Wednesday Newspaper Review - Irish Business News and International
Mr Flavin was a Fyffes director and held insider information about a deterioration in Fyffes' business that was not freely available to the market when he sold DCC's stake in the company. Fyffes shares fell in value after it issued a profit warning, but not before Mr Flavin made a profit of some €85 million for DCC on the sale of its interest in the company.
After an ex-parte application by Mr Appleby yesterday, the High Court court set a hearing of his case for June 9th. The case is likely to examine the tax treatment of the Fyffes share sales by DCC, which were routed through a Dutch-resident company so as not to be liable to tax in Ireland on the profit. In her original High Court ruling on the case, Ms Justice Mary Laffoy had rejected outright DCC's contention that it was the Dutch company, Lotus Green, and not Mr Flavin that executed the share trades. moreHigh-flying banker who didn't see glass ceiling

Julie's Mary Whitehouse experience
With Big Brother's brazen nudity, Gordon Ramsay's bad language, and the soaps' racy storylines, Mary Whitehouse would probably be doing a 180-degree turn in her grave if she knew what was being shown on TV today.
"She would be campaigning about Big Brother now, definitely," says actress Julie Walters who dons a wig and Mary's trademark glasses to play the late moral campaigner and legendary battleaxe in a new one-off drama, based on Mary's clash with the BBC in the 1960s.
"With the sex, swearing, and just general sort of unbridled behaviour, I think she'd be really troubled about kids getting into that."
During the early 1960s when Mary, an ordinary Midlands housewife, first came to prominence, Britain's sexual revolution was in full swing and TV was being overhauled by BBC director general Sir Hugh Carleton Greene. more
Honeywell predicts bright future for 'synthetic vision' in
The technology was on display at the European Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition show this week in Geneva. It's one of the products being marketed to the wealthy customers — big corporations, Saudi princes, Russian oil tycoons and China's new millionaires — who are fueling a boom in private aircraft.
Synthetic vision brings together into one simulator-like display the same information that airline pilots obtain from an array of instruments and devices, depicting the terrain ahead with projections of the plane's flight path in current wind conditions.

BidClerk.com (a consumer/professional construction job match site) matched me up with a scam/fraud artist that I had posted to build a small home around 700 sq. ft. They gave my home number to several contractors one of who was persistant. To shorten the story, I live on the GA side of the GA/AL state line. This fraudulent builder came to my house in GA and said he could build me this home for 50,000.00 which according to the plans, was reasonable, we signed contract, he presented license with company and references. I called Marvin's Home improvement ctr who was reference and was to supply materials, they gave glowing reference as well as other ref. also I ran background, criminal and civil, both turned up negative for cases. I checked with his county of residence, still no court record. I hired him and within several weeks, he had made labor/material draws equaling 90% of contracted price for home. I phoned and emailed BIDCLERK several times when I became suspicious but they would never produce any information about him as he was an account holder. Although, they freely gave him my info. Turns out, he got locked up 3 weeks into the contract, he only completed 20% of project and had 90% of my money, 48,000.00 and I was out of a home and money. Turns out, he had NO license, NO Business, NO employees and alot of experience in this activity as he was already on probation for this with the state licensure board of AL. On probation for drugs, forgery and other charges, He had several Probation officers and was still free to do this to me. BidClerk.com will not take any responsibility even though they said my job was mislabled and is how he got my information. I did everything anyone could do in checking him out and even a business gave him reference and then turned against him later and withdrew from my project. He had no insurance either. I labeled all my checks to him what they were for but he didn't have a bank account and cashed these large checks at my bank and used the cash for everything but materials. After he was locked up the last time, he just that day got 5,000 of my money and took it into court behind my back and they locked him up permanently that day. he had my check cashed and took 5,000.00 into Jail. 10 days later, I was filing claims with the State of AL and with authorities for fraud when the shell of the house burned to the ground in the middle of the night. He thought I'm sure would relieve him of responsibility since he didn't think I could prove how much of home was completed. I had hired a home inspector he never met who took pictures just days before the fire which documented the house was only 20% and had major foundation problems. In the end, I have no house, lost all my money, had to sell the land just to move from the nice apt into a low class apt building where I have been broken into 5 times by other tenants who were arrested and evicted. Every tenant in this building has stolen from me. It is not safe and is over 100 years old. I live on fixed income as I am disabled and this guy knew this as I was going to the Cancer center when he was doing this to me. He didn't care at all and planned and frauded me with intent as he knew no one was around to stop him and I often did not feel well. I took him at his word. I have all documents. Even his fake license. They have locked him up. Could not prove arson although they know he had it done with my money, and I can't sue him because he has his assets hid in families name. Cannot get, done spoke with 3 lawyers and it would cost thousands just to get it into court and I wouldn't get anything in the end. Does anyone know of any resource, any entity or help I could possibly receive in community/state/government subsidized financially as I do not have any money now, live in a dump with criminals just like him, and have no hope of getting out of this mess. He just walked into my life, in weeks, destroyed it and legally walked off without so much as an apology. Seems BidClerk.com should carry responsibility but got flimsy half assed apology/excuse letter and that was that. Marvin's Home Improvement Center also should be liable but again, they offered to testify for me but what good is that if I can't take into court. If anyone knows of anyone who can help I would be eternally and bleed gratitude to you. I would die with the prayer for you in my mouth if you know of any way to help me out of this mess. Not well, I get sicker every day because I am so depressed and live in this environment. Had to sell most of everything I own just to survive. I was told to write to TV Home improvement shows but can't find any and there's nothing left to build on or fix. I have all documents and legal papers relating to this disaster and Blueprints and police and state reports. If anyone knows of anything or has suggestion, I would be so thankful to you.Simply asking for knowledge of available resources for victims of Home Building Fraud. This case has been investigated by all state officials, State Attorney Generals office and Home Builders Licensure Board, As was put to me, "this wasn't his 1st rodeo" and criminals like this know more on how to cover themselves than honest people know on uncovering them. I did all a consumer could have reasonably done with respect of checking. BidClerk.com took responsiblility in saying my job was "mislabled", again, not my fault or to my knowledge. I question those who blame the victims as opposed to the criminals. Could make one wonder about their ethics if they believe any degree of trust in another human is "a mistake". The Guardian notes the cashroots behind right-wing Astroturf: "When Obama beat Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries, FreedomWorks studied how he did it and then copied him. A plethora of groups have jumped on board, with exotic names such as Tea Party Patriots, Grassfire, Conservatives for Patients' Rights, 60 Plus, all loosely working together, with FreedomWorks and Americans for Prosperity probably the leading partners. FreedomWorks and Americans for Prosperity are sister groups who came from the same parent body -- a campaign called Citizens for a Sound Economy, which split in two in 2004. It was set up by one of America's richest men, David Koch, an oil tycoon who has funded rightwing causes for decades. FreedomWorks receives funding from the tobacco conglomerate Philip Morris, as well as from Richard Scaife, another business tycoon, who for years helped fund dirt-digging investigations into Bill Clinton. Local branches of Americans for Prosperity have also received tobacco money; the group has opposed smoke-free workplace laws and cigarette taxes. ExxonMobil was a sponsor of Citizens for Sound Economy, and both FreedomWorks and Americans for Prosperity have campaigned vigorously against Obama's plans to reduce CO2 emissions through a cap and trade scheme, working closely with the American Petroleum Institute. 