World should not fear Russian oil companies-Sechin

"Russian oil companies are these same global companies," he said, adding the country's oil producers floated shares and operated abroad and were fulfilling all the terms of their international contracts.
Oil companies from Russia, the world's largest exporter after Saudi Arabia, have been seeking to expand abroad in recent years.

Importance of soft skills
What is their importance to the individual or to the company? Why does one need it? How does one acquire it? Let us explore and understand this often used but misunderstood set of skills. In every industry, a worker brings two aspects to the table - his technical skills and his soft skills. For example, a television technician knows how to mend a TV. He also has rudimentary skills on how to deal with the customer. His technical expertise stems from his technical skills. His customer interaction skills stems from his soft skills. In other words, the softer aspects of one's job requirements can be broadly classified as soft skills. Master & Internalise . more

Would you help me to correct my ENGLISH essay in the respects of grammar, the accuracy of vocabulary, coherence, logistic and so on? The topic is: With the increasing globalization in business and trade, long-distance air transportation is often used to export types of fruit and vegetables to other countries where those plants cannot grow or are out of season. Some people think it is a positive development while others consider this use of air transport unjustified. Discuss both views and give your own opinion. No less than 250 words My essay is: International trade is growing at a startling pace, and has increasingly impacted the business of agricultural products. For example, thanks to the new technology like long-distance air transportation, people living in China now can enjoy the same delicious fruits and vegetables as their American counterpart do. While in terms of whether it is appropriate to use air transport in this way, is still open for debate. Some people believe that using airplane to import farm products is justified. The fruits and vegetables from abroad can significantly enrich the local markets. In other words, new kinds of vegetables and fruit appear to arouse the curiosities of local inhabitants, which are able to stimulate people to consume healthier foods, such as these plants being rich in Vitamin C, rather than meat which can result in heart diseases. Better yet, imported foods could be more valuable than indigenous ones. Empirical evidences abound in this respect that some foreign fruits contain special nutritious substances which can contribute to curve some diseases caused by eating habits. So although the air freight may extravagant, considering it is the only way to avoid the plants deteriorating, transporting foods by air is reasonable. Some people, on the other hand, think that freighting fruit and vegetables by air to countries where those plants cannot be produced or are out of season is kind of waste and can lead to severe pollution. Admittedly, in some cases plants are imported just because their strange shapes or smells while without a serious consideration not only of the huge cost of air transport, but also of the risk of exhausting resources and air pollution. However, in view of this, the authority, should involve in balancing the potential negative impact of purchasing plants from other areas via airplane and implement special and feasible measurements to overtaking these drawbacks, rather than simply banning the importing of plants by air. In conclusion, the advantages brought by air transportation for fruits and vegetables far more likely remarkably outweigh their disadvantages, and importing plants by air freight is a positive development. moreResolved Question: help me to correct my ENGLISH essay?
Would you help me to correct my English essay in the respects of grammar, the accuracy of vocabulary, coherence, logistic and so on? The topic is: People should learn history in order to solve present problems. Do you agree or disagree? No less than 250 words My essay is: It is a general acknowledge that history is a precious present that modern generations inherit from their predecessors. However, since people are facing increasingly critical situations such as the scarcity of land as well as the explosion in population, from my own perspective, I believe that seeking solutions from historical experience is pointless. In the first place, not all historical experience is correct. Instead, due to the insufficient knowledge and unsophisticated tools, the way ancient humans struggled with some tricky problems was kind of awkward, or could even be totally wrong. In the second place, even if the knowledge of previous generations is reasonable, it may no longer be feasible in terms of contemporary society. Such as the old style of constructions or the traditional educational strategy are all unjustified and out of date for the current human lifestyle. In the third place, if people always obey and regard the historical path to understand and handle present challenges, there would be no more innovations and the progress of development would cease. Imagine that, if Columbus followed the sailing line of former pioneers, it would be impossible for him to discover the American land. Admittedly, studying historic events may take advantage to present generations in certain aspects. For instance, in view of the current financial crises, we can obtain valuable data and information by learning from previous cases. However, with the constant change of the international business atmosphere, the historical experience can be considered as a mere reference, rather than as a magic weapon for overwhelming this crisis. To sum up, as change is an inevitable fact, it is inappropriate that modern people rely on history to tackle current issues. People should spare no effort to adopt existing methods and pursue new methodology for overcoming the obstacles they encountered at this moment and in the future. moreResolved Question: User "tro" can you please respond to my Tax Question (International Partner & US Partner)?

