India's Workforce Revolution
Companies like General Electric and Cisco now have their second-largest research centers in Bangalore. Debates rage in the U.S. about whether this will lead to greater prosperity or threaten the country's global economic leadership. But it's more productive to ask how India is training a workforce capable of handling such complex work.
. moreBusinesses must control costs: expert
If businesses haven't taken stock of their costs as the economy enters a weak period they risk being uncompetitive, a global business consultant warns.
A survey released shows privately-owned businesses still regard quality as their key advantage rather than price, despite the tough economic climate.
The research by business consultant Grant Thornton found that 72 per cent of such firms put quality as their number one competitive edge.
Only 41 per cent believed pricing measures could deliver a strong competitive advantage, behind ethical business (66 per cent), staff retention (61 per cent) and brand strength (59 per cent).
Tony Markwell, national head of privately held Business at Grant Thornton Australia, said he was surprised by the results. more
Solutia has the answer to chemicals poser
NEWPORT chemical company Solutia has been awarded for developing an environmentally-friendly clean-up process which could now be taken up by manufacturers across Europe.
The company employs 164 people and makes a range of chemicals on its site in Corporation Road, which go into products as diverse as car windscreen safety glass, paints, floor coverings, varnishes and washing powders, as well as water treatment products and heat transfer fluids.
It developed the process to deal with the toxic chemical, formaldehyde, which is discharged as a residue during the manufacture of chemicals used in washing detergents and to prevent build up of scale in water treatment processes.
The industry-accepted best technique to deal with formaldehyde through a bio-treatment plant was ineffective, so Solutia developed a reaction known as Formose, which converts formaldehyde to harmless sugars extremely cost-effectively and reduces its presence in waste water to one part per million. more
Keeping Consumers Safe from Defective Imported Products: After a
Worse, they obfuscate the critical need to work directly with overseas manufacturers, and especially to understand the rather unique dynamic that businesses encounter when importing products from China.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission Reform Act
Unfortunately, Congress seems to have succumbed to the same fundamental misunderstanding of the primary issue facing import safety that has plagued Operation Guardian. Congress, too, has failed to focus on the need for U.S.-based importers to travel to China and train their overseas manufacturers in China as to how to comply with U.S. safety regulations.
The bipartisan Consumer Product Safety Commission Reform Act, H.R. 4040 ("the Act"), is set to pass any day now. The law is intended to "establish consumer product safety standards . more

Open Question: Should I Quit My Teaching Jobs To Undertake A PhD?
My Case History - When I was 18 years old, my father made me go to college to earn a Bachelor's degree in Business. Having no competence in business, however, upon graduation, I went to teacher's college to earn a Master's degree in Business Education. I subsequently took three jobs: 1. Full-Time High School Teacher of Business Studies 2. Part-Time Community College Professor of Marketing (Night Courses) 3. Part-Time University Instructor of Business Education (teaching prospective high school Business teacher's how to teach business). In all three cases, the phrase, "Those who can, do; those who can't, teach," comes to mind. Anyway, my true interests were/are humanities, arts, literatures, and social sciences. So, I went to the local university to study towards a BA in Humanities and an MA in Humanities, both of which I earned with high honors. I was able to study towards these degrees because I was able to study at night and on the weekends when I was not working. I truly enjoyed studying FOR ONCE a subject I enjoyed. I applied to a doctoral program in Humanities at the same university, and got in. I was not expecting to be admitted, but I was. The question is, should I go? The PHD program is not offered part-time, at nights, or on weekends. It is a full-time, residential, day program. I will be 35 by the time I finish. (I am 30 now). I will be giving up a salary (combining all 3 of my jobs, listed above) of about $95,000.00, in addition to three pensions, and stable jobs (no one gets fired from teaching). I love my current jobs, but I always wanted to see if I could earn a doctorate and be a university professor. And, as I mentioned, the only reason I studied business was because my dad made me. Also, I have heard there may be no university professor jobs available. Especially seeing as how my field is very interdisciplinary - Humanities. Please advise. My family thinks I would be nuts to take this degree and quit my jobs. I have NO dependants. I am not married, I do not have children. The only person I have to look after is ME. moreOpen Question: thinking of becoming a saddler when i am older, views on this?
im 16 and have no idea what i want to do when i am older, i am getting my gcse results in 10 days and i am hoping for good results, (predicted grades of mostly a's with c in german and b in textiles) and i am staying on to our schools 6th form next year (its a good 6th form). my mum wants me to go in to law and i am studying law next year to see if i like it, i am also studying english & geography (my choices) and politics which was more a case of don’t have a clue what to choose as 4th option so ill do that but i have never known what i want to do when i am older (other than wanting to be a vet when i was 6 like every other little girl who likes animals) i am very interested in horses, i have 2 of my own, a youngster and my one i ride, the saddler came out to fit another horse on the yard a new saddle and he also looked at my youngster to tell us what size saddle she would need. and i was watching him measure up the other horse for a while before he looked at my pony when the other horse was being lead into the arena to be ridden and then i went home so i don't know what else he did but it got me thinking, how about being a saddler! i have really enjoyed hunting for a saddle for my pony (aka trawling through literally hundreds of adverts for saddles on ebay as well as other sites) and got one today put it on her and i instantly knew it didn't fit, in a way i was pleased as it meant more looking through saddles!!! i then went onto the job4u website which is a database of jobs and searched saddler, ( http://www.connexions-direct.com/jobs4u/index.cfm?pid=55&catalogueContentID=763&render=detailedArticle ) and read though and liked what it said it said Skills and personal qualities A saddler should have: creativity and be good at working with their hands..... i have done gcse textiles and really enjoyed it and i think i did quite well. a flair for design and construction excellent eyesight and be able to pay close attention to detail..... i wear glasses but that's for things far away and i notice odd little details, eg i will notice that a tv program is a repeat from 6 years ago from tax disk on car for example good knowledge of the anatomy of horses.....i know basics but i can learn patience, as the work can be slow and laborious.......if things require time i put time into it, i hate things not being perfect the ability to use a variety of tools and equipment.... obviously i have never used saddle making equipment but im good with diy and putting together flat pack furniture with my mum! the ability to work alone without supervision or as part of a small team....i prefer working in a team but if i have confidence in something i can work alone business skills if self-employed....im not sure awareness of health and safety.... i can learn but yeah, i don't know so i want to see what people think, i know it would be hard to get into but i would try phoning local saddlers for apprenticeship, i think my parent would prefer me to go to uni and get a degree and all that but uni has never attracted me, i was talking with a friend when walking our dogs who wants to be a doctor and i said i don't know if i even want to go to uni and she was quite shocked, i don't like the idea of being in tens of thousands of pounds of debt by the time im not even 25! and reading this ( http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-1301921/Weve-gone-degree-Why-university-longer-passport-success.html ) made me even less want to go to uni wow this is long, thank you for reading this and any views or helpful suggestions would be much appreciated moreResolved Question: What are your thoughts on this?
Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100 years. Truly, he is the savior of America 's future. Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings among recent presidents, history will see Barack Obama as the source of America 's resurrection. Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that we could not have previously imagined; his efforts to nationalize health care have been met with fierce resistance nationwide; TARP bailouts and stimulus spending have shown little positive effect on the national economy; unemployment is unacceptably high and looks to remain that way for most of a decade; legacy entitlement programs have ballooned to unsustainable levels, and there is a seething anger in the populace. That's why Barack Obama is such a good thing for America. Here's why. Obama is the symbol of a creeping liberalism that has infected our society like a cancer for the last 100 years. Just as Hitler is the face of fascism, Obama will go down in history as the face of unchecked liberalism. The cancer metastasized to the point where it could no longer be ignored. Average Americans who have quietly gone about their lives, earning a paycheck, contributing to their favorite charities, going to high school football games on Friday night, spending their weekends at the beach or on hunting trips - they've gotten off the fence. They've woken up. There is a level of political activism in this country that we haven't seen since the American Revolution, and Barack Obama has been the catalyst that has sparked a restructuring of the American political and social consciousness. Think of the crap we've slowly learned to tolerate over the past 50 years as liberalism sought to re-structure the America that was the symbol of freedom and liberty to all the people of the world. Immigration laws were ignored on the basis of compassion. Welfare policies encouraged irresponsibility, the fracturing of families, and a cycle of generations of dependency. Debt was regarded as a tonic to lubricate the economy. Our children left school having been taught that they are exceptional and special, while great numbers of them cannot perform basic functions of mathematics and literacy. Legislators decided that people could not be trusted to defend their own homes, and stripped citizens of their rights to own firearms. Productive members of society have been penalized with a heavy burden of taxes in order to support legions of do-nothings who loll around, reveling in their addictions, obesity, indolence, ignorance and "disabilities." Criminals have been arrested and re-arrested, coddled and set free to pillage the citizenry yet again. Lawyers routinely extort fortunes from doctors, contractors and business people with dubious torts. We slowly learned to tolerate these outrages, shaking our heads in disbelief, and we went on with our lives. But Barack Obama has ripped the lid off a seething cauldron of dissatisfaction and unrest. A former Communist is given a paid government position in the White House as an advisor to the president. Auto companies are taken over by the government, and the auto workers' union - whose contracts are completely insupportable in any economic sense - is rewarded with a stake in the company. Government bails out Wall Street investment bankers and insurance companies, who pay their executives outrageous bonuses as thanks for the public support. Terrorists are read their Miranda rights and given free lawyers. And, despite overwhelming public disapproval, Barack Obama has pushed forward with a health care plan that would re-structure one-sixth of the American economy. Literally millions of Americans have had enough. They're organizing, they're studying the Constitution and the Federalist Papers, they're reading history and case law, they're showing up at rallies and meetings, and a slew of conservative candidates are throwing their hats into the ring. Is there a revolution brewing? Yes, in the sense that there is a keen awareness that our priorities and sensibilities must be radically re-structured. Will it be a violent revolution? No. It will be done through the interpretation of the original document that has guided us for 220 "FANTASTIC" years--- the Constitution. Just as the pendulum swung to embrace political correctness and liberalism, there will be a backlash, a complete repudiation of a hundred years of nonsense. A hundred years from now, history will perceive the year 2010 as the time when America got back on the right track. And for that, we can thank Barack Hussein Obama. Ok well I'm thinking of going to law school after high school, but I hear somewhere that some lawyers are on food stamps. I know there are multiple lawyers that specialize in certain cases such as corporate lawyers, divorce, law suit, prosecutor, defense attorney, etc. I'm not sure which job pays the highest but a friend told me it was the job of a corporate lawyer. Also, do lobbyists get paid more money? I hear there are lots of law firms, and lawyers can earn millions from mass tort cases. Or should I just stick to business and study stock price fluctuations? When I say lucrative, I mean ordering a ferrari enzo, which is about $1 million? moreResolved Question: I'm not a lesbian but everyone tells me I act like one. Any advice to help me stop scaring off men?