'This is the same old, same old,' says John Stauber of the Center for Media and Democracy, which investigates corporate lobbying. 'Yes there are some new names and new causes, but these anti-government front groups have been around for a long time.' Cars of the 1930s The Automobile Industry resisted the depression and welcomed a new look for cars throughout the 1930s. The stock-market crash lead into the Great Depression, nonetheless the farming and middle-class families did not entirely give up on cars. Throughout history cars have been the nation’s symbol of security, comfort, and leisure. The “drop-frame” construction lowered the car’s center of gravity. The Ford 1932 V-8 significantly introduced the “drop-frame” appearance. Ford’s 1932 V-8 design brought the car’s height down from the high perch of early automobiles. It’s engine was moved over the front axels and the hood was expanded outward. Its sixty-five-horse power capacity gave the car strength. Many people including Clyde barrow favored this car, he said, “I have drove fords exclusively when I could get away with one. For sustained speed and freedom from trouble, the ford has got every other car skinned. Even if my business hasn’t been strictly legal it don’t hurt anything to tell you what a fine car you got in the V-8” He and Bonnie Parker had stolen a 1932 V-8 in Texas. The 1934 Chrysler and Desoto Airflow models cut the edge of engineering and aesthetic auto production. The first car to feature a unified body and chassis was the airflow. The car had sturdiness on the road and a roomier interior. Despite the public found it unattractive, Chrysler structured the advances learned from the airflow into its line of mid-priced sedans. Due to the great depression, the production of all vehicles fell 36 percent in 1930. It then fell 29 more percent in 1931. In 1932, it fell to about 1,300,000 vehicles, the lowest ever since World War one. GM’s Alfred P. Sloan had a strategy called “constant upgrading of product” or planned obsolescence, which meant encouraging consumers to trade up and blanketing the market with a car at the top of every price range. Later “constant upgrading of product” was called sloanism and moved GM to the top. Sloanism emphasized trade-ins and styling. The styling department at GM made cars appear lower and longer. The 1932 Cadillac was the first car to eliminate the separate box-like trunk. By the end of the 1930s US Auto manufactures had established a unified structure, lower, wider passenger compartments that went throughout and up to the 1950s. Aerodynamic styling, or streamlining, meant modeling their new cars on the design principles of high-speed trains and airplanes. This resulted in better speed and fuel economy, made the ride smoother, lessened wind noise and car’s drag. The once-separate body and chassis merged into a unified body. Independent automakers failed throughout the depression years due to the low sales. Car companies that ceased to build were Kissel, Ruxton, Mood, Dobel, Jordan, Stearns, Gardener, Marmon, Peerless, Du Pont, and more. Not all went down; five companies survived Charles Nash, Hudson, Packard, Studebaker, and Willy-Overland. The number of U.S. Automakers dropped drastically from 108 in 1923 to 44 by 1927. The big three were Ford, General Motors, and Chrysler. Large Automakers lowered their prices on their cars to stay in business. In 1930, it was recorded that sales in the auto industry had dropped 2 million from 5 million, just in the previous year. The depression affected the countries entire economy. The big three got a bigger share of the market from the fall of the independent automobile companies. Their share increased from 75 to 90, over the time period since the 1920s. Due to the plant closings, jobless workers, and low production the United Automobile Workers (UAW) Union was founded in Detroit, in 1935. The depression led many workers to strike and believe unionization was the only way to protect themselves from corruption of the companies. In 1935, congress passed the National labor Relations Act (NLRA), which outlawed the heavy-handed measures the companies had been using to break up unions. General Motors spent close to one million from 1934 up to 1936, the reason was for guards to patrol its plants. On May 26th, 1937, UAW leader attempted to hand out flyers at the main gate. They were stopped and trapped, who were beaten along with women, reporters, and photographers. The event became known as “Battle of the overpass.” To close down many plants, the UAW used the sit-down strike. This in effect did stop labor. By 1937, the UAW succeeded against GM and Chrysler. Ford continued to stop unionization. Ford Workers walked out on April 1st of 1941 causing the River Rouge Plant to close. In 1936, strikes by workers led to improved working conditions and wages. moreResolved Question: Confused and torn about majors?

Im in the dfw area, but I know there are some nation wide businesses that need technical support, my husband is in his last year at devry for CIS trainig. he's lookig for jobs that need some one with information technology expertise. HIs last job paid 19.23 an hour but he was only allowed to work part time with no benifits. they haven't made him permanent and keep hiring temps. he was late a few time in october by a few minutes, like at the very most one time he was 7 minutes late and for that they are considering termination. I wonder why they never brough it up before. there is only a 2 minute grace period in which you are considered not late. you have to be there one minute before your shift starts. he stresses all the time about being late, and rarely is.He is concerned they are going to terminate him because they are looking for excuses to terminate alot of employees, so hes looking for another job. I am a stay at home wife, just had a baby. He is our sole source of income. I dont want him to go through a temp agency as a first resort because temp agancies dont pay as much. Id like him to find somthing that makes at least 15 an hour full time, because we have bills to pay and while I plan on getting a job soon, I know that we wont be able to afford a house or be able to pay off his student loans unless he gets a decent wage. anybody know some company names that have call centers that do tech support or something he would qualify for with cis training? moreResolved Question: can you help plz in this regard i nedd help in this plz?

As a potential candidate with skills in customer service and sales, I am eager to contribute my abilities to this well established company. I know I would be a great asset to the paper data capture center for Vangent, and I am anxious to prove it. Who am I? Good question. My name is Daniel Ontiveros. I’m a twenty year old hardworking father. My career to date has mainly revolved around customer satisfaction, sales, and service. I am familiar with the procedures, terms, environment, and overall basics of Vangent Inc, because I’ve already had the pleasure of being employed. For about 6 months I held the position of inbound call center CSR representative for Medicare through Vangent. Unfortunately in early 2009, I became too sick to continue my productivity as an employee. I consider myself to be a great employee, and I have references that can attest to this. Such as: Vangent supervisor Juliana Anaya, Vangent Co-worker/employee Antonio (Tony) Rangel, and Vangent Manager Carolyn Little. I’ve also held a position at a small family business named Danubio Reception Hall. I was involved with sales and customer service. I held that position for about a year. The most prominent strength I posses would have to be my ability to get my goals accomplished in a timely manner. Simply meaning, when I have a job to do, I will get it done, when it needs to be done, and at any costs. For example, being an employee for a great company such as Vangent is my main focus and goal. If I do not get the position this time around my persistence will shine through. I would evaluate what I need to correct, what I need to improve, seek out another job to enhance my experience, and apply once again when they are hiring. Only when I am hired can my actions truly speak louder then my words, but until then I will continue attempting to be a part of this well established company. My plans for the future are to simply continue to be productive and move forward. I want to be considered a professional when it comes to costumer service. I would like to continue contributing my abilities and experiences to Vangent and would be happy to discuss in further detail how I can accomplish this. My resume is enclosed for your convenience. Feel free to me contact me at do072330@yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your time and consideration. Have a great day! moreResolved Question: What Mental Condition Does this person have?

