Aine Osborne, Datapac

Aine Osborne has been promoted to the position of marketing communications manager at Datapac Information Technologies and Business Solutions, with responsibility for the development, management and execution of all marketing strategies and the management of the marketing team.

Prior to taking up this position, Osborne was senior marketing executive with the company for seven years. Before this, she worked as marketing officer with Commonwealth Bank and American Express in Sydney, Australia for one year.

Osborne holds a BA in business studies (service marketing) from the Carlow Institute of Technology and is currently studying for a master's of business studies (marketing). She is a graduate of the Marketing Institute of Ireland.

Brulant, online marketing firm, purchased by Rosetta

Brulant Inc., an online marketing company in Beachwood that became one of Northeast Ohio's Internet-age success stories, has been sold to a New Jersey marketing firm called Rosetta.

Brulant founder Len Pagon broke the news to employees in dramatic fashion Wednesday evening, renting a theater inside the Cleveland Playhouse.

With some 300 local Brulant employees seated in the audience, Pagon stepped through an on-stage door and proceeded to introduce Rosetta founder Chris Kuenne, who was hiding behind his own door.

Pagon made it clear that no workers were going to lose their jobs and that the business would continue to grow, said Kate Clegg, a Brulant partner and senior vice president of marketing.

There had been rumors and rumblings of something going on with Brulant, so it wasn't a moment of great surprise, Clegg said. more

Sciele Pharma, Inc. Reports Results for the Second Quarter of 2008

Sciele began marketing Prandin in the first quarter of 2008. Prandin's dollarized total prescriptions increased 13% in the second quarter of 2008 over the second quarter of 2007, according to IMS Health NPA data. Novo Nordisk's NDA for PrandiMet was approved by the FDA in June 2008. Sciele expects to launch this product in the U.S. by the end of 2008.

Total prescriptions for the Company's fenofibrate family of products increased 10% in the second quarter of 2008 over the second quarter of 2007, according to IMS Health NPA data.

Big business takes the wheel in race against road toll

The leading cause of death among Queenslanders aged 16 to 25 is road crashes, while 14 per cent of young drivers crash within their first year.

These sorts of startling statistics have prompted one Australian company to offer free driving lessons to 500 Queensland students to help lower the road toll.

Education Minister Rod Welford was today scheduled to launch the Leighton Contractors Youth Drive Safe Initiative at Ferny Grove State High School.

The initiative will provide five hours of free driving lessons to senior students at 10 South-East Queensland high schools over the next six months.

At the launch, Mr Welford hailed the program as an ideal way for an Australian company to "give back to the community".

"Anything we can do to better educate and inform our young road users is a step in the right direction and I call on other companies to follow Leighton Contractors' lead and think about how they can give back to their communities," Mr Welford said. more