Part 1 - Analyzing Primary Sources: (2 points each / 10 total points) Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow. The passage is an excerpt from President Bill Clinton’s State of the Union address in January 1998. . . . As we enter the twenty-first century, the global economy requires us to seek opportunity not just at home, but in all markets of the world. We must shape this global economy, not shrink from it. In the last five years, we have led the way in opening new markets, with 240 trade agreements that remove foreign barriers to products bearing the proud stamp “Made in the U.S.A.” Today, record high exports account for fully one-third of our economic growth. I want to keep them growing, because that’s the way to keep America growing and to advance a safer, more stable world. . . . I know there is opposition to more comprehensive trade agreements. I have listened carefully and I believe that the opposition is rooted in two fears: first, that our trading partners will have lower environmental and labor standards, which will give them an unfair advantage in our market and do their own people no favors, even if there’s more business; and, second, that if we have more trade, more of our workers will lose their jobs and have to start over. I think we should seek to advance worker and environmental standards around the world. I have made it abundantly clear that it should be a part of our trade agenda. But we cannot influence other countries’ decisions if we send them a message that we’re backing away from trade with them. 1. According to President Clinton, what accounted for one-third of U.S. economic growth? 2. What opposition to comprehensive trade agreements does President Clinton acknowledge? 3. What did President Clinton make “abundantly clear” should be a part of the trade agenda? 4. Why does President Clinton want to keep trade agreements going? 5. In the following quotation, what “decisions” is President Clinton referring to? “But we cannot influence other countries’ decisions if we send them a message that we’re backing away from trade with them.” Part Two – Interpreting Graphs: (2 points each / 6 points total) Use the graph below to answer the following questions: oWhat does the graph show? oWhat trend (pattern) do you see? oHow can you explain this trend? Part 3 – Writing: (15 points total) Does protectionism, particularly tariffs and quotas, help or hinder international trade? Protectionism policies are put in place to protect a nation’s domestic economy. Provide examples to help support your answer. You need to provide three examples for full credit. CBS News has learned that U.S. and Brazilian immigrant officials arrested 11 people Monday for allegedly operating a work visa scam with offices in Orlando, Fla. which generated more than $53 million from thousands of illegal immigrant victims since 2002. The U.S. Consulate called the scam one of the largest of its kind in history. Sources told CBS News that more than 4,500 victims paid between $1,000 and $15,000 for fraudulent documents which then helped them to obtain H2B temporary work visas to enter the United States. The scam operated in the United States through an Orlando-based company called Travel Work Study Overseas, officials said. The defendants then allegedly arranged for illegal immigrant victims to come to the United States by taking advantage of State Department’s temporary work visa program (the H2A and H2B program) and petitioned for more H2B visas. On their Web site, TWSO claims to offer "cultural and work exchange international programs for all who want to realize a life project," but sources tell CBS News that scam victims often found no work once they arrived in the country. Monday, Brazilian authorities issued arrest warrants for four people suspected of operating the US side of the scam: Valeria Dozzi Barbugli, Rodrigo Dozzi Calza, Runo Dozzi Barbugli and Valquiria Dozzi Batalha, all of Sau Paulo, Brazil. "We’re dealing with a case here where we’ve had people using fraud-fraudulent documents-in order to bring workers into the U.S. under temporary worker visas without ensuring that they’re actually legitimate travelers," said Thomas J White, the Consul General at U.S. Consulate General, Sao Paulo. "The visa fraud affects American workers in that it puts illegal immigrants into the U.S. economy who are eventually going to take jobs away from American workers." Earlier Monday, federal agents executed a search warrant for the Travel Work Study Overseas offices on Universal Boulevard in Orlando. Zachary Stoumbos, an attorney for TWSO refused to comment on the search. "I've been working for this company for years. We just got handed a search warrant. I need to speak with my client," he said. White told CBS News Monday's actions today in Brazil represent an important victory for the State Department. Visa fraud is "a threat to the security of the United States, and it’s a threat to legitimate small businesses who need temporary workers," White said. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/12/07/cbsnews_investigates/main5929881.shtml moreResolved Question: I'm thinking this is a scam, yes?

Any suggestions?
