Open Question: How to word my current job for my cv?
I am updating my CV to look for new jobs but i can't quite think of how to word what i do in my current job so if i explain what i do hopefully one of you lovely clever people will help me by answering what you would write in a couple of lines. I work in an outbound call centre for a business transfer agent. It's my job to cold call businesses and ask for the owner, then once i get hold of the owner to ask if they're considering selling there business in the near future and if they want a free valuation. If they say yeah then i have to get there basic details (name, address etc) and send it up as a lead to the diaries department who will then phone them back and arrange the appointment and that's pretty much it. Also it's a high call rate, about 600-800 calls a day if i should put that into it as well. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers. moreOpen Question: why does the US Chamber of Commence say Obama hates all Business and is bad for Jobs?
At a summit on job creation, the Chamber blasted Obama administration policies it says are leading to economic uncertainty and an unnecessary regulatory burden on business. Washington's current leadership is responsible for a "general attack on our free enterprise system," said Tom Bell, chairman of the board of directors for the Chamber. "For the first time in my 40 years of observation, our free enterprise system is truly at risk," he said. "If we allow Congress and the administration to continue to spend... we're setting ourselves up to be the next Greece http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20010572-503544.html moreOpen Question: What is an online business tool for customer service?
I am looking for CRM system that is more geared toward customer service. Most of the ones I've seen are focusing on Sales/Leads. I need one where users can login, see a queue of people who need help and any user can go and pick a customer, and start helping them. Also customer requests should be able to automatically get entered into the system when they email and/or fill out some sort of form/application... Preferably something that has a free version or free trial so we can test it out first. Thanks in advance. moreOpen Question: Should real Conservatives be for decriminalization of marijuana?
Decriminalization of marijuana would lead to saving tax payer money as we wouldn't need to enforce the law, nor would we need to pay to lock users up. It should reduce crime as dealers would be put out of business if people could grow their own. It would add to freedoms as right now you are not free to grow a plant. It could add to jobs and manufacturing as hemp products may increase. moreResolved Question: Do you think marijuana should be legalized?
I think it should be legalized, because if it were legalized, the government could control the intensity and make it safe, stopping people from buying potentially dangerous mixes on the street. It could be possible to issue licenses that update whenever you buy some, to make sure that people aren't becoming addicted or that it isn't being sold to children. Here are some other arguments For and Against. The drug generally isn't more harmful than alcohol or tobacco if used in moderation. Limiting the use of the drug intrudes on personal freedom. Legalization would mean a lower price; thus, related crimes (like theft) would be reduced. There are medical benefits such as the those for cancer patients. Street justice related to drug disputes would be reduced. It could be a source of additional tax revenues. Police and court resources would be freed up for more serious crimes. Drug dealers (including some terrorists) would lose most or all of their business. The FDA or others could regulate the quality and safety of drugs. Like sex, alcohol, or cigarettes, marijuana is one of life's little pleasures for some people. Drug busts often trap young people in a flawed system that turns them into lifelong criminals. Marijuana is often used as a stepping-stone drug, leading to heroin, cocaine, or other harder drugs. Stoned driving and other dangers would be increased. Some consider use of the drug as morally wrong. Legalization would increase the chances of the drug falling into the hands of kids. Because of drug-related arrests, people who have committed or are likely to commit more serious crimes can be taken off the streets. Physical damage would be done to users that abuse the drug. More widespread use would increase the dangers of secondhand smoke-damage to bystanders. Please don't attack me because of my view, just tell me what you think.(Yes, I did copy and paste the arguments, who cares?) moreResolved Question: What about my human right to see the face of the person in front of me?
The French Government aims to outlaw the wearing of full veils on state premises and on public transport. No more than about 2,000 women are said to wear full face-covering, nearly all of them young women from the immigrant housing estates who have embraced strict Islamic codes as an act of defiance. Suicide bombers, clad in niquab/burkha have often killed the innocent in Iraq and Pakistan. This leads me to ask about my right as a citizen of a free country to go about my business freely and in safety from a suicide bomber, hiding behind the niquab/burkha. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/europe/article6988737.eceThe niquab/burkha is not required by Islam. This has been declared by many Imams themselves. It is just a political movement aligned to the Islamic faith. Thus a political movement may be freely opposed to by another. From the same Guardian 1st Feb 2010: "The bomber hid the explosives underneath an abaya ? a black cloak worn from head to toe by women ? as she joined a group of pilgrims on the outskirts of the Shia-dominated neighbourhood of Shaab, said Major General Qassim al-Moussawi, Baghdad's top military spokesman. A police official said 41 were killed, including a number of women and children, and 106 wounded." moreResolved Question: Mentor Request:) What can you present me?
It’s a delight to present myself to you. My name is Diamond. I’m just your common teenager prepared to stop sitting around and doing orthodox things. I am at a very jovial point in my life and I’m just missing that one aspiration. This is something I am itching to do. I’m very conscious to the fact that the next decision I make could ultimately mold my future and I want to do it right. I am an extensive dreamer. I aspire to become an actress, model, singer, and dancer. I expect to commence oodles of businesses in clothing, photography, advertising, and investing. I’m being comfortable for now and soaking in life. I am completing school online. I’ll begin pursuing the bigger dreams in three years or so. I’m ready to start small, but it ultimately be a hit so I can have an trusting income to support my dream. I feel I have a lot to offer. Creativity is a well-built characteristic of mine. I do small jobs here and there regarding photography, business cards, and pretty much anything I can design on a computer. I’d have to say photography is definitely my passion; the one thing I would do for free for the rest of my life. Decorating has a bit of my enthusiasm too. I have industrious ideas and I just need a superior willing to lead me. Your advice would be very valuable to me. If you would like to mentor me, I would greatly appreciate it. Over the summer, I plan on starting my own online company. I have made my decision on what I will do. It is a website where users can sign up for free, and sellers can list their website and or domain name for sale or auction. A buyer who is interested can purchase the website. The seller can post a snapshot of the website and post other info regarding his/her website. They can place the starting bid and or buy now price. I would make money by selling ad space, and by charging a very small fee for the seller to post his site for sale (this can also help by eliminating scammers trying to sell scam sites since scammers dont want to pay fees to post up a scam). The reason why i think this is a good idea is because people are now starting to "flip" websites (buy a website, fix it up, and sell it for profit. There is no real industry leading website available to buy and sell websites except for sitepoint.com, which does not have their main focus on the marketplace. If I market this site enough bringing targeted customers and visitors, this site could become a success. Since i have very good coding and design knowledge, I can easily create the site. I also have a marketing plan in place. My uncle, who markets sites for a living, thinks this site could have potential and says my marketing plan is perfect. My goal is to eventually make six or more figures a year. Do you think I could make six or more figures a year with this idea? Do you think it could be profitable? Do you think I should do it? Thanks! moreResolved Question: Why Is It Wrong To Smoke But Not Drink?
