In 10-day tour, Hulshof shares views on business, economy

Republican gubernatorial candidate Kenny Hulshof took his 10-day business tour to the Northland on Sunday, praising overhauls that he said had created a friendlier business climate in Missouri.Speaking to several dozen people crammed into Philly Time, a small sandwich shop at 8002 North Oak Trafficway, Hulshof said that Missouri led the country in jobs lost per capita three years ago.

"Part of that was we had lawsuits that were driving up the costs of doing business, driving health-care people out of the profession or driving them across the state line over into Kansas," he said.

"... We had a million Missourians that were on public assistance. We had a budget deficit of about $1 billion. Now in the old days, the answer to that would have been a two-word answer: 'Raise taxes.' Not so under Governor Blunt."Hulshof said that "the naysayers were wringing their hands, saying things are getting worse, but in fact they're getting better because someone made those tough calls, those tough decisions."He pointed to a state surplus of $800 million and falling medical malpractice premiums as evidence of improvement.Hulshof, a 12-year congressman from Columbia, is competing against state Treasurer Sarah Steelman of Rolla in the Aug. more

Business to "hoard" labour: economists

Three separate surveys in the past couple of days have shown a decline in business hiring intentions.

The latest - the ANZ job advertisement series released Monday - showed the total number of jobs advertised in major metropolitan newspapers and on the internet fell by three per cent in June.

This was the second consecutive monthly drop.

ANZ joint head of Australian economics Sally Auld said the survey was consistent with the trend in easing employment growth since the start of the year.

Employment growth should ease modestly over the next six months, but she did not expect a significant slowing in labour market activity.

"Indeed, the risk may be that persistent skill shortages could encourage firms to hoard labour," Ms Auld said. more

Open Question: I need a PRO to proof-read a paragraph for proper punctuation. Please?

I don't want ANY assumtions made on how to use correct punctuation any keep the opinions to a minimum. I'm trying to learn here and it's not nice to fill me with false information. :0) Please. Resolved Question: Do you think a morning coffee/tea delivery service would be successful?

The idea would be to have a coffee/tea (maayyybee hot chocolate) delivery service, which runs only in the morning. Basically I would create a business where I would be supplying the product (I would choose something high quality and worth the while) and between the hours of say...6-8 AM I would have runners delivering hot beverages to clients. This would not be a call-in daily type order system...clients would pay a monthly subscription fee for the services and they would be delivered their beverage between a small couple hour time frame every single day. If they are not available a certain day, they are still charged the same price as if they received the services every day. I got to thinking about this, because I was thinking how great it would be for someone to deliver a hot tea to me in the morning instead of having to get in my car and drive somewhere for it, or make it at home. Usually it wouldn't be cost effective for a business to deliver such a cheap item but if this were to be done as a monthly fee and routes could be planned to be most time efficient, I started thinking I might be on to something... Do you think this idea has any potential? Also do you have any good ideas for this business if you think it has any potential? There are canteens which keep liquids very hot for hours so I would probably send each delivery driver out with the canteens and they would fill the cup on the spot. more

Resolved Question: Starting a small business?

Hello. I'm just looking for advice and wisdom. I want to start a Gaming lounge/Internet cafe/Coffee shop/Bar/Computer repair shop all in one. ha-ha Its mostly just a dream at the moment.Im a 23 year old college student majoring in Computer Networking.I don't really have any knowledge of how to even start taking steps to start a business. It would sort of be this kind of approach www.thevglounge.com The best location for this business i figured would be a college town. The dream is for it mainly to be a gaming lounge; friends could come hang out and have LAN matches and such and the shop would have tournaments with prizes as well as an internet cafe and computer service/repair shop.Additionally it would be nice to maybe throw something else like a coffee shop during the day, bar at night kind of deal. I know i'd have to go in with a partner who knew quite a bit about business management. anyway like i said I have no clue how to even begin to get this into motion, im just looking for some wisdom possibly from experience. Thanks in advance. more

Resolved Question: An employee's view of mystery shopper?

I work in a retail book business, work hard and love my job, absoloutely love helping customers and always receive good feedback from them. However the company mystery shopper has given a very negative feedback about my performance recently. Some which are not even true, such as I wasn't wearing my name badge. I wear it all the time, I don't even take it off from my uniform. Also she said I didn't greet her after she walked in to the store becoz I was on the phone. She said I should take the phone customer's name down and come back to service other customers... that just sounds rediculous. Also she said when she was asking for a book, I suggested her to another bookshop(which is another branch) becoz we didn't have that title in stock... I can't see anything wrong with this, but she said in the report I was trying to send her away and didn't want to help her! I mean the whole report is just full of these kind of feedback I hardly agree. I am not sure if the company realizes this, but honestly I now feel my company loyalty is gone and seriously thinking to look for another job,a company who really appreciates me and my knowledge and hard work. I don't know how many others have a same feeling but I feel I am actually really disappointed with my company after receiving a feedback like this. I am not saying mystery shopper is a bad idea, but it really involves those shopper's personal idea and emotion. Also as an employee, I feel I am not being respected somehow. (I have been told they were taking a secret video as well). Somehow we work hard for our boss/company, they use this or that way or send people to 'spy' on us. I really think every 'upper' person, should put on a uniform and work in a retail store, stand behind a counter for 8 hours a day to know what exactly we are doing. This is much better than sending a mystery shopper and reading their reports in a big office with coffee in a comfortable chair. more

Resolved Question: How to structure a deal for people investing in my LLC?

