Businesses travellers trading down at hotels
Budget hotel chain Premier Inn has seen substantial growth in corporate bookings, suggesting that business travellers are trading-down as the UK economy falters.
The group, which is owned by Whitbread, claimed sales through its Business Account Card increased 48% in June and 337 new business customers signed up to the scheme.
The company also said 1,238 new businesses, mainly from the UK, had successfully applied for a corporate account.
Chief executive of Whitbread, Alan Parker, said Premier Inn was experiencing “significant growth in corporate account usage" suggesting that business customers are “reigning in on corporate travel expenditure".
Parker added: “The smart business traveller is opting for a high-quality hotel room at a much lower price."

Wal-Mart settles with employee
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. settled a lawsuit by an employee who claimed she was harassed after disclosing the company's plan to destroy documents sought in a criminal case. "This whole tour has been about taking the pulse of all types of businesses," Hulshof said. "We have to have a vibrant, business-friendly environment to grow here."
Local area unemployment statistics show that the state has lost 32,000 jobs in the past 12 months. Additionally, a report released today by the Alliance for American Manufacturing showed that between 2001 and 2007, Missouri has lost 45,400 jobs to China.
Hulshof said the state has the ability to compete with other countries, but businesses must find ways to reinvent themselves. Otherwise, Missouri may lose out on coveted jobs.
On the issue of megaprojects — costly initiatives that attract a great amount of public attention because of substantial impacts on communities — Hulshof said they are necessary to attract major industry to the state. more

He ran past his neighbors' houses, past the grassy yards where he played as a little boy. The 16-year-old football player at Whites Creek High School had dreams of sprinting down an NFL field someday, but on this night he was running for his life. The bullets caught up with Brandon and sent him tumbling into a neighbor's bushes. He was dead. "You lose your youngest son, you feel like your whole life has been taken away from you," said his mother, Kesha Simmons. "The killing has to stop. This gang stuff has to stop." But it's not stopping. It's getting worse. Overwhelmed police officers admit gangs have taken hold in all corners of Tennessee to sell drugs, steal and kill. What was once largely an urban crisis has spread to suburban and rural communities. Middle Tennessee's gangs are no longer just graffiti-spraying juvenile delinquents. They are armed and dangerous criminal enterprises that recruit young people with the allure of fast money, street status and a sense of belonging — even if the group they join may get them killed or sent to prison. "People don't understand there are drive-by shootings going on in Murfreesboro," said Ed Yarbrough, U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee. "There are witness-elimination killings happening at (the) Hickory Hollow Mall (area). We've got this mindset that suburban areas don't have a gang problem, but we need to wake up to the fact that they do and drive them out." As in Tennessee, gang activity has spiked nationwide. Nearly 800,000 gang members and 27,000 gangs operate across the 50 states, a Justice Department survey shows. Some estimates have the figure at 2 million gang members. While there are no statewide numbers, gangs are present in most of the state's 95 counties, including many communities in the Nashville area, a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation report says. Police have identified 5,000 gang members in Davidson County. Murfreesboro estimates 400 to 500. Columbia has 200. see link for more photos of Mexicans thumping their noses at our laws ?http://www.tennessean.com/article/20100228/NEWS03/2280378/Gangs+expand+their+criminal+business+into+TN+suburbs moreResolved Question: Chances of getting into NYU, BC, Georgetown, or Columbia?

