African Experiential Marketing Summit
The objective of the summit is to provide marketers and advertising agencies with a better understanding of marketing through experiences, rather than relying solely on the more traditional mediums in their marketing campaigns. It aims to offer insights and best practices through experiences of respected marketers and marketing campaigns, illustrating how carefully crafted experiential strategies can and have been successfully implemented.
This year's agenda features a mix of international and local industry leaders, including:
Bernd Schmitt - author of Experiential Marketing and Customer Experience Management, and CEO of the Ex Group.
Liz Bigham - director of Brand Marketing at Jack Morton, an experiential agency that has developed and executed many B-to-C and B-to-B events, as well as the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. more
A balance between supply and demand is essential to your company's
Think of demand as sales and marketing. It's your sales and marketing department's job to create demand by making sure your customers know and buy what your business has to offer. Meanwhile, supply is represented by manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, aka the supply chain. It's your supply chain's job to be prepared to fulfill the demand created by the sales side.

In my businesses, I divide my responsibilities between supply and demand. As a business grows, I appoint one person to be solely in charge of demand and another person solely supply. This reduces a lot of the finger-pointing, buck-passing and shoulder shrugging that happens when supply and demand aren't in harmony. If there's too much supply (inventory) and not enough demand (sales), both sides come to the table to discuss it. more
FirstGroup appoints new marketing agency
Transport giant FirstGroup has announced that Lee Creative, which offers direct marketing services, has been appointed as one of its marketing agency clients. Lee Creative has been working with First since the transport firm bought Hull Trains in 2005, liaising with its internal marketing team to design various campaigns. Barry Lee, managing director of Lee Creative, said the company was "delighted" to have been appointed by FirstGroup, which carries 2.5 billion passengers a year. "Most marketing agencies would love to work with FirstGroup, but there are only a limited number of agencies appointed to the official roster, and we are very proud to be one of them," Mr Lee remarked. The agreement will provide the East Yorkshire company with an opportunity to "showcase" the work it has completed with Hull Trains, he added. more
Sleeve holds aces
The problem, says Richard Kitchen, T Freemantle head of sales and marketing, was that pizza is a variable product: different toppings and bases result in different dimensions. Explaining how the issue was overcome, Kitchen says: "Our wraparound sleever wraps the narrow-band sleeve to the pizza. Then we have two fingers at the end of the machine that pull the two ends of the sleeve together before the glue is compressed. In effect, it’s a pack-squaring facility for irregular products." The units installed by T Freemantle are the first in the UK to apply a sleeve to pizzas, and have cut material use by 75%.But the drive to reduce material use doesn’t stop at switching from cartons to sleeves. Kitchen says retailer pressure is also pushing existing users of sleeves to minimise material usage.Short-sleeve formatsT Freemantle has responded to this challenge with a patent-pending sleeving concept that enables a 25% reduction in materials use in existing ready meal sleeve applications. more
SEM Expert Launches Online Marketing Training Services Designed
This is why Brad Geddes, well-known search engine marketing expert, has launched bg Theory, a company focused on in-house education and training for everything internet marketing.