I own a housekeeping service I want to use OPM (other people's money) to fund my business. I purchased a coffee shop several years ago, ad while it was a great idea, the anchor store for the place I was attached to closed so I had to file bankruptcy (I had a lease and various other obligations that I could not escape). This time around, I learned and won't be sticking my neck out all the way without other people's necks at least half way out as mine lol. I have been in business for a year. I am creating a business plan. Marketing methods I have used are all free or relatively cheap and it has rewarded me with steady business. I thnk if I were to spend money on marketing our brand, we could get a lot more customers Plus I am operating in two markets. I want to be able to structure a deal for people who want to invest in my business. Of course, I'm running an LLC, not a C Corp so I can't do any IPO or anything like that. My problem is I don't know how to structure an investment deal: do I structure a repayment plan like a loan, with interest? Do I ask for the money in increments like an investor promises $10k over a year but to be given at $2500 per quarter with an expected return of $2000 after two years. PLEASE help! reccomend me a good book about getting investors without involving a million expensive lawyers. I want to be very basic. I just want to be able to show how our business has performed over the past year, show our business plan and ask for their money. I want to avoid loan-backing my business. I don't want to ever bankrupt myself or anyone else again.TO Mr. Top Contributor who answered my question: I don't think It matters what the money is for. Maybe I want to buy 10 Hybrid vehicles to run my green business. This isn't a business presentation; it's a simple question. I don't know how to structure a deal so that I get capital and investors get a return from profits. That simple. Also, I do say what it is for: Marketing. Did you miss that? Feel free to look at my blog entry and leave comments with your suggestions at http://www.claytonjamesonline.com/apps/forums/topics/show/2141931-how-do-i-structure-an-investment-deal-with-an-investor-with-my-llc more

Resolved Question: [UK question] Deductible expenses against mystery shopping income?

I have a full-time job earning above the personal allowance and NIC threshhold. I've just started doing some mystery shopping work on the side, which is nothing to do with my day job. What's involved is basically you go to e.g. a pub and have to order a drink and a meal, and report on service times, quality of food, staff attitudes, condition of the toilets and so on. The pay consists of three things: 1. Reimbursement of the amount that you were required to spend in order to do the assignment (e.g. the particular meal or drink that you had to buy and comment on). This has to be receipted. 2. A travel/mileage fee. This is a set amount and proof of actual spend is not required. In most cases this does not cover the cost of my Tube fare there and back. 3. On occasion, there is also a fee for doing a job - small amounts, up to a fiver. So far, when there has been a fee there has not been any mileage/travel paid for the same job. Obviously I still incur a travel cost for the job. So mentally I see this as being the same as 2. In essence, it's a free meal/drink/purchase in exchange for your time and trouble and the fact that they are choosing when and where and what you eat/buy (the instructions are very specific and there is little or no personal choice). You don't actually make any money out of it. Unfortunately for me, I work in tax (I specialise in a completely unrelated area) and am a member of the CIOT, which means that I don't have the option of just keeping quiet about my earnings on the grounds that it's such a piddly amount and nets out to nil anyway and nobody's going to pick it up. It's essential that my own tax affairs are clean as a whistle. So... I know the rough answer, which is that everything (1, 2 and 3) is taxable and I can deduct my expenses against the income. But are the required purchases an allowable deduction? Do the Revenue apply Mallalieu v Drummond at this level and say "oh well you'd have had to have eaten anyway and so it's dual purpose" and disallow it? Is there a distinction drawn between things like e.g. having a meal at a mealtime, compared with something that's clearly a luxury item like buying a cup of coffee (which I wouldn't have needed to do in order to survive)? Does it make a difference whether or not I am required to comment on the quality of the food as part of the assignment (for example, if the assignment is in a shop the brief might just be "you must make a small purchase" but they don't care what I bought or whether I enjoyed eating it)? Since all I get is reimbursement of expenses that I've actually had to pay out, I don't make a cash profit. If I have to pay tax then these meals will be costing me "real money" (albeit only 22% of their cost) even though I wouldn't have chosen to go and have those meals if I wasn't required to by the assignment. Then again, who ever said tax was fair? I had a look on the HMRC website and they had no specific notes about it. All their stuff on setting up a business doesn't really cover what I'm doing and is too general to be of use. Does anyone know whether they have a specific policy on this? Thanks for reading! (Please note: I am in the UK. I don't need to know how it would work in any other country. Thanks!) more

Resolved Question: Would someone please take a look at my 300 word college app essay?

Here is the prompt: In an essay of 300 words or less, choose one extracurricular activity, work experience, or community service project from the list you provided on the application and explain why you initially chose it, why you continued with it, and how you benefited from it. And here is my response: With each rung I climbed, another level of danger accompanied. I knew that at five feet above the ground, my chances of living were comfortably high. But sitting at 25 feet above stone and ice, my chances would be significantly lower. I had worked that high on a ladder before, but never with gusting winds and a chilly temperature of 3 degrees Fahrenheit. As I neared the top, a howling wind reddened my hands and weakened my resolve. I shoved my hands in my pockets and leaned against the ladder as it started to give way. I’ve been working with Active Alarm Company for 3 years. The owner of the company, who also happens to be my father, isn’t afraid of making me work extra hours or assigning work of all kinds, from writing quotes, to fetching coffee, to crawling through attics laden with fiberglass insulation. My father recruited me when I was 16, assigning me to cleaning duty. Although the work could be degrading at times, I stuck with it, earning money to save for my future and helping my father continue his business. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to continue working there. I’ve amassed and refined an admirable set of skills ranging across all fields- from public relations to working with my hands; learning Spanish to laying electrical pipe; time management to personal responsibility. Yet with all of these lessons, the greatest one was discovering that my job at Active Alarm would not be my lifelong career. The ladder slid only a centimeter: enough to jar me, but not enough to throw me. I continued upward and installed the security camera before scurrying down to safer altitudes. Although my true calling lies atop a different ladder, the climb was more beneficial than I could have imagined. more

Resolved Question: What should be the fate of illegal aliens found in the United States?

