use the product and sent it back with an "RMA" number. See you can't even refuse these delieveries you get EVERY month with no relief. They only accept unopened packages with RMA numbers which are almost impossible to get. You either have to call or e mail to get one. The e mails almost ALWAYS go unanswered, and it is VERY difficult to get someone on the phone (sometimes it takes hours on hold). And some of these companies even change the return address so often that packages never get delievered, just so they can charge you anyhow. Also there's been many complaint that people have cancelled these products. They've gotten a cancellation number, and while the company does not send you the packages anymore, they still bill you anyway monthly! How do they get away with it? Easy, they bury all of these fact in their terms of "service". You can usually get to the terms of service by scrolling ALL the way down the page and clicking a link saying terms of use or service. There you will see that if you've already ordered this, you got scammed! If you have been scammed please report the business to the bbb(dot)org. also report them to the attorney general of the operating state. It is impossible to dispute these charges because of the buried terms of service. They are posted, but are hard to see and easy to look over, so you pretty much can't dispute the charges. Be safe and if you want to whiten your teeth for free, check out the questions I've posted. It will say how to whiten your teeth for free, beware of scams. These are REALLY free household ingredients. As far as losing weight, the acai berry is useless. Experts have said this. Do not fall for it. Just take in less calories than you burn!Neil, the worst that could happen is that they WILL, not might, WILL take $90 a month 14 days after you order. Do not fall for this people, it looks as if we have a bunch of people working for these scammers. The acai berry is useless, I've read real studies by real doctors, and these scammers will also use CNN to dupe youI have reported and will continue to report these scammers every time I see the promoting these scams on here. Even though I know they will just make another profile, I at least want to put them through the trouble for that.See I'm new to this as of yesterday. But I've been reading up on these scammers for a long time now. They are EVERYWHERE I guess. Ray<3, thank you for your post and for reporting these people. Tommorrow I will chose your answer as the best on this one! more

Voting Question: Might sue "American Cash Awards"?

Ok well, Im going to be sending my refund check to AmericanCashAwards mostly because I felt I was scammed, During the transaction with the salesman I made a last second decision when he was finishing up the payment slip and it sayed it couldnt be cancled... So when he left I put together an envelope to send it back and get a refund... Now I looked up this company because I was curious and I found out the BBB -better business bureau gave them an F http://www.bbb.org/denver/business-reviews/magazines-distributors/american-cash-awards-in-golden-co-90026127 And I've read complaints like this one on this site http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/american-cash-awards-c216074.html there are many more but, if they don't supply me with me refund is it reasonable to file a suit or something?, and Im going to tell them they have bad ratings with the BBB, and other complaints accross the internet.. If they try and tell me it will be multiple months for a refund, since I payed in cash and the refund should take a matter of days instead of up to a few months. So is what Im doing right? This company is located in Colorado Calling them tomorrow if they pull the 3 week deal for a refund Im gonna do something..Door To Door sales people.. But I have seen numerous complaints about these people not honoring their refund policy.. So I'm getting ready for the worst.PLUS!! my parents ordered from them 6 weeks ago and they said allow 4-6 weeks for shipping well nothing.. more

Resolved Question: How do your feel about Facebooks customer service when it comes to being disabled and accused of wrong doing?

“The Dark Side of Facebook AKA "Disgracebook," or “Facebooks Complete Lack of Customer Service” The unaired dark side of Facebook, or should I call it "Disgracebook" because of the extremely poor disgraceful way Facebook treats its memebers. The reason I say the unaired dark side of Facebook is I have yet to see anything announced on the prime time major news outlets about the disgraceful practices Facebook uses on its members. The Internet is bursting at its seems with unhappy disabled Facebook members who have posted thousands of complaints everywhere it is possible to post complaints about Facebooks complete lack of customer service and mean spirited disregard for concerns, questions and feedback from members and former members. On Mark Zuckerber's, the founder of Facebook, Facebook Fan Page Mark states "I'm trying to make the world a more open place by helping people connect and share." I am glad Mark says he is "trying etc." because, in my opinion, he certainly has NOT accomplished his mission. Facebook is one of the most closed undemocratic uncaring unsocial business operations since the formation of the Gestapo. Facebook operates carte blanche without regard of a due process of rights for members Facebook deems unworthy to be members of its social network service and therefore, disables their account. Facebook justifies its policy and actions under the euphemism of “protecting members” from “repeated actions that could be construed as spam,” and from anything Facebook makes up as a threat to its security. Facebook is an omnipotent uncaring broadly defined automated bureaucratic security service mechanism with unpublished specific rules that are violated without knowing it. If this is not Gestapo like policy, I guess I do not know what it is because it certainly is un-American to say the least! Furthermore, in my opinion Facebook is not a social network service. When joining Facebook you are, in reality, joining a money making “computer program” complete with automated responders but is set up to look like a social network service operated by real people. Is it any wonder Facebook members are treated with total disregard for being feeling thinking real people? I have yet to know of a computer program that is able to feel and or to reason. When someone calls Facebook you are treated rudely and crassly informed to use their computerized automated services which do not reply when used or quickly transferred to an automated answering service to which there is no reply. I strongly urge anyone interested to please research what I am informing you of because I assure you the situation I have explained is the truth and nothing but the truth so help me God. Until the media and or business community and elected officals takes notice of and makes public “Disgracebooks” inhuman treatment of people Mark Zuckerberg and his staff and money making computer program will continue to fill up trenches behind Disgracebooks California headquarters with unworthy disabled members. One final comment. If Disgracebook is treating its foreign members as poorly as it treats its domestic members Disgracebook is not only giving itself a black eye it is giving the United States of America a black eye. Is there anyone out there who cares enough to tell the world about Facebooks dark side and will hopefully help Facebook to become a user friendly Internet social service it claims to be? more