I can't really say that this opinion applies to the whole world, but it certainly applied to me in my high school and to friends of mine from different parts of my home state (even friends that I met later in high school - and for reference, I'm currently in college). Sometimes I'm unaware I'm doing it, sometimes I know something that I just said blatantly came across as a lesbian comment, even though I didn't intend it that way. The worst part about it all, though, is that the people who tell me I'm coming across as being a lesbian can't pinpoint specific things (you know, the whole study your mistakes thing). It's always 'just now you sounded like a lesbian.' "Well, what did I say just now? Because I said more than one thing..." 'Oh, uhm...well...I don't remember. Sorry. But you sounded like a lesbian!' And I know they aren't just saying it. It's that nagging feeling, even when you can't remember the exact words you know something came across as rude or, in my case, lesbian. Anyway, that's not my big problem. I honestly don't care what the average yahoo thinks because they really have no business in my personal life anyway. The big problem is that every man that approaches me to talk to me (and some of them I must admit I found cute and attractive off the bat, and hoped to earn a deeper relationship with them) ends up walking away, never to speak to me again because I said or did something without realizing it. And it isn't just men, really, but a lot of girls do it to (I assume they just think that I'm hitting on them, even though I never mean to). Does anyone have any advice as to how I can stop coming off as a lesbian and start coming off as the 100% straight (but not by any means homo-phobic) woman I am? (and to everyone that answers, thank you...I know that was a really long question) moreResolved Question: Did those involved understand whether the changes they were making to Collins software were good or bad ?
Is Good Code Impossible This blog seems to have sparked a little bit of backlash towards me as if I were an irresponsible developer making things worse on my peers. I assure you, it’s not true. Sometimes, in business, we have to be willing to accept a little more work than we’d like or a little more hardship in general to gain something back. What was gained from the client was (A) good notoriety for having worked with them and (B) the promise of a longer and more lucrative Phase II. In all things, there is give and take. We gave as much as took. – When you hit your teenage years you decide you want to be a software developer. During your high school years, you learn how to write software using object-oriented principles. When you graduate to college, you apply all the principles you’ve learned to areas such as Artificial Intelligence or 3D graphics. And when you hit the professional circuit, you begin your never-ending quest to write commercial-quality, maintainable, and “perfect” code that will stand the test of time. Commercial-quality. Huh. That’s pretty funny. I consider myself lucky, I *love* design patterns. I like studying the theory of coding perfection. I have no problem starting up an hour-long discussion about why my XP partner’s choice of inheritance hierarchy is wrong — that HAS-A is better than IS-A in so many cases. But something has been bugging me lately and I am wondering something… …is good code impossible in modern software development? The Typical Project Proposal As a full-time contract developer (and part-time), I spend my days (and nights) developing mobile applications for clients. And what I’ve learned over the many years I’ve been doing this is that the demands of client work preclude me from writing the real quality apps that I’d like to be. Before I begin, let me just say it’s not for a lack of trying. I love the topic of clean code. I don’t know anyone who pursues that perfect software design like I do. It’s the execution that I find more elusive, and not for the reason you think. Here, let me tell you a story. Towards the end of last year, a pretty well-known company put out an RFP (Request for Proposol) to have an app built for them. They’re a huge retailer, but for the sake of anonymity let’s call them Gorilla Mart. They say they need to create an iPhone presence and would like an app produced for them by Black Friday. The catch? It’s already November 1st. That leaves just under 4 weeks to create the app. Oh, and at this time Apple is still taking two weeks to approve apps. (Ah, the good old days.) So, wait, this app has to be written in…TWO WEEKS?!?! Yes. We have two weeks to write this app. And unfortunately, we’ve won the bid. (In business, client importance matters.) This is going to happen. “But it’s OK,” Gorilla Mart Executive #1 says. “The app is simple. It just needs to show users a few products from our catalog and let them search for store locations. We already do it on our site. We’ll give you the graphics, too. You can probably — what’s the word — yeah, hardcode it!” Gorilla Mart Executive #2 chimes in, “And we just need a couple coupons the user can show at the cash register. The app will be a throwaway. Let’s get it out the door, and then for Phase II we’ll do something bigger and better from scratch.” And then it’s happening. Despite years of constant reminders that every feature a client asks for will always be more complex to write than it is to explain, you go for it. You really believe that this time, it really can be done in two weeks. Yes. Yes! We can do this! This time it’s different! It’s just a few graphics and a service call to get a store location. XML! No sweat. We can do this…I’m pumped! Let’s go!!! It takes just a day for you and reality to once again make acquaintance. Me: So, can you give me the info I need to call your store location Web Service? The Client: What’s a Web Service? Me: ……….. And that’s exactly how it happened. Their store location service, found right where it’s supposed to be on the top-right corner of their website, is not a web service. It’s generated by Java code. Ixnay with the API-ay. And to boot, it’s hosted by a Gorilla Mart strategic partner. Enter the nefarious “3rd party.” In client terms, a “3rd party” is akin to Angelina Jolie. Despite the promise that you’ll be able to have an enlightening conversation over a nice meal and hopefully hook up afterwards…sorry, it ain’t happenin’. You’re just gonna have to fantasize about it while you take care of business yourself. In my case, the only thing I was able to wrestle out of Gorilla Mart was a current snapshot of their current store listings in an Excel file. I had to write the store location search code from scratch. The double-whammy came later that day — they wanted the product and coupon data online so it could be changed weekly. There goes hardcoding! Two weeks to write an iPhone app have now be...come two weeks to write an iPhone app, a PHP backend, and integrate them togeth–what? They want me to handle QA, too?? To make up for the extra work, the coding will have to go a little faster. Forget that abstract factory, use a big fat for loop instead of the composite, there’s no time!!!! Good code has become impossible. Two Weeks To Completion Let me tell you, that two weeks was pretty miserable. First, two of the days were eliminated due to all-day meetings for my next project. (That amplifies how short a timeframe this was going to be.) Ultimately, I really had eight days to get things done. The first week I worked 74 hours and the next week…god…I don’t even recall it’s been eradicated from my synapses. Probably a good thing. I spent those eight days writing code in a fury. I used all the tools available to me to get it done: copy-and-paste (AKA re-usable code), magic numbers (avoiding the duplication of defining constants and then, gasp!, retyping them), andabsolutely NO unit tests! (Who needs red bars at a time like this, it’d just demotivate me!) It was pretty bad code and I never had time to refactor. Considering the timeframe, however, it was actually pretty stellar, and it was “throwaway” code after all, right? Does any of this sound familiar? Well just wait, it gets better. As I was putting the final touches on the app (the final touches being writing the entirety of the server code), I started to look at the codebase and wondered if maybe it was worth it. The app was done after all. I survived. I SURVI- “Hey, we just hired Bob, and he’s very busy and he couldn’t make the call, but he says we should be requiring users to provide their email addresses to get the coupons. He hasn’t seen the app, but he thinks this would be a great idea! We also want a reporting system to get those emails from the server. One that’s nice and not too expensive. (Wait, that last part was Monty Python.) Speaking of coupons, they need to be ableto expire after a number of days we specify. Oh, and…” Let’s step back. What do we know about what good code is? Good code should be extendable. Maintainable. It should lend itself to modification. It should read like prose. Well, this wasn’t good code. Another thing. If you want to be a better developer, you must always keep this inevitably in mind: The client will always extend the deadline. They will always want more features. They will always want change — LATE. And here’s the formula for what to expect: (# of Executives)2 + 2 * # of New Executives + Bob’s Kids = DAYS ADDED AT LAST MINUTE Now, Executives are decent people. I think. They provide for their family (assuming Satan has approved of their having one.) They want the app to succeed (promotion time!). The problem is that they all want a direct claim to the project’s success. When all is said and done, they all want to point at some feature or design decision they can each call their very own. So, back to thestory, we added a couple more days to the project and got the email feature done. And then I collapsed from exhaustion. The Clients Never Care As Much As You Do The clients, despite their protestations, despite their apparent urgency, never care as much as you do about the app being on time. The afternoon that I dubbed the app completed, I sent an email with the final build to all the stakeholders, Executives (hiss!), managers and so on. “IT IS DONE! I BRING YOU V1.0!!! PRAISE THY NAME.” I hit Send, lay back in my chair and with a smug grin began to fantasize how the company would run me up onto their shoulders and lead a procession down 42nd street while I was crowned “Greatest Developer Ev-ar.” At the very least, my face would be on all their advertising, right? Funny, they didn’t seem to agree. In fact, I wasn’t sure what they thought. I heard nothing. Not a peep. Turns out the folks at Gorilla Mart were eager to and had already moved on to the next thing. You think I lie?I pushed to the Apple Store without filling in an app description. I had requested one from Gorilla Mart and they hadn’t gotten back to me and there was no time to wait. (See previous paragraph.) I wrote them again. And again. I got some of our own management on it. Twice I heard back and twice I was told, “What did you need again?” I NEED THE APP DESCRIPTION! One week later, Apple started testing the app. This is usually a time of joyousness but it was instead a time for mortal dread. As expected, later in the day the app was rejected. It was about the saddest, poorest excuse