Toronto stocks retreat as financials sag
TORONTO (Reuters) - The Toronto Stock Exchange's main index ended lower on Monday after a late-day retreat as nagging concerns about more fallout from the credit crunch pulled down Bank of Nova Scotia and other financials. The drop may have proven deeper if not for energy and gold shares, which rose as prices for their underlying commodities climbed, in part because of a weaker U.S. dollar. In the oil patch, Canadian Natural Resources rose 1.3 percent, while among the miners, Goldcorp added 2.4 percent. more

e commerce is online shopping business and some of the popular website for ecommerce are ebay.com, amazon.com, google.com etc... moreVoting Question: What is the best shopping cart solution?
I run a start up web design business and up until now, I haven't been designing any sites that require an e-commerce component. A new client that has signed up has requested us to build an online store for him and I need to choose a method that will allow him to maintain his own online store after we sell him the web site design. He's not very computer savvy and I need to keep it simple for him. I don't want to get sucked into constantly updating his site every time he adds a new item. I also need to make sure that the shopping cart option we provide will be a secure service and were he will have the ability to authorize credit cards instantly and integrate with shipping carriers. I looked into 3D cart but are there any other (possible better) options out there? moreVoting Question: whenever a website 404's, I get an annoying search page?

I am building an e-commerce site and I have most aspects set. But a big problem is customer service. I have a day job and can't take calls regarding my own business at work. What service or solution can I use to address this. I need customer service and order taking but really only need one person since it will be slow at first. I thought maybe a virtual assistant or indian call center. But those are expensive. Any suggestions? Thank you. moreResolved Question: Should I change my web hosting server? For Zen Cart shopping cart? and what about for my business info site?
I have a Zen Cart e-commerce site but I want some more customization to the template (one issue) and I also wonder if a different hosting site would result in more traffic and more online orders (a second issue.) Can the selection of the hosting site result in more traffic and more orders? I selected who I've got because at the time I thought the inter-linking with all the other community sites they serve would benefit me. (The info business site.) The e-commerce site came second, but now is my primary concern. My service provider and hosting site brought me to Zen Cart and have me set up but only adequately. I'd like to customize the template more (I can lean on them to get that done if that's really the only shortcoming) - - but I also wonder if they just aren't an expert host for e-commerce and that if I went with someone from Zen Cart's recommended list (or another big national).... that I'd get more orders. Are security badges important? I see a lot of sites without. moreResolved Question: Girls' Accessories Shop. Name Inspiration?

I am going to be starting an e-commerce website which will sell various features such as expanded space for a photo gallery the user may have on my site, along with selling actual products through an online shop. I know exactly what I am going to sell, and how to get it, the only issue I am currently facing now is how exactly do taxes work for a personal owned e commerce website. I know I do not need to charge my customers state or federal tax because I don't own a physical place of business (store or office) But how do I deal with the income taxes aspect and paying taxes from the business to the U.S. government? moreVoting Question: Where do I start with my e-commerce?