I wanted to know why people protest on smoking but it's okay to drink? Basically it will still harm your body with drinking if you drink too much also. I bet all the people who protest on smoking drinks! I asked this question before and someone said it bothers others if you smoke but if you drink that does harm others if you get drunk driving and cause accidents . Also certain foods can lead to heart attacks like sugar and fatty foods! I hear healthy people die young and I see smokers older than 60 with no health problems. My opinion is that this a free country and if you want to smoke that is your business! I also think people worry about others business too much and should worry about theirs! moreResolved Question: free online college courses that don't offer degrees?

1- Start the day with the Fajr or Morning Prayer after performing the nafilah or supplementary Fajr prayer, which acts as a spiritual preparation and prevent laziness and lethargy. It also compensates for any deficiency in the obligatory prayer 2- Perform Tasbih al-Zahra' directly after prayer, as well as after each of five prayers. Then recite special supplications like those mentioned in the book Mafateeh Al-Jinan. At least once in his life, the believer should recite the supplication of al-Ahd every day for a period of forty days. It is important, however, to stay awake till sunrise, a deed that might increase one's wealth, and to read at least 100 ayats of the Qur'an during this time. 3- Say the Estia'atha, asking God for protection against the Devil and his evils, at the beginning of the day. 4- Promise yourself, as you are going to work or school, not to commit any disobedience during this day. Then observe yourself carefully throughout day time, and finally evaluate your performance before you go to bed! 5- Remind yourself that you are going to work for the sake of God, aiming to obtain financial independence. A woman should choose a workplace where she can avoid mixing with men. Devils and corrupt men are waiting for any chance to hunt women, especially during work time when no barriers are maintained between the sexes. 6- Try always to be under the purity of Wudhu', or ritual ablution, because outward purification leads to inward purification. Renew wudhu' each time it is broken. 7- Give daily sadaqa, or charity, even if it is something small. If you don't find a poor man near you, you can set the money aside till you find one. 8- Say farewell to your family members, asking them to pray for your success, to forgive you for any mistakes, especially your wife, and advise them to do their daily prayers early at the beginning of the recommended time 9- Don't waste time on your way to work. Take a useful cassette with you, or a walkman, to keep you away from neglectfulness, especially when you are bored of reading and prefer to listen. Holy Qur'an is recommended if you are comfortable with that. In any case, never listen to forbidden things like singing 10- Choose a specific Dhikr, a word or words of praise, to fill your time. 'Surat at-Tawhid', 'La Ilaha illa allah', and 'Allahumma salli ala Mohammed wa ali Mohammed' are good examples to repeat again and again. After some time, you will find it ridiculous to say things that don't bring any benefit either in this world or the Hereafter! 11- Keep a useful book at your workplace to read in your free time. In general, the believer should always have a valuable library with a variety of books at all levels, including women and children's books, to encourage himself and others to read. 12- Try not to pleasantly chat with neglectful people, especially of the opposite sex. Unnecessary talking and joking are means to fall into more dangerous problems. It is prudent to consider before opening our mouths whether or not we are saying something which satisfies Almighty God.. 13- Carry a schedule of prayer times with you, to perform Salat Ad-Dhuhr, the Noon Prayer, which has a distinctive position amidst the swarm of daily business, at the beginning of its time, no matter how busy you are. You should take general permission from your boss in advance to perform your prayers on time. Make the quality of prayer your chief concern rather than its length!. 14- Perform Istighfar, seeking forgiveness, 70 times after Asr or Afternoon Prayer, so that Almighty God might forgive 700 of your faults! Read Surat Al-Qadr 10 times, so that you gain the reward of everyone's good deeds that day! Seeking forgiveness, in fact, is the main and constant concern of the believer, especially after an act of disobedience. Istighfar after Afternoon and Night Prayers are two important points, 12 hours apart, that cause the believer to live in continuous purity. 15- Try to contact some of your brothers in your free time, not just for fun, but to achieve the goal of communication with believers and pleasing their hearts. 16- A major problem of sitting with neglectful people is backbiting and insulting others. Try to avoid starting any conversation regarding other persons. Listening to backbiting, as well, is another form of participating in it! Remember the analogy in the Holy Qur'an which considers this act like eating your dead brother's flesh. What a disgusting act! 17- Enter your home with a smile on your face, leaving work's tension outside, to avoid disappointing your wife who is waiting for you in love from early morning, preparing food and comfort to share with you.. 18- Consider lunch a divine table at which you are a guRead on: http://www.duas.org/daily_program.htm moreResolved Question: Legalize pot. Debate me.?
I'm just looking for someone to debate. I, for one, am completely for the legalization of marijuana. Give me any reason why Marijuana SHOULDN'T be legal and i will shoot it down. Marijuana is a deadly drug. - No, it is physically impossible to overdose on Marijuana. Well, Marijuana may lead teens to make potentially deadly decisions, such as getting into a car. - That's exactly why we SHOULD legalise it. In fact, as a teenager, i can say that it is easier to get a couple grams of weed than it is a six pack of bud. Because alcohol sale is REGULATED and prohibited for those under 21. Therefore, you legalize and REGULATE Marijuana; start selling it at gas stations and "coffee shops", and slowly "drug dealers" go out of business, and it becomes harder to get a hold of. Meaning LESS teenage "Marijuana related" deaths Marijuana is addictive. - Phsychologically yes. But so is sex. So is reading. Tv, video games. EVERYTHING is, at some level, phsychologically addictive. What Marijuana ISN'T, is PHYSICALLY addictive. Alcohol and Tobacco, both legal substances, are physically addictive. And yet they are legal. Every blunt you smoke funds South American drug cartels. - If you legalize, and regulate of course, the growth and production of Marijuana, then we can buy our weed knowing that we helped farmer jon earn a living, as opposed to having to buy it from the evil gangs. Marijuana kills brain cells. - So does holding your breath. I equate this argument to the "nana nana boo boo, im right your wrong" argument that my little sister says all the time. This is merely meant to be an end all argument for the completely misinforment anti-drug campaign. Marijuana contains cancer causing chemicals. - Radios, cellphones, televisions and microwaves all emit waves into the atmosphere that can cause cancer. The preservatives contained in 90% of the foods in a typical americans diet cause cancer. Drinking from a water fountain causes cancer. Cancer is an inevitable part of American society. Everything causes cancer. If you live long enough to avoid dying of another cause, you will eventually develop cancer. Seeing as Marijuana has not been proven to DIRECTLY CAUSE or ACCELERATE any known cancer, ( Such as tobacco being linked to lung cancer and emphysema ) I do not feel as if "Carcinogens" are a strong enough basis for illegalization. Its just a drug. You take it to escape reality. - Yes, that is also why people read books, watch movies, tv. Once again, an illegitimate argument present by a nonsense filled, propagandized, anti-drug campaign. Im kinda getting tired so im gonna stop. I feel as if i have presented enough reasons as to why it shouldn't be illegal, but if you have another, feel free to post it and i will present a logical argument. Oh yea, two quick reasons why it SHOULD be LEGALIZED. 1. As stated above, there is absolutely NO well devised reason that it should illegal. 2. The economy is pretty jacked up right now. As opposed to THROWING AWAY money to enforce laws against marijuana, lets CREATE jobs, CREATE taxes, and CREATE an entire new market to help get this economy back on track. So lets grow up and quit this childish "its a drug therefore its bad" thinking. And oh yea, LEGALIZE TODAY of course :)Huckleberry - I dont know when the drug campaigns started calling Marijuana dope. But Marijuana is, in fact, not dope. Dope is meth. Meth releases a surge of a chemical called dopamine into the body. Giving it the name dope. As for being slow and stupid, perhaps. But only for the duration of which you are under the influence. I can smoke at the end of a long day, to relax at home. When i dont need to be productive. And since there is no hangover, i can go right back to school the next day and maintain my 3.8 gpa. Debra D - Thank you very much :). But this isn't some lifelong dream of mine. Haha im just having fun. moreVoting Question: Pyramid scheme or legit referral business? My frien took me to a meeting last night....?