Resolved Question: Unfair charge from virgin media..please help?

Recently moved out of our house and now have a tenant living there. We were with virgin media for internet and tv. British Gas and Elec had no problem continuing their supply to the property under the tenants name. However virgin refused, telling me, i had to keep it in my name which i didn't like, as the tenant is on benefits and may not always be able to pay the bills, in which case, i would end up paying on her behalf, the only other option i was given was to cancel the contract and pay and £80 cancellation fee. Needless i say i had no choice but to cancel. I Have refused to pay this cancellation fee, and virgin are now threatening to pass it on to a debt collection agency which they say will affect our credit rating. I am unhappy about this cancellation fee, as i did not wish to cancell with virgin but was left with no choice. On two seperate calls to try to explain why i felt the charge was unfair, i was given different information by 2 different people. The first person told me they would cut the bill by £17 if i paid that day and if i didn't pay within 6 days it would be passed to another agency. Two days later i spoke to a different person who told me he would cut the bill by £12 if i paid up and if i refused then, maby, yes, maby it would be passed to a debt collecting agency at the end of the month. All this information differs from what i was told by the first individual which tells me they have a fair amount of leeway! I plan to write a letter of complaint stating that i feel this situation is somewhat unfair, but also that it makes no business sense as not only have virgin unnesseseraly lost a customer, they also left me with a big fee that i cannot afford! I will also state in my letter that i will be reporting this situation to watchdog, the daily telegraph and offcom ect. What will happen if i do this and continue to refuse to pay the charge? can they add more charges, and can they take me to court? and will it really affect my credit rating if they pass it onto a debt collecting agency? How can i get a successeful outcome? more

Resolved Question: If you state statistics about unhappy customers in a refund request is that a threat?

I wrote this complaint letter after not hearing back from the owner and she said I was threatening her. This was not my intent at all. I was simply trying to get her to see that refunding my money was worth more to her than not. Here is the letter, please tell if it sounds threatening. Dear XXX I wrote an email to your salon last week about a refund on my hair and I have not heard from anyone. Although I did, like XXX as a person, he has ruined my hair. I went back in the same day to give him a chance to fix my hair but he only made it worse. I told him it was grey the minute he took the towel off and he kept telling me it is not grey and he wished there were better lighting in the salon. Attached is the photo I brought in asking for my natural color with golden blonde highlights. Also attached is the photo of what I ended up with, purple and grey hair. I had not washed my hair yet when this photo was taken but it is only getting worse just from one washing. The purple is coming out more and now it's just a dull grey. While styling my hair XXX burned me with the curling iron and I now have a huge painful scab where this happened. I have tried to be reasonable about this, allowing him to try and fix it and requesting a refund to no avail. I will have to pay someone a great deal to get this fixed and I can only hope my hair can survive this process. After crying about this for 2 days, I am now angry about this situation and my patience is gone. I cannot get this fixed until you issue a refund. Since it was a debit to my card you can simply credit my account. I cannot even go out to see my customers because I am so embarrassed about this purple and grey hair, my self confidence to present myself in public is at an all time low because I look like crap!! Statistics show that if one unhappy customer tells 10 people, which is, the average in studies, that they are unhappy about something then that information will reach 500 people. Now, with the internet those numbers can rise to thousands. I have not told anyone, except my attorney of my experience at XXXXXX and do not intend to unless we cannot settle this matter. I realize we have just gone thru a holiday and this may be why I have not heard from you. Is this much bad publicity worth $155 to you? As a business owner myself, I believe it would be in the best interest of your time and business to issue me a refund so that I will go away and be allowed to rectify this situation. I had dinner with my attorney last evening and he has informed me that I do have other recourse if you do not do the right thing and issue a refund. Please call me or issue a refund immediately. more

Voting Question: Help filing complaints against big companies?