Search engine marketing has become a staple of most companies marketing budgets, but is still largely a misunderstood advertising medium. There is a severe lack of experienced marketers in the online arena; all the way from entry level staff to the executive level of management. This has caused unfavorable scenarios for most marketing departments, as you often find experienced functional staff being led by management unfamiliar with online marketing, or you find an experienced manager who cannot find enough experienced entry-level people to hire. You also find companies who have outsourced all or most of their interactive endeavors, and have such a limited understanding of the online market they cannot truly evaluate an agency's performance. more

But old people? On disability? Debts decades old?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm young. Owe no one, leastwise student loans. I say fk credit cards. If you cannot afford to pay when you purchase, don't. Stay away from any government benefits. The rug can be pulled at any time. But then maybe some congress members or senators will have to pay back some of their old debts. Maybe before they became part of government...from years ago. (Obama, why are you allowing punishment of old people? and the disabled? Is Obama who I thought he was? Is he a clone of bush? what happened to my great hope with this man) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Defaulted Loans May Haunt Seniors by Ellen E. Schultz Monday, March 8, 2010 A little–noticed law could soon result in smaller Social Security checks for hundreds of thousands of the elderly and disabled who owe the U.S. money from defaulted loans and other debts more than a decade old.Social Security benefits are off–limits to creditors, such as credit–card companies and banks. But the U.S. can collect debts to federal agencies by "offsetting," or withholding Social Security and disability payments. The Treasury currently withholds benefits of 3.1 million Social Security recipients to recover defaulted student–, farm– and small–business loans, unpaid income taxes, amounts veterans owe for health care, and other debts to the government. Previously, the U.S. hasn't been able to withhold Social Security payments to recover most debts delinquent for more than ten years. But a provision in the 2008 Farm Bill lifted the ten–year statute of limitations on the government's ability to withhold Social Security benefits in collecting debts other than student loans—for which the statute of limitations was lifted in 1997—and income taxes, where the limit remains 10 years.oh no oh no!!! I am not blaming Obama for the Bill... it rests with Bush. However, Obama seems unknowledgeable in some respects. Like he only finds out about important matters --- after the fact. I see him rallying for health care..it's importnat and affects many many seniors..and then I see this article...yes,, one should pay their debts, if they are able to. But not if circumstances prevent such payback. After all the seniors did their share also. They worked hard and paid taxes...the biggest friggn debt-dodgers are big business and the Maddox's of the world..and then some. So don't get me wrong. Like I said, I am young I'm also educated. Well learned. I make comparisons. If Obama was such a gret choice, then let him prove it. He - as well as many of you - will be old one day, needing diapers and straws, and maybe the few dollars they take out of your retirement or disability benefits, because you were unable to pay some government loan. Govt is and has always cheated u ~~~and i am tired of this "oh I paid back my student loan" like you accomplished some great deed. Maybe your loan was only 2500.00 sillybutt. Others have loans in the tens of thousands. So govt says, "well come back and work for us for some paltry yearly salary and we MIGHT forgive your debt." Govt traps you! but not me! Get over youself. Your loan was small. Govt forgives murderers and embezzlers and defrauders and other REAL criminals. So again, get over youirslef! and open yhour eyes. No one is more blind than those with 20/20 vision, but who see with their eyes wide shut! moreResolved Question: I am considering filing for bankruptsy...?
She defaulted on her student loan and a tax offset is scheduled. Any way for me to keep my share of the tax return? I make the vast majority of our household income (she only made 11k at her part time job and started a small business that lost money this year) and at least 85% of the return is from my income. I am trying to put together an plan of action for purchasing a local business. It is a hotel, and I live in a smaller town with only five total hotels. With the purchase of this business I would also like to get green certification over a period of the next 5 years, and put a pool in, as no other hotel in town has one. The hotel itself costs $300,000 and I would like to know, how do I go about getting a loan for this amount? I have ample experience in many roles including relief manager, night auditor, and for a short time housekeeping. Any advice? moreResolved Question: At what point in time will China foreclose on the United States?
China holds enough of our debt that the US does not have enough money to pay off what we owe them. Just as many home owners have had to declare bankruptcy our country would be in the same position; that is, the money the government 'earns' (our tax dollar) would not be enough to me its citizens day-to-day expenses much less pay off China. Our dollar would be worthless on the world market. Every country that we owe money to would want their money also. We won't have anything worth anything to import needed goods for us. The countrys' credit would be nil, no country would loan us money just as our banks at the present time aren't lending more to home buyers and small businesses. Serious replys would be appreciated. moreVoting Question: Is there a type of loan which has high interest, and will be given to someone with no credit or capital.?