I know that I asked this question yesterday, but it didn't get too many answers, so here goes: I'm writing a story and having trouble deciding on the name of my characters. Help! Character 1: She's tall and extremely beautiful, with long blonde hair and green eyes. Her great grandfather had founded Simmons Hotels so she grew up very privileged, but she hates that she had been spoiled all her life. She lives in New York City, where she just graduated from Columbia and majored in hospitality and business management. She strides to become a major event planner, but learns that getting the job of her dreams and living on her own for the first time may be harder than it seems. She is very down to earth, responsible, and has high expectations, but tends to be a bit controlling and worries too much. Character 2: Her fraternal twin barely graduated high school and has spent the last 4 years of her life partying, shopping, and doing nothing valuable what so ever. She is a famous hotel heiress, and not exactly the brightest crayon in the box. She has light brown hair and hazel eyes. Considered to be pretty, but she's always despised the fact that everyone says her sister is the prettier one. She takes advantage of her sister sometimes and relies on her very much. These were my top combinations: Character 1: Maggie (short for Magdalena) Character 2: Lila Character 1: Lila Character 2: Reese Character 1: Scarlett Character 2: Casey Charcter 1: Julia Caracter 2: Scarlett The last name is Simmons. Which of my combinations do you like best? Using the names that I listed, what combos do you like that I didn't list? Suggestions, opinions? Most detailed and opinionated gets Best Answer! High School GPA I graduated with was a 3.6 at an academically difficult high school. I had a 3.2 GPA during the time when I was applying to colleges (I went to an academically challenging prep school). I had an SAT score of 2290 (took the SAT my 1st year of college since I heard I will need it as a transfer) College GPA = 3.9 (currently in my second year of college) College I attend is Armstrong Atlantic State University (tier 4). Major = Biology (looking to go to Business school or law school but in case that doesn't work out I can earn a good job out of college with a degree in biology, I will take more business courses for my final two years of college) Extra curricular activities in college include - organizing a local lake clean up and encouraging my fellow students to participate - Volunteer hours at a local hospital (120 hours total) - Member of the student government - Did the "Alternative Spring Break program" where I helped tutor kids at a local public school and helped some high school kids by giving them SAT prep. Also helped in rebuilding a house. - Member of the biology club - Member of the politics club, I am also the vice president of the club at our school - Joined up with three friends of mines and helped to start a food drive. **My parents will be moving out of the southeast and I have been wanting to move out of here for a while now. My professors often tell me that it would be better if I transfer because I belong at a top university and many are willing to write me a letter of recommendation. I am not satisfied with my current institution, there is limited opportunity here. I am planning to apply to the following colleges as a transfer (application deadline is in March, done the applications for most of them): 1. University of Connecticut. 2. During business school, we were jokingly talking about 50 Cent and various other hip hop moguls who have a net worth over 300 million. 50 Cent currently has a net worth of 440 million dollars and ranks as the top earner from the hip hop industry. Someone stated that he attended Columbia University. However, how could this guy go to Columbia before he was famous? He doesn't seem like it. But some beg to differ, he has his own record label, clothing line, shoes, video games, films, books, and the investment in Coca Cola. We rebuttaled it by saying that he has the money and connections to open up his businesses. What do you guys think? The way this guy talks doesn't really seem like an individual from an ivy league. moreResolved Question: Moving to Vancouver BC from Ontario?
Hello, I am a 24 year old man who currently lives in Ontario, Canada. I have cerebral palsy and I am on disability. I live in a small, uninspired, boring, jobless and depressing town which I have lived in for about 5 years. I want to move!!! BADLY!!!!!!!! I am preparing to take my GED exams in a couple months here though. When I have my GED papers; I want to move to British Columbia maybe in the early second half of 2010. I have heard good things about BC regarding the climate, people, fun activity, and job opportunities and I would like to go there and make a clean sweep of my life. My goals are to go to school there and build a life for myself. Get into a career in medicine. While I am there; I want to makes new friends and settle down. Perhaps even open a small business. The town I currently live in is not populated by friendly, warm, and engaging people. Quite the opposite! When I moved here from another part of Ontario; I quickly noticed that people here are rather unfriendly, tight lipped, narrow minded and awkwardly anti-social. I visited here in the early 90’s and between then and now, it is just the same. Except for the fact that there are faster computers and a new stadium. I meant, the people are the same. There is very little to do here for entertainment too. Sorry for being negative, but that is pretty much how it is. I have heard and read very similar views on this town over the years. In the mean time; I need some advice on long distance moving. I really don’t know how to move long distances all by myself! The plan is to move myself with the Greyhound bus. Perhaps have a family member hold onto some of my things I can't really take right away. Non essential stuff like: books, stereo, game console, spare computer, ETC. And return later on the bus to pick it up bit by bit or have them ship it to me. As a student; I can use my ID and travel to BC from here one way with every bit of $100. That is fine by me. No big deal. Problem is: 1. How do I search for and secure an apartment in BC all the way from here!? 2. Where (which town) do I find a one bedroom apartment for around $550 per month? If “push comes to shove”; I would be perfectly willing to share a large two bedroom apartment with a roommate taking up the second room to help pay the bills. 3. I currently have on my hands; an apartment which is fully furnished! HERE in Ontario! Sadly I know I can only take a small portion of my belongings which I spent years accumulating. But I have this apartment to deal with; I can’t take it all with me. I am planning my future, I have to bite the bullet and say goodbye to a large chunk of my furnature. I can’t just leave my bed, table couch and everything else for my landlord to clean up/dispose of. That is not the act of a good tenant! I’m not a deadbeat tenant. 4. I have a 5 1/2 year old pet cat, which I love dearly. Greyhound won't let animals on board. And leaving her behind is not an option, not to mention cruel and unusual to the little beastie. What shall I do? I am on disability at the moment so I am limited money wise. 5. When I get there; I will quickly go to a local thrift store and purchase the following things for my apartment. Each are common and mostly inexpensive items: -Bed -Kitchen table with chairs -Dresser -Couch & arm chair -Coffee table -Desk & chair -Lamps -bookcase -Dishes, bowls, glasses, and mugs -Pots and pans -Forks and knives -Toaster oven -Teapot and kettle -phone -Small TV set and table -shower curtain Thanks for any help you could give me in planning my move to British Columbia! I appreciate all the advice I can get. moreVoting Question: Do you think I could get into Columbia?