to allow a rejection I can imagine: “App is missing an app description.” Functionally perfect; no app description. And for this reason Gorilla Mart didn’t have their app ready for Black Friday. I was pretty upset. I’d sacrificed my family for a 2-week super sprint, and no one at Gorilla Mart could be bothered to create an app description given a week of time. They gave it to us an hour after the rejection —apparently that was the signal to get down to business. If I was upset before, I would become livid a week and a half after that. You see, they still hadn’t gotten us real data. The products and coupons on the server were fake. Imaginary. The coupon code was 1234567890. You know, phoney baloney. (Balogna is spelled baloney when used in that context, BTW.) And it was that fateful morning, I checked the Portal and THE APP WAS AVAILABLE! Fake data and all! I cried out in abject horror and called up whoever I could and screamed, “I NEED THE DATA!!!!” and the woman on the other end asked me if I needed fire or police and so I hung up on 911. But then I called Gorilla Mart and was like, “I NEED DATA!!!!” and I’ll never forget the response: Oh, hey there John. We have a new VP and we’ve decided not to release. Pull it off the App Store, would you? In the end, it turned out that at least 11 people registered their email addresses in the database, which meant there were 11 peoplethat could potentially walk into a Gorilla Mart with a fake iPhone coupon in tow. Boy, that might get ugly. When it was all said and done, the client had said one thing correctly all along: the code was a throwaway. The only problem is it was never released in the first place. Rush To Complete, Slow To Market The lesson here is that your stakeholders, whether an external client or internal management, have figured out how to get developers to write code quickly. Effectively? No. Quickly? Yes. Here’s how it works: Tell the developer the app is simple. This serves to pressure the development team into a false frame of mind. It also gets the developers to start working earlier, whereby they… Add features by faulting the team for not recognizing their necessity. In this case, the hardcoded content was going to require app updates to change. How could I not realize that? I did, but I’d been handed a false promise earlier, that’s why. Or a client will hire “a new guy” who’srecognized there is some obvious omission. One day a client will say they just hired Steve Jobs and can we add alchemy to the app? Then they’ll… Push the deadline. Over and over. Developers work their fastest and hardest (and BTW are at their most error-prone, but who cares about that, right?) with a couple days to go on a deadline. Why tell them you can push the date out further while they’re being so productive? Take advantage of it! And so it goes, a few days are added, a week is added, just when you had worked a 20-hour shift to get everything just right. It’s like a donkey and carrot, except you’re not treated as well as the donkey. It’s a brilliant playbook. Can you blame them for thinking it works? But they don’t see the god-awful code. And so it happens time and again despite the results. Code Impossible In a globalized economy, where corporations are held to the almighty dollar and raising the stock price involves layoffs, overworked staffs, and offshoring, thisstrategy I’ve shown you of cutting developer costs is making good code obsolete. As developers, we’re going to be asked told conned into writing twice the code in half the time if we’re not careful. What can we do about it?Your Code Sucks There's no quick way to tell if code is good or bad without understanding the entire solution. 07/29/2010 Your Code Sucks A very good friend of mine is in the midst of an avalanche of work. He has a lot of open contracts, and has been abandoned by a fellow developer that was helping him with his workload. So, with three huge clients breathing down his neck he has been working non stop for weeks now. One client contacted him about the iPad application he is building for them, he let him know "I paid another developer to look at your code, he says it really sucks." When he told me this story, I had to chuckle a bit, and think of all the times I had decided that other people's code sucked. When I first started out, and I looked at code that definitely sucked hard, I scrapped it, and started from scratch in a way I knew was way better. As I matured I looked back and realized that what I had destroyed was a well accepted design pattern, and what Icreated was a mess of a mess pattern. Lesson learned. After some growth I encountered code that I thought sucked ever so often. At this point I wasn't decimating things all together, I would find specific parts of code that I found intolorable and rewrite it. About 9 times out of 10, when I got more than halfway there I'd run into an issue that made me say "Ooooh, that's why they did it that way" and revert it or use the same "sucky" logic with my syntax. Now that I am a little more seasoned, I can tell you with all confidence that I never look at a solution that someone else created and say "Oh, this code sucks." I know that there really is no quick way to tell if code is good or bad without understanding the entire solution. Sure, sometimes things can look sloppy, or poorly done, or undocumented (in my case, not self documenting), however, you never know what was going through the head of the developer that wrote it. More often than not there is a reason why they havedone things this way, and there is no hard and fast way to tell what the context is without being elbow deep in it. So, when I hear that someone has looked at someone else's code base and determined that it sucked I smile and remember what it was like to be so new and sure of myself. So sure that I was an amazing developer, and that I knew what was best in every problematic situation. I miss that swagger, but I appreciate what I have learned, and that is the only person's code that sucks is my own, and the reason why it sucks is I just haven't learned how to make it better yet. moreResolved Question: Should I double major, major and minor, or co-term?
I am attending Stanford University in the fall of 2010 with my primary major as Chemical Engineering. However, my intentions are to go to medical school, hopefully, but I am choosing Chem E as an undergrad degree just in case I do not get in to a medical school (Chem E will put me in good financial standing, there would be flexibility in the careers that I could apply for, and I also would enjoy the job as well. I am not simply using this major as a backup or get rich quick scheme). I would also like to either double major or minor in business as well, as it would help me market myself for med school, as well as assist me in my goals of becoming a hospital department head or even a hospital dean if I am lucky enough. However, I have heard that a method of study called co-terming (in which I pursue a master's degree WHILE I am still in undergraduate studies for ONE major only) is also extremely beneficial if I intend on doing graduate studies after college. If my main goal is to attend medical school and become a doctor of some sort, which path would be most beneficial for my future, while also allowing me to enjoy my college years? (I realize that these are all extremely difficult options, but I am willing to do this so that I may help save lives in the future.) moreVoting Question: i was let go from my job after a year of work because of reasons i was not aware about is that fair?
I worked for a club over a year. I am a single mom im only 20. I worked the closing shift which was 6-11 unless business stated otherwise so i was usually there until 2-3am. I worked wed-fri. I started school in march and asked if i could give up friday bc i needed the extra study time. The head people of the club threatened to take another day off of my because of this but eventually let me do this. I had alreayd arrange for another employee to work it. Recently i had to call off one day because of a school related task, I did what was needed i found someone to cover my shift adn let my boss know. Working there they say to call off you have to just find a replacement and let the boss know. As long as someone is there to serve them alcohol they are ok with it. I dealt with many seuxal comments and people calling me a bitch bc i was studying when there were only 2 people in there at 2am. I had a shoulder injury and had to miss 4 days of work. I HAD PEOPLE covering all my shifts and my boss knew. When i was about to return to work i was notified by phone i wa being let go. I asked why and the person calling said he wasnt really sure just said he had to tell me? and hei s suppose to be the governor of the club. when i went to turn in my keys he then told me it was because i put something about going to serve drunks on my facebook, i thought i had freedom of speech and i never once put the club name or ANY names of ANY people who went down there? When i filed UC they appealed it saying i faked a medical reason, i missed work, i always closed early (even though i NEVER left before 11) im fighting it beccause i did what i had to and worked accordingly and followed all the rules in calling off and not being there. Do you think i have a legit case and a chance at winning? moreResolved Question: Because of my mum I have to enroll at a different school will I have time? Please help (read for more info)?
I have been enrolled at college to start my A levels in September for about 2-3 months now and today my mum (who I do not live with - I have been in care due to her assaulting me last year, and we therefore do not have a regular mum/daughter relationship) enrolled at the SAME college to do Business Administration. Not only will she be in the same college she will be in the SAME BUILDING as business and sixth form are in the same block. I have been thinking of enrolling into a school, will I be able to or is July to late? I am really upset because I have been preparing for college for months and she's gone and enrolled. I doubt anyone would want to go to the same college as their parents but in my case it's particulary bad due to me being in care and not having a good relationship with her to begin with. I find it highly unfair but if I stay at this college I feel like I won't do well (I have good GCSEs and I want to eventually study law at Oxford) and I don't want this to make me fail. I also feel like if my mum is there in the building I won't be able to make any friends because I can't be all friendly and myself since I know she will be lurking around. I also want to add that a lot of people who I know (adults) think she is doing this specifically to get to me, particularly since she has a University Degree and a PHD already so going back to college totally makes no sense at all. She has actually claimed to the police that I hve been harassing her (I wasn't and I didn't get charged or arrested or anything) but clearly she is harassing me so I have filed an harassment complaint with the police against her. Thanks for any help. I am going to see about getting an injuction against my mum next week when I can consult with my lawyer.Yeah Freshkid I do say "mum" because I live in England lol moreResolved Question: Help on a career in journalism?
