DRAW MORE YOUNG - 2

"During a visit to Australia, I was taken to an outlet selling batik attire. I noticed that the clothes were highly priced. It was the popular brand that made them expensive. We do have good brands here too. "We see that popular foreign brands are convinced of the potential of batik. As such, we should make use of this opportunity as best we can," he said. The prime minister, who declared himself "promoter of national handicraft", said the industry was growing with more entrepreneurs coming into the picture over the last three years. "Now I am informed that we have about 5,300 entrepreneurs compared to 3,400 in 2004. This shows that the industry can offer a good income to those who engage in it," he said. Burleson manufactures fourth straight win

BURLESON The Mansfield Lady Tigers wear ribbons in their hair to match their opponents school colors. Friday, the team had red ribbons for Burleson.

The Lady Elks, who lost to Mansfield on Feb. 29 in District 4-5A play, sought out a little revenge and matched Mansfields tactic by wearing white and gold ribbons for the Lady Tigers school colors. Just a little mind trick, Burlesons Kari Fry said.

It just might have worked, as the Lady Elks broke open a close game and held off a late Mansfield rally for a 6-3 win at home.

Burleson (17-7) improves to second place in district with a 8-2 record, and a four-game win streak. Mansfield (10-10, 6-3) has lost two straight and drops to third place.

The Lady Elks were particularly effective at bunting and hitting to move runners, something coach Regina Bankston said Burleson has struggled with. more

Resolved Question: Why would anyone want to live in China?

Well... >Salaries for expats are usually $50K USD per year starting. >Benefits usually include $3 to $5K housing allowance, driver, high-end insurance, relocation services, a maid (live-in if you want), full tuition cover for kids at international schools, 4+ weeks vacation time, 2+ return flights paid for (usually business class), et... >Life in China is not boring. You meet people from all over, have great shopping options, great nightlife (in the big cities), people are generally thinner and better looking, there's no punk kids with their pants hanging under their asses, taxi's cost nothing, etc... >China doesn't a law against everything like the west. There's nobody to tell you what you can and can't do, if you're at the park and you want a beer, you have one. If you're at a restaurant and you want a smoke, have one. You don't have to constantly show your identification to everyone, there's ridiculous helmet laws, etc... >People are very relaxed. There's almost no violent crime in China. There's few if any mentally disturbed youths drunk off their face threatening people (there are some young western guys though). Many have asked why China. I ask why not?Eugene: Thanks for the link, those are some good pics.ʀ ƹ y ɳ ɑ: You are correct. Speaking against officials is bad. My counter-argument is, in the west no one does it anyway, what's the difference? Yes, the internet is censored to an extent. Overcrowded is a point of view. News is controlled by the government in every country whether people are aware of it or not. The countries that believe it the least are the most controlled. But anyway, thanks for the input. more

Resolved Question: Sent the CEO of at&t a letter you think itll get anywhere?

I was a loyal AT&T customer for more than 2 years, everything was fine until I relocated. I have no service at my new residence and I have been going through this for the past 2-3 months. I just wanted everything to me smooth and to be over with but AT&T’s customer service is horrible. I have been told numerous times that this issue has been resolved, and then I get a phone call back stating otherwise. I was told my early termination fees would be waved if I proved by faxing a document that showed my address. I have faxed a landline cable bill numerous times. I have been transferred to the relocation's department, speaking with a lady named Princess Mitchell. She was the first understanding representative, unlike the representatives prior to that who I have spoken with. This is when I faxed the cable bill showing my new address the first time. I had spoke to her sometime in October and she had told me that I would receive a phone call back from her the following Thursday. That Thursday had passed and I had not received one phone call from anyone. An update would have been amazing, but because of the lack customer service I had not received one. So I called back for a follow up and was told the waive was not approved because the billing address did not match up to the paper I faxed. Which at that time the old address was still on my account and I changed the address on the account. I had to re-fax my information for the second time, and was promised another follow-up call in five days. Five days had gone by and again no phone call. I called back and this time I was told that on the map it showed that I have coverage. I’m quite sure if I had coverage, I wouldn’t be calling with complaints. So I told them and had to fax the bill over again because someone from the executive response team had called me. Then I was told when they received the fax, that my address did not exist, furthermore that if I did not pay the bill that it would be sent to a collection agency. And what aggravated me was before all this happened, Rasheema (another one of your professional representatives) told me that it would be taken care of. I then received a phone call back from her three weeks later telling me the early termination fees were not going to be waived. Prior to this, I was informed that as long as I was able to prove my residence, there would be no conflict with waiving the early termination fees. So I’m curious as to what kind of scam this is, because I’m not paying a $650+ cell phone bill. Just to inform you, I also made numerous complaints with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the Better Business Bureau (BBB); regarding this issue. I thank you in advance for taking the time to read my letter. You can respond to this email. Or you can reach me at ********* more

Resolved Question: What do you think it felt like living in america as an japenese-american during world war two in 1942??!!?

