ProEx Reports Second Quarter Results

The Company receives services including management, development, exploitation, operations, administrative, and marketing, as well as information technology systems from Progress on an expense reimbursement basis, based on the Company's monthly capital activity and production levels relative to the combined capital activity and production levels of both ProEx and Progress.

Protocol Arrangement - The Protocol Arrangement identifies methods and processes to be followed on both existing and new lands, joint facilities, marketing, seismic and surface rights. The Protocol Arrangement also outlines the practices to be followed in the event either party enters into areas outside of the identified areas of interest.

Zoo Gets Large Donation

The bulk of the donation came on behalf of the company, but L&L workers also chipped in on part of the donation.

Yuzdi Badhniwalla is consumer marketing head, Mauj Mobile

Mauj Mobile, an end-to-end digital solutions company, has appointed Yuzdi Badhniwalla as head, consumer marketing.

Manoj Dawane, CEO, People Infocom (Mauj Mobile), said, "Over the years, we have built some rewarding associations with Telcos and Brands, and now want to expand the horizons of our services across the customer base. With Yuzdi's expertise in the B2C domain, we are excited about new 'go-to-market' strategies that will go a long way in reiterating Mauj Mobile as an Industry leader."

At Mauj Mobile, Yuzdi will be responsible for customer solutions, and building relationships with channel partners. His portfolio will also include managing the product life cycle for the company's mobile gaming vertical.

SPX earnings up 48% Charlotte Business Journal

SPX Corp. reports a rise in second-quarter net income to $94.8 million, or $1.74 per diluted share. In the same period last year, the Charlotte-based company earned $63.9 million, or $1.12 per diluted share.

Revenue in the latest quarter nearly doubled to $546.5 million from $278.1 million a year ago. The increase was due primarily to the fourth-quarter acquisition of APV, which contributed $217.1 million to revenue for the quarter.

AVP makes pumps, valves, heat exchangers and homogenizers for the food, dairy, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. The British company has 3,000 employees in more than 40 countries.

SPX Corp is raising its 2008 earnings guidance to between $6.40 and $6.60 per share from its previous estimate of $6.20 to $6.40. The company earned $5.22 per diluted share in 2007. more

Walnut growers to vote on increasing crop assessment cap

Walnut growers established the California Walnut Commission in 1987 to represent growers in export marketing activities. The assessment has varied over the years. Currently, reserve funds have been used to maintain export marketing activities and establish a health research program, as well as conduct domestic promotion and public relations to inform consumers of the health benefits of California walnuts. But the marketing group says it is more difficult and expensive to conduct and publicize health research although it is still of vital importance to the industry. The health journals are demanding more �cutting edge� research, which is generally more costly, the commission says. In addition, the weak dollar means less buying power to promote walnuts in Europe, the group says. Export markets eat up 45 percent of California�s walnut production. more
