CONTEMPORARY GOSPEL CHANGING THE BUSINESS OF MUSIC IN NIGERIA

The music business in Nigeria is changing as Evangelists turn from traditional gospel music to mainstream to ensure that the Gospel itself is spread to as many as possible through Hip-Hop.

One of the acts involved in this new wave of Gospel is the Rooftop MC's, which consist of two young men called Kunie Adeyoola (Soulsnatcha) and Olaitan Hughes (Sokleva).

Both grew up with spiritual influences that made them gravitate towards the music industry, and they decided that their sound would be Hip-Hop and their lyrics Gospel.

They started performing together in 2000 when they formed a group at the University of Lagos, Akoka, called G-Force. Initially the group had six members, but four of the six left and the group disbanded. more

EpiCept gets positive opinion from EMEA for Ceplene's marketing

EpiCept said it has to perform two post-approval clinical studies as part of the marketing authorization granted under Exceptional Circumstances.

Of the two clinical studies, one would study the clinical pharmacology of the drug by assessing certain biomarkers in AML patients in first remission. The second will evaluate the effect of Ceplene/IL-2 on the development of minimal residual disease in the same patient population.

Jack Talley, president and chief executive officer of EpiCept, said, "We are evaluating all of our strategic options for the marketing of Ceplene, and will continue to work towards realizing the drug's potential to fulfill an important unmet medical need for AML patients in Europe."

My husband doesn't tell me anything about his finances. As far as he is concerned it is his business and nothing to do with me. However, when it comes to my finances he wants to know everything. I am on maternity leave and will go back on a part time basis. I normally pay all the bills and he covers the rent. We share a car which he always refers to as 'his car', he has taken my name off the insurance because he cant afford it and i hardly drive it. I hardly drive it because he hogs it. According to Pwinsider.com, a new wrestling promotion is starting up out of Florida. The promotion, which has quietly been putting together a business plan, is said to have major financial backing. The new promotion is already signing wrestlers up, and along with the contracts, are having them sign confidentiality agreements. There is no name known for the promotion at this time, but it is known that they will not actively do anything until the fall. A full promotional launch is expected at the beginning of 2011, As of this time, there is no information of TV deals or TV tapings. Businessman Peter Karoftis is said to be the main backer for the promotion. Karoftis previously worked with Sterling Equities, which is a New York-based investment firm that owns The New York Mets organization, the SNY cable network, and several real estate and investment companies. Karoftis, along with Florida independent wrestler Sean Davis are said to be the core of the company right now. Also working with the company are Kevin Kleinrock (Viva La Lucha, Wrestling Society X), Cody Michaels (WSX, XPW) and Mister Saint Laurent (longtime Florida promoter). Kleinrock will be working production, while it is expected that Laurent will work on the creative end. Laurent has previously promoted the "I Believe In Wrestling" company, and there may be a crossover between the new company and the "I Believe In Wrestling" talent and wrestling school. Open Question: I deperately need some help with my 4 year old indoor cat....?

Let me give you a little background first: Her name is Abbey. She is a 4 year old spayed, indoor only, grey tiger cat. I brought her home when I found her at only a few weeks old in a warehouse at the building supply store I worked at. Because of the danger she was in and the cold weather I took her in. She has always been very afraid of almost everything, but does like our other cat and our 11 year old Black lab. About 8 months ago we adopted a Black Lab puppy for our daughter and since then Abbey has been even more scared than normal. I went through all the proper steps to introduce her to the new puppy, but it has been 8 months and she is still terrified of him. The past couple weeks she has stopped using her litter box and has taken to doing her business on my kitchen counter top {gross!}. The only thing I can guess is because of the puppy. Is there anything I can do at this point to calm her down so that she is not afraid of the puppy? Should I try to re-home her to a home with no other cats and dogs?Please help. I love her so much, but all she does is hide in my kitchen cupboards all day long and I feel really bad for her.Some of you have suggested that our puppy is out of control. I did not mean to give you the impression that there is anything wrong with the puppies behavior. He IS crate trained and listens very well. He loves Abbey and would never hurt her, but besides all of that she is still very scared of him as well as everything else. I think that I may try a cat calming collar on her and see if that helps. Open Question: I am planning to rent a home but the owner wants me to make a deposit before sending the keys!!?