JAPANESE- AMERICANS The third group of Americans greatly affected by World War II were Japanese-Americans, but not in the same way as women and African Americans. Distrust of anyone of Asian descent after the bombing of Pearl Harbor led the American government to take drastic measures. Many who had a Japanese ancestry were forced to move to "relocation camps" spread across the United States This was done under the pretext that by relocating these people the US would avoid any chance of them committing espionage but also that it would prevent a vengeful American people from attacking the local Japanese-Americans. People who were well established in their communities and had lived and worked there for years were forced to take very few personal belongings and move to these camps for the duration of the war. Those who had lived in the West of the country, especially California and the Northwest were hardest hit. They lost businesses and homes as they were forced to move away. The Japanese-American population in Hawaii, about 150,000 out of 400,000 Hawaiians was not interned, the cost to the American government being deemed too exorbitant. Not all Japanese-Americans were forced to the camps, however. One famous unit, the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, was composed entirely of Japanese-Americans and became the most decorated unit of the war. Voting Question: Can having a Masters degree in HR and no experience get you in the door?

I'm 28 and I have a BS in Sociology. To date, I've worked in the areas of administrative support, customer and administrative service, team building and client advocacy. I'm not entry level but I only have been out of school for about 3.5 years with no more than a year of experience on one job. However, I realized that my interests are in the field of HR and my long-term goal is to become a Human Resources Generalist over the next 3-5 years.I see Human Resources as the "sociology" of a business and I love interacting with people, training, building relationships and strategizing.I see Human Resources professionals as the "strategic partner" of any business or organization. However, i've been told that it's a hard field to get into especially if ur a minority candidate like myself.I have friends with Bachelor's in HR and are not working in their field. My goal is to secure a position as a Human Resource Assistant while I get my Masters in HR.I don't mind starting at the bottom but I haven't had a break yet applying online.I've been told my resume is good and that my cover letter's are strong and I tailor every one job specific but so far no luck.Going back to school is something I wanted to day anyway and it will only take me 15 month's and $13K to recieve my Masters. Is this a wise move or should I just keep trying to get in HR and let them pay for my education? I feel the walls are closing in because I'm finacially strapped for cash and my goverment contract job ends in May.Can anyone give me some guidance? I'm just looking for a job that pays around 33-35K.I live in Atlanta but i'm open to relocation especially Chicago.I have no record, I don't do drugs, I have excellent references even from Mayor Shirley Franklin. I'm professional in my demeanor and appearance and I know how to delegate responsibility as well as listen to others. My minor was Print Journalism so my writing and technical skills are strong and I'm ready for a challenge and a rewarding career.Thank you. p.s. my email address is qemcbrideiv@yahoo.com more

Resolved Question: What does it take to get out of this rut going on two years? Bankrupt at 25. No degree. No job prospects.?