IF YOU GOING TO EDIT THIS FOR ME, THANK YOU. PLEASE DON'T BE CRUEL!!!! For a country to achieve great success in a particular sector, it is of great importance for said country to invest in education, either in the private sector or the public sector, thereby producing knowledge workers. Canada, including many other countries such as Japan and India have adopted this strategy and utilizing it to their own advantage, have dominated many industries; some of which being Gaming, Robotics, and Pharmaceuticals. It was only a few decades ago, when the gaming industry was first born. It was the birth of Nintendo, Sega, Dreamcaste, etc. Today the gaming industry has escalated into one of the biggest and wealthiest markets in the world. “According to IDC(International Data Coporation), gaming was a 26.6 billion dollar worldwide industry in 2006 and it is only prospering.” This industry is now making more than Hollywood annually, which was never seen possible. Countries like Canada specifically, have looked at this industry and saw it as a big asset, and so invested in it. Canada has taken advantage of this opportunity and now has become the leader in Gaming. How? Canada didn’t just buy Gaming companies from other countries and such, they went for a more logical and more beneficial route in the long run, and they invested in education, producing knowledge workers, who in the long run established their own gaming operations, which have become a global brand, such as Montreal’s UBISOFT. The Canadian government have invested millions into gaming industries and education and in return receive 1000’s of jobs. “The government of Ontario…managed to lure Ubisoft with an investment of C$263 million ($227 million US) over 10 years to help set up the publisher's new digs. For its part, Ubisoft will be spending more than half a billion dollars in the new development studio, which will create over 800 jobs.” Ubisoft, a known global gaming brand, is looking to expand, “unveiling an ambitious six-year, $451-million expansion to its operations. The plan will see Ubisoft's ranks in Quebec swell from 1,600 employees to 3,000 by the end of 2013, with 500 of those new jobs earmarked for a recently created in-house animation studio.” Not only are they expanding operations they are looking to produce movies, "We're going to take the next few years to learn how to make movies," said Ubisoft Montreal communications director Cedric Orvoine. The step taken by Canadian Gaming companies to become a global leader has helped the economy significantly, in the sense that it provides lots of jobs, and brings in lots of revenue and in these rough times Canadian businesses need to step up, and do their part to help end the recession in Canada. “The Canadian gaming industry generates $14 billion in revenues a year and directly supports more than 50,000 jobs in Canada.” Not many Canadians are aware that the gaming industry gives back to the Canadian community, but in a PMG poll it is highlighted that the Canadian gaming industry actually contributes $7 billion to governments and charities and invests about $75 million annually on responsible gaming research and treatment. These polls themselves justify how important these industries are to the Canadian economy and to Canada. We can all honestly say that Canadian gaming industries ultimately give back more than how much we invest into them. Today, we live in a new age, a society where technology is much more advanced than it has ever been. We no longer break are backs doing tasks that require hard labour; instead we have robots that perform tasks efficiently and conveniently. Robotics, what is it? Robotics is the engineering science and technology of robots, and their design, manufacture, application, and structural disposition. It has only been about a century since Henry Ford proposed and used the idea of an assembly line, where robots were used to build cars faster and better. From their, we have come to an age where we can produce robots that can walk, talk, and follow commands. “There are robots serving as receptionists, vacuuming office corridors, spoon-feeding the elderly. They serve tea, greet company guests and chatter away at public technology displays.” We have come here with the help of the Japanese, who have invested billions of dollars in the education of knowledge workers and have funded many robotic projects, “In the past several years, the government has funded a plethora of robotics-related efforts, including some $42 million for the first phase of a humanoid robotics project, and $10 million a year between 2006 and 2010 to develop key robot technologies.” It is evident that Japan is the most dominating country in robotics, which is due their commitment and dedication to this field. Some ask why Japan takes that much of a risk, investing billions in this field, and in order to answer that question you must look at the statistics; According to Hiroko Tabuchi of the associated moreResolved Question: McGill vs Concordia for international job opportunities?
I am currently a business student at Concordia University in Montreal. I'm considering transferring to the McGill business program, but I'm reading from several sources that the business program at Concordia is better. Oversees job prospects, especially in Japan are my first priority... would having a degree from McGill give me an advantage over Concordia? Any advice, especially from alumni from either university who have experience getting employment outside North America would be greatly appreciated. moreResolved Question: What are the advantages and disadvantages of starbucks' choices regarding international business activity?

