Economy, fuel prices could curb summer business
Waller said that while summer business could be good, "it would be a stretch to expect a record-setting summer—anywhere."
"Even though we might not be on pace for a record-breaking summer, if you look at what happened to our community in the six months to a year after 9/11, we were down initially. But our community was at total off less than 10 percent, which was significantly better than I thought we'd do."
Waller said she expects this summer's business to be similar to the months following the 9/11 disaster.

Which one is it? moreResolved Question: College Plan? Good or Bad?
Hello. Thank you for clicking my question. I'm in 7th grade and I'm planning my future in college. I want to go to South Carolina State University and get a degree in Business and Administration for right now.My first question is, Do I have to go to college three times to get a P.h.D? OK,the thing is I plan to get a FULL scholarship and my second question is, Is it possible for me to not get a full scholarship, even if I meet or exceed the standards and why? I went on the website for SC State and I read the standards and they are as listed below: Full or partial scholarships designed to cover tuition, fees, room and board. Qualifications: Rank in the top twenty five percent (25%) of the senior class, SAT score of 1200, or ACT composite score of 27, Outstanding leadership qualities. Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Can they cut off my scholarship over the years and how? I know I can do that. Another thing is that in school, they told me about some Duke TIP scholarship thing where I can take SAT or ACT early and if I do well, colleges can start sending me information and stuff. I also want to live off campus and get my own apartment. I took a guess at all the expenses and bills and I want to know if I'm on point. (These are the maximums I'm willing to pay.) $610 for the rent. $60 for water bill. $60 for light bill. $125 for cell phone bill. $125 for house phone bill. $25 for cable bill. $10 for internet bill. Am I missing anything? I added it up and noticed I needed at least $1,015 for just these. I plan to get two jobs, 1 part-time and 1 full-time. Job #1(full-time): 8 hours * 8 dollars per hour= 64 dollars each day * 7 days= 448 dollars a week 448 dollars a week * 2 paid in a month= 986 dollars a month Job#2(part-time): 4 hours * 7.50 per hour=30 dollars each day * 4 days=120 dollars a week 120 dollars a week * 2 paid in a month= 240 a month . 211 left over - 40 for gas= 171 left over - 50= 121 for shopping Work time(full-time): Mon-Sun. 1pm-9pm Work time(part-time):Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun, 9:30pm-1:30pm School time: Mon-Fri 8am-12pm Am I right or wrong? Now the schoolwork thing is a little confusing. My third question is, How much homework do professors give you and how often do they give it? I plan to work summers and school times for furniture from 14- to the time I'm in college. My fourth question is, what is a good full-time job to look for and a part-time job(IN COLLEGE.)? RANDOM QUESTION: My teacher in 6th grade was always talking about how the government is going to pay for college for us, is this true? I guess that's it, please try to answer all questions. Thank You for reading. moreResolved Question: I am looking for a job that pays at least 24,000 USD annually while in college. Is this possible?
I am currently a Business Administration major at Troy University. As odd as it may seem, I am still not very good a writing resumes. I have neither a suit nor a tie or an iron to keep my not-quite-dressy button down shirts as wrinkle free as possible. I have never been required to where a suit and had no intentions of buying one until my last year of college. Now it seems that I am going to have a hard time finding any job that pays at least 2,000 dollars a month because of my lack of professional attire and resume writing skills. Also, as you will see, my resume is very weak, mostly because I don't have much to put in it. I was never a member of any organizations outside of music and band other than the National Honors Society. Even now, in college, I am no longer a member of the marching band because I cannot be a member, go to school, and hold a full time job. The only thing that I have going for me is that my grades were amazing in high school. I graduated High School with an advanced diploma and a GPA of 3.85. I feel as though I am going to be stuck working as a sales associate at another retail store for the next four years of my life. I know of many companies in town that are hiring assistant manager positions, but, as you will see, I have no supervisory experience. At the moment, as I have said numerous times until now, I feel I have nothing going for me at the moment because, to my understanding, no one cares if you are in college or have a degree in progress. They only care if you actually have your degree