A few years ago, when I was 20, I dropped out of college, formed my own business and got heavily involved with a woman I was deeply in love with. Long story short, things were great. What I was doing was profitable, I had no one to answer to and felt respected and loved by my girlfriend, friends and family. Fast forward. I lost big on a shipment from my largest supplier, big time, crippling my cash flow and pushing me into insurmountable debt. I quit lifting weights, started drinking heavily and gambling, knowing that no matter my efforts I was headed for economic catastrophe. I don't say this as an exaggeration. Unless I could get a job paying $5,000 monthly with no prior work experience longer than six months and a failed business behind me, I was ruined. Then my girlfriend end up leaving me. I had quit lifting as the result of working constantly and no longer had any money as the result of a truckload of merchandise which I had bought that turned out to cost me 10x more than I paid for it just to scrap it. She hated the drinking and the gambling. I found myself in an ever worsening state of drinking gallons of vodka a day and gambling away what little money I did and didn't have as my only escapes from the life I couldn't deal with. I lost everything I had, my car, my woman, my prior physical fitness and my self esteem. I was forced to file bankruptcy. It took me almost a year to raise the $1,000 to do so. I sought medical and psychological treatment. It helped. I no longer want to die and can function somewhat. I slowly started my business back up, making a few hundred dollars a month and eventually found a cheap car. The problem is this. I feel utterly hopeless. I've gotten my drinking under control and completely quit gambling. I lost some of the weight I put on over the past few years. But. I don't have any friends anymore. I haven't been able to get a date for two years and after a one night stand a few months ago, I've decided to quit trying. My family does nothing but consider me a failure. My friends are gone. I alienated what few of them were because of the woman I thought I would be with for a very long time, who mattered more to me than life itself. I feel like shit constantly despite the medication. I tried getting back into the gym. I have lost the drive I once had. My days are filled with nothingness. No one will hire me. I don't mean McDonald's. I can't work in customer service, the only occupation available me in this area because I can't deal with the general public. My psychiatrist calls it social phobia. And that's despite the medication and therapy. I've never held a job for more than a year. I've been fired from several service related jobs because I couldn't take shit from people talking down to me all the time. I had a wonderful job as a private investigator which I loved but was forced to retire from because of a permanent relocation. I also was a top salesman at a bank. But none of that seems to matter now. Because of my bankruptcy, work history and lack of degree, I am unemployable in almost any field. I've submitted over 200 resumes, applications and letters of interest, not including phone calls and internet applications, over the past three months. No one wants to hire me now. I live in the second poorest county in the state I live in. I can't get back to school until the fall. I'm stuck every day sitting at home focusing on my misery and lack of resources. I can't move to a more affluent area because I have no savings or credit. I can go back to school in the fall. I plan on it. I'm a finance major. I have about 60 credits until I get my degree. I wonder how many firms want to hire finance or economics people or even managers in the finance or even corporate management field who have filed bankruptcy and have no significant work experience. I'm willing to guess not many. So I feel I'm stuck. Maybe this feeling will subside when I get back to school in the fall. I can't afford to even go to community college in the summer, which I would love to. I had a 3.91 GPA in a tough curriculum and a profitable business. I just can't seem to bounce back. I've always been a loner, but its never been this bad. I have a horrible self image, but can't muster the will to get into the gym. I lost 80 pounds when I was 16 and put on 20 of muscle in about six months. I've always been driven in whatever I've done. I've lost that now. I have no real friends. I have no confidence anymore, and though I've never been a real Casanova, I've always been able to find a pretty girl for just a date or relationship. So where is the direction in my life? I used to know what I wanted and go for it and get it. Now, I'm just losing hope that anything will change despite my best efforts. Nothing has changed regarding becoming employed, or finding friends, or a girl or regaining my motivation despite my relentless a more

Resolved Question: Made an offer on countrywide owned home, addendum says I waive the right to avoid sale due to condition, etc..?