Bear with me, this is a bit lengthy. I am female, nearly 40 with family, especially 76 year old father coaxing me to pursue a college degree to land "secure employment" with benefits. Let me shed a little light with regards to my particular situation. I reluctantly graduated high school in '88 *wishing I'd repeated that year citing personal reasons* and, with the persistence of both my parents, began that fall in community college, randomly choosing a major to 1) get my parents off of my back and 2) declare a major just for the sake of declaring a major. My grandfather put away money since the time I was a baby in the stock market for my college, but I used it to fulfill transportation, living expenses and a trade school instead *I had always wanted to be a barber -- since the age of five* This, not surprisingly, was an unacceptable aspiration and, several years later, continued to be coaxed to finish a four-year-degree. This time, not only by my grandfather, but also my father and my younger brother and his wife. To make an insanely long story short, I spent those 20+ years traveling, barbering *for 15 years total*, working in various administrative positions in various industries and had a blast, along the way, doing so. There's one drawback: I have an extremely tiny retirement *my fault*, no benefits other than health insurance through my ex *not that I consider THAT a benefit -- more so a necessity* and some of the best income produced of any field I worked in in the barbering industry, $6000/mo, to be exact. Not too shabby. Still, the barber *out of work, currently* that I am, and the part-time entrepreneur *in another field* that I've become, my family still hounds me about that four-year college degree. Now, I am no dummy. I can do math *citing reasons to be diswayed by bloated interest rates for student loans* and I know my personality. The biggest problem with regards to attending college or, shall I say, the biggest problemS with regards to attending college right now *for my personal situation* are the following: -- I cannot sit still through classes, much less sit still through four full years, more if I need to go part time. -- There's not one major in college that I care to pursue. Not ONE. -- Not that I have anything against them, nor do I realize that all fall within this category, but I don't want a white collar position. No offense to white collar workers. My whole family is white collar. I am the only one who isn't. -- I can do math. I am not stupid. I know what I would need to repay for student loans after private, public or community colleges. I shudder with the thought of even having a debt of $5000. I don't have credit card debt. I don't own a credit card *my wisdom*. I have marginal medical debt *thank you, knee surgeries and asthma issues!*, but that only totals an amount in the ball park of $2000 -- manageable, comparitively speaking. I don't wish to repay loans once I hit the age when I begin drawing social security. I don't qualify for a grant -- still *legally* married, and I don't qualify for academic scholarships, grades aren't good enough, thanks to my high course withdrawal rate and F's for failing to withdraw courses once I unofficially dropped them back in the late 80's. -- I want to own a business when the opportunity arises and don't see it as a possibility by taking out student loans. There's no such thing as good debt/bad debt. It's ALL debt and I'd rather be debt free once the time permits to apply for a small business loan. So, there you have it. My life in a fairly sizeable nutshell. Question is this: How do I effectively explain to my family, once and for all, that I am NOT college-bound and that I have other, more important, more attractive aspirations? Appreciated are the intelligent and inobtuse replies. Thanks. moreResolved Question: Question about college for a 40 year old female...?
If you had any stock in CIT, (Commercial Investmant Trust), you LOST it all. CIT filed bankruptcy in Nov. 2009. Stock within that company became null and void ... GONE! Stocks continued trading under the name, but new stocks were brought in as replacements. I find this all interesting because CIT really helped mainstreet America by keeping the revolving door of credit to all the mid-sized businesses in America ... including popular national chains where we all shop all the time! WHY, I wonder, would Obama choose NOT to bail them out, when he bailed the likes of the fraudulent banks out? Could it be one more eye opener to the FACT that he is purposely trying to take down America? Wake up, folks, we have a storm brewing, and a big fight to Win with a country to save!!! Why do we need the small business association?
I thought the SBA was supposed to support and help new and small businesses by filling the gap that regular commercial banks don't want to risk because they are backed by the government. Trying to start a business without perfect credit in the U.S is a joke. I won't get approved from the bank so I call the SBA and I'm told to go to my bank and ask them for a SBA guaranteed loan. Whuptie duh, my bank is going to look at my credit and because I don't have over a 700 and a large sum of money for down payment, I'm screwed. Other than the obvious answer of myself to get a good paying job ( which would be answer to prayer ) any suggestions of any organizations that would be willing to help us to pay off my wife's realative for her Nursing School Loan ? We have already received some grants ( $4,000 ) which we paid directly towards her tuition. We are not asking for a hand-out - but rather a hand - up - We don't believe in Debt and want to get out of debt as soon as possible Any sensible suggestions / ideas ( we don't want those stupid home-based business ideas or those make a quick buck schemes ) So far we are hanging in there, but honestly it's really hard when it's been going on for over 11 months straight now. moreVoting Question: how can i get a small business loan?