I know people say that America is supposed to be the land of opportunity and all that (we all know that all of that is not true) but I still believe that. I am only 17. ********:: YOU CAN SKIP THIS PART AND GO DIRECTLY TO THE BOTTOM QUESTION IF YOU LIKE. My list in life includes the following. 1. Going to Yale, Harvard, MIT, Stanford or Brown for business school or law school. 2. For undergraduate, getting a 4.0 GPA at a smaller name college and then transferring to Georgetown, Columbia, Dartmouth or UC Berkeley. 3. Getting a career that pays at least 200k or more. 4. Becoming a CEO for a fortune 500 company or becoming a well respected lawyer. 5. Living in the Northeast part of the United States because it is so fun there and because I want my kids to enjoy life in a nice, liberal and progressive environment. 6. Marrying a good looking female with the following features: Dark Hair, Nice Body, Fair (yellowish) Skin and is Asian (maybe Hispanic). 7. Playing football (Quarterback position), maybe if it is only for one snap in a college football game with helmets on. 8. Taking the SAT (for the 4th time) and getting at least a 2300 on it. Here is the reality: 1. I am a kid who had the disadvantage of learning English late in life (age 12) because my family moved around so much. I rarely had the opportunity to stay in one place and make childhood friends. 2. I have a 3.5 GPA at an academically competitive high school because I had to run into so much struggle earlier in my high school years, being bullied by kids in the neighborhood and being around people of bad influence in the 8th grade because those were the only people I knew, kind of gave a rough start to high school for me. 3. I don't want to be a doctor but I want to go into the Law and Business fields which are high risk and high reward. 4. I live in a deep south town currently where there is not a lot of opportunity and where racism is extremely common. I have had a tough time sometimes because I was an Asian American and my parents had to move down here because of their job. I really really really want to live in the Northeast. 5. I want to marry a good looking woman but the issue is that I am an Asian Indian and people tell me that others find people of my race unattractive (the males mostly). I heard that Asian girls in America only go for White guys. 6. My high school does not have a football program and the high schools which do have a program are so bad in this area that they rarely send kids to college. 7. I took the SAT three times and here are my scores: 1470, 1940 and 2190. Sometimes I get to hear from my friends that I need to cool down, while others say that they would love a 1900 on the SAT I look down on it. I want to go to university for somthing to do with business or the study of business but like most majors you need math and im not the greatest at it. In grade 9 i failed academic level math so i am taking it over and getting a 90 somthing with ease and my teacher says i should move up to academic. I am kind of worried that i might fail academic math again and am kind of uncertain if i should take it. I was looking on the class requirements for the university of british columbia and it was saying you only need grade 12 academic english to major in economics and was wondering if its like that at every school? Also is economics considered a bachelor of arts because it was under that category and im not sure that you need math for bachelor of arts majors. moreResolved Question: Chance a college transfer please?