Most of the illegals from Mexico are poorly educated by American standards. Because of this, they compete for jobs with those Americans who are least able to fend for themselves. * Because they frequently work under the table and are paid in cash, few pay income taxes, and the businesses that hire them pay no employment taxes. This gives businesses that hire illegals an unfair competitive advantage over those businesses that obey the law. * Those who do get a regular job, do so with fraudulent identification. This can have dire consequences for those who have their identities stolen. It also provides a path for illegals to get government services they are not entitled to. * Much of the money earned by illegals is shipped back to their home countries, thus it is not recycled into the U.S. economy where its use would provide jobs for other Americans. * Even though these illegals send much of their money home, they consume food, shelter, and other amenities in America. Basic economic theory states that when aggregate demand rises in relation to aggregate supply, prices rise. * Because they dilute the labor pool - again, based on economic theory - they lower wages for those lower-class Americans who can find work. * Illegal aliens create a great burden on our healthcare system. With no insurance and little money, they frequently use emergency rooms in place of a primary care physician. Because they are illegal, they are untraceable, and can’t be forced to pay their bills. * And, worst of all, is the fact that low-level employees do not create jobs, they fill them. That means that for every illegal alien who is working in the United States, one American who desperately needs a job is not. Mexico keeps a large contingent of its military on its southern border to stop illegal immigration from other countries. Believe it or not, there are populations who see Mexico as an economic powerhouse and would love to live there. Guatemalans, for instance, can make twice as much money picking coffee in Mexico as they can in their home country. Mexican authorities routinely round them up at gunpoint, hold them overnight and - if they can’t prove they have a right to be in the country - ship them back home. This might seem a little harsh by American standards, more

Resolved Question: How many jobs are saved or created with just one private jet?

How many jobs are created from from one well-used business airplane, from the drawing board to the bone-yard? Add all the fractional jobs together from the pilots, mechanics, ATC, fuel services, caterers to the guy that brings coffee and water to anyone that has anything to do with that airplane. Then calculate from the time the bauxite is mined until the aircraft is scrapped and all the remaining parts are used up keeping other aircraft flying. It seems that just one airplane could provide hundreds, even thousands of jobs over the life of the airplane, especially if you add the tens-of thousands of "fractional jobs. Everybody loves to hate the fat-cat who can buy a new airplane, but how many jobs does he create with this one purchase? Production of new aircraft has dwindle to a trickle, so many jobs are lost forever and rich folks are in no mood to buy jets, these days. Could anyone throw out a guess on the gross total of jobs saved or created with the production of one new, mid-line biz-jet from the mine to the junk yard? more

Resolved Question: Just need help completing this problem do not have to give answers just give directions?

Bernard M. Palmer, age 50 (birth date 06/17/1956), is single and lives at XXXX XXXXXXXXXX XXXX, Overland Park, KS 66204. 1. Bernard is a licensed hairstylist and beautician and operates his own business. Located al 1500 Cottonwood Lane, Kansas City, KS 66102, the business is conducted under the name "Bernard's Creations." Besides a display room and a reception area, the business consists of eight work stations (i.e., chairs). During the course of any year, Bernard leases up to seven of the stations to other hairstylists and beauticians. As is the common practice with similar businesses in the area, the other stylists are treated as being self- employed. They arrange their own work schedules, handle their customer appointments, and collect and keep any fees charged. In return for the use of the work station, each stylist pays Bernard a minimum rental plus a percentage of the income earned. Although not expressly provided for, it is expected that the stylists will buy their beautician supplies from Bernard. 2. Bernard's Creations is the local distributor for several beauty products (e.g., conditioners, shampoos) that cannot be purchased in stores. Bernard buys these items from the manufacturers and resells them to other beauticians (including those who rent chairs from him), regular patrons, and walk-in customers. Bernard's Creations is also well known for the selection and quality of its hairpieces (i.e., wigs, toupees). At the business location, Bernard maintains storage facilities and a display area for the items he has for sale. 3. Although Bernard operates his business on a cash basis, he maintains inventory accounts for the items he sells. Relevant information about the inventories (based on lower of cost or market) is as follows: 12/31/05 12/31/06 Beautician supplies Hairpieces and wigs $10,200 13,100 $ 9,900 12,700 4. Bernard's Creations had the following receipts for calendar year 2006: Sales of beauty products $54,000 Sales of hairpieces and wigs 88,000 Income from Bernard's customers (including tips) 50,500 Rents received from stylists for lease of stations 62,000 The amounts shown for sales exclude appropriate state and local sales tax. E-2 Appendix E Comprehensive Tax Return Problems http://www.thomsonedu.com/taxation/wft Bernard's Creations had the following expenses for 2006: Purchases of beauty products Purchases of hairpieces and wigs Operating supplies (e.g., rinses, dyes, styling gels, hair spray) Utilities (i.e., gas, electric, telephone) Water, sewage, trash pickup City fine Legal advice Occupation license for city and state Accounting services Janitorial services Liability insurance Fire and theft insurance Ad valorem property taxes on business assets (equipment, inventory, building) Reception room provisions (magazines, coffee, tea) Advertising (in suburban newspapers) Reception room renovation $34,300 47,500 5,100 8,200 3,800 300 100 2,200 4,600 3,400 3,700 4,400 6,000 2,100 4,300 9,200 6. As Bernard has an aversion to the time and trouble involved, he does everything possible to avoid employer-employee arrangements. Thus, he retains local accounting and janitorial firms to perform the bookkeeping and cleaning work for the business. 7. The ad valorem property taxes listed above do not include a special assessment made in 2006. The city decided to repave Cottonwood Lane, and Bernard's share (based on the frontage of the property) was $3,700. He paid this amount in June. 8. Bernard decided to completely renovate the reception room. On May 1, 2006, he spent 39,200 for chairs, sofa, lamps, coffee bar, etc. The old furnishings were either thrown away or given to customers. Bernard has always followed a policy of claiming as much depreciation as soon as possible. For tax purposes, the old furnishings had a zero basis. 9. On January 10, 1983, Bernard occupied the building he had constructed at Cottonwood Lane. Original cost was $220,000, with $40,000 allocated to the land and $20,000 to special-purpose fixtures (e.g., extra sinks, electrical outlets). Except for a significant down payment (from savings and an inheritance), the cost was financed by a 30-year mortgage. In January 2006, Bernard decided to pay off the mortgage. To do so, he incurred a prepayment penalty of $4,800. 10. The $300 fine levied by the city was attributable to the improper disposal of certain waste chemicals. Although Bernard questioned the justification for the fine as the sanitation department guidelines were vague, he was not inclined to spend time and money contesting die matter. He did, however, pay a customer who is an attorney $100 for advice on the matter. 11. In June 2006, Bernard saw an ad in a trade publication that caught his attention. The owner of several wig shops in Missouri had died, and his e more

I am currently working on a business project and would like your input. I need to know what you look for when buying a coffee from a coffee shop. This could be based on ambiance, the price, the quality, the availability, or even the services offered such as WIFI. It could be anything that you can think of that would make you purchase a coffee. Resolved Question: I need a who's right/who's wrong argument settled through a vote?