MINNEAPOLIS - MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Roughly 1,250 Twin Cities janitors with suspect employment documents were fired from their jobs in October as their company carried out an audit prompted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, an immigration attorney said Monday. The janitors worked for ABM Industries Inc., a New-York based company that provides janitorial services nationwide. John Keller, executive director of the nonprofit Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, said the firings happened in phases over the month of October. He said he first learned of the audit in early June, when his office received a call from the workers' union. ABM had sent employees letters that said ICE was requiring workers to show additional documents proving they had legal status to work in the U.S., Keller said. "Federal law prescribes specific procedures by which employers conduct employment verification activities. Our policy is full compliance with the law," Tony Mitchell, ABM Industries Vice President of Corporate Communications, said in a statement. A copy of ABM's letter to employees was posted Monday on the Web site of Minnesota Public Radio News, which first reported the firings. The letter said, "ICE has informed ABM that the documentation you previously provided to confirm your employment authorization in the United States does not satisfy the I-9 Form employment eligibility verification requirements of the Immigration and Nationality Act." The letter directed employees to bring in additional documents. The deadline was extended multiple times to give workers more time to provide the proper paperwork — with the final deadline in October. "We don't really know what initiated the investigation," Keller said. "It sounds like it began under the previous administration in 2007." The Obama administration has conducted similar audits on businesses. Immigration officials sent notices to more than 600 businesses in July of plans to audit their I-9 forms, which document employment eligibility. The businesses weren't identified. connections Mike Anderson ABM Industries National Basketball Association Linas Kleiza Angelina Jolie In the Twin Cities audit, Keller said, the vast majority of the 1,250 fired workers turned out to be undocumented. Keller said to his knowledge, no one was arrested or deported. Tim Counts, an ICE spokesman in Minnesota, said the agency doesn't discuss ongoing enforcement activity. Keller said he hadn't seen an audit of this scope before. "It's usually a very limited review of a much, much smaller number of people," he said. http://www.newsday.com/news/new-york/over-1-200-janitors-fired-in-mn-immigration-audit-1.1577091 moreVoting Question: Essay for advanced training what do you think?
I had to write a essay to get into the advanced training for my trade tell me what you guys think Why I believe I should be accepted into the Shriver Advanced Training Program. I feel that since I went through my computer repair trade at a pretty rapid pace, I should be able to do the same at Shriver. As a matter of fact I will be taking my A+ certification test by week’s end. David Brinkley once stated “A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him”. I believe the determination and focus that has been instilled in me would make me a great asset to Shriver Job Corps Center. I originally came to Job Corps as a last opportunity, but I soon realized the ability of advanced training to provide a high source of income for me and possibly a family in the future. I was attending Valencia Community College but my family had to relocate. I ended up having to owe money to financial aid, in spite of that I was doing pretty ok for myself. I found a job with a tech Support call center for SanDisk but eventually they ended up laying everyone off and found myself collecting unemployment. After months of searching for employment I realized the jobs were not that easy to come by, that’s when I decided to make the call to Job Corps. I will be taking the network+ certification after I finish the Comptia A+ certification. My original plan was to get into Cisco but I soon realized it wasn’t available so I went with my second choice getting my Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Certification. While at Job corps I got the opportunity to setup the Business Tech Class and their 22 computers by myself which included installing a print server, network deployment of Deepfreeze and NetOP. All of which I learned on the spot using the internet as my guide. As you can see I have a personality that tends to thrive for knowledge. Determination and focus are the best of my characteristics. I believe that I will highly benefit from Shriver’s Advanced Training program as well as become beneficial and a model student for Shriver. It will be in both of our best interests for me to become one of Shriver’s alumni. moreResolved Question: Is my husband selfish or overbearing?
I had a roaring career until 2008. Husband has a business in Phily and in India. My husband wanted me to quit my job and help him in his business in India. I was against losing my financial freedom and my career. On top of it, I am not a business kind of person. I didn't want to move back to India. My husband put so much pressure by making nasty calls on my cell phone, at work, called my mom in India and yelled at her that she was instigating me to not to quit my job. I finally did what he wanted. Before leaving to India on Oct 17th, 2008 he siad we would come back in 10 days after assessing the office situation in India. I was under infertility treatment at that time. I went back to my gynic and ask her to extend my medicines for another 10 days before we could go with the actual procedure. Oct 31st came, my date of departure. Flight was at early hours and this guy was so quiet about letting me go back (he wanted to fly back later). He pretended as if he forgot about it. I was **** scared to ask him cos when he yells the entire street can hear it (believe me). I was depressed about stopping the treatment. So he took me to a local infertility clinic and asked the doctor (his family friend) to start the treatment from scratch again. So one more round of injections, medicines etc. I conceived in december. This guy came to the USA in january 2009 to take care of his Phily office. Left me back here. I want to go back with him but he said it is not safe to travel during pregnancy. He would only call once in 2 days and sometimes he went for a couple of days without calling. He came back in April, spent 20 days with my during baby shower rituals and again left. After that he only came back in july 2 days after my baby was born. All the while, he made me take care of the india office. I fell twice on the stairs since the elevator wouldn't work due to frequent power cuts. He doesn't have a single word of appreciation for anything I did. During the baby shower trip he complained the office was messy. I picked up the broom and cleaned it. Now that the baby is born, I want to take him back to the USA. He won't listen. He tells me I am selfish. I only think about my happiness. I am a US citizen and I want to go back with my baby. He says the baby can wait but I can go. He very well knows I can't leave without the baby. He hasn't gone back since july and he is planning to sometime soon. Last night when I asked when he was flying back, he said he wouldn't until the office issue with the client is not resolved. He never gave the same importance to me when I was pregnant. He never said not until the baby is born. His parents who live 2 minutes away from the office never made any visitations, no phone call about my health, never asked me to come home. He is so obsessed with the company. He went to some seminar the other day. Came back 1:30 am and then switched on his computer. He was listening to the seminar on the web with high volume when my 4 month old is sleeping right there on the bed. I felt like killing this guy. Each discussion about going back to the US will result in arguments and fights. I get worried that one of these days he might get physical also. He doesn't know how to treat the baby. He just holds the baby's legs and pulls him from the center of the bed to the edge to change his diaper. Each time I try to talk to him about anything, he says I am