Hey guys.. I need your help.. I live in AR, and I am looking for grad school that offers Management of Information System Program. So apparently, instead of Computer Science department, It is included in Business department. So far I have had two in my mind.. University of Arkansas in LR and Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. I don't have geographic preference as long as I can pursue my academic career. FYI: This is my senior year, and I'm an international student. My major is information technology with GPA of 3.56. I will be done with my undergrad by fall 2010 and I am one semester ahead (3.5 years). Funding would be my biggest concern since I will have to self support. I am looking for a school that can get my an assistantship. I have been working in technology field for almost 3 years since my freshman year, so I have quite a bit of both technical and customer relation experience. Please help. Thank you! :) moreOpen Question: Business schools in northeast u.s.?
I am looking for business schools in the northeast u.s. or anywhere in that area (like new york or pennsylvania). They do not have to be strictly business schools, they can be schools that have decent business programs. I don't care how large or small the school is, or if it's in a rural area or city, as long as it's not too exclusive (less than a 40% admission rate). I am just looking for a large list to start off with and then I will narrow it down from there. Thanks for your answers. moreOpen Question: UPenn Transfer Fall 2010?

I'm currently working full-time,doing my master's part time and dealing with family members and financial problems and trust me, it's sh!t. Anyway, I've been experiencing this sharp intense pain in my chest area and one day I just blacked out. I visited the doctor and he told me all this stress is affecting the speed I break down lactic acid, and that my body is telling me I'm just not able. I've already completed one and a half years of the master's program, and have 2 years to go, but if my health is being affected, should I quit. He told me I should switch to something easier than the engineering, and do something like business. I said that no college degree is really that easy, and he said,'Trust me, the business master's will be easier than the master's in engineering, and that I should get real'. I've visited two other doctors, and they've also said that my body just can't deal with all this stress at once. Obviously, I'm going to continue going to school and working, since I'm sure there are people doing the same and succeeding and I don't want to waste this opportunity, but if my health is being affected, is it worth it. God, it's always something isn't it! What do I do? I just don't wanna feel like a failure, you know! moreOpen Question: can someone answer this question about Baruch?
i plan on doing my graduate years in the Zincklin school of Business, i want to know what is the required GPA to get into the business Program, i looked online but i cant find anything. moreOpen Question: Is grad school an option for a person with a low gpa?
I graduated 3 years ago with a BA in Sociology and minor in Poli Sci. I graduated with a 2.0. Prior to graduating I managed a fast food restaurant. I continued to do so for another 2 years upon graduating. Unfortunately, when I decided to do something in my field the economy went down hill and the job market became a lot more competitive. My steady job, in the restaurant business, was now working against me. I had no experience in the private sector. Now here I am 3 years later, not able to find a decent job(the restaurant was sold & have not been able to get another good paying job), and still no experience in my field. I would like to go back to school to get a Master's Degree. My two main problems is a) I graduated with a very low gpa. 2.0. b) money. My question is: is it possible to get accepted into any Grad programs with a low gpa (2.0) in the state of Florida? Do I need to take some undergrad classes to increase my chances? Any legit advice will be well appreciated. moreOpen Question: Help getting into a good college....?