I am only stating facts and nothing else. Should you need more information feel free to ask. Here's the story... My girlfriend and I live together and are currently sharing a car as she recently sold hers. Technically the car is mine but she uses it for her day to day needs like picking the kids up from school, grocery shopping, etc. I am self employed so my schedule is pretty flexible and on most days she will drop me off at the office and pick me up when I'm ready. I do have an obligation to provide a shipping service for a company I have a contract with and it is important that I start each day at a reasonable hour so that I can perform as promised. On the day in question my girlfriend had a doctors appointment at 11:00am. She had told me about the appointment several times in the week preceding the appointment and on the morning of the appointment's. At around 8:30am I had made plans to have breakfast with a friend/business associate. She reminded me of her appointment and I decided to cancel my breakfast. I sat in the dining room working on my computer from 9:00am on and from time to time got up to either smoke a cigarette or get more coffee. I'm not sure what my girlfriend was doing exactly but she could have been cleaning up around the house or doing laundry, I'm not sure. At around 10:30am she said we have to go I'm going to be late. I got into the car after putting my laptop away and helped her put the dogs in their rooms. I proceeded to my office which is about 5 minutes from our house. It is almost exactly 5 miles and most of it is highway. Almost religiously I stop at Starbucks on the way in. She started getting upset in the car on the way there and I asked why she didn't tell me earlier that we needed to leave. I skipped my Starbucks and went straight in the direction of my office. She then told me that her doctor's appointment was about 15-20 minutes away. After she continually blamed me for her being late and I continued to say it was her fault we ended up in a very big argument. At some point she decided there was no way she was going to make it on time and called to cancel the appointment. I then turned the other way to go to starbucks. Aside from the obvious of me being a little unsympathetic to the fact that she was late. I was extremely pissed off that I was taking the blame for it. She still contends that it was my responsibility to know what time to leave for her doctor's appointment. She never told me the address of the doctor, she assumes that I knew where it was. Regardless of whether I knew where it was, is it my responsibility to watch the clock and make sure she's on time? Am I in the wrong? Shouldn't she have said we need to leave at 10:00am? To make it very simple, AM I TO BLAME? more

Resolved Question: This Is A True Story. Has Anyone Ever Witnessed Something Like This?

A young man had been to Wednesday Night Bible Study. T he Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's voice The young man couldn't help but wonder, 'Does God still speak to people?' After service, he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message. Several different ones talked about how God had led them in different ways. It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, 'God...If you still speak t o people, speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey.' As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk. He shook his head and said out loud, 'God is that you?' He didn't get a reply and started on toward home. But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk. The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli. 'Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk.' It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home. As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, 'Turn Down that street.' This is crazy he thought, and drove on past the intersection. Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street . At the next inters ection, he turned back and headed down Seventh. Half jokingly, he said out loud, 'Okay, God, I will.' He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in a semi- commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either. The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed. Again, he sensed something, 'Go and give t he milk to the people in the house across the street.' The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat. 'Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid.' Again, he felt like he should go and give the milk. Finally, he opened the door, 'Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for some thing, but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here.' He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise inside. A man's voice yelled out, 'Who is it? What do you want?' Then the door opened before the young man could get away. The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt. H e looked like hejust got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. 'What is it?' The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, 'Here, I brought this to you.' The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway. Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man had tears streaming down his face. The man began speaking and half crying, 'We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk.' His wife in the kitchen yelled out, 'I ask him to send an Angel with some. Are you an Angel?' The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face. He knew that God still answers prayers. more

Resolved Question: economy text from english to serbian?

could you translate this text into serbian by tomorrow? please The London Stock Exchange Limited (LSE) is the world's oldest stock exchange and one of the top three stock exchanges in the world, after the New York and Tokyo exchanges. Founded in 1773 and reincorporated as a private limited company in 1986, the LSE is also the world leader in international share trading. The LSE operates a number of market products, including the main board listing, featuring more than 3,000 companies and including over 500 international companies, as well as the secondary AIM (Alternative Investment Market), established in 1995 as a vehicle for trades in small, high-growth companies. More than 70 companies are listed on the AIM board. After launching the Stock Exchange Electronic Trading Services (SETS) in 1997, the LSE introduced a new listing, techMARK, tailored to the specific needs of the high-technology sector and designed to compete with the NASDAQ index. With a total equity turnover value of more than £3.5 billion, the LSE achieved gross revenues of £149.8 million in 1999. The LSE is led by Chairman John Kemp-Welch and CEO Gavin Casey. Founded in 1773, the LSE reflects more than 200 years of the development of share-based enterprise. The world's first joint-stock company was created in the mid-16th century. Traditionally, companies were either owned by a single individual or through a partnership with two or more owners. While this arrangement sufficed for smaller businesses and stable market sectors, direct financial responsibility for riskier endeavors--such as the great trade exploration voyages of the period--were judged too precarious for an individual or limited group of investors. The organization of such a venture, that of a voyage to trace a northern sea route to the Far East from London in 1553, introduced the world's first shareholder-based company. Selling shares to a larger number of investors reduced the financial risk for each individual investor, while enabling the company itself to raise the capital needed to fund its operations. This first joint-stock company failed to find a northern sea route to the Far East. However, a meeting with Russian tsar Ivan the Terrible brought the company the exclusive rights to trade between Russia and England. The Muscovy Company, as it came to be called, became a commercial success, rewarded its shareholders with large profits, and inspired the creation of new investment ventures. The Muscovy Company served as the model for future shareholder-based companies. Investors contributed capital funding, while direction of the company's operations remained in the hands of its management. The investors, who were allowed to sell their holdings or buy more shares, were given dividends according to the company's profits. As more companies were set up following the Muscovy model, a new profession came into being, that of the broker, who acted as a middleman for trades of shares, helping to boost not only the number of joint-stock companies but also the number of investors. Adding impetus to this movement was the foundation of the Bank of England as a joint-stock company by King William III in order to provide funding for England's military campaign against France at the end of the 17th century. The shareholder system was given further support by legislation to limit and punish brokers for malpractice. By the 18th century, a flourishing "market" for shares was in place--so much so that the period marked the first stock market crash in 1720. While trading took place at the Royal Exchange through the middle of the century, the rowdy behavior--itself to become something of a tradition on the market floor--of certain brokers led to their exclusion. Instead of leaving the business, these brokers began meeting at Jonathan's Coffee House and other coffee shops in the Threadneedle Street area of London. In 1760, some 150 brokers founded their own club to buy and sell stock at Jonathan's. The following decade, in 1773, the members of the club changed its name to the Stock Exchange. As the individual broker members of the Stock Exchange began to establish brokerage firms, and the number of markets expanded, the Stock Exchange saw a need for new quarters. In 1801, the Stock Exchange began construction on a new building at what was to become its permanent London location. The following year, the Stock Exchange published a Deed of Settlement, formally outlining the operating rules and procedures of the stock market. If the original joint-stock companies were formed to provide funding for the many voyages of discovery, overseas trading, and foreign military campaigns, the shareholder-based company structure showed itself easily adaptable to the changing economic landscape of the 19th century. The Industrial Revolution, coupled with such major infrastructure undertakings as the building of a national railroad system, provided the basis for the modern period of shareholder-b more