My friend brought me to this meeting at a hotel confrence room the other night, okay I know its already sounding like a pyramid scheme...lol. Basically what i got from it is that its a lead generation program. If your buying a house and I get you to use their program you get money back when you close and I get money for giving them your lead. That part sounds somewhat legit. The wierd part is that your trying to bring other people in to do the same thing, this part sounds kinda pyramid scheme like. The site they have is loanhomeonline.com/findamortgage. Drilling for and pumping oil is a profitable business as is, but yet the actual mechanics of it are anything but free. They more than pay for themselves, but might some of our more successful efforts to control and contain this thing also double as an example of potential "shortcuts" in the process? The drek spewing out of the the gaping, man-made chasm in the ocean floor of the gulf is without question catastrophic in the sheer magnitude of the inevitable ecological aftermath. Maybe there is nothing to learn from it, I really don't know - I don't have experience with drilling or anything. I am a very un-learned layman when it comes to that particular field of expertise, and have no illusions about it. More than likely, if my ideas on the matter were workable, they would have been done by now. So I'm not really expecting this to lead to a useful answer, but I know the _possibility_ is there. So whatever the truth of the matter, I couldn't let this moment go by without at least _trying_ to find a way to get something positive & useful out of it. Okay, so here's what I see: "raw crude" + "water" (be it salty or fresh) = "massive oil slick on the surface. I hear more about the slick at the surface than about anything that's being dispersed into the water from it. Is that just because it's the "most visible and therefore best way to sell as many newspapers as possible" or because the slick, itself, actually _IS_ the only real problem? I think more than likely, the sludge being spewed into the water and that never makes it to the surface is probably far more harmful than any slick we can see on the surface. But am I correct? If not, then the shortcut seems obvious: If the only really "harmful" aspect of crude oil floats to the surface, wouldn't simply puncturing the reservoir and letting the oil float out naturally into collection siphons until the pressure begins to even out be a cheaper way to get the stuff? Eventually, I'm sure that the reservoir would have to be pumped to get any more crude out of it. But isn't there a rather long period of time prior to that point where the oil is being pushed out without any pumping necessary? It's just a thought, and yes, I am pretty sure it will be shot down as unworkable. I have no illusions there. It's just the "what if?" thing that compells me to ask. Thanks for your time in educating myself - and doubtless others - in this matter. I began a cursory search for this information, but haven't yet seen if there's any useful, publicly intelligible data already out there on the topic. Thanks again. :-) moreResolved Question: This is my assignmment ...need help...?
Question1 Your client (Company X) has just informed you that they would like you to work on a new campaign that would assist with the marketing of their “new soft drink” product, and would prefer the Broadcast vehicle to communicate a message because of its advantages. The campaign is intended to run for two weeks. What criteria would you consider in the developing the Media plan for company X? Question 2 An electronic gadgets manufacturing firm wanted to market in India a small, hand-held electronic instrument for measuring blood pressure at home. The price of the instrument was fixed at around Rs. 3000 a piece. Being a specialty product, it was perceived to have only a limited clientele. The product was unique in the sense that it offered the convenience of constant monitoring of blood pressure at home, in office or anywhere, without having to visit the doctor. In order to prepare a cold list, an advertisement of the product, along with a coupon, was released in two leading business newspapers in Bombay. Interested individuals were asked to fill up the printed coupon and send it to the firm within 10 days to get a free booklet on management of blood pressure. A majority of the people who responded were found to be suffering from blood pressure, obesity or heart-related problems. A cold list of about 5,000 individuals was generated on the basis of filled-in coupons. Another alternative to this newspaper ad approach, as suggested by the research agency was to obtain a list of credit card holders from reputed banks such as ANZ Grindlays Bank, Citibank, Canara Bank, State Bank of India and Bank of Baroda. Question: What Sales Promotion techniques would be more appropriate for the company to market blood pressure instruments, and why? moreResolved Question: What do you think Police re-open street, arrest 8 protesters what did mean by chanted, "la raza unida"?
