It's time to set aside prudish sensibilities

Not the hyper-sexualized breasts that we see in advertisements, magazines, movies, billboards, and even frequently see on young preteens who wander around local malls.

I'm willing to bet that the breastfeeding mom had less visible flesh than many of the bikini-clad pool-goers. And yet she was the one who was targeted.

I disagree strongly with Martin's suggestion that we drop the issue. Publicity of issues like this is what raises public awareness. Just as all other civil rights violations are debated, hashed out and beaten like a dead horse, this one should have as much media time.

This one should raise as much rage and ire.

It is time that we, as a society, stop placing our own prudish sensibilities ahead of the needs of a young infant or child. more

My dog was hit and killed by a truck on new years day. She was a german shepherd named Princess. I loved my dog and I'm sitting here crying my eyes out right now because I feel it is my fault my dog is dead. This is what happened.... I got up new years day and was greeted with the sweet face of my doggie. She was by my bed waiting anxiously for me to get up and start a day of play with her. I let her out to do her business and then she came back in and bounded happily to me with her favorite toy in her mouth. I cleaned myself up and got dressed and was getting ready to start my day with Princess. My mom asked me to go to the store for her to pick up something for our new years dinner my dog went with me we went everywhere together. When we came back home I was trying to put my dog's leash on so I could take her for a walk. While I was doing this Princess suddenly started getting very excited about something I saw what she was so excited about, she wanted to get at a cat that was crossing the street. I grabbed hold of her and was trying to hold her back but she slipped away from me and took off running after the cat. The cat ran back to the other side of the street and Princess was right behind the cat. The kitten made it across the street but when my dog ran in the street a truck came speeding down my street hit my dog and kept going. He didn't even stop or slow down. I ran to my dog and was cradling her in my arms while I was screaming for my mother to come help me. I started crying and talking to Princess and telling her to "please don't leave me" but it was too late. Princess raised her head up looked at me with tears streaming down my face and gave me one last kiss as if she was saying goodbye and that she loved me and for me not to be sad and that it wasn't my fault.Then she started gasping for air and then I felt her body go limp. She closed her eyes and then she was gone. I sat in the middle of the street crying and holding Princess. A few seconds later my mom and my neighbor came out and saw me in the street holding my dog and they ran over to me. They thought she was still living but she was already dead!!! I feel it was my fault because if I would've put her leash on before I took her out of the car she would still be alive. My mom,sister, and my brother say it's not my fault but I know deep down they blame me for our dogs death I blame myself too. I did get the trucks license plate though. I am severely depressed, i've been diagnosed with severe depression. I have to force myself to get out of bed. It's hard for me to eat, sleep, go to work or do anything I think about suicide alot. I don't go anywhere anymore my friends try to get me to go out with them but I'm just not interested in doing anything. My mom says maybe I need to go to counseling but I don't want to. I haven't been out of the house in 2 days I'm on vacation for 2 weeks from work but I don't plan to do anything.... I don't want to do anything. I want to be with my dog I never got the chance to tell her goodbye and that I loved her. I know this sounds silly but I would do anything just to get the chance to have her back even if it's only for a minute so I could tell her goodbye and that I love her and miss her terribly. My heart's torn to pieces completely.I can't make it without her she was my baby. I never thought losing a pet could hurt this much. Has anyone else gone through this? I went to see the most incredible psychic ever today. Her name is Loraine Rees. I would definitely recommend! I have never been into the psychic/medium business, but a friend persuaded me to go, so thought why not.. She got all my info absolutely SPOT ON.. It's a home business sole proprietorship in CT. It will be a year or more before I hire any employees. I'm not buying things in its name and I don't yet have anything to sell. The product is in the middle of development by me. So while it does "exist", financially there is nothing really too it right now. I want to legally declare my business so that while I'm talking with potential future business partners I have a professional image and can say that I am indeed a business. Also, I just want to get it out of the way so that I can just worry about my product and so when my product is done I don't have to go through all of this before making any sales. I'm not going to mention any company names but i worked for a man in the cleanup business making $10/hour. After being fired over a text a few months ago I realized I need my final check, which amounted up to $1,400. I got the check, which bounced. I called my former boss and he replied with "My account got switched to a new bank account, therefore, the check bounced." After this conversation i've tried calling him back and i left him a message asking if i could stop by for my check and he hasn't called me back. I'm a 17 year old boy, I got fired because evidently i didn't work enough when thanksgiving came around (i make my own hours), i was never late for work, and i don't know what to do from here. Have i been screwed?? more