OK, so I have probably the worst dilemma ever. I have recently home a home for rent on craigslist and after finding much interest in it, I had decided to contact the provided e-mail. The owner had provided me a story of having to move to West Africa for a petroleum business and that it would be difficult to do business physically. He also had said his family does not want to sell the house because they want to keep it if they ever do run into financial issues. More so, he had provided a small application form via e-mail and asked for name, occupation, blah blah blah, everything but financial-related things like my credits, bank account, etc.- leading me to believe maybe it is not a scam. So we had agreed, and he had said that I should deposit $500 and he will send the keys and it should arrive 48 hours via courier service. Then after that, I pay first month's rent after receiving the keys. I'm VERY skeptical because the house seems to value SO much more than what has been offer. Secondly, there is no agent/middleman for what reason? If they own such a nice house, they most certainly can hire a professional to deal with situations like these. I visited the provided address, and the pictures do match, but the house has been put on the market two months ago. Alright, so I know, it sounds SO SO SO unbelievable. Most likely, it's a scam. Is there anyway to verify, though? I've contacted the listed agent for the home but she is unavailable due to the weekend. What would you do if you were in my position? I have been in a relationship with a guy for 11 months which was really deep. We know each other since school but we never used to talk to each other at that time. I am a 23 years old shy and conservative girl. After 6 years, he messaged me on facebook and thats how we started knowing each other. One day he insisted to meet me, so I meet him with my friends at my college. I just got to know from my mum that his mum gave a proposal to me, on the night before meeting him. I was shocked and wanted to tell him not to meet me but it was too late. Instead, I told my friends. After few days, I told him that I can't meet him anymore because of such event. He said that he doesn't know about it and apolozied for what his mum has done. I said still I can't and avoided his call. One day, he called me and said that nothing will change between us even if we talk or don't (ie friendship). After few days of meeting and chatting, he declared and sweared in the name of God and his mother that he loves me and can't live without me. After rejecting several times his offer to become his gf before getting married to him, one day he cried a lot and begged me not to leave him. He said how his family struggle to come to the state they are in now and so on. He said if I leave him he will sad forever and will never talk to me. I told him that I don't wanted to lose his friendship but I still used to talk to him whenever he called me. Slowly and slowly I felt some feelings for him and went out with him as he promised not to leave in the name of God and his mother. One day, he asked me to show him my new house. After showing him my new house, he pulled me and was trying to open my clothes. When I pushed him and was trying to run away from him, he was pulling me. Wherever I was going, he was blocking my way, pulled me forcefully and pushed me onto the bed. I was crying and saying to stop but he didn't. We finally had sex. After that I bled. On his way home, he called me up and said " You are so innocent...anyone can use you!". Since then I was shocked, afraid and was crying a lot. After the event, he stopped calling me like he used to do and whenever I used to call him and ask why, he used tell me that he was busy. He didn't even ask me once how was I feeling? After all it was my first sex which he knows it very well. After few months, he used to call me every wednesday to ask me to meet him on thursday. Everytime before meeting him, he used to promise me that he won't have sex with me but whenever we used to meet he always does even if I don't want to. If I don't want to, he either used to be sad and keep quiet or say" I have the right!". Recently, I found out that he is getting married with someone else. When I called him, he said that his parents are not ready to listen to him. If he says about me, they will die because it seems that his mum hates my mum as she got to know that my parents told something bad his parents which he says he got it from 3 sources. I completely denied it because I know that my parents will never do so. I told him "First of all, my father stays mostly in our country to take care of his business and comes here whenever he has some work. As for my mum, whatever she knows about you and your family are from the mutual aunties and she is not a person who will say bad about others. Infact we don't like people who backbites about others. How can they do such thing?! That impossible!" He shouted and said "Do you want me to prove?!" then when I asked him to prove he said that I know everything. I asked him "if I know everything, then why should I ask you?! and I will even know you other 2 sources also which you can't name now!" We had a huge arguement on it. He even said that I was playing with him and didn't love him at all. I was really shocked and depressed. He even said that he can't lose such opportunity because the girl who he is getting