New rocket aims for space tourism market
Entrepreneurs of the new commercial space age plan to start test flights in 2010 of a practical four-engine rocket ship that will take people on Mach 2 thrill rides up to 200,000 feet and which also has the interest of the Air Force.
The design of the Lynx rocket was shown off Wednesday by Xcor Aerospace, a Mojave, Calif.-based company that has spent nine years developing rocket engines.
Fueled by liquid oxygen and kerosene, the two-seat ship - a bit more slender than a small executive jet - is intended to operate like an airliner, making up to four flights a day while using runways for takeoffs and landings like a normal airplane.
CEO Jeff Greason withheld specifics of costs and technical details at a news conference but said he was certain investors will finance construction of the Lynx, which he estimated from will cost "south of $10 million," not including previous development costs. more

Mumbai remains a target one year on from a deadly militant attack, experts say, calling for more to be done to improve security in the city and elsewhere in India to prevent another strike. "Can 26/11 happen again? Yes, any time," warned retired Major General V.K. Datta, India's most decorated army officer, referring to the November 26 attacks that killed 166 people and injured more than 300 last year. The acting head of Maharashtra state police, A.N. Roy, said greater vigilance and better counter-terrorism measures were vital because Mumbai, the state capital, played a key role in India's economy. His counterpart at Mumbai police, D. Sivanandan, said improvements have been made since the force was found lacking training, equipment and manpower against the 10 heavily armed Islamist gunmen who stormed the city 12 months ago. More police in Mumbai and other Indian cities would provide a more effective first response to any future attack, analysts said, also calling for greater use of technology and better coordination between central and state agencies. "We have not improved our preventive capability," Datta told India Today magazine earlier this month. Home Minister P. Chidambaram, praised for pushing security up the agenda since his appointment late last year, also warned that India is just as vulnerable as before, calling the response to the Mumbai attacks "mixed." In Mumbai itself there have been noticeable changes. Luxury hotels such as the Taj Mahal Palace and Tower, which was targeted by gunmen, has introduced tougher baggage screening and searches, while sandbagged machinegun positions appeared at key locations. A new base for 250 elite National Security Guard commandos -- one of four around the country -- opened in Mumbai after criticism that they only arrived from their north India headquarters 10 hours after the first shots were fired. Both the Maharashtra and Mumbai police have also set up their own rapid reaction forces as part of a 1.3-billion-rupee (28-million-dollar) state government investment in training and equipment. The Mumbai police central control room is being modernised and security cameras installed around the city, Sivanandan told business leaders earlier this month. "As far as the police is concerned, whatever is possible is being done. We have got a long way to go. Give me another 100 crores (one billion rupees) and I will do a lot better than this," he said. Some experts say that after a spate of bombings across India in 2008, the fact there has been no attack in the country in the last 12 months is proof the measures have been effective. But some plans, including a promised improved coastal security system -- seen as vital because the gunmen arrived undetected by sea -- are yet to materialise. Others believe Pakistan's intelligence agency and army, which New Delhi blames for supporting the attacks, are focused on gathering unrest at home rather than sponsoring assaults on their neighbour. Ajai Sahni, executive director of the Institute of Conflict Management and editor of the South Asia Intelligence Review, called the changes in homeland security "nothing more than symbolic." "In terms of actual capacity, response or overall security, there's been no significant change," he told AFP, blaming a lack of political will to tackle the problem effectively. Maharashtra state police's Roy, though, said more had been done than after previous attacks on the city. But he added: "Whereas the terrorists have access to the latest technology, communications and resources, we still are many, many, many steps behind. We are at a very nascent stage." Sahni said boosting police capacity was vital as forces across India are severely understaffed, particularly of experienced senior officers. Currently, enforcement of security measures is difficult because Mumbai has only 48,000 officers for an official population of about 14 million, he added. The central government has said it will recruit 150,000 low-ranking police officers across the country by next March, though some experts say quality police using modern technology should be the biggest priority. Roy told a security conference this month: "Today, we feel much more confident than we were one year ago -- but there is still a long way to go." http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5i4eo2nX0_KwX7N0qaXl9f2MZpZow What do u think about security concerns in india? moreVoting Question: You think the recruiter will be pissed at me coming back?
I went to the Marine recruiter a year and a half ago. I have always wanted to be a Marine. I lost sixty pounds on my own during college and got into great shape. I graduated from college after getting a degree in business. I went to my local Marine recruiting station. I went to MEPs and got a 97 on my ASVAB. The next day the recruiter wanted me to go to medical section of MEPs and wanted me to swear in that day. That's when the weirdness started. They wanted me to swear in open contract, I have a heart murmur and that is quite noticeable. They wanted me to not mention it. A heart murmur can be an automatic DQ at MEPs. The morning he came to pick me up for MEPs I told him no thanks took my paperwork back and he left. They didn't tell me about my career options or the fact that I could become an officer. He called me the next day and I got the voice message from him. I called him back go this voice mail and said thanks in the message but I am not at this time ready to enlist. He called me once or twice after and I didn't respond. I realized how much I wanted to be a Marine. I went out and got a full medical work up including tons of tests from my cardiologist. This is the case study, i need to answr the question from this case study..hep me plz..really stuck.. question: What other reasons may explain the fact that 15 per cent of Domino’s outlets are managed directly by the company rather than by franchees? Domino’s Pizza Group Many people dream about setting up their own restaurant. For somebody who loves food, the prospect of giving up a 9am to 5pm office job and spending all their working life developing new menus may seem irresistible. Sadly, although thousands of people have ventured down the route to becoming a restaurateur, the success rate is low. Estimates vary, but it is generally reckoned that about three quarters of all new restaurants are not a success and close within three years of opening. Large corporate restaurant chains generally succeed better, and it is the sole trader that is particularly likely to face problems. Instead of experimenting with new recipes for beef bourguignon or duck a l'orange, the small restaurant owner is likely to spend much of their time on more mundane matters. Filling out the VAT return, recruiting staff, calculating their income tax and paying their National Insurance contributions, keeping abreast of new legislation concerning minimum wage levels, maternity leave, and disabil¬ity discrimination are all distractions from the kitchen. Then there is the never-ending task of promoting the restaurant. Many restaurateurs think that customers will beat a path to their door, but diners can be fickle, and, as soon as a new restaurant opens in town, they may be off to try it out. With so much to do in simply running the business, it is not surprising that many small restaurateurs become disillusioned and move on. Some fail simply because they haven’t developed a realistic business plan. Many of these could have benefited by belonging to a franchise organization, rather than going it alone. In franchised systems, the franchiser typically provides valuable support for administrative and promotional matters, leaving the franchisee to develop their business. Within the restaurant sector, franchising has been relatively slow to take hold at the gourmet end of the market, where the owner's individuality and style can add to the appeal of a restaurant. But in the convenience food sector, franchising has become popular and allows dedicated individuals to build a secure and profitable business. The Domino's Pizza Group has used the energy of talented and hard-working indi¬viduals to deliver good financial rewards to its franchisees. Although the company's pizzas may not appeal greatly to people who love fine food, its approach to the franchising of food outlets generally offers much more security and profitability than going it alone. In 2004, Domino's reported that ten of its 100-plus UK and Ireland franchisees owned businesses that were worth more than £1,000,000 each. These figures are based on a standard calculation of twice annual turnover. With an average start-up cost of £183,000 this is a significant return on franchisees' initial investment. How many sole traders running their own restaurant could match this? In 2002, Domino's franchisees earned around £120,000 a year on average (although some considerably more), which was more than three times the average income of a typical business manager (£38,1071). Further¬more, no Domino's franchise failed during the year, compared with over 22,000 business failures elsewhere in the UK economy. Domino's research into the skills set and characteristics of the most successful fran¬chisees, both in the UK and internationally, has found that the majority of franchisees believed the traditional corporate management career path failed to offer either the scope to succeed or adequate financial rewards. Typical of the hard-working individuals attracted to a Domino's franchise was James Swift. As a 16-year-old delivery driver for Domino's Pizza, Swift spotted the potential to run his own business at an early age. He soon secured a position as the manager of the Domino's branch in Swindon. This operational experience was critical for learning everything from how to make a pizza to how to manage a big team. It was about three years later that he got the chance to buy a share in the franchise. By the age of 24, he had become co-franchisee of three Domino's outlets in Swindon, Newbury and Bath. He put his success down to sheer hard work and determination, with the backing of a well-known brand and the commitment that only the owner of a business can give. Maybe one day, James Swift will match the success of Richard P. Mueller, Jnr, Domino's Pizza's most successful global franchisee. Mueller joined Domino's in 1967 as a delivery driver and became a franchisee in 1970. By 2003, he owned 158 stores in the USA and employed over 3,000 team members. His company sold over ten million pizzas a year, as many as the entire UK Domino's business. That equated to five million pounds of do moreResolved Question: What do you think about my short story?