depressed with post partum. We've been living at my parents place since last october. His parents won't invite. He doesn't want to move out and live separate. He keeps passing comments on my family members and they get irritated that he lives in our house and passes comments on us. My relationship with my mother is also straining due to this. Please help me to deal with this guy. I am totally drained out in this relationship. I want to move back to the USA, find a job and lead life as normal. Hoping to jump-start a major legislative drive on immigration reform in the U.S. Congress, more than 100 pro-reform House Democrats signed a letter reminding President Obama of his administration's commitment to overhaul immigration. The letter was clearly meant to nudge the White House toward engaging an issue it has allowed to languish. The letter expressed House Democrats' “commitment to fix our broken immigration system” and cited “strong support for moving forward on fair and humane comprehensive immigration reform this year." One of the signees, Rep. Luis Gutierrez, an Illinois Democrat, is gearing up to introduce a major immigration reform bill as early as next month. Immigration advocates and their allies in Congress believe there is a window for immigration reform to pass early next year, before midterm elections complicate the political calculus. "The room for doing this is very tight," Gutierrez said earlier this month on the Spanish-language Univision network's political talk program, "Al Punto." "We have to do it in February or early March of next year." The renewed buzz around reform has raised expectations in the Hispanic community, but since such hopes have been dashed before, there is still an undercurrent of skepticism. Despite the stirrings in the lower House of Representatives, it's still unclear how much traction an immigration fix has in the Congress overall. Gutierrez's bill and the letter to President Obama are only opening plays in a long campaign to push immigration to the center of Washington, D.C.'s always crowded agenda. The recent moves might help Democrats show Hispanic voters that the party is aware of widespread frustration with the current immigration system. But there's still no clear commitment to a timetable for an overhaul, or certainty that it will come. "The timeline for immigration remains uncertain," acknowledged Rep. Joseph Crowley, the New York Democrat who organized the letter on immigration sent to President Obama and signed by 111 House Democrats. Time, he went on to admit, is short. Because of the November 2010 elections, "the further we go into next year ... the more difficult I think it will be to address this issue" as risk-averse incumbents avoid controversial issues like immigration. Rep. Crowley spoke during a teleconference call with reporters organized last week by the National Immigration Forum, a nonpartisan pro-immigration advocacy group in Washington, D.C., and New America Media. Immigrant advocates know that once health care reform is settled, immigration will compete with other crucial issues, including banking regulation and the interrelated climate and energy questions, for political attention, said Ali Noorani, National Immigration Forum's executive director. That is why pro-immigration groups like his are organizing letter-writing, fax, and email campaigns, to create a groundswell that will inject urgency into their demands that Congress act on immigration. As always, immigration reform pivots on one sensitive question: What happens with the nation's 12 million undocumented immigrants? While most pro-reform advocates envision a path to some sort of legal status for undocumented immigrants already in the country, opponents call such plans an amnesty that would encourage still more illegal immigration. The cries of "amnesty" sunk Congress's last serious attempt to reform immigration in 2007, and this time pro-reform advocates want to ensure that they are not drowned out by anti-immigration voices. "We must keep up the drumbeat," wrote Tamar Jacoby, head of ImmigrationWorks USA, a pro-immigration business group, in an e-mail to supporters. "Many members of Congress still don't get it. Many are still leery of immigration. And when they go home to their districts, they still hear only the voices shouting 'No.' We have to help change that." Local groups advocating for immigrants’ rights are striving to be proactive. "We need to take control of this [reform] timeline," said Chung-Wa Hong, New York Immigrant Coalition executive director. Hong, who participated in the teleconference last week with Rep. Crowley, said immigrant voters "are angry – they voted for change and they're seeing more of the same." She said that only a surge of voter demands for an immigration overhaul would galvanize Congress into action, and any expectations of a Washington, D.C.-initiated fix were politically naive. Part of the problem for immigration reform is partisanship. Rep. Crowley could cite only one possible Republican backer by name: Arizona Rep. Jeff Flake. When pushed to outline a reform plan that House Democrats could get behind, Rep. Crowley emphasized tighter border security and the targeting of "bad actor" employees who exploit undocumented immigrants. These get-tough measures are clearly designed to attract Republican support for a reform bill that would presumably create a pat moreResolved Question: I feel really betrayed, what should I do?

On one side your have the Popular Democrats raving about Health Care and World Climate, saying we need to to overhaul the Health Care System and improve World Climate. Some and very few, Republicans and Libertarian are trying to stop them because the cost of Health Care might bankrupt and cause economic collapse. Meanwhile in Copenhagen Denmark A World Climate Treaty may be signed in December that will set up a Communist World Government to police Carbon emissions, creating climate debt and tax industrialized nation into oblivion. And now I read a 2005 leaked Citigroup Memo talking bout Plutonomy and how the plutocrats need to find a way to abolish Democracy. I think they have, I think they plan on dividing America using our media, politics and industries. They have turned the world into a duality, where we must choose a side and fight amongst ourselves dividing our country. So after we have exhausted ourselves they, the plutocrats, will come and pick up the pieces, and decide how we will be ruled. And recent history has shown during the banking crisis, If America Falls the rest of the world will follow. "from wikipedia" Plutocracy is rule by the wealthy, or power provided by wealth. The combination of both plutocracy and oligarchy is called plutarchy. An Oligarchy is a form of government in which power effectively rests with a small elite segment of society distinguished by royal, wealth, intellectual, family, military, or religious hegemony. Where do we find these all entities to be most prominent in the world.... The city of London or the square mile as it is called. The City is today a major business and financial centre, ranking on a par with New York City as the leading centre of global finance, in the 19th century, the City served as the world's primary business centre. "from wikipedia" With our World Trade Centers fallen who will reign as The new World Economic Leader, The Plutocrats? Remember, In plutocracy there is no Democracy. How can President Obama get a peace prize when his nation is being divided? And our banks like Citigroup claim to American banks.... Its a damn shame we have allow this to happen to America, The Last beacon of hope for the world.I try to stay neutral when it come to politics, I don't claim any political party affiliation. Topic: Institutions and Markets (Loan Covenants) Characters: Sara, A branch manager at a large commercial bank As a young branch manager at a relatively small retail office within a large bank holding company, Sara has been challenged by her superiors to increase loan and deposit volume within her local banking market. In Sara’s first year on the job, she has designed and implemented an aggressive calling program in which she visits local businesses and solicits new corporate accounts for the bank. Her initial efforts have been most successful. In spite of strong competition from other local financial institutions, Sara has managed