married to is an intellectual and good in studies. I couldn't believe his words! I was so depressed and sick that I consulted a physician and she said that I am under acute depression and anxiety. I couldn't even tell her why because my mum was infront.Finally, on his wedding day, I cried and told my dad everything (except for the illicit stuff). He became shocked and depressed. (This happened not to long ago......but this teacher seriously has somthing wrong with him and I have no clue why he's still teaching.....I cant do a background check myself but I really need some help on whats behind this man. I know that the schools are suppose to do this, but i'm beginning to think my school is neglecting to do so. I reported this teacher and so have many others students. He'd got me alone again one day and told me somthing that put every bad feeling in place, he said to me "I'm not suppose to have close relationships with students, but your making it really hard".He'd also found ways to make me reveal personal things like if i had a boy friend etc. He's always nagging me about things like "I saw you talking to that boy" "You like him" annoying stuff like that which are none of his business. People seem to think hes just nice. (Hes a christian has a family and goes to church. I decided to report this teacher so I did. But first me and my sister collected some info on what the girls at school thought of this teacher and we found that they actualy were very creeped out by him to. One girl had said the teacher told her if she was 30 years younger he would date her. I was shocked! So I decided to take some kids instead of my own self to report his actions to the counciler. Luckly that day my teacher was gone so I could easyly get out of my class without a hassel. So we told her what was up and she was very serious about it and said if it was ok that we talk to the principal, us kids agreed. So the princilpal intarigated only me and my sister out of two others who had came, and talked to us individualy. He sounded serious as well and said he would talk to us the next day, but he didn't. But days after, I began to notice the teacher talk less to the girls and me. But then after i became more calm he suddenly when i was partially sitting alone he came up to me pressing his hand against my shoulder and said very sinister like, that "I was ignoring him" right then my instincts of panic came back and it almost felt unreal. I almost felt he knew i was the one who reported him.....but the principal had said he wouldnt reveal names hmmmm. They always made sure to have children the same age. Finally, the families decide they want to join. Joe is the same age as snobby Margaret (Maggie) and their families are arranging their marriage even though they are only 17. Joe talks to his father about it and tells him he doesn't ever want to get married and that they can't force him. His father tells him to be open to the idea, and makes him feel guilty by saying that everyone is counting on him to marry Margaret so their families can merge and gain property, start businesses and what not. On their first date, Maggie convinces Joe to go to a psychic with her. He grudgingly decides to go just for the hell of it. The psychic tells him that he is going to marry Margaret, have 3 kids, become a stock broker and end up in a divorce. I am tired... I feel completely beaten down by my wife's accusations, and am ready to throw in the towel and leave. yesterday a man named Robert went to our house to sell my parents some insurance. When I went out of my bedroom to meet him I was wearing my cross necklace. Since Yahoo moving from it's "Yellow Pages" to "Yahoo Local" . . I find it increasingly difficult to locate business via this vehicle. In other words . . If I type in Auto Parts in the window along with the city . . I get almost no representation from that category, but I get all kinds of unrelated businesses to sift through. It's to the point where I must know the very business name I'm looking for, type it in my browser and go on their website or pick it up through a different party review board. Why did Yahoo move away from the Yellow Page service? Yahoo Local is really not a particularly good service, especially when you can't find what you're looking for, and also because Yahoo has permitted unbridled spam on the User's Review boards. I'm going to be an entering college freshman next month. I'm taking basic courses for two years at a community college. Classes I'm taking are microcomputer applications [for computer science credit], fundamentals of criminal law [just because it interests me], freshman english, U.S. government, and class voice [I am into singing]. The thing that gets me... that bugs the crap out of me is to be honest, I don't know what I want to do in life, yet--where I wanna go... I just don't know. I'm worrying so much already because I feel like the future will just come and hit me just like that, and I won't have a clue what to do. Blah it could just be me worrying over nothing, will I find out soon enough what I'd really want to do in life? I am probably one of the most indecisive persons in the world. I have so many interests! Forensics, philosophy, culinary arts, fashion, singing, acting, dance, social satire, the paranormal, business [international], and film making, to name the big ones. I have a lot of interest in sports, mostly tennis and swimming