What Makes a Good Business Phone?

What makes a good business phone? Isn't this a question most people think of the moment they get their first management job or promotion to a senior level? At times, it's a question of status; you just need to have a chunky phone to boast of, or pretend to be a very busy person. But those who seek a device to increase their productivity are often left confused and have to depend on the wisdom of colleagues and friends when it comes to buying a new business phone.

I came across a gentleman who sought my advice regarding this. He was from the IT management sector and needed a phone only to make and receive calls. A 2.5k Motorola W220 kept him satisfied. He preferred a laptop for all his mobile computing needs. Anyway, he now owns a Sony Ericsson P1i and is at peace with himself. more

Levitt Corp. changes name South Florida Business Journal

"We believe the new name is appropriate given the company's current and future business strategy, which will include acquisitions and investments both within and outside the real estate industry," Chief Executive Officer Alan B. Levan said in a news release.

The statement does not give details regarding into which areas Woodbridge intends to expand.

Levitt started in 1929 as a luxury home builder, and the company takes credit for starting the community concept 20 years later with Levittown, N.Y., on Long Island. It attracted soldiers returning from World War II.

Cigna HealthCare of Arizona launches more small-business insurance

Cigna HealthCare of Arizona announced Tuesday it is adding more health plans targeting small businesses.

Beginning June 1, businesses with 50 or fewer employees will get some of the same benefits previously only offered to larger companies. The insurer is adding three health savings plans and eight open access plans targeting small businesses.

Jason Holmes, group health insurance broker for Employee Benefit Exchange Corp. in Mesa, said Cigna's new offerings should be good for small businesses, as long as the rates are good.

"If the rates aren't affordable, nobody is going to have access to these great things in place," said Holmes, whose brokerage targets businesses with two to 150 employees.

Depending on the type of plan an employer chooses, employees could gain access to a national network of more than 500,000 physicians, hospitals and other health professionals. more