High School GPA I graduated with was a 3.6 at an academically difficult high school. I had a 3.2 GPA during the time when I was applying to colleges (I went to an academically challenging prep school). I had an SAT score of 2290 (took the SAT my 1st year of college since I heard I will need it as a transfer) College GPA = 3.9 (currently in my second year of college) College I attend is Armstrong Atlantic State University. Major = Biology (looking to go to Business school but in case that doesn't work out I can earn a good job out of college with a degree in biology, I will take more business courses for my final two years of college) Extra curricular activities in college include - organizing a local lake clean up and encouraging my fellow students to participate - Volunteer hours at a local hospital (120 hours total) - Member of the student government - Did the "Alternative Spring Break program" where I helped tutor kids at a local public school and helped some high school kids by giving them SAT prep. Also helped in rebuilding a house. - Member of the biology club - Member of the politics club, I am also the vice president of the club at our school - Joined up with three friends of mines and helped to start a food drive. **My parents will be moving out of the southeast and I have been wanting to move out of here for a while now. I am planning to apply to the following colleges as a transfer (application deadline is in March, done the applications for most of them): 1. Yale University 2. Stanford 3. Columbia University 4. I am sure that I have asked this question many times. Anyways, I am a senior in high school right now and I live in an extremely underprivileged part of the US. Parents cannot afford to send me to a private school so we settle for a highly rated public magnet school which sends kids to state universities and some average public universities but not the Ivies. The school does not allow you to take many AP classes either so I did not have that opportunity and plus I lived a rough life, not speaking English fluently till I was 12. I want to attend an Ivy League school, my GPA is a 3.5 and I have a 2190 SAT score (already sent in the application for Yale). I probably won't get in but my teachers have said that she has had students who have transferred to places like Cornell, Columbia, UPenn, NYU , and Boston College. I really want to attend a top school and parents said that they will pay for the final two years. My goal is to attend law school or business at Yale or Harvard (I will not settle for anything less). I feel that I belong in a top school setting because despite my hardships in life, I was able to do good in school. I want a better life for my kids, I want them to have the opportunities I never heard and you cannot sugar coat the fact that going to an Ivy really opens up more options for you. Also I want to compete and I know that if I have a good and stable environment, I can be a top student and I want to go against the best. I want this for myself and my parents are willing to pay for my final two years at a top college. If not I plan on going there for grad school..... I have the following questions. 1. Is it possible to transfer to a top 50 school? 2. Is transferring a bad idea? Financially it doesn't matter but I heard that it is tough to make friends and it makes a deep impact on your social life. I would give up a social life and friends just to get myself a top education and a good job so my kids can live a good life, that would be enough to make me happy. 3. I know Yale and Stanford accept transfers but from where? What can I do so I have a shot at transferring to those schools? moreResolved Question: Sexual desires vs. values & moral (read description)?
Im 17, senior. My gf wants to have sex with me, but i dont really want to. But, after high school, i plan to study hard in college (as i always have in high school). I have had basically no life in high school because all i do is study. My senior year, i am thinking of doing everything because i will probably never have sex again, until im out of school and have a job (6 years of college - im going to grad school). Even then, im not sure if i can find a girlfriend. Of course, i would use a condom and be careful. What do you think...honestly. Honesetly, I plan to live single the rest of my life. I care more about school and owning/growing a business than girls...I know its kind of immoral, but look at the situation...And she really wants too have sex with me. Plus, im pretty sure im not that attractive. Im quite serious about all of this. Im fairly intelligent - plan to apply to Columbia U. Made it into Villanova U, so please do not say im dumb or immature. Hi, I am studying Forest Operations in the University of British Columbia. I am starting to regret choosing forestry because I realize that I don't like the field work. I want to try to find a job that is in the urban area and not far away in a remote area and forestry jobs seems to be all in remote areas. I chose forestry because my high school teacher made it sound interesting and there are some parts of forestry that requires engineering, which I am interested in. I was going to go into engineering but because I didn't do too well in physics, I decided to choose something else. And I am not interested in science, business, or medical majors. I"m a junior in high school and believe I'm interested in applying to Columbia University and Barnard College in Morningside Heights, Manhattan. Both schools have great programs and everything I'm looking for in a school. The only thing I'm sketchy about is NYC itself. I just dont know if I can imagine living there being raised in such open space. The ideas of relying on subways and taxis creeps me out a little, but maybe it's not that bad. My dad went to NY on business over Thanksgiving and said that it's really cleaned up since the last time he was there....(in the 90s of course, but improvement's still improvement) I plan on visiting, but any advice on if it'd be too hard to adjust to NYC life? Thanks! moreVoting Question: Depression after moving to the middle of nowhere.?