Hi! I have a couple of questions about getting into college/etc, and any advice would be great. Anyways, I'm really driven and motivated to go to a great college (like one of the Ivy Leagues (Princeton is my dream), MIT, Caltech, Stanford, UC Berkley...etc). I'm only a freshman in high school right now, but I'm still worried about what I should do over the next four years to have a greta chance at these schools. Just to give you some background info about myself, I have a 4.0 GPA and am currently enrolled in all of the hardest classes my school offers to freshman (honors english, honors global studies, honors algebra 2, health, band, spanish 2, phys ed, and biology), and plan to take a pretty rigorous schedule over the next four years (I plan to take two or three APs next year as a sophomore, and then 5 my junior year and 5 my senior year). For extracurriculars, I am in the band and am planning on trying out for drum major (highest position in band-but I really don't think I can make it because it is mostly a popularity contest at my school), and I play the piano and participate in yearly Guild competitions and plan to get a piano high school diploma. Also, I play the flute and am going to try to get into my all-state band the next few years. I also participate in a few clubs at my school-I am in the math and UNICEF club, but I don't really participate much in these and kind of just go to meetings for the heck of it. I am also an officer (VP) in a CSF (California Scholarship Federation) club and plan to hold this position throughout high school. Lastly, I am part of my school's DECA program (a business club), and am doing pretty well in it-this past year I placed 1st at the norcal competition, 2nd at the state competition, and qualified to go to internationals this april, which is pretty cool seeing as I'm the only freshman that qualified to go from my state this year. I hope to eventually become president of one or more of those clubs, and am also considering running for a state DECA officer my sophomore or junior year. Test score wise, I took the SAT in the 8th grade (when I was 12!) and got a 1900-this was purely for practice and doesn't count for anything, but just letting you guys know. I hope to get above a 2300 when I take it for real my junior year. Also, I took the ACT (once again just for practice) this past February and got a 33 composite with a 10 on the essay. So, basically my question is, am I on the right track to get into the prestigious schools I mentioned above? Do I have an okay chance seeing where I am right now as a freshman? Also, what would you recommend I do over the next four years in high school to give myself a really good chance of getting into my dream school? (what should my GPA be, how many APs should I take, what SAT/ACT scores would I need, what extra currics should I have, etc) Thanks for the advice! moreOpen Question: Visa COS & Resignation while on H1....?
I am in the US on an H1B with an IT services firm from India... i recently got into a Masters program and want to pursue it by applying for a Visa COS... However, due to tight time lines, I will be able to give my employer only 2-3 weeks notice... They had made me sign a contract in India, which says that I have to serve a 3 Month notice when the assignment ends, or when I reach back home & train staff on any knowledge I gained... OR I have to pay for business/opportunity losses... Please suggest how to go Resignation and COS, as it is an IVY league school I am talking about here, I still have to apply for COS and my Program starts mid of May... Thanks in advance... moreOpen Question: I thinking about changing my major, Advice?
I'm currently a psychology major, it's ok, i don't hate it, just don't love it. Ever since i could remember I have always, like seriously, been absolutely fascinated with the universe. Like: planets, stars, space (space-time), how everything is moving. and how this all affects us, etc... In high school I did extremely well in math, made a 4 on the calculus ap exam (the only ap course my school could afford), and i really love numbers, i actually find myself missing my math classes and this semester i even i took a logic (not exactly like math, but close) course just to get the rush again. but i am so far invested in my major that i am unsure about making the change. What makes me think about it even more a few months ago i looked at my roommate and best friend a psychology major who loves psychology and has books about that stuff and then me, I have almost the entire "A very short intro series" on anything dealing with physics, 3 books by Stephen Hawking (though 2 are very similar), and countless little "finds". If I do change, I can see myself dabbling more in astrophysics definitely more theoretical then applied. I never thought about it as a major in high school, no one even mentioned science to me or any of the other females in Honors program. it was always business, nursing, or psychology/sociology or some other soft science, so i didn't think it could be taken seriously. My sister asked me a while ago why I didn't major in it (she's at a different high school and coming to my university next year), and that's when i begin to really think about it. I just thought it was like just some other thing i really liked. And then of course there's the time and money. And I am pretty sure physics not a field that pays well either so i need to take that into consideration. Any advice I'm just unsure, this is the rest of my life, after all. I am a junior, rising senior, yeah I know =( moreOpen Question: college/university choice help?!?!?
im a junior in high school and i want to major in either business marketing or business finance in college. im looking foward to going to rutgers brunswick because its conviently located right near me and i know several students attending this school. first of all, should i try getting into the business school, or school of arts/sciences as a freshman? my highschool gpa is about 3.4 or 3.5 and the problem im worried about is that i never had any honors classes in my high school career yet, though im thinking bout takin a couple next year. ive taken taken algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, english 1, english 2, english 3, world cultures, us history 1/law, us history 2/economics, integrated science, biology, chemistry, graphic arts, and several culinary courses in highschool so far. i am planning to take business organization/management, entrepreneurship, personal finance, marketing, trigonometry/pre-calc, english 4, and physics next year as a senior. another problem i am facing is i failed algebra 2 last marking period (2) because my teacher is the biggest bitch ther is. first marking period i got about and 81 or 82 in that class. i usually get high C's to low A's in my classes. if i try then id actually be really smart. i tend to take major exams like finals and midterms and hspa's and SAT's seriously. i just took the SAT's last saturday on March 13th 2009 and ill get my scores back on April 1st. i plan to take the SAT again in june. i also plan on applying to NJIT. i want to get my masters in business and rutgers is a better school than NJIT plus rutgers has a 5 year degree program if i get into the business school. moreOpen Question: Should i go to College Park or Towson? (As a transfer student)?
