Phoenix Marketing Study Demonstrates Impact Of Press Coverage And Advertising On Cholesterol Drug Users And Medication ...
A burst of unfavorable or confusing publicity often prompts users of prescription medications to take swift actions that can hurt those medications' brand perception and market share, according to researchers at Phoenix Healthcare, a Phoenix Marketing International practice.
A recently released Phoenix study titled "Impact of Publicity on Consumer Perceptions and Actions in the Cholesterol Medication Category" also showed that doctors who treat such users are often hard pressed to respond with the latest information to a flurry of questions and requests for assistance. Such events create opportunities for competitors to convey positive reinforcement for their brands and take advantage of market turmoil.
Phoenix conducts a monthly brand audit that tracks consumers diagnosed with cholesterol problems; the audit records the consumers' perceptions and documents their behaviors with regard to all brands of cholesterol medication. more

I'm a sophomore in college who has been studying business for a few semesters, and I just declared my major to Accountancy (I start the upper-division track next Fall). Accounting is pretty neat, at least I think so based off of the two lower-division classes I've had so far, and I had been considering myself pre-law so it seemed to be a nice fit since I don't think I could see myself doing accounting work for the rest of my life. This semester though I'm currently enrolled in a law course - actually offered through the law school of my university, comprised of mostly law students and a few undergrads (some special honors program or something) and I'm not really liking it. I like the discussion part of the class, but the reading of the text is kind of dull. I'm also in an Anatomy class this semester, which I took because I've always been somewhat interested in Nursing and things like that, but couldn't switch my major without having to stay longer than four years (on a scholarship, not a good idea). Well it turns out that this has been my favorite class, ever, since starting college, high school... we got to work with a cadaver last Thursday and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. So I think I might actually want to do pre-med. I'm not completely sure about it though :/ ANYWAY. My university recommends about fifteen "pre-med" classes, which I could take on top of my Accounting major (might have to stay an extra semester or two, still not sure about that). Would med schools not take me seriously if I majored in Accounting, and got a certificate in LGBTQ Studies, which seem to hint more toward law school, but still take the required classes? Since this is all a relatively new idea I'm sure about anything of this or what needs to be done. I might try to volunteer at a hospital or something. Ideally, I think I might want to be an obstetrician. moreOpen Question: Can I get into Chicago/UVA so far with these grades?

Hey everyone, I signed up for this program where online shoppers help me save for college. This works because the companies participating in this program with UPromise [as Victoria's Secret, Barnes and Nobles, Best Buy, Apple, etc] donate a certain percentage of your purchase to an account I created to save for college. I am going to be attending NYU Stern School of Business this fall. I have no college savings due to the fact that my family was hit hard by the economic recession. We had to use my college savings to help pay the debts that it created. Any help is appreciated! Through this program you have access to special coupons and discounts, as well! Thanks! After I graduated high school I was immediately employed by my father. I worked for him for about four years and made a substantial income. But for some reason I still felt empty and far from being satisfied with my life. I was working and living in the real world while all my friends were attending college enjoying their youth. After the recession hit my father's business, I made the choice to go back to school. It's been a rough adventure after losing more than half of my annual salary. But it's actually given me intrinsic warmth, a sense of freedom, and youthfulness. I'm doing quite well in school and I have about two more years left until I obtain my bachelor's degree in accounting. I do not want to go back to the "real world". I want to travel, party, see the world, and learn first hand about other cultures while I'm still young. Is this wrong? I'll be 26 by the time I graduate. I feel like I should settle down and start making a "real life" for myself. I just don't want to go back to that grim life so soon. I learned real quick about what it was like to be Americanized at a young age. Why do I have this urge to stay young and free? moreOpen Question: Can I get into Chicago if I apply in 11th/12th grade?help I need to know so I know if I still have a chance?

What sort of education should I look into?