My ambition is to be a journalist for a newspaper or a magazine. I know this is a very competitive business, but it is in the area I enjoy most. My GCSE's so far haven't been too bad, I've gotten As and A*s in most things, apart from science which I did super bad in! - B, C and a D. I didn't revise that much for any of them, or not at all in some cases, which I know is stupid and arrogant. My school takes people on to sixth form grade C and above and I hope to get in. I would then like to go to university but am unsure as to what subjects I need to study in order to have a chance of succeeding in the industry. I'm a bit lost really so just any advice on what I should do and qualifications I need to become a journalist? Also, universities I should consider? I don't really know much about them, but my cousin goes to Durham, would that be a good place to go for what I want to do? Soon I will be working with a group of visiting Chinese teens (15-17y/o), directing English lessons, speaking with them, and taking them out for group tours around my state. I'm a Japanese major so I know about Asian cultures, but my knowledge on China in particular is pretty limited. Before they arrive I want to learn some things, primarily customs, but I'm having a hard time finding information on customs outside of eating and business etiquette. In case it matters, I don't know what region of China they'll be from other than it's simply mainland China. So if you could answer what you do know, it would be really appreciated! 1. What are some common Chinese gestures? (Like in the US a thumbs-up is good; thumbs-down is bad.) 2. When in school do Chinese students typically begin to study English? 3. Aside from the obvious politics and religion, are there topics that Chinese usually avoid discussing with people who aren't close friends? 4. I've read that in China spitting isn't a big deal. Are they likely to know it's not as acceptable in the US? We're going to some very crowded and tourist-targeted outdoor areas, as well as a theme park, and I don't want anyone we meet to think poorly of them. 5. Are there any other things the Chinese do that Americans might frown upon, or vice versa? 6. Are there any American music groups, TV shows, or movies that are popular in China currently that they might know about? Alternatively, is there a really popular Chinese TV show or movie that *I* should know about? 7. Is there a type of food (junk food or otherwise) that's not sold in China? moreResolved Question: Why Top Companies Prefer to Hire People from MBA Colleges in Delhi?
Each year top companies – both Indian and MNCs – come for campus recruitment. The most desired management candidate is hired with lucrative pay packets, incentives, and facilities. These business graduates are given immense respect that no other incumbent employee would get. Why? What’s so great about a Masters in Business Administration (MBA)? Moreover, people from MBA colleges in Delhi are the most sought-after by corporate giants. Please and thank you?
So I am getting older now and it's time for me to think about what I want to go to school for and what I wanna do fo a living. My honest dream is to become a famous author, but in case that doesn't work out I need to think about other options. Here is a quick description of me. I am very creative, I like art and design. I also like animals a lot but I couldn't be a vet because I would be to squeamish (same with doctor/nursing) I am NOT a people person so psychology or teaching or public relations just throw that out. I was slightly interested in architecture but my math is not the best. I am best at english. Science is ok for me but history/social studies is just awful. I was thinking it would be fun to be a lawyer maybe but I have this terrible fear of conflict, so that means I couldn't really go into law or law enforcement I guess. I am not good at staring at a paper or computer all day, it gives me anxiety, so hopefully nothing like office work. I was thinking I would love to get a degree in business and open one of my own, but I am scared it would go under, leaving me in debt. I know there is not a lot to work with, but I really need a good job that makes me happy and gives me enough money to be at least well off. It is a personal thing. Any ideas? Please no mean or stupid answers :D moreResolved Question: Can I start an non-profit org under my for-prof business?
I own two music studios where we and teachers we've hired teach private lessons mostly to rich kids and adults, because private instruction is quite expensive. I appreciate the income but before I went into this business I was teaching music in urban schools, because before music my real dream was always to help disadvantaged kids to grow and thrive in life in general through music with all its rewards. My career led me to where I am now but I don't like excluding those who cannot afford it. So I'm looking into grants and I'm finding several from the National Endowment For The Arts that seem just right but are only for non-profit organizations, and I'm wondering if we can somehow create one and then pay those who deserve to be paid but agree to use any money beyond that directly to the cause. Can this work or will I always just be a for-profit business? Thanks If it interests any of you, the following is the grant I want, if not now, then in the future. An organization may submit only one application through one of the following FY 2011 Grants for Arts Projects categories: Access to Artistic Excellence, Challenge America Fast-Track, Learning in the Arts for Children and Youth. The Arts Endowment's support of a project may start on or after June 1, 2011. Introduction The National Endowment for the Arts is committed to providing leadership in arts education by inspiring all young Americans through rich arts experiences. A high quality education in the arts opens a critical gateway to a lifetime of appreciation and engagement. For two reasons, learning in the arts is an indispensable part of American education: 1) children celebrate and participate in their cultural inheritance, and 2) academic and social maturity follow directly from arts education experiences. The Learning in the Arts for Children and Youth category offers funding for projects that help children and youth acquire knowledge and understanding of and skills in the arts. Projects must provide participatory learning and engage students with skilled artists, teachers, and excellent art. Funded projects apply national or state arts education standards. All projects submitted to the Learning in the Arts category must include: Experience: Students and their teachers will have the chance to experience exemplary works of art -- in live form where possible. Study: Through the guidance of teachers, teaching artists, and cultural organizations, students will study works of art in order to understand the cultural and social context from which they come, and to appreciate the technical and/or aesthetic qualities of each work. Where appropriate, study will include the acquisition of skills relevant to practicing the art form. Performance: Informed by their experience and study, students will create artwork. In the case of literature, the primary creative activities will be writing and/or recitation. Assessment: Students will be assessed according to national or state arts education standards. Where appropriate, projects will employ multiple forms of assessment including pre- and post-testing. NOTE: The required Learning in the Arts components may be provided in partnership with other organizations. The Arts Endowment strongly endorses the arts as a core academic subject area. Organizations must provide curriculum frameworks and carefully designed evaluations to assess every child's progress in achieving proficiency in the arts. In this category, the Arts Endowment hopes to call attention to projects that recognize and cultivate best practices in the field of arts education for children and youth. Learning in the Arts projects may take place in school-based or community-based settings and should focus on children and youth in the general age range of 5 through 18 years. (NOTE: Adult and intergenerational learning is supported under Access to Artistic Excellence.) moreVoting Question: What should I study to become rich?
I'm 17 and graduating and I'm not sure what to look into. I love cars. If I could get a job driving at a track, My life would be complete. But, odds are, I won't make it rich that way. Not where I come from. Which is Vermont by the way. (hate working on cars. the joy is felling the power for me). I also want to get into body work, and aftermarket. I grew up driving cars (mostly illegally, friends older brothers etc). I wanted to be an electrician, but its been said so many times its appearing blah. I also have to wait a few years until I can even get an apprenticeship, top begin learning. Let me add, I hate any kind of school work. The only way I learn is in the field. But I'm also thinking about business, marketing or something upon those lines. Nobody else seems to follow those paths. Half of my friends are going into the military, and the other half, have no problem working at a grocery store. (they actually make serious bank). I'd like to save this year for a really nice car next year, with extra for rent and in case anything happens. My goal is at least 10k for a year and a half. My parents are going to move out (haha, yeah. they're moving to Texas. But there's no jobs down there for me). I really am open too all ideas. I come form a really bad place, and want to prove to the rest of my family I'm not brain dead, and I can make money if I'm not in the military. My grandfather is retired form the Special Forces, and CIA (he was the first to use the "sky hook" in the 50's after being a purple heart, and POW.) My dad is a car salesman/dealer and "entrepreneur". Everyone else either married rich or is a lawyer. Or owns a business. I don't know what to do. But money really is the object of my life. I have all the friends to last me another life. I don't mind shitty work, but It needs to bring in money. Where should I start? I really am clueless. moreResolved Question: Social studies, american goverment please help?

