'Let business import rice'

TWO business leaders yesterday said the government must give businessmen a free hand to import rice to prevent a rice supply crisis that is already brewing in Metro Manila.

Robert Go, former president of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and governor of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said giving business owners the permit to import rice can create competition, which is the easiest way to avert any crisis that could lead to higher prices.

Anything that creates competition will surely bring down rice prices and will prevent people involved in rice cartels from hoarding, he said.

The Philippine Government, one of the worlds biggest rice importers, assured a jittery public last week that it is taking steps to secure enough supplies, amid surging prices and tight stocks worldwide. more

How To Open Up Your Own Tutoring Business Questions asked

Resolved Question: So. I'm running away from home? and need some advice?

I dropped out of junior high when I was 14 (in 8th grade). I just turned 17 last month. My life isn't going anywhere and I need to get out of here. I've been on and off depression episodes since I was 10. And have finally decided to do something for myself to change that; for better of for worst. I don't have a dad, he left when I was 7. My mom is a good person but a sh-tty mother. All she cares about is her cats and her business. Kids come last. When she pulled me out of school she said she would get me a tutor and home school me. But she has made no effort to start homeschooling me, or put me back in school. I don't think she cares at all. She is very evasive on the subject. If I confront her, we end up fighting and she repeats the same story over and over; how I never help her clean the house, and how her business if failing and her employees steal from her. etc etc. You guys have no idea how difficult she is to deal with. I'm starting to think she actually doesn't want be me move out. Maybe its because she's not married and is scared to be left alone because I'm the only one she has. I love her, but I'm not going to let her ruin my life. My older sister fell behind in school too. But she did graduate a couple of years late. She struggled with depression too. Attempted suicide once. And ran away from home when she was 16 to go live with her boyfriend at his parent's house who lived 4 hours away in another city. Which was the best thing she had ever did because she is still with him and his parents are paying for her to go to college right now. But I don't have anyone and probably wont go to college. I'll try to graduate high school, but, who knows. So here is my plan; bring backpack full of stuff. Steal some money from mom. Pocket knife just in case. Get my license. Buy a greyhound bus ticket. Try to get a bank account and save up as much extra money as I can to get my own place. Live on the streets, or with someone if I can for a year until I'm 18 and get my own place. Once I have my own place, try to get back in school. There are programs you can go to that will allow you to graduate school in 2 years instead of 4 years. Do that, graduate when I'm 20. And pray to fcking God I'll have a chance to get into college when I'm 21. Money; my mom is an eye doctor who owns her own business. I already have a head start because I know how to make glasses. So I plan on working as a lab tech in an optometrist office. It pays about 12$ an hour. Which is not bad. But I acknowledge the fact I might have to become a prostitute, especially in the first few months. I have some questions though. Can you guys help me out? How do you get a drivers license? Can you go by yourself without a parent? Where would be the best place/ city to run away to? (I live in texas, but it doesn't have to be in texas) Do I bring my birth certificate with me? To get a job? How old do you have to be to open up your own back account? What is the legal age to run away? Since im 17, will the cops be able to drag me back? Anything that I haven't thought of?Yes, anil p, my mom has drivin me absolutely bat shxt fcking insane. To the edge, I cannot take this any more. She will not cooperate with me, refusing to help me at all. I'm desperate to get out of here.My mom does not 'nag' me. She WONT ALLOW ME TO MOVE FORWARD IN LIFE!! dont you people read? more

Resolved Question: starting my own business? and tips?

