The alliance aims to share information among hospitals and provide a legal framework to keep costs down by buying supplies in volume.

"Our goal in joining the alliance is to strengthen the working relationship with our neighboring providers, improve quality and explore opportunities to reduce costs," said Jeff Miller, CEO of High Point Regional. "By participating in the clinical, education and research programs that Moses Cone and Wake Forest Baptist offer, we will enhance our services to patients, our physicians and employees."

Resolved Question: Can you correct my writing assignment?

Can you correct my writing assignment? Please feel free to add or delete words. Thanks in advance! I enrolled in this class so I can improve my language business skills. Communication is the key in succeeding in any type of business. My communication skills are not the best, so that is why I am here to improve my skills. My enrollment in this particular class is also important as it is something which is a requirement for my major. I chose Business Management as my major because I enjoy learning about tourism and lodging. Basically, everything involves business. For example, marketing, human resources and so many other fields play a role in business. Business Management consists of working with different levels of co-workers. Also, a business person provides services to their consumers. In my spare time, I like to browse different internet sites based on airlines and the hotel industry. In the past, I have had the opportunity to work in the airline business. I enjoyed it so much that I want to continue in this field. In conclusion, one day I want to provide charter flights for international clients. more

Resolved Question: Why does the Chinese Government censor/block the internet?

For 6 months, an entire region of China is without internet access because the Government blocked their access and texting and international calls. One woman had to travel 250 miles on rail to get to an internet cafe to use regular email. In July, China promised they would gradually return basic internet sites. It's now January and they still say they will gradually unblock the internet, they have not done so yet. One woman had a successful small business going before the internet was blocked off completely by the Chinese Govt, now her business can't possibly continue. Even posting this yahoo question puts me at risk to ever go to China, if their Government finds I even posted a question like this, I could be stuck in a prison for questioning their authority. Why is the Chinese Government like this? Those people in the region with blocked internet were punished for a protest 6 months ago, they swear on their lives had they known this would happen, they will never again question the Government. For goodness sakes, they want their internet unblocked. more

Resolved Question: What political party do I best fit in with?

I support: -placing tariffs on products made by american companies whose total outsourced labor force exceeds 50%...I am very much opposed to labor outsourcing, I support American manufacturing. -Giving tax incentives to american and international companies to settle or resettle in the US. -socialized healthcare system for US Citizens, U.S. nations, and legal permanent and temporary residents -same-sex marriage -universal education for US citizens, U.S. nationals, and legal permanent or temporary residents -using all sources of american energy, oil, coal, natural gas, bio fuels, solar, nuclear, wind, etc, etc...I want 100% american energy. -expanding government contracts with private companies to devise new technologies and work on government projects...(ex: federal contract with verizon to expand free faster internet hotspots nationwide or with the auto-industry to build newer more efficient automobiles) -legalizing cannabis - I support partially subsidizing transportation costs for american companies to reduce the price of goods for consumers. -establishing a neutral foreign policy focusing on expanding trade and peaceful diplomacy with all countries. working to knock down old animosity. -using intelligence and covert mechanisms to attack and destroy terrorist cells. I oppose: -Abortion when the woman's life is not endangered and when there was no rape or incest. -Illegal immigration. I am extremely strict on illegal immigration and I support shortening deportation proceedings, strong border and more military/border patrol presence to fight drug cartel and human smugglers. More technology at the border. Targeting and penalizing businesses that hire illegal aliens. I also support limiting citizenship only for children born to at least one legal parent. -bailouts because they undermine capitalism and entrepreneurship. more

Resolved Question: Could DUI Laws be one of the Vehicles to take away our Constitutional Protection?