Alex Lumberfield was a young man in his twenties, with short, spiked brown hair and deep blue eyes. He always smelled as if he had just come out of the shower, the smell of shampoo thick in the air. Alex was a man with a dream: a dream to become rich. As a result, he quickly realised that farming was not for him. He had once heard that businessmen were the most likely people to earn over seventy thousand pounds. So he decided that was the way for him. After being interviewed several business companies, all of them had turned him down with the same phase; “Unfortunately, we are in no need of another employee”. One of the recruitment managers went even as far as to say; ”You are the lat employee we would ever dream of employing!” She was a tall thin lady in her early sixties. She had a fixed grimace on her face as she interviewed me and her eyes were a pale gray. Alex had been so sure that at least one of the recruiting managers would hire him, that he had sold his old farming house, and replaced it with a one-bedroom flat in central-London As the days passed, and with still no source of income, he began to think about stealing from people to get at least some sort of income… There were of course two problems: he would need to be able to sell the items to someone, and he would have to take a risk of getting caught… Chapter 1 That smell… Oh! That wonderful smell! Standing up, I searched around me for the source of the amazing aroma. Instead, I saw nothing. I could see a few trees in the silvery moonlight, their branches entwined with the silvery strings of light. The icy winds pounded against the earth, flattening the grass. I was alone… As it began to sink in that this mysterious smell would never be revealed; a glistening beam of light appeared in front of me. It drew me in. I was hypnotised by that light. I moved closer to the light, the smell becoming more powerful. I drew in within a few centimetres. Without warning, the beam of light vanished in a blink of an eye. In its place, stood a towering plate of pancakes, each one, a deep golden circle. The smell was extraordinary! Each pancake must have had a different filling inside, each made to perfection. I reached out for a single pancake, my fingers outstretched. My eyes had a look of madness within them. I thought of nothing but seizing one, each as unforgivable as the next. I was suddenly pulled from the mysterious reality; realising once again, that I was in a familiar bed. Each dream was the same, was I destined to become a thief? Or was it a warning? I lay back down and tried to sleep once more. Twisting and turning, I realised it was impossible. Instead, I ended up lying there, thinking about the questions that had formed inside my head… As I thought, the extraordinary aroma filled my nose again. I lifted my head, and glanced out the window, the sun shone intensely in the sky. The birds chirped softly in the woods, behind my small back garden. But the fragrance was still there... I looked around, noticing small streams of vapour, rising into the sky. I quickly identified where the smell was coming from. A steaming plate of apple crumble stood on Miss Ellendale's window ledge. I turned my head sharply, checking to see if Miss Ellendale was in her garden, however there wasn’t a sign of life. Odd, I thought. The garden was normally filled with life. “Maybe she had finally decided to give it a rest?” I said out loud. My stomach gave a lurch, leaving me with ravenous hunger. I leaped into my clothes, silently creeping out of the house. As quietly as possible, I crawled towards Miss Ellendale’s garden, through the alleyway, ready for the perfect apple crumble. I gently pushed open the gate, making sure that Miss Ellendale couldn't see me. As I swiftly took it from its resting place, I saw, just how perfect it was. A deep shade of perfect gold shined off of it, the small crumbles glittered magnificently in the sunlight. As I stood there admiring it, Miss Ellendale‘s voice could be heard, screaming for help. She must have seen me! Without a second thought, I grabbed the apple crumble and sprinted like a gazelle, fleeing rapidly into my house. This was the first thing I ever stole... Chapter 2 I had the same dream again, but this time I actually managed to grab one of the pancakes. The pancake felt like silk in my hands. I tried to take a bite out of it, but the pancake had suddenly become very hard. I looked at it carefully and realised that the pancake become a gold necklace, sparkling in the moonlight. A real, pure gold necklace! My mind was racing. I began thinking how much I could sell it for but then… I woke up in that all to familiar bed. “Why?!” “Why couldn’t that dream have been real?!” Well, in a way it could… I had now worked out the answers to my questions! The feeling of finally solving the puzzle that had been buzzing in my head since yesterday was indescribable. moreResolved Question: Getting Into The Industry..?
I been having this idea of opening a business. I plan on going to school in January, decided on taking business as my major. The theme that I have been stuck on for awhile is getting involved with the adult industry, promoting, producing and recruiting mostly. I'm not sure how to go about with this idea or where to start. Some suggestions and guidance would be greatly appreciated. moreResolved Question: How do you feel about, “As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to?
The Noble “Sacrifice” of Michelle Obama; Update: Chicago & Tokyo Eliminated; Games over, Prepare for Recriminations; It’s Rio By Michelle Malkin • October 2, 2009 09:15 AM Scroll for updates…And the winner is…Rio (Photoshop: Reader Ben) My column commemorates the noble Olympic “sacrifice” of the First Lady in Denmark. Mrs. O’s emotional pitch was supposed to bring tears to the eyes of the audience, according to crony White House Olympics cheerleader Valerie Jarrett. Chicagoans are no doubt shedding tears — over the ballooning costs of a potential win. Allahpundit has the lowdown on the president’s schlocky pitch. Update: 11:34am Eastern. Chicago and Tokyo eliminated. No Obamalympics. Hey, can we close the White House Olympic Czar’s office now? Oh, well: “Chicago counts on Obama oratory to seal 2016 Games.” Goodbye, “Yes We Can.” Hello, “No, You Can’t.” Like Icarus, President Obama’s giddy ego flight has ended with melted wax and fallen wings. This is a big win and a massive relief for taxpayers. But Chicago cronies are not going to take this well. Gird your loins. Who will be first to cry RAAAAAACIST? Well, it will be a little awkward to play the race card after liberal critics of the Games filed a civil rights complaint against the Chicago 2016 committee for racial discrimination yesterday. But count on the Team Obama grievance-mongers to play it anyway. Update 12:08pm Eastern: Video – CNN anchor sputters, “CHICAGO IS OUT? CHICAGO IS OUT?” Update 12:23pm Eastern: Chicago crony White House adviser David Axelrod just now on Fox: “Life goes on.” Axelrod complaining about “relationships and politics that were formidable. And we couldn’t overcome that.” On Twitter, Tony Gall sums it up: “Chicago cronies out-cronied by IOC cronies.” Beaten by their own game. Update 12:52pm Eastern. Congratulations, Rio: Inevitable cost overruns, massive sports palaces & graft galore are all yours! *** The noble “sacrifice” of Michelle Obama by Michelle Malkin Creators Syndicate Copyright 2009 It’s hard out there for a First Lady of the United States. Take it from travel-weary Michelle Obama. On Tuesday night, she boarded a luxury 757 for Copenhagen. Think of the stairs she had to climb. Oh, the agony of the feet! Upon arrival, Mrs. O, her “chit-chat buddy,” Chicago-based talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, and Chicago power-broker/interest-conflicted real estate mogul/senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett immediately embarked on a grueling, grip-and-grin campaign to secure the Olympics for their hometown. Our smile muscles ache in sympathy. You will be comforted to know that gracious FLOTUS feels your pain for her pain. “As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days,” the First Lady told a group of fellow Chicago 2016 boosters, “so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home.” Translation: Thank me, thank you, for all we do. Never has self-congratulatory gratitude been raised to such an art form, but there was no time for loyal subjects to dwell. The selflessly indefatigable Michelle Obama had to rush off for an 800-meter wine-and-cheese dash with International Olympic Committee members, followed by a rigorous aerobic Heads of State luncheon hosted by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and another high-heeled trek to the IOC Opening Ceremony at the Copenhagen Opera House. Of course, it’s not entirely clear which “people” out there are saying that the Obamas’ jaunt to Denmark is a “sacrifice.” Certainly not the families of 43 American soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines who have died in Afghanistan since General Stanley McChrystal called for more reinforcements. Certainly not the families of nearly 40 children and teens in Chicago who lost their lives on the out-of-control streets of the Windy City so far this year. The First Lady’s slip of self-absorption reminds me of a useful passage in Washington Post writer Liza Mundy’s biography of Mrs. Obama. After graduating from Princeton University and Harvard Law School, the bitterly oppressed Michelle Obama headed back to her native Chicago to join the high-powered law firm of Sidley Austin—the fifth-largest in the world. There, Mundy’s book reported, the future first Lady griped about having to do the duties of a second-year associate while she was a second-year associate—demonstrating the trademark attitude of entitlement and inflated ego that led the law partner who recruited her to later describe her as “perennially dissatisfied.” Doing her first job was a burden then. Enjoying the perks of her current job are “sacrifice” now. Mrs. Obama has a gift for selling special-interest business as usual as public-interest charity. Thus, the insatiable appetite of the Chicago polite elite for a massive Olympics windfall to crony developers is redefined as a do-good campaign For the Children. Said Mrs. Obama moreResolved Question: Do you agree with new recommendations that all police across America cannot ask about immigrations this means?
