Texas Business Tax Coalition seeks legislative relief on small
A small business advocacy group has been formed in Texas to push what it calls for legislative relief on a tax system that it claims is too burdensome on small business owners.
The Texas Business Tax Coalition is made up of the Texas chapter of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB/Texas), the Independent Electrical Contractors of Texas, the Air Conditioning Contractors of America Texas Chapter, the Associated Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors of Texas and the Texas Courier & Logistics Association.
The coalition's platform before the Texas Legislature includes:
Seeking an exemption from state tax liability for small businesses that are losing money or are marginally profitable; Raising the small-business exemption from $300,000 to $1 million; Lowering the margins tax rate by 50 percent for businesses with less than $20 million in gross receipts; Allowing deductions in the cost of employment for all contract labor used by Texas firms; Requiring a two-thirds vote of the Texas Legislature before the margins tax rate can be increased. moreIn dual roles, Baucom helps serves community's needs
She also serves as this year's Northwest Chamber of Commerce president and as a member of the Lambert Airport Rotary.Baucom, 49, finds the dual roles amazingly alike. Both involve meeting customers' or businesses' needs and giving back to the community."It's about giving back to the community where you live and work," she said.Kim Bakker, who serves with Baucom on both the Northwest County Chamber and the Lambert Rotary said, "It doesn't take long to see her commitment to the community. NRJ founder wants to boost core radio business -ppr
"High on the agenda is to revitalise our four radio networks, NRJ, Nostalgie, Cherie FM, and Rire et Chansons, which are the core of our business," Baudecroux said.