Could DUI Laws be one of the Vehicles to take away our Constitutional Protection? Politicians are planning to put the U.S. under an International Marxist New World Order dictatorship by various means. MADD claims they want to get drunk drivers off the road. Can the law prevent accidents? Are the new harsher penalties a solution? Is that the real reason for the harsher laws? What is the real motive behind the creation of new stricter DUI laws? The first thing I noticed is DUI laws do not require the arresting cop to read you your Constitutional Miranda Rights. And when no accident or problem has been caused by the driver who has been pulled over, or was forced to go through a police road block, or was stopped for some other reason, or encountered a cop who got suspicious. The suspect can be arrested for a crime that has not been committed, simply on suspicion that he might cause an accident. This is like other people being arrested for murder and given the death penalty, simply because they had a gun or a rock or anything that could be interpreted as a deadly weapon in their vehicle. For example, politicians have scared people into thinking that unless we crack down on drugs, we will have anarchy with criminals roaming the streets. So they made some laws that allow the authorities to seize the private property of any suspected drug ring or person. All they have to do is plant some drugs in a house or vehicle. Then the authorities can ignore their Constitutional Rights and confiscate the vehicles, bank accounts, and real estate of that group or person and sell it on their black market without a trial. Let's see if you think this MADDness is justice, or lynch mob rule. Arnold Swartzanager is hurting for money to balance his budget, and please his sources of money for his election (which includes MADD who want to get revenge against all drinkers for the death of a relative), so he has decided to double the penalties for a first time DUI offender from 9 months to 18 months of weekly classes at $25 each, and increase the fines from several hundred dollars, to a few thousand dollars. And also to force first time offenders to pay several hundred dollars to install a breathalyzer device (the breathalyzer companies pay for the election of these politicians who support them, a good investment in a bad economy) in the first time offender's car, so they cannot start them if they even used Listerine. They are testing it in some counties in California now. And they are considering installing cameras. And if you cannot pay for all this, they will put you in debtor's prison. More and more innocent people will be put in jail. If MADD can get the breathalyzers, then they will get the cameras. Once they create this precedent, then cameras will become standard equipment in ALL vehicles, homes, businesses, public places. Then when Big Brother decides to crack down, he can listen to your conversation and watch anyone who utters key words tracked on the Internet by satellite anywhere they are as a Political Enemy, and you will be arrested as a Terrorist Suspect. The laws are in place for this very thing. more

Resolved Question: is this real or fake? email from Ban Ki-Moon (UN Secretary-General)?

United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC) In Affiliation with Barrack Obama Campaign to Assist Scammed Individuals in the Settlement of Disputes through Liverpool cooperative Bank Plc. Attention: to you, The United Nation Compensation Commission (UNCC) that was created in 1991 as a subsidiary organ of the UN Security Council. Its mandate is to process claims and pay compensation for losses and damages suffered as a direct result of Internet Fraud and Iraq 's unlawful invasion and occupation of Kuwait . The UNCC in conjunction with the Obama Campaign on the 12th of October 2008 organized a confederation meeting which ended 2 weeks later, with the Secretary General to the UNITED NATIONS. This meeting was first held on the 8th of April 2003 by the then secretary to the UN. You can view this page for your perusal http://www.un.org/News/Press/docs/2003/ik344.doc.h This email is directed to all individuals that have been scammed in all parts of the world. In reference to the just concluded meeting, the UNCC in affiliation with Barrack Obama Campaign have agreed to compensate them with categorical payment sum of $800,000 each. In its decision 17" of 24th March 2006, the Governing Council established basic principles for the distribution of compensation payments to successful claimants. This decision was made two months before the resolution of the first installment of claims before the Commission. As stated in the Secretary-General’s report of 2nd May 2006, it was anticipated that the value of approved awards would far exceed the resources available in the Compensation Fund at any given time. The Governing Council therefore devised a mechanism for the allocation of available funds to successful claimants that gave priority to the three urgent categories of claims and which, within each category, would give equal treatment to similarly situated claims. Only when each successful claimant in categories "A", "B" and "C" had been paid an initial amount up to US$2,500 would payments commence for claims in other categories. Accordingly, the first phase of payment involved an initial payment of US$2,500 to each successful individual claimant in categories "A" and "C". However, for humanitarian reasons, all category "B" claims will be paid in full of a total USD$800,000. A total of US$3,252,337,997.09 was made available to 1,498,119 successful individual claimants in categories "A", "B" and "C" under the first phase of payments. A claimant includes every foreign contractor that may have not received their contract sum, and people that have had an unfinished transaction or international businesses that failed due to Government problems etc. We found your name in our list and that is why you are receiving this email notification. You are advised hereby to contact Sir. George Wood of Cooperative bank, as he is our representative in Liverpool who will be releasing your refund payment to you, Contact him immediately for your approved funds (USD$800,000). Resolved Question: Where should we move to?