One part says I waive my right to avoid the sale of the home. Another part says I should get a home inspection done within 10 days and then have 5 days after showing to seller to revoke contract if I don't like it. I received this today (saturday) and the seller (countrywide) says I have to sign and return by Monday - the first business day I could possibly get a home inspection when the utilities won't even be turned on.... HELP! Does this addendum say what I think it says? btw, my financing was accepted as FHA Copy of addendum: BUYER (Initials)________________ - 1 - SELLER (Initials)_______________ Revised 3/06 REO #____________________ Countrywide Home Loans, Inc. REAL ESTATE PURCHASE ADDENDUM This Real Estate Purchase Addendum (“Addendum”) is to be made part of, and incorporated into, the Real Estate Purchase Contract dated ___________________________ ("Contract”) between ("Seller" and the term “Seller” shall also include Countrywide Home Loans, Inc.) and ("Buyer") for the property and improvements located at the following address: ("Property"). Buyer and Seller may each be referred to herein as a “Party” and collectively as the “Parties.” The Contract and this Addendum together constitute the “Agreement”. The Seller and the Buyer agree as follows: 1. LIMITATION OF SELLER’S LIABILITY AND BUYER’S WAIVER OF IMPORTANT RIGHTS: BUYER UNDERSTANDS AND ACKNOWLEDGES THAT SELLER HAS ACQUIRED THE PROPERTY THROUGH FORECLOSURE, DEED-IN-LIEU OF FORECLOSURE, OR SIMILAR PROCESS, SELLER HAS NEVER OCCUPIED THE PROPERTY, AND SELLER HAS LITTLE OR NO DIRECT KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THE PROPERTY. BUYER AGREES THAT BUYER IS BUYING THE PROPERTY “AS IS” (AS MORE FULLY SET FORTH IN SECTION 13 OF THIS ADDENDUM). NOTWITHSTANDING ANY PROVISION TO THE CONTRARY IN THE AGREEMENT, SELLER’S LIABILITY AND BUYER’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES AND FOR ALL CLAIMS (AS THE TERM IS DEFINED IN SECTION 26 OF THIS ADDENDUM, AND ALL REFERENCES IN THIS ADDENDUM TO “CLAIMS,” “CLAIM,” “Claims,” or “Claim” SHALL HAVE SUCH MEANING) ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING IN ANY WAY TO THE AGREEMENT OR THE SALE OF THE PROPERTY TO BUYER INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, SELLER’S BREACH OR TERMINATION OF THE AGREEMENT, THE CONDITION OF THE PROPERTY, SELLER’S TITLE TO THE PROPERTY, THE OCCUPANCY STATUS OF THE PROPERTY, THE SIZE, SQUARE FOOTAGE, BOUNDARIES, OR LOCATION OF THE PROPERTY, ANY COST OR EXPENSE INCURRED BY BUYER IN SELLING A CURRENT OR PRIOR RESIDENCE OR TERMINATING A LEASE ON A CURRENT OR PRIOR RESIDENCE, OBTAINING OTHER LIVING ACCOMMODATIONS, MOVING, STORAGE OR RELOCATION EXPENSES, OR ANY OTHER COSTS OR EXPENSES INCURRED BY BUYER IN CONNECTION WITH THE AGREEMENT SHALL BE LIMITED TO NO MORE THAN: (A) A RETURN OF BUYER’S EARNEST MONEY DEPOSIT IF THE SALE TO BUYER DOES NOT CLOSE; AND (B) THE LESSER OF BUYER’S ACTUAL DAMAGES OR $5,000.00 IF THE SALE TO BUYER CLOSES. BUYER SHALL NOT BE ENTITLED TO A RETURN OF BUYER’S EARNEST MONEY DEPOSIT IF BUYER MATERIALLY BREACHES THE AGREEMENT. BUYER AGREES THAT SELLER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO BUYER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES FOR ANY SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES WHATSOEVER, WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE AND STRICT LIABILITY), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL OR EQUITABLE PRINCIPLE, THEORY, OR CAUSE OF BUYER (Initials)________________ - 2 - SELLER (Initials)_______________ Revised 3/06 ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED IN ANY WAY TO ANY CLAIM, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE AFOREMENTIONED CLAIMS. ANY REFERENCE TO A RETURN OF THE BUYER’S EARNEST MONEY DEPOSIT CONTAINED IN THE AGREEMENT SHALL MEAN A RETURN OF THE EARNEST MONEY DEPOSIT, LESS ANY ESCROW CANCELLATION FEES APPLICABLE TO THE BUYER UNDER THE AGREEMENT AND LESS FEES AND COSTS PAYABLE FOR SERVICES AND PRODUCTS PROVIDED DURING ESCROW AT THE BUYER’S REQUEST. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW THE BUYER WAIVES ANY CLAIMS THAT THE PROPERTY IS UNIQUE AND THE BUYER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT A RETURN OF ITS EARNEST MONEY DEPOSIT CAN ADEQUATELY AND FAIRLY COMPENSATE THE BUYER FOR ALL CLAIMS. UPON RETURN OF THE EARNEST MONEY DEPOSIT TO THE BUYER, THE AGREEMENT SHALL BE TERMINATED, AND THE BUYER AND THE SELLER SHALL HAVE NO FURTHER LIABILITY, OBLIGATION, OR RESPONSIBILITY TO EACH OTHER IN CONNECTION WITH THE AGREEMENT. IF THE SALE TO BUYER CLOSES AND SELLER COMPENSATES BUYER AS PROVIDED ABOVE FOR BUYER’S ACTUAL DAMAGES, IF ANY, THEN THE BUYER AND THE SELLER SHALL HAVE NO FURTHER LIABILITY, OBLIGATION, OR RESPONSIBILITY TO EACH OTHER IN CONNECTION WITH THE AGREEMENT. SELLER’S LIMITATION OF LIABILITY AND BUYER’S WAIVERS PROVIDED IN THE AGREEMENT ARE A MATERIAL PART OF THE CONSIDERATION TO BE RECEIVED BY THE SELLER UNDER THE AGREEMENT AS NEGOTIATED AND AGREED TO BY THE BUYER AND THE SELLER. THE BUYER FURTHER WAIVES THE FOLLOWING, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (A) ALL RIGHTS TO FILE AND MAINTAIN AN ACTION AGAINST THE SELLER FOR SPECIFIC PERFORMANCE; (B) RIGHT TOLooks just like this: http://www.placercountyhomesandland.net/files/countrywide_real_estate_purchase_addendum.pdf This is a generic copy I found, but it is the same exact one I was given. We are getting FHA loan and they accepted our offer on the house... and then sent the addendum. On one part it says we waive the right to stop sell of property due to condition, structure, etc. On another it says we have 10 days to get inspection? Does this mean we can't get out of contract even if the inspection turns out bad? I just got this paper today (saturday) and they said they have the have it back by Monday - the first day I could possibly get an inspection done when the utilities won't even be turned on yet. Resolved Question: Is there someone who works for Cingular (AT&T Wireless) who is willing to help me with my issue?

