Reasons to be cheerful 1, 2, 3
The amiable entrepreneur has some interesting stories about his business, the computer firm he set up at 15 years of age, and other opportunities for fame and fortune.
One such opportunity was when Daniell made the shortlist of the final 40 or so candidates for the first series of BBC TV programme The Apprentice.
He says the decisions made during the final elimination day were based purely on the opinion of TV executives – and perhaps unsurprisingly, Daniell says the "noisy and obnoxious candidates" were selected.
But what of Sir Alan Sugar? He says the business tycoon was not involved in the initial selection process.
And would he have been keen on being Sugar’s apprentice? "I didn’t even know who he was," says Daniell – although the Fluidata chief admits that his mother once owned an Amstrad PC. more
Some risk taking 'good for young'
A leading entrepreneur has warned a 'cotton wool culture' is discouraging children from being innovative and taking measured risks.
Simon Woodroffe, founder of the YO! sushi chain and a star of the Dragons' Den BBC TV show, said youngsters needed to be instilled with a 'go for it' attitude and the desire to push boundaries. 'Helping children to experience risks in a managed way is not only key to their general development but also to bringing on the next generation of entrepreneurs,' he added. . moreBabbel Learns VC Language

. moreEntrepreneurship: Today!
In the past, many of the entrepreneurs in India came from business families and those traditionally in the business sector and not from the knowledge sector. The success of entrepreneurs in the IT (Information Technology) and ITES (IT enabled services) sectors has paved the way for others to follow and we find the spillover effect in other areas too. These range from education to health and fitness, from sports to art and culture, from bio technology to telecom, from retail to media, from security and risk management to... the list is endless! You then realize that there is obviously more to this wave of entrepreneurship in the country than meets the eye.
This is a healthy sign. For the country to get the next generation of globally competitive business successes, we need more companies across different industries, addressing different opportunities and verticals, providing solutions to address different customer pain points, meeting a variety of customers' needs. more

I am looking for a quality online university. I've been looking up Penn State online, Capella, University of Phoenix... I wish to go back to school, get an associate's in business. I am currently studying other courses from Gemological Institute of America, and my goal from that school is to earn the bachelor's of business. But in order to do that, I need an associate's in business. I am interested in business management, international business, marketing. I want something that will help me get into the Thunderbird School of Global Management. I was accepted into two graduate programs for International Business. One is the MBA program for Thunderbird (arizona) and the other is University of Maryland for a MIM (Master of International Mgmt). Both are basically business degrees, but I opting to do the programs ONLINE so I can stay with my job while I do them. I have been so stressed out over which program to choose. Thunderbird has an extremely good reputation, one of the best for international MBA, however is costs $75,000 for the program. The U of Maryland costs $18,000. I know thunderbird has a better reputation, but I am not sure bcs. I really dont know what I want to do when I graduate and I get really scared thinking about that humongous debt I will have. It really scared me, especially bcs. I am not sure what I will be doing afterwards and if I will be making alot of money. I am 31 years old, just dont know if I wnat to risk all that money. Any ideas? moreResolved Question: I'm thinking about applying to the International University of Japan for an MBA, good idea?
I want to work in Japan upon graduation, so I think this would be a great way to do that. Also the school seems to be very international, attracting students from all over the world and providing a curriculum with a global focus. The school seems comparable to Thunderbird or other internationally focused business schools. My biggest concern is if I ever leave Japan, will having an MBA from this school cause problems? It seems that if a school is accredited by certain groups, it doesn't matter. Example, London Business School. If I went there I know I wouldn't have a problem. Any information about the school, career opportunities, recognition, etc. would be helpful. moreResolved Question: Does any body know about Thunder bird school of international management at Glendale near Phoenix?