Do you agree with new recommendations that all police across America cannot ask about immigrations this means the police could not arrest anyone suspected of being illegal or could not even issue a ticket to a suspected illegal for no drivers licenses or insurance and the police would be powerless to even arrest any suspected illegal until a fatal crime happens until then illegals are off limits to all law enforcement ,why are illegals now not even held to the same laws as us, they are accountable when it is a serious crime until then the police would subject to being fired for U.S. government task force recommended Wednesday that the federal Department of Homeland Security scale back an initiative that allows local authorities to enforce the country’s immigration law. The so-called 287(g) program — named after the section of law that created it — should be limited to identifying illegal immigrants in state prisons and county jails and exclude any efforts to track them down outside of criminal investigations, the Southwest Border Task Force said. The proposal came as part of the group’s first report to the Homeland Security Advisory Council, which sought input in June from several border politicians, law enforcement officials, academics and business leaders. The task force presented 18 other proposals Wednesday on issues ranging from streamlining the border crossing process to ongoing cooperation with Mexican law enforcement. “Our goal is to get all of the Southwest border on the same playing field and draw out the realities on the border versus the rhetoric,” said Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Treviño, the task force’s vice chairman. Civil rights and Hispanic groups have urged President Barack Obama’s administration in recent months to end the 287(g) program amid mounting evidence that some participating police departments have used the newly granted authority to justify racial profiling. Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, whose jurisdiction includes unincorporated areas outside Phoenix, has been accused of targeting individuals for immigration review based solely on their appearance and is currently facing a U.S. Justice Department investigation into alleged civil rights violations stemming from his participation in the program. Treviño, a staunch critic of 287(g) in its current form, said Wednesday that assuming a role in enforcing federal immigration law distracts local authorities from their primary duties and can cause problems with illegal immigrants in their communities. “We do not want a repeat of what has happened in Maricopa County,” he said. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced during the summer that her department would review 287(g)’s scope. Since then, the number of participating law enforcement agencies has swelled to nearly 70. In addition to changing the 287(g) program, the Southwest Border Task Force also urged Wednesday that Homeland Security place more emphasis on recruiting customs agents for the nation’s land ports of entry. Although Congress has appropriated money to expand the ranks of the U.S. Border Patrol by 8,200 since 2006, hiring for customs agents has not kept pace. Homeland Security budgets for fiscal year 2009 included funds for 2,200 new Border Patrol agents but only 22 additional customs agents. Other task force recommendations include: >> Creating a White House office to coordinate approving applications for new border ports of entry such as the soon-to-open Anzalduas International Bridge in Mission. Currently, local entities must complete 13 steps before winning approval and deal with four government agencies outside of Congress and the White House. >> Adopting clear definitions for terms such as “spillover violence,” which the task force suggested should be narrowly defined as violence originating within a Mexican criminal organization that plays out north of the border. >> Setting up a federal government grant program that would routinely provide money to border-area law enforcement. Homeland Security is not bound to implement any of the recommended policy changes, but Treviño, the vice chair, said he is hopeful they will receive fair consideration. “If DHS — or any other federal law enforcement agency — is going to meet their mission, they are going to have to have the 100 percent cooperation of local law enforcement,” he said. “I think this is a good first step.” http://www.themonitor.com/articles/federal-31189-force-task.html moreResolved Question: Has anyone responded to an e-mail like this? is it a scam?

My best friend and I were hoping to open our own boutique that would consist of Pageant and Prom gowns as well as cute jewelry, handbags and accessories. However, with the economy the way it is ... we have decided to put that idea on hold and we now have re-formatted our business plan to be an at-home shopping party. We would like to run this the same way you would a "TupperWare" or "Mary-Kay" Party, just without the recruiting new sellers. Our idea is to purchase handbags, jewelry, and accessories (even some clothing items) and then invite friends and family over to shop. We then would book more parties through our guests who would "host" at their homes. We were trying to think of cute names for this type of business. This is what we have so far ... let me know your ideas as well. I am a female account rep working for a large national company. A customer lured me to his office under the guise of a "business meeting" which is what I do. I have met with this customer many times. Customer has always been rather arrogant, smug and obnoxious... I have ignored his attitude for the sake of my job. This particular meeting I realized no one, the receptionist, office mgr etc. were in the office? Customer made some excuse... we went into Conference room and I opened laptop and started meeting. Customer then grabbed my chair and and roughly started grabbing me... tried to put hand down my pants and blouse. I tried to push him off and remain somewhat calm because he seemed to be "crazed" sweating, breathing hard...saying "don't you want me?" What are you willing to do for my business?!!! I was shocked, mortified and struggled with him to get out of the room... he kept trying to push me on the conf table.. trying to rub his erection on me. I kept saying Stop.. what are you doing... Your business does not benefit me personally!!! Finally someone pulled up outside and he let me go. I grabbed my things and ran out. I never returned. This customer is not an employee of my company. I was afraid to go to my manager I felt like A. He is not an employee of the company what can they do? I did not want this all over the district. B. It was my word against his... no one was there. I kept it to myself for months and it ate away at me. 5 months later he sends me an email (regarding his account). I knew I couldn't go back... so I told my Mom who was outraged and of course told me no job was worth my saftey or peace of mind. I told my manager and she was supportive and told me I should not have felt that I couldn't come to her or that my job would be jeapordized. She then told HR. I spent so long trying not to think about what happened... I now how to meet with HR and tell the whole story. NOW the question... I really want to ask for some time off just to clear my head (my work has suffered some from the incident... I have gotten behind). I DO NOT want to lose my job.. but I am afraid that It will appear that I cannot handel it if I ask for time off. (Even if only a week or two). The job itself is very stressful and competitive... there is a high turnover... the hiring process is long and tedious (they recruit the best of the best). Recently, I was browsing the internet and found very interesting