I was excepted into college park for the fall of 2010, and i have to decided whether or not to transfer. See i currently attend Towson as a sophomore. I like Towson but i feel like i have been blessed with this opportunity to go to the best public school in MD and i should probably take it. so what would u do in my situation? Some other considerations: I'm in the honors program at Towson, i plan on going to grad school after undergrad (maybe law school or business school), i have friends at both schools, my major is business, and i want to join a frat as a college student and the ones at Towson don't appeal to me (i.e. the hazing is too intense). Thank you for any advice! God Bless moreOpen Question: Undergraduate Studies in Germany?

Hi, I'm a freshman in high school in US (Los Angeles, California) and I'm aiming for top universities like Harvard, MIT, Stanford, etc. I am taking all the advanced classes I can and receiving top grades, and I want to get new experiences this summer at educational camps. I took the PSAT and received offers to go to summer school at Brown University, Oxford/Cambridge Prep Program, National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC), and Academy of Business Leadership. I researched these programs and asked my counselor about them, but I'm having a hard time deciding which to choose. I will have to pay tuition and transportation myself plus non-refundable registrations fees ~$500 each. My family's not very rich even though we can afford them, but I want to make sure they are worth it and hope to get scholarships when available. If you can please take a minute and help me it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED, seriously. If you have personal experience to share that would be AWESOME. Here's a brief description of the programs. Brown University in Rhode Island offers a lot of courses on their campus and the tuition is ~$2000 a week. There's basically every subject imaginable to choose from. The deadline for scholarships is already past. The Oxford/Cambridge Prep Programs will be held on the respective campuses in UK and it's ~4 weeks for $6895. You choose a major and a minor to study, kind of like in college. Scholarships application also ended. NSLC has a site at UC Berkley which is ~5 hrs away from me. Classes are more focused on business, law and medicine. It's ~2500 for 10 days and scholarships applications are due March 26. Academy of Business Leadership's program Summer Business Institute (SBI) has various college campuses close to me so it is most convenient. The 7 week program cost ~$5500, 4 week ~$3700, I don't think there is a choice of courses. Scholarship deadline unknown. I believe the UK experience would probably be most fun/interesting and look best on paper or something, and the SBI program is probably most convenient. There is, of course, no guarantee that I will get in any of them, though I did receive invitations. If you have any thoughts about them, PLEASE share them with me. I'm not sure which one to go to, if any, is it too early or too overrated? Again, any help would be appreciated. I didn't expect my question to be this long, sorry but thanks in advance!I haven't decided my major in college or what my career will be. I'm thinking Psychology, but it's not my focus yet. I think business related knowledge will be useful in life anyway, and all the programs offer that. moreResolved Question: I dont know what I want to be :(?
I want to work in the medical field as a Doctor, I want to conduct research and make medical breakthoughs but I also want to own my own businesses or run a large corporation I founded etc... I know these are big goals but I know for a fact that I want to achieve both in my life. I dont even know where to start... Well I know school comes first but once I get my degree in philosophy and get accepted into medical school(getting 100% of my tuition paid by the united states army's HPSP program) I dont even know what type of doctor I want to be. I know for a fact I want to get paid well even though its not about the money I want a comfortable lifestyle and I dont want to be on call 24/7 etc... I want to be able to work and own a business... Im so worried that time is slipping past me... moreOpen Question: For all you active or retired navy soldiers: is the navy right for me?