Where would you like to live or retire in the US? The question becomes difficult to answer when family, friends and work are NOT part of the equation. Usually people relocate based on one of those three things. Most people want to live in an area with a low crime rate, great schools, a warm climate, affordable housing, plentiful jobs and good hospitals. Even so, not everyone will agree about the best place to live. Some people prefer mountains, some prefer the desert or maybe the ocean. We are still not sure where to go, even after going through the Forbes “Best Places to Live” list and other similar web sites. We are self employed and have a child with special needs. We are originally from Illinois but we have lived in Arizona for the past decade. We are looking for a change outside of these two states but we will likely travel back to Arizona in the winters if we will be living in a cold climate. Criteria We need to be within a 10 or 20 minute drive to a very good hospital. Must be within a 45 minute drive to a reputable children’s hospital. Must have excellent schools and a low crime rate. There must be fun things for kids nearby, like a big city zoo, parks and recreation. Fair weather with four seasons (or at least a little snow in the winter). Elevation must be less than 4,000 feet at all times (cannot travel above this altitude). We want to live in the country and we need a minimum of 7 acres for horses. We are looking for privacy, nice views and clean air. We like trees and green grass, not so much rocks, sand and cactus. Shouldn’t be too cold in the winter or too hot or humid in the summer. Cannot be further east than Ohio. Oregon, Washington state, Colorado, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Arkansas, Louisiana and Tennessee are all out of the question. Needs to be within a 50 minute drive to a big city with an international airport. We don’t want to spend more than $475k for a 2400 square foot house in nice shape on at least 7 acres for horses, just a little outside of town. Tax rates, short term economic growth and real estate trends do not concern us much, however we don’t want to live in an unclean area. I work at home and do not need to commute anywhere. Satellite internet and a regular telephone keep me in business. We realize that not all of the criteria can be met, so everything is listed in descending order of importance. Resolved Question: Where can I find web content pros in NYC please?

I am trying to contact web content professionals working on managing content or web projects at web sites or web agencies in NYC (not designers, programmers or technology people - content). Are you one of those? Do you know anyone I could talk to? My client (I am an independant consultant) Synomia.com is the leader of site search software in France. They now have the biggest market share in site search software in France. They product is a very advanced, very automated, and a very affordable hosted search software for large content web sites (government sites, educational institutions, large corporate sites, etc.). The goal is to profile the current needs of these professionals in the area of site search services and software. In practical terms, I will organize a meeting attended by senior Synomia management and structured like a high-level focus group on: web usability, content management, web information architecture, search usability, audience measurement on large web properties. We are not selling anything. We just want your help in understanding what professionals in the US need in the area of site search. Depending on your input, this could become a launch pad for a position with Synomia later or a partnership with your employer (agencies, web integrators, etc.). We will be in NYC in a couple of weeks. I have been a specialist of Internet software for over 15 years now (Netscape, Infoseek, Disney Internet, etc.). I have created a consulting company that helps European and US-based software publishers, resellers, and buyers partner to take advantage of unique technologies that only exist in one of these two regions. Resolved Question: Is this how it works in the USA political machine?