SANTA ANA – Police have re-opened Santa Ana Boulevard after they arrested eight protesters of Arizona's new anti-illegal immigration law who had lain down in the street. The protesters declined to give police their names and were taken to the Santa Ana Jail.Using ropes, duct tape, bolts, and PVC pipes, they had linked themselves together into a circular chain in the westbound lanes of busy Santa Ana Boulevard. Police and firefighters had to use medical scissors and wrenches to free the protesters, all of whom lay on the baking asphalt, looking into the sun. A banner lay on the street in the center of the circle, reading: "Arizona to Costa Mesa, racism ends here." Stickers on the pipes said, "Brown and proud." Some of the protesters either couldn't stand or refused to stand once they were freed. All refused to give police their names, and many even refused to speak to Fire Department paramedics who gave them a once-over before they were loaded into a waiting police holding van. Officers arrested them on suspicion of unlawful assembly and refusal to disperse, Santa Ana Police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna said. He added that the eight would be cited and released, depending on whether they provided their names and could be identified by officers. If not, they would remain in jail. A much larger group of about 60 peaceful but loud protesters helped block the street in front of the federal building for several hours. Police vehicles and fire trucks blocked off Santa Ana Boulevard between Parton and Flower streets. Police directed traffic around the closure. Authorities didn't know about the blockade until an officer happened upon it as he drove down the boulevard. "We were given no notice" of the gathering, Bertagna said, noting the protest affected traffic downtown and nearby businesses. "This is a major thoroughfare in the city of Santa Ana." The protesters, among other things, demanded that Santa Ana declare itself a so-called sanctuary city; that police officers not work with immigration officials; and that Costa Mesa repeal its Rule of Law resolution. One banner read: "Vengo a Defender los Derechos de la Humanidad'' – "I Come Here to Defend the Rights of Humanity.'' Sarina Sanchez, 21, a UCLA student from Los Angeles, was one of the protesters. She said the group wants Santa Ana to take a firmer stance against the Arizona immigration-enforcement law and wants Santa Ana police to stop collaborating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She said Thursday's protest was lead by the youth in the city. "There is a lot of youth here and immigrant families in Santa Ana," she said. She added that the eight arrested by authorities were in the country legally. The demonstration was organized by word of mouth. Phone calls were made and messages sent through social networking sites, such as Facebook. "We see an attack in the communities all over the nation,'' said protester Abraham Medina, a 21-year-old Santa Ana resident who attends UC Irvine. "People are scared to even go to work and come home from work.'' The protesters are not part of any specific group, he said, but represent "the community that has been silenced because of policies that introduce terror in our communities.'' The protesters scoffed – "Whose street? Our street!" -- after police issued a dispersal warning more than two hours after they first blocked Santa Ana Boulevard. Others chanted, "la raza unida, jamás será vencida"—"a race, united, will never be defeated." http://www.ocregister.com/news/immigration-251704-protestors-blocked.html?cb=1275597533 moreResolved Question: Would you mind taking a look at my accounting internship resume+cover letter?

This test states that I am a Libertarian, I believe, leaning right. But what else does it say about me? I am sorta new to politics so I have a harder time understanding some of this. Every test I take gives me about the same outcome so I thought I could post it on here to better understand my views. Conservative/Progressive score: 4 You are a social moderate. You think the progressive movement is overall well meaning, but sometimes it goes too far. On issues like abortion and affirmative action, you see the negatives of both extremes on the issue. You probably value religion, but at the same time you think it should still stay separate from the government Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 4 You are a Moderate Capitalist. You support an economy that is by and large a free market, but has public programs to help people who can't help themselves or need a little help. Pretty much you believe in the American economy how it currently is. Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 3 You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism. Pacifist/Militarist score: 7 You're a Moderate. You think that in very rare occasions, the United States should invade a country in order to make the world better by spreading democracy or ending a tyrants rule. You also think that defense is very important, and we shouldn't lower the defense budget. You think that, while the Iraq War probably was a mistake, that we can make the world a better place by sticking with it and spreading democracy in the middle east. moreResolved Question: How to get a free accounting internship in los angelos area?

i understand that animals are below us on the food chain and that it is only natural for us to use their resources but i also do believe that even thought we are superior to them, they still do have a right to enjoy a happy life before they are slaughtered. i personally don't eat meat but i do eat dairy and eggs but lately i have been hearing that all of these egg packages that say "free range" or "cage free" are really not keeping their animals in the conditions they are leading the consumer to believe they are. i for one, will only eat genuinely cage free or free range eggs, as i do not support the conditions these poor animals are kept in. is it a joke, is there really no such thing as a factory farm that keeps their animals in fair conditions? or is their some kind of way to know which brands do support animals welfare and which are stretching the phrase "cage free" in order to increase profit for their business? thanks in advance :) moreVoting Question: Please help rewrite essay! I am really desperate. 10 points?
I am a non English speaker. This essay is an Interview about a PERSONS JOB. Please correct anything and feel free to add/make up anything(quotes, sentences) as you like. It would be really helpful if you can rewrite the essay and extend it. Thank You so much for helping. :) The essay: “I have been in the computer business for seventeen years” says John Dillon with an authoritative voice as he walks inside his warehouse. He shows me a picture of him starting his business in his friend’s basement. As he takes the endless calls from his clients he says “I have passed many hurdles in my life in order to be where I am.” From a very young age, John did not like the idea of being told what to do. John's family consisted of three brothers and two sisters. “I was the youngest” he says. He felt that his siblings always had an unfair advantage over him for bossing him around. This led to his desire to lead. “The best way to get back at anybody is to succeed” says John with a devil smile on his face, he was very ambitious, which led to his very good grades in school and college. Immediately after high school he went to a community college where he did his general education requirements and then transferred to UFL (University of Florida) and completed his Bachelors degree 1996 with Computer Science Major and a minor of economics. From a young age he was very fond of technology especially computers. He shows his touch-screen phone and says “everything in the future will be computerized”. “I never thought I would be in this position today” he says. After John got out of University he was reluctant to get a job. He did not like the idea of someone instructing him what to do. After a while he realized he needed a steady income to pay his debts from college years. “It was a hard time, I was desperate” he says. He sold his only computer he bought couple of months ago. And right away he thought of the idea of selling electronics. This business gave him the luxury to use all of his dream gadgets. “I was making a lot of profit due to the cheap price I used to sell “ he says. Eventually it grew enough and today his business employs eighteen people. His annual income is close to a million today. “ I help my brothers and siblings out and now I boss them around” John says laughing. Its been a dream come true for me. moreVoting Question: For my Descendant question: Libra through Pisces...?