article. During the 1980s, when Russian troops occupied Afghanistan, the USA's Central Intelligence Agency was sending arms and war material to the Afghani Mujahideen. The CIA also provided military training and logistical support to the Afghani Mujahideen. US arms dealers, CIA agents, and covert US military Special Operations troops were deeply involved in assisting the Afghan resistance to Russian occupation. The Stinger shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles which the USA gave to the Mujahideen enabled the Mujahideen to turn the tide of battle and to eventually defeat and expel the Russian Army from Afghanistan. Afghanistan is a major opium-growing center, and during the Russian/Afghan conflict, heroin trafficking out of Afghanistan became a major enterprise for the CIA, which used its own fleet of difficult-to- trace aircraft to ship the drug into Europe. When I was in New Delhi in 1980, I met young Afghans who were eager to sell heroin and AK-47 automatic assault rifles to almost anyone, including random tourists. War material from the USA for the Afghani Mujahideen was channeled through Pakistan, and during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan the US government and the Pakistani government formed a deep alliance. The arms, training, and logistical support that the USA provided to the Afghan Mujahideen was also channeled to Terrorists who are trained and supported by the Pakistani government and military to infiltrate into Indian Kashmir in an ongoing effort to destabilize the Indian control of Kashmir. After the Russians left Afghanistan, the Pakistani-based Taleban, which had always received its primary support from the Pakistani government, seized power in Afghanistan and formed the ruling government there until the US invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001. The Pakistani government and military abandoned their open support for the Taleban when the USA bribed Pakistan with many billions of dollars in US military and economic aid just prior to the US invasion of Afghanistan. Al Qaeda, which in Arabic means 'the Base', was originally the name that the CIA station chiefs in Saudi Arabia gave to the database that they created to keep track of the individuals and groups to which the US government was providing funds for the Afghani Mujahideen during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan. During the Russian occupation of Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden was an organizer for the Afghani Mujahideen. Bin Laden worked to help funnel US arms and supplies to the Mujahideen, and bin Laden helped bring Saudi and other foreign fighters to Afghanistan to assist the Mujahideen. In these roles, Osama bin Laden was constantly in close communication with the CIA, and bin Laden was functioning as an agent, asset, ally, or employee of the CIA. Osama bin Laden later assisted the USA's divide-and-conquer agenda in the Balkans by recruiting Saudis and other foreign fighters for the Kosovo Liberation Army during the 1990s. The Balkans are an entry-point for heroin trafficking into Europe, and the CIA, assisted by the Al Qeada volunteers recruited by Osama bin Laden, engaged in heroin, arms, and human trafficking there. Ex-US President George H. Bush and his son, the current US President George Walker Bush, have been close friends with the bin Laden family of Saudi Arabia since the 1980s. The bin Laden family business involves major construction projects throughout the Middle East, and the US government and US corporations have been frequent customers of the bin Ladens. On the day after the 9/11/2001 attacks on the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City and on the Pentagon in Washington D.C., President George W. Bush authorized the departure of members of the bin Laden family for flights back to Saudi Arabia without any of the bin Ladens being subject to any questioning by the US intelligence agents or law enforcement. Osama bin Laden has never claimed responsibility for the 9/11 attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon, and officials at the USA's Federal Bureau of Investigation have stated that they do not list Osama bin Laden as a suspect in the 9/11 attacks because they "do not have sufficient evidence that Osama bin Laden was involved in the 9/11 attacks." Since 9/11, several videos and audiotapes have been posted on the Internet that purport to show Osama bin Laden, but all of them have been proven to be forgeries. President George W. Bush has publicly stated, "I don't care about Osama bin Laden" and Bush has also publicly dismissed any need to find or capture Osama bin Laden. Al Qaeda is nothing more than a bogey man, an invented ghost to frighten children and the ignorant. Al Qaeda is the invisible and nonexistent enemy that the US government has manufactured to provide an excuse for its never-ending 'War on Terrorism', which is in reality a war of US aggression for US domination of the world and its resources. The US g...The US government commits 'false flag' attacks such as the 9/11 attacks; the Bali, Madrid, and London bombings; and the recent bombings and attacks in India as a way to create a false threat where no real threat exists, providing an excuse for the USA to step in to 'rescue' and 'protect' other nations from 'Terrorist' attacks that were actually perpetrated by the USA itself.Jared to which category of people you belong, chldren or ignorant?Mitch3ll , thank you for your very informative answer,Meow, I do not believe everything I read. The moreResolved Question: Business Co-Owner Wanted?

Sometime last year though, I was stalked and harassed on campus by professors and students who were contacted by FBI agents (or so I believe) who suddenly investigated me, foudn out every single private info abotu me (psychological status, personal history, past relatinoships, family problems) and used this information to harass me by getting peopel to repeat thiese things in order to make me paranoid. I believe that the government used gangstalking tactics to make me go crazy and commit suicide in order to attack my parents and destroy our family. I've been given attacks to my personality, my identity, my beleifs, and my culture, I was ostracized from family and friends, I was told that I shoudl be "itnegrated into american society or else face the consequences", and I've been treatened several times. The american government tried to use variosu means to break down my morality, recruit me into their agency and spread lies about me to other people in order to ruin my career and my life. Thsi also involved police harassment and intentional pressure to exaggerate benign actions into "possible terrorist activities" and get peopel to participate in this harassment. I've suffered psychological and economical damages, as theese people decided to even go to my parent's business contacts to get them to stop helping them. The government also tried to send recruited citizen spies to my house and get them to befriend me, and I was told that this entire fiasco was some kind of bullshit "leadership project" or a "behavioral modification project" as I was not "considered an authentic american citizen". Who do you thin is doing this, why and does the sudden discrepency in actinos and validity give me any basis to counterattack these people and stop this from happening?Furthermore, I am aware that our house is under surveillance 24/7, the phones linesw are tapped, and that these peopel are trying to either find any informatino that they can use to possibly blackmail me, attack me by given it to third parties, or brainwash me with their christian propaganda.I apologize for the spelling. moreResolved Question: where is the Justice Department located in Washington D.C.?