Now, before you go linking me to the FBI website, I'm going to tell you that I have done my research. I know what critical skills they look for and what specialties, such as Law, Accounting, etc. I also know that working at the FBI is not what they make it look like on TV. I would like to study Criminal Justice, but I know that a BA in that would not be good enough to get me where I want to be. I am thinking of majoring in Psychology or Sociology (I would love to learn about Forensic Psychology and Criminology) . I want to eventually also apply for the Internship that the FBI offers. I am not interested in accounting, business, computer technology, or going to Law School. I am considering taking a foreign language like German, Russian or possibly Mandarin Chinese. So, what schools should I consider, and is my goal of becoming and FBI Special Agent achievable if I work hard enough? If not, what should I do to achieve it? Do you feel okay in the decision you made? Do you think a 4 year degree is absolutely necessary to succeed in this world. Sometimes I wonder what my 4 year degree will amount to if it is not in the medical field? I have heard several people tell me that sometimes it is better to attend a trade school, community college or even just get an online degree simply because lots of people get 4 year degrees and do not even use them in the subject they got the degree in. Then, after they graduate, they find themselves in a wall of debt due to student loans. For example, I know people who have majored in Business, History or even Accounting and when they graduate, they do not even get into the profession in which they have a degree in. What's your opinion? moreResolved Question: Do you think it is worth it to finish school?
I am currently working towards my Bachelors in Business Accounting. I work at a credit union and I bring home about $35,000 per year. Sometimes I wonder if I should finish school? It only seems to be racking up more bills (student loans) and taking time away from my family. And for a 22 yr old, I must say that I am doing pretty well with what I make and I know that I can only go up from here. I do know that if I happen to get fired, finding a new job that pays about the same without a degree is going to be really hard. I just want some opinions on the whole thing. moreOpen Question: Universities/colleges in ontario or michigan?

Im in school and have changed my major 3 times already..Im in limbo now thinking I may want to change again...I have a 4 year old and want to be done with school ....if I were to graduate with an Associate of Applied Science in Business and Technology (accounting) would I be in a good field and what kind of jobs are available??? any Advice or information would be great THANKS moreResolved Question: How can I maintain motivation to draw now that I'm out of school?
I just graduated college with a degree in Communication Arts: Illustration and I HAD to take any job I could get which landed me a position as Inventory Controller for the uni. and basically a right hand for the university's accountants. Problem is, I lost a heck of a lot of motivation to draw after my final finals! I get home and want to relax and not do anything! I had decided to take off from drawing until February and to start back up once Hourly Comic Day came (which I participated in) but I never could get myself to follow my own deadlines. It's a month later and I still haven't created anything, I can't even muster the motivation to even CORRECT my student work to make it better, which I think would be an easy thing to do. Any suggestions? Am I doomed? How do I essentially "suck it up" and get down to business? I don't want to be in accounting for the rest of my days! (Cross-posted to the Illustration section.) moreResolved Question: Do you think College is a scam considering that more than 90% of all graduates never find jobs in their field?
I mean if your extremely rich and want to go for fun, that's fine, but I see so many people get masters degrees in Art History and Accounting and never find jobs in their field. There are a couple of people who work next to where I work, and they have masters degrees and doctorate degrees in accounting, business, education and all many other fields who work Home Depot for a living! I realize the economy is getting really bad, and I have a friend who graduated from a university with honors with her bachelors in elementary teaching. She can only find receptionist work right now! ...and a lot of teachers are not getting renewals for their employment contracts either in many elementary schools. So do you think most majors are scams or to put it more lightly - a trap you can't get out of? Why or why not?To F-4 Commandos right wing Cuban: I can see where you are coming from. His highschool diploma from Mexico is all he has with a certificate to show he went through 2 years of training. He is a mason and thinks its rediculous that all the mason companies are now starting to require a 2 year degree in masonry with a bunch of certification cards that Americans now require. I just think americans complicate things and are now starting to require a degree in order to work almost anywhere. In my other country of Mexico, you only need a 2 year degree for teaching and to be a mason - you only need some training - not all of these stupid education requirements and license / certification requirements. Its absolutely ridiculous! Thanks for your answer though. moreOpen Question: problem after high school life.. ABOUT Courses to take.?
