Expand federal Web site on hospital quality data

Last week, the Bush administration launched an advertising campaign encouraging people to "Compare the Quality of Your Local Hospitals."

The government's Hospital Compare Web site (www.hos pitalcompare.hhs.gov) makes available information on hospital-quality indicators and patient satisfaction.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services placed ads in 58 newspapers around the country. In The Des Moines Register, for example, an advertisement listed indicators on the percentage of people who received antibiotics one hour before surgery and the percentage of people who "always received helped when they wanted it" at 31 Iowa hospitals. These are two of the 26 measures reported on the Web site.

Parcxmart signs contract with Fort Lauderdale

The Parcxmart Card is designed to streamline operating expenses while increasing revenues for municipal parking operations, its local participating merchants and the commuting public by offering a convenient one card solution for all types of parking meters.

The purpose of the card is to make parking, shopping and eating convenient in the city. The smart card can be used at on and off-street parking as well as at select merchants. There are also hopes that it may grow into a regional program throughout southern Florida, stated Diana Alarcon, assistant parking services manager for the City of Fort Lauderdale.

The Parcxmart Card also carries a loyalty program known as Instant Cool Rewards, merchant validation software for those merchants who opt into the program and the ability to load up to $300 of value onto the chip in each participating merchant using cash, credit, or debit. more

Well...in case you have some experience with venture capital firms, angel investors and funds,banks - pls. share some experience... So far - in my case - especially with venture capitalists and the so called "angels"...I am far from reaching anything meaningful. For instance...I spend about 2 days sending e-mails and faxes to such people and the best reply so far is something like(in brief): "SUre I will give you 300k - but you need to send us $2500 for fee because we are going to show your idea to other investors... - but yes you WILL get your 300,000$, don't worry!" - stupid idiot... Anyway...here I am giving you a link to the website + business plan I created...so that you'll see that at least I am not joking with a 10+ pages business plan and nice website...yeah. Plus, I am NOT even wanting money in advance - I suggested to the investors letter of intent way of funding - so both sides are protected - but so far "give me money in advance" is the best answer I received - such a waste of time! Resolved Question: How long does it take to get venture capital?

Imagine if I were competing with Amazon, and I had a premium domain name like Store.com or something. I would need venture capital at the $10-20 million range for 10% of the company because this could obviously be a huge company (yes, I do have a very strong plan to "penetrate" the market despite Amazon's name, reputation, and size) I'm just wondering how long it would take to obtain the venture capital? If I already have the business plan, would I be able to get a check within a month after presenting this to the venture capitalists? I need this done before mid-May for personal reasons. more