PRESS RELEASE JOSEPH MICHAEL HOUSTOUN WILL BE: “Hitching-A-Right to Washington” TO HIS NATION’S CAPITOL THIS MEMORIAL DAY, WITH A CONSORTED FOCUS SEEKING NOTHING BUT JUSTICE FROM THE U.S. DEPARTMANT OF JUSTICE FOR THE PERSONAL VIOLATION AND DECIMATION OF MY ENTIRE LIFE, DUE TO THE: PRESIDENT BUSH TOP SECRET N.S.A. SPY PROGRAM My name is Joseph Houstoun, I, now, after much agonizing find it profoundly and urgently necessary, to go public with my true torture story that spans out over the past 4.5 years to present. A story unlike any other perhaps in our nation’s history, one of torture, abuse and one that has deprived me of every single “Right of Citizenship” afforded to me under Constitution of the United States of America. This incredible story starts after I personally and painstakingly found; The President Bush Top Secret N.S.A. SPY PROGRAM on my business/home computers. Sadly I had to discover this hidden cyber system, after my 8 years of archived professional and personal information was destroyed. That’s when they slowly started to decimate, torture and destroyed my entire professional, personal and family life. Today, I’m left with nothing, in a material or economic sense, owing thousands to those who faithfully assisted me through it all, and deprived of the ability to earn an income. To the point; From at what I first viewed as my Countries; National Security Agency calling on me to serve my much beloved country once again: To the realization now, that from day one in July of 2004 in it's totality, it was nothing short of what I think can only best be described as: “One Huge Deception of Patriotic Faith” all done with the intent to recruit me, I thought ever so incredibly proudly to become an N.S.A. Agent". Shortly there after, I was told as much I was not only dealing with the N.S.A. but as well the C.I.A. This was for certain an extremely well, Pre- Planned, Masterfully Crafted, long thought-out method to capture this patriot by hook-line and sinker into service. So as directed, through this incredibly deceptive recruitment approach, I and for such a long period of “blind faith time”, preformed thousands of task, after I accepted the role. It is of my opinion, that my personal government abuse story will very likely be, the missing voice/ link, that brings the rule of law and judicial accountability to the previous Administration's; D.O.J.’S, ill advised, extremely arrogant, lawless, unconstitutional and unbridled thugs. In conclusion, I am going to take this public one way or the other, and I am hereby offering to the media at large, the opportunity to break open a story that WILL dwarf the N.S.A. Illegal Wiretapping/ Spy Story, that I’m sure you know, exposed the unconstitutional and lawless Wire-tapping Program that President Bush ordered after 9-11. I will start my “Hitch-A-Right to Washington” Program to provide this unimaginable, American True Story personally to every single person I have the pleasure to meet along the way, towards the great State of Washington. I shall depart this small quiet lakeside town in the heart of the Great State of Florida, where I recently was forced to take refuge, after loosing it all, as an Innocent U.S.of A. Army, Veteran. If you would like to get in contact with me and get the STORY OF THE DECADE, simply look for the guy “thumbing-it” as I walk down Florida State, Hwy. 19 wearing all black clothing, with the colors of the U.S. Flag and or the neon colored sign attached to my suit case with the phrase clearly visible from a distance, that states: “NSA SPY VICTIM”. I will be starting my lengthy journey to D.C. with my final destination being the: The Very First Step of the United States Depart of Justice. Once there, I will “Bitch-A-Tent” and will not leave until; I receive “Good ‘Old American Justice” (get arrested :), by receiving my due compensation that, damn sure better be afforded unto myself, through My Constitutional Protection as Written, Signed and Rarely Amended. i.e. My Bill of Rights. My intent you ask? As to not let down: My Forefathers, All The Dead U.S. Service Veterans (especially their Heroic Families) and all the other Great American Men/Women, that possessed a clear conscious, especially those that God Blessed with the all illusive, Commonsense and Wisdom, to Washington D.C. on that “Day of Freedom for All”. This is CWE and we Present Judgement Day. We will have The World Championship on the line tonight along with The CWE Title, IC Title and US Title among other things. To kick us off this evening we will finally see the confrontation we have been waiting for. Match 1(Impact Match) Since CWE began Kane has been constantley been interferring with Matches involving Sting and attacking him also recruiting the help of his brother The Undertaker. Sting finally had enough of asking for an explination and challanged Kane to a No Holds Barred Match Tonight No Holds Barred Match Kane Vs Sting Match 2 (Havoc Match) IC Championship Match John Cena (c) Vs Finlay Promo 1 JBL is backstage talking with other Superstars in The Locker Room, He is telling them about Shane McMahon's announcement on Impact last week that he is bringing in a New Title and will crown him (JBL) as The First Champion, he says that is obviously gonna be one of the most highest valued Title's in CWE and he will finally Top The CWE Roster. He is then interupted by CM Punk who reminds him that his Title is on the line tonight as also announced by Shane and it will be him (Punk) competiting for it. He reminds JBL that on Impact this week he cost Triple H a chance for The CWE Title and Tonight he will end the dreams of the Pointless JBL and that everyone here needs to remember that CM Punk is The future name of CWE The Straigh Edge'd Superstar which no one can compete with. Match 3 (Impact Match) US Title Shelton Benjamin Vs AJ Styles (c) Promo 2 Shane McMahon comes to the ring along with Triple H carrying a box. He says tonight we are going to reveal A New Title in CWE which will be available to Both Impact and Havoc. He says he could not think of 2 better Superstars to face off for the first time for this Championship and as promised The First Champion is JBL who he now invites out to receive his Championship. Shane says before handing over this title he wants The Challanger to come out CM Punk. We now have Shane, HHH, JBL and CM Punk in The Ring. Shane no opens The Box and pulls out The Championship Belt and hands it to JBL. As JBL receives The Belt he has a look of Joy, but as he takes it, it turns to anger. JBL grabs a mic and asks What the Hell is going on? This piece of Junk is made out of Plastic. Shane comes back to The Mic to explain what this Title is all about, he says that this Title is a Title which you don't want, this is The Loser's Championship, the only way you can win it is by Losing. The rules of this Championship are that it has to be defended at least once a Fortnight. JBL says this is ridiculous and wants no part of it and goes to walk off. Shane says he cannot do that as he has to defend it and if he dos not defend it then he will be FIRED which brings Shane to The Final Rule about this Title. If you fight for this Title 5 Times and still have it then you are Fired, he says this Title is to get rid of The Junk in CWE and it will be decided by either himself of Havoc GM Teddy Long who will be facing off for it. So up next it is CM Punk Vs JBL for The Loser's Championship and The Loser will retain The Belt. CM Punk then steps in and says he is the future of this business and does not deserve this kind of treatment. Triple H says that if he is the future then he will have no problem winning this match. Match 4 (Impact Match) Loser's Title Match - The Loser retains The Belt CM Punk Vs JBL Match 5 (Havoc Match) Cruiserweight Championship Match Triple Threat Rey Mysterio (c) Vs Paul London Vs Chavo Guerrero Match 6 (Impact Match) CWE Title Match Kurt Angle Vs Randy Orton (c) Main Event (Havoc Match) World Championship Match Rob Van Dam Vs Chris Jericho (c) Thanks for viewing CWE's Judgement Day Card, please vote for who you think would win and give The Show a Rating. I live in Maryland, and I have been with PFS for about a year and a half now. In this area, the company has an awful reputation of being a non-stop recruiting machine that churns through the unsuspecting while not writing enough business to support the average agent. In our organization (as far up as I can see), only 2 people are really living the life. After that, VPs have an office overhead to pay for as well as their own health care benefits (which significantly reduces the value of their gross cash flow), and the agents gather together and jump around like crack addicts, pretending that everything is better than it really is. I realize this question will get a lot of people together to say "InsurancePyramidCultScam", and it will also get about as many to defend the opportunity. If anyone can describe a model where business is written and clients are served, and where incoming agents can expect to be paid for their efforts, please step up and identify the VP and baseshop who I can contact. Also, I am about 2 seconds from taking my licenses to another more sensible provider (Edward Jones, MetLife, etc. etc. etc.). I am open to suggestions in that area too. moreResolved Question: Opening a Gentleman's Lounge in Fairbanks, AK... any tips?

I have been married to a sociopath for 8 years. I am wife# 3. We share a child, who adores both of us. From the start he was so attentive. I did wonder however, why he had soul custody of his two teenage boys and their Mother never was mentioned or involved with them. He is very controlling and they were not allowed to mention her name. I became pregnant, he then suggested I get an abortion by taking a pill. I refused. We eventually got married. It was so gradual. I watched him browbeat his younger son , who was fond of his mother. To the point where his son was having panic attacks which led to heavy drinking and drugs. And later showed signs of violent behavior. The older son however is his favorite. Later I found out because he does as he is told. Needless to say when the boys left home, I became his punching bag. He has recruited his whole family against me.It has made my life a living hell, since my family is deceased. I had the good credit when we met. He had none. I put his name on my cards. He then forged my signature for huge amounts of cash. When his business failed I am left holding the cards literally! Thousands of dollars. I learned he owed the IRS quited a large sum of money which he lied about. We lost our home. After I refused to sign Power of Attorney on his tax lien , he made my life unbearable. Often times he would bring in his fav. son to get in my face and try and set me off. I warned him, the next time the police would be called and he would be escorted off the property. This man is very cunning, noone ever hears the things he says to me. It is emotional and mental abuse of severity. I have called the women's shelter and the women's crisis center for help several times over the years. Appears to be hopeless. I am afraid of him. I have seen him set people up for failure. He is a convincing, practised liar. and has an exceptional verbal facility, which can outmanoeuvre most people in times of conflict. I just feel as though there isn't any hope. He is the actual Jekyll and Hyde nature. a very scary individual. sometimes i wonder if it's easier to stay in the marriage rather then face divorce. I do know I cannot go on feeling this way it just gets worse with time. Open for suggestions............... moreResolved Question: Beaufort South Carolina's First Annual Tattoo Bash! HELP!!?