Ok I really hate my life. First of all, there are many people that will answer here, and even say it's a good thing because of my views. Anyway, I am in my late 20s and I am finishing my masters degree in international relations in May. I also have a bachelors business degree too. I have good grades. I am however unable to get a job and this is part of the reason why I think I can't go on. Each time I apply, I get vague reasons for the rejection. Also, hot girls don't like me, but I wish they did. Not having the job maybe related. And no, I don't want to "lower my standards' or "downgrade" to fat, chubby, or dwarf women. So don't give that answer. Quick death is a better option. Physically I am 5 ft 7 and 145lbs. I am not fat, but with a tiny stomach. . I sadly though have hair on my chest and stomach and it seems hot girls dislike that based on all answers on yahoo. My car is eight years old, but it runs well and is in good shape. But I think hot girls don't like guys with older cars. But again no money. Ok I am a nice guy too, but not the pussy type that anyone can walk over because I have beaten up people before that tried to take advantage of me. And I can't afford to move from the U.S. to Europe because I don't have much money and most of all no job. So that suggestion can't work, even though friends I know like me, are having a great time. . I feel my life is nearing its end and I won't ever get a chance to enjoy(sleeping with many hot girls) life.. And don't tell me to see prostitutes. That relief is temporary.Becky: OMG I said I don't want to downgrade. I want ONLY hot girls. I don't want a life with fat or guy. women just cause they are life. This makes me feel WORSE.Arby: Perhaps I don't want to hear from a fat woman like yourself that adds no input. But, sry about your mother.Becky: OMG I said I don't want to downgrade. I want ONLY hot girls. I don't want a life with fat or uglu women just cause they are nice. I myself have had a couple bad experiences with bank of america, though i am still with boa (after the bad experiences i learned how to work around it), my brother, going through his second time being overdraft for 210 dollars because without knowing what his saving account was all about ( the associate who persuaded him, a 14 year old international student), he didnt know he transferred the money from checking to saving, the money was enough that there is no way he would get overdraft. the problem all started with he didnt know by transferring him money from checking to saving you need over 24 hours of wait till you can actually assume the money from saving would go straight to checking when you use the card, he was not informed. it went overdraft without notice, however when he called an associate to try to resolve this ridiculous problem, the associate was only able to refund 70 dollars out of 210 dollars, and was also UNABLE to transfer him to a higher executive, therefore the "case" was reported as resolved and no one else can do any further chan ges about it or even "touch" that account or transaction. its been very frustrating dealing with boa, when it happened to me i thought it was my problem, but yet i heard from many people bad things about boa, and now helping my brother to get money back, money that was clearly his and got taken away for no good reason, im not sure what else i can do at this point, its more than just about money now, its also about justice, businesses take advantages of students all the time, please i need help thank u moreVoting Question: I have received a job offer in UK from Qatar Airways?

I hav spoken to few persons and now i have two options... Do an MBA or MS in management in abroad ( uk or us) work there for 3-4 yrs and then come back to india and take over my dads business.. or Do an MBA in india and simultaneously start a new venture whilst studying.. Apply my techniques and tweak it.. get it well established.. Then after studying work for sometime and merge mine and take over my dads business... The advantage of doing mba in abroad is that we will have global exposure.. and a few say that in US which is highly affected by recession, is the perfect market place to do MBA disadvantage is u might get over exposed for current Indian market and later have to come down to understand it... next is u ll be studying the local companies over there which u might not be familiar with.. Advantage of doing here in India is v get lot of new contacts who will be big shots in the future and can be in constant touch with them to establish ur business.. and the study of a developing market is very useful as u can predict a few things.. Disadvantage is that u might get under exposed when considering long-time.. As i said earlier.. Hi, I have an idea that I would like to pitch to a company. I've got some partners in this idea and we've all agreed that I own the actual IP (between us) and that I should get majority share of any earnings (of course this will change depending on the workload, etc). We've all signed a Confidentiality Agreement, so I'm covered in case someone tries to tell others about the idea. The next step is for us to approach a company that this innovation relates to. We want to obviously discuss the idea, the advantages, etc but I want to make sure I'm covered. The potential here is that this company becomes a business partner, and either helps/funds the creation of the idea, or completely buy the idea off of us. I am going to ask them to sign a Confidentiality Agreement, but how can I make sure they don't tell me that they don't want my idea, then develop it themselves? The idea is basically a different way (more efficient, accurate, etc) way of doing something. The idea will relate to Australia first, with a potential of going international. Also timing is of the essence here, I can't wait 12 months for paperwork, etc to be submitted. We're looking at 3-4 weeks at most. moreVoting Question: what are the advantages of trade?

