Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Mike Fergus says the door tumbled from the Bombardier Challenger CL-60 shortly after takeoff Monday from Grand Junction Regional Airport. No one was hurt.

He says that he doesn't know how high the plane was, but that it returned to the airport and landed safely. He also didn't know how many people were aboard, but the plane can seat about 20 passengers.

Business Degree In Online Questions asked

Open Question: Pregnant girlfriend, need a plan for college... and life in general.?

My girlfriend of 17 is pregnant. I just graduated high school and am currently taking a year off before college, basically waiting for her to graduate high school so we can go move together. But now she is pregnant. Neither of us have money to pay for college, so we are both going entirely off of loans. I am not going to settle for an OK job with and OK salary that I will sit in for 40 years and stay lower middle class, I am better than that. My father - top ten in a class of 600 - became a private school teacher for 38 years, he remains lower middle class, struggling with money, and they had me and my siblings three years after they were married. I fucked up my first two years of high school and came out with a 3.1 cumulative, act of 21, I am planning on attending Winona State University in MN. Now my main question is, what degree should I be looking at in college? Originally I was looking at a music business degree, as music is my passion, that was before we found out. We were planning on both of us getting degrees and jobs and then settling down for a family once finances and situations allowed. That changed a bit. I am going to be pulling the financial wagon. What would also be great would be some suggestions on a plan for what WE are going to do. Should I work my ass off blue-collar? Should I run with the 4 years and pray for a job? She also is going to go to college, no matter what, however, if we have a newborn child how could she do that? online courses are not an option - they make the most sense, but knowing my girlfriend, there is no way in hell she would do them religiously. She has an aunt that lives about an hour away from Winona. Also, most colleges require the student to live on campus at least one year, Winona is no exception. With a baby, that's really not possible for her, do colleges give leeway on situations as such?*Edit- I am planning on college and wondering about growing careers so that I can support a child. Neither of us are planning on running off and doing our own thing while leaving the baby behind. We were planning (after we found out) on me going to college and getting a degree while she took care of the baby, and then when I had a job that supported us, she get's her degree. Is blue-collar really the way to go when looking at the longterm? And I do have a job, I'm making about 20g a year right now, at 18, that's not going to be improving for a while, that's also not enough to support 3 people. more

Open Question: Apply to be an FBI agent?

Open Question: pros and cons of getting a ged while pregnant?

I'm 16 almost 17 i'm 13 weeks pregnant and in my junior year of high school. My baby's father who is also my Fiance is in college working towards his business degree. We have made an arrangement with his parents to turn there unfinished basement into an apartment which we will be paying rent on every month so that way we are a little more independent and have our own place with out the concern of not knowing who we are living near, we felt that this was safer for me and the baby while i'm on home-bound and alone at nights. Money wise we wouldn't struggle to much if i decided to finish and get my diploma but right now it seems better if i could work and start college. because all i keep thinking about is who will watch the baby during the day while i'm in school. My fiance is going to school full time and will be done by next year he also is working full time which he has been before I got pregnant so that's nothing new for us. He will be able to put the baby on his insurance so that's a big relief to know he/she is covered. I myself wanna be able to get a part-time job to just have extra money to put aside in the event he loses his job or gets his hours cut. The only way i'd be able to be a mom work and be a student is if i got my ged and started online classes at my local community college to get my basics and then take the nursing program at the 4 year college. I was just curious as to what the upsides and downsides are to getting my ged instead of my diploma. i don't want what organizations say the statistics are. I want what real mothers or parents who chose this have struggled with or what they have succeeded with. I know money will be an issue for years until we get established and we have made that clear to both our families that we understand there will be struggles but that we will only ask for help if it is absolutely needed cause we both feel we need to step up and learn to be adults since we wanted to act like adults. We are no longer just teenagers we are providers and parents and we accept that and want to do whats best for ourselves and our baby. more

Voting Question: Why is my ex husband so vindictive?

When I first met my husband, he was so good to me, generous, protective, loving, almost too good to be true, our child was born about one year after we met. We married, and 3 months later I found out he had been having online and text and emotional affairs with co workers and women he met on myspace and dating sites, the entire time I knew him. I kicked him out, and have filed for divorce. Since then, he has become mean, vindictive, calls me names, tells me I am bi polar, that I cannot handle my finances, that I am not a good mother to his child, that I cant do anything right. I have great credit, a Master's Degree, money in savings and am a wonderful caring mother. He is trying to have custody of our 2 year old for 4 days a week! He has a criminal background which was taken from the record, a DUI his rich parents's lawyers had taken from the record, and another arrest for battery while he was out of town on business. I know that he is just telling me horrible things about myself because of his own issues about himself, but why does he have to be so vindictive? He has not paid our electric bill in months, has left me penniless when I worked part time. Now I am starting all over and struggling as a single mom. Why is he so horrid to me? more

Open Question: Life Advice:Making the best college degree choice strategicly?