Resolved Question: Is it fair for those who don't want or need health insurance be forced to buy it?

Let's say that you're single, unemployed (as, apparently, at least 10% of Americans are as of Sept 2009), have some money in the bank (i.e., enough to live on, comfortably, including being able to buy some frills, such as the occasional designer coffee, having regular internet and cell phone services, being able to rent movies, buy gas for your economy car, etc, etc), and are in reasonably good health, and haven't been to or need a physician, dentist, etc. Given the above, in Massachusetts, where health insurance is mandatory, just as automobile insurance is (except, of course, that you have the choice of not owning a car), you would be required to pay nearly ***$5,000*** per year (as of 2008) for mandatory health insurance, and, if you don't buy into a health insurance plan, you would be penalized via your State income taxes, which proves that their health plan is little more than a punitive, direct, tax, as would be the US National Health Plan, should it come to that). And, yet, there has been no decrease in Medicaid or Medicare spending (why would either be needed if the poor will be "given" health care while the wealthy pay for it? (and, don't kid yourself: the amount that goes into the system, State or nationalized or not, won't pay a fraction of the medical costs, which will continue to rise as the number of people who demand to get their fair share of services rises while, proportionally, the number of physicians, care givers, pharmacists, etc, decreases, which means that taxes and health care plan rates would have to increase). The rich don't need a health plan. Most middle income individuals and families would rather see a doctor when they have to, not because they feel obligated to get their money's worth under a forced plan. And the poor will either abuse the system or be abused by it (i.e., insurance companies and physicians taking bigger cuts, kick-backs, etc). So, given the above, the vast majority of Americans don't require (or, arguably, want) a mandatory health insurance plan. What we need is a guarantee of low-cost medical services, elimination of waste, redundancy, unnecessary procedures, etc, and improved health education, so that people learn how to take better care of themselves. In the history of the USA as a united republic, no department, function, or "business", run by or taken over by the government, State or Federal, has ever improved or been profitable, as evidenced by numerous State bankruptcies and even the Fed having to shut down on occasion. On the contrary, the increased gov't presence has, more than not, led to waste at taxpayer expense. Our government, both State and Federal, are run by wealthy politicians (who, BTW, have health insurance and can afford it), who have no clue how the average person lives, and, yet, they are positive they know what's best for us. So, given the above, do you think it's fair for those who don't want or need health insurance to be forced to buy it? Your thoughts? more

Resolved Question: How would you like for someone to deliver to you at your office, coffee and sweets?

This may sound strange but I am a business owner downtown and am thinking in the morning hours before I open my store, to offer and deliver coffee and sweet rolls to business people that work downtown. I'd offer them to call me or email me the day before their order. I would like to offer a couple blends of coffee, like Starbucks which can be purchased in the grocery store, and a choice of small yeast rolls, muffins, cinnamon rolls. I'd deliver between the hours 8 and 930. What do you think of this idea? What would I call the service? PS: We have serveral businesses downtown with only 1 business serving breakfast (breakfast burritos). I got my inspiration from The Devil Wears Prada, the assistant going out and getting coffee, etc. I would appreciate your comments. Thanks more

Resolved Question: Whatever happened to common sense?

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, common sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, as his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn’t always fair, and maybe it was my fault. common sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. common sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job they failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. He declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer Paracetamol, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student but could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. He began to lose the will to live as churches became businesses; creationism vied for equal footing with proper science, alternative treatments became available on the National Health Service (while cancer drugs were banned) and criminals received better treatment than their victims. The poor bloke took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can sue you for assault. He finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to realise that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement. Barely recovering from that he was bludgeoned to death by the news that the world's financial markets had been demolished by irresponsible bankers who made a fortune doing so and who the governments bailed out by demanding money from those wise enough to have adopted sensible fiscal policies. This grand old man was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion, his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by four stepbrothers; "I Know My Rights," "Someone Else's Problem," "I’m A Victim" and "Work? I'm better off on Welfare," and his stepsisters; "Gymslip Mother" and "I'll have a baby and they'll give me a house." What do you think of the Political upheaval this incident caused? Not many attended his funeral because so few realised he was goneTesticles it's not meant to be funny I'm afraid to say.Jacob W, interesting link here's one for you http://obamaclock.org/ more

Resolved Question: Is inflation a permanent problem or is it reversible?