i wanna start a small business but i need about 20 grand, how can i get a loan and what are the requirements i have search places but i always end up in the same place tha i need great credit my credit is low. thanks for the answers. moreResolved Question: Serious answers only Please....?
My bf and I own a business together, so everything earned, we both earn. The problem I am having is that his daughter is always wanting or needing to borrow money and when she borrows it's always 3 or 4 hundred. I don't mind giving it to her, since we do pretty well, but she never even offers to pay it back. I have a daughter as well, she is a single mom, gets no child support, and manages to pay her bills on her own. Occasionally she will ask for a small loan, and I give it to her, the difference is, she always pays me back and exactly when she says she will. Now his adopted son calls and asks for $1,000.00 so him and his wife can come down to visit. My bf says yes and gives him the credit card number to purchase the airline tickets. I know right now that we together will be paying that credit card bill, and I know that we will never see that thousand again. So, honestly what would you do in this situation? I know they are his kids, but it's half my money, I help earn it, and work very hard to just keep giving it away. Where is the responsibility? Should I put a stop to it, or demand it be paid back before they ask for more?I also have 4 sons, none of which ever borrow money, and if they did, sure I would give them a loan, but I would expect them to repay me. I wouldn't just give it to them. moreResolved Question: getting a feel for time?
Your Question getting a feel for time? I am in a difficualt situation where my buisness has dropped by 70% in the past 18 months - followed the recession perfectly - I have had to lay off my entire staff but two remaining and we are trying to sell our building inorder to pay our corporate debts - of hwich I have 135K some on credit cards some on various loans. all are personall guaranteed. i listed the building 5 months ago and we just atarted to get some interest as the market is starting to warm up here in central texas. I am pretty sure it will sell by summer, I hope. if we can sell it, then all our debts are paid and I can either resume business in a much smaller fshion or close it down and start anew in a new career that is less subject to economic fluctuations. my question is; we stopped making payments on our AMEX card about 5 months ago because we cant make the $3330 a month payment. there is a balance of $37K. does anyone have a feel for how quickly or what the timeline is for them to actually file suit locally? is there any strategy I can employ to get some more time? I am just trying to buy time until the building sells, so I can pay them and everyone else. If they file a suit against me, I dont see any option but to protect myself by filing bankruptcy. moreVoting Question: She "stole" my identity, why do I feel bad for her?
My ex boyfriend's mother used my name and social security number to open several accounts without my permission or knowledge in 2006. As of 2/11/10, I am still fighting with one of the companies to clear my name. This is the most frustrating thing I've ever gone through in my life. Every time I check my credit, get denied credit, turned down for a job, denied an apartment, I have to relive this nightmare. I want to buy a house but I have to wait to rebuild my credit from her damage so I can get a decent loan/rate. I want to change my name and start a business but I have to clean up this mess first. My life is on hold because of her. People say I should sue her in small claims court for emotional distress because I suffer from depression. Using the internet I have located her current address and phone number, will it help? Do I contact the police and give them her info? I feel as if I'm a little crazy because I don't want to turn her in to the police. I used to live with her and looked up to her, she was like a second mom to me. I even called her mom. It really hurts to see the damage she has done to my life, so why do I feel bad for her? She is in her 50's with like 11 kids - all of whom would of course call me the bad guy for "snitching". I don't want her to go to jail but I feel she owes me. I can't get these creditors off my back, my credit is ruined and I barely eat or sleep. What should I do? Do I give her info to the officer who took the police report? Should I try to sue for emotional distress or something like that? Shouldn't I be compensated for 3 years of long distance calls, printing, copying, faxing and mailing certified documents to 4 different companies to dispute these accounts, all of which haven't been resolved yet to this date? Please help with genuine advice. This is a serious matter for me. I am not to blame and I'm not sue-happy. I just want this whole thing to go away. moreResolved Question: how do you get a small business loan with bad credit?