Okay, so Im interested in joining the US Navy and I was wondering if some of the answers to the questions I asked my recruiter were accurately rendered. So to all you people who are currently enlisted in the navy or have been I'd appreciate what your experience has shown you to be true concerning the matters I'm about to cover. Based on my personal characteristics and goals, do you believe joining the navy would be in my best interest? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. So to start, here is a little background on me. I am 23 years old trying to get my bachelors degree in business administration, more specifically a focus in entreprenuership or small business management. I have about 2.5 years left before I graduate and I wish to complete my bachelors degree debt free, taking 15 credit hours per semester untill I finish and then hopeful move on to an MBA program. Now, from what my recruiter tells me, the most amount of time I would expect to be out to sea is about 6 months - during my entire 4 year naval career - depending on what job I qualify for. What concerns me is whether or not I will have the time to complete a degree in the time I am with the navy. Since, from what I understand, when on shore I will be working 8 hour days, when off shore, fitting in school once traveling can be difficult to do. How accurate is my understanding of the dailey time committment? In otherwords will I be out to sea on only one rotation, or can the navy basically ship me out whenever they want and where ever they want, for how ever long they want without a moments notice? I personally dont want to take all of my classes online and wish to take my core classes at an accredited land based university that I would be required to physically attend... Plus I dont want to exit the navy after my four year term with no college degree because I was out to sea most of the time... My recruiter explained it to me as I would be be working mostly 9am-5pm, monday-friday leaving my evenings open for school and weekends... Also would I only be expected to actively serve 4 years, of an 8 year contract. How true is what he explained to me? As I mentioned earlier, finishing my degree is of most importance to me. I like the fact that I wouldn't have to worry about the financial aspects of school while in the navy, but I want to be sure I wont have a hard time of prioritizing my degree because of factors outside my own control, like being shipped off to bumb fucking egypt for 12 months, or having to work crazy hours and so forth. Keep in mind if I stayed in the civilian sector taking 15 credit hours per semester I could have a degree in 2.5 years, but most likely with debt :(. So what should I do? Join or not? Will I be able to complete a degree and be fully fuctional in my roll with the navy? Thanks! moreOpen Question: democracy , globewide is@ a condition of stroke, & same may be paralised if due care is not taken by people:ok?

I'm a sophomore in college who has been studying business for a few semesters, and I just declared my major to Accountancy (I start the upper-division track next Fall). Accounting is pretty neat, at least I think so based off of the two lower-division classes I've had so far, and I had been considering myself pre-law so it seemed to be a nice fit since I don't think I could see myself doing accounting work for the rest of my life. This semester though I'm currently enrolled in a law course - actually offered through the law school of my university, comprised of mostly law students and a few undergrads (some special honors program or something) and I'm not really liking it. I like the discussion part of the class, but the reading of the text is kind of dull. I'm also in an Anatomy class this semester, which I took because I've always been somewhat interested in Nursing and things like that, but couldn't switch my major without having to stay longer than four years (on a scholarship, not a good idea). Well it turns out that this has been my favorite class, ever, since starting college, high school... we got to work with a cadaver last Thursday and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. So I think I might actually want to do pre-med. I'm not completely sure about it though :/ ANYWAY. My university recommends about fifteen "pre-med" classes, which I could take on top of my Accounting major (might have to stay an extra semester or two, still not sure about that). Would med schools not take me seriously if I majored in Accounting, and got a certificate in LGBTQ Studies, which seem to hint more toward law school, but still take the required classes? Since this is all a relatively new idea I'm sure about anything of this or what needs to be done. I might try to volunteer at a hospital or something. Ideally, I think I might want to be an obstetrician. moreOpen Question: Help me save for college!?