First off About me: I am a 20 year old male college student, middle child confused about what career path to go down. I live in a family of 5 single, non working mother with a house that is about to be foreclosed. We struggle on a daily bases financially and i am in college in Louisiana at a university. I date a girl online that lives in Canada. I love this girl very much and cant see myself without her and we are serious considering we have visited each other multiple times, talk every single day enjoying every conversation, and my mother and family likes her as well. We plan on taking things further in the future to the point of moving in together one day. Yes this might be a huge leap of faith but i say life is about chances so f it lets go! haha...but yea.. Heres the Dilema... What degree do i go for? The 7 year psychiatrist degree which is something i think i can find fun to do becuase i like to help people with their lives. ( Have experiences with it and still like it) or take the get out of college quicker make good money and move in with my girlfriend move (Get a Accountant degree or some type of business degree) i feel that i can be very successful in either degree's but i feel as though getting out erly and making the money quick and doing things now is more fun and exciting for me yet i know the job wont be as fun as he psychiatrist job. Also, i am up to any other degree suggestions. I am the type of person to strategize my choice in degree. I only choose degree's that make the most money have good markets and best outcome. Im not all up in my dreams for my dreams are all in movies and singing. These types of dreams are fun but they never come true, and its not a good thing to devote ur life to considering its a 1 in a million chance. These are all my opinions and i will listen to anyones judgments about them, i like to hear new opinions and see other ways of looking at things. This is why i made this post, hopefully somone can help me. please help yahoo! more

Voting Question: Can I get into medical school even though I have an associates from an online school?

Right now, I'm taking some classes online through the University of Phoenix because I work full time and its convenient. I'm supposed to get my associates degree in January; however, I decided I want to get into the medical field and attend a brick and mortar school. I want to eventually go to med school. Would an associates in Business from University of Phoenix even be looked at or would i just basically be starting over at a four year if I want to get into the medical profession? I don't want to apply to medical school in a few years and then have them turn me down because my associates was online. more

Resolved Question: What would you like to ask?Ph.D?

I am a kindergarten teacher in Japan. I first came in January 2008 to teach English. This year in April I began teaching at an English Immersion Kindergarten. I have my M.A. in International Business and would like to get my Doctorate in Education or PH.D. in Education & Leadership. However, I spoke with my boss and he said that any Ph.D. that I do will be an 'empty degree' because I do not have my teaching degree or license, because my undergraduate degree is in International Studies. He says if I want to stay in Japan and do this I would get more benefits, then I should get a teaching license in America or Australia, then I would have more options. Or I should get a TESCO in English and that would broaden my options as well. However, I do not want to teach English as a second or foreign language. I like being a kindergarten teacher but would like to get the Ph.D. so that I can be a director or principal of a school some day. I just do not want to be stuck in this position or any other position. So should I do an online teaching license and then the doctorate? The teaching license would take a year and then I would get a pay increase at my job. more

Resolved Question: I'm being charged with Grand Larceny in the 3rd degree what can I expect to happen?

A little over a year ago I applied for state health insurance so I could get psychiatric care that I desperately needed (and need). While all this was going on my husband had money from the restaurant he works for going through his account. (he would do the shopping at Sams club and the restaurant would give him the money back) this was between $200 - $3500 a month over a 16 month period. DSS says that this is his earnings and because of this i'm being charged. I didn't know what was going on with the bank account. My name's not even on it. He has online banking. I don't have access to it and with him being from Pakistan he believes that the money is not the wifes business. (He's very emotionally and economically abusive). And I have a 6 year old daughter who will end up in Pakistan if I end up in jail. I'm going to be arrested next Thursday, what can I expect to happen? Any advice on what I should do? Please help.He never stole anything, he still works there. The investigators think that he's making money off the books. I don't think he is but I honestly have no idea. I don't have anything to do with his income. I handle all off the cooking, cleaning and household obligations and he takes care of the bills. more

Voting Question: If I am a single mother, making 15 dollars an hour, will I qualify for financial aid?