I am hoping that someone can suggest some help here, or maybe even be able to help us out yourself! As you may know, Beaufort South Carolina is the proud home to the United States Marine Corps Recruit Depot. For many many years, tattooing was illegal on the island. As of 2008, the very first legalized tattoo parlor opened, (Beauty Marks Tattoos) with Tattoo Artist Clarissa Wills (owned by a woman, no less!) at the helm. Because business was so steady from the day the doors opened, and the out cry for ink was so loud... Clarissa was never able to hold a "Grand Opening" for the shop. In the Marine Corps, having a tattoo is a right of passage so to speak, and they are all getting their initiation from Clarissa. This year, on April 18, 2009 Clarissa is going to be the hostess for Beaufort's First Annual Tattoo Bash. The reason I am writing to you is that I am in hopes that someone can help by sponsoring this event, or help Clarissa advertise for it. Please let Clarissa know if there is anything you can do to help out with this historical event...just like the art work she is sinking, it is sure to be a memory that lasts forever! Thanks for your time! www.myspace.com/beautymarkstattoos Any suggestions on how to help fund this event would be greatly appreciated! moreResolved Question: How much does it cost to become an LLC?

I’d decided to get up and go to church the following Sunday despite the splitting headache that I’d woken up with. I sat in the front row, as usual, as the choir marched in singing, “Jesus is on the main line! Tell him what you want! Oh, Jesus is on the main line tell him what you want! Jesus is on the main line tell him what you want, just call him up and tell him what you want!” I rocked side to side, singing along with them and the rest of the congregation. There was no other choir like Holy Temple Baptist Church’s choir. There was no church service like Holy Temple’s anywhere in the U.S. as far as I was concerned. I had a special attachment to that church. The Senior pastor, Bishop King, actually recruited me in Wal-mart early one Saturday morning while I was looking through the medicine aisle for something that would settle my ailing stomach. I’d been hanging over the toilet all night regurgitating everything in me due to my consumption of four Long Island teas topped off with an Apple Martini at the Author’s Lounge with Tomeka—whom I’d only known for one week. We had been celebrating my new job at the gift shop. I was squatting, reading the label on the back of a Dramamine box, when I felt someone standing behind me. I turned around and was immediately aggravated with this forty something year old man who was standing behind me with an all too phony grin. “Good morning, Young Lady.” I couldn’t believe he still spoke to me after I’d given him the look of hell and rolled my eyes at him. “Good morning.” I stood up as I spoke to him. I was not in the mood for hearing about how he was so unhappy with his wife and how he wanted to take care of me on the side, and so on, and so forward. “Upset stomach this morning?” I backed away. He was definitely too close for comfort. I was not impressed by his audacity to get all in my business. I hesitantly replied, “Yea.” He kept grinning and I kept getting more annoyed with him. I began to walk away, and he stopped me. “What is your name young lady?” I turned around, fed up with him, and said, “Why?” He was surprised by my rude response and probably irritated with me. He looked at me and said, “I apologize if I offended you. My name is Larry, Larry King, and I was drawn to you.” I cut my eyes at him and he quickly reacted. “It was nothing sexual.” He waved his hands as if to motion no. “I was drawn to you by the Holy Spirit. I am an ordained minister and I have a strong connection to God. The Spirit led me to make contact with you. I don’t know what you are going through, but I sense that you need prayer.” As he spoke those words all my negative feelings dissipated. Somehow, in all of my dysfunction, I could tell that he was very sincere. I extended my hand. “Please forgive me. My name is Lisa, Lisa Arbors. It’s a pleasure meeting you. You were right. I am not feeling well. I’ve been up all night throwing up.” He grinned. “No need to apologize, Lisa. I completely understand. Do you mind if I pray for you?” I honestly wished he would leave me alone. All I wanted to do was take my Dramamine, drink a Sprite, and go to bed. I replied with half a smile that took every bit of effort I had to muster. “Sure, if you’d like.” He reached out and laid his hand in the center of my stomach right there on the medicine aisle in Wal-mart. We both closed our eyes and bowed our heads. He began to pray. “Dear God, my rock of Salvation, Perfect Prince of Peace. I come to you this morning on behalf of my sister, your daughter Lisa, Lisa Harbors.” I guess he didn’t hear my name correctly, but I knew that God would know what he meant. “Lord, she needs you today, she needs you everyday. Lord you know the needs down to every detail. You know her destiny and what you need from her in order for her to fulfill it. Give her the strength to walk in your light. Give her the courage to submit to you the way you would have her do so. Give her direction. Heal her from all sickness. Demand the Devil be removed from her life in every area.” As Bishop King prayed, his voice rose and I began to feel very uncomfortable. I opened one of my eyes in order to get a peak to see if anyone was watching. And, as I suspected, we’d drawn a crowd. I was grateful for Bishop’s concern, but deep down, I wanted the show that we were putting on to cease. I’d lost track of what Bishop was saying at this point, it all sort of sounded muffled, sort of how Charlie Brown’s teacher sounded when Charlie was off somewhere in his own imagination. I said, “Amen,” and, “Thank you, sir.” Bishop King got the drift without me having to put up a fight, and brought the prayer to a close. I thanked him again as I quickly gazed at the audience that we’d drawn. He held both my hands in his hands. “Lisa, I want to invite you to my church. I think you will like it.” I shook my head. “OK.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a business card with all of his church info on it. “Please stop by anyt moreResolved Question: help with american history?

I really need some input on this, because I have several issues that I have faced while visiting/living in Australia (Queensland) that just makes me wonder if it is in act a developed country: 1) Education system is just crazy here, 20 million people and like 33 universities, yet different ranking systems place their universities in different places. Australian websites such as 'Good university guides' tend to throw couple of institutes in the top 100 list, while the top ranking systems on the internet might place 1 or 0 universities in the top 200 lists. Bond university, Australia's only known private university, is ranked (1000? wow) 2) I have never received a special service here while being a visitor. In San Fransisco you have free buffets, and casinos dash out the nicest drinks for free. In England (I own 2 flats there), I receive complimentary limousine ride to the casino whenever I want, and back again. In Australia I have to wait hours just to catch a single cab, AND if it's late at night, they sometimes ask you to pay before hand?! before they even deliver the service to you. 3) The people here are just weird. I never met anyone decent here (out of 300 Ive met over the years) in GEOGRAPHY, there are decent personalities however. Most of my friends (OZs abroad) know more about Geography than anyone that I've met here. Please understand that these people are ones I meet on everyday bases as a visitor, let it be the bar tender or someone in the bar. 4) They cannot believe that my Kuwaiti dinar is worth 5 dollars of their own currency, and they think the euro is the most valued currency in the world? what happened to the Maltese lira, sterling? that's kinda blatant. 5) The public transport is a disaster, I've seen buses running in Budapest Hungary that offer 3 times the service, more buses, electronic boards and timers. Sometimes bus stops here don't even have a time table, and calling their number lets you wait for 3 minutes which really sucks. And they look at you in a very bad way if you have no change what so ever, sometimes I only carry 50's, what can I do? 6) I takes me 2 nights to obtain a British visa for the holidays, it takes me 1 month to obtain an open visa for 10 years to the states (I must do an interview however), but it takes me 2 months to get a visa with multiple visits (3months + 3months) to visit Australia. Plus my country is on the Assessment level 1, so we're among the first ones to have the visas accepted, because they are hungry for tourism money. 7) They are unable to produce nuclear weapons on their own. And if someone jumps on me saying that they can hire people, well let me tell you that Kuwait (where I come from) has these capabilities as well. Well would you surprised that the US got recruited to free Kuwait and take action all in 6 hours. This is to point out that having the power to hire other people to fight for you doesn't make you a developed country fool. 8) Their economy is being led, they wont lead. Perfect example is now, the market crisis. Australian people used to get paid on average more than the US citizen, now a dish cleaner in the US being paid $9 an hour is the same as the waiter here being paid $16 an hour. If the Chinese market goes up, the Australian one follows. And now, they are in the worst situation ever, this means OZ families will spend almost double their savings to travel abroad, that just sucks. Check out the US dollar, British Sterling and the Euro. No comment. 9) Poor Australians are being ripped off everywhere. No matter where I go I see Oz businesses ripping off the poor people. A very perfect example can be seen in the following: a) Electronics, they are way to expensive here. You can set your own price and the people will pay. An iPhone here costs 1000 dollar (even before the market crisis). A 2002 Ferrari here sells for almost a million dollar which is a complete joke. American cars cost 4 times, regardless of their age. I envy my cousin who got himself a mustang for 6 US grands, I can still dream of having it in Australia. b) Internet. People here charge you even if you dont use the internet, and they will slap you continuously with their scary fines when you overuse their service. An extra GB overusing 3G's network costs $100 AUD dollars, 1 damn gigabyte. Don't let me even talk about Bigpond, because that's a whole discussion by itself. c) Anything European. If you purchase anything that's European here, get ready to pay for prices that haven't entered your brain yet. d) Cheaply built houses selling for crazy dollars. Its very sad to know that a country as large as Australia will make it very hard for a newly wed couple to get a new house. The finances are easy, they will give you loans, launch contracts, all to purchase a 3 bedroom house, in a cheap scary suburb that costs 3 times what I paid for my 3 bedroom house in Brighton (south of England) that I've purchased 2 years ago. Houses here in regi moreResolved Question: i need history whizzes....................................................?

