Rio to offload US packaging business

MAJOR miner Rio Tinto has appointed an investment bank to find a buyer for its $US5 billion packaging business, newspaper reports say.

The packaging business was acquired last year, after Rio Tinto was successful in its takeover bid for Alcan, Canada's largest aluminium company. The offloading of the packaging business was part of the $US38.1 billion ($42.49 billion) takeover when it was announced in July last year. The UK's Daily Telegraph newspaper said Rio Tinto had appointed investment bank Morgan Stanley to find a new buyer for the business. It said a deal to offload the packaging arm broke down late last year after the global credit crunch made it difficult for private equity buyers to raise the necessary funds to complete the transaction. Morgan Stanley was likely to break up the packaging business "in an effort to make it easier for private equity buyers to carry out a deal", the newspaper said, quoting sources within the industry. more

I am a web designer but I've never developed e-commerce with shopping carts and paypal. I'd like a template for my personal business. Yahoo Business and Google are too generic. I am opening an online fashion store and I need a website that can host a good amount of pictures (about 5) per item. I need shopping carts and I need to use paypal. I run a start up web design business and up until now, I haven't been designing any sites that require an e-commerce component. A new client that has signed up has requested us to build an online store for him and I need to choose a method that will allow him to maintain his own online store after we sell him the web site design. He's not very computer savvy and I need to keep it simple for him. I don't want to get sucked into constantly updating his site every time he adds a new item. I also need to make sure that the shopping cart option we provide will be a secure service and were he will have the ability to authorize credit cards instantly and integrate with shipping carriers.