Basically, I'm an AT&T customer who recently relocated from California to Texas. I don't want to change my number since I've had it for so long. I want to add a line to my account under the add a line terms ($9.99 additional/mo; FamilyTalk share existing minutes pool incl rollover) however apparently I can't do that unless I want to have the new number be a California number. I plan to use the additional line for business purposes, so having a local number is important. Here is the email I sent to AT&T Customer Service after I spent 57 minutes speaking to various representatives trying to work this out: "Currently, I have one line on a Nationwide plan. I would like to add a like to this plan for business use. Recently, I relocated from California to Texas. Apparently, my usage area is still referencing California and this causes problems when I would like to add a line with a local (Texas) number. Here is what I need. I need to add a line to my account. Changing my existing phone number is not an option. I do not feel that it is reasonable to circumvent your system limitation by having two seperate accounts thus paying 2-3 times as much as I should if I were able to simply add a line. I've been with Cingular (AT&T) for some time and would like to continue to patronize you guys as a customer, however, if a compromise is not available, I will be forced to search for another carrier who will be able to accomodate me. I'd be more than willing to create a second account with the local information as long as I'd only be charged the $9.99/mo that I would normally be charged for adding a line." Personally, I don't think it is unreasonable to ask for a compromise. If in order to handle my request, I have to have a sperate account, I should be able to get it discounted. Looking at the rate plans available with AT&T, I'd have to pay around $30 a month to have service I could (and am entitled to) for only $10 a month. Why should I be punished because of their system limitations? Here is the response I got from the Customer Service department: "Dear Mr. xxxxxx, Thank you for taking the time to e-mail AT&T regarding adding a line to your account with a Texas phone number and keep your California number. I understand the importance of getting information on adding a line to your account. My name is Mary Sheppard, and I am happy to help you with your inquiry. Unfortunately, the only way to add a line to your account would be to relocate your California phone number to Texas. We are not able to have phone numbers for different markets on the same account. The only other option is have a separate account with the Texas phone number and the $9.99 additional line price would not apply to an individual line account. If you would like to complete relocation, please be advised of the following: 1. A new account and wireless number will be activated 2. A new SIM is required and will be sent to the customer by the Relocation Department 3. A credit evaluation is NOT required for Relocations 4. A contract extension is not required to complete relocation Exception: if the customer chooses to upgrade their plan and/or equipment, a contract extension may be required If a customer has a converted account, an equipment upgrade will be performed by the relocation team prior to the relocation 5. Rate plan, equipment and rollover minute eligibility will be determined at the time the relocation is processed In order to process your relocation we will need for you to contact our relocations department. The number to this department is (800)826-7356. The hours of operations are Monday through Friday 7:00am to 11:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am to 10:00 pm and Sunday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. I hope the information provided has been helpful. If you would like assistance with a new question in the future, please log in to your myWireless Account again and send a new email. To send your request via email, please follow these steps: 1. Log in to your "My Wireless" page on att.com/wireless 2. Click on contact us, which is located by the search link on the top right hand corner of page 3. Scroll down to bottom and select the link to email us. 4. Follow prompts to send us an email. AT&T Online Customer Care is unable to assist with email requests unless these requests are submitted via the MyWireless section of ATT.com/wireless. If you follow these steps to email us, this will make sure your email was submitted properly and that you will get a response to your question. We are here to assist you. I encourage you to visit us at www.att.com/wireless often to view your monthly account statements, make payments and shop for new products and services. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to serve you. Please let us know if we can assist you in any other way. Mr. xxxxxx, I have noticed that per your account you have been with us since 09/08/2002 and I want to thankTo the first responder: I'm pretty sure you don't know how cell sites work, but roaming (as we all know it) doesn't exist anymore. All the carriers leapfrog off each others towers for a minimal fee and although there is a fee, it's nominal as it goes both ways. Now, is it really unfair for me to ask to keep my number? Furthermore, was that really the basis of my question? I'm not asking for another California number, thus having two cell phones 'roaming 24/7/365' I want a local 'non-roaming' number at the price (or close to) I'm entitled two if I had a local account. Here is my point, currently I work for a bank (a big one) and when a customer moves from say New York to Texas, we can't link new accounts (Texas) to their existing card. Nor can the system even acknowledge they exist for pricing. So what do we do? We open any new account (when they need it) and waive the charges that would be waived if they were linked. Inconvenient but a compromise. Good customer service. See? more