the loan amount would pay for a small building that id use as a coffee shop. the building is about 20 000 asking price. id then b paying 600 mo for the location in the parking lot of a big store. i have 3 vehicles under my company name and the book on the 3 is roughly 20 000. i figured that may help as far as collateral.i just did my taxes for my business for the first time (first year of business 2009). I profitted about 15 000 last year and will make more this year since i used a good deal of money for equipment. my credit score is like 450 and my total debt is around 5 000 which io will pay off this year. but the opportunity for this building wont last in my opinion and i could have my girlfriend run it while i conduct my construction business so we would have a better combined income. any insight is appreciated...so basically the building would serve as collateral too i believe moreResolved Question: What is the best bank to get a small loan from for someone with bad credit?
I have bad credit and am looking for a bank that can offer a loan. The loan amount is for about $15,000. I am looking to invest in jointly buying an established business. I live in the east bay area. moreResolved Question: When the US economy is going to be back up?
Seems like a lot of the economic mess the USA has found it self in, could have been prevented. Some of the terms like toxic loans, "sub prime mortgatge crisis", or credit problems, could be easily controlled. To summarize, the economic growth depends on: 1. Infrastructure, transportation, and other resources(which USA has plentiful of) 2. Growth of small and private businesses are the veins of US economy and really help local economy and in return national economy But any sane minded people with good will and intention will see USA sometimes go through crisis as a result of which I called, "artificial problems". As our president says, just like US people bail out big banks in time of crisis, they also have the responsibility to see the well being of people, instead of pushing them to deep unemployment and other problems! So my question is could USA have prevented to come to this crisis? moreResolved Question: What is it called, politically speaking, when someone gives you something you can't use?
I was wondering about Obama's tax credit and 30 billion in loans for small business. I don't see where people are going to just say, "Oh! Let's hire people we can't afford to pay." It's like throwing an inflatable life preserver with a hole in it to a drowning person while at the same time pushing them away from the boat with your paddle.unless you are just trying to temporarily inflate "jobs created" moreResolved Question: My Husband & I Filed Jointly for 2009 and A Tax Refund Offset is set for me - how much can they take?
This is a complex tax question so please do not answer on what you do not know for sure. We filed jointly, the 1040. I did not know that my student loans had been submitted for a tax refund offset until after i got the tax refund offset message in the irs.gov's where's my refund? section. I had been trying to work out a repayment plan with them which was difficult without me working. Apparently, they had submitted it sometime in the summer of last year, and i dont believe i received a letter notifying me of a potential offset. Here is the situation.I was pregnant for 9 months of last year and no one would hire me to work. So I had no income to report. My husband had income to report. WE qualified for the Earned Income Credit and Child Tax Credit. Our refund amount came out to $3,242. My student loan debt is $4068. We did not file the Form 8379 with it as we had no clue. It is to my understanding that they are only entitled to what part was "mine" which is minimal. My question is will they take the entire refund and only give the portion back to us that is his after we file Form 8379? Or is it possible that it was already calculated to give us his portion especially since I did not have any income. The deposit was supposed to be in the account by Feb 1st for us (our bank deposits within one business day unlike other banks) so I guess I will know for sure then. But I am having a small heart attack right now as we really needed this money to get back on our feet and back to work. I have refused helped from TANF because I am too proud for it but I am afraid I will be reduced to it to even think of getting back on my feet when that money would have made it so easy. My husband and I are college educated, our truck is broken down and we have sold everything we have of value. I dont even own a computer anymore. Sorry about the vent, I am just so sick of the way this country is going downhill and honest people are left out in the cold. Thank you in advance.No, you can file the 8379 after the fact - it just takes supposedly 8-11 weeks.We live in Virginia - I am not sure if that is a community property state or not. I really regret adding myself to the return now but i honestly thought that it was not considered in default since I had been working with them. moreResolved Question: What is a line of Credit?