I am currently a college student online at a Art University. The tuition alone is $2,200, plus books and all supplies. I am currenlty a waitress, and not making ends meet. I am one credit away from having a business management degree, and would like to get a full-time job in that field until I graduate for Fashion. I have had interviews for jobs starting between $14-18 an hour, but not sure if I take one of them if I will still qualify for Financial Aid. I am not willing to give up my dream, and know how I can work and still go to college online. Thanks for your help. more

Please let me know what you think about this qs.There are videos and have interviewed admissions from these school in regards to whats the lowest GPA or GMAT requirement and they say that there is no lowest or highest..they say they focus on the grades "too" but they rather focus on how you have dealt with life, if you are a leader in life, and how you have acomplished your goals...they say the essay is key. Resolved Question: How to get hired at a hospital?

There is a hospital in my town that always has job opening but I have to apply online. I've probably applied to every clerical job posted on the SMH website but I still haven't heard anything. Most of the jobs I have applied for you only need a HS Diploma which I have a Degree in Business which should be even better. I also called to volunteer and filled out an application for that so that maybe if I volunteer I could atleast get my foot in the door. I haven't heard back from the Volunteer Coordinator either. Any time I fill out an application online for a certain job at the hospital I get an email saying that they will contact me if they want to interview me. My question is if I wait long enough is it appropriate to contact them or is there anything I should make comments about when filling out an application?Iffy, there was nothing on the application needing my to fill out my credit history. more

Resolved Question: What Encourages Cecilia Lee, HOK International (Beijing) Ltd to become more dauntless to fabricate credential?

Cecilia Lee ( Chiense name Li Xiaoxi), Director of Business Development at HOK International (Beijing) Ltd, which has been disclosed with official evidence that her titan’s academic achievements were significantly embellished, However, the fact that Cecilia Lee ( LI Xiaoxi) falsifies her credentials doesn’t seem to concern HOK legal department and President, Ms. Cecilia Lee continues to Commit Academic Fraud and cheat on the clients and the public with her fraud bio online that she has obtained two Master degrees and Bachelor degree from Tongji University. Tang Jun, the president and CEO of Xinhaudu Groups, Prominent Former Microsoft Corp, also known as Employee Emperor in China, got trapped into a credit crisis by allegedly fabricating his Educational certificate. Tang Jun’s case already catalyzed as worldwide discussion on the place of integrity in China society, and also urges either the domestic or the international firms to have the responsibilities to avoid their employees with fraud education. HOK is the global architectural firm that has developed into one of the world’s largest. HOK employs more than 2,000 professionals linked across a global network of 23 offices on four continents. Over at HOK.com you will find plenty of gorgeous images showcasing of the creative work that HOK’s employees has created for their clients that are spread all over the world. Unfortunately, Cecilia Lee, Director of Business Development at HOK International (Beijing) Ltd, the creativity is not limited to architecture, interiors, engineering, planning, but in the creation of fabricated work history and credentials; and to other fraud and corrupt practices. As we know, Cecelia Lee has graduated from NO university in the Western Hemisphere and possesses no degree in economics, finance, and architecture or in law as she claims. Her claims of fame of earning dual Master’s Degrees, one of which, she obtained from Thunderbird School of Global Management, a private business school in the United States, and the first and oldest graduate school specializing in international management and global business and the second Master Degree from Arizona State University are fraudulent and fabricated at best. Furthermore, we also got the ground proof that Cecelia Lee fabricate her bachelor degree. In her online bio , she claims to be graduated student with Highway Engineering Degree from Tongji University in Shanghai. HOWEVER, her Diploma submitted to Thunderbird is demonstrating that she has graduated from the Foreign Language Institute in Beijing. In Cecilia Lee’s fraud case, which is substantially similar in nature to the fraud, which was committed by Tang Jun, the former President of Microsoft’s China operation. However, it is completely unique story, due to the fact that not like in the case of Microsoft or in the case Shanda, the most recent employer of Tang Jun, where both of the organizations claimed that they did not know about Tang Jun’ fraud. In the case of HOK which is the equivalent of Microsoft to the architecture, interiors, engineering, planning business know that their senior executive is committing fraud and misrepresentations online as well as in public forums and most importantly to their clients about who she is and what she has done in life as well as about her educational background and they have done not much if any to stop it, which encourages Cecilia Lee become more dauntless to embellish her credentials and working history with fraud. Governance is preached and breached at HOK. For the past 5 and a half years Cecilia Lee has obtained numerous recognitions for her fabricated accomplishments including the recognition for Women in Business in China, which aims at empowering and recognizing women for their business successes and has been participating in national forums and in other public events on behalf of HOK introducing her fraudulent credential background . Indeed, Cecilia Lee successes in her fraud, however, the fact is if HOK can be a little responsible for the clients, for the public and for the society; if Cecilia Lee’s falsification credential fraud did concern HOK, then Cecilia Lee will not have the opportunity to commit credential fraud. Cecilia Lee: A Daughter of Chinese Scholars Committing Academic Fraud Known to the Western World as Cecilia Lee was born in the Northern part of China in 1969 under the name Xiaoxi Li. Ironically, Cecilia Lee was born to well educated family and she grow up in Beijing Jiaotong University, where her father Professor Li Gen Cheng is teaching civil infrastructure and her mother Professor Cheng Gui Hua teaching architecture according to Ms Cecilia Lee. However, We will challenge with Ms. Cecilia Lee, if Ms. Cecilia Lee’s parents are famous professors working in Beijing Jiaotong University as she claims, how can an educated couple permit their daughter to commit the fraud? Ms. Cecilia Lee got married at least twice and divorced twice. more