ready to hand to them. I would greatly appreciate any advice on how to improve my resume, and possibly even land a job with a decent salary that can grant me with even more experience and more to put on my resume after college. The Obama administration has repealed a rule that would have threatened employers with prosecution unless they fired workers whose Social Security numbers did not match entries in a government database, ending a two-year battle in a San Francisco federal court.Although the Department of Homeland Security formally withdrew the "no-match" rule Wednesday, the administration is supporting another program enabling employers to check workers' names against electronic records that are supposed to screen out illegal immigrants. That program, E-Verify, is voluntary for most employers but mandatory for the 170,000 companies holding federal contracts and for their subcontractors. This week, a House-Senate conference committee voted to extend E-Verify for three years. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is challenging the scope of the program in a Maryland federal court. "E-Verify has many of the same problems as no-match," said Chris Calabrese, legislative attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union, which took part in the San Francisco lawsuit. Although employers are not threatened with prosecution under the program, he said, thousands of workers are in danger of losing their jobs based on "databases that are not terribly accurate." But the Federation for American Immigration Reform, which supports restrictions on immigration, said the government has found that E-Verify is accurate in 99.6 percent of cases. The group criticized the House-Senate conference committee for refusing to make the program permanent. The three-year extension is "further evidence of the Obama administration's and the congressional leadership's effort to raise a smokescreen while it dismantles all effective controls against illegal immigration," the organization said. President George W. Bush's administration proposed the no-match rule in 2007, saying it would add teeth to a 1986 law that prohibited businesses from knowingly employing illegal immigrants. The rule would have given employees three months to clear up any differences between the Social Security numbers they gave to employers and the numbers in the Social Security Administration database. After that, an employer who failed to fire the worker would be subject to civil fines and criminal prosecution. Immigrants' rights advocates, labor unions and the Chamber of Commerce challenged the regulation, saying database discrepancies often reflected clerical errors, name changes and confusion about foreign names. U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer of San Francisco issued a nationwide injunction against the rule in October 2007, before it took effect. He said opponents had raised serious questions about whether the 1986 law authorized the no-match system, and that the government had failed to explain its reversal of a decade-old policy of merely notifying employers about discrepancies in Social Security records. The Bush administration submitted a new explanation for the rule and asked Breyer to revive it, a request that was still pending when Bush left office in January. Opponents applauded the Obama administration's decision to drop the rule. "The no-match program was a flawed and ineffective enforcement tool that would have hurt U.S. citizens and other authorized workers," said Richard Trumka, president of the AFL-CIO. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/10/09/BAON1A3110.DTL moreVoting Question: Why am I having problems understanding my High-Tech Telecommunication job?
I am a very intelligent, well-educated person who has recieved extensive training to perform my very High-Tech Telecommunications job. All three of my academic degrees are in Business Administration and Leadership fields but still with the training I have recieved I understand the concepts but actually working equipment/computer and telecommunications equipment I am very dense in understanding. I am beginning to feel stupid. I have been in my career field for a while (years-does not mean working equipment). I understand signal flow but the virtual stuff really confusses me. I am older than most of my coworkers and I am in my late thirties. I just do not have the understanding that my early to mid twenty coworkers naturally have. I really want to know why! I can perform a task but not really understand. I think cars and business. Honestly, I took/picked my job because I wanted to improve my weakness which is computers and technology. I understand that when I am through with military service I will not or want to do this job on the outside because I am not good at it. It does not come natural to me! I would appreciate so advice on the why. Thanks! moreResolved Question: No work experience, should I get my Masters?