Hey everyone, I signed up for this program where online shoppers help me save for college. This works because the companies participating in this program with UPromise [as Victoria's Secret, Barnes and Nobles, Best Buy, Apple, etc] donate a certain percentage of your purchase to an account I created to save for college. I am going to be attending NYU Stern School of Business this fall. I have no college savings due to the fact that my family was hit hard by the economic recession. We had to use my college savings to help pay the debts that it created. Any help is appreciated! Through this program you have access to special coupons and discounts, as well! Thanks! i have met the man of my dreams, my boyfriend, and we are planning on getting married. he keeps telling me that he is waiting on me to get married and me to start a family. i am in school, in a dental hygiene program that will end next may. i decided that exactly one year form now we can try concieving. i don't do pregnancy well and get VERY ill, so i am not going to mess up my schooling when i could wait a few months. financially it makes more sense for the both of us. i would prefer to be married first since i already have one child out of wedlock (him as well). i know we will be together, it is just a promise i made to myself that i would like to try to keep, and i do not want to be married while preggo. the whole marriage thing comes into play because if we marry now, i will lose my finacial aid and all other aids i am given.because it is a full time program i am unable to work and living off loans. i am getting governement assistance from my apartment, to food to almost everything. (trust me, they will make it all back and then some when i am out of school!) he is a stuggling business owner and i don't think we are financially ready. what should i do? i am the kind of girl who just wants to get a nice dress and head to the court house with our best friends, and then have a reception with all our friends and family. he however wants a big wedding. we somehow compromised on vegas, so it will be small and invite our close friends and family. something small, short and most of all relaxing and fun! what should i do? moreOpen Question: What Colleges should i Reply to?

I want to apply next year to a business school, but I don't know which one is right for me. I am not that rich so I do not believe that i could afford Wharton or Stern. " Background Information>>"....I am a middle aged single woman. I have worked most of my adult life in the food industry in some area or another. Bakery was the hardest. I was going to try something unrelated... towards attending school for Esthetician..to work in a Day Spa.. however.. reading many blogs.. many are not finding work. The school cost 10 grand.. and you work on straight commission, It takes years they say to build a client book.. and I wouldn't be able to go it alone .. until I get enough money and clients to do so. Besides that.. not finding work may help me to go homeless.lol..Well.. could. The Spas expect you to bring in all the work.. and yet..your not allowed to bring the clients with you when you leave. I thought this would be less strenuous work physically on me and my body.. however.. if I can't find work or much of it.. the school won't want to wait for re paying the loan that long. This woman in CA said on a Spa Blog.. that she can't find work and wish she never did it now.. because she is in debt. However.. I read that the spa industry has not been affected that much or hard yet. But.. that must mean those already in it.. not recent grads.. At a Community College here .. they have a program for one year for a food production or prep.. towards becoming a cook, assistant cook or grill cook.. When I worked at a hotel these people made a decent.. wage and received benefits.. working nights .. is good because I am a night owl.. I would have a steady stream of income.. which would allow me to continue my schooling during the days.. for an associates in Culinary. What do you all think .. why / why not? Also.. They say food and medical are the two main areas in any recession that would never suffer because people need both areas ... and food is a necessity.. luxury services are not.. Should I not allow my middle age to deter me? I love to cook.. I am a foodie.. I am a good cook. moreVoting Question: Is it easy to get a 3.6 GPA Freshman year in college?
OK two questions: I am going to Texas A&M but got rejected from the Mays Business School, can I still major in business without actually being in "the business school?" (May seem like a stupid question). And.... Is it easy to get a 3.6 in the freshman year of college if I study and don't mess around (that's what I need to get into the A&M Business program). I got a 4.0 GPA in high school to describe what kind of student I am. - Thanks for the help! moreOpen Question: Please help ! I'm really confused about my future...?
Hello, I'm currently a freshman in high school and I've been thinking a lot of what I'm going to do/ be in the future. We're currently picking electives for sophomore year and I'm really confused about my future aspirations. My Interests - I've actually been interested in the health care field. What I was planning to do through out high school was stock up on science classes/math classes, take an academy class relating to the medical field, etc. But recently I'm not sure about going into the health care field (pediatrics or neurology interest me the most). The thing I am really worried about is the amount of debt you’re going to get to after med school (for pediatricians the average is about $95,000) Actually starting to work seems just so far away. :/ I’m also interested in computers/technology/ and business somewhat. I’m actually really good with computers. I was able to make a webpage (though a bit average) by seventh grade. Business is okay in my book. I still need to explore through that. Oh yes, and about electives. I need advice on how I want to order it around. So far, I’ve chosen Programming (but we’re allowed to change). I wanted to take Orchestra for the last three years of High School but I feel like I NEED a computer class to get me through the year. (We only get 2 electives and Spanish is already taking one) I’m currently taking private lessons, but I don’t want to just have lessons for only 30 minutes, once a week. I was thinking about joining a Youth Orchestra, but my parents aren’t willing to drive me and/or pay for me. They said to just take the course at school =-=. I’m definitely taking it Junior Year though since there’s an extra elective slot. I really want to join an orchestra sophomore year though. In the future, I want to live a very good life, with a nice family, and a great salary (what everyone basically wants). I just can’t seem to pick one interest to stick to. How can I narrow it down to just one? Please help me, I’m really confused And thanks to all who endured through my long post! moreVoting Question: Easy Business ideas for kids?