Resolved Question: So confused! Not sure what I want to do in life...?

I'm going off to college in a week at UMass. I'm enrolled in their business school. But I'm not sure if I want to stay in their business school or go to an exercise related field... Ive always loved being in the gym, eating well, taking supplements, and researching more knowledge online about all these things. I recently got a girlfriend about a month ago, and I realized my interest in this subject somewhat diminished. My plan was to switch into a field such as kinesiology or athletic training, but I'm not sure if that's what I want to do anymore! What if I switch into this field (and I leave the business field, where it seems highly profitable and I could be happy). I may lose interest in working out etc eventually and Im not sure if it would even be profit-wise (how much could I really expect to make with a Bachelor of science, looking at kinesiology, versus a business administration degree or marketing or something). more

Resolved Question: Experience with validity of online for-profit colleges?

I work for a financial company in San Francisco (Franklin Templeton) and I'm hiring for an info systems manager position within our company. We have narrowed the candidates down to two for the middle-management position but I have a questions about the validity of online degrees because one of the two candidates went to college online. The position pays close to six figures so we really want to make the right decision before we invest those resources. Here are the candidate breakdowns: Candidate #1 Argosy University (Atlanta, GA) - B.S. Business Administration DeVry University (Nashville, TN) - M.I.S.M. Data Administration and Management University of Phoenix (Atlanta, GA) - M.B.A. Global Management -fresh out of MBA program and has 3 years experience as an IT Coordinator for Ernst & Young -M.I.S.M. stands for Masters in Info Systems Management FYI -Worked for Geek Squad at a Best Buy in Atlanta before Argosy Candidate #2 Santa Clara University - B.S. Economics and Mathematics University of California-Santa Barbara - M.A. Economics Stanford University - M.B.A. (not kidding) -Worked as a financial consultant before MBA for 4 years -Worked as a hedge fund analyst after MBA for one year -Fund went under in 2008 and he has been unemployed since -No IT management experience (although plenty of programming experience) -Focused on management and accounting at Stanford So as you can see I'm in quite a predicament. Candidate #1 is clearly more qualified in terms of experience and educational focus but those online degrees make me wonder. A Stanford degree is hard to pass up but candidate #2 just doesn't have the experience and background of #1. What would you do in this situation and have you ever hired someone with an online degree? If so, was the employee competent? more

Resolved Question: Experience with validity of online for-profit degrees?

I work for a financial company in San Francisco (Franklin Templeton) and I'm hiring for an info systems manager position within our company. Resolved Question: How can I make extra money now from home?

I am broke and the money I make is just enough to pay for my bills and my bills exactly with about $20 left over for myself at the end of the month. I am in school trying to get a college degree here at 21 years old so I can get a decent job. Anyways what can I do to make some extra money at home? My apartment is just me so I don't really have a lot of clutter or stuff I can get rid of to sell or sell on eBay. So that idea is out of the question. My cooking and baking is so bad that just trust me a baking and catering business is the worst I could do. I have tried all sorts of numerous sites offering to pay you for taking online surveys but no help there as all the sites I have tried have turned out to be a scam. Any sites like points2shop I will not do because I have had many problems with these type of sites. Is there anything out there that can get me some extra money for myself? I have tried everything from points2shop to surveys to KGB and even that ChaCha service and KGB and ChaCha said they were not seeking help at the moment and all my other methods have not been successful.PS NO SCAM/ SPAM ALLOWED!!!!!!!!! I AM VERY FRUSTRATED AND PIST OFF BECAUSE I NEED MONEY AND HAVE NONE AND I HAVE REPORTED OVER 100 PEOPLE FOR SCAM LINKS SO YOU WANT TO TEST ME THEN GO AHEAD BUT JUST WATCH YOUR BACK AND YOU WILL BE REPORTED FOR SCAM YOU FU*KER!!!! IF THIS IS NOT SCAM then sorry to bother you and please go on and post more