Does this describe what you like in a partner, and the traits you like to have in a relationship? (Descendent Sign is opposite your Ascendant) Libra The Libra influence in the seventh house shows a strong need to have others play an important part in affairs. You need the calming, tranquil effects of the Libra/Venus type person in any sort of long term romantic relationship. You want to be admired, and you want the feeling that you are influencing another's thinking and behavior. You sow your wild oats at an early age and become calm and judicious when it comes to selecting a marital partner. You must curb your frankness and become more diplomatic to succeed in marriage or in other partnerships. Sharing is not a natural trait and must be learned. You have difficulty seeing the other person's frame of reference. Fortunately, you attract a diplomatic partner who knows not to contradict you directly, but uses tact to maneuver and lead you. Scorpio The influence of Scorpio in the seventh house suggests much energy devoted to social relationships, especially the marriage. There is almost a compulsion for partnership of some kind, whether in business or personal life. You are likely to be attracted to partners possessing creative expression and the power to get things done. Marital relations may be marked with possessiveness and periodic battles of will. You consider success in partnership a personal challenge. There is much compulsiveness and force associated with marriage and partnerships, and your mate may be inwardly powerful and dynamic. Sagittarius The Sagittarius influence in the seventh house suggests a reluctance to be hemmed in by marriage or other formal partnership entrapments. This hesitancy to be tied down is a result of concern for growth. When you do marry it's likely to be somewhat later than most. You'll require a good deal of freedom and flexibility. Fortunately, you'll often attract a mate who also shares this need for liberty. Marriage does usually come because of your need for companionship, more than a need for sex and mothering, or security. With Jupiter ruling the marriage house, this becomes another area of the chart that is blessed with good fortune. There is a freedom seeking quality to your quest from marriage. You are attracted to a partner that is very independent and free-wheeling. Capricorn Capricorn influence on the seventh house denotes a certain shyness and reserve, and a definite caution and restraint in forming partnerships. Marriage may be for status and security as much as for love. You are not one to be quick or impulsive in such matters. There is a tendency for you to feel restricted by the duties of wedlock or of any partnership. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, the planet of restrictions and responsibility. Capricorn relates to restrictions and you are likely to be required to carry more than your share of the responsibilities. You attract partners that want or need your nurturing support. The Saturn type as a mate is the parent figure, who is there to give a solid base, be supportive and responsible. Yours is likely to be a relationship that is very nurturing to both you and your partner. You are mutually supportive to each other, and to others with whom you come in contact. Aquarius The Aquarius influence in the seventh house suggests a drive for independence in relationships. It often shows a degree of trouble on this account. You are inclined to pick a partner who, like yourself, is highly individualistic and independent. You attempt, nonetheless, to keep a tight rein on your mate, though you may insist on maintaining much of your personal freedom. You're the sort who wants to have your way, to do what you want, when you want. This attitude doesn't lend itself very much to marriage unless you can find a spontaneous person who can adapt to your style. A mutual understanding must be reached. Partners will be friends, and the most fruitful relationships for you are likely to be those that remain detached, and those in which the two of you are not so demanding upon one another. Pisces The Pisces influence on this house shows the difficulty that can be experienced in partnership and marital relations. Relating with others is not easy for you. It's necessary for you to find a sympathetic mate who will soothe your frayed nerves and commiserate with you about your problems. When you do, you are willing to make sacrifices to benefit the union. Often, the Pisces influence on the house of relationships inclines toward a partnership with a person having opposite traits. Rather than a practical, common sense person like yourself, you may choose someone very intuitive and visionary. Thus, in any partnership arrangement, you are the one to provide the organizing influence. Your partner helps you expand your horizons to new fields. Sometimes, this sign suggests the single life-style. You may have an innate moreResolved Question: please help with history. 10 points best answer?

I know that some countries also offer group-rate insurance as a job perk, but many of the free, rich, industrialized democracies of the world have public health care (with a private option, just as we have public and private education), but why don't they follow our lead and tie the health insurance to employment? That way business owners will have to take this into consideration; we can keep people from freelancing or starting their own, small rival businesses; people with pre-existing conditions will seek out jobs based mainly on the benefits offered. Why won't Australia or The Netherlands or Ireland or Norway or Taiwan do this? You can keep a worker in his place if he has a pre-existing condition, "Oh, so you don't want to work on Saturday, well, let's see, I remember you mentioned that you suffer from.....now, if you don't come to work this Saturday, I can fire you, and you'll have to pay out of pocket for Cobra or private health insurnace, and with your condition, you'll either get denied or charged more than you will ever earn per month, so, your @ss is mine, buddy, now do what I say, or lose both your job and your health insurance!" Tying health insurance to full-time employment is a smart idea. It keeps workers in line, they don't rebel if they know that if they quit or get fired, they could end up with no health insurance as group rates, provided by corporate pools, are their main way of getting any insurance and not being turned down or charged more than they earn per month. Why don't Switzerland and Australia and Luxembourg do this, too? They could totally keep their workers in check. moreResolved Question: Christians what are ten things you can find with these statements?
Vilification of homosexuality, resulting in discrimination, parents disowning their children, murder, and suicide. People and animals sacrificed as an offering to gods. Food destroyed because it doesn't comply with specific religious beliefs. Women treated like second class citizens, or even slaves, based on religious teachings. Children growing up without music. Children growing up to hate and fear science and scientists, because science disproves their parents' religion - leading to appalling scientific illiteracy. Tens of thousands tortured and killed as witches (a practice which still continues today). Millions of cats killed in the belief that witches use them as familiars, leaving rats free to spread the black death throughout Europe, killing millions of people in turn. People bothered and sometimes woken up by door-to-door religion salespeople. People dying because they believe their faith makes them immune to snake venom, or other lethal aspects of reality. People dying - and letting their children die - because their religion forbids accepting medical help. People choked, starved, poisoned, or beaten to death during exorcisms. Female genital mutilation endorsed by religious texts. Psychological and physiological conditions blamed on demons, preventing believers from seeking medical care. People disowning family members for leaving their religion, in some cases symbolized by mock funerals. Friendships and romances severed or never started over religious differences. "Abstinence-only" sex education, resulting in five times the amount sexually transmitted diseases and teenage pregnancies - often leading to ill-fated "emergency" marriages. Campaigns against safe sex, with similar results - responsible for much of the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Women having septic abortions -- or being forced to have unwanted children they resent -- because religious organizations have gotten laws passed making abortion illegal or inaccessible. Censorship (often destructive) of speech, art, books, music, films, poetry, songs and, if possible, thought. The discouragement of rational, critical thought. Believers whipping, impaling, poisoning or crucifying themselves during religious festivals as a demonstration of their faith and piety. Children spending the period of their lives when the brain is most receptive to learning new information reading, rereading, and even memorizing religious texts. People who believe the world is about to end neglect their education, are not financially responsible, and in extreme cases take part in mass suicides. Environmental issues ignored because of beliefs that God will magically fix everything. Wives told they will be tortured forever if they leave their abusive husbands. People in times of trouble relying on advice from religious leaders without any sort of training in counseling or therapy. Holy wars - followers of different faiths (or even the same faith) killing each other in the name of their (benevolent, loving and merciful) gods. The destruction of great works of art considered to be pornographic/blasphemous, and the persecution of the artists. Persecution/punishment of blasphemers (Salman Rushdie still has a death sentence on him), and blasphemy laws in general. Slavery condoned by religious texts. Children traumatized by vivid stories of eternal burning and torture to ensure that they'll be too frightened to even question religion. Terminal patients in constant agony who would end their lives if they didn't believe it would result in eternal torture. School boards having to spend time and money and resources on the fight to have evolution taught in the schools. Persecution of Heretics/scientists, like Giordano Bruno (burned at the stake) and Galileo Galilei. Blue laws forcing other businesses to stay closed so churches can generate more revenue. Mayors, senators, and presidents voted into office not because they're right for the job, but because of their religious beliefs. Abuse of power, authority and trust by religious leaders (for financial gain or sexual abuse of followers and even children) - but hey, atheists are the immoral ones. People accepting visual and auditory hallucinations unquestioningly as divine, sometimes with fatal results. Suicide bombers, who are certain they will be rewarded in heaven. Discrimination against atheists, such as laws stating they may not hold public office or testify in court. Missionaries destroying/converting smaller, "heathen" religions and cultures. Hardship compounded by the guilt required to reconcile the idea of a fair god with reality ("why is God punishing me? What have I done wrong? Don't I have enough faith?"). Human achievements - from skillful surgery to to emergency landings - attributed to gods instead of to the people actually responsibl moreResolved Question: Why did China get involved in North Korea during the Korean War?