I have a bachelors in biology but want to get into medical sales. I thought if I got into a minor or certificate in business from a school that also would allow me to do an internship, I could definetly increase my chances of getting a job in medical sales. My question is whether I can get a minor since I already graduated. My other question is whether a certificate program in business would require a business background as my understanding was that a certificate means you already have experience in that field, which I dont. moreResolved Question: What are the chances of me being accepted to UC Berkeley Haas MBA program?
I'm planning on applying for the financial engineering MBA program at UC Berkeley Haas Business school. I was wondering, what are the chances of me getting accepted? I go to San Francisco State University (somehow it's a tier 1 school), double major in corporate finance and financial services, 3.2 overall GPA, 3.4 major GPA, and 790 on the GMAT. I realize that SF state isn't an impressive school and my GPA is kind of low, but since I did well on the GMAT, I was wondering if that could make up for my GPA. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! moreOpen Question: Universities/colleges in ontario or michigan?
I want to go to a universities/colleges in ontario or michigan, Im trying to find one with a good music program i'd need to study recording engineering, and audiovisual technology, and probably something with business and accounting OR somewhere with a good art and media program. Also, what course and grades would I need to have in high school. moreVoting Question: Help choosing business school/MBA in Los Angeles area!?
Hi! So, I am thinking about applying to business school, and since I am a resident of L.A., that narrows my choice to only a few: UCLA, USC, Pepperdine, and CSUN. Okay, let me be straight. My undergrad GPA was a 2.9, and I don't have a year to devote to studying for the GMAT, so I think UCLA and USC are a long shot. Pepperdine (to me at least) seems like a decent, albeit 'Tier 2' school. It's the school everyone goes to when they can't get into UCLA or USC MBA program. Pepperdine is pretty damn expensive, about the cost of USC for being a Tier 2 school, in my opinion. Anyone have any advice on where I should apply? I would like to start soon, and dam USC and UCLA make you apply in the Fall for round 1 and if accepted, you don't attend until the following year. What a joke. Anyone have good or bad things to say about either UCLA, USC, pepperdine, or CSUN for an MBA? Thanks! moreResolved Question: Work experience in IT?
I really want to go into a career in IT, probably along the lines of web delvelopment or programing. I would really love to gain some work experience, and i have been looking into it, but im finding it really hard to find suitable places Obviously Im not asking for people to offer me placements, but i am interested to know what sorts of IT work experience placements other people have been on? are you glad you did it? please help! the other thing, is would it be better to approach smaller IT businesses or IT departments of larger companies? I dont have much experience (im still at school) which is something else im worried about if you can shed any light on this at all i would be really greatful! thank you moreResolved Question: can i persue two different degrees from two different universities both being corresspondance?
namely school of open learning under DELHI UNIVERSITY ENGLISH HONOURS and BACHELOR OF BUSINESS APPPLICATION under AMITY UNIVERSITY under their distance learning(onlione) programme moreOpen Question: Help from career experts..Would a career change to programming or supply chain management a good move now?