Voting Question: Has anyone ever gotten a good job with a bachelor degree in Business Management from Penn Foster College?

(please only respond if you have graduated with a bachelor degree from Penn Foster College) First of all I would like to start of by saying I understand the difference between regionally accredited and national accredited schools, as everyone feels that when we ask we do not know..lol I do.. Second, I have attended both brick and mortar school college as well as online regionally accredited university, so my question simply put( too someone who has GRADUATED from Penn Foster college, with a BACHELOR degree, have you gotten a job of which you feel you could have gotten a much better one had you attended a different school? I started out at a Brick and mortar school but moved and had to transfer to an online school ( reg. accred. college), of which I graduated. I and am now CURRENTLY enrolled in a great (used to be only brick and mortar) University, but I already have racked up so much student loan debt I am freaking out!! So to anyone who has graduate with a bachelor degree of any type, please email me or write here, and let me know your experience as far as life After your getting your degree. Thank you in advance. more

Resolved Question: I want a baby right NOW?!?

My husband and I had a miscarrage on June 11, 2010. I was 10 weeks pregnant at the time... Since the miscarriage, I have had a horrible case of baby fever that will not go away!!... I just graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in business and I have a great job, I'm starting my Master's Degree in a couple of weeks but plan on taking my time with it... my husband is an engineer at his work and makes good money, but has another year of online classes before he has his Bachelors in Technology and will get a good raise. We own a house in a nice neighborhood about a mile from my parents house and about 4 miles from his parents house. He is 24 and I am 22. Should we wait to have children until we are done with school or should we try to get pregnant right before we are done with school or what?? more

Resolved Question: Would you go to Eastern Michigan University as a Junior in the Fall or would you stay at a community college?

Can you read everything below before answering my question, thank you! Ok, I'm a transfer student with alot of credits by previously attending colleges and university. I was accepted at Eastern Michigan University as a Junior based on my credits but I first decided to go to a community college to take a computer class for the summer semester and I just completed the online class yesterday and receiving 94% for my total grade. I had all of my colleges and university to send my official transcript to the community college and I transfer in 57.63 credits although they did not accept all of my credits which is 90 credits but by me transferring in alot of credits I only have to complete 5 classes to receive my Associate degree in Business Administration and I can get a secretary position at a college because there is a college who hires for this position with this kind of degree but if I get an Associate degree in Business Administration than I will go to E. M. U. so what would you do if you were me? more

Resolved Question: Is College right for me right now?

I graduated high school three years ago, and I've been working ever since then. I work from 12 midnight until eight in the morning. I get around 18 dollars an hour, I do the same thing every night, not physically hard, but it gets old. I enjoy my co-workers very much though, and I've got weekends off. I sleep from 10 pm until six or seven pm, so it's an alright schedule. But all my friends are in college, and they have an alright time I guess. I'd sort of like to go, maybe just for business or something. If I stay at my current job I could make 26 dollars an hour in another two years, and maybe hope to someday be able to work days... lol. I like having zero stress, I'm able to afford a new car and motorcycle, and having a comfortable life style. I keep thinking of one of my friends who's in college, every time I buy something he always says "yea but when I get my degree I will blow this out of the water" and I don't brag about any of my stuff either. He's going to school for history, so I'm not sure what kind of high paying job he's talking about... (I don't even know why he's my friend... lol), so I hope the schools around here aren't full of people like him. How hard and time consuming are online schools? I'd could maybe spend an hour of my time on the computer on them after work before I pass out, anything more then that would probably bite in to other things too much. I've kicked the idea around of going to a four year college full time, but I don't think it's going to happen, I just want a degree to possibly fall back on in the future if my current job ever starts to get really dull. Any opinions would be helpful, thanks in advance. more

Resolved Question: Would you need a degree or exprience to become a manager or an owner of a hotel?