hi, im about to graduate in high school this year.. but still dont know what course should i take up, but my father said i'll get a course related to engineering just like mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. but the problem is me, i dont want those courses. but i have been choosing this courses to take, would you pls. choose me one, Bs Industrial Technology, Bs Business Administration, Bs Office Management, or Bs Management... actually i dont know what those kind of courses are... and if you say im gonna take my interest course. this is all i say. i like accounting but we have a lack of financial, my father cant afford the tuition so i just prefer to go to low school and those are my choices . and i like mathematics subject english, and history so if you have other thoughts about courses, can you tell to me. because its really hard to choose a courses if you are not interested ... moreOpen Question: Help from career experts..Would a career change to programming or supply chain management a good move now?
I'm 32 have a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering which was a nightmare for me. I do take pride having an Engineering degree and I did benefit from studying engineering in many aspects, but civil was/is the last thing I ever wanted to do.it's a long story why did I take (forced into) that stream and why didn't I change earlier... we're today now.I 've a degree that I know for sure I cannot make use of it. in one semester i had an introductory course in programming (C++) and found myself very interested. also after graduation I took an introductory course in Visual Basic and again found myself very interested. I know they were only an introduction but I enjoyed solving assignments and how I'd try to write the code using the knowledge that I learned and try to reach a solution to the problem given the limited features I learned about the language. Perhaps because of my eternal love to mathematics, in a way, I felt programming is very related to mathematics. trying to think logically but at the same time creatively. Now looking at the economy and having many computer science graduates not finding jobs or being laid off, will I be competent enough with only a college diploma as I can't afford right now to pursue a 4 yr bachelor degree. (money, age , family).. Another thing I was thinking of is going into business maybe it has more career opportunities. but having an engineering background, I may not have what it takes to get into business studies as, from my point of view, it needs a different personality someone talkative, good in arguments, has good writing and memorizing capabilities while I can only think numbers or in a mathematical logic. I know accounting does have numbers. but I was thinking of merging business and programming when I was first introduced to ERP and supply chain management in a lecture I attended long time ago that was held by an Oracle professional (forgot to mention I took oracle developer course too) . he claimed that this path is promising now more than programming ( even more than the oracle developer path he was teaching us!!) I'm really confused...don't know what to do or what to choose. Forget about my Eng. degree. I'm not going down that path. I ended up accepting a call centre job where they only need someone with high school qualifications!!! Any experienced help and advice will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read my long question and for any sincere advice. moreResolved Question: Have I ruined chances for a good law school?
Hi, I was always a good student and school and so got into a top 10 undergraduate business school majoring in Business Law, Management, Marketing and minoring in French. I plan on going to law school after this (my dream schools would be Michigan, Cornell, Georgetown, Emory or Notre Dame). Once I got into college, I lost focus for a while in my second semester of freshman year, and so I have a massive drop in my GPA (from 3.7 to 3.2, giving me a cumulate of about 3.45). After I realized my mistake, it realized it was much tougher to get my grades up than I thought it would be. This school is very accounting, finance and stats oriented and so we have to take many, many quantitative sort of courses which are mandatory (and I find these very difficult). I find my business law class very easy and fun (I'm just better oriented for things like that). So now I'm in my second semester of sophomore year and almost done with all non-major mandatory classes (accounting, finance, stats) but I realize it is nearly impossible for me to raise my GPA above a 3.4 until I get these classes out of the way and can take all business law courses. So the question is- if I graduate with a 3.6 GPA, two good, strong internships, and A LOT of extracurricular work (a paid teaching assistant position to a business law professor, founded a management workshop, founded a legal case analysis workshop (president of both workshops) helped new businesses in this college town with establishing themselves (still getting this club underway), paid research work in entrepreneurial trends amongst minorities, and do more and more work with the business law department) and get a solid LSAT score, above a 170, and a strong GPA in my major (not so much in my mandatory classes during freshman and sophomore years) and a semester study abroad, and some work (1-2 yrs) experience in corporate law after undergraduate- do you think I have a chance of getting into any of these law schools? moreVoting Question: I'm seriously stressing out about my future right, and could just use some advice.?
