AFS attends the Middle East's leading card payment exhibition

Arab Financial Services Co (AFS), the region's leading provider of electronic-payments and consumer finance outsourcing services, took part in Cards Middle East. The exhibition is one of the most high profile events in the Middle East for providers into the banking and financial services sector. It was held from 19-20 May 2008 in Dubai, UAE, providing an opportunity for AFS to meet customers, prospects and industry suppliers to keep up with the latest trends in the card payment industry.

Richard Kreager dedicated to towing business, baseball, community

As the founder of Kreager Towing Inc., Richard C. Kreager is remembered by loved ones as a man dedicated to his business and community.

Kreager died Wednesday, May 21 of respiratory failure at the age of 65.

"He was a hard working guy and good business man," said Roger T. Kreager, 36, of Canton and one of Kreager's six children.

Kreager and first wife, Lorraine Kreager, owned two gas stations in Saginaw before buying their first tow truck in 1965. AAA certified them as a franchise in 1967.

In 1970, the Kreagers started Kreager Wrecker Service in Carrollton Township, opening a second location in Shields in the late 1970s, Roger Kreager said.

Kreager retired from his business in 1988, handing the reins of the family business over to his sons Richard C. more

Nine out of ten SMEs lack viable disaster recovery plan, says survey

AROUND 90% of Welsh SMEs lack a viable plan to get their businesses up and running quickly if they are hit by disasters such as fire, flood and catastrophic IT failure, it has been estimated.

Cardiff-based Circle IT surveyed 50 organisations and found that although the majority had disaster recovery plans, most would be unable to cope adequately with a severe interruption to their operations.

The company says that the essential requirements for disaster recovery include the availability of alternative accommodation and equipment for staff, as well as off-site back-ups for replication of servers and key business systems. These should be a continuous data recording system that copies everything on a second-by-second basis throughout the day.

The company claims that even if companies have back-up systems in place, most would not be able to prevent a significant loss of data or system configurations that are vital to the running of businesses should their network servers be destroyed or fail due to a severe fault, virus, or sabotage. more

First, I feel really blessed, because I do get to keep with the traditional father pays for the wedding thing and my father has no financial problems at all. I don't have a very large extended family on either side, while he has like a 60+ family, we want a small wedding, but we don't see anyway we can do that unless we just kept it immediate family, but then my small extended family couldn't come and I want them there. We can't invite some of my fiance's extended family and not all, because they ALL live in Colorado, and we'd offend people. Also there are a lot of my father's friends, business people that he'd want to invite... I know I should for sure have a say in that, but there are some of his friends that are called my 'uncles' but aren't really and I'd like them to be able to come. Are you just gonna offend people any way you slice it? How long will it take to plan the wedding? I know getting invites out early is important, but if we don't want too many people coming, is it ok to get invites out like 3 months before?