to land a new $2 million deposit account from a local apartment management firm, Silver Valley Estates, and she is currently negotiating with Silver Valley’s president to provide a $300,000 mortgage loan for his new personal residence. After a recent credit committee meeting at the bank’s regional headquarters where Sara presented the mortgage loan request and received approval from the bank’s senior leaders for this loan, Sara is called to her boss’s office. She can hardly contain her excitement in greeting her boss, telling him of the new mortgage loan she is planning to make. Upon hearing the news, Sara’s boss frowns and tells her of a mistake that occurred in the bank’s deposit operations center several weeks ago. It seems a group of checks worth $20,000 deposited into Silver Valley’s rental collection account two months ago were returned to the bank for nonsufficient funds by the Federal Reserve. Instead of promptly deducting the bad checks from Silver Valley’s account and returning them to the firm, one of the deposit operations clerks at the bank inadvertently placed the checks in his bottom desk drawer and forgot about them. After several weeks, the bank’s auditors located the checks, and now Sara must debit Silver Valley’s account and return the checks to the firm. Sara protests to her boss that this action would clearly be wrong, because the bank’s written policy states that checks accepted for deposit cannot be returned after the tenth business day following their date of deposit. In addition, Sara explains that one condition of the bank’s mortgage loan approval to Silver Valley’s president is that the firm must maintain a major deposit account with Sara’s branch. She knows that if she charges the Silver Valley account for the bad check loss, she will anger Silver Valley’s president, lose the $2 million deposit account and the new mortgage loan, and sacrifice all future business from Silver Valley to competing financial institutions in her local market. Sara’s boss claims that he understands her dilemma, but he is adamant in his instruction to her. The bank cannot afford a $20,000 loss to a new corporate depositor, and she must debit Silver Valley’s account to cover the bad check loss. Moreover, Sara is quietly warned that discussing this matter with any other senior officers of the bank will prove most damaging to her career. MORRISTOWN -- As Morristown Mayor Donald Cresitello is close to signing off on a federal program that would deputize police officers to work as immigration agents, a statewide organization and immigrant advocacy groups gathered today to urge the mayor against it. The program, which would give police authority to initiate deportation proceedings against illegal aliens linked to serious crimes, was denounced during a press conference held by the New Jersey Immigration Policy Network at the Morristown municipal building. A second is being held at the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office in Freehold this afternoon. "We don’t want a penny of taxpayers' money to be spent on a program that is disgraced," said Shai Goldstein, executive of the faith- and community-based coalition. The group, which comprises business, professional, labor and civil rights organization promoting immigration reform, last week sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, calling for the elimination of 287(g). Monmouth County and Morristown, along with the Hudson County Department of Corrections, are among 79 departments nationwide that have been accepted into the program, known as 287(g), which was overhauled to allay fears it would be used to target or harass immigrant groups. Civil rights leaders today said the program would invoke racial profiling. "We need fair and humane immigration policies," said Amy Gottlieb, director the Newark-based American Friends Service Committee, an immigrant rights program. Other groups participating today, including the Latino Alliance of New Jersey, Morris County Hispanic-American Chamber of Commerce, New Jersey Catholic Conference, Morristown-based Wind of the Spirit immigration resource center, American Civil Liberties Union, American Jewish Committee, said the program would frighten immigrants from cooperating with police and harm relations with Hispanics. "The mayor has come up with a plan to persecute the Hispanics and Latinos in the community," Rev. Osvaldo Jimenez, of the First Baptist Church of Morristown, said today. But Cresitello said crimes committed by illegal aliens must stop, citing the case of Porfirio Jimenez, an illegal immigrant from Honduras sentenced in February to life in prison for the murder of 10-year-old Walter Contreras Valenzuela on May 20, 2001. http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/10/nj_groups_urge_morristown_mayo.html moreVoting Question: Had many problems with the gym. How can I get out of the contract?
I am an Army Wife and have been treated extremely poorly by this gym. We could have gone to the YMCA for much cheaper, but decided to go to Court South (National Fitness Center) in Knoxville, TN due to all of the "promises" we were made. By the way, we just moved here at the end of March and I am unemployed and this gym still treats us like this. First of all, after I signed the contract and went to pay for the initial fees I was told at the register, "Oh, by the way, there is a $40.00 processing fee." They acted as if they forgot to tell me, I swallowed my pride and paid. We bought the Premier Package that included unlimited tanning and a half hour training session each month. After 3 months the trainer dropped us because Corporate was not paying him for our training sessions. He told us that someone would call us to switch trainers. No one called. We finally got a chance to speak with the Training Manager and she said that she would train us, but no one else could. My husband trained with her once and she had him do some sit ups and lunges (this is stuff we can easily do on our own). Next, I signed up for the Power of Six which was suppose to be a training and diet program with six people for six weeks. It was training for six weeks, but as far as the diet goes they just gave us a list of food to eat. They also were supposedly going to give us a work out plan for when we were on our own, but only gave us a list of things to do, all of which we had no idea what they were. While paying for the Power of Six, once again at the register I get to hear, "Oh, by the way, there is a $40 processing fee." Once again I just paid it. I did like the Power of Six training so I signed up to do it again. My husband and I were going to leave on our belated honeymoon and the gym requested that we pay for the Power of Six before leaving so that it would be in for the August month end. So we paid for it, and, yes, there was yet another $40 processing fee. Well, we got back from our honeymoon and the training was suppose to have started that night. No one contacted me and after I called, I was informed that there weren't enough people to start now and we would just have to wait until we got 6 people total, even though I had already paid the $250. So the beginning of October rolls around (seven weeks later) and they still didn't have enough people; luckily they say they are going to refund our money. Lastly, when I signed the 3 year contract I was told by the salesperson that I could cancel the membership for a $195 penalty. I just called member services and was informed that I cannot cancel the membership unless we move more than 35 miles away. This 35 miles away is not just away from the handful of clubs in the Knoxville area, but away from all of the clubs that they are in an association with. Most of those other gyms will charge $5 per day to visit, yet Court South (NFC) will not cancel their contract. Once again, we were lied to about being able to cancel the membership. My question: Is there any way I can get out of this 3 year contract? Also, if I use my freedom of speech to inform every potential customer of my experiences and the gym asks me not to come back will that forfeit the contract? Thank you so much for all of your help! P.S. I just looked this Corporation up on the Better Business Bureau and they have an 'F' rating, plus they have been blacklisted by the Attorney Generals office. moreResolved Question: Can I use a call centre in India?