They overcame ridicule and strong opposition in their efforts to win equal rights for women. The growth of industry also helped to change the old beliefs about women's rights. As factories and businesses multiplied, more and more opportunities outside the home were opened to women. The wages women received in these jobs gave them more freedom. New industries also turned on laborsaving aids to help women in their homes -such aids as gas and electric stoves, vacuum cleaners, electric refrigerators, and washing machines. Housework became easier, and women had more time for interests outside their homes. Many colleges, formerly limited to men, now accepted women students. A number of women's colleges were founded. Because the opportunities for college education were greater, women were able to enter the different professions. Women Win Suffrage Changes such as those we have mentioned made it seem less and less sensible to deny women the right to vote. By 1900, four states west of the Mississippi River had approved woman suffrage (they had granted women the right to vote). Leaders in the battle for women's rights had to fight long and hard to bring suffrage to all American women. These leaders wrote newspaper articles and gave lectures. They even paraded before the White House to awaken the public to the need for this reform. At length, the Nineteenth Amendment (1920) was added to the Constitution, extending the right of suffrage to women. Women in all parts of the country voted in the election of 1920. Since that time they have taken more and more interest in government. Women today not only vote, but hold many offices in our national, state, and local governments. {The periodical, ]"The Woman Rebel", told the working woman that there is no freedom for her until she has this knowledge which will enable her to say if she will become a mother or not. The fewer children she had to cook, wash and toil for, the more leisure she would have to read, think and develop. That freedom demands leisure, and her first freedom must be in her right of herself over her own body; the right to say what she will do with it in marriage and out of it; the right to become a mother, or not, as she desires and sees fit to do; that all these rights swing around the pivot of the means to prevent conception, and every woman had the right to have this knowledge if she wished it… I resolved, after a visit to France, where children are loved and wanted and cared for and educated, to devote my time and effort in giving this information to women who applied for it. I resolved to defy the law, not behind a barricade of law books and technicalities, but by giving the information to the workers directly in factory and workshop... (Source: Margaret Sanger, "Comstockery in America," International Socialist Review) The Industrial Revolution was dawning in the United States. At Lowell, Massachusetts, the construction of a big cotton mill began in 1821. It was the first of several that would be built there in the next 10 years. The machinery to spin and weave cotton into cloth would be driven by water power. All that the factory owners needed was a dependable supply of labor to tend the machines. As most jobs in cotton factories required neither great strength nor special skills, the owners thought women could do the work as well as or better than men. In addition, they were more compliant. The New England region was home to many young, single farm girls who might be recruited. But would stern New England farmers allow their daughters to work in factories? The great majority of them would not. They believed that sooner or later factory workers would be exploited and would sink into hopeless poverty. Economic "laws" would force them to work harder and harder for less and less pay. The Lowell Experiment How, then, were the factory owners able to recruit farm girls as laborers? They did it by building decent houses in which the girls could live. These houses were supervised by older women who made sure that the girls lived by strict moral standards. The girls were encouraged to go to church, to read, to write and to attend lectures. They saved part of their earnings to help their families at home or to use when they got married. The young factory workers did not earn high wages; the average pay was about $3.50 a week. But in those times, a half-dozen eggs cost five cent moreResolved Question: Recently got an email about a job position from Monster.com?

I am a little fumed right now so bear with me. I recently graduated with my Master's in Business Management and I currently have a job but I am seeking other opportunities. I've been looking for a couple of months, but nothing exciting has come to light. Recently, I've been contacting recruiters because they've been pretty generous to me and I seem to have more luck with them than contacting the actual employer. With this in mind I sent my resume to a local recruiting agency. I basically sent the e-mail to their general e-mail, and I really didn't expect to hear a response. Well, to my surprise, the next morning the head recruiter contacted me, left me a voice mailing telling me to contact him right away and said he had some positions that were in my neck of the woods. I contacted him that evening, he asked me some questions, we went over my background, he seemed really interested. He told me about a couple of companies and some positions he thought I would be a fit for; I was pumped because this guy seemed really legit. He proceeded to tell me about a company he was going to contact the very next day, he also said he would notify me even if the company was not interested. He also said he was going to send me more details on the job description etc. After I got off the phone, he sent the info to me, I was excited because I was an exact fit for the position. Anyways, I e-mailed him back and thanked him and send him some other job info he requested and then I NEVER heard back from him. It's been over a week and I attempted to contact him 3 times, once through e-mail (thanking him for his help) and then I called him twice. I also failed to mention that he told me to call whenever I felt the need to because he wanted to make sure the communication lines were open. I don't really understand recruiters these days, the thing that aggravates me the most is the fact HE contacted me. I may have sent my resume to their general mailbox, but he was the one who actively pursued me and talked up a good game. If he felt he could not help me he shouldn't have offered his assistance, he had my resume and background afterall. Anyways, now I am wondering if I should just let it go or file a complaint. In my opinion, I think it is really messed up for a Senior Recruiter to treat a potential client like that..so what do you guys, drop it or call the line and complain? I am considering just letting it go since I have other recruiters who are interested in helping me, but I need some other opinions. Thanks for your help!Yes, I understand that he did not do anything illegal. I am not talking about a formal complaint (sorry if I mislead anyone). I was just going to call the general number and explain my situation and see if they could shed light on the situation. I just think it is odd how he suddenly stopped contacting me, especially after he said he would call the next day and was planning to set up interviews for this week. Yes, I e-mailed him the next morning thanked him, and waited 2 days to contact him via phone to see if he received my e-mail and if he heard anything. I then waited for the weekend to come and go and finally called one last time and said that if I didn't hear back then I should assume he was unable to assist me. I thanked him for his help and I told him I appreciated the service that he was able to provide. So the last message I left was really professional, didn't leave things on a bad note. I am just upset with the service that was provided, or should I say lack of. moreResolved Question: questions about joining the military?