I'm 32 have a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering which was a nightmare for me. I do take pride having an Engineering degree and I did benefit from studying engineering in many aspects, but civil was/is the last thing I ever wanted to do.it's a long story why did I take (forced into) that stream and why didn't I change earlier... we're today now.I 've a degree that I know for sure I cannot make use of it. in one semester i had an introductory course in programming (C++) and found myself very interested. also after graduation I took an introductory course in Visual Basic and again found myself very interested. I know they were only an introduction but I enjoyed solving assignments and how I'd try to write the code using the knowledge that I learned and try to reach a solution to the problem given the limited features I learned about the language. Perhaps because of my eternal love to mathematics, in a way, I felt programming is very related to mathematics. trying to think logically but at the same time creatively. Now looking at the economy and having many computer science graduates not finding jobs or being laid off, will I be competent enough with only a college diploma as I can't afford right now to pursue a 4 yr bachelor degree. (money, age , family).. Another thing I was thinking of is going into business maybe it has more career opportunities. but having an engineering background, I may not have what it takes to get into business studies as, from my point of view, it needs a different personality someone talkative, good in arguments, has good writing and memorizing capabilities while I can only think numbers or in a mathematical logic. I know accounting does have numbers. but I was thinking of merging business and programming when I was first introduced to ERP and supply chain management in a lecture I attended long time ago that was held by an Oracle professional (forgot to mention I took oracle developer course too) . he claimed that this path is promising now more than programming ( even more than the oracle developer path he was teaching us!!) I'm really confused...don't know what to do or what to choose. Forget about my Eng. degree. I'm not going down that path. I ended up accepting a call centre job where they only need someone with high school qualifications!!! Any experienced help and advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my long question and for any sincere advice. moreVoting Question: What is the reputation of the University of Pennsylvania?
I'm looking for a school that has a god psychology/ humanities program, but also has a respectable business program as well. I googled the reputation and couldn't find anything. Is it liberal? Conservative? Party School? Good for Business? Other suggestions for other prestigious colleges with my requirements? Thank you so much! moreResolved Question: Chances of getting a full scholarship?
Okay so due to my family's financial situation I pretty much need a full ride to get to college (apart from loans which we would rather stay out of). I'm a sophmore and so far: Class rank: Top 5% GPA: 3.69 Weighted GPA: 4.4 I'm in AP Calculus I (other honors classes include Spanish III, English, and World History.) One was a paid job (~40 hours), another counted for 18 hours of community service. -Plans: I'm going to take AP Calculus II either next year or senior year. I'm going to do partial of the IB Program: Biology, Math Studies, Spanish, Physics. I'm applying for NHS next year and the year after. I will easily make All-Region either this year or next year. My HS coach believes I am a future All-State player. I got mine. Dear Resident: About one week from now, you will receive a 2010 Census form in the mail. When you receive your form, please fill it out and mail it in promptly. Your response is important. Results from the 2010 Census will be used to help each community get it's fair share of government funds for highways, schools, health facilities, and many other programs you and your neighbors need. Without a complete, accurate census, your community may not receive its fair share. Thank you for your help. Sincerely, Robert M. I graduated college almost a year ago now (Spring 2009), and I haven't had any luck landing jobs in my field. I moved back home with my parents in October and have been holding 2 jobs in retail ever since. My hometown is extremely rural and doesn't have a lot of international business opportunities (which is what I studied). I'm going crazy.. there is nothing to do here, and I feel like I'm just wasting time that I should be networking. My parents won't let me move out until I have a full-time job offer, but I am considering up and moving somewhere. I feel like if I was in a city it would help my job prospects instead of applying in a small town hundreds of miles away. If I moved somewhere, I could at least work in customer service until that full-time job opportunity comes up. I feel like it's just a waste being here at 22, when I should be out starting a life of my own. I know I am not going to get a job just sitting here. I have been accepted into a few graduate programs out of state beginning in the fall, which my parents see as a waste of time, but I know it will open a lot of doors. What should I do? Should I just pick a place and move there?? Still apply for jobs through my computer in a hick town while working in retail? Go to grad school and take out loans? Ugh it is so frustrating, and I am getting tired of living with my parents and being in the middle of nowhere. moreResolved Question: Should I get a second Bachelor's or a Master's?
I have a Bachelor's in Business from 1998. I went back to school and got an Associates in Computer Information Systems in 2009. Upon graduation I got hired in the software department as an Engineer for a government contractor. Great job and benefits. However to move up the ladder and apply for promotions I have to have an Engineering or Comp Science 4 year degree. I found a Master's degree in Computer Science but am worried I will be in over my head. I also found a program in Information Technology that will take my undergrad credits and allow me to get another Bachelor's degree in 10 classes. Money is not the issue as I have tuition reimbursement...however, it would be an issue if in my Master's I do struggle and don't get at least a B. Any help would greatly be appreciated. moreResolved Question: Should I do a Business + Graphic Design major (5 years), a GD major + Bus minor, or a Bus major + GD minor?