My girlfriend and I have been dating for 4 years, going on our 5th. Age 13-18. We always go to places together. Even places very far. Disney-Land, Vegas, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and much much more. We would always talk together how we would get married, think of a name for our child and everything. I gave her a job at my family run business, and she's gotten even happier. Not too long ago she wanted to move into my house. I let her call my family her family. We love her so much. She helps us at work if it gets busy. We used to fight and complain about small things, but we get over it, heal and get closer, but I might have thought wrong... I need some time after we fight because I want to prove a point about something but she proves a better point. She's right so I always drive off somewhere sit down and think. After that I would go back home and giver her a hug and a kiss. 2 months from this very date I'm typing this, she had met a new friend. He's a good guy. He sings, hes athletic, hes smart. Chick magnet right? My girlfriend had been telling me she wants to go out to karaoke, dinner, and much more. I said okay, but come back home. Shes been coming home later, later, later... I couldn't take it anymore. She left her phone in the room and got a text from the guy saying "I love you too". I broke to pieces. What did I do wrong! I gave her a home, a job, a family... What?... She told me it was just a friend, like a brotherly love thing. I just went with it. Then she never kissed my lips anymore, go places with me. I thought about it. 4 years relationship, could it be real shed do this to me? What happened to the times we've had together? Everything is flashing through my head like a movie projector. When I see pictures of them together, cheek to cheek, I get... I don't know... He's a good friend of my sister's too, and I don't know why he's pulling her to him, instead of repelling her saying "you have a boyfriend". I made my decision. I broke up. I cried for days on end. Morning to night. How could this happen. I wanted her back and asked if she wanted to come back to me. She agreed. We got back together, and now we're able to kiss with our lips. They still call each other, still flirt with each other... I thought hey at least shes back, until I saw another "I love you so much!!! I want to see you!" That killed me inside. I feel dead. I really want her back, and I'm working on it. I took her out to eat a few times already. What I believe is that I can get her back. I'm giving it a try. Right of the bat, yes I fully understand that there are parallels between the Obama administration and the theme of the book, but it was written well before 2009 and it was popular before then, so please leave political bickering behind unless it is vital to your opinion. There is a reason that I put this under literature and not politics. Now as for the book itself, why do people enjoy it? I found it unbearable for the following reasons: -1,000 pages is entirely tooooooooooooo long. Sometimes the 60 page monologues got to be a bit much. -The plot got worse and worse. I kept hoping to myself somewhere along the line that it would take a logical turn to where the heroes were ummm heroic, but it never did. I will say that the good little guy versus evil big guy plot is often used, so it was very interesting to see the good big guy versus evil big guy used. -So Dagny has been working with railroads and trains her entire life and when a train conductor leaves she refuses to run it and insists on calling a new conductor, but she has no issues piloting an airplane solo when she has never done it before? Really? -Dagny, the hero in the book, willfully sleeps with anyone she wishes and still imagines herself as a paragon of virtue. She breaks up the marriage by sleeping with the husband with no regrets simply because she wanted to and this is a heroic act on her part. -The heroes of the book willfully plot and orchestrate the fall of America so that they can come back and control it, and once again, this is seen as a heroic act. -D'anconia runs his family business into the ground, ruining his family's name and honor, and leaving tens of thousands out of work. -The business titans, accustomed to being millionaires (present day equivalent of billionaires) leave all material possessions behind so that they can happily be chimney sweepers in a valley because they would "be free." Who would actually believe that? -The Scandinavian pirate, I can't remember his name, supports this entire community through money he stole from charities by force and traded illegally on the black market, and is seen as a hero. -Essentially, I could have summed that up by saying the protagonists do unspeakable things against humanity on behalf of their own greed, but are considered heroic for it. If you read this far, thanks. I'm not trying to start an argument and I won't thumbs down anyone who disagrees with me, I am genuinely curious as I couldn't stand it. more

