UN chief sees devastated Myanmar delta

The settlement is somewhat of a showpiece. Visits by senior junta members and representatives of foreign embassies and aid organizations last week were publicized in the state-controlled media.

The victims had standard-issue cooking pots and blankets. The equipment looked new.

The camp's medical tent contained a number of supplies that, as one of Ban's aides noted, included some material from UNICEF, Turkey and another country — evidence that some foreign aid was reaching victims as intended.

Foreign relief agencies say many parts of the delta — and even some areas close to Yangon, the country's biggest city — have not received sufficient relief supplies.

The Irrawaddy delta, the country's rice bowl, is where most of the 78,000 deaths from the cyclone occurred. more

Jefferson's offense 'Bullish'

Stevens has also been impressed by the play of Regalia, who will switch between outfield and designated hitter roles, and newcomers Bryan Milburn and Holden Carroll. With the success of Jefferson High School baseball, the Bulls usually get a late start on the season because of the Cougars playing in the state tournament. That's not the case this year, and Stevens has all of his Jefferson players ready to go for the Legion season. Stevens is hoping that helps the Bulls return to the state tournament and make another strong run like last season. “We're going to be disappointed if we don't go far into states," Stevens said. “Last year, we won two games, and we're hoping we can do better this season. more

After almost 20 years, however, the major improvements long promised still have not been realized. Congress is unhappy with the rate of change and believes that establishing a full-time senior executive post accountable for results is the only way to achieve results. more

Hi, so I'm currently attending Heald College (FOR MY A.A no A.A.S) and I was planning to attend Devry for my B.S and Masters (I'm a dual Business/Software Technology Major so I'm planing to get a b.s in Tech with minor in business systems) but i keep hearing that employers don't consider those accredited degrees, so I'm going to finish Heald but should I go to a State UC? or does it not matter when someone is getting hired? I have also heard from students that it's what you put into it, I have been a 3.7 average GPA and I have also attended a JRC but the classes were bigger and less focused so it's why I switched to Heald, but I do not want to make a mistake that might cost me a career!! The task that I have been set by my teacher requires me to find out what technology is needed to run a successful business. The business is an airline company called "MillionAir". THIS IS JUST INFORMATION ABOUT THE COMPANY WHICH YOU CAN IGNORE: The company’s logo is very outdated and looks old fashion. There is no identity for the company which often results in not being widely recognised by the general public. A new updated logo is needed for ‘MillionAir’. The only information on previous and existing customers is a paper based system of filing cabinets with name and addresses of customers who have used the company to fly to certain locations around the world. Some of the old customer records are kept in a paper diary or even scribbled down on loose paper which is then placed on to a notice board. This is left for all to see resulting in lack of customer confidentiality. The only advertising material the hotel has is an A5 booklet printed on white paper folded in half to create a booklet. It is badly photocopied and when it is sent out to the customers, often it can’t be read properly. “MillionAir” has been operating for 5 years. The company has 2 owners, 2 receptionists, 4 pilots, and the airline owns 2 jet planes. There is also an air crew which has 2 stewards and 2 stewardesses. A cleaning and an airport crew including lost baggage, tower person, mentoring flights, customer services, which in total are 4 people. The total numbers of people that work for this airline are 16 people.