alright, so have you guys ever heard of who were 16 and starting their own internet store? I have. well I think she used her sister's credit card because they shared the company. But I really want to start my own business. I'm also only 15. ): but, I will be turning 16 in June. I know its alot of research and planning. I took business classes I know all the stuff that goes into a business. But I was never taught on how to personally open my own business. My parents are going to get me a credit card when and if I have every last bit of this down on paper and completely planned out. I really want to do this and its not just for spending money. My brother blew almost my entire college fund and I don't wanna be strugling in college too badly. I'm not going to have any problem with help because I have got LOADS of support.Oh yeah, and I am SUPER smart in math. like no joke, I was helping my brother with HIS college homework idk but It's like I can do any math lol but I seem to be horrid in Spanish ha but anyway! (Before you read those, I've actually heard of a tutoring business, but I really don't know if they will hire a 15 yr old. because they are like all adults lol. But I understand most of the material, but anyway) Here are some Ideas about starting a business into: 1. I'm REALLY into horses and I was wondering about a sort of horse tack, barrel racing tack, sort of thing. But make my designs very pretty, girly, and equally as masculine(as in seperate girls and guys tack) I'm not much of a designer but I have a couple of friends who can draw like theres no tomorrow and I'm pretty sure I can get what I'm thinking down on paper. Bad thing about this is, there is another more popular store just like mine,BUT I also stable one of my horses and an official NBHA(national barrel horse association) site and that would do LOADS for my business I would think. But it wouldn't just be barrel tack, I would also do roping (cool colored ropes perhaps?), bull riding, etc. 2. A t-shirt, jewelry, trinket business. possibly even including horses, and I have no worries about inventory space whats so ever, I can even sell my products at the farmers market "more like a bring-your-small-business markey" every thursday right by my school. 3. I'm also into volleyball. Mabey a store with cute volleyball shirts, a large variety of colored spandex( a girl on a traveling team on my school team says they are super popular) mabey even cute colored volleyballs and knee pads, shoes, high socks, shoe laces, etc. 4. This could even be a part of the horse category, but Include other animals. Mabey even cute little doggy clothes, also for cats, ferrets, etc., cute fishy jars, cool cat toys, I really could go on and on and on about any of these topics lol 5. ooohhh and even purses, watches, jewelry, for both men and women. this could easily go into the above topics. 6. I could also make infant toys, baby items, and clotheing. which could, once again, be added into the above topics lol but yeah, these are some topics I'm seriously considering. Main Points: 1. The topics above are things I'm really interested in and would have a real drive in. 2. I'm doing this for college funding, but am certainly not going to quit after college. 3. I understand it takes alot, but I'm ready for the challenge even if I have to wait a year. 4. I have A LOT of support and will have no problem with help of starting it up. Thanks guys and gals (:um seriously? get back to the Ghetto? I didn't mean to say I knew EVERYTHING, but I know the stuff, yeah I'm not gonna lie. I actually just looking for tips and ideas, I mean, seriously, grow up. Your probly a 37 year old man, sitting in your moms computer room, complaining on yahoo answers as I type. Get a life, I'm looking for answers, not douchebags with REALLY bad insults. Oh and btw, at least I'm doing something with my life, so back. off.and If you even read the thing, you would know I'm 15. and I'm not the only one in this. but whatever, you are so not worth my time. and guys, I'm not interested at all in any of the working with google, or surveys, things of that sort.lol so I must be "stoned" to want to start a business? lol wow people seriously kill me. theres millions of people just like me who want to start a business but are too afraid to ask questions. lol why even take the time to click on my question, read it (considering its very long), and even type in a rude answer. haha wow if there is one thing I will never be, is a loser who hates her life and uses the internet as a lame way to get back at the world. can't say it enough, but won't stop. grow up lol (its even funnier how people think they affect me) I'm not the average 15 yr. old. Suck it.lol see a physciatrist? hahaha I recommend YOU see a physciatrist because you obviously need help with your little issue of false satisfaction of "getting" to complete strangers. lol grow up seriously. more

Resolved Question: Is this a great music idea or what?

I have a grand backround in piano and music production. I have a BA degree in teaching and minor in music. I have been producing in the record industry. I live in NY. 33 yrs old. I enjoy customizing antique vehicles. I want to combine my interests all in 1. I have come up with this idea. Tell me everything you think about it and any advice, suggestions or criticisms you have. Thanks Here it is, I dont have alot of money , i rent a apartment and am not aloud to have a business in here on the lease it says. I want to teach piano lessons, music productions, and piano to all ages, including a disabled handicapped music production and piano lessons class. And also a senior citizens piano class.BUT it will be done in a custom tricked out music studio van on wheels. Picture this, a old ford van with keyboards, laptops, and other music gear on it layed out like a classroom with seats and tables. Maybe 2-3 students at a time. Fancy rims and paint job on the van attracting attention with a security feature in it to guard the gear. Kids can make their own records on there, learn piano lessons, record vocals, and even get additional tutoring for their classes. At the end of the session kids can burn their own songs or tracks and feel satisfied and accomplished. Since kids and also handicapped dont have access to studios , this would be great for them to open the door in the music world so they can stay off the streets and do well in school. 1 parent must be present on the van at all times for legal safety reasons. The van will travel to various neighborhoods and also be rented out for parties and schools too. I like it because there is no over head. Just gas and i can maintain the equipment because i have experience in it. Please share your input, What state should i do this in( i was thinking CA since they have great weather and it wont be cold in the van) How much to charge? And how to market this? And any special rules or instructions i should have? Thanks i apprecate your time on this. Thanks again more