Therefore her day pretty much consisted of sleeping until eight at night and then going to sleep at seven in the morning. It was a hectic life but Jenna should handled it well. I smiled when I thought about it. My mother had always told me that we were night owls, all three of us. My eyes saddened as I thought about my older brother Matthew. He had just disappeared the night our parents were murdered. It was odd, but in a way this was the thing that kept me living day to day. Matt hadn't died, well at least he wasn't found when the police searched the house for his body. I smiled thinly as I walked across the busy LA street. Okay I'm just going to explain my life.When i was little I lived in jersey city,NJ.I found it fun there and life was greeeeeat for me.I lived with my dad,mom,and older sister and we were one big happy family.I loved my school,friends,life and family.Only thing bad in my family was that my mom HATED her boss.She was a mean lady lol.But other than that my mom loved everything else.My parents made loads of money to thr point where me and my sis could buy anything our heart desired.Then when i was 9 years old i moved to Manning,South Carolina.And everything completely changed.My mom has to get 2 jobs which she hates both of them,she is ALWAYS stressed,she gained a lot of weight,and never really has money like she used to have.My sister is 17 now and she became Sneaky,untrustworthy,lazy,ungrateful,she doesn't care about anybody but her self,Ghetto,trashy,stressfull,and there's lots of stuff I could name.She stresses my mom out soooo badly to the point where I want to cry lol.And me im only 13 and I've been stressed out since the minute we moved to this dumb place.I'm getting major acne and I always feel cranky.It seems like everyone in Manning are so 2 faced and cruel.These people go to church and talk so badly about people th minute they get out of church! I am a single mum. For the past 9 years i've faced many challenges on my own. I hate confrontation...but having a child undiagnosed for 12 years with ADHD/Aspergers...well. I've loved and lost many friends. Learnt some harsh lessons. Recently I thought I had come to accept that my ex is totally not going to help me raise these kids. I tried for 7 years to get him involved....but unbeknowns to me he had been telling his side that I would not allow him to see his kids. And now, the kids don't want anything to do with him...(they heard him lying, on an access visit...that I allowed?) And I guess he's happy with things now. He pays his support....but it's a fight. Child Support Agency are involved. But i have to continue to prove he is a high income earner. I've had to drop my career due to my daughters issues. Can only hold down casual work....as I have to be able to drop everything to go deal with my child. While he has his own business....making quite a name for himself....just have to google his name...drives the BMW, owns the Harley Davidson, he has even managed to buy a bride. Eats out every night....wining and dining. While my kids starve. Don't do anything school holidays...even if they are allowed....I can't afford to give them money to go alot of the time. While you might think I am jealous? Not at all. I don't want that lifestyle. I am just fed up with having to scrape up every cent i can find to support my kids. Most of the time i'm settled with where I am. But i don't enjoy being a mother....at all. I feel like i've been robbed somehow, of being able to enjoy my kids growing up. But as they enter teenhood...i am dreading it. So much more demands from kids. I can't even give them the basics. It would only take one email to his office....his loyal staff would probably read his emails before he does....to filter out the genuine buyers from the wasting his time buyers. Can I? Can i?? Cos right now i could just give up. I have worked to get support around me this year...but it's not enough, or the right kind.It's just anger at his total disregard for the well being of his children. I haven't quit my job, just work reduced hours. After 7 years of putting work ahead of kids...i finally burnt out. Now kids before work, and my boss is ok with that! :) The Child Support Agency are tough on him now, often threatening him with debt collectors. I finally proved his economic abuse. I do claim for more...for health related and extracurricular. I have the support of his parents...just ask to ask them to help provide for the kids. Lastly I'm less angry already!! Thanks guys...I may have to start making an effort to have more fun!! I can imagine the humiliation he would feel! But i do know better....he is successful...and best left that way....so he can pay his dues monetarily. he he heeeee more

On a sunny summer day in late June of 1994, 7 year old Marshall Newman was playing outside in his front yard. He was surrounded by two houses; one was vacant, well until this particular day. The other was where a mean and nosy neighbor lived. He lived in the town of Checker which is a suburb of Melody. Marshall was about the right height for his age, skinny and very light blonde, almost white hair. He lived with his mom, Kim and dad, Barry, who were your typical suburban family people. Kim would spend her days watching soap operas, cleaning the house, and socializing with her girlfriends. Barry worked at a warehouse in the city of Melody, but would spend his free time either in the arms of Kim or playing with Marshall. They were not people to cause trouble and they did a fine job raising Marshall. As Marshall was playing in the yard, his mother was insided talking on her cordless phone to her husband who was on his lunch break at work. They were discussing their plans for the evening. Open Question: Educational loan to study abroad - can I apply after reaching United States ?

Hi, I want to pursue MBA at University in USA. The yearly fee for tution+food+house+msc comes to 21 K $, since its a 2 year course the amount is 42 K $. I have liquid cash of approx 47,000 $, however I am sure about spending this money directly on college. I prefer to take an educational loan by mortgaging my house (550 sq ft in good area)and then plan on repaying it after my 2 year education is over by running a business/working(if am not able to run business at all). However, due to problems with my house, I am having difficulty mortgaging the house. Will it be easier, if I came to US showing my liquid cash and then applied for a loan from there ? The man he was speaking to, who was in favor of obliterating human rights in the name of security (which Benjamin Franklin warned against), said that people are against it because it exposes our private parts.
