Dell customers unhappy with BIOS band-aid for faulty NVIDIA GPUs

Even if the problem occurs out of warranty I think there is a strong case for Dell fixing it for free since there is an admitted manufacturing defect."

"With this solution, you try to push the issue outside the customers warranty-time.. but what's after that time? will you repair the notebooks for free?"

"nice to see that a hardware issue is fixed by software update. how is a physical defect suppose to be fixed by software? time to step up to the plate dell and start offering a replacement device."

"I tend to agree with some of the other comments. A bios update to turn on cooling fans is not the appropriate response when I have spent approx. $2000 on an XPS that I now fear will have a shortened life span."

I think that customers are right to be worried. more

Sounds, smells of the fair are back

''We don't advertise so we use this to help people, encourage people and pray with them,'' he said. He hands out fake $1 million bills, then gives them a tract that explains the path to heaven, which is worth more than $1 million, he said.

''Most of them are shocked and say they didn't expect that. . . . We don't argue, we just tell the truth of what the Bible says.''

Wayne County hog farmer Rich Steiner felt the heat in a physical sense in a patch of land out by the poultry barn. Laboring over a hot grill, he hand-turned his pork loins and smoked turkey legs, his art form. Nothing has been processed, nothing is fried.

''This is real food,'' he said. Steiner used to farm 300 pigs a month, but the price of corn ''and everything else'' has forced his hand. more

China to censor Internet during Games - organisers

"For the first time, foreign media will be able to report freely and publish their work freely in China," he said.

"There will be no censorship on the Internet."

However Sun said China's pledge was only to allow foreign reporters enough information to carry out their duties, not to have unfettered Internet access.

"Our promise was that journalists would be able to use the Internet for their work during the Olympic Games," he said. "So we have given them sufficient access to do that."

Falungong is a particularly sensitive issue for China's communist authorities, who outlawed the group in 1999, describing it as an evil cult.

File photo shows a man surfing the internet at a internet cafe in Beijing. Foreign reporters will not have complete access to the Internet during the Beijing Olympics, Games organisers said Wednesday, reversing a pledge to bring down the Chinese firewall of censorship. more

How To Incorporate A Business In Florida Questions asked

Resolved Question: How do I sue a business that is located in another state? This would be a small claims court case.?

The amount is $5,000. The claimant (plaintiff) is located in Miami, Florida, while the defendant is located in New York City. The contract was made verbally, over the phone. The goods were shipped to New York and sold but never paid for. The plaintiff is a Corporation and the defendant is an individual who owns a business, but the business is not incorporated. I also need to know if I can serve the defendant in person, or since he is in another state, have the Sheriff of that county, serve him the papers. Do I file the claim here in Florida or in New York? more

Voting Question: Where should I incorporate?

I live in New York City and have a reasonable successful online business that I want to take to the next level, hire employees, build up, etc. I have decided to incorporate to do this, but have questions about where to do it. New York State has the highest taxes in the nation, so I would like to avoid those once it is going. I could run the biz in New Jersey if it really makes money or even move or at least set up an office in Florida or Nevada where there are no state taxes, but for now, it does not make enough money to justify this, but I expect it to soon. If I register in New York, how hard and expensive is it to change states or incorporation? I have a buddy in Nevada. Can he be my registered agent or is there more to it? Thanks Kenny more

Resolved Question: Starting a new Business in Florida Fictitiously?

I need to know the difference in creating a fictitious name, dba, or forming an s corp. What is a fictitious name used for, when you start a business. Sunbiz Florida wrote me back that anyone can use the same fictitious name that may be on file as you do not own the rights to a fictitious name, then what is the purpose in the first place. ex, Tom Jones dba xyz? I had to file for a certificate of use with the local municipality, because the merchandise I am going to sell needed approval from their zoning and planning division. I had to file for an occupation license with the County I am operating in, filed for State resale tax id, and now a fictitious name. I am doing all of this so I can obtain a State resale tax Certificate so I can buy merchandise wholesale from suppliers, otherwise they wont sell you. Can someone unravel all of this please. If I am just starting a business I thought to incorporate might not be a good idea from the beginning as I do not know how well I will do. If I am successful then how will I be able to register the fictitious name as a Corp if other people are using the same name etc. I am a little discouraged about the process, and do not know which direction I should take. PS I cant afford to incorporate with an Attorney right now. Help Thank you more