In september i have the choice to go to uni to do a 4 year hospitality management course, but i was thinking exprience seems to go a long way. Another idea which i had was to work and build myself up within a business, and possibly do a degree online with open university. Any ideas on what would be best? With university i may not enjoy it, lots of dept, is it just time to party? But with working i can build up my money and then hopefully buy a business of my own.... more

Resolved Question: Starting an Online Business: Questions?

I am job hunting like a maniac and having no luck (like so many others right now). I just graduated with my master’s degree (criminal justice) and have been doing freelance work (mostly writing) while in school. However, now that school is finished, I’m interested in finding more substantial work. I have been researching the concept of opening an online store and have come to several conclusions: there are a lot of scams out there; there are many different products/services that can be offered via an internet store; and I have no clue where to begin. I would honestly prefer to go with a turnkey site, which would save me from having to build the site, add check-out software, set up Adsense, and many turnkeys I’ve looked at include purchase of the domain name with the package. But I’m not sure how to tell the scams from the legit sites. One thing I do NOT want to get involved with is MLM, high-pressure sales, or affiliate marketing--I simply know my limits and I don't have the personality for that kind of work. I would prefer a simple business based upon the exchange of a product for cash--I am not interested in scamming people for profit. I am the kind of person who is not happy unless she is actively doing or working on something, so the idea of having a tangible biz appeals to me. I am also looking into drop-shipping, because there is no way I can afford to purchase inventory right now. My most recent freelance gig ended at the end of June, so I am bringing NO money in right now. Therefore, drop-shipping makes the most sense at this point. What I am looking for is input on turnkey shops (do you hate them, know if any are legit, has anyone had personal experience with one, etc.) and any general thoughts/ideas/suggestions for someone in my position. I know very basic HTML, but there is no way I could build a storefront site on my own—so keep in mind that I’m not much use on the technical front. I should also mention that I am NOT looking to get rich. If I could make $1,000 per month, it would take a lot of pressure off the family budget. More than that would be great (especially because my student loan payments will be kicking in soon), but I wanted to clarify that I’m looking for a legit online biz and am not hoping to become a millionaire without doing any work. So please, no “get rich quick” schemes for me. I really do look forward to hearing what those of you with experience have to offer. Thanks to anyone who has made it this far! more

Resolved Question: Career Choice.... Help Me Please.?

I am 24 years old and was about 2 years away from getting my BA degree from University of Phoenix Online before I decided to go for a major change. I changed my major from Business Administration to Nursing. I went back to community college to satisfy various science and math prerequisites in order to be ahead of the game, thus having only nursing courses to complete all the way up to receiving my BSN (i.e. I would get my ASN from a community college first, then work as a RN and go to school to receive my BSN). I'm currently studying to take the HESI entrance exam in order to be accepted into a nursing school. Meanwhile, I'm having second thoughts. Now, what persuaded me to want to become a nurse was the career stability, as far as occupation demand and lucrative pay. While I feel like being a nurse is something I could do and grow to love (I also naturally like to help people), it wasn't my first or main reason I chose the career. I'm having second thoughts because what I really want to do is travel. I love to travel and it has been my passion growing up. I need help finding lucrative careers that are in demand involving traveling. In all honesty, I used to want to be a flight attendant. Help me please, before I make a decision that may hunt me for the rest of my life. more

Resolved Question: What's the deal with online education?

I might be living in the 21st century, but I'm an old school guy in my late 20s. But, I just can't stand online education. I understand that a lot of us have many things going in in our life and want to get the education needed to pursue a better career, but I still believe that you can't take any shortcut and want to have multiple things at the same time. You have to figure out your way and manage your time so that you can attend to school at night or part time. I'm even more disappointed at many prestigious schools start offering online degree. I know education is a business, but institutions are getting greedy and greedy. What do you think? more

Resolved Question: Best way to go to USA (America) from India?

Hi, I am an Indian and I have completed by B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2008 from NIT, after which I have worked in an MNC for 1.5 years. I quit the job in March 2010 and started an online business. Now, I want to go to USA (America). It can be of any purpose, I just want to be there for sometime and see how's life over there. I can work there, I can settle there, it all depends on how things turns up. Now, I would like to know my OPTIONS to go to the USA. I am open to all means. I can do a MBA degree there or can work in a company or can continue with my online business. It all depends on what is available to me. Please suggest what I can do OR please direct me to the right direction. Thanks you everyone for your advices. Best regards. JohnI want to know the options like MBA, Job/Business options. Some more details about me. I already earn like some $4-5K a month from my online business and my business is growing. Resolved Question: Why can't I get a job?