In '06 I moved from S.Florida (Ft.Lauderdale) to North Carolina to be with my family. I didn't want to move but I decided that it would be easier for me to finish college, since i only had about 2 or 3 years left, if I moved back in with my parents and lived with them. I've been in NC for 3 years already and I still have not been able to get used to it. I feel like the more people I meet over here, the more I can't stand it, (no offense the any Carolinians out there). I just feel like I don't belong at all and people always feel the need to point out the fact that everything about me stands out, from my dresscode to my accent. I'm originally from Queens, NY and when I speak English, I have a heavy New Yorker (the latin type) accent. Also, when I speak Spanish I have a heavy Colombian accent, and since most hispanics from here are Mexican, people aren't used to the way I speak. Seriously I can't walk out of my house without having some idiot stop me to tell me, "you're not from around here, where are you from?" then the minute I say "mind your business" they're like "ooo you're from NY, are you Mexican? Puerto Rican?". You all have no idea how annoying that is. (Sometimes I wish I had the money to buy people out here maps to show them that Mexico and PR arent the only Spanish speaking countries in the world. And so that they can also see that there's a COUNTRY named Colombia. When I say I'm Colombian most people think I'm from Columbia, SC) Also everytime I go out I always end up arguing with someone. People out here don't know how to walk without bumping into someone; and at the club, forget it, females have no balance when they dance. It seriously got to the point that I rather stay home than try to go out and socialize. When I moved to FL I didn't have these issues. People in FL and NY (as rude as some people think we are) are very accepting. We were raised in a culturally diverse evironment and it is not uncommon to see people that are bilingual, or trilingual. At the end of the day, we all live in this mettling pot. Anyways long story short, living in NC is still depressing and I got to the point where I have no idea what to do. I've tried find a job in other places (NY, FL, PA, NJ) but with this economy its practically impossible. I'm done with school and I feel like the sacrifice I made to move out here, knowing off top how boring it is out here, was a waste of time. Degree and all, I having been able to land anything in my field. I just need some suggestions of what I can do to get over this depression, at least until I can move. I know once I move I'll snap back to the old me: crazy, funny, always happy, ME.I think antidepressants might be the answer. I definitely get you though, I guess its the way you were raised. I just feel like I can't put up with it any longer. And everything pisses me off! lol. Like this dude, Joe's comment, I like how he thinks my post was boring yet I bet he wasted a good 3 minutes of his life reading the ENTIRE THING. If it was so fkn boring then you should've clicked the "next question" button at the top. No instead to answer my question. How smart, I swear slow people just irritate me.Thanks for the answers, honestly I needed that. Like I said its just something I'm not used to. I'm used to being able to walk down the street and not have anyone talk to me, ask me questions about my life or comment on how I look. I see it as people being nosey but I guess it can just be their way of being friendly. Thats why this question was posted, just need a different perspective. moreResolved Question: Chances of getting into USC, Stanford, UCLA, Columbia...?
So, I did this a while ago but didn't get any responses; here I go again! I really would appreciate some feedback this time! I am currently a junior in a Sacramento Area public high school. I took a sample one with kaplan that was very accurate with last year's PSAT results and recieved a 198; just took the real one last month and pretty sure I got over 200. I am extremely passionate about politics, so I would like to study Political Science and minor in International Relations/Business. Possibly minor in Spanish. Pepperdine Do I have a chance at any of these schools? Am I on track? Is there anything specific I can do to set myself apart from other applicants? Any other suggestions? *And I know it may help that I live in California for the UC's, and I know they say it doesn't matter but for what it's worth I am 1/2 Mexican, 1/4 Armenian, and 1/4 Yogoslavian. ALSO... hypothetical situation: I got into USC and Stanford. Both cost the same. I LOVE LA, not so much the Bay Area. I want to pursue an acting career also, so obviously the best place for that is LA. I feel like I will enjoy going to USC more but then again I don't know much about student life at Stanford. what do these schools have to offer? (obviously they are ivys and good academic schools) i'm in sophomore year now and i'm starting to look at schools. i think i have a good chance with these schools (all a's at a very academic-intense private school [not disclosing which school--for privacy reasons], year round sports, plenty of extra-curriculars, dad went to harvard, and my grandfather has many connections around the boston area) but how are they different? if i want to pursue some business major, which school has the best program? i hate huge schools, and which ones are located in the nicest areas? also if you have any suggestions for schools, feel free to add..wow, thanks magz moreResolved Question: Chances of getting into UCLA, USC, Stanford, UCB, NYU, Princeton, Georgetown?