This might seem bigoted, seeing as I have never taken any history courses in my life, only been reading things here and there. And I've never learned much about asian history. I was just wondering why did china get involved? Were there any ulterior motives? Did they want something from North Korea? Did they have something against the US? It seems that the US and Russia were already involved, that's why Korea was split after 1945, and then China decided to fight for North Korea and the UN for South Korea. It seems that there wouldn't have been such a big war if China hadn't become involved because it seems that since China started fighting, after North Koreans were trying to invade South, and US was pushing them back, and then China started helping the North...and then the US sent more troops there and the UN got involved. I know I'm not completely clear on that stuff. What I'm confused about is what the view is about what the Chinese did? I have a lot of Korean friends and they seem really hostile and bitter about China "invading" North Korea. Wasn't North Korea made to be a Communist country already due to the Russians placing a Communist leader to lead the country? The view in the Western side that we learn is obviously US was trying to do the right thing, fight the communists, remain democratic... Is the view that if China hadn't "helped" out that North Korea would be free and not still segregated the way it is today? Because it doesn't seem like China started the whole thing, it was the nuclear war between Russia and US, yet there's a lot of animosity between Chinese and South Koreans. The way I see it is that US and Russia were being selfish, dividing up the country without consulting the Koreans at all, while both sides only wanted to be unified. As well as the Communists in North Korea also caused this US and Russia conflict, even though a country's business should be left up to that country unless there's a morality/human rights line being crossed. If China hadn't intervened, what would have the outcome been? Would the communist forces in North Korea been strong enough to overcome South Korea? I know the Chinese leader was getting pressure from USSR and North Korea to help. Any SERIOUS answers would be appreciated. If you have an angry response, go ahead, I don't mean to offend anyone though. Just want to know some history. If you have personal opinions, I guess I'd like to hear them. I just want to see where it can lead but i would like to set up the web site for free or very little. how do i go about doing this or where do i even start with the process..im so lost and cant seem to figure out where to begin. moreVoting Question: Lost and not sure what to do?
5 years ago I met someone and they became my best friend. We spoke all the time about all and everything. We had a close connection and I trust him. Although he was married we still talked even when she did not want him to. Eventually despite our strength we both realized there was more there. One thing lead to the other and well you know. In 2008 we moved in together, at the same time he lost his job. I became the main provider for him and his 3 children. I did everything as if those were my children and as if we were all a family, like I recalled when I grew up. He divorced and I thought things we be okay for us. While he was married to her he would always play a lot of games, mostly to her. He would delete my messages or my calls thinking she would never know but she did because she looked up his records. There is even times she would take his phone and see that I sent a message and respond. When we moved in together and stated what I thought was our life together, I found that I was suddenly ont he other end of that. That even though they were divorced and "I was his only one" he was not always honest with me about his conversations with her. If I would ask, "did you ask what time she would be here for the kids." he would say no. Only for me to later see he did talk with her. That only brought up another argument or two. The first him saying I didn't talk with her I texted her and I did not talk to her about the time so I was honest. But I find it deceitful I truly think the better answer would have been, "Crap no, I forget when I was talking to her about this..." He does not think it is deceitful and although he admitted he has hidden from me like he did her he feels it is not wrong. That he is protecting me. Am I wrong for thinking when you are in a relationship with someone and tell that person you want to spend your life with them that you do all you can to protect them, care for them, and respect them? I mean I took on a huge responsibility caring for his kids in several different ways. I wake to take them to school, I pay for the roof over their head etc. I have been doing this for the last two years. I just want to be respected, as I deserve. I always thought in relationships that you share all with your partner and hide nothing. That everything that happens to each other is the others business. That you truly become one. I told him the other night that I did not want to deal with his high school games or deceit and I deserved to be respected and loved. And that his words meant nothing to me anymore because I could not trust them. He said I was in the wrong that I had no right checking on him when I did not trust his word. When I asked what was so important he talked with her about that he could just be honest with me about, that he took his free time from when the kids were in bed to text her when he could of text me. He told me it was to see if any flooding back east affected her family. I asked him briefly why he concerned himself of that and he replied because it affects the kids. That is where I got lost, that family he speaks of are like her aunts and cousins. His kids hardly know them and never visit back there. How can that effect his kids, they are not directly involved. I merely stated that if anything was to happen that would effect the kids I am sure she would advise you and go from there. I told him I felt it was him reaching out to still have a connection with her about her family when he barely asks me of mine. Was I wrong? Am I wrong for thinking I deserve more from him with all I am giving? More from someone who says they truly love me? moreResolved Question: Do you think I did the right thing for cutting it off this soon?
So this guy I met at work, we've been kinda talking at work, he would call me randomly, and we would start the talk w/ business but it leads to other things. He is married for and his wife is expecting right now, and just got engaged and completely happy to get married. We are constantly flirting and calling each other all day at work, and he calls me when he's out late, and calls me when he gets any free moment at work. Its weird because we've both never felt like this before w/ someone else. I had to tell him that this has to end now, there are too many things that we are risking, and hurting innocent people. Its fun, and cute, and maybe even real hot and sexy, but i can picture the diaster if it goes too far. What do you think? Did i do the right thing to end it now? its been about 6 weeks. moreResolved Question: Republicans: Would you prefer a return to the type of society and economy we had between 1945 and 1980?
