SightMind Sets 'Focus' on Franchising
Leading the company's emergence onto the franchising scene, Rubin, a seasoned entrepreneur with four prior technology businesses under his belt, plans to grow the business from its home market in Northern California eastward across the country. With the networked video surveillance industry reaching a sustained 44-percent annual growth rate, the switch from ageing analog cameras to sophisticated networked security systems will further propel the segment's growth to new heights. The sophisticated, reliable IP-based digital surveillance systems are proven to reduce theft, vandalism and injury claims. System software delivers core business values such as locating parking spaces and reading license plates automatically, using a resolution 32-times greater than that of an average analog camera. more
Barcelona: A Rich Football Club with Good Intentions
Aston Villa announced that they would advertise Acorns Children's Hospice for the 2008/09 season - it is the first time a Premiership club has used a sponsor in this way.
Both clubs have received a lot of positive press following their decisions and many hope that others will follow in their footsteps and help those in society who most need it.
Despite the loss in revenue, both teams still have enough income to make big money signings to stay competitive in their respective leagues. Indeed, Barcelona remains one of the biggest clubs in the world and is constantly looking to challenge for the La Liga title and Champions League honours.
Recent stats show around 25% of Spain's population support the Catalan giants and millions more follow them around the world, often flying to the city and staying in hotels in Barcelona just to watch them play. more
Some risk taking 'good for young'
A leading entrepreneur has warned a 'cotton wool culture' is discouraging children from being innovative and taking measured risks.
Simon Woodroffe, founder of the YO! sushi chain and a star of the Dragons' Den BBC TV show, said youngsters needed to be instilled with a 'go for it' attitude and the desire to push boundaries. 'Helping children to experience risks in a managed way is not only key to their general development but also to bringing on the next generation of entrepreneurs,' he added. . moreLatest Business School Rankings Accounting News

Business School Rankings Accounting Questions asked
Resolved Question: U. of Maryland, College Park or Penn State- University Park?
I applied for Economics for both schools. I think I will probably enroll in official business programs like accounting and management later when I'm ready. I am also aware that both schools are excellent and obtain top rankings and their business department are no exemption. So are they considered public ivies? Which school has a better financial and historic reputation, since I'm an out-state for both? How about the job opportunities in the surrounding areas? Which school is more challenging to get into with their rankings? And their faculties? Thanx! moreResolved Question: What university in Texas would you recommend?
My family is moving to Texas and I am currently a student at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I'm about to be a sophomore, double majoring in accounting and financing. My GPA is a 3.69 right now. I'll start school in Texas my junior year. I've looked at different rankings on the schools in Texas and the ones highest ranked for business seem to be UT-Austin, Texas A&M, UT-Dallas, and other private schools. I would rather go to a public school and save some money for my family. Which school would you recommend? I'm leaning towards UT-Dallas because it's near lots of businesses in Dallas and might open doors beacause of that. Thank you for the help!! (: moreResolved Question: Choosing a college/university?
Is northeastern a good business school? I noticed it dropped 8 places this year in business week's rankings. I am also thinking of applying to Bentley but the student body doesn't seem that diverse. I also hate the fact that they want you to take 50% LA classes and 50% business classes. So I don't really think it's a fit for me but I'm having trouble deciding on what schools to apply. My plans at the moment are to major in accounting or finance and try and land a job at one of the Big 4 accounting firms or if I major in finance get a job as an analyst. I also want to go to grad school once I can apply. My gpa is a 3.57 and after this semester I'm hoping to get it up around a 3.7. I'm involved in the economics club at my school and we won the fed challenge this year for community colleges. What business schools do I have a shot at getting into? I am also leaning more towards a college located in a major city if it helps any.My family doesn't have much money either. What schools are the best at giving out grants and scholarships? I don't mind paying some of the schooling with loans. But I honestly don't feel I should be in debt 50k+ dollars because I work hard at my studies and we don't have much money. moreResolved Question: I am a transfer student and cant decide between university of Florida and Northeastern University.