i recently had to quit a full time job because my boss wanted to have a relationship with me. i thought about staying, but it is a small business with just myself and him...i felt uncomfortable being around him and had too leave. my credit is poor due to stupid mistakes i made when i was younger, but i worked out a plan with my bank and have been making consistent payments for the past 8 months. I need an education in order to get a good job. the only experience i have currently is in the food and beverage business and have had no luck finding another job (though i will not stop looking). here is what i would like to do: -get a loan of $8000 to cover the cost of school, supplies and a percentage of my monthly expenses (for the next 5-6 months) -get a part-time job to cover the rest of my monthly expenses -enroll in Career Step's Medical Transcription program and work on it full time for the next 5-6 months -after completing the program, i will start paying back the loan *i have also made a spreadsheet so i know what i need to pay, and how much i can pay each month for the next few years. it will take me some time to pay off what i owe and i have no problem with that. i want and need an education and i have been researching becoming an MT for quite some time...this is the right career for me. Do you think my bank will ok me for the loan? Is there anyone else that will ok me for the loan? i understand interest rates will be insane, but i believe it will all pay off for me in the future. thanks in advance for your help and advice. moreResolved Question: What can I do with credit limit decrease?
I don't know what to do now. I am a small business owner and have or had a good credit. Banks were dying to lend me money. The economy were good back then and my business was doing pretty good. So, I got offers from my business and personal credit cards with 0 interest rates. I admit I took out some loans and line of credit to hire employees and expand my business but I was good at paying bills on time. All of the sudden, I am not a good risk anymore. First bank of america decreased my credit limit to the balance owed then other banks followed. Now, I look like I max out on my credit cards and business line of credit and worse the banks use that as a reason to hike up my interest rate from 9% to 24.99. This is like a vicious cycle. I didn't max out my cards and before my limit were decreased I had plenty of cushion. This is sick. Banks lower my limit to make me look like I maxed out on my loans and they use this reason to hike up my interest rates. I have to let go 3 employees just to pay the banks. Now, the future looks pretty doom for my business and family. moreResolved Question: How Easy is it to get a Business start up loan?
I am looking to start my own small business. The business will be curchasing computer equipment and reselling parts and refurbished products. I have 3+ years experience, and about $20K of my own money, and good credit. I also own my home, but with the housing market in a slump I may owe more on it than it is worth at the moment. I would need an additional $50K-100K to start up. With the economy the way it is, what are the chances I will get the kind of loan I need to get this business off the ground? moreResolved Question: What personal background information do bank institutions look at when you apply for a small business loan?
I was a Loan officer as you know the industry collapsed now I want to start a business like the dollar store type I got the money but my credit stinks since I lost credit cards an have real late payments on everything is there any place you may know where to get help for small business like a government help or else ? thanks moreResolved Question: Trying to dodge bankruptcy....Can I negotiate payment terms even after the debt has gone to the collection...?
The short story is that after a failed business, my home was lost to foreclosure, several bills mounted and I now have a means to payback debt. The other day I was successful at obtaining an agreement to pay $50 a month on a 5k balance and it is my hope I can manage to do so with all of my debts. The monster in the closet is a 20k equity loan that was secured by my home which has no longer mine. When I approached the office I would typically make my payment to they gave me the number for the collections department and before I could even reach them DCS (collection agency) contacted me. Now I have told them that I would like to begin making payments but with my other debts that I am trying to honor being added on to monthly expenses, the old payment on the equity loan (250/mo) is pretty tough to manage. Is it possible to negotiate with these people? They offered a settlement of 13k on the 20k loan but I dont have that kind of money. I had actually hoped to go through the same company I had the loan with perhaps get it back in good standing in hopes that it would eventually help me to recover my credit status after being rocked by the foreclosure. any thoughts? I want to avoid bankruptcy, heck I think after I get my taxes back it would put me over the Median income for my small family of just my son and I anyway. Not sure what to think about chapter 13 either.Update....Debt consolidation loans are out of the question due to lack of credit score. The debt is not credit card debt though it seems like everyone wants to help people out of credit card trouble. It's utilities, a couple business debts and the dang equity loan. I need a dependable car and have to use the income tax to buy one. If I buy a decent used car I can lose it to bankruptcy, if I go chapter 13 it seems like I have to live how the court tells me to live and would have no money beyond living expense and with a 9 year old child to raise that is impossible. moreResolved Question: Why can't Obama see that he will be hurting businesses with his new banking regulations?