though. I've taken so many career quizzes and assessments, from the ASVAB to careercruising.com to so many other small online quizzes and counseling meetings and so much more. I've done a lot of things I thought I'd be interested in, but turned up short, not really liking them as much in the end, such as working on the school newspaper staff [my senior year of high school], I just didn't feel satisfied with whatever I did in there, everything I typed, everybody I interviewed, I just didn't find it as exciting as I imagined. Even psychology, I took ap psych my junior year, it was interesting but it wasn't something I'd like to really get involved with. The problem though is that I don't really have experience in ANY of the things I'm interested in, such as fashion design, or singing, or dancing, or acting... But my assessments and quizzes always say that those would be perfectly fit for me. I feel like maybe I am whining? I should get up onto my feet and chase after what I want, right? But my problem is I'm still too indecisive... and completely discouraged. I mean there are millions of people who I'm sure want the same thing. I imagine being a singer or actor, or fashion designer as only fame; but aren't there performers out there who do it simply for the love? I don't know what I want, the fame, or the satisfaction of doing whatever it is I might end up doing, not caring a bit about money... Blah. I'm just at a loss for words right now. I never had any interest or time for social networking sites until I found out that I can use them to market my small business. A friend set up a Facebook page under my name (not my business name) a couple of years ago, but I never used it. In the last week I set up a Twitter account in my business name (I don't want to give out my personal or business name here - these are general questions so it's not necessary to check them out to answer) and started posting classified ads on Oodle which I then published to Facebook and Twitter. I was happy with the results until . . . I started getting requests from friends and acquaintances to be my "friends on Facebook. I knew that the more "friends" you have, the more the word gets about your business and the more validation and importance you have on Facebook. I accepted most of the friend requests and sent out several of my own to family members and friends. Unfortunately, I "friended" a long-time friend who is retired, has a large bank account, and has a lot of time to post multiple long entries, photographs and videos on his Facebook page regarding his travels, political interests, and miscellaneous random thoughts. My Facebook page is now overrun with his entries and my ads are getting lost among them. Also, most of the family members I friended are in their 20's to mid-30's and are writing cute entries on their pages with the latest slang expressions describing music fests, job searches, wishes and hopes, etc. Needless to say, my page doesn't look very professional now. I had no idea that entries my "friends" made on their own pages would show up on my page. "Defriending" these people is not an option. I think I have figured out a fix. I can set up another page under my Facebook account in my business name; I want to do this correctly, so here are my questions: 1. A competitor has a facebook page under his own name and it has just his personal interests, activities, education, etc., -- he doesn't make any entries. He has 13 friends and no posts are showing up from their Facebook pages. I'm thinking the reason for this is that he specified that his Facebook page is a business page. I know a different set of rules applies to business pages. Or maybe other people's Facebook entries don't show up until you start making your own entries. What I want is a page that showcases my business and my classified ads and allows me to have "friends," but does not show posts that "friends" write on their Facebook pages. It may not be possible, but I would also like to deactivate the "Comments" feature that is under each ad to prevent my site from being "vandalized" by jerks or unhappy clients (unfortunately, sometimes I do business with someone who has unreasonable expectations -- most of my clients are very happy and become repeat customers) posting negative comments about the products I sell. Voting Question: Bankruptcy can evict someone? Please Help!?

A few years back my dad and his business partner purchased several investment properties. Now due to the economy, they are both upside down in all the mortgages. At that time, my dad decided to rent his primary residence out and live in one of their investment properties. Now come to find out that the investment property that he's living in also has his business partners name on the title. His business partner is in serious trouble and had to file bankruptcy a month ago. I guess the IRS (or the proper party) told him that they would be seizing any and all assets. Because the investment property my father lives in is paid for (free and clear) the government would be seizing it. Now my dad is paranoid and thinking someone is going to come knock on his door and tell him to pack everything up and leave immediately. Is this the protocol? I would assume that there would be some kind of process that would take place. In particular something to protect a renter (or person living there) from being thrown out on the streets.