Latino organizations in 25 U.S. cities are joining forces through a national technology-based campaign demanding that CNN drop Lou Dobbs from its program offerings. Their leaders are citing Dobbs’ links to immigration hard-line groups such as the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), which some consider an anti-immigrant organization, and his ongoing promotion of dangerous anti-Latino and anti-immigrant rhetoric. “Enough is enough. CNN has allowed Dobbs to spout hate on its network for too long, and his alignment with a hate group like FAIR should be the last straw,” said Roberto Lovato of Presente.org, the national online group that is organizing the effort. FAIR was founded by John Tanton, decried by the Southern Poverty Law Center for his connection to white supremacist organizations. According to U.S. Census Bureau data, there are 46.9 million Latinos in the U.S., making people of Hispanic origin the nation’s largest ethnic or race minority. Recent studies tie anti-immigrant hate speech to increased violence against Latinos. Dobbs is joining FAIR’s annual “Hold Their Feet to the Fire” event, which is taking place in Washington D.C. today and tomorrow. The conference topics include “How Best to Close Illegal Alien Loophole in House Health Care Bill,” even though it’s been widely reported that undocumented immigrants are forbidden from receiving health care benefits under proposed plans. Dobbs’ involvement in the FAIR event is the most recent action upsetting Hispanic activists nationwide. Back in March, he criticized President Barack Obama for speaking about education reform to members of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a group in Washington, D.C. that advocates on behalf of Hispanic-owned businesses in the U.S., calling it “crazy stuff.” He apologized days later. “We are calling on CNN President Jon Klein to drop Dobbs if he and his network are to maintain any semblance of credibility in the fast-growing Latino media market,” Lovato said. Organizers are asking supporters to join the campaign by visiting www.DropDobbs.com. The groups involved in the campaign are based in the 25 U.S. cities with the largest Latino populations, which account for more than 75 percent of the entire Hispanic television audience in the country. http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/news_hispanicaffairs/2009/09/latino-advocates-ask-cnn-to-drop-lou-dobbs.html moreResolved Question: Is the USA on its way to be a "communistic nation"?

By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR, Associated Press Writer Ricardo Alonso-zaldivar, Associated Press Writer – Sat Aug 22, 9:45 am ET WASHINGTON – One of the most widely accepted arguments against a government medical plan for the middle class is that it would quash competition — just what private insurers seem to be doing themselves in many parts of the U.S. Several studies show that in lots of places, one or two companies dominate the market. Critics say monopolistic conditions drive up premiums paid by employers and individuals. For Democrats, the answer is a public plan that would compete with private insurers. Republicans see that as a government power grab. President Barack Obama looks to be trapped in the middle of an argument that could sink his effort to overhaul the health care system. Even lawmakers opposed to a government plan have problems with the growing clout of the big private companies. "There is a serious problem with the lack of competition among insurers," said Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine, one of the highest-cost states. "The impact on the consumer is significant." Wellpoint Inc. accounted for 71 percent of the Maine market, while runner-up Aetna had a 12 percent share, according to a 2008 report by the American Medical Association. Proponents of a government plan say it could restore a competitive balance and lead to lower costs. For one thing, it wouldn't have to turn a profit. A study by the Urban Institute public policy center estimated that a public plan could save taxpayers from $224 billion to $400 billion over 10 years by lowering the cost of proposed subsidies for the uninsured, while preserving private coverage for most people. "Right now, there's no incentive for insurers or big hospital groups to negotiate with each other, because they can pass higher payments on through premiums," said economist Linda Blumberg, co-author of the report. "A public plan would have the leverage to set lower payment rates and get providers to participate at those rates." "The private plans would come back to the providers and say, 'If you don't negotiate with me, you're going to be left with only the public plan.'" Blumberg continued. "Suddenly, you have a very strong economic incentive for them to negotiate." Insurers contend their industry is extremely competitive, and a public plan is unnecessary. About 1,300 carriers operate across the country, although many only have a small share of the market in their states. "You can have a very competitive market and still have companies with a high market share," said Alissa Fox, a top Washington lobbyist for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. Fox points to the federal employee health program, which also covers members of Congress. It offers a total of more than 260 options and 10 nationwide plans. Despite all the choices, about 60 percent of federal workers pick a Blue Cross plan. "Insurers need to be of a significant size to best serve their customers and make sure that people get the best value," Fox said. Nonetheless, lawmakers are concerned. Big insurers are getting bigger. Small businesses in particular have fewer and fewer options for getting coverage. Congressional investigators this year looked at insurers catering to small employers around the country. The Government Accountability Office found that the median _or midpoint — market share of largest carrier increased to 47 percent in 2008 from 33 percent in 2002. There's widespread recognition among lawmakers that a health care overhaul should foster more competition among insurers. The debate is over how far to go. The basic framework lawmakers are looking at would encourage competition, even without a government plan. It calls for setting up a big insurance purchasing pool called an exchange. It would be open, at least initially, to individuals and small businesses. The government would offer subsidies to make premiums more affordable. Consumers would find it much easier to shop for a plan through the exchange. For one thing, they would be able to readily compare benefits and premiums in different plans. Also, participating insurers would have to take all applicants and not charge higher premiums to those in poor health. Offering the option of a public plan would supercharge the competition, supporters say. Blumberg envisions a plan that pays medical providers more than Medicare, but less than private insurance. Her study estimated it could grow to 47 million members, leaving 161 million with private insurance. Even so, that would make the new public plan one of the largest insurers in the country, rivaling Medicare, Medicaid and big private companies such as Wellpoint and UnitedHealthcare. It's a scenario that gives pause even to traditional adversaries of the insurance companies. "The fear and concern is that the public plan could become the market-dominant plan," said Dr. James Rohack, president of the America moreResolved Question: Who also agrees that a celebrities personal life is no ones business?
