Entrepreneur Dan Rolfes puts his image on holiday

"I branded Holiday Homes so strongly that it's hard to be anything else," said Rolfes, a 65-year-old serial entrepreneur whose business interests include several trailer parks; a handful of commercial developments; a mortgage company; an insurance brokerage; an 8 percent stake in Milford's 8-year-old community bank, CenterBank; and a floor-cleaning company whose grout-cleaning system is close to a national distribution deal.

"Manufactured housing is now a minority of the business," said Rolfes. "It's hard to be the chairman of a bank in your red underwear. The market has a hard time accepting such things."

So, Rolfes is rebranding his companies under the MeridianMark Management LLC name. He hired Wordsworth Communications to develop a rollout strategy for the brand. more

At the end of 2001 after court hearings between Russia�s Ministry of Agriculture and the SPI group 40 vodka brands (Stolichnaya, Moskovskaya, Russkaya and so on) were re-registered so that the Russian Federation, that is the Ministry of Agriculture, got the rights to them. Later the rights were handed over to Soyuzplodimport, which was founded specially for that purpose. SPI�s attempts to appeal the re-registration failed and Yury Shefler�s group stopped its business in Russia removing the production of the contested brands to a factory in Latvia it owned - Latvijas Balzams. more

The association says the sites profit from advertising while posting links to pirated movies as recent as "The Dark Knight" and "The X-Files: I Want to Believe," which are still in theaters.

The MPAA has filed similar lawsuits against seven other sites. In May, the association was awarded $4.1 million in federal judgments against Showstash.com and Cinematube.net.

The association says the worldwide movie business loses some $18 billion a year to piracy.