Resolved Question: What are some items to negotiate on an offer to return to an old job?

I was transferred to a large city. My company policy for a requested transfer was to pay only $2000 of the relocation costs. It cost me about $3500 to move. Once I arrived at the job, I was unable to make my full compensation because part of it was based on service hours to customers and the business did not open for 4 months after my arrival. The new city was congested and expensive. My manager was unbearable and my salary was not enough to live comfortably in this city. After seven months I found a new job in a less expensive city several hundred miles from the old. My former employer has called me quarterly to let me know they wanted to renegotiate. It is now 18 months later and they still want me back. The current salary offer is very good, but I am concerned about relocation costs and costs I could incur for breaking my lease. I needs suggestions on how to negotiate my relocation costs. more

Resolved Question: Do any skilled workers want to work in Australia?

I work assisting small businesses in Australia. Because of the booming economy, the biggest problem they face is finding skilled workers. From what I understand, the economy in the US is heading downhill, especially in construction. An International recruitment and immigration company I work with is considering opening a US office. It would offer free flights and relocation assistance, free immigration service to qualified employees, and a guaranteed well-paid job. Where would be the best location? We are considering either Southern California or Florida. Are these good locations? Thanks for your help. Any positive suggestions will be well much appreciated. more

Resolved Question: The cost of illegal aliens on Californians?

It was just announced that illegals and their families in Los Angeles County alone, collected more than $37 million in welfare and food stamps in November '07; up $3 million in September. County Supervisor Mike Antonovich calls it "an alarming increase" with "devastating impact" on taxpayers. He says illegal aliens cost Los Angeles County more than $1 billion a year: That's $444 million for welfare, $400 million for health care and $220 million for public safety. That's not counting millions in education costs. That's just one county and includes so-called "sanctuary cities." Protection for illegals is rampant statewide; the real cost is vague because it's politically incorrect to inquire. But Californians feel the financial and social assaults, and it's reflected in their choices. Last year, 260,000 more Californians left the state than moved in. Many of those moves were business relocations because of onerous taxes and bureaucracy. The state's economic outlook isn't positive. The proof? A $14.5 billion state budget deficit. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger proposes cuts, closing state parks, reducing beach staffing, mandating prisoner early releases, reducing prison staff, lowering education budgets, reducing health and human services and more. He doesn't want new taxes; the Democrat-controlled legislature does. They ignore the obvious reason for the deficit – reckless spending and out-of-control borrowing. Despite all that, they want to institute health care for every Californian. How to pay for it? Don't ask. Average Californians often don't notice the pervasive "nanny-government mentality." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59667 more

Resolved Question: What are some unique ideas for attracting and keeping young employees?

Hello, I work in human resources for an offshore service company in south Louisiana. Our company is well established and has been in business for over forty years. Our company works jobs all over the entire Gulf South, so we are able to recruit employees from Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi & southern Arkansas. In other words, relocation is not necessary to work for our company. For work we only require a high school diploma, reliable transportation, and a great attitude. Our pay overall is a little under average compared to other offshore positions, however this job is not physical in nature compared to other positions. more

Resolved Question: I will retire at age 62. What is a good part time job which pays a high rate of pay so I have more free time.?

I have worked as an accountant. I have a MBA and have worked as a CPA. I let my liccense lapse however. I am in relatively good health but just showing the effects of normal aging. I would be open to an internet business. I would prefer some type of self-employment opportunity rather than working as an employee. I would be very interested in some type of situation where I could earn room and board in return for some service rendered. This could be doing accounting and bookkeeping work for a family business. It could also involve living in and being a companion to older persons needing help with shopping, house cleaning, cooking, paying bills, etc. A situation of earning room and board in return for some part time work would be ideal. I live in the Chicago, IL area but am very open to relocation, especially to a rural or small town area. I would especially be interested in locations in the upper South and the Midwest. more