I've been reading a lot about the possible costs associated with large deficits. Health care might cost in the trillions. The Stimulus Bill is almost a trillion and financed by the Chinese government. The Cap and Trade Bill will cost businesses large sums of money. If the GDP (I'm embarrsed to say I don't know what the initials GDP stand for but it has to do with the goods and services produced as an economic measure lol lol) but if high taxes are needed and businesses go under because of deficits then we can expect inflation. Ok, I have a talkative grandfather whom I love deeply. He often tells me about the 1950s and 60s when he was growing up and performed military service. He was a draftee (someone who was required to serve in the military in the 1960s for the Vietnam War without the person's consent to serving) and often talks about that and other subjects of similar interest. He mentions that when he served in the military he received $60.00 per month as a salary but his beginning salary was only $20.00 per month if you can believe that. Later he had a job that paid $250 per week and he thought he was RICH!!! My concern is about inflation is that it never goes down. Lets say inflation caused a cup of Starbucks coffee (something I really love lol lol) to increase from $2.00 to $5.00. Then it will Never go back to $2.00. Also if companies such as Starbucks go out of business then many people will be unemployed and if the cost of doing business is too high in theUSA then no amount of Stimulus spending or government programs will do any good. I wonder if all the people were right who said that Obama is inexperienced. I voted for McCain because logic told me he was the best candidate. Obama's speeches are empty words. With him you need a guarantee in writing rather then a verbal statement treated as a promise. I would NEVER accept Obama's words but require from him a written statement. At least a written promise is enforceable in a court of law. more

Resolved Question: What do you think of my story? PLEASE read.?

Prologue If I told you I was a normal teenage girl from Atlanta, I would be lying. There’s really nothing “normal” me. At age six my parents gave me ten bucks to go into the grocery store and get a box of cereal. I bought the cereal and sat on the bench for two straight days, waiting for my parents to return. Finally the store manager called Child Services. I stayed in a lot of group homes and learned that some people don’t care about how old you are before the steal away all your innocence. When I was nine, a teenage boy at a group home in New York raped me. When I told my social worker she told me that sometimes those things just happen. At ten, a nice couple decided to take me in for a while. They even took me to France. Which is where they left, sold me actually. To a man who needed an innocent face to deliver his drugs. That lasted about a year. Soon enough, I snuck away one night. Made it to Paris. There, I survived by stealing. Something I learned I had quite a niche for. First it was just food. An apple from the market, a banana, or perhaps even a biscuit from the bakery. But it got so easy. Pick pocketing, my next step up the latter. Men in business coats who constantly are counting their Euro and buying a ton of coffee, women who wear fur coats and lots of jewelry, teenagers who wear the top brand of clothing and walk with their heads held higher than everyone else. Those are the people I chose. People who could spare some. But still, I got bored. The first time I wanted something and decided to take it by force, came to a shock to even me. I was walking along the side walk and I saw it. A cross necklace. Diamonds on each end. White gold from the cross to the chain. Just like the one my momma had. But I was sure hers wasn’t real. Hers was just a dollar store necklace with some 2 cent rhinestones. This was the necklace I wanted and I was sure going to get. That night, I stayed in the ally way behind the store until 2:21 AM. I slid my backpack inside a crack in the brick wall. There I stood, slipping on my black gloves and spandex. My long black, curly hair was tied into a French roll and covered with a tight black hat. This time I had to be careful. This was a jewelry store. Pulling a medal nail file out of my pocket, I used to it to unscrew the out side vent. Two seconds later I was inside. A can of spray paint, a lock pick kit, and a rope with a harness. I was in, out, and hooking my necklace around my neck in 2 minutes 22 seconds. A start of an epidemic. Now I’m fourteen and one of the top thieves for higher in the world. Just call me Robin.   Chapter One Sitting in a desk with my head down, appearing to be asleep, I listened intently to my science teacher. She is explaining genetics. How one is dominate over another. Things I already knew. Here I went by Atlanta George. Get it? Yea, I know, so sly. To my clients I’m known as Robin. But to myself, I realize I have no real name. No one ever called me by a name until a few years ago when I restarted school, and that was just a name I made up. Don’t sweat the small details with the whole parent/ guardian stuff. When you’re a thief, things like this are easy. Anyway, since I’m sure you don’t want to hear about how genetics are past from parent to offspring, I’ll catch you up on my current client. Jeffry Collins is a rich man that needs an unofficial hand getting a hold of some documents to keep his company out of a law suit that could probably take him for everything he’s worth. So he called me. These documents have been removed from every hard drive in his company’s files, but one copy remains. This copy is in a vault in the basement of the Bank of England. A job that will take time a thought. But I have until Thursday. The Bank of England was originally built in 1732 by George Sampson. So everything is old school. Real old school. The vault is in the basement. Each floor has 4 security guards except for the basement; there’s 6. One in each hallway and two in front of the vault. A challenge for a fourteen year old girl, right? Wrong! I could do this in my sleep! The problem is, Thursday night there is a ball. Security will be off the charts. Not only because the American Black President will be there but also the royal family. No children. Normally I can pass for 18-20 but any older I’m really pushing it. This time, I’m not going to be able to just walk in like I normally do with a fake ID and a formal dress. I’m going to have to be invisible to everyone there. So I was thinking, go in threw the vents, weasel into a locked elevator shaft, drop a couple stories, climb in some more vents, set off an alarm on the top floor, get the documents and get out. It’s a lot harder than most of my jobs, but it’s not the hardest. Besides, this man is offering half a million. With that I could- yeah, I don’t know what I could do it. Save it until I am out of school? Buy a private island with all the money I have in my “CollBuy a private island with all the money I have in my “College” saving account? Yeah, I don’t really know yet. Glancing at the clock and seeing it was 3:00, I grabbed my backpack and stood up just as the bell rang. I almost made it to the door before I heard Madam Beaumont’s high voice, screeching my name. “Atlanta! Atlanta!” Spinning around on my toes, I stared at her not attempting to hide my annoyance. “Yes?” I snapped. I was so tired of Madam Beaumont. She wouldn’t bother me near as much if she could learn how to keep her nose on her face instead of in my business. Somehow that seemed to be difficult for her. “Could your parents please come to the conferences tomorrow night? I’d very much like to speak with them,” she said taking a seat behind her wooden desk. Ugh, not this again! I rolled my eyes and tossed my backpack on the floor. “Madam, look. My parents work and they often can’t make it. Tomorrow Mom has a staff meeting and my father is talking to a client about aclient about a problem with their bank account. So don’t get your hopes up.” I knew she had more to say to me, but I grabbed my bag and got out of there. Man she annoyed me. Two buses and a long walk later, I made it home. A small cottage a few miles outside the city was my very first real home. First it was a shack with a broken window and the roof falling in. After my first real job and a hefty payment, I found some unofficial contractor to fix up my home. Amazing what people will do when you pay them ten grand in cash. It was small but it was home. I threw my backpack on the floor, and pulled out my 22 from underneath the couch cushions. Thursday was going to be a serious job, and if I got caught in that vault they aren’t going to hesitate to shoot me in the back a few dozen times. If I was going to do this job, I better get some target practice in. I stacked to hay bales and hung a target. It was a simple dart board design but it served its purpose. The Title is "If Robin Hood was a Woman, He'd Enjoy the Tights" In the first chapter Robin is talking about her most recent job and how she's going to do it, but when she actually goes to the Bank Ball she learns that she wasn't the only one the man hired for this job. He also hired a female grifter to get what he needs if Robin can't get it for him. Later Isabelle, the grifter, and Robin form a bond. For the first time Robin's not on her own and Isabelle is has someone to protect. A mother-daughter bond forms and it becomes dangerous when they get hired to con a mob. What do you think? Be brutal. more