I am intrigued about how much federal politics within the US of A resembles the offensive line up in football. Does the following sound a reasonable comparison to you? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:American_Football_Positions.svg (1) The 'center' position is the congress. They directly run interference for the all important quarterback(federal reserve). (2) The 'guard' position is the senate. Their job is to squelch, nullify & smother any 'rush' from the defense(constituency) that breaks through the 'center'(congress) & imperils the well being of the quarterback(fed reserve). (3) The 'tackle' position is the president. The president's job is to cover the fed reserve IF both the congress(center) AND senate(guard) are mowed over by the defense's(constituency) powerful rush at the quarterback(fed reserve). (4) The 'tight end' position is the bought & paid for Major Managed News Media(MMNM). Their job is to run confusion, half truths, misinformation, blackouts & in extreme cases outright scandals against the defense(constituency). (5) The 'wide receiver' position is the federal court system. In case the defense(constituency) sees through the propaganda, smoke & mirrors of the MMNM(tight end) & over runs the congress(center), senate(guard) & the president(tackle), the fed reserve(quarterback) passes the ball to the wide receiver(fed court system). (6) The fullback position(industrial military complex) works a dual role as a block for the quarterback & a go between to the wide receiver(fed court system). (7) The halfback position(U.N.) is DIRECTLY responsible for protecting the all important quarterback(fed reserve/international bankers) at all costs! Now, let's see how a typical play is performed when the defense(constituency) mounts a Jehovian scale 'rush' to take out the quarterback(fed reserve) on the offensive team, in this case the offensive team is the bought & paid for federal government... ...HIKE! The center(congress) hikes the ball to the quarterback(fed reserve) & the play is INSTANTLY in motion! The enraged & screwed over defensive team(constituency) cuts through congress with no opposition due to te fact that congress is terrified of being voted out of office. The senate(guard) has some effect on slowing down the defense(constituency) but the senate(guard) is also frightened to death of unemployment & quickly collapses also. The president(tackle) wades in under 'executive order' but is so unpopular that he fears he will be pulled out of the game(impeachment) & goes docile. The MMNM(tight end) has had zero effect on the play due to the defensive(constituency) teams middle linebacker(internet news) position which is fast closing on the offensive teams quarterback(fed reserve). The quarterback(fed reserve) cannot pass to the wide receiver(fed court system) because the wide receiver(fed court system) is being hounded by the defense's cornerback(constituency), so the quarterback(fed reserve) fakes a dead on run while putting the ball into the halfback's(U.N.) hands. The fullback(military/industrial complex) runs with the quarterback as a fake to draw attention from their halfback(U.N.). The halfback(U.N.) runs towards the wider receiver(fed court system) then passes the ball when the wide receiver(fed court system) looks to be somewhat open. The wide receiver(fed court system) completes the pass but is taken down on the thirty five yard line' The wide receiver(fed court system) calls it a touchdown for the offensive team(fed government) as they also claim to be the referee, judge, jury, hangman plus own the playing field & stadium to boot!. The defensive team(constituency) threatens the wide receiver(fed court system) with a lawsuit. The wide receiver(fed court system) will not allow a lawsuit as it would compromise military security, break treaty law with the U.N. & besides...they have DIVINE SOVEREIGNTY!!! Civil war breaks out between the teams, spectators, stadium employees, refs, sportscasters & the whole stadium is razed to the ground & out of business. Moral of this 'little' post of mine is... "a LITTLE government is always needed in a society, growing government is NEVER a good idea & a big government will be the end of a society big time! My dad once told me, now so long ago..."There's two kinds of people in this world kid, those that learn the hard way & those that never learn at all". I laughed when he said it to me, but I ain't a laughing no more! more

Resolved Question: My online e-commerce business is based in Alberta, how do I charge PST/GST/HST?

We've an Internet consulting service business with no physical deliveries. My understanding is the following, is it correct? -Charge GST to every one of our customers within Canada, except for people from the HST provinces where we charge HST according to their rates; -No need to charge PST at all, as I can let my customers remit PST due to their province (assuming they're honest about it); -no need for international customers. If sale < $30,000, PST/HST? ### -no need for great detail. General guidelines are fine; -don't worry about the upcoming new HST rules. more

Resolved Question: Resume advice -- should I include two jobs which don't relate to my expertise?

