Consider Holding Alcon Shares
We like the stock as a long-term holding and rate the shares a Hold with a $150 price target.
While the fundamentals at Alcon have been and continue to look fantastic, the shares have been relatively volatile lately due to speculation that Nestle (Other OTC: NSRGY.PK - News) is looking to trim or completely sell its stake in the company. Nestle may be interesting in divesting its share in Alcon to look for more synergistic opportunities to help jumpstart growth at the struggling Swiss food giant.
The concern is that Nestle may start bleeding shares into the market and push the stock price down. As Alcon has operated largely independent of Nestle we don't view the risk of divestiture by the Swiss food company as a concern and our Hold rating is based on the long-term fundamental strength of the company. more
Flight of philanthropy for millionaire
At age 25, Jared Isaacman is already a self-made multimillionaire.
Now, the Warren County entrepreneur is aiming higher: He hopes to smash a world record by circling the globe in his sleek jet plane in less than 81 hours, 40 minutes.
Isaacman and two other pilots, who are also in their 20s, took off in a Cessna Citation Mustang, Model 510, late Friday night from the Morristown Airport, hoping to return there no later than early Wednesday morning.
For Isaacman, who lives in Washington Township and runs a Sussex County bank card company, the trip isn't a flight of fancy to gain notoriety. Instead, it's a way to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. So far, he has raised more than $40,000 in pledges and donations. more

Sales tax collection is flat or falling, and data points to a day when Fayetteville can't afford to provide services it offers without adding jobs and businesses. The other option is to raise taxes, something many have balked at.The trails - the ones some complain the city can't afford when times are tough - are economic development, explained Jeff Collins, economist with Streetsmart Data Services. So are the parks and sidewalks and Dickson Street."It's all of those things that make a community livable," Collins said.Fayetteville's got them, but doesn't have the business growth officials want. more

ESKOM has received over 100 tenders from industrial companies and entrepreneurs interested in building co-generation power plants.
Eskom senior manager Tony Stott said the deadline for tenders was the end of May.
Co-generation projects were introduced by Eskom as part of its plan to bolster faltering electricity supplies. “Co-generation” is a process by which industrialists sell waste by-products that can be used to generate electricity.
Wood shavings and chippings from a paper mill could be burned to generate electricity, as could the gas seen as orange flares coming out of chimneys at steel mills or petro-chemical companies. — Sapa
