Back To Business
But while Obama may have been all business today, he took the opportunity on Sunday to evaluate last week's tour, defending himself against criticism that it was "audacious" of him to travel abroad in the middle of a general election campaign.
"I basically met with the same folks that John McCain met with after he won the nomination," he said, adding that the Arizona senator had also made trips to Mexico, Canada and Colombia "and nobody suggested that that was 'audacious.'"
"Now, I admit we did it really well," he went on to say. "But that shouldn't be a strike against me."
The foreign swing was an important one for the first-term senator, meant to burnish his foreign policy credentials and show American voters that he could hold his own on the world stage. more
CBRE-Dallas names managing director of institutional business
The commercial real estate services firm CB Richard Ellis said Wednesday it had hired Blair Oden to serve as managing director of institutional business at its Dallas office.
In his new role, Oden will manage a team of brokers that work directly with clients in the areas of office and industrial brokerage services, as well asset management.
Oden also will help North Texas Senior Managing Director Mark Fewin coordinate and integrate CBRE’s (NYSE: CBG) capital markets and institutional groups in the Dallas office.
"Blair is going to be a great addition to our team here in Dallas for both our clients and employees," Fewin said. "We look forward to getting him acclimated with our core values and then building upon our strengths as we move forward with new business initiatives."
Blair previously was with Duke Realty, where he oversaw office leasing and development and played a key role in spearheading build-to-suit office developments for major clients such as T-Mobile in Frisco and Galderma Laboratories in Fort Worth. more
Better protection for SMBs on the Web
It said the new solution provides such businesses with smarter, better-performing technology to combat threats from the Internet.
As more businesses turn to the Web for expansion, many will find that they are inexperienced at implementing a secure work environment, said Trend Micro Malaysia principal consultant Victor Lo.
He also said that about 40% of small businesses have a mobile workforce, hence it's paramount that a security solution extends beyond the office and protects users wherever they go.
Trend Micros Worry-Free Business Security 5.0 has a location-awareness feature that automatically adjusts the protection level on mobile devices and laptops when these machine are used outside the office.
Other features include a hosted multilayer spam protection system that blocks unsolicited messages and scans e-mail for viruses. more

Resolved Question: Do I have any hope of getting into a good American university?
Some information about my background and personality: - An Australian - 21 years of age - Educated up to year 10 (i.e. basic high school education) - Studied Information Technology at TAFE (the Australian version of "community college") - Have a fair amount of motivation and drive; I'm a self-taught computer programmer and I've build up a reasonably good career through self-learning and studying at community college; I've worked for 5 years, both in large organizations and in my own privately owned business - Interested in the world around me; I read about world affairs on the Internet and in books, and listen to university lectures via podcast and find this very stimulating - I have an enormous respect for education, and regret my foolishness in not pursuing it earlier on in life - Can be book-smart when appropriate, but also enjoy team work and being able to exercise creativity Now that I'm getting closer to achieving financial independence, I'm keen to study at one of the world's greatest universities. I know it may seem like a long-shot, but do I have what it takes? What practical steps can I take to increase the likelyhood of being admitted into a university on the level of, say, Berkely? Is 21 too old to begin? moreResolved Question: What is best for me? A PC Running Windows XP/Vista or an iMac 20"?
Greetings Everyone! I want to buy a new computer for my home and business use. At home I use it for vids, photos, music and standard apps. I don't have the time to play many games. I am going into business soon. We will open a language school and we want to do accounts, desktop publishing (fliers and newsletters) and making ads/worksheets. We need to be able to use English OS but Japanese language & software. We will also be setting up a podcast service and we will want to do video-conferencing so that I can give lessons on the Internet. We need a good camera/mic setup. I'm sick of buying things like System Mechanic, anti-spyware/virus etc. just to keep my Win-Tel machine running. From now on I am getting reliability! Should I buy 1 A cheap PC that runs Windows XP as i guess they will be getting cheap soon? 2 A new PC running Windows Vista? 3 An iMac? Thinking of the iMac 20" 2.16GHz 2GB, 250GB HD, SuperDrive. moreTop Business School Podcast Links