Celebrities are people, just like us. They have a job and that's to entertain us. Are we *really* entitled to know abut their private lives? Aren't they entitled to privacy just like the rest of the working world? And we as fans, if we truly care about them, shouldn't we respect their privacy? I mean being a celebrity nowadays is hardly worth it if you sell you're whole life just to please others. Please don't give me that "They knew what they were signing on for when they became a celebrity!" because I don't think anyone would want to be a celebrity if they knew *exactly* what they were in for...people clamoring for every bit of personal info only to judge them on it. Sure they know they'll be the center of attention, but tabloid attention and paparazzi crawling up their asses 24/7 is hardly worth it all. NO one is THAT big a masochist! Put yourself in their position...you had to protect your family because people were calling them names in public, you were getting lied on/to/about by tabloids, people jumping out of the bushes and calling you names so you'll give them an angry face and they can sell that photo of you for tens of thousands of dollars to a sh*t rag paper who will put that picture over the heading, "This star angry for having to donate money to an orphanage against his/her will just to save their sagging career!" when you never donated, only planned to? You couldn't go anywhere, do anything, your entire life was lived in a public fish bowl? I got wireless Telstra USB broadband 2 months ago, and when I phoned them to ask why they hadn't sent me a bill, I found out that the broadband plan they put me on was not the one I had been sold. It was a completely different and more expensive plan. Now I have a $924 bill from them. They say that they have no record of me being sold the cheaper package - even though the bloke on the phone created a username for me during that call. I spoke to a manager at the call centre, but she says I am in the wrong because I agreed to the Telstra terms and conditions when I first plugged in the modem. She also denied that it was basically fraud to sell someone something, and then charge them for something else more expensive. The plan I was offered was half-price for the first 12 months, with a free USB modem. The one they put me on and are charging me for is double the price and the modem is $299. I would not have agreed to that plan. I did not agree to that plan. They put me on the more expensive plan without my consent. The manager also said that I have to pay the bill in one go. I asked about a payment plan, and she said no. How are these bastards still in business? I planned when I graduated in 2007 to get my Master's but I wanted tuition assistance from a employer. Well my employer is a small company so they do not offer that as a employee benefit. I'm planning to visit a local scientology center with a few friends ... and one or two bodyguards. My personal view of scientology is that it's a business, not religion, and has more than a few cult-ish aspects. Plus, I'm a devoted catholic, so i think it's BS. But, I also like to learn, so I'm going to find out about scientology. In a 'the educated mind can entertain a thought without accepting it' point of view, rather than a 'OMG i have to join this, all the celebrities are!' view. I do have to admit - I'm a little uneasy, and for good reason if all the 'scientology is a horrendous, family separating, mentally abusing, sociopathic demononic church' stories are true. Even if I'm going in completely dismissive of anything they say, it's hard not to be scared. Still, I'm determined to go, just because the insatiable curiosity and need for knowledge in me is acting up again. Now to the point: What should I do or think over (for lack of a better phrase) before going to El Scientologio? Has anybody ever been there? Any advice for me before I go in? Will I immediately lose my soul and be swallowed into the firey brimstone of hell the second my foot touches the polished marble floor inside? I'm basically looking for advice before I enter the 'crypt of the cult' as one friend calls it. Oh - do they make you pay to enter the building, too?Apparently people think the 'raid' means an actual storming the compound with bible in hand. The 'raid' is a joke. Take the community re-investment act for example. Based on the idea that banking should be a two-way street in which the community provides customers but it also gets loans. Makes sense. In my own business we try to make it a policy to never buy anything from anybody who doesn't buy from us. Two-way street = Big Idea. Then it got corrupted because community organizers took it a bridge too far. They snuck around and got the Federal Banking regulators to pass laws that made community lending mandatory. They gamed the system by creating an artificial mandate -- federal law. Force is violence. Violence distorts markets. The poor suddenly found they could become home owners just as long as they didn't pay too close attention to the paperwork being filled out for them by Fannie, Freddie, Countrywide, Citi, Chase, etc ect. After the first 1000 of so people got half-million dollar loans on $5,000 per year of free cash flow, they all figured out to not look too closely at the paperwork -- just let the guy fill it out so they could sign it. So, who is the liar here? The people who snuck around behind the system and gamed it by getting the Federal laws pased that became the Community Re-investment Act. Was that a big idea? Yes, it was. Was it Well-intentioned? Let's assume that it was -- help the poor dear darling poor people who don't have enough and deserve more -- OK, forget your own politics just try to imagine a way left of center person whose intentions are to do *good* -- oh how squishy -- let's just all get along -- and do *good*. Here's another one 1971 Nixon decides to take USA off the Gold Standard. No gold standard means paper money is not backed by anything. It's green paper with words on it. Big idea -- Sure it threw out Bretton Woods. Well intended? Possibly it's hard to know what Nixon was ever thinking about anything. That's why they called him "tricky". Result -- We now add a $Trillion to our national debt every month or so, with no end in sight. The Chinese say "oh we love American paper money -- we pledge to always love it -- just please print and send more and more" But they are "tricky" folk. You can't always count on them to mean what they say. One way to translate their remarks would be "We are looking for a way to get out from under bales and bales of American paper money, but we want to do it quietly so we get out at least somewhat intact. In the meantime, we want to talk up the wonderfulness of the dollar. We are clever. We have 6000 years of experience as merchants. We don't call ourselves the Central Kingdom for nothing." (note this is my own translation -- if it doesn't seem right, feel free to do your own). I'm not saying that all well-intended big ideas always turn into the scourge of mankind, I'm just saying when we look for the scourge of mankind, it almost always can be traced back to a well-intended big idea. (The Marshall Plan seems to have worked out well, and the Apollo Program too, right?). But if the proposed question is answered in the affirmative, would this not counsel prudence in jumping to accept the Obama Healthcare Plan or the Obama Climate Change Plan? Mankind doesn't need more scourges, right? I was glad to see Obama elected. No, I am not a Liberal, by a longshot. Yes, I think that he will do a pretty good job, no worse than Jimmy Carter anyway. No, I have no problem with taxing the rich or with raising the tax on gasoline. Yes, I have a degree in Management Science, and am very outcomes oriented, not ideology oriented, or process oriented. Yes, this question will call on the alpha thinkers among you -- the Dinkum Thinkums. Yes, it's OK to have poeple like that. Yes, I appreciate hearing from them, a lot. moreResolved Question: Text and voice mail stalker... REALLY need opinions?
I know this girl for a short period of time, but we hit it off well at first and hung out a good bit for like a month or two. But then she became a bit too much, a bit weird, so I gradually decreased contact. She did come on to me few times before, but I softly rejected her, that "I valued her friendship too much to mess it up". After a month of not talking, she comes back and starts texting me like crazy - sometimes up to 4 times a day, even though I never respond. She leaves me voice messages in a foreign language that she knows I barely speak, so I don't know exactly what she's saying. She calls and sounds on voice mail as in we have plans to hang out, but she's canceling on me instead - even though we haven't talked in over 2 months and definitely haven't made any arrangements... She lets me know her life and travel plans on voice mail... Also, due to random meetings over our short-lived friendship, she knows where I live and work. She's also in the same university's master's program as I am. She often recently "just happens to be in my business center, so let's go to lunch" and stuff like that. Even though it's not scary or illegal in itself, the combination of everything else makes it very disturbing to me. I made the mistake of replying to her 2 or 3 times over these months, nothing more than "I'm really busy and can't talk", or "in a meeting", so then she continues to text, calls me "babe", send random smileys and stuff. IMPORTANT: I was told before by other people that she has stalked her ex after the breakup - doing drive-by's by her house, trying to hook up with the ex's friends, even applied for a position at the ex's company. I know for sure about the job thing, but the other stuff is just hear-say from mutual friends. She is never aggressive on her messages, so I don't know whether I should be worried, or just annoyed. I don't really know how to address it. I am afraid of sounding like an idiot if I tell her to stop contacting me - because she can easily make it sound to our mutual friends like I am the bipolar freak who went from being friends to not wanting to talk for no reason. Also, she is very shady about her past, but I know she worked for the government, on some non-disclosure service. So I am afraid she may have some connections or do something weird to me through that. Thoughts/advice/ideas? moreVoting Question: What do you think of my story so far (updated version)?