If banks have to keep their assets and liabilities at certain percentages or be fined (or taken over), they will be less likely to lend. Say a business has a $200,000 line of credit that they only use occasionally when working capital is low. Otherwise the balance owed on the line of credit is almost always at zero. However, that $200,000 line of credit will show as a liability on the bank audits. Banks will be much less likely to give lines of credit as opposed to conventional loans, or will give smaller lines. Our bank has significantly cut back lending to businesses and has completely canceled or lowered many business lines of credit because of this. I always hear this administration saying banks need to start lending, but does he realize that government rules are whats holding many banks back?Holy cow Melissa, take a deep breath. These are NEW rules that you just listed. I am talking about the existing rules. Unless you own a business you would have no idea what I am talking about. Obviously you don't so put a sock in it and copy and paste your "cliff notes" somewhere else. You are one hell of a fast keyboarder though. haha moreResolved Question: I have very good credit, but no assets. How can I get small business loan, or other type of financing?
I suppose I could apply for loans...do they have loans for starting a business and how easy would it be (or hard) to recieve a loan when my credit isn't the greatest at the moment? moreResolved Question: where are all the small business help loans?
I started working for my cousin who owns a small business. He didn't want me driving my truck around customers because it was a few years old and dented on one side. So we went to go and see if I could buy one. My credit was bad (divorce etc) and the only way to get a truck was to pay a large some of money down. couldn't do it. My cousin offered to co-sign. I felt like it was a bad idea and said no. He continued to nag, so I did it. Anyway, i've been paying for two years now and have been late once, by just a few days. In today's economy I feel that's Pretty good, since now I'm a small business owner myself. Well now he says he is going to come and take the truck. He also says he has a lawyer and I need to sign a contract provide insurance information and all paperwork for vehicle purchase and loan. I am still willing to keep the truck and am still making payments. We've already provided bank information in the past and have tried to get a loan to take over the truck soley and trade it in. My question is, can he bring the sheriff dept to my house to repossess the truck and do I have to give him all this paperwork he's asking for.More details: all the paperwork we have is the purchase paperwork and it has his name then my name next to his. On some of the paperwork next to his name says buyer and next to mine is co buyer but on other paperwork it has my signature only as buyer. How do I handle or credit payments for a small business loan that only gets credit part of the payment and the rest are for the interest? For example, my loan is $ 20,000 and I make a payment of $ 500.00 from those $500.00 only $250 are credited to my principal and the other $250.00 are for the interests. Since I entered into Quickbooks my loan balance of $20,000.00 when I make the payment it brings the principal amount to $19,500.00 which is wrong and if I only record $250.00 how or where do I record the other $250.00 that I paid for interests? moreVoting Question: Do 100% mortgages still exist after the 'credit crunch' and would i qualify for one?
I am looking to take my first step on the property ladder (hopefully September in 2011) when I'll be almost 20. By this time I should have saved around £20k and could get some help off family for a deposit and co-signing the mortgage but I was wondering whether high leveraged loans (roughly 100%) still existed as I'd want to develop the property to sell on over a time scale of around 6 months and start the process over again. So the questions I was hoping you guys could help me out on are... a) Are their any money lending companies that would be willing to lend me the money for the purpose of developing a property? If no then I guess these are pretty pointless, but assuming the answer to A is yes... b) Does the location of where you want to buy affect a banks willingness to loan you the money? (I'm looking at Cardiff area, so cheaper properties) c) Would I be better off going for a personal mortgage or becoming a small business and getting a mortgage that way?