I am currently a junior in a Sacramento Area public high school. *Freshman: 4.0 GPA (No AP's offered - Took all CP classes) CP English, Student Govt, Spanish 1, Biology, Geography, Geometry, Health/Safety. *Sophomore: 4.2 GPA (Took the 1 AP class offered, 1 Honors, and all CP's) AP European History, Honors English, CP Chemistry, Student Govt, Spanish 2, Spanish 3, Algebra 2. *Junior: so far 4.33 GPA: Spanish 4, Anatomy/Physiology, Student Govt, AP Art History, AP Lang and Comp, Honors Pre-Calc, US History and Sociology at Community College. *Senior: probably about a 4.5 GPA; Expected Schedule: AP Spanish, AP Human Geography, AP Govt/Econ, AP Literature, AP Psychology, Student Govt, AP Stats, and 2 more Community College Classes *Top 5% of class *ASB Vice President of my school *Intern in California State Senate *DC Congressional Page *Varsity Track and Field athlete *Speech and Debate Champion *Youth Commissioner in my city's government *Started my school's Junior State of America chapter this year, where I am President *CSF member. *20+ hours of community service with a local Children's hospital *20+ hours with local campaigns, and a bit of time with other various organizations. PSAT last year as a sophomore: around 170 (but very high in reading/comprehension), with literally no preparation. I took a sample one with kaplan that was very accurate with last year's PSAT results and recieved a 198; just took the real one last month and pretty sure I got over 200. I am extremely passionate about politics, so I would like to study Political Science and minor in International Relations/Business. So far, I have looked into UCLA, UCB, Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, Dartmouth, Cornell, Brown, NYU, Georgetown, Columbia, and USC. Do I have a chance at any of these schools? Am I on track? Is there anything specific I can do to set myself apart from other applicants? Any other suggestions? *And I know it may help that I live in California for the UC's, and I know they say it doesn't matter but for what it's worth I am 1/2 Mexican, 1/4 Armenian, and 1/4 Yogoslavian. moreResolved Question: Whats a good school for a person that wants to learn chemical engineering yet also wants to major in Finance?
Whats a good school for that because I personally feel that persuing an engineering degree ( although difficult by itself) alone will help me accomplish my life long goals. I live in New York btw but im not limited to just this state. I know NYU is good (somewhat depending on which side of the educational spectrum you come from) for business but most academics also know it sucks for engineering. I also was interested in Cooper Union, but they seem to be another hardcore engineering school. Columbia seems to fit me but i HIGHLY doubt ill be able to get into columbia. And Cornell I have a shot at but they are also hardcore on their breadth of classes. Any opinions? moreResolved Question: How common is this (valedictorian is almost broke, high school outcast is living a great life)?
So I recently met the valedictorian of my high school (an intelligent Latin female) who was accepted into Columbia University (ivy league) and she said she graduated. She is now working a regular job and she tells me that life at Columbia was tough for her so she ended up graduating with an average GPA. She tells me how much struggles her life have given her and how much she has to work just to pay rent and afford groceries. A kid that graduated high school with an average GPA (2.8 or so) and made an average SAT score is working for a fortune 500 company. This kid is a man now and I recently talked to him, he went to a so so university for his undergrad and ended up transferring to a highly ranked state university. I was told by his friends that he went to business school at Yale. How common is this type of occurrence? moreResolved Question: What are good Master Programs for English and what schools I'm I likely to get into?
I'm graduating with a Bachelor's in English with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a GPA of 3.2 from the school I'm currently enrolled in. I've been looking at several schools and I'm pretty sure that I'm blatantly unqualified for most of the ones I wish to apply to (Carnegie Mellon, Columbia...). I've done a lot of extra-curricular activity (starting a few businesses, etc.) and I'll be nineteen when I receive my Bachelor's. Which schools pay attention to this sort of thing? Is it likely that that I could get into University of Chicago? What are some schools(not Ivy league....) with good English programs? moreVoting Question: Why are Republicans pols smarter and better educated than Democrat pols?
Repubs: -David Vitter (Harvard, Oxford, Rhodes Scholar) -Bill Frist (Harvard Medical School, Princeton) -John Sununu (MIT, Harvard Business School) -Judd Gregg (Columbia, Boston University) -Kit Bond (Princeton, University of Virginia) -Mitt Romney (Stanford/BYU, Harvard Law and Business) Dems: -Mark Begich (only member of the Senate without college degree) -Harry Reid (Utah State, GWU) -Nancy Pelosi (Trinity Washington) -Rahm Emanuel (Ballerina School) -Chris Dodd (Louisville, Providence College) moreResolved Question: Schools that offer a music business major?
Are there other schools with majors comparable to Columbia College's Music Business Management? Most schools have this program within a music college and require an audition and participation within an ensemble. I don't play an instrument, but I am really interested in the management/production side of the industry. The program at this school looks perfect, but I'm looking for a school that's located further west (ideally, southern California). moreTop Business School Columbia Links