Resolved Question: What do you think of my story?

Prologue If I told you I was a normal teenage girl from Atlanta, I would be lying. There’s really nothing “normal” me. At age six my parents gave me ten bucks to go into the grocery store and get a box of cereal. I bought the cereal and waited on the bench for two straight days, waiting for my parents to return. Resolved Question: What do you do if you have rude service?

I was at the mall and I ordered a coffee. As the worker was making my coffee, I asked him if making lattes was hard. I guess it was a silly question, but I was curious and I asked politely. He responded, What, you think this is hard or something? in a slightly harsh tone that implied I was somehow stupid. As he was finishing making my coffee, my friend showed up, and punched me in the arm to get my attention. I have told her many times not to do this. My patience had pretty much run out for the night anyway, and I snapped at her I don't like being touched. I later apologized to her, and we made up. Anyway, I should have been more specific-I should have said I don't like being punched, but I blurted out the bluntest response I thought of. Anyway, the worker said to me, You don't like being touched?, and gave me a really weird look. I thought this was rude of him, because, A. I wasn't talking to him, B. He was a stranger, so it wasn't his Business, and C. It seemed too personal a question to a customer. What should I have done? I just mumbled a response and left embarrassed. Should I have told the manager? more

Resolved Question: How many musicians and artists can you list who have performed with Michael Jackson?

Aside from Eddie Van Halen and Slash, who else can you name? True story. I was delivering furniture for a company called Homestead House. They were a high end furniture store.I was told that tomorrow I will get the San Ynez/ Santa Barbara run.Later that night I'm watching the Oprah interview of Michael Jackson and I told my mom "I have a sneaky suspicion I'm gonna be delivering furniture to Michael Jackson." The next morning at work I was told that I will be doing the Los Angeles run instead. I figured no big deal. We pull up to this high rise on Wilshire Blvd ( I think). My helper goes into the building to let the business know we're there and to find out where the furniture will go. I'm in the back of the truck untying the Oyster Sofa, Oyster Chair, ottoman,a glass and brass coffee table and 2 glass and brass end tables. My partner comes running to the back of the truck and goes "DUDE WE'RE DELIVERING TO MICHAEL JACKSON!!!!!!MJJ SERVICES IS MICHAELS OFFICE FOR ALL HIS CHARITY WORK!!!!! We grab some furniture and head in. Once I opened the door the first thing I saw was this huge painting of Michael being surrounded by all types of wild animals, tigers, lions etc. We deliver the furniture and Betty Bailey signs off. She was Michaels assistant in charge of his charity work. Bill Brayal gave us a tour of the office (he was Michaels head of security. The first time Michael got in trouble, he was the one who, if you found Bill, Michael was near by. After we left I pulled over to a pay phone and called my mom and told her that I just delivered to Michael Jackson (Even though Michael wasnt there) more

Voting Question: How can I ask this shy girl out for a coffee?

While I was at work I got approached by a very shy but cute girl. She was looking to buy a product. I had a lengthy discussion with her. The discussion was both business (sales because I am a sales rep) and non business (chatting in general) oriented; After I closed the sale I told her that I really enjoyed talking to her and told her that I would like to go for a coffee. She smiled and said yes (I don't know if she meant that yes or she got confused and embarrassed even though we chatted and laughed a lot during the sale). So I told her that I will be calling her to arrange something. One hour after she left the store she called me from home to ask about something in the service that I forgot to do so I told her that I will check it out and get back to her (By the way, this call was for sure a business call - it was not for flirting as she is really shy). After I finished working (@ 9 pm) I sent her a text message with an answer to her question and I also told her that I am free tomorrow and asked her if she would like to go for coffee. She replied to me with this message "Haha thanks =P would I what? tomorrow I have lunch plans, homework to catch up, and school.. Heavyday". I replied back to her saying its no problem and we can arrange it another time and that I will be calling her in two days. And that was it. The questions are: 1. Did I screw up on anything?? This is my first time asking girl out ever! 2. Do you think I can call her back to ask for coffee or what?? I don't want to look like a pushy guy or stalker. Can anyone advise me about my next move? Thanks a lot more

Voting Question: can any one write this email for me. i dont know how to write this email . this is from my business cls.?