I am an Asian culture fanatic to a certain extent(From Japan to India), but I'm becoming increasingly annoyed about the attention China receives from the popular imagination. I can't deny that China is a rising power, has a glorious history/people, and has an ever increasing role in international affairs and Business. Having said all that, I will also state that China has taken advantage of this newly spurred interest from the international community, and acts as a sort of "Asian Disneyland" to the global audience. I find this attitude to be a little cliche' and the whole issue extremely overrated. Like I said, I have a deep fascination with the region and all it's cultures, but I find the (as I like to call it) "China Wave" to be a little overrated. "YOU ARE NOT TO ACCEPT A BRIBE, FOR THE BRIBE BLINDS CLEAR-SIGHTED MEN AND CAN DISTORT THE WORDS OF RIGHTEOUS MEN."—Exodus 23:8. THREE thousand five hundred years ago, the Law of Moses condemned bribery. Over the centuries since then, anticorruption laws have proliferated. Nevertheless, legislation has not succeeded in curbing corruption. Millions of bribes change hands every day, and billions of people suffer the consequences. Corruption has grown so widespread and sophisticated that it threatens to undermine the very fabric of society. In some countries almost nothing gets done unless a palm is greased. A bribe to the right person will enable one to pass an exam, get a driver's license, land a contract, or win a lawsuit. "Corruption is like a heavy pollution that weighs on people's spirits," laments Arnaud Montebourg, a Paris lawyer. Bribery runs especially rampant in the world of commerce. Some companies allocate a third of all their profits just to pay off corrupt government bureaucrats. According to the British magazine The Economist, as much as 10 percent of the $25 billion spent every year in international arms trade serves to bribe potential customers. As the scale of this corruption has increased, the consequences have become catastrophic. During the last decade, "crony" capitalism—corrupt business practices that favor the privileged few who have good connections—is said to have ruined the economies of entire countries. Inevitably, the ones who suffer most from corruption and the economic devastation it spawns are the poor—the ones who are rarely in a position to bribe anyone. As The Economist succinctly put it, "corruption is but one form of oppression." Can this type of oppression be overcome, or is corruption inescapable? To answer that question, we must first identify some of the fundamental causes of corruption. What Are the Causes of Corruption? Why do people choose to be corrupt rather than honest? For some, being corrupt may be the easiest way—or indeed the only way—to get what they want. At times, a bribe may provide a convenient means of avoiding punishment. Many who observe that politicians, policemen, and judges seem to ignore corruption or even practice it themselves merely follow their example. As corruption snowballs, it becomes more acceptable until it is finally a way of life. People with pitifully low wages come to feel that they have no option. They have to demand bribes if they want to make a decent living. And when those who extort bribes or pay them to gain an unfair advantage go unpunished, few are prepared to swim against the tide. "Because sentence against a bad work has not been executed speedily, that is why the heart of the sons of men has become fully set in them to do bad," observed King Solomon.—Ecclesiastes 8:11. Two powerful forces keep stoking the fires of corruption: selfishness and greed. Because of selfishness, corrupt people turn a blind eye to the suffering that their corruption inflicts on others, and they justify bribery simply because they benefit from it. The more material benefits they amass, the greedier those practicers of corruption become. "A mere lover of silver will not be satisfied with silver," observed Solomon, "neither any lover of wealth with income." (Ecclesiastes 5:10) Granted, greed may be good for making money, but it invariably winks at corruption and illegality. Another factor that should not be overlooked is the role of the invisible ruler of this world, whom the Bible identifies as Satan the Devil. (1 John 5:19; Revelation 12:9) Satan actively promotes corruption. The biggest bribe on record was the one Satan offered to Christ. 'I will give you all the kingdoms of the world if you fall down and do an act of worship to me.'—Matthew 4:8, 9. Jesus, however, was incorruptible, and he taught his followers to behave in a similar way. Could Christ's teachings be an effective tool for fighting corruption today? I've been accepted to all three and money is not an issue. I don't know exactly what I want to study but it will most likely be International Business or archeology. All three schools have their advantages. NYU has one of the top then business schools, Chicago Univ. is ranked one of the top Colleges in the U.S as well as Dartmouth. I'm having a hard time deciding so I'm hoping someone would help. moreResolved Question: Should I Join the Military?