My experience looks like this: 2003-2009 finance / credit analysis for a commercial lender 2002-2003 Sales (low level interim position, one company, 14 months) 2001-2002 Interim clerical work (one company, 13 months) 1999-2000 General manager, internet company 1995-1999 Marketing director, international trade consulting The issue is that when the dot com bubble burst, I had some personal (family) issues that forced me to move back to a small town with a limited job market and took two jobs which I did well at, but were off track from my career. Where my resume was business and management prior to 2001, if I use a chronological resume, I look like a guy that has a lack of focus, or an unclear skill set. If I use a functional format, there is a gap in my employment from 2000 to 2003 -- and I don't want an HR person to assume the worst. Any advice? Thanks for your help! more

Resolved Question: Do you also think that Google Home Biz is a scam?

So...I can't believe that I fell in this trap but I did...so just to warn others. There are more posts related to this on Yahoo answers, but a little older...so I thought I would refresh the info. There are a lot of internet money making scams out there, but these people get better and better. They advertise on what it seems like legit websites, they say they will only charge you $1 for shipping fees and they put Google in their name to make it more credible. Anyway, after one pays the $1 then you can see if you look carefully on the bottom of the page, with very small letters, that they will charge you a membership fee of ~79 monthly. They never say anything about this before you pay. Below I pasted the e-mail confirmation I got from them...and it says something about a membership fee now, but still not how much it is. People apparently got charged the amount after 7 days without even knowing why. Anyway...right after I signed up for it I called the 1-800- number listed below and they cancelled my account. But still I'm worried about my credit card...I'll have to watch it carefully! So...be careful out there...all these internet money making websites are scam! Resolved Question: this is my aim and present situation... help?

im basically frm india pursuing b.com in chennai university.. my dad has a well established business in India and i aspire to make the products fit to be exported globally........... I hav spoken to few persons and now i have two options... Do an MBA or MS in management in abroad ( uk or us) work there for 3-4 yrs and then come back to india and take over my dads business.. or Do an MBA in india and simultaneously start a new venture whilst studying.. Apply my techniques and tweak it.. get it well established.. Then after studying work for sometime and merge mine and take over my dads business... The advantage of doing mba in abroad is that we will have global exposure.. and a few say that in US which is highly affected by recession, is the perfect market place to do MBA disadvantage is u might get over exposed for current Indian market and later have to come down to understand it... next is u ll be studying the local companies over there which u might not be familiar with.. Advantage of doing here in India is v get lot of new contacts who will be big shots in the future and can be in constant touch with them to establish ur business.. and the study of a developing market is very useful as u can predict a few things.. Disadvantage is that u might get under exposed when considering long-time.. As i said earlier.. My aim is to introduce a lot of products and meet the global standards and start exporting making my dads business a global empire... my extra curicular activities are musical jingle composer, skilled in maya animation, skilled in internet marketing, skilled in MS office.. have spent 6 months in e-marketing if that could help.... Any help????????? Since i am basically physically challenged, working before a post graduation is not appropriate for me... I ve searched in the internet and stumbled upon European School of Economics which offers courses in Paris , London , New York , Florence and Rome .... I think the course MS in Management suits me cause that offers the following courses - • Modern Business Research Methods • 21st Century Advanced Business Structures • Organisations and their Cultures • Managing for Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility • Decision-making • Management of Resources and Operations • Entrepreneurialism and Leadership • Globalised Information and Communication Systems • International Project Management • International Business Management • Human Resources Management • International Strategic Marketing • Research Methods and Modelling Techniques • Internship Programme (3-months) These subj are relevant to my dream... But Wharton School Of Business also accepts students from the world with 3 yrs degree... and stanford also the same... But they ask for work experience... at the same time it can be excepted in certain circumstances.... as i said my ailment prevents me to work before further studies... This is as far as i ve collected... Pls help!!!!!!!!! more

Resolved Question: Why did my mother that adopted me get so upset when I asked her how much she paid for me?

