Price of business the issue when China comes shopping

CHINA has a stupendous $US1800 billion ($1880 billion) in foreign reserves, a big chunk of it parked in US Treasury bonds that have lost their relative value dramatically because of the steady rise of the Chinese yuan against the US dollar.

Understandably, the Chinese have been looking at alternatives, one of which is investing in the producers of the raw materials their economy needs or in direct start-ups to open new supplies of these materials.

This is producing a rapid qualitative change in China's economic ties with Australia. As well as rapidly eclipsing Japan to become our biggest trading partner, China is now becoming a significant investor. Two years ago, cumulative Chinese investment in Australia totalled $3.5 million. Last year, investment applications from China hit $10 billion, and they may reach $30 billion this year. more

Voting Question: If my company is virtual, should I still include mailing address on stationery?

Hello, I'm in the process of starting a virtual company. Because it's virtual, I have no physical address. So, I wanted to know if I should acquire a mailing address (e.g., UPS Store) and put this on my business card, stationery, and all company information? Or, should I not bother, considering 99% of my information will be distributed and come web-based? Thanks  more

Resolved Question: What is Tyler Durden's address?

In the afterword, Palahniuk says that every Avery Denison stationery package has the address of 420 Paper St. Wilmington, DE 19886. However, Palahniuk has never said that the address is correct, and the presence of 420 indicates that it's a fabrication by someone familiar with cannabis culture. In the movie, on Tyler's business card, it says 537 Paper Street, Bradford 19808. The 19808 zip code is Wilmington, so Bradford must be a village in Wilmington. However, the 288 area code is nonexistant, and the Wilmington area code in reality is 302. However, to complicate things, when the Narrator is being interrogated by the cops, he says the address is actually 1537 Paper Street. Which one is right?  more

Resolved Question: would you buy handmade wedding stationery?

Hi, I am in the process of setting up a wedding stationery business, I have been handmaking cards and invites for 10 years now. I would like to know if you would pay £2.00 to £3.00 per invite if they were high quality cardstock ,nice designs and well made? I am doing a sort of survey to see how many brides prefer handmade stationery and from what they have already looked at how does the price compare? Would you or have you seen displays at wedding fairs and then purchased stationery from them? I would be grateful for any comments or help in this area as the best people to ask are brides to be or I suppose anyone who is married or has a stationery business and the answers community seem like the best people to ask to me. Thank's in advance have examples on my laptop but not on my site yet I am still in the process of getting professional photo's, how can I put them online so I can put a link on here? ok have figured it out made a super fast 360 profile and put 3 on there lindsay. http://www.flickr.com/photos/16508324@N06/ thanks soon2bmr http://www.flickr.com/photos/16508324@N06/ sorry missed a bit this one works fizzy stuff: at the moment I use an epson stylus r360 printer and print various fonts and colours, also use adobe to make up backgrounds, borders ,add art etc.I have looked into foil printing but it would bump the price up alot so I am going to offer it as an option if required. I have about 40 designs at the moment and they have individual matching inserts and a matching set of place cards, menu's, favours etc. Thank you for your lovely answer.  more

Resolved Question: Linking a business's existing domain to a new website?

Hi, here is the situation; the company for which I am revamping a website has an existing site under an existing domain (eg xxx.com.au). I did a whois on it and saw that it was last edited in 2002. I want to take down the existing website and link that domain name to the new host where I have uploaded the new website. What do I need to ask the company to get off the prior designer/maintainer in the way of log in's/passwords/codes etc? Once I have all this info, what on earth do I do!?! I am also worried the company may not be able to contact the prior maintainer so what would happen in this instance? I need to have the website under that domain because that is the url listed on all their business stationery/cards! Please explain step by step in idiot terminology for me! Also, does anyone know an Aussie web host that is simple to use and offers tech support? Thankyou in advance!  more

Resolved Question: Graphic Design company needs help with pricing?

I recently started a graphic design company. It's just me, no other employees, and I'm still new at this stuff. Mostly I've been doing corporate identity so far, but someone yesterday contacted me about a few things and I'm not sure how to price them all. They are: -business cards -stationery for invoicing -a trifold marketing piece -template for flyers I'm assuming at this point she's already got a logo (because she didn't ask for one). So I need to give her a price quote for the design of these things - excluding the printing. I'm not sure how much to ask for each one. I'm afraid if I ask too low, I'll really be wasting my time and if I ask too much I'll out-price myself and not get the job. Thanks.  more

Resolved Question: How can I get my Yahoo account of 10 years un-suspended?

I have been a loyal user for 10 years. Yahoo has taken away access to all my friend's email address, all the notes I made in notebook over the year. My Yahoo email address is on my business cards, stationery and printed catalogs. I cannot answer emails from my customers now. I think there is a reason Yahoo stock has gone from $44 tp $22 this year. They do bad things to customers. Even a rattlesnake warns before it strikes. I emailed customer service 20 times, never got a response back. I CANNOT ACCESS CALENDAR. I DO NOT KNOW THE DATES OF HOSPITAL AND DOCTOR'S APPOINTMENTS NOW. MY FRIEND'S BIRTHDAYS ARE LOST, AND REMINDERS TO PAY BILLS. I HAVE USED YAHOO PREMIUM SERVICES IN THE PAST. NOW I WISH I HAD NEVER HEARD OF YAHOO.  more