I thought I would come here because the only people that know about this is my parents and whenever I ask them for advice, they kind of just ignore me. Ok so here is the thing, last year I went through a really hard time in life, just thinking back about it makes me want to cry and never leave my room. In the end I ended up dropping out of school and I recently decided I want to change my life for the better. I'm currently 18, studying for my GED and SATs plus looking for a part time job for extra money to go to college and eventually move out of my parents house. After I get my GED I know for sure I want to go to college, I just don't know what I want to go for. I have my eye on a community college and a small university that takes GEDs they both have the classes for the two jobs I want so I'm just going to apply to both and see what happens. My goal is to go to college next spring. Now I'm stuck in between Tv and Radio production which is more of my thing, I'm into media and can work electronics really well. The only thing I'm worried about is finding a job after college, the pay, and I'm pretty sure when I first start i'll get the crappiest hours (nights & weekends) I eventually want to get married and have kids one day and working at a tv or radio station all day will take from family time. I'm looking for more of a day job. Next thing I wanted to do when I was in middle school was be an accounted (basically majoring in business) because I loved math. I think it would be more of a safe job, but my dad said that might be the worse job for me at the time because I haven't been in school for over a year and it might be to hard for me. Which I understand but isn't that what college is for? To help you learn? The other options my dad gave me is a cook, elementary school teacher, or a web designer. I'm just looking for a job that would benefit me and my family (or future family) in the long run. Any advice?I could always see myself working in an office for a company or something, but I just don't think I'm smart enough for that =\ moreResolved Question: Recent college grad having trouble finding a job?
I graduated from a good college with a highly accredited business school in December 2009 with a degree in marketing. I had a very high GPA of 3.8 plus a six month internship in marketing/pr. I thought it wouldn't be too hard to find an entry level marketing/pr job since I live in commuting distant to NYC, but I was wrong! I'm not really having the same issues as other college grads who aren't hearing back from employers at all, during the months of Jan and Feb I interviewed with 8 different companies, but no decent job offers (I did turn down one offer at an accounting firm that only paid $15/hour and wasn't related to what I want to do at all). I keep hearing back that "although you were a strong candidate, we found someone else with more experience." I've come to realize that ppl that are laid off with years of experience are taking the entry level jobs from recent grads so I am not sure what else I can do. Any suggestions? moreResolved Question: Psychologist, LCSW or LMHC?

I want to counsel adults, i have allot of business experience so career and personal would be my best field but what degree path to take. Please help as most jobs ask for either a LCSW or LMHC and from what i can tell if I go with the psych i will have to go on for my PsyD or PhD. Thank you in advance I really need guidance, and I do have a couple of appointments with an LCSW and LMHC to talk about their careers and education but would love lots of advise.Thank you Naguru, but i asked the question for "To know that you do not know is the best." I'm a second semester junior in college right now, majoring in accounting, and I am currently thinking about writing my resume for employment after school. I don't have many things to list other than a high GPA, but here's what I have: High school - Three full years of being in a college concert band on trumpet, plus private trumpet lessons throughout this time. Graduated in top 5th of my class. Community college - member of the New Jersey Stars scholarship program and Phi Theta Kappa. Earned Associate's degree in Business with 3.79 GPA (out of 4.0). Current 4 year college - Member of the NJ Stars II scholarship program, high GPA so far. Only been here for a semester and a half, but plan on joining the fishing club for a semester (the college counts it as a sport) and hopefully get an internship for a semester/summer. My personal strengths - punctual, opposite of a procrastinator, hard worker, good attention to detail, etc. Now, I was wondering how far back in my past I should go when deciding what to put on my resume. I have heard that putting high school activities/achievements is considered bad form, but since I graduated from a community college before attending a university, is it also bad form to include anything before my time at my current 4 year college? Obviously, I won't have to cut out too many things because I don't have much listed. Also, is it useful at all to include unrelated sports (fishing club) on a resume? If I'm supposed to cut out high school (pretty sure) and community college (not as sure) all I would be left with is my soon-to-be Bachelor's degree with, hopefully, a high GPA, my good work and study habits, an unrelated sport, and a small chance of landing an internship. I have no work or volunteer experience to speak of, which is bad I know. To make a long story short: in my case, how far back should I go when preparing my resume? Does anyone have any answers for me? moreResolved Question: Career in Music - What Should I Do?