I just want wanted to know but she get defensive about anything I ask about my biological family and adoption. When I asked her how much it cost, she got defensive and said it wasn't important but when I persisted the following week, she lashed out and said it wasn't my business. I'm really starting to wonder why she's being so secretive. I know from reading on the internet that international adoption isn't cheap. It matters because its my life and its different being adopted. I was raised to be honest. I expect the same from anyone that expects that from me. How can you trust someone without honesty. more

Resolved Question: Approx. how much does it cost to own an iphone/month?

I'm 18 years old, and my cell phone plan conveniently ends next month, which is the same month as my 19th b-day. As a result I'm trying to convince mom and dad to get me the iphone. But I'm a bit confused on the pricing....despite my hours spend searching the website for info. I'm just a college student, so I won't be needing any international data plans for business or anything. I just want to be able to have internet when I'm out with my friends, and of course, unlimited texting. I'm not too much of a huge talker, so I don't require a lot of minutes. However, I don't know if it would be cheaper for my parents to just pay for a plan for me or to get a plan for me, my sis, and my dad. The way it works now is that my dad, sis, and I are on the same T-mobile plan. We don't like T-mobile, but since my dad lives in CT, and my sis and I live in AZ, it was the only company that let family members that live in separate states be on the same plan. I don't know if AT&T does this, but would it be wiser/cheaper just to have me with an iphone, or get a fam plan with dad/sis? Thanks! more

Resolved Question: Is This A Valid Excuse Why Foreign Countries Hate Americans?

I was listening in on the radio and I heard something that was quite disturbing and also funny at the same time involving us Americans. Seems to be that the Germans have invested in U.S. death through the, "Deutsche Bank" and other financial institutions. These establishments, " manage complex funds that buy up Americans' life insurance policies and pay their premiums in return for their payouts. But angry German investors are finding that Americans aren't dying as quickly as expected - and that only the bankers are making a buck." ---- From the Free Internet Press. http://www.freeinternetpress.com/story.php?sid=22752 I don't particularly care for news outlets, or those news outlets that are funded by the, "GLUE" (General Liberals Utopian Exchequer--My creative generalization of any one random support system for left-wing appropriations). If you find this biased based on a media perspective, this information is also available as follows: http://www.spiegel.de/international/business/0,1518,646385,00.html The above however, is from a German News perspective on the failed strategy for this argument. Pretty much worded exactly as the former posted source. --Rob USMC more

Resolved Question: Copyright law and licenses, some links for my doubts?

hi there. my name is dave, and i am trying to get in to the website development business. there is me and a friend, between us we know all the code and design, but we have a few legal doubts. as this is internet we are talking about, i am looking for some information on international law, or what tends to be the law in most places. you dont need to go in to detail explaining or anything, just a couple simple links to the correct articles would be great. my doubts are: - to what extent can things be considered fair use under copyright law? text qutations, short video clips, etc... (i know a bit about DMCAs and that false ones can be contested and what not, but im looking more for what constitutes a violation of the DMCA.) - what is the difference between public domain and open source? can open source things always be used for comercial use just like public domain can, or do they tend to have different licenses for each software/product etc... (as far as using it to create something, like using GIMP to make a picture, and then sell or market said picture. - are there any not well known laws on the whole copyright thing that i should know of? (things that if i did them without knowing i could get in serious trouble) .. nothing obvious, i know the general things. thanks for any help. more

Resolved Question: Inspired by Saul Alinsky, FCC 'Diversity' Chief - Why does the FCC have a diversity "czar"?