On average, the United States had little national debt and enjoyed a budget surplus which allowed us to be the World's Lender. Our industries were the envy of the World, our exports strong and our trade deficit non-existent. During this time under the Republican President Dwight Eisenhower we started a World Class freeway system that was paid for with real, not borrowed, money. Our middle class was strong and our schools some of the best in the World. Most of our large industries, such as steel makers, auto manufactuers and airlines offered defined benefit pension programs which allowed workers to retire with security and dignity. We were energy independent for most of these years and enjoyed the benefits of low cost gasoline and electricity. Most small business such as restaurants, retail outlets, hardware stores, office suppliers and such were locally owned and operated companies. Our clothing, appliances and automobiles were produced in this country by American workers. Of course, this all came at a price. Marginal tax rates on very high incomes exceeded 75% at times. Corporate tax structure was different, discouraging the formation of mega-retailers such as Walmart and restaurant chains such as Taco Bell and Burger King. Auto loans were restricted to no more than 36 months, causing people to live more within their means. Or do you prefer the post 1980's with the Reagan tax cuts which lead to the first large budget deficits? Do you prefer the post 1980's with a steady decline in middle class income with its attendent increase in consumer debt? Are you more satisfied with more modern times, working for less real money than your father did? Do you enjoy having to work for 5 or more years to pay for the same transportation that your father paid for in two or three years? This is not a strictly political question but one of lifestyle preference. Is the remote possibility that you may someday earn multi-million dollar incomes worth the reality of an almost certain decline in real income and securitythat your parent's enjoyed? Or would you prefer the almost certain prospect that if you get a good education and work hard that you can live a comfortable middle class lifestyle, free of debt and with the means to provide security to your family and afford a good education for your children? No Kevin. I have just been on the planet longer than you. moreResolved Question: Are they pushing for socialist/communist takeover of farms next?
Yahoo has up a ABC newstory on the "outrage" over the destruction of strawberry crops in Florida? I'm sure you know people who will starve to death now that there are less strawberries available. When there is a glut of food production, either the government buys it up to send overseas, or it rots because shipping/distribution costs outweigh any profit for the farmer. My grandparents had to dump peas and potatoes in the woods during the last depression because they couldn't afford to ship them. Now ABC is harping on this "anger" they found speaking to a couple of people at a free meal center who felt the government should takeover the situation. In teh early 1800's the british government felt teh need to closely regulate food production, the had the "corn Laws", taxes on bread, etc. and it wa sonly these policies and taxes which forced people to rely on potatoes for most of their diet, the real blight on the population was their government, not a virus on potato plants. This is one reason they aren't suppose dto tax food here, farmers are supposed to be exempt, but property taxes, inheritance taxes, and the taxes which raised the cost of everything they buy, especially energy needs, the ethanol nonsense raising feed crop prices on dairy/meat producers and causing scarcity of other crops, the list goes on and on of ways the government is putting our farmers out of business, while opening the doors to cheap questionable foods from overseas. Farmer's markets have become to popular, so the government wants to clamp down on anyone who sells so much as a drop of milk, a potato or berry to someone else. Right now they are trying to put cooperative farms, where everyone works for a share of produce, under USDA control. I'm not trying to rabble rouse, I'm trying to warn you, nationalization of farms leads to starvation, grow your own food, learn how to preserve it, and store it safely, yes I mean "hoard". moreResolved Question: EWW RAW come pick who wins?

I'll have you decide by my complaints of both parties, that also talk about what I believe Complaints about Liberals: Government/cigarettes - you cry for less government but want the government to intervene in your everyone's life, like banning flavored cigarettes...that bones the right of free-market, while you're at it ban beer to. With that logic, you might as well ban everything that's appealing to youngsters with ONLY minor potentials to get into bad habbits, like movies with guns or even cartoons, correct me if I'm wrong, but that IS government controlling people's personal lives. Besides, what ever happened to parents? Gun Control - Yes there should be some type of control with guns, but very limited. It's going against the amendment. It's protection. If guns are out of reach and you get robbed (because gun control won't stop thugs from getting guns, I know this, I used to live in the "hood", the only person to save you would be cops, you're dead by then. The good guys need guns to protect ourselves from bad guys.If you don't like guns, don't buy them, but don't tell me I can't Soda - just because you drink soda excessively and can't take care of your teeth/body, don't make the people who can drink soda responsibly stop or try and tax it. Racial Issues - Just because people's families were racist jerks to each other some generations back doesn't mean I have to apologize to non-whites my whole life. There's no reason for me to, because I'm not racist. Death Penalty - I shouldn't even have to explain this. If you pity a murderer/rapist, you're sad. There has to be some kind of extreme to prevent this, making the death penalty illegal won't make murderers and rapists stop, it will increase the crime rate!!! They already kill/rape as it is, while KNOWING they could get a death penalty if they get caught. (not that many)Complaints About Conservatives Gays - Just mind your own business, not one religion owns the right of marriage, they all just do it.. You guys act like there's some "religion headquarters" that says they're messing up the religions. That's like me saying you can't eat tortillas because the mexican/native indian people invented it, so you're disrespecting their culture. Marijuana - Sorry to sound like a hippie, but It's not a drug, it's a plant. You can't OD from it no matter how much you smoke. It's scientifically proven that it's almost harmless and in some cases healthy. If your argument is "we can't have people high all the damn time" well, I could say "we can't have people drunk all the time", it's a matter of making sure people are smart with it, just like we have all the laws with alcohol. And besides I've never smoked with friends and woke up and have they say "dude, you know what you did last night? you banged an ugly fat chick, got in a fight with a bum and pissed yourself" - *AHEM* alcohol *ahem* (I like drinking btw) Nationalism - Now this one doesn't tic me off, it's just really annoying. There is nothing wrong with loving your country, but some people get so crazed they almost have this militant nationalism...that can lead to bad things. We don't own the world, europeans aren't as bad as you think, just calm down. It's so bad that some people have gone to other countries waving american flags saying how bad their country sucks....I'm serious. But I'm for freedom, so if you wanna get that crazy over your country, that's your choice....it's just annoying Religion - Believe what you want, just don't force it down my throat or go around acting like your religion is the only one that exists or more "correct." I could go on and on, but I'll stop here. Remember, just complaints/opinions, don't take it too seriously.Btw, I know this more of a rant than a question, so what, sue me, it's still in question form moreResolved Question: What is going to happen to the political climate if this bill passes?