Why charity lost its meaning in respect of educational institutions and people simply aim for minting money through this as a lucrative business. I studied in a very small village till school final. That school was opened in 1956 by C.Subramaniam the then Central Cabinet Minister. The school managed by Government and the donor was honoured only on the school day only and no other interference in the management by the donor. “The American Dream” Nowadays people think that “The American Dream” is alive and well. To other people the dream is dying everyday little by little. There are millions of people going through hard times struggling to keep their homes and trying to stay out of debt. There have been several cases of home foreclosures, high unemployment rates and illegal immigration. Many people ask, “What causes home foreclosures?” The recent study of home foreclosures has been started by a number of things. First, the economy and the jobless rate people are losing more and more of their jobs across the country. Second, loss of said job can put you behind the 8-ball with no financial support. Also, illness and death can play a role here. Taxes also play a role with death taxes, insurance taxes and home taxes leading the way. Most people see the U.S. a safe and easy why to get out of things. Though nearly one in four households have zero net worth or is in debt and owes more than they own. Like David Francis said “Income mobility has declined in the last 20 years.” Has the “American Dream” been oversold? For years the “American Dream” has been to own a home. The home ownership rate has fallen at least four quarters since 2007 to its lowest level since the beginning of 2002. Eighteen million homes are empty stretched across this country. Last year there where almost over one million empty home just in the United States, bulks and bulks of increase of homes have been lost, of course, is in foreclosed homes (David R. Francis). Here is something to think about there are more empty homes in neighborhoods across America, as the home ownership rate continues to fall. Where’s the “American Dream” hiding in all that? There is a high unemployment in the United States. The unemployment rates vary from state to state in the United States. December of 2007 the unemployment rate nationwide was five percent. That’s two percent below average. Most workers under the age of twenty-five are more likely to be unemployed. Jobs held by younger workers are laid off more often. Young people tend to have less experience and less education. Unemployment rates are affecting everyone in America. According to studies, unemployment has increased steadily over the past decade. The growing population is one of the leading reasons to the unemployment rate. As to another is there are a lot of immigration taking over job because they are willing to take lower wages. (McGinn, Daniel) Some people feel that illegal immigration is affecting all Americans. As mentioned in the last paragraph illegal immigrants are getting most of our jobs. Owners of businesses are laying off their workers mostly due to not being able to afford their wages. So the owner lies off their workers and hires immigrants because they will accept lower wages. Immigration causes several problems in the U.S., such as education disputes, crime, and overcrowding. From studies, these problems have already affected American itself. People estimate that fifty-thousand illegal aliens may get across the border every year. Immigrants are costing tax payers billions of dollars. Immigrants drain funds enormously by taking advantage of welfare. Immigration are causing a dramatic growth in population. hello this my friend life story I grew up with an innate sense of justice and fairness, constantly uneasy and at odds with the oppressive Islamic regime in Iran, both in my schooling and in the wider society. I was expelled from school when I was 17 years old and was banned from every high school in the region because of my political activities. Despite this I became a professional footballer and ran my own clothing business. As I grew older I became more actively involved in the movement for democracy against the fundamentalist regime. But unfortunately my political activism against the barbaric rule led me to prison, torture, and finally to the point that I had to flee for my life. > After a very stressful and frightening journey, I arrived in Britain in November 1995 and applied for asylum. Life was very different. Little information of the outside world had penetrated Iran and I found the culture very shocking. I spoke no English and felt completely isolated. I spent months in a detention centre unable to understand what was happening to me. I was suddenly released with no information or guidance as to what to do next. > Five years passed with no decision from the Home Office. In this time I managed to learn the language, find a job and make a life and a home for myself in London . Between 1997 and 1998 I undertook and completed an ESOL elementary certificate at North West College , Kilburn. In 1998 I began a National Diploma in Business and Finance at Kingsway College , Kings Cross. I completed a year of this three year programme, however, after receiving an unconditional offer to study for a BSc degree in Computer Science and Maths I transferred to North London University (now Metropolitan University ). Unfortunately after only two weeks my asylum application was refused and under UK law I had to withdraw from the programme. > My hopes were shattered as the Home Office refused my case and my studies were taken away from me. I was told I was not allowed to work any more and I was not entitled to any help from the government. I was told that I would be deported back to Iran where I would face capital punishment because of my political beliefs and my religion – I am a Christian. > I spent nearly two years sleeping rough, moving from place to place and other four years in destitution however, I refused to become a criminal. My weight dropped and I became seriously depressed. I was admitted to hospital twice, severely malnourished. My lowest point came when I was admitted to a mental health institution and placed under suicide watch. I decided to fight back and started campaigning against this injustice as I realised that no-one deserves to die like this. > I started to educate myself in asylum legislation and migration issues. I learnt my country Iran is the second largest host of refugees in the world after USA and the UK was number 9 in Europe alone. The UK was the 4th largest economy in the world Iran ranked far below economically and took far more refugees. Yet it was in Britain that certain politicians and sections of the media was saying the country was flooded with (bogus) asylum seekers. > Through my research I became aware of organisations that helped refugees and asylum seekers. People provided me with accommodation and I began campaigning in earnest. I learnt more about the way the Home Office is run, the way that immigration is used as a tool of politics and the resulting policy decisions that are taken. > It was very hard to fight without any resources but I was determined to bring changes to the system. I started working with humanitarian organisations such as Amnesty, UNHCR, Refugee Council, Liberty and Churches Together to break the myths of asylum and show the reality of how people fleeing persecution are really treated. I completed a course in Human Rights Advocacy run by Amnesty International and Education Action International. At the end of the course my certificate was presented by Shami Chakrabarti who became a great supporter of my case. I trained with London Citizens on the Community Leaders programme. I spoke with national and international media including the BBC, Sky News, Channel 5, The Independent, The Telegraph, Channel 2 in France and many others. I made a film with Amnesty and Nick Broomfield as part of their Still Human, Still Here campaign. This short film can be viewed here: please click on the second box in the page (lady with the green T shirt). Hey everyone, I know this is a decision only I can make but I would really appreciate some help and advice. I've been thinking about leaving sixth form recently (I'm in the lower sixth) as I'm just not enjoying it. At the beginning of the school year I was attending a different sixth form completely (I took law, business, psychology and archaeology) and a week later changed back to my old secondary schools sixth form because of personal reasons. I was forced to choose subjects I wasn't particularly interested in (History, geology and ICT but I do actually love working with the computers and the challenges that come with the work). My exams are fast approaching now and I really don't want to be stuck doing this when the whole idea of carrying on with the courses is stressing me out. My parents know how I feel and they don't like that i'm not happy with my studies but they've brought me up to know that things won't be handed to me on a plate in my life and insist that if I leave I must get a job which I completly agree with. I'm not afraid of hard work in case you're wondering and I did pretty well in my GCSE's: English - BB Maths - CC Science - BC Business Studies - BC Childcare - C French - D ICT - Merit (BB) R.E & Citizenship - B I'm not a loud person but i'm not shy either so I don't think I would annoy the people I worked with if I had a job. I like relaxing sure, but i'm definately not lazy and will quite happily get on with the job in hand. I'm 16 (17 in June) and when I pass my driving test I don't want to be like everyong else and get my parents to buy me a car. I want to feel like i've actually earnt the money myself and then I think i'll appreciate it more. I would be so grateful for any help and advice you can give whether its positive of negative! Thanks very much. Also I'm pretty sure I want to work in an computer related environment as I know this would be something I would enjoy doing :) thanks for your quick responses! moreResolved Question: my life is moving to fast i think i might die young. is this normal or do i have issues?
I am 21. i do not study at uni. But i own my own part time business and work in a bar the rest of the time. ever since i was young i had issues when i was at school. issues which made me grow shy and make me push myself away from friends. as i have grown older i did gain my confidence again. something happened last year where my confidence was pretty much taken away from me without me having a choice. AGAIN! the only problem is. is tht this time i did not want to live with any of it at all. And everyday there became this feeling in my head of everything at once. And due to the situation they were depressing thoughts not the good type tht make you happy. and i started alcohol abuse and drug abuse again. and became a reck untill i met my fantastic new girl friend. who has helped me out of depression so much. now i still have the same problem where i think to much which is good because i have a very business orientated mind and do plan to be a entrepeneur one day as i know seem to have a million and one business ideas now. the only problem is tht 1. i get serious head ache's, 2.it is causing me a bad case of insomnia, and 3. i am so scared tht i will just go back to being depressed again? does anyone know what i should do or who i can talk to? preferably not a doctor. moreResolved Question: Help? I am an Undeclared College Major. I am going to a school with a concentration in Engineering Science and?
I feel that I don't know how to go about understanding it. Ever since I was young I've had ambitions to go into Science-oriented fields like Paleontology, Astrophysics, and I've also had thoughts of becoming a pilot. I feel that I am kind of a compulsive decision-maker and that I can't hold my attention too long on one particular field without thinking that I'm bad at it alongside almost anything else that enters my mind. I feel that I may be doing something wrong because my GPA has taken a beating this semester and I feel that I may be behind many of the people who go to my college because I probably didn't learn enough in High School. I've been told that this is a common experience for many people, but I feel that I must be uniquely disadvantaged because of my past failures to acquaint myself with a more rigorous education. I did really well in High school but I feel I got good grades from my teachers because I either came across in a way that made them pity me for worrying too much or simply like me more than they should have. I don't want to feel held back by anything but I feel it might be too late to change my life for the better. I also have never held a real job before and I probably don't have that much real world experience because I've never explored my options on my own and I am quite socially awkward. I've felt this way before but when one is blissfully unaware of everything throughout even grammar school is it really too late to move past the Hedonism of one's bygone days? Do I have a bad attitude? How much do College grades really count in the real world when it is hard to make a social impression on an employer? How can I change myself when my parents and siblings think I just worry too much. I am 18 years old and am doing somewhat poorly in Math and Computer Science. I could be on the verge of failing the latter class although that is the case with many people who took it alongside me this semester. How do I realize that I can pursue my passions when I don't know what they are or where they fit into place in the future job market? Someone help? I still have lots of ideas of what I could do with myself involving such things as business administration, counseling, political studies, and Neuroscience but I feel I am just dreaming things up and am grossly unprepared for what's ahead. I still take interests in some Engineering related fields which would probably be useful for the Defense Industry and Civil Engineering but I feel I am too impractical for any of what I like to do. I feel like a hopeless idiot intimidated by everything and everyone with possibly no real world skills at all. I can’t even make myself useful at home I feel. moreResolved Question: I have this idea what i think could make me millions, i just don't know where to take it from?