I have always had bad luck when it comes to getting a job and I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice? Here's some of my background: I'm a 23 year old female in relatively good shape. I have experience in hotel(cleaning and management) services, fast food, restaurant, retail and worked at a gas station. I also went to college for a criminal justice major two years ago and returning this year to finish that degree. I have a professionally written resume and on the rare occasion I get an interview I dress accordingly and nicely and I'm always polite. I submit applications from different online sites and in person. I call the business I'm applying at and ask to speak the manager/hiring manager about a week to three days after submitting my application and ask if they've looked over my resume/application and if I could come in for an interview. I have no criminal record just two speeding tickets (all paid off) and my credit (if employers check it) may be bad due to student loans, but I can't very well pay them off if I don't have a job. Most jobs I've had had been seasonal jobs and I did quit two of them suddenly (one due to a military move and another due to harassment). I feel I'm doing most everything I can do to obtain a job, but as always I just can't seem get my chance. It's becoming very frustrating! Please any serious advice would be appreciated. Thank You more

I recently got hired at AT&T and I'm starting to realize that I need to go back to school and get at LEAST my bachelors in business marketing and administration. I could get into SDSU but I wonder if it'll take more then 4 years if I go to school full time (some morning classes and the rest online classes) and idk if it's too late or what? Please help!!!I just need to get back in school so that I can make something of myself in life. Any life stories, tips on how to keep motivated with school or anything is greatly appreciated! Resolved Question: College Clarifications. Lots of Question, Please help.?

I am going to college next September. I am wanting a Career In animal Behavior/Primatologist/Anthropologist. And i will be getting A bachelor in Anthropology and Psychology. Now im not completely sure how college works and how its all set up (I also live in Cananda if that makes a difference. So hear are my questions: while I'm getting my bachelor can i also take other courses such as a business management course? On average how long does a 120 hour course take to complete? Are online courses harder? Can you do two bachelor programs at once? If so, is it really difficult? What is the average number a course taken in one semester? I also Have a daughter that I do not want to sacrifice by being at school 24/7, In that case would i have to stretch out my course's so that i go to school longer? If i wanted to take 2 bachelor degree programs (at the same time or not either way) and about 7 different courses, how long would it take, also taking in account of my daughter. If i didn't commit and do very well in high school, will that effect me getting accepted into a bachelor program? more

Resolved Question: Is there such a thing as a reputable online school?

My specific areas of interest are centered around information technology. My wife, and a couple of my friends go to a certain well known and widely advertised online school, and I frequently hear of the idiot antics of their classmates, and even teachers. "In the state of Canada, the geologic event was Ice", etc... I find it hard to believe that anyone in that institution cares about the quality of the education they are providing. Also, I have a significant amount of experience in IT already, and many of the degree programs that I've looked into consist largely of material that I either already know, or is of largely no interest or value to my career plans. Of course a degree will be broad, and cover things I don't care about, but I would like at least 60% of the material to be new to me. I know that if the only thing I get out of a program is a credential, as opposed to a genuine learning experience, I will never stay motivated enough to finish it. Masters level stuff would certainly be a learning experience, but I don't think I'm ready to give up my life as a technician yet, and it all seems to be 10,000ft perspective stuff. "How can IT help actualize resource allocation models to support my business strategy... blah blah blah...". Certainly it's important to someone, and maybe even me, one day... but not anytime soon. Am I being completely unrealistic here? Should I just grab up a "whatever" degree to check the block and keep learning everything I can through certification programs and self-study? Or is there a school out there where I can pick up a credential that WON'T be openly mocked in a job interview, one that will actually help me to learn things I need to know, or maybe even do both? more

Resolved Question: Anyone with a BUSINESS degree?

Voting Question: I need advice on life and more?