You‘re the manager of the employee cafeteria at a printing company for many years the cafeteria has provided excellent service, offering breakfast from 7.00 to 8.30am and lunch from 11.00 am to 2.00 p.m it also service as a break room, selling coffee, soft drinks, and snacks all day. But the cafeteria is badly in need of modernization. Work is scheduled to begin next Wednesday. Naturally, the cafeteria will have to be closed while renovations are in progress. Employees will still be able to have lunch and breaks, however, because temporary facilities are being set up in room 101 of building B, a now –vacant area formerly used for storage. The temporary cafeteria will provide all the usual service except for breakfast. Obviously, employees need to know about the situation. Write and e-mail. more

Voting Question: Would you want to receive this gift? ...give this gift?

I'm about to move forward with my healthy gourmet gift basket business, and I'd like to know your thoughts - do I have a market? A fine selection of the following for eg.: tea, coffee, cookies, chocolates, all the pantry ingredients ie rice, beans, spices, sauces to make an Italian, Indian or Mexican meal, honey, pickles, antipasto, dried fruit, nuts - the selection goes on.... upon inspection you realize that all these goodies are all healthy -either low g.i., easy and slow to digest/process, gluten free, organic, sugar free, high protein, high fibre, low fat - whatever combo supports your healthy lifestyle. Your gift may also come with spa goodies, fruit, wine or gift certicates for in home services ie: cleaning co., mani pedi spa services, hair wash and set, btw: I'd like to offer useful containers ie: trays, boxes, bowls, hat boxes, decorative storage containers, white cake box towers and tote bags instead of the traditional baskets with the handles. What do you think? Would you want to receive this gift, give this gift? Your comments are appreciated. Thank you! Thanks so much for your answer and especially for the extra info and links - info is always good. more

Resolved Question: What is the first step to starting a restaurant?

Lets say I have this great idea... I am pretty sure it will be successful, kind of along of the lines of the Starbucks theme where customers don't mind spending $2.00 on a cup of coffee to feel 'pampered'. I have an idea, I have a name and just about all the 'ideas' in my head but I have no clue how I can actually start it. I have the money, the credit history and the time and effort needed, that's it. I have been working from home and selling online for 6 years now and would like to go into the food servicing business. If anyone could give me a few steps as to how to start a successful restaurant/cafe , that would be great - and I do mean very basic steps. If you could also give me a rough $$ estimate too on each step, that would be even better. Thanks a bunch - don't forget to look for me on the news :) Hehe.. more

Resolved Question: Do people hate Christians?

I recently became a Christian and am wearing a cross necklace a lot. People were pretty nice or normal to me before I started wearing the necklace. But now I see many people looking at my cross and then giving me dirty looks. They didn't look at me that way before. Some guys that used to smile at me now give me mean looks after they saw the necklace. Some other guys snickered at me the other day. Why are people treating me so differently now that I'm wearing this cross?...it's only a small one, not at all pretentious, and I'm minding my own business (studying in a coffee shop) when these people are reacting so negatively to me. My friend was studying with me the other day (she is not a Christian) and she noticed the difference, too. It's not in my head...but no...I'm not completely new to Christianity...I was a Christian..then stopped and then converted back again recently...I'm very logical, so no it's not in my head. Also, true followers of Jesus have unconditional love. It's sad that so many people misunderstand Christianity. I look for the love in people and have never assumed "persecution." I assume the best in people. I'm not assuming that people are "persecuting" me. I just wondered if they have a poor opinion of Christians since they gave me and my cross some nasty looks. Jesus loved everyone. Why do people assume that a follower of Jesus would be so hateful. I understand a little. One of my former friends "condemned" me for having gay friends, but not all Christians judge people and focus on "sin." But just b/c some people are judgmental, doesn't mean that all Christians are. Some Christians honestly want to choose higher by establishing a close relationship with God and focusing on spiritual things, like love, peace, service, family, etc. Why be afraid of a cross, which is so material and tiny?If so many people hate Christians, how can they truly be happy? As long as a person has hate in her heart, there can be no room for happiness.um, yeah...i did just ask this...but i'll ask it enough times to get better answers, because many of these seem bigoted more

Resolved Question: Where can I engage in exciting, pressing and intellectual current event discussions?

Where can I engage in exciting, pressing and intellectual current event discussions? I've worked in the financial services industry for the past 10 years and one of the greastest benefits was spending hours amongst like-minded people, who stay abreast of national and world ecomonic and political events. Now an owner of a one woman show business, I still crave regular discussion about macroeconomic events and the sharing of ideas and opinions. I've thought of places like starbucks or the book store during the day, but everyone seems to be wrapped up in their own activities at these places. ( Plus, I hate coffee!). Resolved Question: Pretty please, natives of Spanish?!?

''London is a very vibrant and modern city. It's also very multicultural with over 300 languages spoken every day! London is very successful city in business, finance and culture. Because of this, many celebrities live here. London is famous for fish and chips and it's miserable weather. However, in the last few years there were some very hot summers which attracted many tourists. Despite that, if you would like to come to London in Winter, remember to bring an umbrella! Also, there are many cafes, restaurants and coffee shops which offer a variety of delicious food, drinks and cakes. For example; 'Fire and Stone' in Covent Garden is always good if you and your family like to eat pizza. For more expensive food there is 'Las Iguanas' which offers South American food. The transport services in London are very quick but unfortunatly they are also very expensive! If you would like to know more about London Transport, you can call 020 7222 1234, 24 hours a day. Next, this city has many large shopping centres and markets where you can buy popular products. The most popular shops are Harrods and Selfridges but the prices are not cheap! On the other hand, there are a lot of tourist attractions. For example; children can visit London Zoo. Covent Garden is also a very nice place to visit in the evening because there are musicians and magicians and a lot of places to eat. It is very busy at night because of it's lively atmosphere. Camden Town is another place which you must visit! It is the crazy town! It has very exciting shops like 'Cyberdog' and 'Punkyfish', which are very popular for the youth. When you come to London you will find that the accomodation is really nice! There are a lot of large luxurious hotels but also smaller hotels which you can stay in. There are attractions like the National History Museum, London Dungeons and the London Eye which also will be fun and interesting. This year, Barack Obama experienced the London Eye and said that he really liked it. There is a very large park called Hyde Park. It is a very good idea if you want to have a calm day and enjoy a picnic or go on a boat rideI need it translated of course... more