Basically i have this merchandise idea, i really do reckon it could be the new Lacoste, if you know what i mean? This sounds really big headed but i don't want to tell you what it is just in case it really can make millions on this enterprise. I just don't know where to take this idea? I'm 16 years old leaving school in two months to do business studies in college. now this really does sound big headed but if somebody could tell me how to go ahead with this idea i'd be willing to give them a cut of this enterprise if i ever do make it, just leave me an email address. thanks. moreVoting Question: I need advice on this. Please Answer?
Ok guys, Shawn here, i'm gonna try and nutshell this one. I just broke up with my gf of 15 months a month and some change ago. Now since then she's told me that she's going to join the army. She's also told me that someone likes her. Now, to me, I felt like she has already moved on, and forgot about me, like she doesn't want to talk to; however, that may not be the case. Now, I've been keeping busy while pledging for Delta Sigma Pi(Professional Business Fraternity), and i've told myself that I will be single until I'm 30 so I can remain focused on my career and school. I'm 18 right now. Here's the problem, I met this girl, Morgan, now she's really cute, diligent, and friendly but i'm not sure if I'm attracted to her. She's in a social sorority, but she's not like the rest of her sorority sisters, she's more focused, a business major, and she actually has goals. I mean there's feelings, like lingering feelings, like to the point where I wouldn't mind if she made a move and asked me out. however, I don't think i'm ready to move on just yet, as my ex-girlfriend was my first girlfriend whom I will never forget. Morgan and I will be having lunch tomorrow alone to study and chit chat, and i'm not sure on what to do. We just met up on Wednesday and hit it off then. Then yesterday I walked her to class, and there was an awkward moment after that where I felt like I should've went in for the hug. I'm not sure on what to do, I don't want to pursue her only to get crushed, however, I am curious to see what could happen. My question is what should I do? I'm leaning towards just living my life and going on with my pact of being single till 30. Answers/Advice? Thanks. Shawn.BTW, i'm not looking for some fling, I'd love a relationship where I could get to know the other person on a whole new level over a long period of time, you know?We broke up because of trust issues, family issues, being taken advantage ofand we broke up on February 19th of 2010. moreResolved Question: How come studying at university is less stressful than in high school?
I'm studying at university for the first year now, and I can't help myself to wonder how come I'm so much more happy like this. In high school we got set timetables. Now I schedule my lessons myself and choose the ones I want to attend. We spend about 2-3 hours on one lesson, as opposed to 45 minutes each lesson in high school - the switching of subjects was really terrible for me. Also, I have more space between lessons. This may mean (an extreme case) I attend a lesson at 8 in the morning, one at 1 in the afternoon and one at 6 in the evening, but I really can mentally divide them, as opposed to high school where I only ended up with messed up pieces of information in my head after the whole day. Now I actually remember things. Now I know when I will be taking my tests, in high school there was more or less a system of surprise unannounced tests. I used to be in constant chronic stress I couldn't see the end of. Now I'm pretty stressed out from taking my tests, but I find this kind of stress actually helps me concentrate, as opposed to the stress in high school that only robed me of my concentration and energy. And no one really cares about how I perform, no stern teachers telling me off for my results - now it's completely up to me and it's my business. I find this many times more motivating. I feel I finally want to perform the best I can because of myself, not because I don't want to annoy some teacher. But how come it's this better now? Shouldn't the lower levels of education be easier? (in terms of how you learn, I mean) I don't get it. If a similar system was used in high school, I could have avoided depression and that terrible exhaustion from stress so easily... Why? moreResolved Question: Is this path a reality or shall I rethink now?
Ok I'm from the UK and basically I've nearly got my GCSE qualifications (I'm in year 11), I'm predicted: Maths - C English lang/lit - C Applied Science - C Core Science - C Business studies - C Electronics - B History - D Resistant Materials - C I.T - C/C (OCR Qualification, my school doesn't do GCSE for I.T). I've applied for Sixth form and have chosen the following subjects Law Business Studies English Language History half way through, I'm probably going to drop History (so I get half of the A-level and more time to concentrate on the others). Lets say I get all C's (worst case scenario, im going to put my head down in sixth form and reach for the B's), thats 280 UCAS Points, I've seen a local university which offers a Law LLB hons degree and the minimum entry requirement is 200 Ucas points minimum and 300 recommended and there is no specific A-level requirement, ok so I can get anywhere from 280-420 points (All C's to all A's) is this the right path to take? Have I worked out anything wrong? I want to become a solicitor and, well possibly work my way up to a barister (depends how I am feeling at the time, at the moment thats a dream LOL alot of hard work). and how does the LLB Hons law degree work? after graduation will I need to go into training or anything to become a solicitor? thanks. Degree info - http://www.bradford.ac.uk/management/programmes/undergraduate/uglaw/ataglance/ops, for the OCR ICT I mean't a Pass, I was thinking of BTEC's then... I'm not doing any of those haha.History, well I've got A/B's on the coursework, the mock exams maybe not so well, D's, but my real exam is about 40 days away and I'm revising like hell, need some more knowledge up there and I hope I'll do fine, mainly sourcework questions I end up explaining the source instead of the message, i'm working on bringing that up to a C or better at the moment. College, well I'm planning to do Sixth form at school then to maybe bradford university or leeds university (they have a law school there). I know law isnt nessesary at A-level I just thought it'd help, never the less I will think about your advice. thanks for the post. moreResolved Question: Since When Protest Is Illegal?
Challenging Israel’s war on protest Pip Hinman 13 March 2010 Bridget Chappell, an Australian solidarity worker in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, was arrested by occupying Israeli forces on February 7 and threatened with deportation for simply engaging in peaceful protests alongside Palestinians. Solidarity activists have asked Australia’s foreign affairs department to intervene in support of Chappell to allow her to continue her work in the West Bank. Chappell was arrested in a pre-dawn raid for alleged “visa irregularities” — even though she had a valid bridging visa. At the time, Chappell’s arrest featured prominently in the Australian media. But since the Israeli Supreme Court declared her arrest illegal and released them on bail on February 9 the case has faded from view. Chappell is fighting to be able to continue her work in the West Bank with the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) — a Palestinian-led movement committed to resisting the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land using non-violent direct action. She is also fighting attempts by the Israeli government to have her deported — the fate of other ISM volunteers. Israel’s “war on protest” — as Israeli daily Haaretz put it — is intended to undermine a joint non-violent campaign by international activists and Palestinian villagers challenging a land grab by Israel as it builds the separation wall on farmland in the West Bank. The arrests are in response to those organising protests against the wall. The last major confrontation between Israel and the ISM resulted in deaths and injuries of international activists at the hands of the Israeli army. The horrendous case of US ISM volunteer Rachel Corrie, who was run down and killed by an army bulldozer in 2003 as she attempted to stop a home demolition in Gaza, is the most well known. On March 10, the Haifa District Court began hearing eyewitness testimonies in a civil lawsuit filed by Corrie’s family against the state of Israel for her unlawful killing. Chappell told Green Left Weekly that she is very worried about being able stay. She said Israel does not want people, like herself, bearing witness to Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine, and its continued settlement building. She is concerned that Australia’s consular assistance has been minimal. Given the Australian government’s close relationship with Israel, a number of people have signed a letter, drafted by the Sydney Stop the War Coalition, urging the foreign affairs department to assist Chappell. The letter states that Chappell was not participating in “illegal riots”, as claimed by the arresting officials, and that she “was certainly not involved in the dirty business of scamming passports to assassinate political leaders – as agents of the Israeli state have allegedly been recently caught out doing”. The statement concluded: “We would like to know what Australian consular officials are doing to assist Ms Chappell. She should be allowed to return to the West Bank; she should not be deported.” Signatories include (organisations listed for identification purposes only): John Pilger; Antony Loewenstein; Archdeacon Philip Newman; Dr Jake Lynch (Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies, Sydney University), Peter Slezak (School of History amd Philosophy, UNSW), Vivienne Porzsolt (Jews Against the Occupation), Cathy Peters (Marrickville Greens councillor), Ned Curthoys (Australian National University), Peter Boyle (Socialist Alliance) and Sonja Karkar (Australians for Palestine). Was Manny Villar really ever poor? AS I WRECK THIS CHAIR By William M. Esposo (The Philippine Star) Updated February 07, 2010 12:00 AM “Nakaligo ka na ba sa dagat ng basura? (Have you bathed in a sea of garbage?)” is the opening line of the jingle of Nacionalista Party presidential candidate Manny Villar which is featured in a television commercial that attempts to project him as having been one of the poorest of the poor. But was Manny Villar really one of the poorest of the poor as what his advertising has been projecting? A Chair Wrecker reader from Tondo who claimed to know the Villar family when they still resided there debunked that notion of Villar ever having been poor. This information was relayed to yours truly via our response email address. The former Villar family Tondo neighbor cited reference points to support his assertion that Manny Villar was never really poor — including the claim that Villar’s father used to have a “nikaladong (stainless steel clad)” private Jeep. During the 1950s, a nikaladong private Jeep is a status symbol in Tondo, definitely not the hallmark of a poor household. Considering how Manny Villar has been dodging the serious issues pertaining to his use of public office in order to add immense benefits and profits to his businesses, your Chair Wrecker decided to do some investigating. Guess