I need help filing a complaint against my phone company. I know that there are certain outlets such as the attourney general, better business bureau, and media outlets such as get jesse, etc. But how can one consumer who was ripped off file a complaint against such a big company, in a way that will actually make they deal with the problem rather than brush it off. I was severely ripped off when signing up for internet service. I called the phone company direct, signed me up for a promotional price of $17 for the first 3 months, after that it would be 46.99. I had everything very specifically documented, and knew exactly what I was getting. Well now I get the bill and they are charging me for 2 months at 59.99, plus extra stuff. I just spent an hour on the phone arguing with them, they would not cooperate at all, they just said the price I'm being billed is what it is, I talked to a supervisor who refused to transfer me any higher. They didn't care at all that they quoted me one price and gave me another, they just said "theres nothing we can do to change it" How can I file a strong enough complaint to force them to make this right? I do plan on trying a BBB and Attourney general complaint, and perhaps trying to see if I can do the "get jesse" on the news, but what other options do I have? Also, how can I find out the contact information of people higher in the company? The customer service rep, and supervisor liked to act like they were the highest being in the company and there is nobody higher. They refused to transfer me to anyone else. I know theres some way to look up that sort of information and take my complaint straight to someone higher, but how? more

Resolved Question: I need the BEST anti-virus/internet security software... PLEASE HELP!?

I am looking for the best anti virus / internet security program. I am not interested in Norton's or any other Symantec product. After being referred to Kaspersky, I read postings in the forum section of their website and I am not sure that Kaspersky would be a good fit as our new computer runs on Vista, and they seem to have A LOT of customer complaints. The reason I ask is because I run a 2 computer small business office and last week our main computer completely crashed and we had to buy a new computer (hence why it is running on Vista). I want something that is user friendly but will ACTUALLY protect our computers. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.Price is not a factor, in fact, I'm not interested in the "free" softwares as we were running Avast when the computer crashed. more

Resolved Question: What should I do if a business charges me for a product that never arrived in the post?

Briefly, I ordered from an internet company which charged me $30 and the item never arrived in the post. I contacted them via email (their phone number goes straight to a full mailbox) and they responded, barely responding, that they couldn't be held responsible for items not delivered within the expected time frame (which, on their site, was between 3-7 days). It has been a month and I still have nothing. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but so far, I have heard nothing, and in a way, I don't expect that I will. How far can the BBB take a complaint, and what other action can I take to get my money back? Thanks. more

Resolved Question: I need to file a complaint against AT&T re: our business account?

We have a small business account with AT&T which includes our advertising and internet service. We have had trouble with our bill since AT&T took over BellSouth. THis month I have a totoal that is quadruple our normal bill with no explanation what so ever. I can find no additional charges on the bill just the normal and the total. Our internet service charge has doubled and it was supposed to be fixed for 2 years (started Oct last year) unfortunately our contract was destroyed in a fire and they refuse to fax or email me a copy. THey also refuse to let me speak to a supervisor. I need to get this fixed ASAP as we cannot afford to lose phone service and the stress from dealing with this is driving me nuts!! PLEASE someone tell me who I can file a complaint with?? I have been dealing with multiple issues with them for almost a year and they are getting progressively worse and more expensive! And no there are no other providers in our area Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Do you think theres a lot of spying going on with Google's Street View application?

And do you think its just & fair that cheaters get caught? Or do you see it as an invasion of their privacy? London, Mar 31 (ANI): A Brit man is facing divorce after his wife spotted his car parked outside another woman's house, via Google's Street View application. His wife saw the Range Rover using the Internet giant's new Street View service, while she was spying on a female friend's home. Although the hubby claimed that he was away on business, his wife easily caught him red-handed after she recognised his car because of its blinged-up hubcaps. The love cheat is not the only husband trapped by Google's controversial new 360-degree photo search, which covers 25 cities and towns throughout the country. "I was talking about the Range Rover case when another divorce lawyer came up to say his firm was dealing with the same sort of thing. People are getting caught out on Google," the Sun quoted top media lawyer Mark Stephens as saying. He added: "I suspect the husband's lawyers will claim it was an invasion of privacy that will cost him his marriage and Range Rover." Ever since Street View was launched on March 20, it has triggered a stream of complaints from people caught on camera. (ANI)Edit: Bear! Thankfully they don't have it in India...they couldn't even if they wanted to...there would be hordes of crowds following the van, waving & blocking every street view...lol! more