Doing a major & a minor would take only 4 years. The thing is, I love Art and am relatively good at it, but I also want to start a business. The college that I'm going to has a strong Business school & Entrepreneurship program. So do you think I should do the extra year & double majoring in GD & Business? What would you do? Thanks. moreResolved Question: whats the best way to start a small business?

I go to a college preparatory school, and I want to go to MIT for undergraduate college. I had a 3.3 GPA in my freshman year, and was in Algebra I reg, Geography reg, English reg, biology reg, Spanish 1 reg, and physical education. Over the summer I did volunteer work at a camp for mentally handicapped children in South Florida. In my sophomore year I took Latin I H, Acting I H, English 10 reg., Chemistry H, Algebra II H, and World History H. and got a weighted 4.1 (unweighted 3.7). Over the summer and during the year I worked with a mentor on a research project (he is MIT alumni and will right my letter of recommendation), I took a summer pre-calc, geometry, and online health class, and worked at the camp again. My sophomore year, I scored a 34 on the ACT and 2250 on the SATs, i got National Merit Scholarship with my PSAT scores, I took two SAT subject tests (math and science) and aced both. I worked with my mentor again and was a semifinalist in a local science fair. I helped establish a robotics club at my school, and was a part of Future Business Leaders of America club. In eleventh grade i took an independent case study program as an elective, Latin on FLV (an online class), Spanish II H, English 11 H, Chemistry AP, Physics B AP, Calculus AB, US History AP. I got a weighted GPA of 4.8, Unweighted 4.0. Over the summer i took multiple college classes in science and robotics, continued my volunteer job, and went to the MIT RSI summer program for six weeks. In 12th grade I am taking the Independent case study elective, Latin III of FLV, Spanish III H, AP English Literature, Physics C, Calculus BC, Statistics, gov/eco AP. and have a 4.9 weighted or 4.0 unweighted. moreResolved Question: Psychologist, LCSW or LMHC?
I am 40 and looking to change my career drastically. I am thinking about becoming a counselor and i am completely confused. I had two BA's Management and accounting, about 2.5 GPA (did raise kids and work while i was at school), and I am thinking about a grad program but unsure of which is best. I want to counsel adults, i have allot of business experience so career and personal would be my best field but what degree path to take. Please help as most jobs ask for either a LCSW or LMHC and from what i can tell if I go with the psych i will have to go on for my PsyD or PhD. Thank you in advance I really need guidance, and I do have a couple of appointments with an LCSW and LMHC to talk about their careers and education but would love lots of advise.Thank you Naguru, but i asked the question for "To know that you do not know is the best." Tao Te ChingSonar: Thank you! moreVoting Question: Idea's on which nursing track to follow.....?
I'm currently attending a University and was going to enter the BSN program. However, now that I have applied I am kind of worrying that I may not get in this semester due to being like 4 points below the normal cut-off (they do usually go below the cut-off but its not 100% certain they will or how far down they will go). I was not worried before because my advisor always told me I shouldn't have a problem getting in but now I'm being told I may be a couple points to short. Me and my husband talked and at first I had decided I would just stay at the school and start some of the nursing classes that I can take without being in the program and a few other classes I would like. However, I am now thinking of just going to a different school. Now these are my options if I don't get in the BSN program (which is 5 semesters). I could go to the local college and enter their RN program for 5 semesters and then go back to the university and do 2 semesters for their RN - BSN program. This way will take just 1 extra semester compared to if I just wait an extra semester to reapply for the BSN program and during that last 2 semesters I could be working. My second option is to go to the local college and do the LVN program (which is 1 year), then do the LVN to RN program (which is also 1 year) but be working while I do this program, then go to the university and do the RN to BSN program for 2 semesters. I've already put a lot of time into college (as I did business for 2 years then switched to nursing and have been doing those core classes for 3 semesters now) and kind of think its stupid to forget all about that to do an LVN course but I could be working faster and I would still need all those credits for the future classes (the RN and BSN programs). I'm just wanting to know if it were you which option would you choose? moreTop Business School Programs Links