I recently earned my BS in Business Administration with a concentration in HR Management and have had a tough time getting a job because I don't have the work experience. I have a 4 year bachelor's degree in business management and administration with a GPA of 2.6 from a fairly prestigious business school. While this is a non-technical degree, will the leadership education and experience I gained be of any benefit in my application? Also, would my degree have an influence over what career path I am assigned, or is this mostly based on the aptitude test? Does professional experience affect my assignment? I have had a job in analyzing costs and setting prices for a manufacturing company since graduation. Finally, is my GPA competitive enough to stand a chance at being accepted? I did very well in high school and on my SAT (GPA 3.7 and SAT 1220) but got caught up goofing off in college and did not really get serious until my final two semesters. For those semesters my GPA was around a 3.2, and I took the role of team leader in lots of projects. I was also elected President of my dorm's student council. What kinds of jobs would someone with a BSM be qualified for? What kinds of jobs would someone with a Bachelor's degree in science Business administration be qualified for? I am planning on going to CSU Sacramento (a public state school) but I can’t decide on what degree to go for but I have narrowed it down to an Ed.D (Education Doctorate in Education Leadership) or a MBA. I have my BSBA (bachelors of Science in Business Administration) with a minor in human recourses from DeVry University. I was thinking of going into the MBA program but I have heard a lot of negative things about it. Here are some things about me. My strengths are that I am a: •Outstanding leader •Strong problem solver •Effective public speaker •Good mathematical skills •Excellent understanding of concepts •Superb reasoning skills My weaknesses are that I: •Have problems writing constantly •Do not have the most extensive vocabulary •Hate remembering useless information that will not benefit me •Do not like to be doing the same thing over and over again •Like to use my brain What I think are good carrier characteristics are: •A salary of around 75k to 100k •To rarely work more than 40 hours a week •A job that should be around for 40 years •The job to be is somewhat of demand •That maybe requires a license What I think are bad carrier characteristics are: •A job that will not get affected much by outsourcing or of shoring •The ability to get the job without a degree in that field •The lack of critical thinking involved that the employee is more like a tool than a person •An inconsistent salary (like contractors) I know that I am not going to find a perfect job that fits me to the T but I would like to at least like to get one that comes close. I currently have a four year degree in Business Administration - Leadership degree, from a business specialized school and am currently in school, working on a computer science degree. I am starting to have second thoughts about my degree choice, because I really don't want to be someone who is stuck in a cubicle all day writing mindless code. Please don't read me wrong though, I do love learning how to code and learning how programs are made. I was trying to think if a MIS degree would maybe be a more viable option for me right now, with already having a 4 year business degree, I would think that would take care of alot of business classes I would be required to take in the MIS program. However, I was also thinking because I already have a 4 year degree that specializes in pretty much business Mangement and leadership, would it be smarter for me to stick it out in the the CS program and finish that degree. The question is I guess, what if I wanted a job that is usually considered a job for a MIS graduate? Would the fact I have a 4 year degree in Business Administration- Leadership and a 4 year degree in Computer Science, make me a more intriguing canidate then someone with just a MIS degree? Would this scare job opportunities away from me, because people would think I am over educated for a MIS job? Should I just get a MIS degree and continue learning programming in depth on my own time? I am a recent college graduate. I earned a B.Sc. in Business Administration with my emphases on Management, Finance and Accounting (yes, that's three majors). I don't want to continue doing tech stuff (quite frankly, I'm not that good at it), I've done retail and I've done sales and disliked both. About the only thing I enjoy is trading currencies and gold, playing with my cell phone, and playing video games. However, I'm not anti-social and in fact, I'm quite athletic. I enjoy playing every sport but my eyesight is shot. Complete economic collapse.....failure of banks and soon many businesses Millions of net jobs lost + declining wages across the board Record setting budget deficits even during GOOD economic years TWO wars with no end in sight, and one of them started based on lies Incompetent leadership during hurricane Katrina and other events No accountability.....avoiding any investigation of 9/11 and allowing no transparency in the administration Violating the BILL OF RIGHTS by.torturing people and spying on American citizens Since 'Clinton did it' seems to be the most coherent explanation, so far, let me just point out some things that happened under Clinton: A record BUDGET SURPLUS of over 300 BILLION dollars (that Bush turned to a 300 billion dollar deficit in his first year) 22 MILLION jobs created - a record for a 8 year term Record increases on income - real income - compared with cost of living Clinton did start a war in Bosnia led by Gen. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has been widely recognized for his leadership and accomplishments as a public servant and in private enterprise. Elected in 2002, Governor Romney presided over a dramatic reversal of state fortunes and a period of sustained economic expansion. Without raising taxes or increasing debt, Governor Romney balanced the budget every year of his administration, closing a $3 billion budget gap inherited when he took office. By eliminating waste, streamlining the government, and enacting comprehensive economic reforms to stimulate growth in Massachusetts, Romney got the economy moving again and transformed deficits into surpluses. At the beginning of Governor Romney's term, Massachusetts was losing thousands of jobs every month. By the time he left office, the unemployment rate was lower, hundreds of companies had expanded or moved to Massachusetts, and in the last two years of his term, the state had added approximately 60,000 jobs. One of Governor Romney's top priorities was reforming the education system so that young people could compete for better paying jobs in the global economy of the future. In 2004, Governor Romney established the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship Program to reward the top 25 percent of Massachusetts high school students with a four-year, tuition-free scholarship to any Massachusetts public university or college. He has also championed a package of education reforms, including merit pay, an emphasis on math and science instruction, important new intervention programs for failing schools and English immersion for foreign-speaking students. In 2006, Governor Romney proposed and signed into law a private, market-based reform that ensures every Massachusetts citizen will have health insurance, without a government takeover and without raising taxes. Governor Romney was elected to the Chairmanship of the Republican Governors Association by his fellow Governors for the 2006 election cycle, and raised a record $27 million for candidates running in State House contests around the country. Romney first gained national recognition for his role in turning around the 2002 Winter Olympics. With the 2002 Games mired in controversy and facing a financial crisis, Romney left behind a successful career as an entrepreneur to take over as President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee. Governor Romney has said he felt compelled to assume the seemingly impossible task of rescuing the Games by both the urgings of his wife, Ann, and by the memory of his father, George Romney, who had been a successful businessman, three-term Governor of Michigan, and a tireless advocate of volunteerism in America. In his three years at the helm in Salt Lake, Romney erased a $379 million operating deficit, organized 23,000 volunteers, galvanized community spirit and oversaw an unprecedented security mobilization just months after the September 11th attacks, leading to one of the most successful Olympics in our country's history. Prior to his Olympic service, Mitt Romney enjoyed a successful career helping businesses grow and improve their operations. From 1978 to 1984, Mr. Romney was a Vice President at Bain & Company, Inc., a leading management consulting firm. In 1984, Romney founded Bain Capital, one of the nation's most successful venture capital and investment companies. Bain Capital helped launch hundreds of companies on a successful course, including Staples, Bright Horizons Family Solutions, Domino's Pizza, Sealy, Brookstone, and The Sports Authority. He was asked to return to Bain & Company as CEO several years later in order to lead a financial restructuring of the organization. Today, Bain & Company employs more than 2,000 people in 25 offices worldwide. Governor Romney has been deeply involved in community and civic affairs, serving extensively in his church and numerous charities including City Year, the Boy Scouts, and the Points of Light Foundation. He was also the Republican nominee for U.S. Senate in 1994. Governor Romney received his B.A., with Highest Honors, from Brigham Young University in 1971. In 1975, he was awarded an MBA from Harvard Business School, where he was named a Baker Scholar, and a J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School. moreResolved Question: who would you want to lead the USA if we get bombed again?
See while Obama seems to be making friends in enemy states it is John McCain that has the ties and relationships to bring allies to aid in conflict. It is also a known fact the he supports surge mentality, sending more troops with better equipment so that victory is swift and troop loss is minimal. Obama is more likely to follow suit of the Clinton administration with the USS Cole, and the first WTC attack and walk away from a fight preferring to talk them to death and allowing us to be attacked again. Folks it didn't work then and wont work now. I don't know how any persona could refer to Obama as the smarter or more educated man as he lacks common sense and leadership. His economic strategy is one of doom and gloom for businesses and jobs, and his energy policy continues to keep us spending on foreign oil that funds these very enemies. Barrack Obama would put us in bed with people like Hugo Chavez and nations like Cuba, an act that could push our allies away from us as these are their enemies as well. Why is Obama so opposed to drilling? It's not the environment, or economy, as the funds earned from increased domestic production are the same money paying for the lion's share of new energy research and development, those funds curb the deficit and strengthen the economy while creating thousands of new jobs. The only reason to fight that is working Americans and a solve deficit issue make it harder to find people interested in Government run health care and increased taxes to pay for a social security system that has failed. If you are not dependent on the government you are not dependent on a Democrat. just to let you that are just kids know I AM A COMBAT VET and dont want to be put down for my question. i served under both partys and i know when it got better for me. we got better equipment with one of them. if we had not i would be dead right now instead of just disabled. so keep in mind i fought and was shot protecting your rights to be stupid or smart.and by the way i was sent into combat by a DEM moreResolved Question: was Clinton statistically our greatest president ever?
Under President Clinton's leadership, almost 6 million new jobs were created in the first two years of his Administration -- an average of 250,000 new jobs every month. # In 1994, the economy had the lowest combination of unemployment and inflation in 25 years. # As part of the 1993 Economic Plan, President Clinton cut taxes on 15 million low-income families and made tax cuts available to 90 percent of small businesses, while raising taxes on just 1.2 percent of the wealthiest taxpayers. # President Clinton signed into law the largest deficit reduction plan in history, resulting in over $600 billion in deficit reduction. The deficit is going down for 3 years in a row for the first time since Harry Truman was president. http://www.perkel.com/politics/clinton/accomp.htm ---read that for more moreResolved Question: Are Republicans a bunch of Whining cry Babies ?
