P&G's new way of thinking is transforming business
Procter & Gamble is embracing the idea of "design thinking," asking leaders to flip the way businesses traditionally frame and solve difficult problems. "Design schools emphasize abductive thinking -- imagining what could be possible," said P&G's CEO. "This new thinking approach helps us challenge assumed constraints and add to ideas, versus discouraging them." P&G has enlisted 100 internal facilitators to offer design-thinking workshops across its units, focusing on everything from new product initiatives to retail relationship building. But several years ago, it was deja vu all over again when I sat down with a Midwestern family to help them sort through a tangle of business tensions that were eroding their family relationships.
The senior family members' hard work and sacrifice had produced a multimillion-dollar business and a very comfortable lifestyle for themselves and their three children. However, their demonstration of the cause-and-effect relationship between wealth and work had flown right past two of the three siblings without making any impression.
Their oldest son, call him Charlie, was in elementary school while Dad was putting in six or seven 14-hour days every week. By the time Charlie reached adolescence, a younger brother and sister - let's call them Bob and Susan - had come along, and Dad's effort was beginning to pay off handsomely. more

I have applied for SFU as an international student for this fall intake. But my concern is about the cost of living and tuitions fees. What are the possibilities of earning the total cost and staying at SFU. I have applied for undergraduate degree(Bachelor of applied sciences) under UTP stage II program. Still awaiting the I-20. Have given IELTS couple of days back. So they told me for paying the tuition fees for first year, and once I complete my UTP stage II in a year, I can get direct admission to 2nd year regular undergraduate course. So it is equivalent to undergraduate program of 4 years then. Can anyone suggest the best way to earn entire cost of living including tuitions fees in SIMON FRASER university? And yes, I also want to know about the university rankings for Computer engineering. Is SFU good for computer engineering? And if yes, then where does it stand good? salary? placements etc?.. and if No, then in which field this university good is good at? business? arts? etc.. moreResolved Question: Why University of Illinois (champaign Urbana)? Also, How personal is their admissions process?
Okay, so I am currently a junior in high school and I am researching universities and looking into the best schools, financially and by the quality of the education. I am originally from Illinois but I have been going to high school overseas in Milan, Italy since I was a freshman. It has been a great experience but I'm not quite sure if I will fit into the U of I community because of my diverse background and experiences. Although, I would love if it were possible. My mom recieved both her graduate and undergraduate degrees from U of I (champaign urbana) so she has been pushing me to apply there. Although she has told me once or twice that it is difficult to get in, and she's not sure I am able to. Honestly it was a bit of a blow to my ego but I would like to know what my chances are, and whether the admissions process will take into account the many extracurricular and other personal activities I have dedicated myself to. Below is a taste of my personal achievements during HS: I am currently taking the International Bacchleareaute (haha that is spelled wrong fyi) or the IB. This is like AP and is an accelerated program. I am taking HL math, HL English, and HL Chemistry although I do not plan to go into a Chemistry-related major. Since my freshman year, my semester grades have included all A+s and As except for this past semester I recieved 2 Bs. Our school does not include B+s or A-s because the IB does not grade this way. I received two Bs in Chemistry and Spanish. My courses include Economics, HL Math, Business Studies, HL English, HL Chemistry, Spanish and Italian. I am interested in entering the Business field or possibly communications although I have not quite decided. To continue this already pretty long description, I am in numerous extracurriculor activities and really dedicate myself to all. I have been in student government as Publicity official for my sophmore year and junior year, plus I am running for President this spring for my senior year. I am a member of NHS (national honors society) and have planned many charity events in conjunction. I am also treasurer of Prom Comitteee, and also do MANY sports. I was basketball captain my sophmore and junior year, and volleyball captain my junior year. I also play soccer. This takes alot of my time and I really enjoy particpating in everything. I won the most outstanding english award for 10th grade and most improved in physics last year as well. I am hoping to recieve both English and Economics this year and I am currently particpating in an international marketing competition with the well known company Media-Saturn. Overall, I just want to know if U of I will take into account many of these parts of my life that I have worked so hard to incorporate. I am almost positive I have left many things out as well. I do habitat for humanities and am going to travel to Romania in May as well as I have done a personal fundraiser for St. Judes. I know U of I has a great club diversity but I also just want the best school that will help me succeed. ~Thanks* Oh and I also do MUN (Model United Nations) and go to a conference in Dublin, Ireland everyyear...... moreResolved Question: Which is the Best Work Experience to get into a Top MBA program?
'm graduating this semester with 3.36 GPA. My school is ranked around the 80s by the US News for its undergraduate business program. I double majored in Accounting and Finance. My goal is to get into a top MBA program (not necessarily HBS or Stanford, but the likes of Kellogg, Columbia, UCLA, or even Stern and USC would be just great). Now, assuming I get a high GMAT score (670+), which I would invest alot of time to attain, what kind of work experience would help me the most to get into a top MBA? I have two options, either to work for 1) a Sovereign Wealth Fund; or for 2) PwC on the financial advisory side. I intend to work there for about 2 - 3 years. Many people told me that a Sovereign Wealth Fund work experience would be prestigious, unique, and surely differentiate you from other applicants as admission committees are looking for diversity in backgrounds to bring in a different perspective in class (what are the odds that there is another international applicant having the same background in an SWF?). However, others told me that PriceWaterHouseCoopers is very prestigious and highly reputable firm in financial advisory (and big 4 in actg), and admission committees at the top schools still hold notions that working for a big consulting firm is the best you can bring to the table along with I-banking. So, which of these backgrounds would help me the most (taking into consideration my undergrad) to get into to a top MBA? What might impress an admission committee more? moreResolved Question: What University/College is right for me?

I have wanted to get into business for myself for many years, and I feel now is the time to seize the chance. I love Europe, and would like to get involved in a business on an international scale.