Inspired by Saul Alinsky, FCC 'Diversity' Chief Calls for ‘Confrontational Movement’ to Give Public Broadcasting Dominant Role in Communications Wednesday, August 26, 2009 By Matt Cover Federal Communications Commission headquarters in Washington, D.C. (Photo courtesy of FCC) (CNSNews.com) – Mark Lloyd, chief diversity officer of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), called for a “confrontational movement” to combat what he claimed was control of the media by international corporations and to re-establish the regulatory power of government through robust public broadcasting and a more powerful FCC. Lloyd expressed his regulatory call to arms in his 2006 book, “Prologue to a Farce: Communications and Democracy in America” (University of Illinois Press). In the book, Lloyd also said that public broadcasting should be funded through new license fees charged to the nation’s private radio and television broadcasters, and that new regulatory fees should be used to fund eight new regional FCC offices. These offices would be responsible for monitoring political advertising and commentary, children’s educational programs, number of commercials, and content ratings of the programs. Frequently referencing one of his heroes, left-wing activist Saul Alinsky, Lloyd claims in his book that the history of American communications policy has been one of continued corporate control of every form of communication from the telegraph to the Internet. “Citizen access to popular information has been undermined by bad political decisions,” Lloyd wrote. “These decisions date back to the Jacksonian Democrats’ refusal to allow the Post Office to continue to operate the telegraph service.” Lloyd claimed that neither technology nor liberal reforms have been able to overcome the damage caused when government fails to give everyone an equal voice. Throughout history, Lloyd said, “[t]he most powerful communications tool was deliberately placed in the hands of one faction in our republic: commercial industry.” “Neither Progressive era reforms nor new communications technologies have been able to correct the problems resulting from government abdication of a responsibility to advance the equal capability of citizen discourse,” Lloyd added. “Corporate liberty has overwhelmed citizen equality,” he wrote. Government, Lloyd said in his book, is the “only” institution that can manage the communications of the public, arguing that Washington must “ensure” that everyone has an equal ability to communicate. “The American republic requires the active deliberation of a diverse citizenry, and this, I argue, can be ensured only by our government,” he says. “Put another way, providing for the equal capability of citizens to participate effectively in democratic deliberation is our collective responsibility.” FCC seal Lessons for Radicals Lloyd relies heavily on the left-wing radical Saul Alinsky in explaining his strategy. Alinsky (1909-1972) was a community organizer and activist from Chicago and the author of the book, Rules for Radicals, which opens with an acknowledgment "to the very first radical ... Lucifer." As for political tactics, Alinsky said, “The Prince was written by Machiavelli for the Haves on how to hold power. Rules for Radicals is written for the Have-Nots on how to take it away. In this book we are concerned with how to create mass organizations to seize power and give it to the people. This means revolution." With Alinsky as the political guide, Lloyd outlines nine “lessons” that people can draw on when trying to combat international businesses. 1. “Organizing people must be a priority. In order to counter effectively the power of major corporations we understood that we had to be able to demonstrate the support of hundreds of thousands of people. As Alinksy wrote: ‘Change comes from power, and power comes from organization. In order to act, people must get together.’” 2. “Understand where people stand on your issue. Once we were clear that we needed to drum up the support of people, we needed to understand what people knew about our issues. As Alinksy wrote, ‘if people feel they don’t have the power to change a bad situation, then they do not think about it.’” 3. “Connect with groups that have already organized the community. Our means of reaching local communities was through existing national organizations. We reached out to groups that had large constituencies and articulated our message by identifying how our goals fit their core interests.” 4. “The strategy must have an inside and an outside game. For media reform, this means we needed to embrace the necessity of operating both in and outside Washington [D.C.].” 5. “Don’t wait for events to unfold on their own. Pressure, pressure, pressure. If we wanted events to work in a direction that would benefit us, we knew we needed more

Resolved Question: I've moved to Zurich from the USA for my husband's job relocation. How will income made for my LLC be taxed?

My husband's job transferred him (and our family) to Zurich Switzerland for a 1 year international assignment. I have an LLC operating in Kansas, and I am the only employee. Kansas law says you can keep your business in KS as long as you have a physical mailing address and work "from" anywhere. I could work from anywhere in the world where I can be connected to the internet and a phone, so it doesn't matter where I work "from" but will I be taxed by Switzerland because I now live here, if I work from here? more