Did you see those Republican who are afraid of losing their seat in the house and senate crying but was at the same time asking thier fellow Republicans to vote yes? Was this speech by Pelosi enough for the Republicans to put this country economy at risk. Here is the text of Nancy Pelosi's speech as prepared for delivery. "Madam Speaker, when was the last time someone asked you for $700 billion? "It is a number that is staggering, but tells us only the costs of the Bush Administration's failed economic policies--policies built on budgetary recklessness, on an anything goes mentality, with no regulation, no supervision, and no discipline in the system. "Democrats believe in the free market, which can and does create jobs, wealth, and capital, but left to its own devices it has created chaos. "That chaos is the dismal picture painted by Treasury Secretary Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke a week and a half ago in the Capitol. As they pointed out, we confront a crisis of historic magnitude that has the ability to do serious injury not simply to our economy, but to the American people: not just to Wall Street, but to everyday Americans on Main Street. "It is our responsibility today, to help avert that catastrophic outcome. "Let us be clear: This is a crisis caused on Wall Street. But it is a crisis that reaches to Main Street in every city and town of the United States. "It is a crisis that freezes credit, causes families to lose their homes, cripples small businesses, and makes it harder to find jobs. "It is a crisis that never had to happen. It is now the duty of every Member of this body to recognize that the failure to act responsibly, with full protections for the American taxpayer, would compound the damage already done to the financial security of millions of American families. "Over the past several days, we have worked with our Republican colleagues to fashion an alternative to the original plan of the Bush Administration. "I must recognize the outstanding leadership provided by Chairman Barney Frank, whose enormous intellectual and strategic abilities have never before been so urgently needed, or so widely admired. "I also want to recognize Rahm Emanuel, who combined his deep knowledge of financial institutions with his pragmatic policy experience, to resolve key disagreements. "Secretary Paulson deserves credit for working day and night to help reach an agreement and for his flexibility in negotiating changes to his original proposal. "Democrats insisted that legislation responding to this crisis must protect the American people and Main Street from the meltdown on Wall Street. "The American people did not decide to dangerously weaken our regulatory and oversight policies. They did not make unwise and risky financial deals. They did not jeopardize the economic security of the nation. And they must not pay the cost of this emergency recovery and stabilization bill. "So we insisted that this bill contain several key provisions: "This legislation must contain independent and ongoing oversight to ensure that the recovery program is managed with full transparency and strict accountability. "The legislation must do everything possible to allow as many people to stay in their homes rather than face foreclosure. "The corporate CEOs whose companies will benefit from the public's participation in this recovery must not benefit by exorbitant salaries and golden parachute retirement bonuses. "Our message to Wall Street is this: the party is over. The era of golden parachutes for high-flying Wall Street operators is over. No longer will the U.S. taxpayer bailout the recklessness of Wall Street. "The taxpayers who bear the risk in this recovery must share in the upside as the economy recovers. "And should this program not pay for itself, the financial institutions that benefited, not the taxpayers, must bear responsibility for making up the difference. "These were the Democratic demands to safeguard the American taxpayer, to help the economy recover, and to impose tough accountability as a central component of this recovery effort. "This legislation is not the end of congressional activity on this crisis. Over the course of the next few weeks, we will continue to hold investigative and oversight hearings to find out how the crisis developed, where mistakes were made, and how the recovery must be managed to protect the middle class and the American taxpayer. "With passage of this legislation today, we can begin the difficult job of turning our economy around, of helping those who depend on a growing economy and stable financial institutions for a secure retirement, for the education of their children, for jobs and small business credit. "Today we must act for those Americans, for Main Street, and we must act now, with the bipartisan spirit of cooperation which allowed us to fashion this legislation. "This not enough. Background info: I have a Masters degree in Business Administration with no work experience. As a mother of 2 high-energy boys, I would like a job that gives me a lot of time for my kids. A low stress job would do for me, as I cannot handle too much stress (nothing medical). Hubby thinks I don't need to work because he thinks I'm already too busy, and especially because he earns enough to keep us all happy. I am doing very ok with no financial worries at all, but i would still like to earn something for myself no matter how little. I considered owning my own business maybe through a franchise but I think that would require a lot of time, energy, as well as grab attention from my kids. As to my likes: I do not like numbers even