I am frustrated with life right now. I have been looking for work for almost 2 years now with no success. It is getting harder the longer i am out of work. I am handicapped since I got hurt at work in 2002 and then laid off from same position in 2003. I have tried find a permanent position with companies. Corporate downsizing has come into play too much. I have not worked a regular position since November 2008. I tried to start an online business. but it is not bringing anything substantial enough to support not having a job. I used to be a Network Analyst Engineer. I am trying to make every day count. I do not know what is wrong with me. I feel like I am never get ahead in life. I almost want to give up. I went back to school and got my Bachelor degree in Business because I was told I need a Bachelors to be able to be considered for the same type of employment I used to do or higher. Now that is not enough. I am afraid of losing my apartment, car and anything I have of worth. My Girlfriend left and my parents are in no shape to help me. I deal with my knee and back injuries along with fibromyalgia and arthritis everyday. If I take the Medicene I am sleepy and loopy. If I do not not I am in pain. I have gained weight. I am working with the hospital to lose it. I feel stuck because I am hurt but not hurt enough to go on disability. I rather not have to be on it. I do not know what to do now. I have a lawyer but it might take another year for the case. My world has been turn upside down and I am trying to sort through all the pieces. I am seeing a counselor now to deal with the stress and vent. I need insurance to see the doctors to figure out what is needed to relieve the problems I am facing. I need help getting out of this rut I am in. I just do not know what else to do to keep moving forward and find a career again. I need help with my resume and advice on how to cope with all of above. My friends have disappeared since I was laid off. some right away and other gradually. Many have gotten married and have families of their own now. Others just not around anymore. The dating scene has disappeared. I go out and try to meet new people when I can. I feel very lonely right now. I just want the happy back in my life and some kind of regular work routine. Right now the phone hardly ever rings. I have called people but they seem to be too busy. I am wondering what I am doing wrong in my personal life. I wonder am I driving people away. Am I too blah or negative? I try to be honest straight forward with people. Is everything I am going through normal to feel? How do people cope with it? I had someone tell me I care too much. I am not sure what that means. more

Resolved Question: Paralegal Qualifications?

Now I know you can be a paralegal without having gone to school, but places are being stricter these days on how you can get these jobs. Here's my situation. I have an Associates degree in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in legal studies and I began a Bachelors program in Paralegal Studies in a new school. The program is ABA-approved. Do to a bizarre circumstance I had to switch majors from my Paralegal Studies major to the Business major with the Business Law concentration. There was a tremendous class overlap so the transition was perfect and most of my Paralegal classes are going towards something in the new major. My reasons for switching the major are way too long to list so I'll spare you unless you want details. It mostly involves time clashes with my work schedule (my new major is solely online). Now once I accomplish my Bachelors degree in Business Administration with the concentration in Business Law, do you think my legal educational background would be a good foot in the door for me at a firm? I'm also currently working in administration at a casino where I handle legal paperwork in relation to business, security, medical, and litigation issues. I still have my eye on becoming a Paralegal, but the major switch was a move I had to make. Thoughts? more

Resolved Question: How should i do one school full time and do another school p/t?

I am currently enrolled in an online university pursuing a degree in Business administration.I also enrolled in a pre-select nursing program at an community college,Mainly its just the pre-requisite courses so i can apply to the Rn program. But My question/well i need advise on is...How can I go about doing both of them at the same time.I am starting the fall online doing 3 classes and wanted to do another course or two at the community college as well.I need advise from anyone who has done the similar approach in school /or has done two different programs at once?...I did not want to stop one and do another, unless my other option was like doing one full time/and the other part-time.Another option was like doing both part time but that will delay my progression in one or the other program ...so give advise I need thanks. more

Resolved Question: Best ONLINE college/university to obtain a BS in Business Admin?

I lived in Germany for a few years and, because that was pretty much my only option, I attended Univ. of Phoenix online and received my Assoc. degree in IT Visual Communications -- which was a COMPLETE joke! I want to go back to school to get my BS in Business Admin; however, I have two small children at home and it is not feasible at this time to attend a traditional college/university. Considering my experience with UOP and my "degree" being pretty much worthless, I was wondering if anyone knows of some GOOD online colleges out there. more

Voting Question: University of Arkansas Walton Business honors college?

I'm going to be a sophomore this year in high school what do i need to do the most to prepare for college in high school 5.0 gpa, 4.0 unweighted, and i plan on taking as many honors classes as possible and keeping my gpa up that high, and i plan on taking 4 to 5 AP classes, mostly in math. I'm in FBLA, and I have job, i do bookkeeping for a small company. I want to get in to the honors college at the university of arkansas, and i want to get at least a MBA with a major in Accounting. My only problem may be my ACT score, i took it as a freshman and got a 23, is that good for a freshman? I plan on retaking it my junior year though. Also I want to be a Forensic Accountant, so would this school, and degree be good? I know i have to probably take classes online in addition to that to get the certification to be a forensic account. Any advice at all on how i can make the most out of high school for this would be greatly appreciated more