So, I'm 19 *soon to be 20*, graduated high school almost 2 years ago, and, I'm still torn about what to do with myself. When I graduated I had no direction, absolutely no direction lol. I tried my hands at all kinds of things, but ended up quitting. Not out of depression or "oh I suck at this blah blah blah", but just because I get bored. I'm the type of person that gets very bored and restless if I don't have something to do........except when I was working at my last job, and when I play my music. My last job was awesome, pretty much was with an internet marketing/consulting/advertising companies. 2 of them at once in fact (working with my direct boss, and then helping him out with his biggest account as pretty much the "assist consultant" or "secondary consultant"). It wasn't your typical white collar, desk-jockey, type job. That type of job, where I'm just pushin paper/pencil would kill me, I'm way to restless. But with this past job, I got to be creative, I got to use my ideas, I got to edit/make videos, websites, pictures, etc. And I got my training for free. BUT, unfortunately, due to the economy, the business has taken a hit. Boss said he can't afford to pay me right now, and didn't want to have me working for free lol, but that I'd most likely be able to come back in a couple months. So, more like laid-off than fired. Now on to my music. I play flamenco guitar. I play everyday and I can honestly say that it's the one and only thing that truly makes me happy. It's my release. I would absolutely LOVE to make a career out of it, but it's music, much easier said than done. And considering it's also flamenco, considering most people probably think about the bird (flamingo) when they see the word, it's not exactly all that main-stream. Lately I've been very lost, very very lost. I've tried my hand at a few things, and quit all of them. College........psh, yea right. I'm not lazy, not lazy at all, trust me, the responsibility of my last job was enormous. It's just, college isn't right for everybody, some people just aren't meant to go, and I happen to be one of those people. What can I say? I tried, only lasted a year then I decided that I couldn't keep doing it. And some more things here and there I don't want to elaborate on, and make this any longer than it already is. Anyway, on to my question (sorry for rambling), when it comes down to it, the only 2 things I haven't quit are: my job, and flamenco. The reason why I keep trying my hand at other things and not just sticking with music and the job that I have/had, is that it's free-lance. Times are good, times are bad. Music is artistic, and the web-job is free-lance. Basically, it's not something I'm guaranteed to always have (if that makes sense). And I'm a person that grew up with VERY little stability in my life, so the thought of living the rest of my life like that......just the thought of it stressed the hell outta me. But still, those are the only 2 things I haven't quit. So, finally, my question is: What just sticking with my gut and do music and the internet-marketing job (when I get it back, or even finding clients of my own), or should I keep searching for something else? Just trying to get some other people's (aside from family/friends) view, you know, people who don't really know me, kind of an objective point of view. Thanks and I appreciate your advice. SamTo CarolO - I've been paying my own bills lol. And I'm currently searching for a new job/clients and leads of my own (I don't think I can count how many places I've applied to this week, from odd-jobs to grocery stores to professional companies, I just some form of temporary income) So it's not like I'm sitting on my ass. I have been living with my father, but like I said, I help out with the bills and pull my own wait, I'm not a bum. And if you didn't notice how I said in my question "aside from friends/family", I've already asked them, they're the first people I asked. I'm here for an outsider's (objective) point of view/personal opinion. moreResolved Question: This is my multi I am too cowardly to do this on my own account so would you like to know what I think of you?