I'm a college freshmen at community college right now, i'm not really sure what i want to do, i am thinking something in business or maybe teaching but i'm not sure. I will very likely finish out the semester and probably the entire year before making any decisions, but i wanted to get feedback from people and keep my options open. i know i have a TON of questions, if you even answer a few i'd really appreciate it, it's something i haven't thought about much before but i am more lately. any other little tidbits or helpful info that i did not ask is also appreciated, What is the average base pay for a new recruit going into army, marines, etc? Do any of them have upfront bonuses? Also this is kind of a stupid question, but i just don't know, what's the differences between the different branches in the military? like what's the difference between marines and army or navy, coastguard? If i enlist for 2 years or whatever the minimum is will they pay for me to go to an actual university when i get out? Is now a good time to be thinking about enlisting or might it be a better idea to wait until the election is over and things get figured out? What other things do you think you take out of joining that are useful in the real world after you get out? i'm a guy btw, seems like when women ask questions they get answered quicker >.< -thanks! moreResolved Question: Most of Boxing Is fixed you agree Proof? Thanks to Politics And Oscar DE LA HOYS?
My opinion : Kelly Pavlik is the present and future in American boxing. Mr. Arum better keep his eyes open because its very clear to me that Hopkins is only fighting Pavlik as a business move for Golden Boy Promotions. They are trying to court and recruit Kelly Pavlik to their team. This fight is just to gain Pavlik's respect and to show him how they do business and promote fights. Why do you think Hopkins had nothing but good things to say about Pavlik at their press conference? He is on his best behavior because Pavlik is like a Lebron James. He's the #1 draft pick and a franchise player. Whoever has the rights to Pavlik will have the best boxer for the next 5-8 years and the top earning potential that comes along with him. With Oscar retiring and Sugar Shane and Hopkins on their way out they are looking for a new cash cow. At 44 yrs old Hopkins really has nothing to gain by fighting Pavlik. Thats why when you look at the fight it doesnt make sense until you look at the behind the scenes part of it. Hopkins had already previously stated that he wouldnt fight anyone under 35. Why change that now for a non championship fight?? Hopkins is a sure Hall of Famer and losing this fight won't hurt his legacy. Gaining Pavlik to the Golden boy team will add money to his bank account for a time to come. Look for GBP to sign Pavlik when he becomes a free agent or try to buyout his contract. moreResolved Question: Need help re-opening a Truck Stop Cafe

Me and my husband met 4 1/2 years ago on the job. We instantly fell in love, moved in together, got pregnant, got married, bought a house, and a new car all within one year. , It was my second child and his 3rd. Chloe (my daughter) totally destroyed my shape, and yes it did give me terrible insecurites, but I never had to deal with them cause I FELT the love was so geniune between us. He even gained weight with me while I was pregnant. Infidelity was never thought of, and we never had a problem with people on the job interfering with our circle. However, he's always had a lust for women. He's always talked about fantasies in bed, which was a turn on for both of us, but eventually he was encouraging and wanting more and more a 3-way. I didn't mind the talk, but I didn't want it to be a reality for obvious reaasons. But I felt that he had such a desire for that, that if I didn't be cool with it, he would eventually get it elsewhere. So I convinced myself to be super cool with it. That was were I feel I went wrong. I think overall I was so deep in love with him so fast I just wanted to give him everything he ever wanted, but by doing that, I cheated myself out of being respected and layed down for him. Fast forwarding things a bit, we did wind up having a 3 way with a very unattractive women, after that, he was all on my space, openly flirting with girls, trying to get a new recruit to do it again. I guess he was half unfulfilled cause it wasn't what he had in mindbut it deeply bothered me to see this I guess in my mind I was like well it's ok if I pick the girl and I'm in control. That was not true. We've even had open enough conversations/arguments where he's said "why can't men have more than 1 wife? or "Why can't we be married with a girlfriend we can kick it with?" In addition to that, he's always looking at women on the internet and in public (but he's not disrespectful with it in public) but I would be looking with him. Now everything bothers me. I finally told him 2 weeks ago that, I was trying to grow spirtually and confess my true feelings about everything. He said that was all fine and that he wouldn't do it anymore. I told him I think he has an addiction to it. But he told me no, I love you first and foremost, I put no one before you, and I'm much stronger than the devil The day after we had this deep convo, I found out he contacted his EX girlfriend on my space and tried to recruit her for a 3-way with us!! Even she was taken back! But we managed to get through it, he even has been encouraged to grow his reltionship with the Lord. Things have and had been great this past 2 weeks, however, he blocked his my space page (which is understandable) but he also hasn't invited me on his page either, which leads me to believe he's hiding again, and I told him this. He really hasn't given me a clear answer on why he hasn't invited me over to his new page yet either. But I've painted on a smile, and continued to love him anyway. He has female co-worker (she's cool with me but we're not the that close) that sits across from him. She is an attractive women, and he has told me he would be interested in her for "US", anyway she's pregnant by her boyfriend but she's not oblivious to the way we've thought about her in the past. Any how, a couple weeks ago, he told me he's been encouraging more people to exercise and he told me he told her when she has her baby she could work out with us. I didn't like it really, but I didn't say anything. Then yesterday she went to lunch with us (his invite) and "after the fact" he told me he had went with her to go move her car cause he was bored. That was it, I asked him why did he need to go with her, you are not responsible for her, she has a man. He was like I'm sorry I told you and I didn't think it would be a problem. We work at large company, were people have always looked for the next rumor. Everybody knows where together here, why would even want to give someone the impression that you could be fooling around? Not that I care about the people, I just don't want to be played. PLUS, let the shoe have been on the other foot, all heck would have broke loose. He thinks I'm so psyched out crazy, but really it's that I see where their friendly relationship is going, and just don't think it's possible that that could ever happen. On top of all this, I'm taking care of all the bills in the home because of his Child Support and garnishments, putting food on the table everything. He pays half the mortgage and that's it. I don't get no financial support from him. The few dollars he gets he gives me. I never cared about his financial shortcomings or any of his other flaws, until now. In the end.. I feel like now you don't whole heartedly respect me first as much as I respect him first. And all the I've sacrificed for this relationship is a waste. I'm realizing he has unreasonable expectations of what a wife should be. Not too many women would love him and accept the burden of carrying a whole household financially, and take care of all business matters too(He lets me face bill collectors alone too). At this point I'm like what am I staying with him for? Love? Pity? Is this my companion and best friend or another negro pimping and playing a good women? How much more of this can we both go through. I just want us both to be happy.. moreResolved Question: Calculating start-up costs for a business?

All for free. I cannot afford to keep doing this for free and have been encouraged to open a shop. I am now taking a business class to get myself familar with business planning. What I'm asking for is probably to good to be true. But is there any work at home jobs out there that are legit. I want to find one that’s data entry, customer service, inbound calling etc. What I don't want is to run my own business, recruit other people, or do commission sales. Yes I want to be someone’s minion but not at the bottom of the piss triangle. lol K well if anyone knows of any that would be great. Thanks. PS - preferably something with little or no start cost. I've was raised that if it costs you money to make money its a scam, unless its a large investment (opening your own business etc) PSS - I put this in parenting too, I figure the work at home moms will know where the good stuff is. :-P moreResolved Question: Where can I get money to open a business?
I currently work in a very lucrative sales recruiting market. The company I work for is doing very well and I am considering a move to start my own business (most likely a partnership with a colleague). I have the ability to be successful and would easily double my current earnings by going out on my own-(or with a partner). In fact the current company I work for started in this exact same way and has grown to 20+ employees in a little under 5 years. The problem I face is that I would need a minimum of 20k to cover expenses until my sales kicked up due to industry agreements that give all sales a 90 day guarantee. Due to a recent divorce my personal credit is destroyed and there is no hope for a personal loan of any kind. Can anyone think of a way for me to get the capital I need to get started? I am an Army Veteran of 7 years if that helps. Thanks. moreTop How To Open A Recruiting Business Links