Everybody in the entire country has gotten involved in the argument, most people are against it, and they are passing it anyway. They are trying to make it sound like an extension of freeing the slaves and civil rights, but I just don't see it. This is really just a bad economic idea, based on the false belief that insurance companies are the cause of all the problems. If I was a republican in Congress I would be irate, and unwilling to work with democrats on anything. The entire process was a disaster, and the democrats are trying to rub it in the face of everyone else. It isn't even about doing what makes sense, they are just trying to win and piss people off. I'm not even that hard core of a Republican, and I support plenty of ideas Democrats support. Because of this specific bill, I have a lot of anger towards Obama. I have lost all respect for him. It is not that our views differ, I understand people have different views and beliefs. It is that he is an ideologue who is willing to stop at nothing, to force major changes nobody wants except for him. He isn't the owner of a business, who is an elected official who is supposed to represent the people. He is basically doing what he wants to do, and he is ignoring the people. If they keep doing this, I would suspect this could lead to social unrest in this country. moreResolved Question: Any Shooting Range Owners From Florida?
In the part of Florida that I live, there is only one range with four stalls. It is expensive as well as run down. People go there only because they have no other place to go within a 50 mile radius. I decided I want to open a range myself and have already obtained so much data that my head is spinning, yet I still have some questions I am having trouble getting answered. I have the Florida State Statutes, County Codes and Zoning, The NRA Range Sourcebook (in the mail), USAF ETL 08-11: Small Arms Range Design and Construction, the EPA CFRs for lead, and have a couple of properties I am looking at in my area that meet code and would be large enough to suffice the range. The range will be an outdoor range that has 50m (X5), 100 m (X5), 300 m(X3), and 1000 m (X2) lanes that will have use a dirt backstop accompanied by a cement block wall. The range will allow for ammunition from .22 cal to .50 cal. Other than delivery of dirt my brother, cousin, dad, and friend will assist me in the construction of the stalls, measuring the Surface Danger Zone/Vertical Danger Zone, backstops, and targets. My cousin and myself are going to Orlando to become Range Safety Officers for insurance purposes. As business takes off I will be adding a skeet shoot and a tactical/obstacle course with pop-up targets and CQB scenarios, but those are not in the making yet (not until I have an established business). The building where business will be conducted will need to have retail space for accessories, gear, ammo, and guns for sale/rent (I have an application for an FFL but until I have a location of business I cannot send it in). I will also need a 125ft X 125ft room for conducting NRA, CCW, and security courses as well as offer free hunting courses (All but the hunting courses will be taught by either myself or my cousin). A bathroom and breakroom are requirements for a security training facility in my state. I know what is needed by the county, state, EPA, and BATFE in regards to licensing and regulations for the range and firearms, what I am not sure of is the business aspect. I was hoping someone who owns a range in Florida could help answer the few questions that I have left. Q1: I know the average mark-up for firearms and accessories in the area, but how can I find the cost of the firearms and accessories (wholesale/dealers price) or of any price breaks for bulk orders? The distributors will not talk to me until I have my FFL and I cannot get my FFL without a place for business and I cannot get a place of business without a business loan from a bank. Due to the economy and my age, 24, I am going to have to go to the bank with a DETAILED business plan and explain how they will get there money back. Q2: How do you pay a business loan back? Do you pay monthly payments (i.e. mortgage/car payment) or do you pay in back in a lump some with in so many years? If so what is the time frame it is to be paid back in? Q3: Do you know of any good insurance companies to cover my business (in Florida) and if so how much does it cost? Again they will not talk to me until I have a business. Q4: How much do lead removal services cost? The EPA mandates that a company has to come and remove lead from my dirt back stops and I'm sure it is not free. If I have the equipment am I allowed to do it myself? Q5: If you own an outdoor range in Fl, do you mind telling me an estimated cost of construction supplies for your outdoor range? Q6: I am looking a buying a large piece of land and I'm probably not going to find one with a building on it that suits my needs. Any ideas/suggestions on new construction vs. other options I am unaware of such as portable buildings (if they have them) Q7: What are the state and federal taxes (estimate of course) for running such a business in FL? Please, refrain from JUST telling me that this is an expensive business and that it will fail. I now that it will be expensive and that is why I need a DETAILED business plan for the bank. I am hoping for help with the few financial questions left to determine the over all cost and revenue I will need to acquire. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I appreciate and look forward to any responses. moreResolved Question: Do free markets inevitably lead to corporatism?
By corporatism, I mean the collaboration between big business and government to help private business maximize profits and to protect corporate interests. Do free markets inevitably lead to this, or are there examples of free markets that do not lead to corporatism? moreResolved Question: Do you see what the "Revolving door" of Illegal aliens, deported, coming back, deported again costs us?
Failure to Uphold Immigration Laws Leads to the Death of a Deputy Sheriff Written by Ronald W. Mortensen - CIS.org Tuesday, 26 January 2010 02:01 During the past several months, I have commented on the failure of law enforcement officials to enforce the nation's immigration laws, thereby giving illegal alien criminals an advantage that they should not have. Law enforcement officials argue that they have to give illegal aliens a pass for violating immigration laws in order to gain their confidence and support. While this may work in some cases, it also leaves violent, criminal illegal aliens free to go about their business. The most recent example of this can be found in a rural area in western Utah where an illegal alien has been accused of killing a female deputy sheriff. The accused killer's immigration status should not have gone unnoticed in the small community where everyone knows everyone else. After all, he had been deported multiple times and been arrested twice for illegally reentering the United States. He had even served jail time for illegal entry. In addition, he was a known drug dealer and had sold drugs to the brother of the deputy sheriff only minutes before he killed her. His MySpace page showed him with firearms even though both as a convicted felon and an illegal alien he was not allowed to possess firearms. He was apparently able to readily find employment with dairy farmers in the area even though he was not authorized to work in the United States. This is a tragedy that did not have to happen. Had the accused killer served his first prison term of 15 years rather than being released and deported after just 14 months, or had he been given the maximum sentence for reentry into the United States, he would not have been back in the community. Had the federal government controlled the border, he would not have been in the United States. Had the sheriff and other law enforcement officials sought the assistance of immigration authorities, they could have arrested the accused murderer at any time for illegally reentering the United States and he could have been sentenced to a long prison term. Had anyone viewing the MySpace page of the accused killer reported his illegal possession of firearms to law enforcement, he could have been arrested. Had local dairy farmers used E-Verify rather than turning a blind eye to his illegal status, he would not have been able to find work and may have left the area. And had citizens of the community truly understood that illegal aliens routinely commit multiple felonies to get jobs and that they foster a culture of corruption, they may have been less accommodating to the illegal aliens in their midst. There is enough blame to go around in this case, but it is inexcusable for law enforcement officials to let a known illegal alien continue to live and work in their jurisdiction. Had they just used the immigration laws that are already on the books, they may have saved the life of one of their own. moreTop Free Business Lead Links