Opening a tanning salon(something neat and sophisticated looking.) has been in my plans since I was about 14. All during high school I was home schooled and I worked for my dad cleaning newly constructed houses/businesses before they were put on the market for sale or lease. That is until things went under and he had to file for bankruptcy on all of the residential and commercial real estate that he developed. The I went to Costco for 2 years. From the 4 or so years I worked during school, I hoarded nearly every penny I made so I could fulfill my dream as an entrepreneur when I graduated from high school. Right after graduating from the Fulton County Public School System, I was set and went out looking for SOMETHING else to do to start my career in a self-owned business. Everything exceeded what my budget was set on until my dads good friends' dad was retiring and selling his repo company. So, I knew then at that time that was my opportunity. Luckily he allowed me to finance everything since he owned the stuff and he also let me walk in his lot that he's now leasing to me. So I've been in the repossession/recovery business for over a year now and with the economy HOPEFULLY shaping up, I've really been thinking about getting rid of my trucks & selling everything(of course after I have another main source of income coming in). The main reason is because I fear in about 2-3 years from now, this economy will have improved greatly and there won't be as much recovery work to cover all of my expenses associated with my company. ---OK so now my story about my young life is over, I'll get to my main concern- Although I'm only 19 now, I've had credit since I was 15(I lied about my DOB on credit card apps which has now been corrected with all 3 credit bureaus). Every since then I ALWAYS did right and kept my credit immaculate as it still is. My Transunion FICO through MyFico is at 738 and is slowly rising as my accounts grow older and as my personal vehicle is on its way to being fully paid off. I do have credit cards, but have $0 in credit card debt. Since Mar. 8th 2009 to Dec. 31st 2009, my company has grossed approx. $480K. That number may be fairly large, but considering I have 3 other drivers/employees I pay commission to, repo insurance(nearly $13K for not even the full year), rent on my ex-car lot(just over $20K for not even the full year), tax, all utilities, and after going ahead and paying my "agent" off for financing the PC's, software, trucks etc., that number was lowered significantly. Fortunately, 2010 so far is just as busy as it has been for the past 10 months and I'm even having to send repo orders back to finance companies from not having enough time to do them all(I'm not buying another truck). Like I said, I'm really thinking about going into the tanning business and it's a decision I'll have to make between now and the next 2-3 years. Would someone like me at my age(I will be 21-22yo then) have a hard time being approved for a $300K+ loan with the following factors: Company grossed $480K.(Honestly I want to leave this out of the app.) I netted about $110K during the last 3 quarters of '09.(before all of my personal bills/expenses.) I have roughly $80K in assets(2 recovery trucks, a money market account, and other misc. things). I have 3 checking accounts(2 personal, 1 business) I have 2 savings accounts. I have tax forms that have been filed and I also have bank and broker statements to prove my income. I have above average+ personal credit but no business credit.(no debt besides personal vehicle which will be paid off in 2 years or sooner) I have the knowledge, skill and common sense to know how to properly run a business. I can produce a legitimate business proposal. Hopefully within the next 2 or so years all of my assets and everything else will have grown.(if it doesn't there's a problem. lol) I know this is a lot of info, but my life ahead is really sticking to my nerves and I need support. I saw how my dad went from one minute having a lot of real estate to the next minute having to dig into his retirement money, and I want to avoid this by all means possible. I could be making a mistake by wanting to stop repossessing vehicles but as I said, I feel when this economy shapes up I won't even be grossing enough to cover everything and I don't want to lose my ***. The big question, how will banks view my status when attempting to obtain a commercial loan for roughly $300K? Would it be best if I go through the SBA? Could I get the loan w/o having to include my total grossed income? I'm literally fretting over these things. Thank all of you guys for your support. moreResolved Question: I need some accounting help with this "for AGI" or "from AGI" question?
