Refocusing Projects onto Business Value, Part 4: Redefining 'Success'

There are three valid measures of success — project, governance and business — and their all interrelated and equally valid.

Project success can include the successful implementation of a solution, governance success can include realization of the business outcomes, and business success can include a smooth transition and staff satisfaction with the outcomes.

All of these measures must be known, acknowledged, and focused on. Only achievement of all three sets of success measures constitutes full "success" and value.

Conventional approaches to project delivery don't identify these three sets of measures, so value delivery management requires organizations to implement or upgrade their 'Project Success Definition and Measurement' processes in such a way as to identify, plan, and deliver all three sets of success measures. more

AHAA Names PPM Advisory Board

The Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies has created an advisory council to explore the issues and opportunities surrounding Arbitron's Portable People Meter. Univision, Entravision, Spanish Broadcasting System, Arbitron, ABC Radio Networks, and several agencies make up the council.

Members of the council were named earlier this week at the Radio Ink Hispanic Radio Conference. The council plans to hold a meeting soon to identify problem areas around the PPM. "Without reform, PPM implementation could have serious consequences for the Hispanic advertising and media industry," says the chair of the council, Isabella Sanchez, vp/managing director of Tapestry (via Radio Ink).

The PPM has come under fire in recent months, with critics saying its sample sizes are too small and therefore return skewed figures. more

I manage a small dance-wear retail store, and we've been trying to figure out how to create an online store to supplement our regular sales. We have a website that is maintained by another company that I do not have access to editing or maintaining. I do have the ability to maintain a website, however, and I would specifically prefer to have the ability to maintain our online store for inventory and customer service purposes. Have you ever created an online store for your own business? Do you have experience working with any software, programs or hosting sites that create good online stores that you can recommend? We use Quick Books Point of Sale software, and I'm curious to know if there's any way to integrate that inventory system with the inventory system of our online store. Do you have any knowledge of Quick Books having an online store software system? Do you have any good or bad experiences with it? We have a business paypal account from a brief period of trying to sell items on eBay, which we gave up on for several reasons. Our financial resources are fairly limited, and my time is extremely valuable and limited as well, so slightly lower-cost options that would ideally take less than a month of set-up time would be ideal. Resolved Question: im having some problems with my computer, can some1 help me?

after i bought my computer from circuit city, they decide that there going to declare bankruptcy. i had bought 2 computers from them, one of the computers ended up getting its screen cracked and in a result to that i had to bring it back to circuit city and they would replace it for me. well long story short it never got replaced cuz they said that the cost of the repair exceeded the amount of the warranty so i ended up losing about $500 and only received a check for the retail price of the computer. now im starting to have some problems with the other computer, it caught a virus called a trojan downloader/trojan agent/trojan fake/ which is a fake anti software that downloads it self to the computer and is unrecognizable by your own anti software and is very hard to find on the computer especailly if there are more then 1 account. well i had to download malwarebytes antisoftware to help with this problem but the problem is so bad that even after detecting the virus and saying that it would finishing deletion apon restarting, but it never does. now my computer is of coarse getting alot slower and i have seen that blue screen a couple of times, along with a couple of other problems here n there. i wanted to know what should i do about getting it fixed sense circuit city is now going out of business, or is there something that i could maybe do to fix the problem and delet this virus thats hiding on my computer. any info is helpful. if you know where i could maybe bring the computer sense there is no more circuit city, or maybe you might know of a software, web link or anything to help me. another thing is that im short on cash so if anyone might know of a free program that will truely help me in deleting this virus of maybe something cheap that i could afford, it would be great. please again any info is helpful but not stupid answers.and i just noticed its mostly located in my guest account more