what Manny Villar’s online bio revealed: “Manuel Villar Jr. was born on December 13, 1949 in Tondo, a densely populated district of Manila. He was the second of nine children of Manuel Villar Sr., a government employee, and Curita Bamba, a seafood dealer. As a young boy, he helped his mother sell fish, crabs, and shrimp in Divisoria to help earn money to pay for his education. Villar finished his education at Holy Child Catholic School in 1962, and finished his high school education at Mapua Institute of Technology in 1966. He attended the University of the Philippines-Diliman and earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1970. He returned to the same school to earn his master’s degree in business administration in 1973.” In the early 1950s, the rich lived in the big compounds in Ermita and Pasay and what was called New Manila in Quezon City. In Tondo, you found the middle class and the poor as well. Former president Joseph Estrada also claims roots in Tondo but his family was never poor. Based on his online bio, Villar cannot really justify calling himself poor. The Villar Tondo home, as shown on his 2009 TV commercials, was made of sturdy materials. It has lasted to this day. His father was employed while his mother operated a fish, crab and shrimp dealership in lucrative Divisoria Market. It may not be Class AB household income but it is definitely not Class E. Proof that the Villar children were never really wanting is the fact that Manny Villar studied in private schools. The indigent kids went to public school. Enrolling one’s child in a private school is a middle class value and option. The indigent kids who do manage to finish high school would tend to immediately learn a craft in order to be able to earn money right away. Aspiring for a business administration master’s degree is not the usual post high school move of indigent kids. Villar narrated on his 2009 TV commercial, with Boy Abunda interviewing him, that as a young kid he thought that corned beef was soupy because that was how they used to prepare it at home. This, he claimed, was their way to ensure that everybody had a share. But the fact is that there are really two ways to cook canned corned beef. One is the dry sautéed type while the other is the soupy type where you can add potatoes and cabbage. Both the rich and the middle class enjoy corned beef both ways. Also, poor folks, especially a family of eleven, CANNOT AFFORD to eat canned corned beef. For a family of 11 to be eating corned beef confirms that the Villar family is anything but poor. That was the case then and more so now when the poor go hungry or manage to eat only one meal a day. Up to the 1980s, people from the provinces consider it a status symbol to be eating corned beef. That is why canned foodstuffs, especially corned beef, are being displayed in the sala by many households in the provinces for these to be seen by visitors. For Manny Villar to don this facade of being “poor” once upon a time just to gain political advantage should make every Filipino voter ponder as to what else he would be willing to do just to attain his objective. Hi, I was always a good student and school and so got into a top 10 undergraduate business school majoring in Business Law, Management, Marketing and minoring in French. I plan on going to law school after this (my dream schools would be Michigan, Cornell, Georgetown, Emory or Notre Dame). Once I got into college, I lost focus for a while in my second semester of freshman year, and so I have a massive drop in my GPA (from 3.7 to 3.2, giving me a cumulate of about 3.45). After I realized my mistake, it realized it was much tougher to get my grades up than I thought it would be. This school is very accounting, finance and stats oriented and so we have to take many, many quantitative sort of courses which are mandatory (and I find these very difficult). I find my business law class very easy and fun (I'm just better oriented for things like that). So now I'm in my second semester of sophomore year and almost done with all non-major mandatory classes (accounting, finance, stats) but I realize it is nearly impossible for me to raise my GPA above a 3.4 until I get these classes out of the way and can take all business law courses. So the question is- if I graduate with a 3.6 GPA, two good, strong internships, and A LOT of extracurricular work (a paid teaching assistant position to a business law professor, founded a management workshop, founded a legal case analysis workshop (president of both workshops) helped new businesses in this college town with establishing themselves (still getting this club underway), paid research work in entrepreneurial trends amongst minorities, and do more and more work with the business law department) and get a solid LSAT score, above a 170, and a strong GPA in my major (not so much in my mandatory classes during freshman and sophomore years) and a semester study abroad, and some work (1-2 yrs) experience in corporate law after undergraduate- do you think I have a chance of getting into any of these law schools? moreResolved Question: How good are my chances or being accepted into MIT?
I go to a college preparatory school, and I want to go to MIT for undergraduate college. I had a 3.3 GPA in my freshman year, and was in Algebra I reg, Geography reg, English reg, biology reg, Spanish 1 reg, and physical education. Over the summer I did volunteer work at a camp for mentally handicapped children in South Florida. In my sophomore year I took Latin I H, Acting I H, English 10 reg., Chemistry H, Algebra II H, and World History H. and got a weighted 4.1 (unweighted 3.7). Over the summer and during the year I worked with a mentor on a research project (he is MIT alumni and will right my letter of recommendation), I took a summer pre-calc, geometry, and online health class, and worked at the camp again. My sophomore year, I scored a 34 on the ACT and 2250 on the SATs, i got National Merit Scholarship with my PSAT scores, I took two SAT subject tests (math and science) and aced both. I worked with my mentor again and was a semifinalist in a local science fair. I helped establish a robotics club at my school, and was a part of Future Business Leaders of America club. In eleventh grade i took an independent case study program as an elective, Latin on FLV (an online class), Spanish II H, English 11 H, Chemistry AP, Physics B AP, Calculus AB, US History AP. I got a weighted GPA of 4.8, Unweighted 4.0. Over the summer i took multiple college classes in science and robotics, continued my volunteer job, and went to the MIT RSI summer program for six weeks. In 12th grade I am taking the Independent case study elective, Latin III of FLV, Spanish III H, AP English Literature, Physics C, Calculus BC, Statistics, gov/eco AP. and have a 4.9 weighted or 4.0 unweighted. moreResolved Question: Are there any business oriented High schools in Minneapolis?

I'm a second semester junior in college right now, majoring in accounting, and I am currently thinking about writing my resume for employment after school. I don't have many things to list other than a high GPA, but here's what I have: High school - Three full years of being in a college concert band on trumpet, plus private trumpet lessons throughout this time. Graduated in top 5th of my class. Community college - member of the New Jersey Stars scholarship program and Phi Theta Kappa. Earned Associate's degree in Business with 3.79 GPA (out of 4.0). Current 4 year college - Member of the NJ Stars II scholarship program, high GPA so far. Only been here for a semester and a half, but plan on joining the fishing club for a semester (the college counts it as a sport) and hopefully get an internship for a semester/summer. My personal strengths - punctual, opposite of a procrastinator, hard worker, good attention to detail, etc. Now, I was wondering how far back in my past I should go when deciding what to put on my resume. I have heard that putting high school activities/achievements is considered bad form, but since I graduated from a community college before attending a university, is it also bad form to include anything before my time at my current 4 year college? Obviously, I won't have to cut out too many things because I don't have much listed. Also, is it useful at all to include unrelated sports (fishing club) on a resume? If I'm supposed to cut out high school (pretty sure) and community college (not as sure) all I would be left with is my soon-to-be Bachelor's degree with, hopefully, a high GPA, my good work and study habits, an unrelated sport, and a small chance of landing an internship. I have no work or volunteer experience to speak of, which is bad I know. To make a long story short: in my case, how far back should I go when preparing my resume? Thanks a lot moreResolved Question: Im a international students that is going to study in USA for university.?

I'll be grateful If anyone knowing these schools could give me some advices!ok,then what about FU? moreVoting Question: Will I be able to get into a good college? Or medical school?
You guys probably get a ton of questions like this here. My apologies if I've just added to the great cycle of worried high school kids asking questions. Anyway, I'm sixteen years old, a junior in high school, with the end of the school year rapidly approaching. I haven't always made the best choices in my life, and unfortunately, school is contained in the category of "life". My grades freshmen year were average at best, my math scores probably a bit low. Things slipped majorly the first trimester of my sophomore year, as I go either a failing grade or a D- in my Business Management class. This was primarily my fault, as I'd missed the two weeks of school immediately following the first (I'll get to that in a bit). My performance improved dramatically the second trimester, and I finished the year with almost all As, and a B+ in my Geometry course. The first trimester of this year, I got all As and Bs. This current term is almost over, and the case will most likely be the same. And honestly, that's not very good for me. I am, by no means, a stupid person (nor am I an overtly arrogant one), and I could probably get all As if I bothered to actually do my homework, rather than rely on test and quiz grades to get me through. I know that colleges don't look solely at grades when considering applicants. The thing that I didn't quite mention is that I have a juvenile record, comprised of two counts of second degree home invasion, which I acquired my sophomore year. Will having this blemish on my history disqualify me from receiving student loans? Would a fairly prestigious school still consider me, in light of my past actions? Overall, is it still possible for me to get into a great school if I get above-average scores on my ACT exam next week, and continue to get decent grades? It sucks that I even have to ask this question. Sadly, the governor of my state, Michigan, eliminated the "Promise Scholarship", that guaranteed money to kids who did well on their MEAP tests. And my social studies scores were literally better than over 99% of other students in the state. I heard something or another about how I was within the top 700 in the nation, in regards to the aforementioned category. I'm not bragging there. I'm venting. Ruddy economy. No offense Tim, but you obviously don't know anything about the legal system... moreResolved Question: Where can I get High school English, grammar and literature worksheets for Aussie kids?