I'm aware, It's not all Fun & Games. but, don't think I'm just some kid fantasizing, I'm only 17, going on 18. I've done a lot of research on CIA, SF, SWAT, International Security, a bunch of stuff that would lead on from the Military. Here's a short brief. We was always broke, never had any enjoyment out of life, It sucked, honestly, Can't afford anything, Kind of like a lower-middle class family, We have businesses but they don't work out to well.. Recently I've found a show called Burn Notice, I notice that it's very accurate, from what all of the research I've done on it, Yeah, Burn Notice's Michael Westen is really a glamorus spy, and Spys and so are nothing like that. But it's not the lifestyle I mainly want, It's the Brain they actually make him have, He speaks many different languages, which I know most spies do, Lip reading, Farsi, Japanese, and whatever else, I'd like to become a spy, But it's not always what you want joining the military. So i've learned. But anyways, Here's the questions.. What are the risks of Joining the military life-wise? If I apply now, would I be immidietly sent to war on IRAQ looking for Bin Laden and so on? I'd like to train in being a PI, such as CIA or so. Just taking advantages of having a brain, you know? Being fluent in other languages, taking Nuclear Engineering up, investing time into gadgets, I know this sounds stupid of all what I'm saying.. but it's not really easy to explain it. Just mainly having an Open Mind. I understand that there is little to NO contact to families, being deployed wherever, but how do you get treated in the Military? I'm sure if it's rough, It's because they're suppose to be, and it's mainly a test to see how dedicated someone really is. But to be honest I wouldn't like to spend my entire life being IN military, I'd like to take it to other levels of government work and so on, Money-wise I don't care really about. It's about where it would lead to. So.. umm, I guess I covered it. I'm probably gonna regret asking this question with all of my stupid fantasies, but whatever. Hopefully someone will take this seriously. moreResolved Question: I want to learn Spanish and Japanese at the same time?

Hi is someone there who knows BT's international calling plan? (landline contract). Basically i sign for this contract, and i m using it regularly. the problem is, i ve recently received a letter from BT regarding this, they accused me to use it too much (not only for my personal purpose, but also for business and other stuff) and in this letter they wanted me to use it for no more than 10hours a month... 1st of all i m calling my familly a lot abroad (europe and us) so i find rude that someone who for sure ain t got a clue about the people i m calling tell me that i m using my phone for business purpose. secondly, BT stated in that letter that if i m not stopping calling for less than 10hours a month they will cancel this contract without my approval. this is where i gone mad..do they think that they can only take advantage of people ? who the hell on the earth got the right to tell me how many hours i m supposed to call everymonth when i sign an unlimited international call and paying my bills every month on time? is there any law to protect customer on these circumstances? so i would like advice from people to tell me where i should go and complain and i should do. This situation is unfair and rude from BT moreResolved Question: What does a degree in GWS Get You? From the University Of Georgia Website Is this True?

Employment Skills You Gain With a Liberal Arts Education Women's studies provides you with all the benefits of a liberal arts degree. Liberal arts education emphasizes critical thinking, which can be applied to a multitude of careers. It demonstrates to a potential employer that you have the confidence, skills, and maturity to earn a college degree; that you are well-rounded, having studied a wide variety of topics rather than one narrow skill area; that you likely are able to think more globally than many other job applicants. Managers often prefer liberal arts majors because they think they are better at organizing material, writing well, and making oral presentations. Moreover, a Women's Studies major equips you with significant additional advantages... B. Additional Employment Skills You Gain With a WS Degree Larissa Semenuk, a Women's Studies graduate, explains: "The major prepares one to do anything any other liberal arts major does but with deeper insight into issues of oppression and celebration of women. Hopefully, this insight carries over into important issues of other groups -- making one more sensitive and therefore more prepared to do all things/jobs with greater attention to ethical standards. A Women's Studies major is taught to look for the hidden -- like looking for the silenced voices of women in history. It's invaluable!" (Luebke and Reilly 19). There are many practical applications for Women's Studies training on the job. For example, as more women work, business and corporations find the need for more sensitivity to women's issues such as sexual harassment, flex-time, parental leave, pay equity, and equal employment opportunities. The development of women's agencies and organizations is spurring demand for graduates with specializations in Women's Studies. There is growing demand in the professions of law, medicine, social work, teaching, counseling, and government service for expertise on gender issues. Similarly, women's studies specialists are increasingly being used as consultants in industry, higher education, insurance companies, and personnel firms. Perhaps most importantly, many Women's Studies graduates say that their education gave them the confidence to pursue careers traditionally held by men. C.