though I took accounting and finacial courses in school. , I love courses on leadership, teams, and diversity (basically courses in organizational behavior). All opinions are welcome. Dobbs: Five-weeks off for 'do-nothing Congress' By Lou Dobbs CNNNEW YORK (CNN) -- This Republican-led, do-nothing Congress is on its way home for a five-week vacation. I'm sure while there, they'll be glad to explain to their constituents why they need so much rest in a year in which they will work fewer than 80 days. The Republicans in Congress have little to brag about when they return home. And the Democrats have a lot of explaining to do, as well. Once the party of the New Deal, Fair Deal and Great Society, the party of working men and women, the Democrats are now buried as deeply in the pockets of their corporate masters as are the Republicans. The Democratic Party has played a major role in helping to pass legislation that is grossly injurious to middle-class Americans and their families. This Congress, Republican-led with complicit Democrats, has cut $13 billion in college-student aid, passed numerous free-trade agreements that threaten good-paying jobs and approved an unconscionable bankruptcy law written by credit-card companies that is nothing less than a federal government heel in the neck of American families bankrupted by catastrophic illness and crushing medical bills. In fact, 18 of the 44 Democrats in the Senate and 73 of the 201 Democrats in the House voted in favor of the creditor-friendly bankruptcy bill. They apparently either didn't bother to learn or didn't care that half of all bankruptcies are caused by the soaring medical bills that stem from unforeseen illnesses and injuries. The Democrats are also casting deciding votes on the so-called free-trade agreements that have allowed corporate supremacists to export American jobs to the cheapest sources of labor. Twenty-two House Democrats approved the recent Oman free-trade agreement, including 10 that had previously voted for the Central American Free Trade Agreement. CAFTA, which passed the House by only two votes at the midnight hour, opened up to American businesses a market about the size of New Haven, Connecticut. And Democrats in the Senate have embraced the wrongheaded policies of the Bush administration on border security and illegal immigration. Thirty-eight Democrats joined with the Senate Republican leadership to crush the Republican majority and pass the illegal-alien amnesty bill. Forty-two Democrats voted against legislation that would have built a border fence to stop the flow of illegal aliens and drugs across our borders. In fact, it was Democrat Christopher Dodd of Connecticut whose amendment was attached to the legislation that would require the U.S. government to consult with the Mexican government before building a fence along our southern border. Congressional Democrats are even more dismissive of the need for border security than the Senate Republicans. House Republicans have taken to calling the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill the "Reid-Kennedy bill" because Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada and Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts shaped most of the legislation. The Democrats incredibly talk about illegal aliens as victims as they press for amnesty, yet not one has raised concerns for the true victims of corporate America's lust for cheap labor: American working men and women, taxpayers all. It was, after all, Sen. Reid who argued in 1993 that illegal aliens place "tremendous burdens" on this country's justice system, schools and social programs, stretching our federal wallet to the limit as a result of "illegal aliens getting welfare, food stamps, medical care and other benefits." What could possibly explain Sen. Reid's complete conversion on the issue? He's said it was from talking to his wife and immigrants, but could his state's wholesale importation of illegal aliens and the importance of all that corporate lobbying and campaign contribution money be a factor? Surely not. And how about that firebrand advocate for the Democratic Party's traditions and values, Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean? Once considered a presidential candidate with a refreshing vision for America, Dean now spends no time pursuing ideas and proposals that would help working men and women. Instead, he's devoting his time and energy begging for money at the same contribution slop trough as his opponents while hurling insults at Republicans and indulging in petty name-calling. Instead of articulating a vision and plan to help the United States win the war in Iraq, he said simply late last year, "The idea that the United States is going to win the war in Iraq is just plain wrong." And when Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki was to address a joint session of Congress, Dean called him an anti-Semite for criticizing Israel. The petulant DNC chairman outdid himself by comparing an inconsequential Republican congresswoman, Katherine Harris of Florida, to the rather consequential Joseph Stalin. The incomparable Howard Dean managed to do that while calling for an end to political divisiveness. The Democrats want to wrest control of Congress from Republicans, and they have a better than average opportunity to accomplish the feat. The next five weeks just might be a good time for frustrated, disgusted constituents to ask what it will take to elect a Congress willing to represent working men and women and their families. And let me know what you hear. moreTop Jobs In Business Administration And Leadership Links