JANESVILLE, Wis. – In the early dawn, after another week building cars, Michael Hanley leaves his job in Kansas. He quickly zips into Missouri, then heads up a ribbon of highway past grain silos and grazing deer, across the frozen fields of Iowa, over the Mississippi River and into the rolling hills of Wisconsin. Finally, he pulls into his driveway — 530 miles later. It's one heck of a haul: more than 1,000 miles roundtrip, 16-plus hours of driving, every week. "I like to say I gave up an eight-minute commute for an eight-hour commute," he says wearily, running a hand though salt-and-pepper hair as he watches his two sons play basketball for the first time this season. After the aging General Motors plant where he worked for 23 years was idled about a year ago, Hanley faced a Hobson's choice: Stay with his family and search for an autoworker's salary ($28 an hour) in a county where more than 40 percent of its manufacturing jobs disappeared from 2006 to 2009. Or hang on to his GM paycheck and health insurance and follow the job, no matter where it leads. In his case, it led to Fairfax, Kan., the same place his brother and two brothers-in-law — also GM workers, and now his roommates — landed. For others, it has been Indiana or Texas. The long commute is not just a story of hard times, tough choices and a shrinking American auto industry. It's also a case study of what happens when an aging industrial town loses an anchor, when workers too old to start over and too young to retire are caught in a squeeze and when economic survival means one family, but two far-flung ZIP codes. ___ Hanley is not one to complain. "GM has been good for us," he says. "This whole town knows that." For 90 years, the sprawling plant — it started out building tractors — became a different kind of family business. Through the decades, sons followed fathers onto the line, sometimes rubbing shoulders as they built Chevy Cavaliers, Caprices, Tahoes, Suburbans and more. Hanley's father and brother worked there. So did his father-in-law, two brothers-in-law and an assortment of uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. But as GM's financial troubles mounted, car and SUV sales fell and gas prices climbed, the automaker closed several plants, eliminating thousands of jobs. Janesville — then the oldest of GM assembly plants — ended production of SUVs in December 2008, months before the automaker received billions of dollars in government loans and filed for bankruptcy. (The factory is on standby status; some hold out hope it will reopen one day.) Some of about 1,200 remaining workers took buyouts or retired; some began new careers. Hundreds more stayed with GM, relocating, commuting or just waiting for an opening. The automaker has about 6,500 laid-off workers nationwide. Even before the doors closed, Hanley began preparing for life after GM. He returned to college to complete two credits he needed for an accounting degree, but an offer in Kansas came first. He didn't hesitate. Auto work these days is like playing musical chairs. You grab an opening where you can. Hanley didn't want to lose his health insurance while his wife, Laura, was receiving costly chemotherapy treatments for a blood disease that will likely lead to cancer. The medical bills last year, she says, were in the tens of thousands of dollars. "There's no way I could possibly go through one treatment without him having insurance," she says. Like many other divided GM families, the Hanleys decided even though the job was important, there were reasons not to uproot everyone: Laura works at their sons' Catholic school, the boys are immersed in band, Scouts, basketball and church, and the sale of a house was an iffy and perhaps money-losing proposition. Hanley knew it would be a trade-off — financial security for a lonely existence. His eyes mist as he talks about what he misses: dinner with his family, coaching basketball, going to the YMCA with his boys, wrestling with them at night, attending their concerts and games, watching them grow up. "It's an adjustment, not being home," he says. "I probably sounded cruel because I said I wouldn't miss my wife as much because she's going to be there when I come back, when I retire. But those years with the kids aren't going to be there. That's the hard part, not being able to be around them. ... I don't know if I really appreciated it before." Hanley plans to commute another 18 months, until he turns 50, hoping for a retirement package then — something, he says, he "prays about every night." Laura, meanwhile, does double duty as a single parent. It's all overwhelming — working, shuttling her sons around, keeping an eye on her elderly mother and worrying about her husband's long commutes. "The kids are tired of seeing mom cry because she's stressed and seeing dad cry when he needs to go back to work," she says. "We're really close — the four of us. Hi there, I'm an 18 year old male currently in the 2nd term of 1st year university. I have a physical disability (cerebral palsy) affecting my legs but i can walk on my own, i only get tired easily. I am studying math/business at one of the best schools in the world. i won't say which in case people reading can identify who i am. the math here is very tough but i have always loved math since i was a kid so i know this is definitely where i want to be. i've also always grown up with the beliefs of going to university as all my cousins have. sometimes i wonder though, is all of this worth it? I ask because something happened today that made me wonder. I had a week off from school so I went home. I worked hard on assignments the whole week and decided it was Friday night and I should take a break. We moved into a new house so we lost our tv remote and use a digital cable one. I thought I could play Xbox for the rest of the night and then sleep but i find that i can't play without the tv remote to switch between inputs. I was so angry(maybe immature), but it was after working without breaks. Then I figured this may pretty much sum up the rest of my life. Ever since I was a kid, I always felt I was special. I was destined for something great and I was indeed deemed "gifted" through standard testing when I was 8. However, as I went into high school things changed. I went to a middle school with low standards and was told I was wasting my future, though I didn't believe it at the time. My school focused more on behaviour and it was one of the worst schools in the region, I hated the students there to be honest although I did score 90s. Those marks came easy though. I applied for advanced program in high school and got accepted though I dropped out of it after grade 10 because I felt I worked too hard and it wasn't worth it. Alot of others were dropping out of it as well but we stayed at the same high school. I worked so hard in Grade 11 and 12 and while my marks were in the 80s, I still feel like I worked much harder than anyone else. I had friends and believe I was well liked but sometimes I wondered whether i worked too hard in high school. I also had a crush on the most popular girl in school in grade 11 and she eventually found out. She was nice to me and I felt like she tried flirting with me but I never knew she knew about my situtation and wasn't sure what her actions meant. I got jealous of other guys that hung out with her so i'd always argue(jokingly) in class with people to the point where she thought i was annoying. I eventually talked to her about my feelings but I felt stiffed in the situation though i never told anyone. she was nice to me since but i always felt deep down she had a bit of a grudge against me or that it was always awkward seeing her. last time i saw her was at graduation where we had an awkward "hi" as we crossed paths. Then university came and I love the people and new friends I've made. However sometimes I wonder if again I work too hard. People are partying and having fun while I'm studying. I like to be social but how can I when I'm always studying? This week sums it all up. When I logged on to facebook earlier this week, I got an update of people commenting on the profile picture of the girl I used to like. It was a picture of her kissing her boyfriend lip to lip. It sort of shocked me though I don't like her like before. I don't know her bf well but I heard he was a bit of a flirt although she is too. I just felt she was so caring and nice and that I looked better with her but I don't care as much as before. What really ticked me off is the Xbox. I mean i work hard and instead i see my old crush kissing and then no time to relax at all. I finally ask is this all worth it? Maybe to the math nerd but truth is I don't believe I am one. I like to be social, go clubbing, etc. I know about current entertainment and am a big time sports fan. I live in Toronto so I am very passionate about hockey, baseball, basketball, and football. My role model since I was 7 was Mats Sundin(retired hockey player) and I always bring up sports in convos with friends. So I'm no nerd, I like to be social but I thought, I worked hard in high school and now and still don't feel satisfied like everyone else does. I feel like even after compeleting university, I get a job which pays well but I'll still be WORKING!! And somehow, I'll still feel dissatisfied and wish I could have fun. I just wish i could experience things everyone else does. Have the social life, date girls, and find a way to balance my lifestyle but maybe i can never do it. I used to be such a positive guy but the last year or so has changed me. moreResolved Question: Why are Recruitment Agencies and Employers being so dam ruthless?
why are recruitment agencies and employers being so dam ruthless? I have been looking for a job now for almost a year!! I have lived abroad for many years and have gained a lot of work experience from being self employed in the UK and abroad i have exceptional management experience and have employed many people and have contributed to the growth of four different companies. Now my problem is i have all this experience and transferable skills at senior management level and could be placed into most management positions as i have the skills and experience, but yet when i apply for various positions i can match the job title perfectly and perhaps 90% of the job description in most cases, i just get rejection after rejection. The problem i have is, i have been self employed since i left school at 16, i am now 37 with bags of experience in business, been out the country for over 5 years, i have never needed to do a CV, but due to the crisis over the past couple of years i find myself looking for a job for the first time! My Cv has been checked by various agencies and they say its fantastic some great achievements, all very well, but i am gutted i'm not getting a chance for an interview. So back to my question "why are recruitment agencies and employers being so dam ruthless." I understand agencies work on commission etc, but to meet a 100% of the criteria stated in the job description is almost impossible, not only for me, but for most people i'm sure. I feel if you want to try out a new job in a different industry forget it because every position states you have to have proven experience in that field of work. To me as a former boss it doesn't matter if you feel you can do the job, unless you have been selling cars and you want to be a brain surgeon, then yes, you study for that and then become qualified etc, but, what if you have not studied, perhaps you don't have the money to study, but yet, you have the talent and experience you've gained from working up the ranks from a young age and you can transfer those skills to many different industries. Lets look at sales - sales is basically common sense, it doesn't matter what the product it is, its how you sell it, there is no difference in selling a car as to selling a house just different paper work and procedures, but, "how long does it take to learn those procedures?", not long, a week or so!! So you can see my frustration in these recruitment agencies and employers, they should be more flexible, there is so much talent out there that just doesn't get recognized, millions of people are unemployed, my way of thinking is different as i used to give people a chance to prove there worth even if they didn't quite fit all the job description, they were enthusiastic and determined and well motivated and could demonstrate the will to work, how could i say no!! My conclusion is the recruitment agencies and perhaps the many company's out there seeking new recruits, i say this; don't throw away talent, 3 seconds reading a CV is ridiculous, don't say you don't have time to go through hundreds of CV's i suggest you make time, you might just find the next best employee!!! No disrespect to those who have a degree, there should be new system like for every 3 years of work experience counts for 1 year at university, so someone with 9 years of work experience in their line of work is equivalent to having a degree + you have the added value of having actually worked, this could be fair to those who didn't chose the university route. May be things have to change, the rules are to tight and incredibly competitive, no wonder there are so many talented people out there that just cant get that opportunity with degrees and the many without!!!!