My story is a fantasy/adventure story. I plan on writing over 200 pages. Tell me what you think of the story so far. I have no title yet, but I'll come up with one soon. Now Blairston was not your average town, by no means. It laid in a quaint valley on the outskirts of Philadelphia where the farms were plenty and where the weather was also pristine. The town had a population of about 3,000 and was quite renowned for its inviting and laid back atmosphere. Everybody kept to themselves and only got together during the annual Blairston Holiday Bash, in which 3 days were devoted to nonstop eating, drinking, singing, and dancing. What was different about Blairston then other towns was that a handful of the residents contained vast amounts of wealth, far beyond anyone’s imagination. For these select folks, life was carefree. The majority of the town consisted of rows of oddly shaped and almost identical townhomes in which most of the middle class folks resided. For the Buckingham family, Blairston was the ideal place to live in. Dean Buckingham, a lean, fairly tall, and extremely proper man, grew up in Blairston and eventually moved to Chicago when he was 20. Dean climbed the ranks of the business scene and built up a technology empire worth $500 million. He had more cars than you would know what to do with and enough watches for every day of the year. Chicago life was becoming a bit too hectic, so Dean decided to move back to Blairston with his wife and thought it would be the best location to raise his children. The Buckinghams moved to Lioncrest Estates, one of the most guard gated and elite communities in all of the North. The community was nestled up on a gently sloping hill and you could see all of Blairston from up there. Not quite where you expected a community of that prescence to be, right? Well, as you could imagine, the other residents of Blairston had mixed feelings about Lioncrest as well as heard many strange rumors about it. Some had heard of inexplicable forces that lurked beyond the large iron gates, magical forces at that. Others had heard of an underground world filled with magical creatures that lied beneath the gated community. But these were merely stories, nobody in the town had ever stepped foot in Lioncrest except for the dozen or so families who lived there. What the Buckinghams didn’t know, was that they were about to embark on a journey beyond their wildest dreams. “Luke, Emma, time for breakfast”, yelled Linda from the foyer. The kids, full of energy, came running down the grand double staircase and entered into the kitchen. “Mom, I don’t want to go to school,” professed Luke anxiously. “What if the other kids make fun of me and call me names?” Luke was very slender like his father and he had thick curly hair and wore large glasses that were undeniably too big for his head. “Now sweetie, I told you this before. Everything is going to be fine. If you have any problems you go straight to your teacher. You Understand?” said Linda. “Alright, lets go kids, off to school”, said Dean. The kids grabbed their lunchboxes and headed out through the front door kissing their mom as they left. “Have fun, and Luke, please watch out for your sister”, said Linda. The school, which was attended by both the towns kids and the the uppercrust kids from Lioncrest, was small and consisted of only 5 teachers. You could sense the history of the building as you walked in. The classrooms contained individual desks that dated back to the early 1900’s and the floors were made of old timber. Dean dropped off Luke and Emma and headed to his daily job as a volunteer at the nearby Medical Treament Center. Since he had more money than he knew what to do with, Dean didn’t have to work. But, being one who always has to be productive, Dean found something to do during the day. As Luke and Emma walked along the meandering brickstone path towards the school entrance, they could hear kids snickering behind them. “What’s a nerd like yourself doing in a town like this?” a 6th grader said while trying to hold back his laughter. “Go back to Lioncrest, you rich little momma’s boy!” Luke tried to contain himself. He did not want to show the bully that he was upset. So, he kept on walking and didn’t turn back. “Cheer up Luke”, said Emma in a high-pitched voice as she grabbed his hand.Boom! “What was that?” screamed Linda. The whole house shook for a few seconds. It was nothing like she had every experienced. She looked out the window and everything seemed perfectly fine. The crisp cold air gently pillowed into the room. The street was eerily quiet and no one else seemed to be awakened. “It must have been a transformer that exploded or something like that,” explained Dean in an overly tired manner. Dean, Linda’s husband, had moved the family to their new home about a week ago. They lived in a peaceful town by the name of Blairston. Now Blairston was not your average town, by no means. It laid in a quaint valley on the outskirts of Philadelphia where the farms were plenty and where the weather was also pristine. The town had a population of about 3,000 and was quite renowned for its inviting and laid back atmosphere. minimum wage is going to be set to 7.25 per hour, and will be as such by the time we hire employees. Basically, we have a call center sales job type business where we plan to pay 7.25 per hour against commissions. They will be paid that amount until their commissions exceed that amount. In order for us to do accurate projections as to when we will actually be able to hire employees, we need to know how much they will actually cost each per month. let's assume that they work 40 hours per week and NO overtime. I understand we have to pay taxes for these employees, and probably unemployment and various other things. Those "other things" are kind of where i'm at a lack for knowledge as well as how much those taxes typically are. 7.25 x 160 hours per month = $1,160. What are the other costs on average? By the way we're in Texas and they WILL be W-2 employees.i REALLY wish someone would shut down that posting robot that posts affiliate links all over everyone's questions. FYI DONT click those links. some asshole gets PAID when you do. ----------- Aside from that, thanks for the info! it was very helpful and is exactly what i needed!snpuck.. thanks for the info..... as for the 168, the attorney general says that we cant have employees working over 40 hours at all unless they make over 8k per month because of our line of work, so does this still apply? also, in regards to the call center thing, no..... i'm not spamming people.. they sign up for info on our website and we call them. we don't call people out of the white pages. i have no respect for that type of company and definitely wouldn't start one... it's completely -100%- solicited. except for the odd case where some idiot puts fake info into the form, in which we figure it out and remove that person from the list never to be called again. thx moreVoting Question: Business plan for call center?

FELIX FERRIES LTD Felix Ferries Ltd operates ships on the crossing between Great Yarmouth and Zeebrugge in Belgium. Although the market is competitive and strongly seasonal, with most demand in the summer months, the company has usually been profitable. However, since 2002 its financial performance has declined. In 2005, the company announced its first loss of 5 £750 000. The directors of Felix Ferries Ltd have developed a plan to improve the company's financial performance. The plan centres on bringing a new ferry, called Enterprise, into service. Financial Director, Klaudia Fisher, outlined the benefits expected. •Enterprise has a smaller capacity - up to 40 lorries and 120 cars, meaning it will be used 10more intensively. Lower variable costs - although each crossing by Enterprise will incur fixed costs of £8000, the variable costs will average £40 for each lorry and £10 per car. The possibility of reducing staff numbers on the new ferry. A smarter image for the company - its existing vessels are outdated and unreliable. 15• A quicker crossing the Enterprise is more powerful and faster than the company's other ferries. Klaudia said that Enterprise would cost £12.5 million although a cheaper version of the ferry was available. However, the company had opted for the more expensive version and had arranged a £10 million loan. Klaudia had drawn up cash flow forecasts as part of her 20 financial planning and argued that this was vital for the long-term success of the company. In addition she planned to operate the Enterprise as a profit centre. Klaudia was positive about the new ferry. "Our market research suggests that, with the quicker crossing, we can expect an average of 20 lorries and 80 cars on each journey. Our pricing policy will be £250 per lorry and £60 per car. We should make a profit, but 25 Enterprise needs a high level of sales to break even." calculate the expected profit or loss to be earned by enterprise on each crossing from great yarmouth to zeebrugge.????? can you answer that questions please moreTop Business Plan For Call Centers Links
