DRAW MORE YOUNG PEOPLE TO CRAFT INDUSTRY CALL BY PM
KUALA LUMPUR, March 28 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today urged handicraft entrepreneurs to help expose more young people to the great potential the industry holds for them. The prime minister said that besides developing the art, they would also be offering jobs to the many unemployed graduates. "I believe that by being exposed to the industry, the young people will be drawn to the sector because of the great potential it holds for them. Then, they should be provided with suitable training. "Introduce them to the grand masters in the field. I am convinced there exist many people out there who may not have paper qualifications but are highly skilled to train our young people," he said when launching National Craft Day 2008, here. Abdullah said he was convinced that with a more organised marketing strategy, the country's craft products could penetrate the international market more extensively. more

Whether you have owned a business for many years or are just starting out, buying or selling a business is a unique challenge, and one that you may not have faced before.
There are a number of factors that should be considered as you work toward making your decision.
Develop your strategy
One of the first things you need to do is identify the goals that you intend to achieve with the transaction and then develop a strategy to achieve those goals. more

Open Question: I Finally Came up with the Perfect Business Name the Problem is I'm not the First One who Thought of It?
Ok so I'm opening a face painting business and I've been brainstorming names for weeks. I only came up with one name that I love and that's Fairytale Faces. Unfortunately I founf another face painting business going by this name. Although according to U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) they're unregistered, I think they still have rights to it. Anyway would is pose a problem to create a similar name. I'm thinking of Fairytale Face Painting or Fairytail faces Suggestions? Thanks! moreOpen Question: Can someone claim trademark to a name online outside of his jurisdiction?
My partner and I have a small business repacking coffee beans. We are registered here in the Philippines with DTI. We opened up a shop on Multiply with our business name (for example, "Golden Bean Coffee"). Then just yesterday, our Multiply account was suspended because another coffee company in North Carolina who had the same trademark ("Golden Bean Coffee") claimed we were violating their trademark. Is that allowed? Considering we are in the Philippines and the other company was in the US? We're selling our beans online, to both local and foreign buyers. What do we do? Change our name or stick to it? moreOpen Question: Does having a 'DBA' (doing business as) keep someone else from using that business name?
I have a DBA in place for my website name, but wanted to know how to go about making sure no one else takes the name for their business. Whats the best way to make sure no one else takes the name?? I know about trademarking it (is this best), but is there other ways?? moreOpen Question: I'm trying to start my own photoraphy business....any ideas?
Have A Name for it and have taken pictures and made a book of these pictures..what do I need to focus. should i get my name trademark or copyright....and whats the difference moreVoting Question: How can I start my story?
I am a writer in the making, but I always find it hardest to write an introduction. I know it needs to be catchy and interesting, and I am always getting bored by writing the beginning and describing everything, because I always want to just get right into the story. The story I am currently working on is this (Summary): Adriana had always lived in her small town, Silverdale. With a low population, everyone knew everyones business, but she didn't mind. It was home, and they were family. Raised by her wise Nena, it was always her who guided her to the right side of a decision. But when she wakes up one day and sees a new, crescent shaped scar in her palm that was not there before, her whole town is suddenly afraid of her, and even her beloved Nena is choosing to stay away. Lost and afraid, she gets comfort from a new mysterious boy Ryder who will only show himself at night, but is he all what he seems? And more importantly, who is Adriana Ghale? And here is my failed, short introducted paragraph (I'm going to make it much, much longer if I stick to it though): Along the bottom coast of the state California resides a small beach town by the name of Silverdale. With a population of exactly nine hundred and thirty three people, it was no surprise that it hadn’t even made the map of California. It’s only true trademark was Sky Reef, and even then no one chose to visit the small town. Tsunami’s and tidal waves were common, at least one small one happened every year. The strongest tsunami that had ever hit had been in 1999, and that had only destroyed one home. It was a peaceful little town with sunny skies, with no clouds every around to downcast someone. Also, does anyone have any idea what I should call it? I was thinking just 'Silverdale' because the beach town is a huge part of the story. I have created a company. Lets call it newyorkmedicine.com. Lets assume I sell medicine. I did trademark research and Whois research and a general google search. Nothing came up. I launched my website registered my trademark at federal level and did much work promoting my name. Down the road, I found a website, newyorkmedication.com. They sell practically the same products under their own label and have been around longer than I have. Nowhere are they registered except their domain name. I did further research and found out that the owner promotes himself all over the internet as a tatto artist and his business newyorkmedication.com is located in Flagstaff, AZ. The telephone number on his website has been disconnected and there is no external links to newyorkmedication.com. Anything found is for his tattoo shop which the number is also disconnected. Now I have the name registered, my office is actually in New York City, and Its my only business. Maybe he is not in business as his contact info is invalid and he is nowhere legally registered. Korea is known as the “Land of the Morning Calm.” This expression comes from the beginning of the modern history of Korea. Koryo means “high” and “clear.” This word symbolizes the clear blue sky of Korea. The beautiful nature of Korea is expressed through this ancient name. The beginning of Korean history started from 2333 B.C. The Korean peninsular adjoins China and Japan. Korea was conquered by Japan and divided into South and North Korea at the end of World War II. The Korean War caused devastating damage to Korea. However, it should be noticed that despite frequent foreign invasions, the Korean Peninsula has been under a single government while maintaining its political independence, culture and ethnic heritage. Not that long ago, South Korea was one of Asia’s economic success stories – one of the region’s hungry “tigers” looking around for new markets to conquer. Ok. I own a little WWE stock and was just checking my account, and this release just came out. I'm curious of a few things and wonder if anybody here can shed some light: -I don't notice a statement of who he's replacing. Generally a release like this says that someone's stepped down or whatever and so-and-so is being promoted. What's the difference? I was reading an article about the guy who invented those yellow ribbon magnets that people put on their cars. He apparently ended up losing his business because he never protected the idea and other businesses stole it. So, which should he have used? It's a piece of "graphic" art, so would he do copyright? From what I've read, patents seem to be for a specific design, so he'd of had to do a new patent for every design, right? Is Trademark just for the company name/logo? moreResolved Question: Trademark Business Name to save the name?
What is the legalities if I trademark a name I know I will use for my business in the future? I came up with a name I know I want and need, but I'm still an undergrad in college and won't be opening my business for a couple of years. How would I trademark this name? Can I still trademark it as a company name even though I won't actually run a company with that name for a couple of years or do I trademark it as something else? Just don't want someone to think of the name in the next couple of years. Thank You moreResolved Question: What is trademark violations for people called?

I'll just include a few straight-forward details to aim for an exact answer. I am a photographer. I consider it a hobby, but have been hired for three weddings, four portraiture shoots, and do plenty of outdoors work. I have been re-hired to do some post wedding pictures for a family album. To cut-to-the-chase, I despise arrogance, but frankly, I'm a pretty good photographer. The one thing that I can always count on hearing is "why don't you make it a business?" I'm sixteen, and have no idea of how to run a business. Lately, though, I've been thinking a lot about selling some of my photography. Now that you know where I'm coming from, I'll ask my question. =D My name is Trent Smith. If I advertise my work under "Trent Smith Photography," must I register it as a trademark or under "fictitious name" contract? Or can I just use that title, with it being my real name? moreVoting Question: Naming products, Copyright laws question?
